| This is a list of all the McDonald's that retained the old school look at the start of 2022, the ones without any note still have the original look as of my knowledge. Note: I have not visited these locations and I am only getting this information from the internet. So if one of these locations is getting a remodel I didn't know about don't blame me. McDonald's location on Idaho St in Elko, Nevada. Sadly, this one was demolished and remodeled last year into the modern look. 2023.04.27 03:11 HawkFan907 Final 2 Round 2023 Mock Draft based on latest Intel
This is the final stab at figuring out the draft. This isn't what I would do, but this is based on all of the sources. In the first round I put the person responsible for the source. Some picks just don't have sources or the players linked to the org. have already been taken, so I went BPA at a player of need. There is a ton of conflicting information below and about 50 guys that might end up in the first round, so take the mock with a grain of salt. Like you guys, I'm excited to finally get this thing kicked off.
Sources
Mel Kiper, Todd McShay, Matt Miller, Daniel Jeremiah, Bucky Brooks, Adam Schefter, Chris Mortensen, Tony Pauline, Lance Zierlein, Jim Nagy, Peter King
Buzz around Teams from various sources
--------------------------------------
CAR - Young seems to be a lock
HOU - Trending towards picking a defender unless ownership overrides the pick. They may like Wilson more than Anderson. Levis is now the odds on favorite to go #2. They might trade for Trey Lance. Love JSN with #12. If Hooker is available in the late first, they might try and move up to grab him. In short, no one knows what they are doing.
ARI - Trade down by any means necessary. If not possible, take the other pass rusher... unless the Pauline report is accurate and they love Paris Johnson Jr. Could see Hopkins traded.
IND - Locked in on Levis, even ahead of Stroud, although they have been quiet on Richardson. Could like Richardson more. Levis is more ready to take the reigns week 1 though. Matt Miller claims that the Manning family has "signed off" on Levis. They think he will be a good pick.
SEA - Not big on Carter, so they could pivot to Witherspoon if both pass rushers are gone... although they may like Richardson and Stroud better. Others say they are big on Carter. Could be a GM (Richardson) vs Coach (Carter) decision. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out. Seattle will not pass on Anderson if he is there. They are also cash strapped so they may even trade down from pick 1.5 even if guys like Richardson and Carter are on the board.
DET - In a good position to go BPA. No buzz linking them to Carter. Stroud or a CB likely.
LV - Fowler and McShay both say they are out on QBs. Likely CB spot.
ATL - GM typically goes BPA, so don't be surprised if the pick here is either Carter or Bijan. Looking to trade down so a possible trade down and draft Bijan is on the table.
CHI - A sneaky spot for Bijan. Love Carter and the belief is that they are the absolute floor for him. They have been linked to long-armed tackles
PHI - May trade up for Carter or Johnson Jr, don't overlook Skoronski here. They are out on Bijan.
TEN - Still have interest in QBs; Could move Henry during the draft; May take BPA on OL or JSN; Trading Derek Henry is a possibility; Don't rule them out of trading for Trey Lance if they miss on a QB. The absolute floor for CJ Stroud and they may even trade up for him if he starts to slide as pick #3 may be too rich.
NYJ - Look for the Jets to take an explosive OL (B. Jones & Wright fit the bill). Might trade back if OT they like is gone and target OC. They are the floor for JSN.
NE - OT or Zay Flowers seem to be their main interest but they are tight lipped. True wildcard and rumored to be looking to trade up for a QB and target Levis. They have soured on Mac Jones.
GB - Love JSN but it is likely he will be gone by the time they pick. Will address both OL and pass catchers
WAS - No real news on what they would do. CB is who exports mock, but many could see OL and TE. Trading Chase Young is a possibility.
PIT - May move up for a top tier OT or could take JPJ
TB - Nobody has any idea honestly. OT, 3T, DE, CB all in play.
LAC - Like Zay, Nolan Smith, and Kincaid
BAL - Don't rule out WR even with OBJ; Could go CB or EDGE. Seem to like Nolan Smith.
MIN - Linked to Hendon Hooker or may make a big move up for a QB.
JAX - Brian Branch is a popular fit and haven't heard much else besides possibly a 3T.
NYG - Love JMS at the Center position and could grab him here. Quentin Johnston also has buzz.
