A halo rewrite idea.

2023.06.05 08:43 DependentAd5017 A halo rewrite idea.

Alright, disclaimer, this is mostly focused on gameplay, so not much of story would be told, you can lay the foundations, I'm just laying my ideas that incorporate the rewrite, I will have a semi story already laid, so you can continue the laying! I'm just dumping my ideas.
I think the story should've had the stuff we had at the start, and midway throw a giant twist happens; the flood returns, then the entire world gets slowly infected, you have a 4 hour timer in real time, and if you don't do jack sh** the ring fully gets infected and basically becomes a zombie game. You can still do the campaign, but the enemies you now face are flood instead of banished. The game would basically become a horror game and new abilities unlock that are focused on the flood. Flood resistance, Flood cleansing, and flood dead shot. Flood resistance is obvious, you take less damage from flood weapons, flood cleansing does more damage against flood, and flood deadshot increasing your aim against flood units.
The outposts in the game would now be infected causing a new type of Outpost, Flood outposts, Basically the reason why you would want to defeat these is that they give you more cover, because now the air is contaminated, your character now relies upon a gas mask that is in your suit. the air time ranges from 10-20 minutes and is like the metro gas mask.
these outposts give you more air. and you can even upgrade your gasmask, the new focus in the game is for survival, master chief has to stop the infection, so the new missions are to head to areas and clean out the infection.
a new feature would also be added; outpost defense, your new outposts would be randomly attacked, depending on the infection meter which is another new thing, the infection meter shows you how bad the infection is, the higher the meter is, the harder the flood is, if the meter is around 100-70 the flood might attack your base, if you don't defend it your base is lost.
which adds more of difficulty, you no longer have ai companies either, since most who don't cover their mouths or noses get infected. which they require a gasmask. you can find gasmask to give to your ai friends. and finally, we come to my favorite part. when the player is halfway through the game and get into a fourrunner area, if your infection meter is 100, there's a chance a python appears, what's a python? it's a giant flood creature that cannot be killed and requires the player to run, or hide, the python adds a element of stealth, if it catches you. your dead. No chance to survive.
this adds a horror element and the lights also go out. so you need to turn on the flashlight, which can alert the python, especially by sound. but if it sees the light, it investigates. during the python attack, the light is your new enemy, and the dark is your friend. if you hide in the dark, the python cannot see you unless you make noise or move around. the python never disappeares and only appears where areas have multiple exits, and entrances, and if they're big enough. This part is especially inspired by amnesia. You can defend yourself against the python, although it won't do much, you can stun the python with fire/plasma weapons, but you cannot kill it.
The way you remove the python is by managing to get to the area you needed to go. Now this will be balanced depending on what difficulty you have on, easy would completely remove the python, flood infection meter would slowly go up. Outposts are incredibly easy to defend/attack. Enemies are weaker, and ai friends no longer get infected.
Normal would be the exact thing I just mentioned previously. Pythons come at 100% infection goes up within a count of 30-20 minutes.
Heroic changes a few things, enemies now use new abilities, the normal flood guys now uses the super jump from halo 3, that super jump where they jump to you and slap you? That returns. New enemies appear which these new enemies are these; the berserker, a giant flood rhino like creatures that rams you and if you aren't careful, can insta kill you. This won't happen if it's horn is not out. It has a retractable horn. Sorry if I'm rambling btw, I just want these ideas acrossed.
The racker, it is a horrific slim beast that has human, and elite, and brute heads/bodies poking out of it, just to terrify you and play mind games. It can grab you, but cannot insta kill you. It has a sweeping attack that you can jump from. Easily, and it can pick up nearby vehicle and throw it at you. You can also dodge these if you have the evade equipment.
And finally the feeder. What does this do? It spawns flood parasites endlessly until you kill it. If you attack it though the parasites will center their attention to you. Especially if your in multiplayer. It also explodes when it dies.
And finally were on legendary. This increases all damage on enemies, more enemies in total, the previous enemies I just mentioned, and the python appears at 60-50 infection meter. It also can now appear in the world, but you can actually defend yourself if your in your base. Which a nearby turrent which is made especially for the python is on the walls on the base. So you can finally defend yourself against it! Yay!
And here's a extra idea that I don't really think fits halo, but I thought it was a cool idea. Basically it's a sanity meter. (Yes I've been playing a lot of amnesia recently.) This sanity meter does not kill you, or makes you seen easily, it makes you hallucinate instead, for example if your at really low sanity, enemies would randomly appear, but they aren't real, if you damage them they turn to dust, they can't hurt you either. Weapons would also turn to dust, or just randomly appear and then turn to dust. The way to indicate that the weapon isn't real is the icon below. It would be orange. Which is a indicator that it isn't real and you should move along. I don't know a idea to bring up the sanity, or how it goes down. But I thought it was a cool idea. I don't think it should be added though.
Overall this is just some Ideas I have, I've been seeing a lot of peoples disappointment towards no flood. So I thought these ideas might satisfy those fans and have them think of a reality of the flood in infinite. I just thought these ideas up. Hope y'all liked this post if you read through all of it. I know I sounded ranty or probably didn't explain the features well, I hope you all understood them well. Have a great day!

2023.06.05 04:13 Nate_Mc44 New Ram design?

When, if ever, should we be expecting a completely new design for a combustion engine Ram?
I say combustion engine because as we all know, come 2024 Dodge will start to push the new EV Ram 1500 which I know that most self respecting Ram owners including myself will be refusing to buy.
Aside from that, I don’t care for the look of the current general body design of Rams (2019 design and onward). I own a 2016 myself and much prefer the look of that era of Rams, but I can’t drive her forever and so I’m patiently waiting for the next gas powered iteration of Rams.
What is the general consensus on the direction that dodge may head with this; will they continue to put out new gas/diesel powered Rams or will they be phasing those out in the next few years to move toward strictly selling the EV?
My opinion is that they would be making a huge business mistake in doing the latter, and again I’m hoping they put out a new looking gas powered truck in the near future.

Which brand of car is most reliable? These are the most dependable vehicles on the market

Looking for a dependable vehicle? Kia, Buick and Chevrolet are some of your best nonpremium bets, according to a new report from J.D. Power.

The analytics company's annual vehicle dependability study found 186 problems per 100 vehicles on average, a slight improvement from last year’s score of 192.

A year-over-year improvement is expected as manufacturers learn from past mistakes, according to Frank Hanley, senior director of auto benchmarking at J.D. Power.

"This means as many consumers are keeping their vehicles for a longer period of time they can expect less issues than they have in the past," he told USA TODAY in an emailed statement. "Looking at what models are holding up over time before purchasing is the best way to avoid problems in the long run."

Car insurance:Car prices may fall this year, but auto insurance will cost more. Here's why.

Recalls:Honda, Kia, Volkswagen among 67,000 latest vehicles on recall

The study, released Thursday, looked at how 2020 model-year cars are performing in terms of quality, appeal and component replacement. The findings are based on responses from more than 30,000 owners fielded in August through November 2022.

What is the most dependable car brand?
Here are the brand rankings based on the number of problems per 100 vehicles, according to J.D. Power’s 2023 U.S. vehicle dependability study. The industry average is 186.

Lexus: 133
Genesis: 144
Kia: 152
Buick: 159
Chevrolet: 162
Mitsubishi: 167
Toyota: 168
Hyundai: 170
Mini: 170
Nissan: 170
Dodge: 172
Cadillac: 173
Mazda: 174
GMC: 175
BMW: 184
Ram: 189
Jeep: 196
Honda: 205
Infiniti: 205
Porsche: 208
Acura: 211
Subaru: 214
Volvo: 215
Volkswagen: 216
Chrysler: 226
Jaguar: 229
Mercedes-Benz: 240
Ford: 249
Audi: 252
Lincoln: 259
Land Rover: 273
The highest-ranking premium brand was Lexus, and Kia was the highest-ranking mass market brand.

Mass market brands had a better overall score than premium brands. The gap between the two has been growing, probably because premium brands are the first to roll out new features and offer more technology.

Car recalls:Honda recalls 114,000 Fit, HR-V models over back-up camera issue

What is the most dependable car model?
The Toyota C-HR and Lexus RX were tied for the highest-ranked models for dependability in the study, each with 111 problems per 100 cars.

J.D. Power declined to share findings on the least dependable models.

What are the most dependable cars and SUVs?

According to J.D. Power’s survey, here are the most dependable models per segment.

Compact car: Kia Forte, followed by the Toyota Corolla and Hyundai Elantra.
Compact premium car: BMW 4 Series, followed by the Volvo S60 and BMW 3 Series.
Compact sporty car: Mini Cooper.
Midsize car: Kia Optima, followed by the Chevrolet Malibu and Ford Fusion.

Large heavy-duty pickup: Chevrolet Silverado HD.
Large light-duty pickup: GMC Sierra, followed by Toyota Tundra.
Midsize pickup: Toyota Tacoma, followed by Chevrolet Colorado.
Minivan: Toyota Sienna, followed by Kia Sedona.

What are some common problems?
The study looks at 184 specific problem areas across nine categories, including driving assistance, infotainment, seats, exterior and interior.

The survey found infotainment systems were the most problematic, with drivers reporting issues with voice recognition, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, built-in Bluetooth systems and touch screens. Overall, the category averaged about 50 problems per 100 cars – almost twice as many as exterior, the next highest category.

2023.06.05 02:37 Curious_Wash9620 Is my auto loan interest rate too high?

