2023.05.14 23:04 ToeRepresentative627 Portal Under the Stars Play Report (Dungeon Crawl Classics, Module)
Background This is a solo play report of me running through the Portal Under the Stars module included in the DCC Core Rulebook. If you are unfamiliar with DCC, it’s similar to older editions of DnD, but with some additional mechanics that will come up often throughout this report. Here is a brief overview of some of them: Dice Chain- DCC uses more kinds of weird dice that DnD does not (d30, d24, d16, etc.). Instead of +1 -1 type bonuses, sometimes you go up or down the “dice chain” and roll a better or worse dice. So instead of rolling a d20, you’d roll a d24 if you went up the dice chain. Skills- There is no list of skills. Instead, all the characters have a “profession” (cobbler, barber, elven sage, dwarven chestmaker, urchin, etc.) When you want to do something, if you can justify why your character would be able to do it well, you get to roll a regular d20. If not, you are “unskilled” and you roll a d10. Luck- Along with the main ability scores found in DnD, DCC has a “luck score”. Luck checks are rolled whenever the DM needs to determine who a trap affects or who a monster targets. Players can “burn luck” to fudge rolls. At very low luck scores, the DM is encouraged to call for more luck checks to see if those characters run into additional unlucky situations. Luck does not recover, so you have to choose wisely when to do this.
Funnel- Character creation is determined by a “funnel”. You randomly generate a bunch of level-0 peasants. They do not have classes, they have very low hp, and have no special abilities. You run them through the funnel. Whoever survives is entitled to become level 1 and choose a class. This module is a level-0 funnel. At the end of it I should have a few peasants who I can promote to level 1.
This is also a solo play. This is a type of play that started to gain traction during the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s just you. You are the player, the characters, and the DM, all at once. This presents some unique game design challenges, but with a little creativity and random rolling, you can still find ways to surprise yourself.
Preface I rolled up 20 level-0 peasants. There was an even distribution of stats: 7 good, 8 average, 5 bad. The big star was a Costermonger with +1s in 5 stats. The biggest duds are a 3 luck Elf, and an Urchin and a Beggar pair with… let’s call them “flavorful” stats.
Commentary: I have run this dungeon solo before, so I already know what to expect. To keep it interesting, I created some additional character traits that would influence their behavior. I made “demeanors” that ranged from foolhardy to scared, but started in the middle between cautious, neutral, or brave. Based on how successful the party is, characters can change demeanor. This will determine how much risk taking they engage in. This will also mean that bigger failures will lead to more cautious behavior, and more success will lead to more brazen behavior. I kept motivations simple, they either are exploration or loot motivated. Lastly, I wanted to determine which characters would be most influential when making decisions, so I had a “leader” trait. At the start, the characters with the best stats were the default leaders. After each encounter, I would decide who contributed the most and who embarrassed or endangered the party the most, which would result in changes in leadership roles. Lastly, I rely heavily on marching order. Whoever is positioned in front is likely to have the most influence. At the start, we are a mostly brave, loot motivated party. We are ready charge into battle, kick down doors, and get all the gold.
Entrance The dungeon entrance is a locked door, covered in jewels. We use a hammer to pop them out. Then we use a hammer and a chisel to make handholds around the door to make it easier to force open. Two peasants work together to pull the door open, one pulling on the door, the other pulling on their friend. This triggers a magical trap. A blast of searing light shot out from the door from where the jewels had been arranged in a design that could have clued them into the door’s potential danger. The peasants went in greedy, and maybe should have paid more attention to that. Luckily, no one lost their life, but one of the peasants lost their ear.
Commentary: Since its DCC I like to use the dice chain and luck whenever I can. In general, when characters work together, this will bump them up the dice chain. Likewise, I forgot to specify who was pulling on the door and who was pulling on their friend, so, when the trap was sprung, I used luck rolls from both characters to determine who was in front. I also used Will saves to determine whether the springing of the trap resulted in anyone becoming cautious.
Guardian Hall The first room is the Guardian Hall. Inside are four warrior statues, each holding a spear aimed at the entrance. Some of the peasants learned their lesson from the last trap, some had not and were busy admiring the armor on the statues. A moment passes, then the statues mechanically launch their spears, killing a squire and a caravan guard, who really should have known better given his background. Those without decent weapons pick up the spears. The strongest members loot the scale mail armor off the statues.
Commentary: I used demeanor to determine who would see the statues as a threat and who wouldn’t. The caravan guard didn’t, and, because he was loot motivated, was mostly focused on how he might loot the armor off the statues, which ultimately got him killed.
Monument Hall The next room is the Monument Hall, a big square room with doors on each wall, and a towering barbarian statue in the middle who is pointing at the doorway with an outstretched finger. The statue is adorned with an amulet and jewels around its neckline, animal hide clothing, and a grimoire hanging off its side. A foolhardy dwarf and a weaver walk right in and get to looting, while more cautious members observe the room from the doorway. A woodcutter thought about joining them, but the Costermonger persuaded him to not go with them. A perceptive elf notices scorch marks on the floor near each of the doors in the room. The dwarf boosts up the weaver, who, given his background, is well suited for climbing stitched together animal hides. He makes it to the neckline and loots each of the jewels and the amulet, then climbs down. The weaver also cuts some of the hides off near the statue’s base.
After witnessing their success, the rest of the party moves into the room. This causes the party to spread out around the sides. As this happens, the statue starts to swivel, and point towards whichever side seems closest to a door. When the peasants huddle back towards the middle of the room, the statue swivels to point at the other side. Though it has not triggered yet, the party realizes that this is another trap! They devise a plan. They will use scissors to cut up a bolt of linen into thin strips, and tie them together to make a long rope. They will tie it to the leg of one of the farmer’s ducks. The costermonger will fling pieces of fruit at one of the doors to get the duck to move towards the door. If a trap triggers, they will yank the duck back to safety, and know exactly how the trap works. They will then be able to use the duck to test out the rest of the doors if needed. They put their plan into action. As the duck moves towards one of the doors, the statue swivels to point at it. Suddenly, FWOOSH, the statue shot a fireball out of its fingertip. The party quickly yanks back the duck. The statue continued firing at the door until its finger only emitted smoke.
Commentary: Using demeanors and motivations, some characters strolled right into the room. I used the leadership mechanic and a personality roll to redirect the woodcutter’s behavior. However, given the path that they were taking, this didn’t result in the trap activating or even moving to show it was a trap. It wasn’t until the larger cautious portion of the party entered, that this was revealed. I used a Will save to keep the cautious members from panicking and running towards the exits, which would have led to a much more chaotic encounter. I used reflex saves to save the duck in time. I also rolled for a random wandering monster encounter (1 in 6 chance) while they were experimenting because, though clever, this took a long time. It’s not wise to linger too long in a dungeon. Luckily, it failed.
