Many physicians, mid-level providers, practice managers, administrators, billers and front desk staff members have questions about coding. Today's demand for certified professional coders (CPCs) is growing as many jobs in the coding and billing field now require certification. Health care professionals involved in coding, compliance, billing, administration and reimbursement aspects of medicine should be certified as part of a compliance program.

2023.06.05 14:38 Castricius My first year in a programming job I’ve learnt very little, I want to move on to somewhere where I will have a greater opportunity to learn and develop as a professional. Any advice?
Hi all, I’m a Junior .NET developer for a small company, I secured this role after teaching myself some software coding through The Odin Project, prior to this I have a degree in Game Design and Production.
I want to secure a new role, at a Junior level and feel under qualified especially having done year of professional experience, and not having anything really on a portfolio to show from work, however staying at my current job is not going to lead to any personal or professional progression.
This first year at my job has been frustrating as the company I work for, has not been the best for learning beyond some fundamentals. And the tasks I am doing, working on, are the same things day in day out without much capacity to learn due to their nature. This has also been impeded by my development manager being very hands on, takes over a lot (this happens to other developers not just me too) so in combination I’ve been frustrated in how little I’ve learnt.
A big positive is that i an at the end of an apprenticeship they put me on where I’ll gain a software development qualification in a month or so.
I’d love to be pointed in the right direction for how to approach trying to get a new job based on the info provided. Not I have no desire to stay at this company, as well as it not being great for learning and getting involved, it’s not a very good work environment.. but that’s another matter haha! Thanks :)

2023.06.05 14:38 staryoshi06 Stripper clip thumb eject
Early on in the game's lifecycle the stripper clips would eject automatically once empty. It's definitely good that they no longer do this by default, but I think it would be useful to have the option to do this using a button. My suggestion would be (for classic controls) that holding down on the touchpad/joystick while pushing rounds into the gun would eject the stripper clip on empty, simulating you pushing it out with your thumb. Could probably be A/X for streamlined controls. If you still have the code for the old system laying around it could perhaps be reused, depending on how rigidly it was built?

2023.06.05 14:38 themonkery What sort of projects/skills are Embedded Software Companies looking for? How should I advertise myself?
I’ve been doing embedded software for maybe 9 months now. Thing is, my current position is ad hoc. I have the qualifications (well, a CS degree) so my company gave me the project rather than outsource it. My prior position was Engineering Technician.
The next couple paragraphs are just about what I do.
I made my company a product using TTL and RF comms. I prototyped the project on a raspberry pi with Python that operated in O(n) and had variable memory costs. I made a final version with Arduino in C, I tweaked the algorithm for more up-front memory usage but it operates in O(1) and the memory usage isn’t variable.
It’s a real-time operating system. One end has a printer and a button. The other end has a keypad and uses an opto-isolator as a relay. I even had to design a multi-purpose PCB in kicad which I’ve never done before using all the bells and whistles.
Admittedly, it’s a simple system, but Im really proud of it. I had no knowledge of these systems beforehand, I taught myself everything for this project beyond basic knowledge of C. I’ve barely had real professional coding experience before this beyond debugging and normal programming, here I’ve made an entire system architecture. It came out great but sadly there’s no patent I can put my name on. The project is basically over so I’m trying to leave this company.
Here’s where it circles back around to the topic.
This isn’t my field. I’m not even sure what my field is. I got a computer science degree, had an internship that involved debugging a three-language localized platform, and since then haven’t had much coding experience for a few years beyond some basic Python data processing.
I don’t know how to advertise what I’ve been doing. I don’t know what people on this field are looking for. I didn’t even know I’ve been doing Embedded Software until I researched jobs that might match my experience. My job title only changed once I found that out and asked my bosses to change it to help me look for new work.
I’ve been looking for 3 months and haven’t gotten a single bite. I have 3 months left to find work and I don’t know what to do. I want to do more of this, I’d even love to do it in my free time, but I have no idea what to do to make myself sound like someone worth hiring. Could anyone offer advise on how to market my experience in this field?