Back in February I bought a 2016 Dodge Ram 1500 for about $28k. I had around a 700 credit score at the time and my local small bank gave me a 10.9 % interest rate and my payment is 665 per month. I’m not sure if this is extreme or pretty normal considering how high interest rates are right now. (This is my first vehicle purchase and I had no co signer). I have had capital one credit cards for over a year now and never had a late payment. Would I be better off refinancing with capital one to get a lower rate?

2023.06.05 01:27 BogeysNBrews 2020 Ram 1500 Lone Star (Big Horn) Budget Stock 6 Speaker Upgrade

I did this upgrade in two stages. The first was a complete swap of the existing 6 speakers. I went with Infinity Reference all-around based on recommendations online. I got the required speaker harnesses to use the existing factory connection rather than splicing wires. Here are the speakers installed:
Front Dash: Infinity Reference REF-3032CFX 3-1/2 2-way - $45/pair renewed on Amazon
Front and Rear Doors: Infinity Reference 9633IX - 6" x 9" Three-way - $100/pair on Amazon
A couple of notes about these speakers. They’re extremely bright even when you run them on the 0db mode rather than +3db. There is a switch on the tweeter to change the mode. I first installed the dash and ran it for a couple days waiting for the door speakers to arrive. Just the dash swap made the sound so much better. However, once I installed the front doors I knew instantly it was tweeter overkill. I’ll probably end up swapping the front doors for a 6x9 component driver and let the dash handle the highs. I’ll leave the 3-ways in the rear so passengers get the full range back there.
Second note is that while they sound great and you can hear them hitting some low notes, they’re not loud below the mid-range. Now that my highs were shining I needed to fill in the lows. I settled on a Skar Audio setup to keep my budget in check. I’m not looking to win car audio competitions, just fill out the low end. Here is what I ended up with:
Skar 2019-2022 Ram 1500 (5th Gen) Crew Cab Compatible Single 12" Ported Subwoofer Enclosure - $140
Skar Audio VD-12 D4 12" 800W Max Power Dual 4 Ohm Shallow Mount Car Subwoofer - $100
Skar Audio RP-800.1D Monoblock Class D MOSFET Amplifier 800W - $130
Skar Audio 4 Gauge CCA Complete Amplifier Installation Wiring Kit, SKAR4ANL-CCA - $30
So I’m $645 into this upgrade for a complete speaker overhaul and added 12” subwoofer. I think that’s pretty good for the incredible difference in sound. The box is a perfect fit under the passenger rear seat. My only gripe is the ugly white stitching of the Skar logo on the box. I used a black Sharpie to fill it in the best I could. It’s still visible if you look, but it doesn’t draw attention to itself anymore.
I’ll probably get the bug to add a 4 channel amp for the Infinitys, but it will be really easy since I installed the ANC bypass module under the driver’s seat. The module bypasses the truck’s active noise cancellation while also providing a tap point for the input and output of all of the speakers.
A few tips:
  1. Get a LOC (Line Out Converter) that also generates a remote wire signal. I first bought the PAC LOC 3.2 and I would have had to tap into the fuse box for an accessory remote wire. I returned it for 7.2.
  2. The firewall has a rubber grommet with an extra port for a wire. I had to cut the nipple off the port on the engine side and still had a hell of a time pulling 4 gauge wire through with a coat hanger. Running the power wire was the hardest part of the entire install.
  3. The fuse box lid in the engine next to the battery is a great place to screw down the amp fuse. I also used split loom for the power wire in the engine bay and it looks clean and professional.
  4. I used Posi-tap connectors for the speaker connections between the LOC and the ANC bypass harness. I got everything connected and didn’t hear any sound so double-checked these and sure enough, had to redo them. I may have used too large a size because the pin that punctures the wire kept going to the side of the wire. I had to manually puncture the wire with the pin before screwing the Posi-tap down.
Hope all of this helps somebody else. The system absolutely slams now!

2023.06.04 22:37 sharpiestories Deep truck tune up - what would you do?

I've got a 97' Dodge Ram 1500 with 211,000 miles. I've owned it for about a decade and to be honest I haven't done much in the way of maintaining it unless something is clearly broken. It's been struggling with power for a while going up hills and generally seems to be a bit sluggish. There's no obvious other problems / symptoms at the moment.
My question is - where would you begin to do a deeper type tune up? I imagine I should do the spark plugs and cables (I've never done that to this truck) and replace the air filter. Would you recommend taking apart the throttle body and cleaning it out the sensors / controls? What else would you do to get an old truck running as well as it can?
Thanks!

2023.06.04 21:47 Harbinger_51 I started working at a new airport to get away from the mayhem. I just found a new kind.