Scrying Room The party progresses through the west door into a scrying room. They enter a medium sized room with a stone throne in the middle. There are clay tablets on the wall. A giant horned snake emerges from behind the throne and immediately attacks. The peasants swarm the snake from all sides, but things do not go as smoothly as hoped. The snake bites the costermonger within an inch of his life. A ditch digger gets his weapon stuck in his belt straps (critical fail). Multiple peasants, even when attacking from the higher ground offered by the stone throne, find it hard to connect with all the slithering the snake is doing. But a few courageous peasants burn some of their luck to ensure they do some damage. The fight is ended by a farmer who gets a critical hit of his own, and hits the snake with such force that it sends a shiver up his weapon and disarms him (critical hit). The snake dissolves, leaving only its horn. The farmer claims it as a trophy, not knowing yet its magical properties yet. The non-fighters of the group briefly inspect the clay tablets on the wall, and see that they depict an alien invasion.
Commentary: It’s not in the rules, but I believe swarming your enemy should count for something, so I gave +2 bonuses for flanking. I also allowed those with long weapons like spears to attack from the back ranks with a penalty. The farmer was the MVP of this fight for killing the snake, so he gained a leadership trait. The costermonger lost some influence due failing to hit and almost dying. Those who inspected the tablets will be more likely to suspect magical things in the dungeon.
Chieftain's Burial The party goes back to the main hall. The fires on the east door have dissipated. On the other side is a small room with alcoves. In each alcove are bones, with one containing a suit of rusted chainmail. While trying to loot the chainmail, a skull comes to life and bites a peasant’s ankle. He survives, and easily smashes the skull. He dons the armor.
Commentary: It wasn’t in the module, but I believe that getting bit by undead should offer more danger than simply causing damage. Roll Fort DC 10 to avoid something bad. On a fail, a) turn into a zombie b) get a disease or c) gain a leg bone that glows underneath the skin d) gain the ability to detect ghosts with a leg tremor. With some burned luck, the peasant avoids this.
Gazing Pool Back to the main hall again. The peasants proceed through the north door. Inside is a very big room with a long rectangular shallow pool, columns, and wandering crystal creatures. Some of the peasants charge one of the creatures. Their weapons clang off its body. The creature retaliates, and kills both of them with one punch. After, the creature slowly wanders away, paying the uninvolved peasants no mind. They observe that the creatures only attack those who threaten them first. The peasants spread about the room. First they check everyone to make sure there are no other hidden threats. Once that is verified, they inspect the pool, and see crystals twinkling at the bottom of the pool. They test the dark water first by lobbing rocks into it. Everything seems safe. Many of them get in the water and start extracting the crystals. As they do this, the water level of the pool decreases. After 50 crystals, the floor buckles. Everyone gets out. One of the peasants argues that they can keep looting the crystals as long as they use spears and stay on the perimeter. Another cautious peasant argues that there could be a creature below them that they could anger if the pool caves in. The costermonger finds a compromise that it would be better to move on, and loot the rest on their way back if they can, which works out for everyone.
Commentary: The module mentioned that the crystal creatures only attacked those that “threatened” them. I randomly determined if “threatened” meant just attacked or other perceived threats. I also randomly determined whether, once attacked, do the creatures stay threatened and continue to aggress against the entire party. I randomly determined to see if there were additional threats in the room that could be discovered, and whether there was a hidden threat in the pool. I did a wandering monster check because we were lingering. All my rolls resulted in no additional dangers. I used the leadership traits and personality rolls to determine how the party reacted to the floor buckling.
Strategy Room The party proceeds down a spiral staircase into a long room. It’s a little cramped with the amount of peasants in the room. There are tables with maps and army miniatures on them. A perceptive member notices that some of the miniatures are solid silver. A farmer tries to claim one by picking it up. His arm painfully stiffens before he manages to drop it to the floor. There is bad magic in the silver miniatures. The party debates whether to leave it or find a way to loot it. The magic could make it even more valuable as a magical weapon. There is a risk though. Does the magic trigger on just skin to skin contact, or will it trigger on indirect contact, such as through cloth? They test this again using the duck. The put a cloth sack over the duck, and touch the duck to the miniature. The duck is unharmed. This means the statues, can be safely picked up, provided they do so with a sack as if they were pieces of dog poop.
Commentary: The module didn’t say that the silver miniatures were trapped, but it felt appropriate. I used a Will save when the farmer touched one. The trap turns those who touch the pieces into a silver statue as well. I did a range of failure for this. Will save DC 13. Fail by 3 or more, turn to silver. Fail by 1 or 2, just the arm turns to silver. Success by less than 3, a finger turns to silver. More than that, full save. The farmer got a full save. I also rolled to see what method of “contact” mattered for the trap.
Clay Army The party walks through another door. Some of them walk into another big room. There is a pit filled with many clay soldiers armed with spears. On the far end is a clay warlord sitting on a throne, carrying a glowing orb, and eight other clay generals. The room is still. Suddenly, the clay soldiers jerk to life, and begin climbing out of the pit. This is an unwinnable fit, and the peasants try to cram back into the previous planning room. They are working against a packed crowd of peasants, so one of them doesn’t get it, and gets speared in the back. Once inside, a ditch digger puts his shovel through the door handle to lock it closed. The soldiers on the other side thrust their spears into the door to break it down, and manage to do a lot of damage very quickly. The party overturns a table in the room, and have their strongest hold it against the door. The soldiers are making good progress. They have broken down the door, and are now working through the table. Some of the spears manage to plunge through the table and some of the peasants behind it. This was a bad plan. A dwarf has an epiphany. The room with the soldiers is right underneath the room with the buckled pool. The new plan is to retreat, hold the soldiers back at the stairs, while the peasants pull out more crystals to cause the pool to collapse in. Each crystal takes 2 minutes to remove, so a lot has to go right. Our best fighters hold a defensive position at the stairs. Everyone else helps remove the crystals. A merchant peasant pockets the treasure. There is one casualty at the stairs. The floor finally caves in. Everyone manages to get out in time. There is now a giant hole between the current floor and the clay soldier room. Unfortunately, most of the clay soldiers have left their original position in the room below. A mercenary peasant gets an idea to try and take out the main warlord. Only two peasants have ranged weapons, both which are low damage causing slings. One of them gets a critical fail and their sling breaks. The other misses three times before landing a critical hit that takes the head off the warlord statue. All the clay soldiers stop moving.
