<Special Friends> is a longstanding, midcore guild looking to recruit new friends to progress with us into Dragonflight. Throughout the guild's history, we've always striven for Ahead of the Curve (AOTC) as a baseline, and have achieved that every tier since Throne of Thunder. Over the last seven years, we've taken down a number of early to mid-level Mythic bosses while still maintaining our "casual", six hours a week raid schedule. Our goal is simply to progress as far as possible within the two raid days we have, and enjoy doing so with our close-knit community. We have a very active M+ community, with the majority of members achieving the +15 seasonal Feat of Strength regularly and pushing up into much higher levels.
Many of our members have been playing since the initial launch of Vanilla WoW and have been in Cutting Edge or hardcore raiding guilds in past expansions. Today, we find ourselves a little older and with a little more life in the way, most of us with careers and families. The majority of our player base are "late 20 to mid 30 somethings" that still want to kill bosses efficiently, but not without also having fun with our friends while doing it. Our policies are pretty relaxed, but when it comes down to raiding, we do take new content and our raid times seriously. We expect our members to be diligent raiders, showing up on time, fully gemmed, enchanted, loaded with consumables, and knowledgeable on fights (note that we will provide as many enchants, gems, and consumables as we can to members who ask prior to raid free of cost - we just ask that you contribute to the guild bank). We understand that real life is more important than a game, and occasional absences will happen. With this in mind, we simply ask that our members keep us informed on Discord in the event they will miss a raid and maintain as close to 100% attendance as possible during progression.
Currently, has a roster size of approximately 25 raiders of varying desires ranging from mythic progression to casual orientation, including a number of new recruits. Nearly all of our players have years of AOTC/mid-mythic or better experience. Roster spots for may classes are currently available, though we are in particular need of an ultra-reliable Mage. We hope to find new friends similar to ourselves, who value raiding and M+ content in a mature gaming community, to enjoy Dragonflight with and progress as far as we can. Our core has been together for many years and values the relationships we've built together as friends over progress in game. We expect everyone to be dedicated to the game and pushing the limit, but do not consider ourselves a Cutting Edge guild at this time. Finally, we expect everyone to act like adults in our guild; take responsibility for errors or mistakes you make, have thick skin and be able to take a joke, and be open to constructive criticism - we're happy to coach, but you've got to put in the effort first and foremost. That said, we're an inclusive guild that is welcoming to all - just understand that raid spots are earned, and you may be asked to sit on progression encounters if a certain composition is needed or depending on the extent of your past raid experience. We operate as a team, not as individuals.
At the moment, we are looking for raiders with at least AOTC (and ideally Mythic) experience for our late Season 1 roster as we get deeper into Mythic prog and start looking towards next season. Context: I need to make a trip daily from somewhere in LaSalle (Windsor, ON, Canada, you know, right across the bridge) to Wayne State University. The distance is about 8 miles from my house to the border and 4 miles from the border to Wayne. Due to parental pressure, I do not have a car and cannot afford to work full-time.
My current plan is to bike 8 miles to the border, park my bike at UWindsor, take the tunnel bus to Caeser's Stadium, and walk the half mile to WSU. The only downsides to this are the daily fee of $20 and having to walk through downtown Detroit at night as a skinny Asian.
Could you guys please let me know if there are alternatives or cheapefaster methods of making this trip? I'm rather young so I know literally nothing about buying cars. From what my parents told me to obtain a vehicle that won't break down after a month and setting up insurance would cost over $10k which is unobtainable for me at the moment.