I don’t know if any of you have noticed, but the last few years have been wild for airline travel. It seems like not even a week can pass before a new viral video is circulating the internet, showcasing some idiot on a plane or airport screaming, shouting, and even starting fights with other passengers and flight staff for no apparent reason.
I’m sure it’s entertaining when you’re sitting at home and come across these videos while casually scrolling through Reddit or Twitter. You might laugh, or shake your head at the stupidity and not give it a second thought. Unfortunately, this isn’t an option when you’re the one on the job.
I can’t even count the number of times I’ve had to call security to deal with a rowdy or straight-up violent customer in the airport over the last couple of years. Most of the time, the things that set people off are surprisingly minor and avoidable issues.
They want to board now but it wasn’t their turn so they start harassing me and my co-workers. Another passenger looked at them funny so they get into a screaming match. A baby is crying so the grown adult starts whining even louder. The person in front of them took the last chocolate donut with sprinkles from the airport bakery so they start throwing punches.
You would not believe the stuff I’ve seen. Needless to say, I got tired of it. Getting up to go to work, wondering what kind of unhinged maniac was going to make a problem for me lost its appeal. So, I started to look for a new job.
A few weeks into the job search, I began to get doubtful that I would find a suitable replacement. Seeing as my only tangible skills and experience were in the airline industry, I didn’t have much more than other airline jobs within realistic reach. Though I didn’t have a problem with relocation, if it meant I was going to end up in another major airport, I had no interest.
During one 3 am job search after my long shift at the airport, running on nothing but the jittery movements from the room-temperature coffee, I found a new job listing. One Pine Airport, a rural airport in the midwest. I sat up and took another sip of coffee. The pictures for the place gave an idea of the size and it looked tiny. Only a couple of runways, a single terminal, and a cute internal design reflective of the forestry that surrounded it. Perfect for me, I thought. I imagined there would not be nearly as many people to deal with.
I scrolled down to the job details and to my relief, it was for the exact same job I had already been doing. The only difference was that it required frequent night shifts. I had done plenty of night shifts before, but doing a few more of them made no difference to me. Surprisingly listed was the pay. I couldn’t believe my eyes. They were offering more starting than I was being paid at the airport I had been at for over three years.
Now wide awake, I eagerly uploaded my resume, filled out all of the application questions, and even spent the next hour crafting an unnecessary cover letter. I headed to bed with the hope that my days at overflowing airports might be over. The next day as I was getting ready for work, I opened my phone to scroll through notifications and check emails.
To my disbelief, I had one from the job I had applied for only hours earlier. The manager at the airport, who had posted the job, requested an interview over Zoom. I quickly replied and we settled on a time during my lunch break that very day.
The first few hours of work breezed by and as I boarded flight after flight of passengers, I couldn’t help but think about the upcoming interview. When it came time, I was nervous as hell but my fears were diffused within the first minute. A bald, well-kept, and well-dressed man joined the meeting room and greeted me with a warm smile. He introduced himself as James.
I couldn’t have asked for a more friendly interviewer. He welcomed me and after some small talk and a few questions about my relevant experience, he gave an overview of the job's details, that being the same job I already had with better pay but more frequent night shifts. No problem with me. After affirming that I knew all the details of the job, James cracked another wide, friendly smile and asked an unexpected question.
“When can you start?”
I spit the out sip of coffee I had just taken back into the cup. I looked back up at James and tried to find the right words but I was unprepared.
“You uh
aren’t gonna give me a call back like later or something? Don’t you have more interviews and
and paperwork waiting to clear and, and
?”
James waved his hand dismissively at his webcam.
“You’re the only applicant we have, and we couldn’t have asked for a better one. As for the paperwork and such, we’ll figure that out when we figure it out. The job is yours, whenever you can start, that is. Preferably soon?”
Though the feelings of shock and confusion remained, they were pushed to the side by my excitement. Throughout the remainder of our conversation, James and I reviewed our schedules and set up a start date before ending the call. I sat back in my break room chair with a sigh of disbelief and a chuckle.
I am well aware that it is standard to give at least a two-week notice to your employer and moving across states for a job is supposed to take quite a bit of planning but I was dying to get out of my current job. Through both eagerness and maybe a little stupidity, we settled on a day only a little over a week away.
At the end of my shift that day, I let my manager know I had to be done in a week. Though she wasn’t happy, she assured me it wouldn’t be a problem.
My final day was nothing short of horrendous. A couple had come up, demanding and screaming that I refund their tickets for no apparent reason. On top of that, they still wanted to fly. After hearing that no, they would not be able to fly for zero cost, the husband, followed by the wife, both started shouting threats. Security was quickly called to the terminal.
As soon as they arrived, I checked my watch to find that my shift was over. I let out a sigh of relief and excitedly walked away. As deprived of sleep as I was, with a long and undoubtedly stressful drive ahead of me, I was still more energetic and in higher spirits than I had been in a long time.
Surprisingly, the drive went off without a hitch. I arrived earlier than expected and checked into the motel room I rented for the week so I had time to get the move figured out. After dumping a few boxes of personal items and a suitcase of clothes into the room, I turned off the lights. I passed out as soon as my head hit the pillow.
I energetically awoke that evening to prepare myself for my first shift. I quickly got dressed and started the drive in hopes of arriving plenty early. Naively, I hadn’t considered how my unfamiliarity with the roads would slow me down, and after a staggering amount of wrong turns, I arrived at the little airport with only minutes to spare.
The airport was even smaller in person than I had imagined it to be from the pictures. I quickly walked through the entrance and was greeted by the small team of security. After notifying them that I was there for work and that James had been waiting for me, they hurried me through without so much as a question. The security, the architecture, the beautiful scenery that surrounded it, nothing about this airport couldn’t have felt more welcoming.
I walked through to find the single terminal inside, devoid of any passengers, with James sitting behind a counter at the end. After a moment he looked up and upon making eye contact with me, his tired face lit up. I was about to apologize for my tardiness but didn’t have the chance as he rushed to show me the employee locker room where he had my new employee uniform and badge waiting inside my very own locker. He told me to get changed and to meet him outside right away.
I did as he asked and within a couple of minutes, I walked out to find him back behind the console at the counter, gathering his belongings. He noticed me approaching and glanced up, thanking me for showing up and starting so soon as he handed me a fresh cup of coffee. He also apologized for not being able to stick around long for my shift but he sounded sure that he wasn’t all that worried.
“I have to be going now, I’ve been on duty for 17 hours. I know you’re plenty familiar with our systems and software, you know what you’re doing.”
He assured me with a pat on the back before walking out from the desk. He turned and added
“It’ll be a quiet night for you anyway. No flights scheduled. Just sit back, relax, and uh... Oh yeah. Most importantly, I nearly forgot”.
He reached into his bag and pulled out a single sheet of laminated paper and held it in front of me.
“Give this a read as soon as you can. Go over it a few times if you need, don’t deviate from it”.
I took it but before I could even get a look, I noticed James begin to walk toward the exit, along with every single one of the security guards and the cashier who had just closed down the only shop in the airport. I then noticed that all of the scanners and metal detectors at the security gate were shut off. I started to panic.
“Hey! James? Where is everyone going?”
I shouted. The first words I had managed to speak to my new boss since arriving. He stopped and turned back again
“Oh yeah. Another thing I ought to have mentioned. Everyone except whoever is working the night shift in, well, your position takes off right around now. Don’t worry, security will be back sometime around 5 am. You’ve got this place to yourself. Grab a magazine from the little store in there if you get bored. Feel free to snag yourself a couple of snacks too”.
He began to walk away again before briefly turning and pointing at me.
“But before you do anything, read that list. You’ll need it”.
I stood, dumbfounded as I watched my new boss along with all of the other airport staff leave. I started to wrap my head around the fact that I had an empty airport to myself for 10 hours, with nothing to do and no one to deal with, all while I was getting paid the highest wage I had ever earned.
As much as thinking about it delighted me, I turned my attention turned toward the sheet of paper I almost forgot I was holding on to. James said to follow whatever list was on it, so I figured I ought to take a look. I walked behind the airport counter and sank into one of the seats behind it. I took a sip of coffee and finally took a serious look.
A total of 6 rules were neatly spaced on the sheet.
Rule 1: All lights in the airport are to stay on at all times. If one is off, or if you are to accidentally turn one off, turn it back on as soon as possible. If a light seems to be broken or is out and unable to turn back on, calmly exit the area. Report the outage to James or maintenance when possible. Do not listen to the sounds. Do not listen to the voices.
Rule 2: Rule 2 pertains to rainy or stormy weather. If it is raining or storming outside, disregard rules 3, 4, and 5. They will not be a concern during these types of weather conditions. Stay inside at all times. Do not use the men’s restroom and avoid going near it entirely if possible.
Rule 3: Sometime between 11 pm and 1 am, a young woman will walk out of the women’s restroom. She will enter the terminal and sit, occasionally getting up to walk around or change seats. Her name is Elizabeth. She will attempt to make conversation but you must not reciprocate. You may look at her, you may give nonverbal communication such as a head nod, you may write as a means of communication, or you may shake her hand but do not speak to her. If you refuse to speak to her, Elizabeth should be gone within a few hours. If you happen to make such a mistake, go to the men’s restroom and wait for her to leave.
Rule 4: At around one or two in the morning, a janitor in blue coveralls will arrive at the front entrance. Crack open the door and ask for his name. If he says his name is Simon, let him in. If he gives you any name other than Simon, shut the door and lock it without another word and walk away. If the janitor is Simon, he will attend to the janitorial needs of the airport. If he asks to clean where you are standing, oblige him. Simon will not interfere with your duties otherwise. He is not hostile or dangerous. You may engage in conversation with Simon. He will leave the same way he came when he feels it is necessary.
Rule 5: At around 3 am, you may notice that a black and red Cessna Skyhawk has landed on one of the airstrips. You will never see it land, and you will never see it take off. It will just appear when you’re not looking. After spotting the plane for the first time, do not look at it again. Avoid looking in its general direction if at all possible. There is a picture of the exact plane displayed inside the terminal, behind the counter.
Rule 6: Later in the night but sometime before dawn, a group of men claiming to be from TSA may arrive at the airport. They will have their own key and let themselves in. Some could be armed. Often, they exhibit panicked behavior. They may search through the airport, sweep room to room, and ask questions. They are permitted to search anywhere in the main airport building that they please, and you may oblige to any questioning but under no circumstances are they permitted to enter the sky bridge. They will not enter without verbal approval and they cannot harm you.
After reading over it a few times, I set the laminated sheet down and leaned back further into my seat before taking a long sip of coffee, wondering what on earth I had just read. I hadn’t taken James to be the imaginative type. Most of all, I hadn’t taken him to be anywhere near the unprofessional type. Though as I thought about it, it was unusual how rushed this all was and how he left in such a hurry, leaving so few details.
I began to wonder if I was being pranked, I considered that maybe this was all some sort of messed up joke or setup. I ruled that out pretty quickly. This was, in fact, a real airport. I had done plenty of research by the time I got here. At least a few real flights were coming in or going out each day. James has been working here for years and I couldn’t think of a reason why he would jeopardize his job or reputation just to get a scare out of me.
After chuckling to myself at the absurdity of my situation, I decided to indulge and see what would happen. Maybe it was a “test” for me as a new employee. Maybe James wanted to see if I could follow orders.
After glancing at the list once more and realizing the impact rule 2 had on the number of things I would have to keep track of, I brought up my phone to check the forecast. Clear skies, not a chance for rain or storms all night. Great, I thought to myself. I had to watch out for these Elizabeth and Simon characters to show up and I suppose “not” be on the lookout for a random plane to appear on the runway.