DAL - Likely to go BPA but seem to really like Avila, Mayer, or Bijan
BUF - Smaller WR seems to be a fit, so possibly Addison. Linked to Arizona for a Hopkins trade.
CIN - Lots of buzz around Gibbs
NO - Don't be surprised to see them trade up for a pass rusher; Have also been linked to Steve Avila.
KC - Could move up for Zay, but also have been linked to Johnston and Harrison. Linked to Arizona for a Hopkins trade.
LAR - Seem to be honing in on a pass rusher with this pick
MIA - IOL or TE seem likely
DEN - No idea what they are think
CLE - likely IDL
SF - Don't rule out more WR help in Rd. 3

PHI - 1.10, 3.94, 2024 4th to ATL for 1.08
MIN - 1.23, 4.119, 2024 1st to TEN for 1.11
NYG - 1.25, 3.89 to Seattle for 1.20
GB - 2.42, 3.78 to PHI for 1.30, 2024 5th
1.1 Carolina - Bryce Young QB Alabama (EDP 1.1)
Source - Multiple
1.2. Houston - Tyree Wilson DE Texas Tech (5.9)
Source - Lance Zierlein & Schrager
Houston-based Zierlein called their picks correctly last year so he has earned the benefit of the doubt. Definitely not a QB per Zierlein and Schefter.
1.3. Arizona - Paris Johnson OT Ohio St. (1)0
Source - Tony Pauline
I have NO IDEA who would trade up this high. Honestly I thought LV would for Stroud but all of the latest buzz has been about them not going QB (McShay & Fowler)
1.4. Indianapolis - Will Levis QB Kentucky (7.7)
Source - Multiple, mostly McShay
My heart and head both say Richardson, but the ears still say Levis.
1.5. Seattle - Will Anderson EDGE Alabama (3.7)
Source - None, just BPA at a position of need
Rumor is that their board starts with Anderson, so if he is here then it is a no brainer.
1.6. Detroit - C.J. Stroud QB Ohio St. (3.8)
Source - McShay (parachute slot for Stroud)
1.7. Las Vegas - Devon Witherspoon CB Illinois (7.9)
Source - McShay, Fowler
The pick will be a corner but there has been buzz for both of them here. McShay mentioned that 2/3rds of NFL teams had Witherspoon ranked higher so he is the pick here.
1.8. Philadelphia* - Jalen Carter DT Georgia (5.6)
Source - Charlie Campbell, multiple
1.9. Chicago - Christian Gonzalez CB Oregon (9.8)
Source - BPA at a position of need (Johnson Jr. and Carter off the board)
1.10. Atlanta* - Bijan Robinson RB Texas (15.6)
Source - Multiple (GM is a notorious BPA guy)
1.11. Minnesota* - Anthony Richardson QB Florida (8.2)
Source - Multiple claiming a trade up is possible
One year left of Kirk and they try for the home run. Why else would there be buzz to move up if not for a QB?
1.12. Houston - Jaxon Smith-Njigba WR Ohio St. (14.4)
Wish they could move down, but instead snag a WR in front of a number of needy teams
Source - Multiple expert mocks
1.13. Green Bay - Peter Skoronski OT/IOL Northwestern (11.4)
Source - BPA Legacy Pick
1.14. New England - Zay Flowers WR Boston College (22.1)
Source - Spent Entire Day with organization on visit

1.17. Pittsburgh - Darnell Wright OT Tennessee (17.8)
Source - Matt Miller
1.18. Detroit - Steve Avila IOL TCU (46.7)
Source - Benjamin Allbright, Scott Smith
Seems rich, but there have been reports that to really want a stud to plug that hole
1.19. Tampa Bay - Anton Harrison OT Oklahoma (28.3)
Source - Bucs Nation
1.20. NYG* - Deonte Banks CB Maryland (22.1)
Source - BPA at position of need
1.21. LAC - Nolan Smith DE Georgia (15.2)
Source - Random Team source in a Patreon podcast from a comment some guy shared on Reddit
1.22. Baltimore - Lukas Van Ness DE Iowa (17.7)
Source - Kiper, Klatt
I haven't mocked an EDGE to them, but this makes sense
1.23. Tennessee* - Hendon Hooker QB Tennessee (35.7)
Source - Titans Wire
1.24. Jacksonville - Brian Branch S Alabama (24.9)
Source - BPA at position of need
There is a rumor that they will do something crazy here... a Baalke special if you will. No idea what so I'm going BPA.