Since November I chose that I'll opt for pcm but then after boards I asked my parents for sending me to a different city coz we don't have good coachings here but they denied and now they're denying for dummy too , my friend said take commerce it'll be easy for you coz of your situation. My parents are mostly emotionally abusive. I’m also transgender M and they don’t really support me, they just tolerate it.
I wanted and almost tried to kill myself about almost a year ago now. They knew about it and seemed to want to help me.
Today we had an argument over how I spend my money in games and how it’s stupid and a waste and I don’t value things (I am a very academic student even part of Academic Decathlon and other activities so I like to spend time freely on games especially Sims which revolved buying new DLC). My dad lied to me saying he wouldn’t check what I bought anymore, and I tried asking why he lied to me again but they insisted I leave.
So after a good 10 minutes as I was leaving I finally said what I’d wanted to say arguments prior: It’s stuff like this that made me want to kill myself. I shut their door. Then I hear a loud, “KILL YOURSELF ALREADY!” From my Mom. The one I tended to trust more with stuff but she tends to be 50/50 to know if I can count on her.
It broke me and I called my boyfriend as I had texted him the exact words. He said he will run right now to my (20 min) house and take me to his. Our house has doors that notify, as well as my phone having a tracker (I know we can bypass it with the door open for the dog but still). I’m aware legal action can happen, and I’m scared it’ll only make things worse. He’s worried for my safety and said I can come today or tomorrow and stay for as much as I need.
His parents aren’t home for a week and his brother and his gf are the only ones there. We start school next Monday too. What do I do? Can I run away without harming his family from legal issues or consequences?

We are trying to set a routine for our white retriever 'Idly'🐶He is 3.5 months old and has been at our home for a week now. We are looking for ideas on how to keep him engaged (we are thinking of Kong toys or slow feeder etc) we are looking for - Recommendations / ideas to keep him engaged - any changes to be done in his schedule. At present, his schedule is roughly like below
6AM He wakes up. We take him out to our balcony where he pees.
7:15AM - We feed him kibbles (we do some basic command training using kibbles before we feed)🥣 - take him out for a walk outside and be poops 💩
8:AM to 1:30PM He either naps or plays with some chew toys or sometimes we engage with him 🍖
Around 2PM - We feed him home cooked meals with a short training session🍲 - Take him out on a short walk (may or may not poop) 🦮

5:30PM to 8:30PM Loiter around, play with toys, we engage with him 🪀

OATS is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing low cost transportation to the people of Missouri. They do this by equipping large vans and small busses to be transportation vehicles. Riders will call at least 24 hours in advance to schedule where and when the driver will pick them up and drop them off, like a shared Uber ride. This means that you can have a driver come right to your house and drop you off right where you need to go, exactly when you need to.
Coverage for said transportation can range quite a bit depending on where you are in the State, while they cover most of the state, they only cover certain areas all 5 days a week. They have different areas and routes with different rules, like certain drives are only allowed to be done for medical purposes, certain busses are only out a few days a month or have very limited hours. They're a non-profit with public funding for certain areas, they don't have enough resources for it to be as available as they'd like it to be. They typically charge between $1-$3 a stop, or $4 per county you go through if you're on a bus going that far. Rural riders coming into the city can get a hundreds long mile ride for less than $10.
OATS isn't perfect. At the end of the day it's just ride sharing. The largest bus I saw had 20 removable seats, smaller than a short school bus. There weren't a ton of people on the bus either, the most people I ever saw on the bus was 10 or so. But this is transportation that works in even the most car dependant of areas. This is public transportation for tiny rural towns that otherwise could never have public transport, public transportation through completely unwalkable suburbs and municipalities. I couldn't have gone to college without them. Many disabled people I rode with told me that they wouldn't have had the independence they had if it wasn't for their ability to get around with OATS.
People use rural transportation as a gotcha for busses and trains, I would say OATS is a perfect counter argument. I also see this as a great way to bring back the idea of public transit to some places that don't have it. It's a glimpse of what's possible, a potential model to provide everybody with some public transit.

