2023.06.05 08:33 SavingSmarterSept P0301 DIY question

Ford Explorer 2012 XLT V6 started throwing this error abruptly and if the car is in motion the check engine light turns on. The car shakes a bit when in idle. The car's currently parked, and I'm not using it.
My question, is it OK two swap the coil from a good cylinder to a bad cylinder and check if it's in fact the coil that's the problem, or should I buy a new coil and test with a new one?
I'm comfortable swapping out the coils, but want to make sure I don't harm the car.

Currently am thinking of selling my 2012 Audi s4, got it for 16k with 116K miles on it. I did not do enough research and am slowly going insane just waiting for soemthing really expensive to happen to the car. (Yes I know, no such thing as a cheap audi).
Anyways, the 333bhp supercharged V6 with awd has had me GEEKED while I’ve had the car. I’d like to get something similar, does not need to be 333hp similar, but I’m a spirited driver. I also need it to be a somewhat reliable daily driver. :)
Yes I’m trying to tick all 3 corners of the forbidden triangle, but pricing id like to stick around the $14-15.5k range.
I like the comfort and semi-luxury of the car, granted I came from a 2005 wrangler with 200k miles xD. Cargo space is nice but not a huge must, same with the luxury, but I’d like it to be somewhat comfortable on the drive. AWD or RWD is fine by me, AWD probably makes me more responsible cause I’m not going out trying to do donuts lol. I also love the look of this car, especially for a 2012.

First post here and wondering you could please help. I drive a 2010 Camaro V6 LT. I drove into a parking lot and was going to reverse my car into a spot. I tried to move the shifter to "reverse" and then noticed it was really loose and not sticking to any drive mode. I wasnt able to select "reverse" so it was basically stuck in "drive". I drove around the parking lot a little and then shifted it to "park" and turned off the engine. Then the car couldn't start again after trying to start it. There was no crank or clicking noises. I tested the battery and it was fine. I then pushed it into a parking spot. The gear was in "park" and the car could still move which is weird.
Any idea what this could be?

Silicon Power SSD Troubles
I recently purchased a Silicon Power 256 GB solid state drive to use to run Linux Mint XFCE on my HP ProBook 4430s (manufactured ~2012, i5 processor, 2x 4GB RAM). I've reinstalled the OS several times using a brand new flash drive, but upon booting, am met with the error "Boot Device Not Found. Please install an operating system on your hard disk." However, when I plug in my flash drive to reinstall the OS, the live version recognizes that there is in fact a full copy of Linux Mint 21.1 on the SSD. To further deepen the confusion, using a USB to SATA adapter and another computer shows that Mint did in fact install to the SSD, it just can't boot for some reason. I'd assume the SSD would work fine as external storage if I were able to format it, but there was no option for even that.
Has anyone else had this issue or know how I could potentially resolve it? Did I just purchase a defective SSD that I should return? I've installed Linux Mint XFCE on 4 other laptops with SSDs and HDDs, 32-bit and 64-bit, HP and Dell and Lenovo/IBM, and none have resisted in any way, so this is a bit of a new experience for me. That being said, I will probably stick to buying my cheap SSDs from other sources in the future. Thank you very much in advance!

2023.06.04 14:29 Sage_Nashae 2011 Silverado Mystery Issue

So this morning I got in the truck to go to work and everything was fine as normal. Backed out of the driveway, went to the end of the street and started to turn right onto the highway. I felt a resistance turning onto the highway that eventually gave way in what felt like something possibly getting pulled and then as I straightened out I got the Service Stabilitrak/Traction Control and a flashing check engine light. I was able to drive the truck back to the house less than a mile away and grab the Wife's Prius to get to the church for work but now I have to figure out what is wrong with the truck so I can get to my day job tomorrow because I have some of the company equipment in the bed that might not fit in the Prius with enough room for the Dog. Any thoughts on what could be wrong, I haven't had time to scan for codes or get under it, I'm just trying to figure out a starting point.
For those that need to know, it is a 2011 WT v6 2wd Ext Cab. Nothing Special but she's mine and I just put a 2020 jump seat in her and replaced the cracked dash trying to get her back to how great she was when I got here in 2012. I was hoping to do some suspension and body work on her soon but this just decided to rear it's head out of nowhere.