I stood up and grabbed my coffee, walking to the glass panes. I took another sip from my cup while admiring the lit runways along the airfield. It sure was a pretty nice sight. As I was raising my cup to finish what was left, I began to hear the click of shoes on the floor somewhere behind me.
Startled, I spun around abruptly, dropping my cup and spilling the remainder of the coffee in the process. At the other end of the terminal seating stood a young woman, around her mid-twenties in my estimation. She was holding two large leather suitcases in each hand and had an old-fashioned sense of style with a skirt and heels. Most surprising was her stunning beauty and welcoming smile.
“Oh I’m sorry dear, didn’t mean to scare you”
She expressed with a sincere tone. I opened my mouth, ready to assure her that everything was fine but I stopped myself. I recalled the list. At this point, I was certain that she was here at James’s request, a paid actor determined to make me break the rules. I was more determined not to. Instead, I simply fixed my posture, straightened my uniform, and looked back with a smile.
She walked to the counter where she placed her leather suitcases on the ground before closing the distance between us.
“Looks like we’ve got this fabulous airport all to ourselves. I am Elizabeth”
She said, reaching out her hand. I shook it, but she didn’t seem quite satisfied.
“And your name?”
I continued to smile and lock eye contact. Her grin grew for a moment before she remarked
“You don’t seem to be much of a talkative one”
And with that, she turned and started to walk away. I returned to my seat behind the counter, watching her closely as I did. Elizabeth proceeded to the unattended airport shop and after a couple of minutes of looking over magazine covers and occasionally taking a peek inside, she returned carrying a small stack of reading material. She approached my counter before placing a National Geographic magazine in front of me.
“I figured you might like this one. Enjoy”
She said, winking before settling on a seat in the first row of the terminal, straight across from where I had been sitting.
Remarkably, her intuition was spot on. I may have lived in cities all of my life but I loved nature, despite how little of it I had gotten to see. National Geographic was a favorite of mine, one I had been familiar with and enjoyed on work breaks from time to time. Rarely was I given this long to be able to read. I was almost tempted to break the rule and thank her for her rather thoughtful act, though I didn’t. I stuck to the rule.
The next couple of hours were uneventful. Elizabeth and I read through our magazines, occasionally looking up at each other to exchange glances and smiles. Within that time, she had attempted to get me to talk at least half a dozen more times. I almost gave in when she asked me if I wanted another magazine.
At a little past 1:30, I could hear a knock at the front entrance. Elizabeth and I both looked before she remarked
“Oh, that must be the nice cleaner man”
With a giggle before returning to her magazine. I walked over to the front doors and sure enough, there stood a man around his mid-thirties, sporting a blue janitor suit waiting patiently at the door. I unlocked the door and opened it. As he took a stride to enter, I remembered the most important detail from rule 4. I closed the door halfway and sternly commanded
“Wait”
The man looked up at me with a surprised look. I asked him the question.
“What is your name?”
The man stared back at me as an innocent smile formed on his face.
“I’m Simon!”
He announced excitedly.
“The Janitor here. Did James let you know I was coming tonight?”
I stood there for a moment, thinking over the rule, before nodding my head and opening the door once again to let him in.
Once inside, Simon walked with purpose to the janitor's closet which was positioned near the men’s restroom. I followed him somewhat suspiciously for the next few minutes as he began to clean but I eased up once I got the feeling that he was just the janitor around here and that James made up the whole “ask for his name thing” to make into one of his rules.
I returned to my counter in the terminal and continued to read. Occasionally, Simon would pass by, off to do his duties in some part of the airport or Elizabeth would stand up to look at the various pictures and paintings on display in the terminal. A good half an hour of this would go on before Simon approached the terminal counter with his mop in hand. He seemed to be eyeing up the two leather suitcases Elizabeth had set there.
Assuming he wanted to clean where they were, I got up to move them. I grabbed each one by the handle but failed to lift them off of the ground. Confused, I stepped back to see if they were stuck on something. They were not. Just two suitcases, left right where Elizabeth had set them.
I tried to lift just one. Again, I failed. I tried both hands, putting my back and legs into it with all that I had. It wouldn’t budge.
I looked back up at Simon who nodded his head in Elizabeth’s direction. I turned to look at Elizabeth, who after noticing my stare, and my apparent inability to move her luggage, smiled and stood up.
“Let me get that for you”
She insisted. With ease, she lifted both leather suitcases and moved them closer to her seat before lowering them, this time letting them drop a few inches. When they hit the ground, a boom echoed through the airport and I flinched in surprise. I looked back at Simon, who hadn’t seemed shocked at all. He just continued to mop.
I slowly made my way back to my seat, not taking an eye off Elizabeth for one second as I did. After a few minutes, she looked back up from her magazine, noticed my stare, and returned to her reading with a grin. She seemed to find my shock amusing. Eventually, Simon noticed my surprise as well. He paused his mopping and approached me before raising his head.
“I know, I know. Stick to the rules and everything will be just fine, trust me”
He stated quietly. I nodded my head in response.
Simon went back to his cleaning. A few minutes passed before Elizabeth had something new to say.
“What a remarkable aircraft!”
She exclaimed, looking out the glass panes facing the runways. I followed her gaze to the lone, black, and red airplane positioned on the runway. I turned around, looking at the picture displayed behind me. It certainly looked like a match. I turned back to the window and felt my heart sink. A silhouette of a person now stood next to the plane, facing the airport and the windows of the terminal.
“Stop looking at it”
Simon sternly muttered from behind me. I looked back at Simon who quickly cowered, seemingly ashamed to have raised his voice at me but I was grateful he had. I read over rule 5 again, specifically where it stated to not look at the plane twice. I murmured insults at myself under my breath but they didn’t have much room between my now heavy, frantic breathing. My eyes darted through the other rules. I chose to focus on that sheet of paper. At least it was something other to look at than the plane outside.
This went on for a good ten minutes or so and my breathing started to calm down. I had begun to pray in my head that whoever and whatever that was would go away when Elizabeth suddenly approached my counter. I snapped my head up in a jittery movement to make eye contact with her.
“I’m going to get some more reading material. Want another one of those?”
She asked, reaching a hand out to my National Geographic magazine. I looked up and nodded, forcing a smile. As She moved away, my gaze didn’t, and once again I found myself looking at the plane on the runway, the silhouette now standing hundreds of feet away from the plane, even closer to the building, and still staring in my direction.
Chills ran up my spine as I snapped my gaze back to my desk. I began to shake with fear and the manic breathing returned. Moments later, Elizabeth returned and placed a new magazine on the counter before running a hand over my shoulder, seemingly to comfort me. Simon then put his hand on my back.
“He’ll be gone soon and so will the plane. Just don’t look at it again”
He assured me.
“Mind if I clean here?”
He then asked.
I got up and walked to the end of the counter, watching Simon thoroughly clean the floor before I looked up and let out a soft
“Thank you”
He nodded and smiled back.
“What was that?”
Elizabeth asked. I turned towards her.
“Oh, I was just thanking Simon for-”
My error occurred to me before I could finish speaking. My eyes locked on Elizabeth as she stood up from her seat and her smile faded. Her eyes and nose began to bleed profusely as she started to sob, lightly at first, then hysterically. She let out a bellowing screech, a mix of pain and anger. She picked up one of her suitcases and hurled it at me, I barely dodged the ridiculously heavy object before it crashed into the wall behind me.
Luckily I was quick thinking this time and made a run for the men’s restroom recalling rule 3. She chased after me but I slammed the door shut in her face and locked it. Elizabeth pounded on the door with furious anger a few times but gave up quickly.
“So that’s how you dance, is it love? I can play that game”
She snickered before flipping a light switch outside of the bathroom. The clicking of her shoes faded away. A few minutes of silence passed before laughter started to become audible from the other side of the door.
One voice grew to two, two voices grew to three, three grew to ten. While others continued their now hysterical laughing, some began to scream. I crumbled to the floor, covering my ears as the voices went on, only stopped by another flip of the switch. Light beamed through the bottom of the door.
“It’s over now. She’s gone, and so is the plane. I’ve gotta be getting out of here soon”
Simon’s calm and friendly voice called out. I reluctantly exited the bathroom and followed him back to the counter, where he had prepared another coffee for me.
“Wish I could have done more there but you’ll come to find out that when Elizabeth gets angry, you just gotta let her do her thing”.
I looked up at him, still with my distraught face, at a loss for words. Over the next few minutes, Simon finished cleaning Elizabeth’s blood from the floor before putting everything back into the janitor's closet. He looked down at his watch.
“I better get out of here. Good luck with the rest of your night. I hope I’ll be seeing you soon”.
He said, letting out a sigh as he again looked at me in pity. I think he knew how shaken up I was. It was like he had seen people in my position before. Something told me he doesn’t have a choice on when he leaves. After I watched him exit the door, I returned to my seat behind the counter. I began to feel alone and afraid, but the loneliness wouldn’t last at least.
Only minutes after Simon left, the doors swung open and men in tactical gear, most of which had their faces covered in masks and goggles, rushed through the door. I sprung back up from my seat and watched as they did, with not much else I could do. They swept room to room, checking every nook and cranny at gunpoint, ignoring my existence at first.
As they cleared the entire building, the twenty or so armed men made their way to the terminal seating area. A lone man in a suit, whom I had not noticed enter, made his way to the front of the group.
“I’m with TSA, I’m going to need you to answer some questions for me”
He demanded. I nodded in affirmation.
“How many individuals have you seen in this airport since the security team left the building?”
“Besides myself, 2 Inside, one outside”
I answered confidently.
“Was the individual outside next to a black and red Cessna Skyhawk?”
“Yes”
I again responded confidently. The man in the suit nodded and paused for a moment before making another demand.
“We’re going to need to search the air bridge”.
I glanced back at the sheet of rules on the counter. Making sure I had read it right before. I took a step forward and straightened my uniform.
“No”
I replied. The man in the suit looked irritated.
“If you do not step aside and give us permission to search, I’m afraid I’ll have to detain you”.
Already tired and worn out, I wasn’t going to break the last rule. I decided to give a not-so-smart remark to the man in the suit
“Looking a little well-armed for TSA, wouldn’t you agree?”
He ignored my comment.
“Last chance, step aside”
“No”
Again, irritated by my response, the man in the suit turned to his right and raised his chin to give a signal. Gunshots rang out and I collapsed to the floor. I felt as though my life left my body before it all faded to black.
The next thing I remembered was the feeling of my hand gripping a water bottle. Then came James’s voice.
“I see you made it through the first night intact. Looks like you got to meet Simon. He’s a nice guy, you’ll get to like him. And Elizabeth, she’s
well, she’s something else, isn’t she?”
I opened my eyes and looked up at James.
“Am I dead?”
I asked in a raspy voice. James chuckled in return.
“No! No, you did great. You’re fine. It does, however, look like you might have been a little assertive to our undead TSA special forces wannabes. I would recommend sticking with the less aggressive tone and word choices, maybe I ought to edit that into the rules sheet
In any case, they can’t hurt you but they can still get a jump out of you, as you saw”.
Once again, I was at a loss for words. I slowly made my way back to my feet from the ground and looked at the sunrise over the airfield. James held out an envelope for me. I opened it, revealing a stack of crisp $100 bills.
“A little bonus for your first night. It sure is a lot to go through for the first time but I promise, you get used to it all”.
I turned to James with an angry look and finally spoke up.
“What the hell is wrong with you? What makes you think it’s okay to put someone through this without any warning? I'm done, keep your damn money. I’m gonna go call the cops”.
I started to walk towards the exit when James stepped in front of me.
“Look, I know it isn’t fair for you but it wasn’t fair for me either. It wasn’t fair for any of us. It’s not okay, I know. But what do you expect me to do? Someone needs to be here for the night shift. You wouldn’t believe any of this if I told you ahead of time. You would have thought I was some sort of nutjob and the police will think of you the same if you tell them. I needed you to see it for yourself”
James was starting to get worked up and stoppeto breatheth before continuing.
“This money is yours, no strings attached. You’re free to leave now and never come back, there will be no shame in it”
I also started to calm down but I couldn’t bring myself to look James in the eye yet.
“If you choose to stay, I’ll see you in my office to finish up your paperwork”.
And with that, James walked away. Facing the front of the airport, I watched the first passengers of the day come through the entrance. I just stood there for a few minutes. Whether I was ready for this job or not, I knew right then I sure as hell wasn’t going back to another overcrowded city airport.
I turned and headed for James’s office.

