Alors voilà, je viens de voir passer un post concernant une personne décrivant sa situation et expliquant qu'à 21 ans elle avait déjà eu 24 relations avec d'autres personnes et franchement ça vient de me foutre un coup au moral assez monstrueux.

We just got back from an Alaskan cruise on the Norwegian Encore, and I wanted to share my coverage experience, in case anyone wants to know. FYI, I have a Pixel 7 Pro, and my wife has an iPhone 13 Pro Max. Our experiences were basically the same, so I'll just share mine. Also, I activated a Verizon free test eSIM, so I'll comment a little about that as well.
We cruised out of Seattle, and T-Mobile coverage is fine there. On the way to Alaska, native coverage lasted for several hours as we headed up to Canada. After that, I could see Telus, Bell, Rogers, and Freedom. My phone preferred Telus, but I could also connect to Bell. Rogers and Freedom both refused to connect. After a while, I lost service entirely, at which point the ship turned on Cellular at Sea. When automatic network selection was on, my phone connected to it, but, even though the network selection screen showed it as broadcasting LTE, it didn't connect with data, according to my phone's display. Needless to say, I wasn't about to test voice or data with them, and I quickly turned on airplane mode.
We only spent a short time in Juneau because my wife got sick, so I can't say much except that our phones preferred AT&T over GCI, but GCI was slightly better, by which I mean data actually worked well enough for me to get an Uber. AT&T was pretty much unusable. There was a Verizon signal, but it was about as bad as AT&T.
In Skagway, all I could see waa AT&T and Verizon, and both were almost unusable. I think I saw a brief GCI signal as we sailed out, but I didn't see it in town. We did an excursion up the fjords, but no service of any kind out there.
Obviously, no service at all in Glacier Bay.
Service in Ketchikan wws probably the best in any area of Alaska we visited, but I just mean it worked well enough to get things done, albeit slowly. I connected to AT&T but could also manually choose GCI. Verizon was also available for my test eSIM, and it worked about as well as the others.
Our stop in Victoria, BC was very brief. My phone preferred Telus, but I could also connect to Bell. Rogers and Freedom still refused to connect. Speeds on Telus and Bell were around 150 down, I think. I could also get a weak T-Mobile signal in Victoria. I think I also saw Verizon, but I don't remember for sure.
Basically, in Alaska, if you have a signal, it's going to be a bad AT&T signal or a bad GCI signal. And, even if the signal strength seems like it should be good enough to support data, it likely won't work well, if it works at all. And, even if you have Verizon, you won't fare any better.
And now a few observations about the ship's wi-fi. Neither of us got an Internet package, but we did connect to use the Norwegian app. While connected, my wife could receive iMessages, but she couldn't send. Also, if she received a Facetime call, her phone would ring, but she couldn't answer the call. For me, RCS showed as connected, and it said my messages were sending, but I'm not sure they were, and I never received any.
Finally, I noticed that Norwegian never once mentioned that Cellular at Sea was available. In fact, during their promo video about using their Internet service, they specifically told people to put their phones on airplane mode to avoid roaming charges. It makes me wonder if Norwegian has soured on their relationship with Cellular at Sea and only still has it on their ships because they still have a contract requiring them to do so.