1.25. Seattle* - John Michael Schmitz OC Minnesota (41.3)
Source - Pauline (no idea why I am trusting him on the Seahawks but hey, here we are)
1.26. Dallas - Michael Mayer TE Notre Dame (21.6)
Source - Multiple
1.27. Buffalo - Jordan Addison WR USC (22.4)
Source - Multiple
1.28. Cincy - Jahmyr Gibbs RB Alabama (33.8)
Source - McShay
1.29. New Orleans - Myles Murphy DE Clemson (21.7)

Source - BPA at position of need
1.31. Kansas City - Quentin Johnston WR TCU (24.3)

ROUND 2
2.32. Pittsburgh - Emmanuel Forbes CB Mississippi St. (28.3)
Many are saying first round lock but couldn't find a spot. Maybe Jags.
2.33. Houston - Joe Tippmann OC Wisconsin (52.5)
Giants and Seahawks could go Tippmann late first
2.34. Arizona - Calijah Kancey DT Pittsburgh (25.2)
McShay said top 20 lock, so give him proprs if he is right, I just couldn't find a spot
2.35. Indianapolis - Julius Brents CB Kansas St. (-)
Late 1st buzz due to his tools, so seems like a natural fit for Indy
2.36. LAR - Will McDonald DE Iowa St. (32.2)
He'll be a Seahawk in rd. 1 if they don't go Anderson
2.37. Seattle - Mazi Smith DT Michigan (36.7)
Could go to Cincy late 1st if Gibbs buzz wasn't so strong
2.38. Las Vegas - Adetomiwa Adebawore DE Northwestern (41)
Philly is high on him, same with NO.
2.39. Carolina - Luke Musgrave TE Oregon St. (49.7)
Could go late 1st but has medicals
2.40. New Orleans - O'Cyrus Torrence IOL Florida (27.3)
Could go as high as #18 to Lions or slide down to the Jags & Bills.
2.41. Tennessee - Josh Downs WR North Carolina (51)
Another potential Bills first round target
2.42. Philadelphia* - Matthew Bergeron IOL Syracuse (-)
Philly or KC could take him late in the first
2.43. New York - Bryan Bresee DT Clemson (29.5)
Jags & Saints have been linked to him
2.44. Atlanta - Keion White DE Georgia Tech (40.8)
Saints and Philly linked to White
2.45. Green Bay - Jonathan Mingo WR Ole Miss (-)
Bills and Saints have had Mingo mocked to them in the late 1st
2.46. New England - Kelee Ringo CB Georgia (40.6)
Mocked to Philly in the late 1st
2.47. Washington - Cody Mauch IOL NDSU (-)
True 2nd rounder
2.48. Detroit - DJ Turner CB Michigan (-)
Jags and Philly have had links to him
2.49. Pittsburgh - Keeanu Benton DT Wisconsin (-)
Late riser and I've seen him mocked to Cincy
2.50. Tampa Bay - B.J. Ojulari DE LSU (-)
Haven't seen him mocked in the first recently
2.51. Miami - Sam La Porta TE Iowa (-)
Apparently something popped up on medicals according to Josh Norris
2.52. Seattle - Darnell Washington TE Georgia (48.8)
Medical issues too apparently
2.53. Chicago - Dawand Jones OT Ohio St. (35.8)
Character issues abound but the talent is there
2.54. LAC - Jalin Hyatt WR Tennessee (37.3)
Could go extremely high but haven't seen him in Rd. 1 since March
2.55. Detroit - Drew Sanders LB Arkansas (42.4)
Popular pick in Rd. 1 early, but not lately. Cowboys and Jags could do something like that though
2.56. Jacksonville - Zacch Pickens DT South Carolina (-)
True day 2 pick
2.57. NYG - Trenton Simpson LB Clemson (-)
True day 2 pick
2.58. Dallas - Zach Charbonnet RB UCLA (-)
True day 2 pick
2.59. Buffalo - Jack Campbell LB Iowa (43.3)
They have been rumored to like him for a long time, and could spend a 1st on him. This is where positional value indicates he should go.