2023.06.04 21:16 GIVE_LEBEL Pipeline: The Surf Coaster Review [SeaWorld Orlando]

So today I was fortunate enough to be able to ride Pipeline. I only got one ride on it but I’ll do my best to offer a solid review.
RIDE AREA This is actually pretty well done. I was decently surprised by the amount of effort SeaWorld put into the location. There’s seagull SFX playing when walking to the ride area, sand plots around the ride, surf music, as well as the signature splashdown element. The only complaint I have is the lack of shade. This area is very open to the sun, and I can imagine this will lead to a few problems over the summer. Overall 7/10.
QUEUE This is the lacking part. Although they do have fans that do provide a good amount of cool air and several umbrellas over the queue, it’s like playing dash and dodge in the queue. Stay out of the sun! Overall 3/10
STATION Very well organized. They do designated row assignments for this coaster and it helps with capacity I imagine. The station is well covered and has decent AC. The ride announcer also has this surfer dude accent and it helps the atmosphere. Overall 9/10.
SEATS Gentlemen, I can confidently say that you will not have to worry about your future kids coming out weird after this coaster. It is very comfortable down there. That being said, the harnesses are arguably one of the worst restraints I’ve ever had to wear. I’m 5’8” and they really dig into your shoulders. While waiting on the final brake run I found myself fighting with the restraints to not crush my shoulder blades. Overall 7/10.
SUSPENSION This greatly helps with the ride experience. This being my first stand-up coaster I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the ride experience was improved with this. Standing airtime is such a novel concept and I love it. Overall 10/10.
LAUNCH AND LAYOUT The launch is decently punchy. Compared to rides like TRON it is slightly more punchy but don’t expect anything too aggressive. The layout is decent given that it’s a prototype coaster. This ride is mixture of floater and ejector. There is one last moment on the ride that will catch you off guard. Be ready for it. Overall 9/10.
OPERATIONS Given that this is a SeaWorld park and not Universal, ride operator times won’t be the best. However, the ride ops for Pipeline were doing a great job. Hopefully they can maintain their speed. Overall 9/10.
FINAL THOUGHTS Overall this coaster is a fantastic addition to the park. Personally I rank it just under Mako, which is the #1 best coaster at that park, at least for me. I do recommend this ride although it suffers from poor restraints and a lackluster queue. Final rating 8/10. Surfs up!

/------------/
4-LOM rolled up to the holotable, the aging shipbuilder looking over the various fleet and division commanders.
4-LOM was an old Mk1 astro robot, his main body was a sphere, with four mechanical arms extending from his body, two large and bulky, and the other two smaller, more nimble and accurate, more dexterous, with a cylindrical lower body leading down to his treads, which were angular, tank like in shape, designed for heavy lifting. His head was flat, with a duo of square optics, a set of welding shields flipped up, ready to flip down when and where needed. His backpack was open, with tools sticking out, ready to be grabbed and used.
Looking around, he noted that the Saurians had their Admiral, a middle age Rox, their massive, tyrannasauric form still managing to tower over most of the others, even in holo, while Serano stood next to him. Nearby, Hota sat, nursing a coffee, rubbing his head, while one of the chief science officers hologram glanced at him nervously.
Another door entered, and a Mk12 frame entered, standing at the table. At first glance, the frame looked pristine, but 4-LOM wasn't fooled. He wasn't a shipwright for nothing, and he could see the pitting under the paint where plasma weaponry had uselessly splashed off, taking with it little layers of metal with it. Despite how new the frame looked, it was clear it had seen some action, recently as well, judging by the fresh coat of paint.
More holograms of fleet officials, and the bridges, or representations of their ships, flickered in above their shoulders. Serano looked like he had an old sailing ship floated there idly, a representation of the Enterprise. Some had wasps, while one captain had a cartoonish Barbus fish, with an old style white sailors cap and a belt of dynamite.
And then a small black hole flickered into view in front of his faceplate, making him roll back with a start. Getting a good look at the now pulsing black hole, he seemed to frown, one of his welding shields rising higher to simulate a eyebrow raise
.. "Horizon? Is that you, little lass?" He said, with a thick, Scottish accent as his other shield rose up to join the other in shock.
The holographic black hole bobbed up and down in the air, two arms extending out from its corona and spun, as if to represent it, no, her, spinning in happiness. For a moment, 4-LOM was silent, before he began laughing, reaching up, even as his servo passed through the holo. "Ach, what I wouldn't give ta be in the Link with ye, lassie! I'm glad ye survived." He said, as the little ever hungry representation of the ship spun around him, before it shot off, floating near the Mk12, who looked at it.
The 12s head tilted more, as it listening to what the ship was saying, while 4-LOM felt a bit of possessiveness flair. Horizon was one of HIS creations, his and his wife's. Their ships were like children for them. Rolling over, he mentally began preparing a bit of what his wife would call the shovel talk, something they used to do with Captains that took on their vessels

"Did you need something, Grandfather?" The machine said, domed head snapping to his, taking the wind out of his sails, and stare blankly at the taller, thinner machine.
Behind him, he heard Serano chuckle behind him, even as the Rox raised an eyeridge, while the Saline sat his mug down and placed his head in his hands.
"Grandfather- oh. I see
." He said, gaze turning flat as he gave a glare at Horizon. "I see the little gremlin is still able to make me short a fuse or two. Void knows Maria's hair turned white before she had to move bodies due to someone's antics." The little black hole pulsed sharply, as if squawking. "Would have appreciated a warning she made herself a captain
. Lassie, ye best be teaching him self preservation instincts." Catching the snort from the Rox and the sigh from Serano.
Slowly, his head turned around to face the two, one shield twitching, and finally saw Hota looking up with a flat look. "Too late on that one. I'll pass you the after action report later, AFTER the meeting." Serano said, hiding a smile. "If you want a first hand account, ask Hota. From what I understand, he had a front row seat for the Chaos the two caused."
She wasn't a little ship anymore, she wasnt- ah kriff it all. She was still his little lass. He'll talk with her later
preferably with Maria there
..after he grabbed his wrench and had a
.. talk
.. with whoever was their crew.
/------------------/
All the admirals and fleet commanders were soon in place, Asimov standing to the side, near the Admiral Serano, Horizons representation floating next to his head as his own panned about, looking at the assembled species. Several robotic ones, not Astro Robot series, called Glinch, looked at him curiously, while he picked out several different
.Saurians, a few Roxes, several Trikes.
Several were pale, white skinned humans, bald, be they male or female. Clones, like himself, but with organic bodies, accompanied by nat-born humans, and several more advanced Astro Robot series units, these ones looking everything from near human, to large and bulky, armed with cannons, inbuilt missile launchers on their upper arms, and massive treads, or slimmer, almost skeletal ones with modules that could be swapped out at a moments notice.
"I appreciate ye all for coming on such short notice" 4-LOMs voice said, cutting over the gentle hubbub of the side conversations. "I had hoped that we wouldn't be facing them again, but here we are." The robot said as one of his smaller limbs tapes a command into the console, pulling up images of Everwatch stations current
condition. "Those of yeh from Federation space are more familar of the old stories, battle videos and the like. The Demons, as the Human Federation calls them, have been returned. It's only thanks to the work of Representative Hota that we have this information
.. and had stumbled across an old Ace that had woken back up in time for this chaos." 4-LOM said, nodding to the Saline, getting the attention of his compatriots, who he shook his head to.
"Our opponents are equipped with biotech vessels, and are known for appropriating technology to forcibly integrate it with their own. Which means keep an eye out for a worse hodgepodge of weapons than a pirate vessel after its crew hits a pound of Spice and then gets drunk at a star port." 4-LOM said dryly, as various, old, images of the vessels and a few of the newer ones. "That being said, expect the sheer firepower jammed onto each of these ships to be on the higherside. However, they need long recharge periods, likely due to whatever power source used overloading, or the capacitor banks running dry and needing to recharge. Don't be fooled, they do have some form of biological armament, acid spitters, spike launchers, the works." He said, as images flicked up organic turrets, tentacles, and what looked like maws.
"As of right now, several of our larger vessels are being inspected and repaired, resupplied, and upgraded as needed. Several older vessels are being pulled out of mothball for the same reason. All civilian vessels are being drafted for emergency roles, receiving refit with hardware that will allow them to fight in a pinch, though their primary objective will be escorting transport ships and acting as emergency evacuation ships. We won't be expecting them to fight, but we need every ship we can get."
An image flickered into view of what amounted to the humans old museum of warships and deep space vessels, revealing it to be a hive of activity. Many other races had laughed at humanity for keeping their old vessels, rather than scrapping them, but now, now there was a reason why humanity had.
"Patrol fleets are to be at least one Saline Sensor ship, two to three Buckler class Trike Shield Bearers, one Rox Artillery ship, one Vohle capable human vessel, Two human PT ships, and three Raptor Swift claws." 4-LOM said, "these things aren't to be taken lightly. Sensors pick them up, call it in and engage. Stall for time if needed for reinforcements to arrive. Intercept fleets are to consist of five Trike Aegis class Shield Bearers, six Swift claws, one Rox supercarrier, three Rox artillery ships, two Saline Auxiliary ships, one Saline Medical cruiser, one Human Vohle Super-carrier, eight human PT ships, two Human Iowa class destroyers." The elderly bot belted out, making several Captains and admirals wince. Those weren't lightweight ships. The 'patrol' fleet could have been considered a planetary invasion force.
Before anyone could make any arguments or questions as to why the fleets were set to the Human classic of 'Maximum Overkill', and before any more ridiculous fleet deployments could be called out, a slightly panicking human sprinted into the room. "Sir! Confirmed hostile assault on Tisan-4" the human said, breathing heavily. "The Demons made planet fall, looks like a small invasion force that had left before the incursion field went up."
4-LOM stared
.and then sighed. "Well, Caliburn had been itching for a fight." He sighed and placed a servo over his optics.
/-----------------------------------/
WARNING: Hostiles detected. Match confirmed; species D-65.
Threat level:Apollyon. Combat systems:unlocked.
That was what appeared on the Colony Managers terminal as alarms screamed across the Colony, alerts screaming on PADDs, sirens spinning as bunkers opened up.
An aging Wargen bared his teeth as he rapidly tapped at his terminal, as the younger human clone stood grimly at her manager's terminal.
"Civilians are filling out the bunkers, tunneling charges are set and ready to clear escape routes." The elderly, wolf like Wargen said, his muzzle splitting into four as he spoke, one part vertical, the other horizontally. "Colonial militia are manning hard points and connecting to systems now."
"Understood." The Colony manager said and let out a long breath, before opening the PA system. "All hands, brace for Activation procedure. I repeat, all hands, brace for activation procedure." She said, before securing herself in on one of the chairs, even as the commander buckled himself in across from her, even as terminals all around them flickered and the building shuddered and shook, new lights came online all over.
"And the other races call our alliance insane for building the bunkers" The Wargen muttered under his breath as the command room became a flurry of activity, sensor teams working together in an attempt to get data on their opponents. "Our people are safe. That's what matters, commander." The clone said softly, looking at her long time friend, even as the hidden defense system of the Colony woke up.
/------------/
Outside, the demonic army approached, on a slow, steady March, disgruntled at the lack of organics they had found to use. They needed biomass to fuel their war machine, to create their bases, their armies, their ships. And while they didn't care much about the sheer number of ships they lost during planet fall thanks to the orbital defenses, they needed to deal with the local defense computers. There had to be a way to broadcast an all clear signal and allow their other ships past.
Before them sat a large, fortified structure, looked like a massive cathedral, really. The irony was not lost on them as ports on the castle-like structure opened up, and began spitting metallic shells at them, exploding after punching through their infantry, leaving craters behind, destroying more of their forces.
The ground shook as their massive siege beast began forming from the splattered biomass, like some strange, oozing horror, slowly forming into a quadropodic creature.
The beast was mostly just a giant mouth in legs, with a long, worm like body lined with eyes, teeth, spikes, and tendrils, flinging said teeth at the structure.
Warlord Gistle ground his teeth as he stared at the cathedral as it held its own, his forces decimated by the attempted rain of metal. Said rain changed to one of scalding plasma as the castle changed tactics to try and burn the bodies to prevent them from forming additional, stronger units.
"Battle lord." Hissed one of the smaller battle chiefs said, as they stepped up next to Gistle. "The Seekers have not located where the miserable Frails have hidden themselves. Our efforts would be best put to entering the fortress ahead." The chief said, pointing at the massive fortress as the siege beast brushed off the weapons fire.
"No need, we will be inside soon en-" Came the guttural voice of the Warlord, before it was interrupted by a computerized voice, echoing out.
"THREAT ASSESSED. ASSUMING COMBAT MODE."
There was a rumble, everyone grabbing onto the stablest thing around them as the ground tore apart, the siege beast stumbling back, as the building tore up its own foundations as steam hissed out, and part of the building lifted up, and then slammed into the ground, and then the other side, slowly pulling itself up
.and up
and up