I was digging around Reddit looking for answers this week and I figured I’d pay it forward sharing my experience!
2 weeks ago I scheduled my appt for Boston at 11:00 am (not near where I live but cheapest RT ticket on SW). - I had a 6:30 am flight to Boston, we landed right around 8. - I got passport office by 8:20 (I assume they opened at 8 and there was a very small line of people in front of me 10 ppl max) - I handed in my documents for processing by 8:45 and passport in hand by 10!
I had a noon flight back home for international travel in two days but they did take my return flight on consideration and I was there so early. Local people/people who drove were told around 3 unless processed earlier. They did verify my return and international flights on my airline app. Everyone was so nice, even the security staff. Hi everyone. I am a 25 year old female who is considered about early stage Cushings Disease or possible malfunction of my pituitary or adrenal glands. Yes, I’ve been seeing several doctors before considering posting and understand that Reddit is not a source for medical advice. I’ve been to a neurologist (originally for Bell’s palsy as noted below) and got an MRI that revealed an enlarged pituitary gland. The neurologist doesn’t think anything is wrong and I had to push for testing on cortisol because he thought I had a thyroid problem even though I told him I was positive it would be cortisol. He’s now referred me to an endocrinologist after I asked for certain tests to be ordered and my cortisol came back high. If anyone could tell me what they think could be happening to me, I’d greatly appreciate it so I could know where to look since the neurologist has now referred me to an endocrinologist, but all the endocrinologist are booked until the end of July. I’ve been in a lot of pain which has resulted me in not being able to participate in social activities or go to the gym as often. Please find more details below:

History:
PTSD since 2018
panic disorder, major depression, anxiety diagnosed prior to 2018
I was tested for Rheumatoid Arthritis in 2021 due to severe joint pain that caused me to quit work. Work was high stress with an unconventional schedule (would work closing and opening shifts while also working during the day). Docs did a blood test and concluded general arthritis.
Nov. 2021 Covid with memory loss, loss of smell, altered taste, hair loss
July 2022 Covid with memory problems again (not as severe as the first time with Covid), altered taste
Starting September 2022:

• sudden worsening PTSD symptoms with constant high heart rate (resting is in the 90s)
• frequent panic attacks with no trigger
• dizzy spells (both after panic attacks and without panic attack)
• Mood swings/irritability with breakdowns (new symptom, never had with ptsd)
• Memory problems
• loss of appetite/nausea
• Weight gain (specifically in the face), not significant but usually have trouble gaining weight and now gaining weight
• headaches (history of migraines but more frequent and in the front right area)
• bad body aches similar to 2021 but more over the whole body and with random moderate-severe joint pain. Normally a very active female who could workout 6 days a week. Now only able to workout 2-3 days with low intensity.
• Worsening insomnia
• Partial Bell’s palsy on the left side in Dec 2022, now fully recovered

Took blood tests and had 2 MRIs

• First blood tests included TSH + free T4, FSH and LH, ACTH, Prolactin and Growth Hormone. The only thing that came back out of range was ACTH which was 65.5 pg/ml. The scale for ACTH was 7.2-63.3 pg/ml and was taken around 7-7:30am.
• Second blood test (I requested cortisol the first test but the doctor didn’t want to order it. Doc agreed to order the second time). This test was taken later than planned due to testing place. Went in at 6:50am and didn’t get blood drawn until 9am. ACTH came back within normal range (21 pg/ml but taken almost 2 hours later than initial test). Both am and pm cortisol came back high. AM cortisol was 38.2 (normal range 6.2-19.4 ug/dl). PM cortisol was 17.9 (normal range 2.3-11.9 pg/ml taken close to 5pm).

MRI

• First MRI due to Bell’s palsy and was just a brain MRI with and without contrast. Doctor who reviewed the radiology noted a “The pituitary gland appears quite prominent in size, but homogeneous in intensity. This appearance most likely represents benign pituitary hyperplasia in a young healthy hormonally active female. A pituitary adenoma is a less likely possibility. Please correlate with serum prolactin level.” No further measurements or details given.
• Second MRI was of the brain and pituitary with and without contrast. MRI was reviewed by the same doctor as the first. “The pituitary gland is prominent in size, but homogeneous in texture. It measures 13 mm left-right x 8.5 mm craniocaudal x 8 mm anterior-posterior. No discrete pituitary tumor is identified. This appearance most likely represents benign pituitary hyperplasia in a young healthy hormonally active female. A pituitary adenoma is a less likely possibility.The pituitary stalk is midline in position. The optic chiasm appears normal and uninvolved. Both adjacent cavernous sinuses and contents appear normal also.”