Hello Reddit,
I have a manual 2014 V6 Camaro (5th Gen). Recently the engine blew up while I was driving it.
I'm thinking about replacing the engine myself. What I'm asking here is for any advice/tips/guidance on what I need to do and be aware of. I do basic car maintenance myself, but have never done anything on the scale of changing out an engine.
I've found a used engine for a good price on Ebay which I'll probably be going with. Also will be replacing the clutch while I'm at it. What else should I keep in mind to replace when I'm in there?
I've also been trying to find some walkthrough on YouTube but haven't found anything good for the Camaro. Anyone know of one I can sort of follow along?

It's been a long time since they removed it, yet the game glitches every time you try to go to redeem or try to go to the NFS Store.
They said that Online Pass is in the Playstation Store, but it looks like it was either delisted or I don't have a clue to what actually happened
I'm just trying to platinum NFS HP 2010 so I can move on to Shift 2, NFSMW 2012, etc.

Camaro is gone, challenger is gone, charger is going to EVs and turbos and no longer a V8 option. Corvette became a mid engine supercar. The mustang is the last front engine rwd V8 american coupe and still has a manual option. Just like when the S197 launched, the mustang once again has no competition. I guess one could argue the new inline 6 cylinder turbod charger could be considered a muscle car, as the buick grand national was considered a muscle car with its venerable turbo v6…but cmon who’s gonna want to pick that over a V8…

i'm building a new PC for my mom. her laptop (HP 14-ce1056wm) has some major issues. it thermal throttles even after i cleaned out all the dust and reapplied thermal paste, it goes into recovery every startup even after a BIOS update and it is painfully slow at times. also her hard drive is failing as well. i've decided i'll just build a new desktop instead of dealing with another laptop since my mom barely leaves the house anymore. anyways i've decided to just buy a used optiplex and a used graphics card and a 12 TB HDD to replace her damaged one (i already have a SATA SSD for the boot drive). i'm a little torn between which graphics card to choose. i was consitering a used GTX 1650 or a GTX 1060 as 1. i'm not very familiar with AMD cards (i haven't had one since 2012 - 2018 when i had a Radeon 6600 series with a Phenom II X6 in my main PC) and 2. my mom mostly uses her computer for watching movies/shows and browsing facebook/tiktok but she does occasionally play games (mostly point-and-click/puzzle games, but rarely more demanding games like battle for bikini bottom remastered). i know most optiplexes or similar machines are slim but full-sized ones exist (right?). i'm only doing a used machine instead of a from-scratch or a new prebuilt because i wanna keep it cheap. 2023.06.03 18:10 moefoer Book2 Pro 360 still worth it in 2023?

I'm moving to Spain from the USA in September to teach indefinitely and have decided not to go through the hassle of transporting my outdated pc with me. I also have an iPad Pro that I use solely for digital art that I desperately want to sell because it's basically an expensive sketchbook. So, I've decided to pursue a 2-in-1 laptop that I can draw with so I can sell both my pc and iPad.
However, I can't decide between getting the 15.6" Book2 Pro 360 and the 16" Book3 Pro 360. My expenses for my visa, airfare, apartment fees, replacing my broken s20+ with an s23 ultra, and first month's costs are going to be about $4000+, so I'm stuck between spending the extra money on the new one and just getting the 2.
I'D BE USING IT FOR: -- occasional 4k video editing because I'll be vlogging my experiences. I'll be using Kdenlive instead of something RAM intensive like Adobe.
-- internet browsing and multitasking (maybe up to 10 tabs at a time at most) and blog post writing since I run a small blog.
-- digital artwork through clip studio paint.
-- minor lightroom photo editing.
-- note-taking.
-- slideshow presentations and small Zoom meetings to provide private tutoring sessions.
-- using my galaxy tab s7+ as a second monitor.
Samsung (and tech in general) is more expensive in Europe so I need to get one before I leave in September. I prefer the size of the 2 versus the size of the 3. However, the 3 is slightly more powerful, better resolution, and is less flexible/flimsy than the 2. I am also needing something to last me a long time, especially since replacing it will be much more expensive in Spain, so I worry about the longevity of the 2.
Right now I can get one of the Book2 Pro 360s with the s-pen and charger off ebay for less than $900. Best Buy and Samsung still have them at $1300-1600 and the 3s for $1900 outside of the occasional sale for $1600. I feel like the 2 is the better choice but the only laptops I've ever owned were a 2012 MacBook air and a 2014 hp so I don't have the most experience with them, especially Samsung laptops.
Do you think the Book2 Pro 360 with the s-pen is still worth it for my needs in 2023? Or should I plan to drain my wallet with the Book3 Pro 360?