The structure wasn't a structure. Not any more. Towering over them, looking like a massive hunchback stood the cathedral, it's towers opening, revealing to be cowling around massive artillery cannons. It's arms, once covered with flat pillars, opened up to reveal a set rotating barrels, slowly spinning up, and a bulky duo of MAC batteries on the other arm. Sticking off the side of its upper arms were smaller hardpoints, each turret armed with four barrels, small and accurate, sniping ground units with horrifying accuracy, the soft metal shells ripping away to reveal their incendiary cargo held within steel mesh, allowing the coilguns to spit them out rapidly.
The head section looked like a sphere with three optics in a triangular formation, around a cannon that locked onto the siegebeast and whined, arcing brightly, before it fired, a bright flash seen as the cannon went off, it's round leaving behind a trail of fire as it raced through the air, punching through the beast, making it howl, and began trying to heal the injury that pierced it, ripping open a hole below it.
It's bipedal legs were thick, armored, and just as equally armed, it's lower legs armed with rotary cannons that spun, the lower pair foring a heavy stream of plasma, one barrel firing and then cooling as it spun, the others keeping the pace up, while above them, physical artillery was spat out, helping pierce armor for the plasma to scorch and burn to uselessness. More cannons sat on the sides and back of its legs in, taking aim at the surrounding armies, making sure to add on their screeches of rage.
Hanging off the underside of the platform that held the Cathederal sat more turrets, each swiveling around and adding to the chaos, their mini MAC armament chattering as they fired, picked a new target and fired again. On the top of the platform were AA cannons, taking aim and firing into the air, altering the timing of their rounds so that they acted as impromptu artillery, while more cannons, on four turrets, covered the monstrosities back, preventing them from sneaking up behind it, as if the cannons on the back of its legs weren't enough to cover it.
"TARGET ACQUIRED."
Warlord Gistle hissed in shock. The Frails had been LIVING in a Siege beast of their own!? Hidden partially underground, deceiving them to make it seem as if it was nothing more than a fortification!?
"Have all expendable units merge with our Siege beast, NOW! if the frails continue to pick our forces off one by one, they will never be able to reinforce our beast after they fall!" Gistle roared, even as around him the battle chiefs barked out the orders