Commentary: I have not found rules for object hp yet, so I came up with an arbitrary hp for the door and the table that the soldiers had to break through. The peasants holding the table against the door, did a group strength check which involved going up the dice chain to add hp to the table.
After retreating, I had to come up with a very elaborate ruling. The module says each crystal takes 2 minutes to remove, and the pool collapses after 100 crystals are removed. Each round of combat is 10 seconds. That’s 12 rounds just to remove 1 crystal. I had about 6 peasants working together on this. That’s 6 crystals removed every 12 rounds. I needed to remove 50 more crystals to collapse the floor. That 100 rounds of combat. I figured that the 2 minute figure was with the idea that the method of removal preserved their value, so I said that characters were moving twice as fast and the crystals would lose half their value. That gets it down to 50 rounds of combat. I absolutely did not want to play this out in initiative order 1 round at a time.
Instead, I played this out like a group skill challenge. Since it’s a large group working together, I bumped up the dice chain twice to a d30. This was a heroic task I was trying to pull off, so I set the DC at 30. I also allowed for a range of failure, so as long as I rolled within 5 numbers of 30, I would get some form of success, but at a steep cost.
Lastly, I allowed everyone to burn luck to pull this off. The rules say I can donate luck either before or after the roll. I feel like you should get more bang for your buck for burning before the roll, and the burn rate in this case should be more expensive after. Depending on what the peasants were doing, their luck counted differently since some are helping more than others. Every 4 luck burned by the people not in the water, fighting, nor removing crystals +1, every 3 luck burned by the people out of the water but working on the crystals +1, every 2 luck burned by the people in the water being hands on is +1, every 2 by the fighters is a +1. A lot of luck was burned for this. We end up with a +17. I roll, but it’s still not enough. The burn rate gets more expensive. One of them burns all the way to 0 (which results in immediate death) to get us to a success. This sequence left most of the party hovering around 4-6 luck. It was a huge sacrifice, and felt legendary.
Looting the Room The party moves carefully down the stairs, smashing each soldier as they go just in case they reanimate. Only a few members enter the soldier room to fully explore it. The rest remain at the stairs, ready to flee with the treasure if anything more goes wrong. One elf was unlucky, and a loose stone from the broken ceiling fell and crushed him. A smuggler manages to reach the formerly glowing orb, and loot it. There was a secret room behind the throne, but it was not discovered. They decide it is finally time to leave.
Commentary: I knew the secret room was there, but at this point, the characters were very unmotivated to continue on unless there was a clear and obvious way forward. They had lost a lot of their members in this encounter, and were eager to leave. The elf getting crushed, which I determined by way of a luck check, sealed the deal on their course of action.
The Beetle But the dungeon had one more thing in store for them. A giant flying cave beetle had burrowed a hole into the Guardian Hall. Though the treasure holders were positioned in the back for their safety, the beetle flew over the party and killed the merchant with its mandibles. If the party wanted their hard earned treasure, they would have to stay and fight. They took turns thrusting their spears upward until someone finally downed the bug, but not before the beetle took another life. The few peasants that remained picked up the treasure, and fled.
Commentary: I like the idea of there being one final danger when escaping a dungeon. It’s one thing to pick up all this treasure; it’s another to actually get it out. We had also spent an incredible amount of time and burned luck on surviving the last encounter, and even more time smashing all of the statues after. It was time for another wandering monster roll. I chose a giant beetle from the rulebook, which also had a table determining its additional unique ability. In this case it was flying, allowing it to attack our back ranks which I thought would be safest. This was great. I almost thought this would spoil our changes of walking away from this with any treasure.
Prologue Out of 20 characters, there were only 5 survivors: smuggler, guild begger, dwarven apothecarist, ditch digger, and parsnip farmer. The ditch digger was one of those with good starting stats, but now with only 4 luck, he’s a little worse than average. Parsnip farmer and dwarf both were average, but also burned a considerable amount of luck. The guild beggar was one of my duds, but he walked away with average luck, so that’s something. Smuggler was average, and ended up with average luck. This makes him actually my best surviving character. Surviving the first adventure entitles the level-0 peasants to become level 1 and pick a class.
Parsnip Farmer -> Cleric. Ditch Digger -> Warrior Dwarven Apothecarist -> Dwarf Guild Beggar -> Wizard Smuggler -> Thief Cleric and Wizard each gain 4 randomly determined spells. Cleric learns: blessing, resist cold/heat, detect magic, and word of command. Wizard learns: chill touch, spider climb, runish alphabet, and cantrip.
We walked away with the following treasure: 4g 14s 100c 6 jewels (20s each) 6 hides (6s each) 1 amulet (6g) 15 jewels (10s each) 50 crystals (10s each) 4 magic silver statues (at least 20g each) Magical snake horn (???) Magical orb (200g) 3 suits of scalemail 1 suit of hide armor
Obituaries and Final Words (in order of death): Squire- speared by statue trap. “Move out the way. Let me see. Ulk!” Caravan Guard- speared by statue trap. “What an exquisite set of armor. I must have- ulk!” Dwarven Stonemason- punched by crystal creature. “Why. Won’t. You. Die? Oof!” Woodcutter- punched by crystal creature. “I’ll avenge y- oof!” Weaver- speared. “Let me in! Don’t leave me to d- ulk!” Dwarven chestmaker- speared “Crap. I guess this is my end.” Urchin- speared. “I lived a good life. Well… not really. Whatever.” Cobbler- speared. “Save my dope shoes!” Costermonger- speared. “Keep it up fellas. We might just make it out of this ali- ulk!” Elf Chandler- speared. “AHHHHHH! AHHHHH!” Mercenary- slipped on stairs. “Woopsie.” Wheat farmer- falls. “Watch your st- oof! Ow! Ah! Yow!” Elf Barrister- crushed by falling stone. “Guys, let’s just get out of here.” Merchant- flying giant beetle bite. “It’s got my head! Ahhhh! It’s got my head!” Barber- flying giant beetle bite. “Now it’s got MY head!”
Commentary: Wow. Even when I was pretty familiar with the module, I was very surprised by the outcome. The demeanors, motivations, and leadership rolls made the characters approach encounters in ways that personally, as a player, I would not have. But after it started a chain of events, I could be creative in figuring out ways for them to still succeed, which still felt like I was playing the game. I liked spicing up encounters with new dangers to keep things interesting. I was worried that my wandering monster checks wouldn’t yield anything, but it finally triggered something in the final moments.