2.60. Cincinnati - Tyrique Stevenson CB Miami (-)
Big, physical CB fits a need
2.61. Chicago - Byron Young DE Tennessee (-)
Pairs an old Vol with another (Velus Jones)
2.62. Philadelphia - Cam Smith CB South Carolina (42.7)
Character concerns but could be a star
2.63. Kansas City - Felix Anudike-Uzomah DE Kansas State (47.6)
I've heard some late Rd. 1 buzz for him but he fits the KC scheme very well

2023.04.13 17:27 No_Impression_9624 Please help me fix my Legion 5i which is running hot (and throttling )
Edit - Images:
https://imgur.com/a/mvQYUbL I have a 2020 legion 5i . It was infested by ants a few months back and I had to clean it.The ants have completely eaten the thermal pads on the MOSFETs and memory modules surrounding the CPU. After cleaning the same, I decided to re-paste CPU and GPU with Arctic mx4 and ADWITS thermal pads for the other components.
The thermals were normal for almost a week after which my laptop began throttling. So i decided to open the laptop and I've found out that the thermal paste have been spreading out. I initially thought this could be due to some improper pasting and decided to re-paste the laptop again, and it too have failed. So after 2 failed attempts at re-pasting, I tried to stick the remaining unused ADWITS thermal pad on CPU and GPU and the thermals have become even worse (60-80 during idling).
After searching on Reddit, I've found that the products listed below have been given good reviews on this sub and elsewhere.
Gelid Solutions GP-Extreme Thermal Pad Gelid Solutions GC-Extreme Thermal Paste Can someone who've been using the thermal paste and thermal pad listed above comment on its long term performance? I don't want to open up my laptop every month to re-paste it. Or please suggest any other alternatives I can try. ( I've seen many people suggesting Honeywell thermal pads, but it seems like it's not available here in India)

2023.04.12 18:22 HawkFan907 2023 2 Round Mock based on the latest intel from League Sources
I like to listen to draft podcasts and I try and take down notes when I do. I'll write something down if they say that they've heard it from NFL scouts. As we draw closer to the draft, I end up cutting a lot of the "media-only" types from the process and focus on the guys who have real, solid connections to the league. No more analysts pounding the table for their "guy" and mocking him higher than what the league is saying. Mock drafts are about what you hear, and this is all second hand information from the guys listed below. Each position group has a series of quotes from the guys listed below. They all kind of blend together in the end. The mock is based on team needs and rumors, but let me know if they aren't a scheme fit/culture fit for your team.
Sources
--------
Mel Kiper, Todd McShay, Matt Miller, Daniel Jeremiah, Bucky Brooks, Adam Schefter, Chris Mortensen, Tony Pauline, Lance Zierlein, Jim Nagy, Peter King
QBs
---
Bryce Young is now the betting favorite after reports from Mortensen and Schefter stating that the Panthers think he is the best QB in the draft
Lance Zierlein (Houston native and plugged in to the org) thinks that if Young is gone then they'll go defense and try to find their QB next year. They still have too many holes to fill.
Schefter thinks that the Texans aren't a lock to take a QB at 2 and that the #2 pick is "for sale"
Hendon Hooker is trending up and could be a late 1st rd pick and has been linked to the Saints and Vikings
Multiple sources are claiming that the Titans will move up for a QB
DTR and Jaren Hall might be mid day 2 picks
Richardson's floor will be the Seahawks
DLs & OLBs
-------
Some experts think Carter won't make it out of the top 5 but all seem to agree that his floor is Philly at 10
After seeing his stock sharply rise after the combine, Nolan Smith seems to be settling into the middle to end of Rd 1
Many experts keep mocking the Seahawks Jalen Carter, but they have repeatedly said over the last couple of years that they value character. It is a scheme/talent fit, but not a culture fit.