..
/-------------/
The massive machine stared down at the hostile forces as they turned into a thick, biological slurry, short of the Demons themselves, and oozed towards the horror before it.
The monster seemed to absorb the substance on contact, growing larger and larger with each passing moment, howling and hissing.
He could feel his crew cursing in their heads, humans and otherwise, lighting the slurry up with plasmafire, burning some of it, but not enough. Caliburn agreed with them, as his Plasma getting cannon spun up, the five barrels glowing brightly, the heatsinks by the ends of the barrel glowing as the machine poured plasmafire from the barrels, searing into the beasts body, burning it up as it grew, stunting its growth heavily, and forcing it to consume more biomass to make heavy, chitenous armor, layers burning away under the assault.
Caliburn could feel the dust coming off as his gears spun, and he stepped forward, swinging the glowing arm as it cooled down, making the horror screech as he spun his upper body to add to the force of the blow, digging the glowing heating into the beast's face and knocking it back, buying time for his crew to deal with the horrific slurry around them, which still tried to fuse with the horror, chasing after it with a single minded determination.
As his upper body slowed down and he was facing forward again, he saw the beast setting up, snarling. His other arm came up, and he could feel his capacitors burning as he began firing his MAC arm at it, the massive, vehicle sized slugs punching into the beast, knocking it back farther, punching holes in the chitin it tried to grow as armor, making it hiss and move rapidly, trying to put distance between itself and the machine.
Unfortunately, the beast had the advantage in land speed, as it had four legs, while Caliburn only had two and lumbered slowly forward, his aging systems relishing the taste of combat after so long. And now he had far better weapons then a simple crane arm, like he had last time he fought a creature like this.
Because the beast had put distance between itself and him, it managed to absorb the last of the biomass, and began bounding forward, it's maw open, teeth spinning like some sort of Cuisinart
.
A target he couldn't miss. His head cannon barked again, not as powerful as last time, but this time, he wasn't trying to rip it apart from the inside. The shell detonated on contact with the teeth, shredding them, tearing into the soft flesh within, making the beast howl and close its maw, it's chitin armor weathering the plasma splashing off, hardened to withstand the smaller weapons fire his crew spat at the creature.
His arms pulled their shrouding back around them, as he drew back and swung, hard, again using his body spinning to his advantage, striking the beast, the heavy weight of the heatsink and the weapon itself burying the shroud covered arm inside, the end opening up. Unfortunately, thanks to the partial shrouding, he wouldn't be able to spin his cannon, but all he needed was one shot inside it, and let it fly, ripping his arm out as it howled, smoke billowing from its new hole it tried rapidly to heal.
The tendrils it had tried to dig into his arm burned away as he kicked it up from below and began unloading both arms, fully unshrouded, the heat coming off both of them making steam hiss up into the air, as the beast took a heavy slug and then a plasma bolt, one after the other, deep into its stomach, sending it onto its back.
Loud popping sounds were heard as its limbs reoriented, allowing its former belly to become its back, the holes sealing slowly as it circled the walking cathedral, even as Caliburn scanned it, his upper body following its every movement. His command crew were breaking down every schematic and scan he gave them, working hard to figure out a way to kill the horror.
In the mean time, Caliburn and his crews would do their damndest to stall the beast and continue on their current plan. Burn it down, slowly.
He could feel his crews tracking the retreating demon forces, listening to the mental chatter within him as the artillery crews happily worked together to figure out their path, searching for the enemy command position, even as sensor crews watched as the rapidly approaching flood of biomass and machinery charged for them, some of the artillery crews already letting loose N-4 shells, the 'super-napalm', as the crews nicknamed them, impacting and exploding, burning into the biomass, unquenchable, even as the biomass attempted and failed to smother the burning substance, only serving to make it worse, melting the weaponry it carried with it.
The only reason why the crews could get away with it was because the biomass wasn't near the Bunkers exits or near infrastructure. Or Burnable items.
Command soon had a viable target, a sort of brain mass it had, separated throughout its body in a vain attempt to make sure it could still operate when a few of them were destroyed.
Several had been burned away by the plasma bolt going off inside of it, but many more remained, and it was attempting to make more/replace the burned away ones. They needed to eliminate the command signal
.
Jubilation and grim satisfaction bloomed in his sensor and artillery crews, as he felt the mad scramble for bunker busting shells, before they were let loose into the air. Even as he blocked a tail strike from the beast and managed to crush its head under one foot, letting his landing engines ignite for the first time in decades to burn the creature more, his crews targeted the command bunker, shelling it with deadly accuracy, smoke rising from the hill they were tucked away behind in the distance, making Caliburn burn with satisfaction and praise for his crew.
/---------------------/
Gistle ran as fast as his hooves could move him, teeth barred as he snarled.
Around him, their command temple shook and shuddered, veins bursting, cables arcing wildly as the biomass contracted involuntarily or simply sagged, turning to biomass.
"Warlord, they are heavily shelling our position, we won't be able to retreat at this rate!" Hissed one of the Battle Chiefs at his side, hissing in fear, even as he snarled at the Pitiful, compared to him, creature. "We won't be taking everyone, only the essentials. The Everlasting King must be notified of this development. King be damned, the frails took the time to prepare for our arrival again." He growled as he came out to a hanger area, and ran into a small, fast ship, even as the others ran into larger, bulkier, slower ships.
Soon, the chitin that served as the door opened, and they shot out, erratically flying, trying to avoid the artillery shells, and now AA fire joining the fray.
He kept close to his compatriots, using them as a living shield as he twisted the small vessel around, smirking as he dodged the fire while they took it..
They were almost to space, soon, they could tear a Gate and get the fleet-
Reality tore open above him as a massive ring shaped vessel pushed itself into real space, disgorging hundreds of smaller vessels, bearing down on their positions, others engaging the floating fleet around them with aggressive assault runs, the sudden appearance in the system allowing them to have the element of surprise.
Weapons fire began filling the space around f them, tearing at their vessels faster then they could repair them as little, frail vessels zipped in and out of line of fire faster then they could shoot, track, or react, unloading slugs, plasma, torpedoes in a flurry of activity before diving away, allowing their munitions to wreak havoc amongst them.
Already, the larger vessels were disabled before Gistle managed to sacrifice one, smirking as it warped, it's biomass fueling the Gate, as he flew through, hoping he was in friendlier territories, unaware of a sensor torpedo flying in behind him.
/------------------------/
Down below, on the surface, Caliburn flung back his opponent again, arms blazing as he shelled it.
It was bigger then it had been, managing to absorb the biomass from the surviving landing ships and the remains of the command center they shelled out. It's armor was thicker, and was flinging out dozens, hundreds of calcium spikes, spitting its unknown energy weapons, only to splash off his shields, for the energy weapons, and his ar.or foe the calcium spikes, even as his weapons screeched.
The beast had holes all over its chitenous armor, from his shells punching in, or his artillery crews shelling the beast, his plasma following close behind as he sought to burn the creature out from the inside, going so far as to ram his plasma cannon inside and unload it, the rotating barrels helping tear it up from the inside as the heat sinks burned it.
Ships began dropping down from above, doing strafing runs, dropping smaller caliber explosives, distracting the beast as he tore another hole in it by spinning his upper body, one shrouded cannon arm striking the beast and ripping in, just as a gunship fired a Cleaner into it, just before it healed.
A burning flash of light, a horrific scream from the beast as it howled, body jerking as the explosive did its job
. Before it swung down, still alive, though just barely, it's armor shattering rather then buckling on the next strike from Caliburn, a facsimile of a uppercut, before the barrels let loose again, even as the plasma cannon dumped bolt after bolt into its lower body, searching for, burning the neural clusters as he found them.
The beast wrenched itself away from his grasp, snarling as it looked at him, the beast snarling as it tried to heal from the most recent injuries.
Caliburn felt his crew snarling back, his cannons swiveling around as they gave their response in munitions as he lumbered forward, the ground shaking from his steps and the escape ships erupting out of the ground around them, his rotary cannon screaming as it fired, the MAC on the other arm barking as he hit it again and again as it charged forward.
The beast no longer cared for its injuries, all it cared was to take the metal monster before it down, spitting acid out of it as it tried, and failed, to blind the machine, even as said machine swung its smoldering plasma cannon up and brought down the burning barrels down on its head, smashing it into the ground, pinning it there as it's crew continued shelling it out ruthlessly.
Caliburn refused to let the beast survive, he refused to let the thing get to the civilians. His crew snarled their agreement as the beast tore the pinned head off its body, even as it burned away to nothing, and tried to charge again, blindly, only to smash against the MAC arm and receive a pair of heavy slugs to the neck stump for its troubles, sending it somersaulting back, trying to reform its head.
It was much, much smaller now, now matching Caliburns size, due to all the biomass loss, it's head reforming as it snarled.
Caliburn seemed to roll his pauldrons and twitched his MAC, as if saying 'come at me'. The beast howled and charged forward, razor sharp tentacles erupting from its sides, whipping about wildly, only for turret crews to blast the tentacles off at the base, and for his artillery crews to shell it down from above, flattening it into the ground again with explosive shells.
Again, the beast began pulling itself out of the ground, only for another strafing run from aircraft , this time dropping standard napalm canisters onto the beast, making it howl as it healed around the canisters, and began burning from within.
It thrashed and writhed, tail and body whipping about, even as Caliburn kept firing, not letting up, shells puncturing the chitin bubble it was trying to form around the napalm to contain it, keeping it burning into the beasts body.
At last, the beast tried to fling itself at Caliburn, thinking that it could at least burn out the mechanical monster with it, only for Caliburn to swing and strike it, flinging it away again, the beasts body unable to get back up, and laid there, slowly burning away at last

2023.06.04 12:15 pietr343 I [M18] was a massive incel my whole life and got out through some lucky breaks in friends and family. I am much better now and decided to reflect and give some insight into this hellscape some people get themselves into.

So I am mostly doing this to help people get out of that mindset and bad habits. Alt account and not using any names.
I remember growing up I was always that shy kid, I wasnt able to talk till I was 5 years old so maybe I had autism or adhd idk never went to the doctor to diagnose it and still have speech problems till today. I was raised under very strict parents, my mom more than my dad. My mom had a temper that could break mountains. I was scared shitless of her for well most of my life and I sometimes wonder if she instilled a fear of women in me. it didnt help that in kindergarden(I think thats what its called in english, I went there when I was 5) I was relentlessly bullied by the girls, mostly the popular ones as I was very wierd and gross Ill admit. Those experiences may have instilled a deep resentment of women in me.
from then on I could barely say anything to any women, like every time a women talked to me I had a clothes peg on my tongue and just wispered answers and did fuck all and walked away. I remember I read a book series when I was 10 (its a local series about a group of 4 boys who did crazy shit together and it was always a "boys club" to them) and I just said the whole time "oh girls are a waste of time and money". Although I played toughguy I had massive anxiety every single time I was in the vicinity of a women. In primary school we had double desks and you had a deskmate and that was very important back then as you mostly spoke to your deskmate. I could never speak to anyone and always had these short cutoff answers and was very rude to all the girls. kinda a bastard.
I remember the final year of primary school( we are 13) and I wanna kick myself. I had a black eye and when someone asked of it I ran away screaming. I had a problem with inflamation in my ankles as I grew too fast for puberty and I used these gross AF gelly gooyee gell heeles covered in week olds sweat to chase girls away. I didnt keep contact with anyone in primary school except 1 guy whos still my friend but I am rethinking those choices. Those girls I chased away was nice and friendly and treated me with respect, and I chased them away in the worst way. My eyes were always on those pretty popular girls who always bullied me, and I maybe stared at them wayyy too much and I was such a creed JOH, I cringe just thinking of it. I wondered about some of the other people I chased away. some girls were really nice, friendly and beautifiull people and I just ignored them and was an absolute bastard to them. To this day I barely know anyone from that group of 90 kids in my year and didnt keep contact. Kinda sad of me tbh.
the year after that we went to high school, we were grown ups. We had phones and we were almost 350 kids in my grade, but I didnt change. I was seated next to a girl in "homeroom" (idk what it is in english again) and first things first she asked for my number. My fucking immature ass thought she liked me and bam fel in love. She was just nice to me and couldve been a nice friend but I still kept that bastard tendencies from primary. I hopped around her the whole time but said nothing, absolutely creepy. She stayed after school and I remember still that EVERY DAMN DAY after cricket I rerouted the route from my locker to the school gate just to say goodbye, but that was just a andwave maybe and a mumble, I could not keep eye contact. My sorry ass thought we were inlove and she went on with her life, and I just went "oh shes a thot and bitch" "oh Im a nice guy" and so on but FUCK that was cringe, still barely said anything to her.
I think its ok to say I have a sister, and I was also so cringe to her friends. Like man I had a panick attack every time she had friends over and I was SO MUCH OF A BASTARD to them.
My sorry ass started believing, If a girl just makes eye contact, or she just greets you(even ask to lend a fucking eraser) she was in love with you. That girl I previously mentioned, well she went out with a guy the next year and I kinda made good friends with him, But he was kinda just a cunt. wayyyy too arrogant and also a player but I still simped over this 1 girl that was HIS GIRLFRIEND. Well I sent her the cringiest text 1 night on holiday and probably ruined my chances forver, but she left school halfway through the year and broke up with my friend. I was devastated but thinking back it was actually better for my mental health. I believed I stalked her insta for maybe a year and so, she got a bf who was 5 years older with kids (we were 15) so I maybe dodged a bullet idk, I broke all contact. So I had different crushes every week since then because well, I stated how easily I fell in love and basically COULDNT SAY A WORD to any female.
I basically went like this for 4 years and covid barely didnt help shit. covid hit when I was in gr10 and my country was in complete lockdown. My lonely ass went online and used my creepy incellish texts over snapchat and so. I added random people and when they just added me back, I thought "cool she likes me" and sent the creepiest wierdest most incellish texts immagineable. It was so bad. I deleted that account later. I also developed a porn addiction and continued this thing of harrasing random women online for aknogledging my existence and thought they were bitches for rejecting me. "I was such a nice guy, why couldnt they see it" I thought. It was bad for me, I may have used almost every social media at once for this goal and did it for almost a straight year maybe. I tryed to be cool with this social medias and said I was a cool guy, but was such a creep and asshole, and my addiction didnt help. I just stalked random girls from my school online if they gave me any attention in person, and they almost always had boyfriends, but I though "What do they know. they only like muscles and cool guys with money whos mean to them. Im a nice guy why wont they see it". I was an incel through and through, but I never spoke to girls and expected them to flock to me.
Thinking back this was my lowest point. I was locked in my room for hours watching p*** and couldnt speak to anyone. I got salty and depressed and blamed women for my misfortune in live and so on. In school I had only few friends and didnt talk to any girls, just stared at them like a creep.
Then came my final year of high school, and I believe this saved me as a person. The previous year my friendgroup was joined by a girl and guy, and they became my best friends. this girl became my second sister almost. at first I had a crush on her( AS ALWAYS) and I started wearing that thought down, shes a friend and a good friend at that. a person who will listen to you. I started bettering myself. I got rid of addictions and started bettering myself. I met a girl which I now view as my final incel challenge. she was the first girl to hug me every day and I developed a crush, but that ended by me pushing her away, realising she was using me as kinda a rebound and using my height to have a date to prom and being an all around bitch to me, that lasted months and through my simping to her I pushed all other girls away and was a bastard to them too and thats such a long story Im not gonna tell it here.
I made another female friend and she helped me too and from the second half of the final year I was a better person. I bettered my grades, I improved my attitude and tried going out. It worked and well I got rid of my p*** addiction and realised I didnt have these incellish tendencies. I started going to church and deleted ALL of my social media accounts and apps. From now on I'm me not an internet persona.
then it was the end of that version of me. I got into university for engineering at one of our best universities, and got into a university residence(thats also a long story but has a cultural signifigance in my country). I went on a church camp and made so much friends I forgot half their names. I sokkied and danced with girls for hours. My insecurities and so on is gone and I left my anxiety. I have bettered my relationship with my sister and even her friends, people who Ive shunned for years and Im angry for what nice people I have shunned. I have gone on dates and now, I have to go out if I sit in my room for too long.
I am not perfect though, theres still problems and sometimes come of as creepy and I know that. it is a problem but am working to fix it. Everyone should better themselves as a human being
About now, whenever I hear an incel or feminist or whatever political person speak I have 1 answer. GO OUTSIDE AND TALK TO PEOPLE. your entire perception is based on a minority of people. theres exist much more outside of your room. BE a better human.
TLDR: I was an incel, was a bastard and absolute cunt to women, met some amazing people and bettered myself. lifes beautifull and you should embrace it. GO TOUCH GRASS