2019 Chieftain Limited.
I do all of my own maintenance, and never have taken a vehicle into get an oil change. I called my local Indian dealer (Strictly Powersports in Pueblo, Colorado) just to see how much it would cost to do a simple drain and fill oil change. The service person said $435, for semi synthetic and a “multi point inspection.”
I clarified that all I needed was an oil change, and he confirmed that was the price. I asked him if they are using gold infused oil or something, and said I appreciated his time but I’ll do it myself for that price.
Is that what y’all are paying?
I get I would be paying for labor too, but it’s too easy to do it myself, as I’ve done it several times already, just curious if it was cost effective to have them do it.

2022.09.16 14:18 rfjeekelder AI enters art?
Last weeks there was a tumoil: "AI painting wins at Colorado State Fair":
https://eu.chieftain.com/story/news/2022/08/31/ai-painting-wins-at-colorado-state-fair-pueblo-artist-explains-jason-allen/65466872007/ That a forklift never entered an Olympic weightlifting competition was never a question… When Deep Blue won from Kasparov, the world was in shock: how could a computer win on intelligent capacities, which only belonged to humans? However, the ‘only’ thing the computer did were massive calculations. Modern chess computers work different, but still: they act and compute based on rules a human has entered. Let alone that it never has proposed to change the rules of games, based on expertise (instead of bad programming). Say: the queen may still move in all directions, but only 1 field.
AI: artist or tool?
So now ‘AI’ has won an art contest, and again: it’s big news. Another unique capability of mankind has been overcome?
As you say, Jason Allen has used his top three renderings out of over 900 options. Why not consider AI just as a tool, just like a pencil or a paintbrush? The artist decides when and how to use it. Even it’s experiment on experiment, a human is in those cases still the creator.
‘Learning’ algorithms will get better and better to generate something, based on 1 question: “do You think this is beautiful?” or “Tell me how to proceed”. So, who’s the creator here? The developer of the AI, who enabled the AI to create something? The AI itself, but then: what did the AI actually
create? We can ask questions if AI will ever be able to color outside the lines, probably not. Or did the receiver become the creator as well, who creates an art object like he does when he is using a camera?
Purpose: ‘art’ or ‘craft’?
I believe the pain is in the ‘art’ thing. Nobody questions you when you get emotional about nature, the weather or even a beautiful ‘craft’ object, say a piece of design furniture. All without a specific purpose. The (design) furniture is maybe made with a purpose, to admire the composition, the construction, etc. But it doesn’t explicitly raise questions as the state of mankind. When it comes to ‘art’, we expect that it asks questions or gives answers. Or, in abstract painting, the composition
is the art.
Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder?
With art, we expect that it evokes emotion. And explicitly or implicitly, that there is the artist, who has something to ‘tell’, the watcher who receives his message and a sense of connectivity between the artist and the watcher, through the medium of the artwork. And now, your communication partner is an AI?
Do you feel betrayed, because your ‘genuine’ emotions are evoked by a ‘thing’? Maybe we should learn that just like nature (a sunny day, leaves falling in autumn, …), the AI object is just a stimulus, a trigger. We have to become aware that in the end there is an object, whether created by AI or a human which triggers our emotions and thoughts. And the role of the object ends with that. But the process of getting emotions and thoughts is within us and these stay genuine.
What are your reflections?

2022.05.28 05:26 HazyRay Fire Risk in Pueblo County
RED LINE IN THE SAND Experts talk risks, responsibilities as dangerous fire season heats up (Pueblo Star-Journal piece)
Posted here before about the fire risk in Pueblo, even in the middle of the city. Nice to see others talking about it, too. Can't believe this in-depth article, which I very much appreciate the author having taken the time to write, only mentions climate change's contribution to fire risk increases in passing. A strange oversight, but still useful info, and helpful to have public figures discussing things like this:
“If you don’t think Waldo Canyon could happen in Pueblo, Colorado, you’re wrong,” Percival said during the meeting. “It’s not just the folks along the river or on the edges of our community” who are at risk.
Heads-up - this weekend there is high risk for any fire starts to spread rapidly -
See here for Nat'l Weather Service hazard bulletin.
Fire restrictions were lifted in
Pueblo County on Weds afternoon but Red Flag warnings and Fire Weather Watch days like we have this weekend still preclude burning. We did see drought category improvement but all that water last weekend has not gone very far to limit ongoing fire risk. Please be careful everyone!

Key points: The IPC is conducting three days of public hearings as it considers South32's mine expansion plans The company wants to extract 78 million tonnes of coal from beneath Sydney's drinking water catchment until 2048 Climate change scientist Tim Flannery addressed the commission to raise concerns about the mine's environmental impact South32 is seeking approval to expand its Dendrobium mine, west of Wollongong, until 2048. It plans to use a longwall mining technique to extract 78 million tonnes of metallurgical coal for steelmaking from two new areas under Sydney's drinking water catchment. "I want to speak against the development and my concerns are really around the climate impacts of extending our coal mining in Australia," Professor Flannery told a public hearing of the Independent Planning Commission on Thursday. He pointed to a paper published in April in leading science journal Nature which he said laid out evidence that Australia was approaching some "very serious deteriorations" in key global climate systems, including destruction of the Great Barrier Reef and the drying of the Amazon rainforest. "The key thing I'm concerned about is that we're reaching some key climatic tipping points which represent an extreme risk for us," Professor Flannery said. "If we're to have a chance, at least, of avoiding those tipping points, we need to stabilise the Earth's temperatures at about one and half degrees above the pre-industrial average." A sign and the road outside the Dendrobium mine South32 wants to extend the life of its Dendrobium mine until 2048.