I am concerned there may be a small benign tumor being missed on the MRI or may be located in the adrenal glands. If not a tumor, then possible malfunctioning of the pituitary or adrenal glands. Main concern with symptoms are the dizzy spells and mood swings as I’m normally a patient and optimistic person, but my mood swings are severe and cause emotional breakdowns.

hello , so here’s a little manifestation success story that happened to me today. at 8 am my electricity in my home got shut off and there was a notice in my mailbox saying that they were shutting it off because of lack of payment . at the time my mom owed $400 in order for our electricity to be restored . when this happened the old me would have been furious and upset that i couldn’t even game or charge my phone but instead I shook it off and said “it’ll be alright , it will work out” let me say that we had no funds to pay for this at the moment , no one had $400 out of their pockets or anything.
I went to work that same day and i kept repeating that everything was alright and that our electricity was working. i went through my long shift affirming that there will be electricity when i went home and saying “of course I’ll game when I get home” , basically like assuring myself that there was no way that our electricity was out. when i got off the bus and walked home i affirmed for the last time while going up my steps. I heard the tv on ! i immediately felt my heart beating really fast and i was smiling. our electricity was on , like it never went off.
let me remind you that we had absolutely no way to pay this bill and they weren’t gonna give us an extension or anything . I kept positive the whole day and my affirmations came to life.

Have you read The Count of Monte Cristo before?

A bit of backstory:
I have been in a relationship with my BF for 4.5 years. He is kind and caring, and makes me laugh which are things I believe are important
I live with my 4 siblings and parents while he lives in another city for school (university) (6 hours away). And I am in full time uni as well. I believe I have been a great girlfriend, if he needs something I am there, I give him affection and attention and we call for 2-3 hours every night. We see each other in person every 2 ish weeks.
I have also been trying to lose weight. Which is where most of the issue comes in. When we met I was 172 lbs. For the first 1.5 years of our relationship. When covid hit, and a mixture of the wrong birthcontrol i gained weight to 250lbs in 7 months. I am now at 220lbs today. At 5"9'. It has taken me a while to lose the weight, I have ptsd, anxiety and depression and it is genuinely difficult for me to keep a proper schedule.
He says i was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen when he first saw me. And still says I'm pretty now but that when we first met I was just so crazy beautiful. I started to feel incredibly insecure when I first realized i was gaining weight and it led to a lot of fights. I am glad he said something because I was in a state of denial.
I have been trying to keep on schedule but with everything that goes on in my life, I am having so many problems. I appreciate his support.. sometimes. He was asking me every single day if I had hit my goal for that week, and making condescending comments. Like "are you going to reach it by this time like you Said you would"..etc.
I reached a point last night and told him he cannot bring up the topic but every two weeks. He was incredibly concerned because he believed I would slack and not care, and without his reminders I wouldn't do anything. He says he's done sugar coating it and repeats that how long realistically is he going to have to wait. He supports me and understands that it takes time but that he knows he is selfish in that he wants everyone to be jealous of him because of me.
He repeats this every few months and it sends me into a panic.
Last night he said he was also under a lot of stress because of school, money and my weight. (I asked his three top stressors). He says that nothing goes right for him and that nothing is good in his life anymore because everything he does fails. (He keeps rather expensive fish, and he is incredibly attached to them and two years ago one died that has ruined the hobby for him)
He tells me he is numb and doesn't know what he wants with life anymore, doesn't know if he loves me or anything anymore, and could die tommorow and he wouldn't care.
I ask him why he wouldn't get help??
He also repeats this every few months, but says he does not want sympathy, he just has to fix it himself and the weight is something for me to deal with (acknowledges he is a bad person for saying it though)
We went on a cruise in January for 8 nights, we just went to a party last weekend where he had fun!, and there's so much to be happy for, I don't understand. I am trying to understand his perspective.
My friends ask me why I stay with him. He has his good moments, and we are compatible in our life goals, what we want to do with life and family.
It just feels to me, he took what I said and made it about him. He asked me today during our call and I said I had nothing to add. That I did not want to discuss it, and when he looked upset, and I asked him why, he sort of mocked me in the I have nothing to say. Then we ended the call.
I would genuinely like some advice. I am trying to get some introspection into the behavior. I understand he wants the best for me but he is so cold about it..
Tldr; 4.5 year relationship, history of good times but my weight bothers my boyfriend so much he is stressed, I don't want to breakup but I don't know what to do?