Is my experience worth anything, or should I give up and just try to pursue software engineering? I’ve had trouble finding work there too, since I have no database experience. I’m 3 years out of college and have comparably low experience in my field vs other candidates.

2023.06.05 14:35 AutoModerator [Download Course] Dan Koe – Digital Economics Masters Degree (Genkicourses.site)
| Get the course here: [Download Course] Dan Koe – Digital Economics Masters Degree (Genkicourses.site) Our website: https://www.genkicourses.site/product/dan-koe-digital-economics-masters-degree/ What You Get Phase 0) Digital Economics 101 The Digital Economics 101 module will open 1 week prior to the cohort start date. This is an onboarding module that will get you up to speed so we can get straight into the material. This will be required to finish before the start date. - Gain a deep understanding of all of the pieces in the digital economy.
- Learn about the future of media and code — the front-end and backend of the internet — so you can focus your efforts.
- Understand digital leverage, distribution, no-code tools, and digital assets so you can take part in the mental & financial wealth transfer.
Phase 1) Creating A Meaningful Niche Every day I hear people going on and on about trying to find their niche.I also hear people talking about how they don’t know how to combine what they love talking about with what will sell. You already have the answer. You just don’t have the clarity. - Develop a long-term strategy to create your own niche — meaning you don’t have to worry about your “competition” playing status games.
- Discover your life’s work, curiosities, and obsessions. I see too many people that are uncertain about this for years.
- Cultivate and turn your vision, goals, and values into a brand that attracts an audience you love interacting with (and that will buy from you, and only you).
Phase 2) Content Strategy There is one thing that separates those who make it in the digital economy and those who don’t.It’s the quality, articulation, and perceived originality of their content. The content you post has to make sense to the people you attract.Everyone has a different voice and tone that they resonate with. That they are congruent with and trust. It has to change their thought patterns or behavior — that’s what makes you memorable. That’s what separates you from the sea of people posting surface-level copy-cat style posts.Example and putting my money where my mouth is: - Become an expert-level speaker or writer on the topics you care about.
- Never run out of content ideas for your posts or promotions (without using content templates — that’s how you stay a commodity).
- Create posts, blogs, tweets, images, and videos that resonate with other’s on a deep level. People will actually ask you how you got so good at what you do.
- Separate yourself from the ocean of B-tier creators that struggle to sell their products, services, andhave their ideas stick in the head of their audience.
- Implement our Epistemic Research Method — which is just a fancy way of saying scientific research method… but it’s for researching your mind to craft brilliant content and product ideas.
Phase 3) Crafting Your Offer Most people are sitting on a goldmine of skills, experience, and knowledge ( that they can use to help people 1-2 steps behind them). That is what people pay for.Considering 95% of the market are beginners… if you are good at something, you can help them get to your level ( no matter how “basic” you think the information is).Do you not watch basic content all day anyway? People don’t want new information, they want to be reminded of what works. - Use our Minimum Viable Offer strategy to start monetizing immediately (and have something to improve over time, rather than procrastinating until it’s perfect).
- Have a strategy for reducing the time you spend working over time (as you build leverage and improve your offer).
- Know how to create your own customers from the audience you are building, instead of “finding” the right customer for your offer.
- Take the guesswork out of building coaching, consulting, or digital product offers.
Phase 4) Marketing Strategy You aren’t making money because you aren’t promoting yourself or your offer. That is literally the only way to make money. Have something desirable and consistently put it in front of peoples’ faces. In Phase 4, I will show you how to systemize, automate, and be consistent with simple promotions. You will be able to make money without having the chance of forgetting to do it (or letting fear of failure get in the way). - Learn to sell on social media, in your writing, and across different platforms.
- Have consistent sales coming in while focusing on your meaningful message (no need to sound salesy all the time).
- Learn advanced automation strategies that you can implement at your own pace, especially once you validate your offer.