Pour le contexte, je (23M) suis ami avec une fille (24F)
A l’époque du lycée, j’étais amoureux d’elle, genre vraiment beaucoup. Pour faire un résumé rapide, je pensais c’était le cas aussi pour elle vu qu’on était vraiment proche, mais non elle m’a friendzone parce qu’elle n’était pas prête pour une relation. Un mois plus tard, elle s’est rapproché de son crush d’une façon ou d’une autre et ils ont décides de se mettre ensemble. Vous vous doutez que je l’ai pas très bien pris. Suite à une engueulade, on s’est éloigné pendant plusieurs années.
Depuis 1 an ou 2, on a recommencé à se parler et même si je savais pas trop comment me situer par rapport à elle, je sais que je ne suis plus amoureux d’elle. Donc on est pote. D’autant plus qu’elle est toujours avec son copain du lycée.
Mais y’a une chose qui a pas changé et qui a même empirer, c’est mon attirance sexuelle pour elle. C’est pas une mannequin, elle est pas parfaite, mais je la trouve magnifique, encore plus avec les années. Depuis longtemps, j’ai été assez clair (sans pour autant forcer) sur le fait que si elle venait à moi, je ne saurais pas lui dire non et qu’au contraire, si elle se retrouvait celib, j’hésiterais pas à l’approcher dans ce sens.
Mais d’un autre côté, elle s’en fout, ce que je respecte, et moi aussi, même si elle est un peu spéciale à mes yeux vu qu’on très proche et tout, c’est vraiment purement physique. On partage déjà beaucoup de choses, si on rajoutait du sexe ça changerait pas grand chose pour moi. Je sais ce que je veux et ne veux pas.

En soit ça me pose pas vraiment de problème, je suis déçu parce que je la trouve vraiment magnifique mais c’est comme ça, qui ne tente rien n’a rien. Un mois plus tard, elle s’est rapproché de son crush d’une façon ou d’une autre et ils ont décides de se mettre ensemble. Vous vous doutez que je l’ai pas très bien pris. Suite à une engueulade, on s’est éloigné pendant plusieurs années.
Depuis 1 an ou 2, on a recommencé à se parler et même si je savais pas trop comment me situer par rapport à elle, je sais que je ne suis plus amoureux d’elle. Donc on est pote. D’autant plus qu’elle est toujours avec son copain du lycée.
Mais y’a une chose qui a pas changé et qui a même empirer, c’est mon attirance sexuelle pour elle. C’est pas une mannequin, elle est pas parfaite, mais je la trouve magnifique, encore plus avec les années. Depuis longtemps, j’ai été assez clair (sans pour autant forcer) sur le fait que si elle venait à moi, je ne saurais pas lui dire non et qu’au contraire, si elle se retrouvait celib, j’hésiterais pas à l’approcher dans ce sens.
Mais d’un autre côté, elle s’en fout, ce que je respecte, et moi aussi, même si elle est un peu spéciale à mes yeux vu qu’on très proche et tout, c’est vraiment purement physique. On partage déjà beaucoup de choses, si on rajoutait du sexe ça changerait pas grand chose pour moi. Je sais ce que je veux et ne veux pas.
Le problème, c’est que justement elle est libre depuis une semaine mtn, même si elle a encore des sentiments pour son mec.
L’autre problème, c’est qu’elle est aller à une soirée, s’est faite draguer par une meuf, qui a été très direct avec elle, elles ont fini par dormir ensemble à faire quasiment des bails (j’ai pas les détails mais disons que c’était chaud quand même).
Et du coup je me suis dit : « si elle est open à ce genre de chose avec d’autres gens, pourquoi je pourrais pas lui rappeler que si elle veut se sentir désirée, j’ai que de ça à revendre pour elle ? »
Et pas en amour, c’est vraiment juste pour qu’on s’amuse tout les 2.
De base, je voulais juste l’inviter passer du bon temps pour éviter qu’elle deprime donc je lui propose une sortie dans 2 semaines etc. Elle me dit que ça fait très « date » et je réponds que ça en un et que je me suis jamais caché du fait que je la voyais de cette façon depuis qu’on se reparle. Résultat, j’me suis fais friendzone a l’époque pour une relation, et mtn en tant que plan cul. En soit ça me pose pas vraiment de problème, je suis déçu parce que je la trouve vraiment magnifique mais c’est comme ça, qui ne tente rien n’a rien. Mais de l’autre, j’me dis que c’est vraiment un sale move de ma part de lui avoir parler de ça mtn, a peine 1 semaine après sa rupture. Pourtant l’autre meuf a fait pareil et ça a marché donc c’est juste que elle veut pas de moi tout court et je respecte ça.
Jsuis content d’avoir tenter une approche surtout que c’est pas trop mon genre, mais j’espère que ça va pas trop endommager notre amitié quand même, jsp trop.