TLDR: wife sabotaged a vacation, deeper issues within?
We scheduled an adults only group vacation after months of our social circles wives group planning a cruise from FL to Mexico and back. A simple 4 night 5 day cruise. We plan something like this about every 5-8 years with my college social circle. We bought tickets in November 22, for a cruise in April 23. We all See each other 1-2 times a year and sometimes play online zoom style role playing games with the guys or everyone at times. My wife is the most introverted of the group by far. She is the little sister of one of the guys in the group and knows everyone quite well. We were all each others groomsmen for every wedding that we could attend. Our kids all get along well and meet up at least once a year for our group parties usually around the Super Bowl or 4th of July or hurricane parties.
We bought tickets for a cruise event, with 12 people attending. 2 guys of our social circle are unavailable or it would have been 16 with wives. Both unable to attend due to work issues. We identified that my wife’s passport was expired the same day we booked tickets. She said she was getting it renewed. I asked about late Dec/Jan and was brushed off that it was taken care off. I assumed that meant it was shipped off and pending. I wasn’t trying to micromanage at all and didn’t even think about it again. Today, my work was trying to get me to travel to CA from FL for emergency work deployment. Stuff that usually lasts a few weeks to a few months. I have passed on these opportunities for the past few weeks as this cruise was coming up and I had enough local work that I was fine. My wife walks in says while I am on the phone I should go and cancel the cruise. We were supposed to be celebrating a buddies 50th bday and this was going to be a well needed break from the kids for a couple days. I said there was no reason to cancel and we were good. This is where she drops a bombshell. She said her passport isn’t valid and she can’t go on the cruise and that I should go to my deployment and to cancel the tickets as she never wanted to go. I was a bit floored and thought she was full of it and just fucking with me.
Queue a few hours later. I go check the passports and sure as shit only hers is expired. I ask her why she didn’t renew it. “Because” is her answer. I say that’s not good enough and she says that’s all I am going to get. She specifically sabotaged this cruise event. I have looked up the rules on cancellations and within 30 days it’s a 100% abandonment of ticket price. I cannot yet talk to them about rescheduling or transfer of tickets. I found out that it’s a closed loop cruise to Mexico only so legally a passport isn’t needed unless the cruise line requires it. It’s way to late to rush job it. That’s a 7-9 week turn around, and she has zero intention of participating. I don’t feel comfortable with the idea of compelling her to attend a cruise that she is obviously adamant about skipping. We splurged for the nicer balcony suite with concierge and all the bonuses you could upgrade to. This was all done jointly. This wasn’t the ideal cruise but it was one that worked for everyone attending and the various price points hit well for all The various folks attending.
Wife has become much more introverted post Covid world. If she can avoid leaving the house, she will. She rarely will even get groceries and prefers to send me or order all online for delivery. She has bought into the hype that everything outside is devolving into chaos. I have tried to keep her involved outside but it’s been limited to her comfort level.
I was struck dumb when she dropped that bombshell on me. Deliberate sabotage was not what I expected to be dealing with today. At this point, $4000 is on the line. It’s a decent amount of money but It’s not going to bankrupt us to loose it. I’m hoping I can get a cruise credit or get lucky and use the cruise insurnace I bought in some way to cash out for a 200$ per ticket loss. I’ve had to apologize to my group profusely. It’s embarrassing to have to do so for deliberate actions.
I’m more annoyed because I have been planning a surprise 20th anniversary vacation right after this. It was going to about 2 weeks later for a 2 week trip. I was putting together a two option plan since I couldn’t solve it myself. It was either a kid free two week tour of England for all fun history, or a two week New Zealand tour with a LOTR theme which she was going to get to pick. I’ve spent months arranging long term child and pet care, and researching it down to two options out of every possible vacation idea on the planet. Without a passport we are totally stuck.
I’m looking for some advice. I’m expecting to ask her to attend counseling with me. There are some issues that I cannot grasp at this time.