Bonus) The Creator Command Center The Creator Command Center is a Notion template that houses all of the systems. This is how you will manage your brand, content, offer creation, marketing strategy, and systemized promotions for consistent sales. Bonus) Live Product Build & Launch In the first Digital Economics Cohort, I built out my course The 2 Hour Writer.I have videos showing how I build it with the strategies in phase 3 and 4.There is a bonus module that shows how I had an $85,000 launch that resulted in my first $100K month.I did this to prove the strategies inside Digital Economics work if you stick to the plan. And, this past Black Friday, I blew my that monthly high out of the water in 4 days. That’s the power of these strategies if you stay consistent with your life’s work. @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ If you're wondering why our courses are priced lower than the original prices and are feeling a bit suspicious (which is understandable), we can provide proof of the course's contents. We can provide a screenshot of the course's contents or send you a freebie, such as an introduction video or another video from the course, to prove that we do have the course. 2023.06.05 14:34 jacek_ [Rant] On the stability of a Linux desktop
I have been using Linux for more that two decades now (my first distro was Red Hat 7.3), and I have always loved it. For most of that time various Linux distros have been my only OS. In 2006, fascinated by an amazing (and stable) user interface, I migrated to MacOS (that's the time of first Intel-based macs). Even tough I still used Linux extensively, I loved the simplicity of MacOS. Everything just worked! Fast-forward ten years, I needed a new laptop, and Apple devices deteriorated in quality. That was the time of keyboards breaking all the time and touch bars. I decided to make a switch to a Thinkpad and Linux again.
Since then it has been a rollercoaster of emotions. Quickly I realized that Gnome (without modifications offered by Ubuntu and some other distros) is amazing, Fedora offers most stability, and due to having always a new kernel, has no problems with my hardware. So I have been semi-happy with Fedora. With time Wayland matured and fractional scaling became usable, Gnome has improved, and Gnome extensions provided features that I needed (and often that should be part of vanilla Gnome). And with some tips from the Arch Wiki, I make my laptop perfectly usable as a development and every-day use machine.
But... every now and than there's an update that destroys my peace of mind and makes my working environment annoying, and not fully working as intended. Sometimes it is a change to flags in Electron apps, sometimes my bluetooth config is overwritten. But this time, all at once came crashing. Here's what's happening:
- I use VSCode for development (yep, that's an Electron app). It started crashing during a window resize. I found a workaround, that made it "stable", but introduced some graphical glitches with the window.
- I thought, that I had some time, and Fedora 38 has been "stable" for almost 2 months now, so I can just upgrade (from 37). Maybe this will work.
- Upgraded. Sound is not working, Firefox crashes. Some of my Gnome extensions are not compatible with the newest version.
- Found a workaround, rebooted. Sounds is working, Firefox is fine.
- Ok, time to get to work. VSCode still crashes. Thunderbird is not starting.
- Switching to X11. VSCode is working, Thunderbird is working. Now I have no fractional scaling.
- I set font scaling factor in gnome-tweaks, which makes the interface usable (but awkward). Let's get to work. I am starting MS Edge to use MS Teams, and... it is not starting.
- Switch back to Wayland. Fractional scaling makes everything much better to use, MS Edge is working, I am using VSCode with a shoddy workaround, Thunderbird is kinda working (crashes first time, and when I try to move the window to another display).
- Now my display settings reset after sleep sometimes. I need to rearrange displays, and change fractional scaling again and again.
Now I am just feeling like I have had enough. I hate that I waste some much time on things barely working. Is it really too much to ask from Linux to have all the basic things working, fractional scaling, two working browsers, an e-mail app, and the most popular code editor? For years I have believed that there "will be the year of the Linux desktop", that it's almost there. Not anymore. My dreams are crushed.
I hate what Apple devices have become, but I am considering buying that crap again. And all after some great developments in PC laptops like Framework, or modern AMD cpus.
Keep in mind that I do not specifically blame Fedora and it's amazing group of developers and maintainers. Although, Fedora is not perfect, I found it much better than alternatives. It's about many small problems that occur in many places. submitted by