(ABC Illawarra: Kelly Fuller) Cutting fossil fuels Professor Flannery's presentation to the IPC coincided with the release of the United Nations' annual Production Gap Report, which calls for substantial cuts in global carbon emissions to avoid dire consequences for the environment. "So rather than extending our coal mining and our fossil fuel use, the report argues we need to be cutting [their use] six per cent per year, every year, to keep ourselves safe from these dangerous tipping points." This Zenú boy is from El Alto San Jorge, Córdoba province. © Irrael Aguilar Amid the arid farmlands of Colombia’s Córdoba province, the grassed earth gives way to bare incisions. Upturned mounds of ochre puncture the landscape. Fuming chimneys spill white smoke. This is Cerro Matoso, one of the largest ferronickel mines and processing facilities in the world. Owned and part-owned for over 30 years by BHP Billiton, an Anglo-Australian corporation and the largest mining firm in the world, it was recently transferred to South32, a spin-off company.1 Matoso has proven a lucrative source of wealth, delivering billions of dollars in sales. But former workers and local communities say that wealth has come at their expense; they are demanding justice for the destructive impact on their health, livelihoods, environment and safety. Small-scale mining first started at Cerro Matoso in the 1960s, expanding in 1979 when the Colombian government granted a concession to Conicol, Ifi-Econiquel and Billington Overseas (the precursor of BHP Billiton, from the Royal Dutch Shell group). Funded by the World Bank, the mine boomed, becoming the region’s flagship industry.2 Montelíbano, a nearby town devoted to agriculture and livestock breeding, saw its population triple.3 Advert Newint - Article 1, 2 & frontpage - CSO21 3 In 1997, BHP Billiton gained full ownership of the mine, doubling its production between 2001 and 2010. Today, Cerro Matoso’s high-quality ferronickel is shipped from Cartagena across the world, where it finds its way into countless industrial products, such as surgical instruments or mobile phones. Extracting the material is an intricate process. Raw ferronickel is found in opencast spaces. It is mined using bulldozers and then transported to processing facilities. There, it is crushed and dried, and readied for the smelter. In high-temperature ovens, the nickel is melted, separated into segments, and cooled. With four enormous furnaces in use, Cerro Matoso is the most energy-intensive industrial project in Colombia. But these ovens emit large amounts of toxic particles, which the wind carries to water sources and fields. CANCER, DEFECTS AND MISCARRIAGES The impacts of contaminated air and waterways on local communities is evident through genetic deformations, illnesses and an epidemic of miscarriages.4 Children have been born without reproductive organs or anuses. Cows and chickens have birthed offspring with two heads and excess limbs. DANE, the Colombian government bureau of statistics, reported an alarming rise in rates of cancer and respiratory illness in the region.5 Dermatological defects, such as blemishes, rashes or burst skin are common. Water studies have detected extremely high levels of iron in the principal local river.6 Dayro Romero is the governor of the indigenous community of Pueblo Flecha, a village located a few hundred metres away from Cerro Matoso. ‘At first we didn’t see any changes,’ he says. ‘But 20 years on we began to see the impacts. [Today] there are high rates of bronchitis, pneumonia… Our children have skin defects, eye problems, constant headaches. Our girls are embarrassed to wear short clothes that show the blemishes on their skin. We are known for our fertility, but in our community we now have so many miscarriages. In 2011, 14 out of 36 pregnancies in our village were aborted... We feel environmentally massacred.’ Advert Newint - Article 1, 2 & frontpage - CSO21 1 Children have been born without reproductive organs or anuses. Cows and chickens have birthed offspring with two heads and excess limbs Irrael Aguilar, chieftain of the Zenú communities in the region, concurs: ‘We are slowly being killed by this mine. This is the end of us. We are on our way to extermination.’ Dozens of former mine workers have also experienced high rates of cancer, deafness and illness, with some initiating legal proceedings against the company.7,8,9 Nickel isn’t the only source of pollution. Nearby coalmines and coal-fired power plants, relied on by Cerro Matoso to meet its enormous energy needs, cast coal dust into the air. In 2013, indigenous and Afro-descendant communities from areas surrounding Cerro Matoso blockaded the mine’s entrance in protest over the health and environmental impacts, halting operations. At first they were ignored. Then, riot police were sent in. The pressure continued, eventually leading to an agreement between communities, the company and the government. One of the central compromises was that Cerro Matoso would finance an independent environmental and health study. Despite delays, the study has begun and is expected to reveal its results later in the year.10,11 The company is adamant that there are no negative impacts from its operations.12 Luis Marulanda del Valle, Cerro Matoso’s Vice-President for External Affairs, maintains that ‘the health of these communities is affected by factors independent of our operations.’13 A BHP Billiton spokesperson pointed to ‘detailed environmental and health studies carried out by Cerro Matoso up to 2014’, which indicated a minimal or absent impact on air quality, water quality and public health. But in 2014, one of the public bodies responsible for monitoring Cerro Matoso’s impacts admitted lacking the necessary equipment to determine whether the company’s own environmental reporting matched reality.14 CALLOUS CONTRASTS In its communications, Cerro Matoso pays ample reference to its contribution to economic and social development. It claims to have significantly improved the quality of life in the region through royalties and social programmes.15 Cerro Matoso is a massive enterprise linking mines with power plants and processing facilities. This truck, loaded with coal, heads from the Córdoba mines to the Geselca power plant.Daniel Macmillen Voskoboynik But local voices are more sceptical. Moreno argues that ‘they [the company] haven’t come through on their promise on water access, or the fixing of streets. They’ve built houses, but not using our traditional methods. In any case, what do we do with a house when we’re blighting our blood?’ Aguilar agrees: ‘We do not see the companies bringing real development. Rather, they have been preparing death for people here. They are destroying the forests, the water sources. We are merely looking for a dignified life for our coming generations, something which goes against the company’s vision.’ Montelíbano is a city of callous contrasts. Mine managers and workers benefit from a company country club, a private school and a private water supply. A gated Cerro Matoso neighbourhood sits inside the city centre. A closed condominium reserved for managers lies outside the city limits. Yet thousands of families in Montelíbano live in conditions of extreme poverty. Many lack access to water, sewerage or adequate housing. Rates of illiteracy are high.16 Eighty per cent of the inhabitants of the neighbouring municipality of San José de Uré have unmet basic needs.17 In 2012, a delegate from the General Comptroller noted that municipalities affected by Cerro Matoso were worse off than those without mining projects.18 In rural districts and communities adjacent to the mine, pollution has wrecked traditional livelihoods and methods of subsistence. ‘Before,’ Moreno says, ‘you could throw a net into the river and retrieve 20 fish. Now, it takes you a day to catch three.’ Cerro Matoso is not just a mine: it is an enormous development enterprise, linking coalmines with power plants and processing facilities. For its advocates, it has proven to be a dynamic engine of growth. For critics, it is a textbook example of maldevelopment, a network of extractive ventures which has harmed lives and impeded more salutary forms of development in the region. The mine, which has seemingly polluted the land and lives of Zenú communities, was initially powered by a hydroelectric mega-dam which forcibly displaced indigenous Emberá communities. Today, an enlarged Cerro Matoso is looking to meet its growing energy needs through the expansion of Geselca, a coal-fired power plant supplied by new local coalmines. All these polluting processes are in turn being ‘environmentally offset’ by the industrial plantation of swathes of palm and non-native teca trees, which consume more water than native species. Aguilar calls this ‘double damage’. He says: ‘They damage the environment, and then try to fix that damage with further damage.’ PARAMILITARY LINKS? There are also concerns around how Cerro Matoso has woven itself into Colombia’s vivid landscape of violence. Historically, the province of Córdoba has been one of the areas most embroiled in the country’s armed conflict, with a patent presence of paramilitary and guerrilla forces. Local residents have expressed fears about the relationship between the company and armed actors. One local shopkeeper, asking to remain nameless, reflects: ‘In this city, every business has to pay vacunas [extortion payments] to the paramilitaries, from wealthy retailers to the guys who sell passion-fruit juice on the street. They [Cerro Matoso] have been here for decades, and haven’t had a single reprisal, a single threat, a single kidnapping. How have they done that? Are we supposed to believe that they’ve never paid or engaged with the paramilitaries? We simply cannot explain to ourselves how such a company can move so freely in this territory.’ Others point to precedents. A Japanese company supplying carbon filters left the region, allegedly due to constant extortion.19 Non-governmental organizations have been unable to operate freely in surrounding villages. Irrael Aguilar (left) is one of the indigenous Zenú leaders who lives under severe threats for his involvement in environmental struggles. He is accompanied by fellow leader Juan Urango.Daniel Macmillen Voskoboynik There is not just suspicion around the mine’s engagement with paramilitaries to ensure unobstructed operations; allegations persist of the mine’s complicity in violence against social leaders. Colombia is one of the most dangerous countries in the world for defenders of human and environmental rights. An explosive mix of armed groups, extensive land conflicts, lucrative extractive projects, and state paralysis create conditions for the killing of dozens of activists every year.20 In Córdoba, the indigenous Zenú community of El Alto San Jorge is home to a population of nearly 16,900 people, spread across dozens of villages. Over the past eight years, the community has seen 49 of its leaders killed. Another 14 leaders currently have protection measures and 19 more are undergoing risk assessments. Only two have obtained full protection measures. Irrael Aguilar, the community’s chieftain, is under severe threat for his involvement in various rights struggles. He travels with an entourage of bodyguards and rarely spends consecutive nights in the same location. Aguilar says that ‘the company certainly has its hands in some of the threats.’ South32 and BHP Billiton deny the claims, with spokespersons from both companies affirming compliance with high standards of human rights due diligence. But those under threat are often stuck in a bind. If they present concrete evidence of the threats against them to the authorities, the risk of reprisal increases. One community leader, who asked to remain anonymous, alleged that he had evidence from paramilitary leaders who had been approached by Cerro Matoso to ‘eliminate him’. But divulging that evidence would put him at further risk. Until the security situation in the region changes, and thorough investigations can take place, there will be little clarity around the true nature of extortion and threats. Questions also arise around the company’s fiscal relationship to the Colombian state. Plantations of thirsty non-native teca trees do further damage to the environment.Daniel Macmillen Voskoboynik Cerro Matoso has been accused of avoiding tax, underpaying royalties, and under-invoicing.21 In 2010, the company was forced to pay over $12 million in unpaid royalties, after an audit from the General Comptroller. Further analysis of Cerro Matoso’s finances suggests manipulation or creative accounting to reduce its taxable income.22 Mario Valencia, spokesperson for the Network for Tributary Justice in Colombia, noted: ‘[an] analysis of Cerro Matoso’s figures leaves us concerned, because there is strong evidence that they are presenting accounts which show a situation that is more critical than in reality.’23 Cerro Matoso has also faced significant scrutiny for its lease over the mine, and the contracts it has negotiated with the government.24 Another Comptroller report in 2012 showed that the mine’s environmental licence was granted based on incomplete, inadequate and outdated data.25 WHAT NEXT? The future of Cerro Matoso is clouded in uncertainty. Despite plans to expand operations, a collapse in nickel prices has provoked a crisis.26 Many workers have been laid off, and there are doubts whether the mine’s concession will be extended beyond 2029. But if Cerro Matoso closes operations, will there be justice for communities torn apart by its impacts? In 2011, BHP Billiton registered the largest-ever profit by a British firm.27 It has been a generous sponsor of sports teams, cultural events, and Olympic medals, and has poured millions into lobbying.28 But its wealth has come at a cost – from flattened villages in Brazil to polluted lives in Colombia.29, 30 ‘The word Zenú means wonderful land, a place of found waters,’ Aguilar laments. ‘The legacy of our ancestors is a world-vision of equilibrium, of harmony with the natural world. The Western man [sic] doesn’t understand this, let alone the businessman [sic]. They understand extraction, not conservation.’ Over the past eight years, the community has seen 49 of its leaders killed The tension Aguilar references extends beyond Cerro Matoso; it lies at the heart of hundreds of disputes across the country. Two-fifths of Colombia’s land has been concessioned to or requested by mining or fossil-fuel companies. The government has declared the country open for business, assuring all that the country must develop its way to an enduring peace. The thrust of that development is the so-called ‘mining-energy locomotive’.31 But will an authentic peace be obtainable with a development policy that enflames social conflicts and degrades territories? Social movements have been mobilizing to demand instead a peace imbued with social and environmental justice.32 Danilo Urrea, from the environmental justice organization CENSAT Agua Viva, criticizes the government for proposing a ‘corporate peace’, ‘based on a development model which turns its back to environmental equilibrium, and closes its eyes to popular participation.’ ‘Nature has been the setting of war, it holds the spoils of war and, therefore, it has been the victim of war,’ he says. ‘Nature is also the only fertile ground for peace. Unless we reconfigure our relationships and economic models, unless we reconcile ourselves with nature and each other, then a lasting peace is unattainable.’ Tim Flannery warns of adverse climate impacts if South32 coal mine expansion approved ABC Illawarra / By Ainslie Drewitt Smith Posted WedWednesday 2 DecDecember 2020 at 8:31pm A man sits in front of solar panels Former climate change commissioner Tim Flannery spoke at a hearing of the IPC.(AAP) Share Prominent Australian scientist and climate change writer Tim Flannery has spoken against a planned coal mine expansion in New South Wales, warning of dire environmental consequences if it is to proceed. 2022.01.07 05:34 Far_Valuable5819 Ruth Price 911 Call Mystery Solved?
Today I was listening to my favorite true crime podcast,
Going West. If you have never listened to
Going West run and do it now! Well after you finish reading this post. You can't find a better podcast duo than the
Going West hosts, Daphane Woolsoncroft and Heath Merryman. The episode was a special one to celebrate their 3 year podcast anniversary, The Ruth Price 911 Call // Episode 162.