2023.06.04 09:05 nitro152 New Build Won't Post. What Should I do?

Hello Buildapc
Looking for some advice on what to do.I recently bought parts for a new PC.
I put all the main components together and powered it on for the first time.I am not getting any display and post code on board shows 00 after flashing some other codes for a second.
I tried re-seating the CPU,.I verified that all the power cables are connected properly.I removed any extra parts and tried to boot with just essential components.I also tried to do a flashback to the latest firmware which completed, but still did not post.I tried with just 1 stick of RAM in different slots.
Googling wasn't too much help as different forums had different root causes, that covered essential all parts.I wasn't sure what to do at this point so I took it to micro center for a diagnostic because I'm not sure what part is bad.(If I had parts to test with, I would've swapped them out to see if I could get it to post to the BIOS.)Bought everything May 30th. Took it to micro center and paid a diag fee on June 1st and no update as of 6/3.
Was tempted to pay them to build the PC for ~$250, but that's crazy. Been building my own computer for years now. Sucks to have to pay someone else to do it, and for so much!
Feeling bad about this purchase now. Don't have long term confidence in the components.
TLDR: Bought parts for a computer at Micro Center. It's not posting. Took it to Micro Center for a Diagnostic (~$41). Still waiting to hear back. What to do?
Resolution: Heard back from Micro Center. When testing my parts, they found that the board and the memory were no good. They used an open box mobo for testing.
I exchanged the mobo and mem. They suggested just replacing the CPU as well, so I said why not.
After putting the exchanged parts in, comp booted fine first attempt.
Thank you everyone!

2023.06.04 07:42 pistermopo Tonneau cover

I have a 2014 1500 crew with ram boxes and I was wondering how a tonneau cover mounted. On my old rams that didn't have the ram boxes, it mounted with clamps right to the bed rails; with this truck, I have bolted-on rails that have moving tie-down eyes. Is that how it would mount, or am I just out of luck?

2023.06.04 07:20 idlechat 2023 Lord of the Rings Read-Along Week 23 - The King of the Golden Hall (Book III, Chapter VI)

"In the gloom they heard the hiss of Wormtongue's voice: 'Did I not counsel you, lord, to forbid his staff? That fool, HĂĄma, has betrayed us!' There was a flash as if lightning had cloven the roof. Then all was silent. Wormtongue sprawled on his face."
Welcome to Book III, Chapter VI ("The King of the Golden Hall") of The Two Towers, being chapter 28 of The Lord of the Rings as we continue our journey through the week of Jun 4-Jun 10 here in 2023.

Now that Gandalf had returned from the dead, he served as the captain of the Three Hunters; Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli.
He led them South through the Westemnet, past tributaries of the Entwash, through the SimbelmynĂ« covered Barrowfields and to the city of Edoras. This was the capital city of Rohan, built on a hill in Harrowdale, a valley of the White Mountains. There they told the guards that they had come back to return the horses that Éomer had lent them.
The four companions entered the city and were guided up to the top of the hill, where the great golden hall Meduseld stood, home to King ThĂ©oden. There HĂĄma, Doorward of ThĂ©oden, bid them to lay aside their weapons before being permitted to enter, Aragorn was reluctant to set aside AndĂșril but was compelled to do so or not enter. The others did so willingly, leaving their weapons outside the entrance to the hall, with only Gandalf retaining his staff, having deceived the Doorward Hama into it only being a stick to support him.
The companions entered and found it to be a mighty hall, with carved pillars, rune covered floors and rich tapestries lining the walls, in particular one of Eorl the Young riding Felaróf at the Battle of the Field of Celebrant. However, despite the warmth of the hall they did not get a warm welcome from Théoden, who was reluctant to show gratitude; he said this was because Gandalf always brought bad news and so he named him Låthspell. In truth, Saruman had a secret hold on Théoden in the form of the advisor, Gríma Wormtongue.
Gandalf managed to show ThĂ©oden that there was still hope and so freed him from his despair and the wicked influence of Wormtongue. Gandalf asked ThĂ©oden to release Éomer, who had been held prisoner at the counsel of Wormtongue. When Éomer returned he offered his sword to the King, pledging his service to him once more. HĂĄma was sent to find ThĂ©oden's own sword Herugrim, which turned out to be hidden in Wormtongue's locked chest.
Théoden realized his mistake in trusting Wormtongue and decided that he would lead the riders of Rohan against Saruman. Wormtongue was given a choice; ride with them to war to prove his loyalty to Théoden in battle, or to go where he wishes, though he will receive no mercy should he be found. He chose to spit at the feet of the king and flee the city.
ThĂ©oden then praised Gandalf and granted him Shadowfax as a gift, no longer to borrow. Gandalf then spoke to ThĂ©oden of the depth of Saruman's tracheary, and they made plans to ride to Isengard and make war against him. He proclaimed that Éowyn was to rule in his stead until he returned and then leading the host of Rohirrim alongside Gandalf they rode off into the West towards Isengard. [1]

2023.06.04 05:56 mechanicmaker Starting issues with ‘13 Dodge Dart 2.0 Project Car

Hi I bought a project 2013 Dodge Dart 2.0 for $500 to learn more about cars but I’m having a hard time getting it started. It turns over and sounds like it wants to start. Starter sounds good. I know the timing chain was replaced at some point but don’t much about the vehicle history beyond that. List of things I’ve tried so far:
Codes that are being pulled: - P0113 intake air temperature sensor 1 circuit high - P0520 engine oil pressure sensor switch circuit - P0017 crankshaft position camshaft position correlation bank 1 Sensor B - P0123 throttle/pedal position sensor switch A circuit high - P0222 throttle/pedal position sensor switch b circuit low - P2122 throttle/pedal position sensor switch D circuit low - P2127 throttle/pedal position sensor switch E circuit low
What could cause these codes at the same time? The cover for the engine is currently disconnected. The throttle body sensoconnector is also broken/wiggles and is held together by a zip tie (pic attached). Would I need to replace the entire throttle body for this? What are the next steps here? I NEED to put this together any help is greatly appreciated.

2023.06.04 03:44 BogeysNBrews 2020 Ram 1500 Lone Star (Big Horn) Budget Stock 6 Speaker Upgrade