I have to be honest, before today I had never heard the story of Ruth Price and the 911 call she placed. At the beginning of the call, Ruth begins to give her address as
3877 but is cut off by the 911 operator. During this 911 call, Ruth presents herself as an elderly woman who is concerned about a man who knocks on her door saying he is looking for an apartment. Ruth pauses after giving this information, then you hear a blood curdling scream and Ruth says something about not being able to breath.
If you have never heard this 911 call, listen
here.
Please note that there is one of the most disturbing screams that you will ever hear in this call. As I googled this 911 call multiple Reddit posts and even an
article show up speculating if this 911 call was real or a some kind of hoax. (Apparently this 911 call has been circulating the internet for a few decades. And first appeared in the late 80's early 90's.) One theory was that it was created as a training call for 911 operators. Over the years, people have tracked down possible Ruth Prices but have been unable to link them to this 911 call.
I however believe I found the missing evidence to link it to a Ruth Price mentioned by Daphane and Heath in their
Going West episode.
I'm do genealogy as a hobby and love to dig and do research. (By the way, if anyone reading this is involved in genetic genealogy and want to offer me a job I'm in! A woman can dream.) To avoid taking down my Christmas tree I started an ancestry tree on the 3rd option that Daphane and Heath had mentioned, a Ruth Mildred Starr Price.
Ruth Mildred Starr was born in Pueblo, Colorado on December 7, 1913 to Thomas O Starr and Johanna Egler. Ruth went to Central High School in Pueblo Colorado, see
here for a yearbook photo. Ruth Starr married William Walter Price and both were still listed as living in Pueblo, Colorado in 1935, but then can be found in a 1940 Census living in San Diego, California.
I also found this Ruth in a 1973, 1975, 1976,
1978 &
1979 San Diego City Directory living at
3877 N 35th Street in San Diego. (Remember that Ruth in the 911 call said she lived at 3877 before the 911 operator cut her off.)
It appears that Ruth and William had two daughters and William passed away in 1972.
During my research, I found a listing for an obituary (see obituary
here) for Ruth M Price in May of 1994 in the San Diego Union-Tribune. The entire obituary wasn't being shown so I went looking for the full obituary. Instead I found a Ruth M Price listed in a newspaper section called
Assaults on November 3,1980 in the San Diego Evening Tribune. In this newspaper clipping it says Ruth M. Price was assaulted on the
3800 block of 35th Street! This newspaper clipping fits the Ruth Price 911 call perfectly!! You can find a screenshot of this newspaper clipping
here.
I truly believe that this is the missing piece that identifies THEE Ruth Price of that unknown 911 call. It wasn't a hoax or a 911 training call, that blood curdling scream was unfortunately very real! The good news is Ruth even being older in age, fought off her attacker and lived for another 14 years.
One more note is that in reading another reddit
post, most likely this 911 call isn't really a 911 call. Apparently, there was no 911 in San Diego in 1980 so most likely Ruth Price was talking to an operator of some kind. Maybe she dialed "0" or had reached the police station.
Thoughts? Did I find the missing link to bring an end to this unresolved mystery?
Transcription of the San Diego Evening Tribune Article - November 3, 1980 Officers said Ruth M. Price of the 3800 block of 35th Street was calling police to advise them of a prowler in the area when she was grabbed from behind and choked. She was able to break the attacker's grip after dropping the telephone, screaming and pulling at the attacker's hands. The youth fled. Price said she did now know why she was assaulted and had never seen the suspect before. submitted by

2021.12.12 00:00 sinister141 Bulls Hockey Coverage
Has anyone noticed the disappointing lack of coverage of the Pueblo Bulls hockey team by local news here? They've been in town for about 2 years now and i haven't found a single chieftain article about them. They seem to be doing somewhat well in their season right now but they don't even get a mention in the score recaps in the sports section. Now i don't expect them to be front page news, but as a hometown pro sports team it's disappointing that they're not getting coverage. Especially since there was a huge deal made about that baseball team that wanted to move here af couple years back
Correction: it appears junior hockey is an amateur sport.

- Low-Observability: A craft's ability to conceal itself from any kind of radar. Or become difficult to observe due to some kind of cloaking.
- Trans-medium Travel: A craft's ability to move seamlessly through space, air and water.
There are a few tantalizing alleged UAP/UFO videos out there. Here I have compiled some of the ones, which I keep for reference. Here, I am presenting them for your consideration. To me, these videos seem to be evidence of UAP activity and their capabilities. It is important to note that UAP is a global phenomenon and the variety of locations around the world is representative of this fact. The videos are mostly arranged in chronological order and I've added some relevant background information. https://preview.redd.it/gg5psvaagx881.jpg?width=1088&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1ae66438a5d208740255014e99441435f834910a 1 Possible Observables: Anti-gravity. These are (2) videos. The first one was recorded on August 15th, 1950. According to the witness, the video shows two spinning disks flying over Great Falls, Montana. Filmed on a hand-held camera by Nicolas Mariana, who at the time was the general manager of Great Falls “Selectrics” Baseball Team. The second video was recorded in Tremonton, Utah on July 2nd, 1952 and known during Project Blue Book as the "Tremonton Film". The video was taken by Warrant Officer Delbert Newhouse, then the Navy's Chief Photographer with 21 years in the service and over 2,000 flight hours engaged in aerial photography. He was driving cross country with his wife after reassignment from Washington DC to Oregon, when they witnessed the alleged UFO fleet moving in the sky. Delbert claims that the objects were "saucer shaped," and that each object was identical to the other, and that they were about the size of a Boeing B-29. Both these videos were part of Project Blue Book's " Unknowns." https://preview.redd.it/bcexs1dwqw881.jpg?width=1600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9ae78f239946415154d25501b0bdc61b49ceed6e 2 Possible Observables: Anti-gravity plus Instantaneous Acceleration. This video was filmed over the UK in January 1976 during an escort British Airways flight to film the Concorde using a Periscope Camera. Although, the analyst in the video says that this appears to be a possible reflection from the sun. I believe that he is mistaken, since the maneuvers of this object in the air, correlate with what we can observe in the other UFO videos on this post. https://preview.redd.it/4z39my6prw881.jpg?width=400&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c1456e28d4f29c1bc79422fa6397021052911849 3 Possible Observables: Anti-gravity. This FLIR footage was recorded on the night of March 1st, 1991 in Daytona, Florida. The footage was taken by two policemen from the Volusia, County Sherriff's Office. Mark Paterson, who served as a police airplane and helicopter pilot for (18) years. Mark, and his partner Jim Delarosa, captured an unknown flying object with the FLIR camera mounted on their helicopter. https://preview.redd.it/vbm882d0sw881.jpg?width=1742&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cb7759055d0af706c8e88ca428cc3af13fb9b30c 4 Possible Observables: Anti-gravity and Instantaneous Acceleration at Hypersonic Speeds with no sonic boom. This video was recorded in 1993 at Golf Breeze, Florida. This area is no stranger to UFO activity. Since there had been multiple UFO sightings reported back in 1988 and most recently in 2019. I couldn't find much about who filmed it nor the specific date of the alleged sighting. https://preview.redd.it/q6r8ywj6sw881.png?width=698&format=png&auto=webp&s=ca410618148733838d3b6c5ea7f11f3dbe459d88 5 Possible Observables: Anti-gravity plus Instantaneous Acceleration. The alleged UAP is capable of slowing down then instantly accelerating. It can also perform very sharp and fluid maneuvers. This FLIR Footage was taken by a government controlled state-of-the-art radar tracking system at a remote tracking location known as Area S30 on the Nellis Test Range in Nevada, on March 8th, 1994. The radar-controlled cameras monitor the 7700 square miles above the range. The most logical explanation for this UFO would be that it is some sort of secret project, but typically the contractor personnel at the tracking stations are not exposed to these highly classified projects and the cameras are normally deactivated when those types of projects are flying. https://preview.redd.it/sroivocesw881.jpg?width=1801&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=914baa4d76b6473935798d48c568be3d3b54f6fd 6 Possible Observables: Anti-gravity. This video was taken by Tim Edwards on August 27th, 1995 in Salida, Colorado. Tim passed away in 2008. Needless to say, Colorado is no stranger to UFO activity. Here is an interview with Tim Edward's daughter, Brandy Edwards, who witnessed the alleged UFO with her sister and late father. Also the alleged UFO appears to be rotating which causes the illusion that is getting bigger and smaller on both ends. Stabilized video. https://preview.redd.it/q1c8ajvjsw881.jpg?width=1400&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7f35e1fa43dda617b019023c96b726462b01f17d 7 Possible Observables: Anti-gravity plus instantaneous acceleration. This video was taken in 2003, overlooking 🌋 Arenal Volcano, Costa Rica, in a town called La Fortuna. This area also has had some UFO activity in the past. For instance, on September 4th, 1971, a group of topographers was taking areal photos for the Costa Rican National Geographic Institute. The camera was mounted on a plane and would take photos every (13) seconds. The Costa Rican government needed this information, for they were about to build a dam in the area. Which was eventually built, creating a man-made lake named after the volcano. One of the photos taken by the topographers on the plane, caught an alleged UFO over Lake Cote which sits in in the vicinity of the Lake Arenal / Volcano region. Here is a Close-Up. https://preview.redd.it/xn815chosw881.jpg?width=2200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d8d75e2a1c317e1f99cfd4c18adff192a05e5900 8 Possible Observables: Anti-gravity. This FLIR footage was recorded by the Mexican Air Force on March 5th, 2004. These pilots were scouting the area for possible drug trafficking off the coast of Campeche, Mexico. When they stumbled upon the alleged fleet of UAP. Here is a more complete version of the video. The crew claimed to have been surrounded by the fleet. https://preview.redd.it/tphne3lusw881.jpg?width=1135&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cd0512bc348fb49aba961c6046ed7a7461d6a6e3 9 Possible Observables: Anti-gravity and Instantaneous Acceleration. This one is part of the (3) videos which originally leaked into the internet via "To The Stars Academy" ( TTSA). These videos were featured on the NYT article by Leslie Kean revealing the existence of AATIP. The videos would later be authenticated by the Pentagon. The first video, FLIR was taken by wizzo Chad Underwood, from the USS Nimitz Carrier Strike Group over the Pacific Ocean off the San Diego, California coast, sometime between November 10th - 14th, 2004. Here you can watch an interview with Chad about the incident. The video was filmed, shortly after David Fravor's UAP encounter. It is important to note that crewmembers from this strike group have described heavy UFO activity around their area of operations. This video has been analyzed by Richard Hoffman and his team of scientists. https://preview.redd.it/3tuemqcgtw881.jpg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=31735ef2fc69f4547159d38ed873441dc67b0700 10 Possible Observables: Anti-gravity and Instantaneous Acceleration. This cellphone video was recorded by Marvin Badilla with his Motorola Razr on November 22nd, 2007 in Tarbaca, Costa Rica. The UAP appears to be a small, "classic saucer." https://preview.redd.it/li5pou6b3xu81.png?width=1600&format=png&auto=webp&s=2b2ae90cec08f504263842d4ba6670f1a96a566f 11 Possible Observables: Anti-gravity and Instantaneous Acceleration. This video comes from one out of several webcams triangulating 🌋 Colima Volcano in Mexico. The footage taken on March 12th, 2018, shows an alledged UAP which appears to be traveling extremely fast. So fast ,in fact that all the camera can perceive is the object as a streak of light. On December 21st, 2000 a journalist took a series of long exposure photographs overlooking Popocatépetl Volcano🌋. Another highly active volcano in Mexico, which sits in close proximity to hiughly populated areas.hich at the time was undergoing an eruption. One of the photos showed an alleged UFO doing an elliptical maneuver in the air. There have been multiple videos taken in this area, by these webcams, which have captured some of the alleged UFO activity. https://preview.redd.it/ry2zip9bvw881.png?width=2550&format=png&auto=webp&s=0384fe6e834807ebf496d8559fda6924a16f78f8 12 Possible Observables: Anti-gravity, Low Observability, Trans-medium Travel. This FLIR footage was taken on April 25th, 2013 in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. This used to be an USAF base. But it was later turned into Rafael Hernández Intl. Airport. The video was taken by Homeland Security personnel aboard a DHC-8 Turboprob plane, using a FLIR camera. This crew was on a mission to monitor possible drug trafficking activity over the sea. But they picked up the alleged UAP shortly after take off. The video is corroborated by radar data. And this has been analyzed by Richard Hoffman and his team of scientists. Here is a Zoom-In version of the video. In addition, another scientist Kevin Knuth, has made relevant observations about the "Aguadilla" footage. https://preview.redd.it/4djfuwcgvw881.jpg?width=1086&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6c25a1465ac65357e5af4b7b53c03107ab1d104a 13 Possible Observables: Anti-gravity, Low Observability. This video was recorded in a rural area near Port Huron, Michigan on October 27th, 2013. The extremely luminous alleged UAP appears to be rotating on its axis as it hovers above the car belonging to the witness. Who wishes to remain anonymous. https://preview.redd.it/k4do8atyvw881.jpg?width=1600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1881f88e88659c3a8589199ba41be8823764fe07 14 Possible Observables: Anti-gravity.