Mazi Smith is getting late 1st round buzz
OLs
----------
Seattle seems locked-in on John Michael Schmitz to fill their need at center
Wright may be OT1 on multiple teams boards, and could go early teens
O'Cyrus Torrence has great tape, but positional value and mediocre testing (6.13 RAS) may push him down boards
Blake Freeland has been mentioned as a top 50 pick, because of his pass blocking and athleticism. He needs time in an NFL weight room
WR
----------
Multiple scouts believe that Jaxon Smith-Njigba is the on WR with a Rd. 1 grade (remember that teams don't have to give out 31 first round grades this year)
Addison has size going against him and he doesn't have the speed to justify being taken early, despite the great tape
TE
---------
Very deep TE class may actually push the picks down. Could see a run in the late 2nd/early 3rd
Kincaid has age and injuries going against him, but his tape is phenomenal
RB
---------
Many have been saying Bijan can go earlier than positional value may indicate
Gibbs is being underrated in the media and should go in the Breece Hall, Kenneth Walker range
ILB
-------------
Only ILB that could sneak into Rd 1 is Drew Sanders, otherwise a poor LB class
DB
------------
Some maturity concerns have popped up around Cam Smith, so don't be surprised if he falls into the middle of Day 2
Forbes is one of the lightest CBs ever and is definitely an outlier
Julius Brents is firmly in Rd 2 after talking to scouts
Riley Moss is a 2nd Round lock
Trends across expert mocks
--------------------------
Risers - Jaxon Smith-Njigba, DJ Turner, Julius Brents, Mazi Smith, Darnell Wright, Hendon Hooker
Fallers - Myles Murphy, Bryan Bresee, All LBs & WRs not named JSN
Cardinals moving down
Trades
--------
Las Vegas - 1.7, 2.38, 2024 1st to Houston for 1.2
Tennessee - 1.11, 2.41, 2024 1st to Arizona for 1.3
NYG - 1.25, 3.89 to Seattle for 1.20
Kansas City - 1.31, 3.95, 6.217 to Jacksonville for 1.24
Seattle - 2.37, 3.89 to New Orleans for 1.29, 5.146
Green Bay - Aaron Rodgers to NYJ - 2.43, 2024 Conditional pick
1.1 Carolina - Bryce Young QB Alabama
Things have shifted to Young going #1 overall
1.2. Las Vegas* - C.J. Stroud QB Ohio St.
Stroud has been in the building and fits their offense. If Young goes #1 then the Raiders could pounce.
1.3. Tennessee* - Will Levis QB Kentucky
Is there a more Vrabel QB than Levis? Rumor has it that Vrabel will have full control of the draft
1.4. Indianapolis - Anthony Richardson QB Florida
Ballard has to be excited Richardson lasts to his pick without the need to move around
1.5. Seattle - Will Anderson EDGE Alabama
Seattle stands pat and fixes their most glaring need
1.6. Detroit - Devon Witherspoon CB Illinois
CB seems to be the play with the Okudah trade
1.7. Houston* - Tyree Wilson DE Texas Tech
With so many other needs, they accumulate enough 1sts next year to guarantee they get a QB while filling out the rest of their roster
1.8. Atlanta - Bijan Robinson RB Texas
Smith marches to the beat of his own drum. Allegeier is good, but Robinson is All-Pro caliber.
1.9. Chicago - Peter Skoronski OT/IOL Northwestern
Lots of needs, but they grab the local kid who can in turn let them know what they have in Fields
1.10. Philadelphia - Jalen Carter DT Georgia
Falls this far. We'll know more right before the draft but this should be his floor.
1.11. Arizona* - Christian Gonzalez CB Oregon
They have lots of needs and grab a future shutdown corner
1.12. Houston - Jaxon Smith-Njigba WR Ohio St.
They grab the best WR in the draft
1.13. NYJ - Darnell Wright OT Tennessee
Immediate starter at RT with LT versatility. This'll let them put Becton back at his natural position.
1.14. New England - Paris Johnson OT Ohio St.
They grab the next best OT
1.15. Green Bay - Michael Mayer TE Notre Dame
TE is their largest need, and the grab one that can do it all. Also is still 21 years old.
1.16. Washington - Brian Branch S Alabama
Just a good player all-around that'll fix their NCB and SS issues
1.17. Pittsburgh - Broderick Jones OT Georgia
They need OT help and grab the next best one available
1.18. Detroit - Calijah Kancey DT Pittsburgh
Pass-rushing 3T that gives 100% effort 110% of the time
1.19. Tampa Bay - Lukas Van Ness DE Iowa
Many think he could be the next TJ Watt
1.20. NYG* - Joey Porter Jr. CB Penn St.
Trade up to grab a future stud on the outside
1.21. LAC - Zay Flowers WR Boston College
They need an infusion of speed and Flowers provides that and relishes the opportunity to play with a good QB
1.22. Baltimore - Deonte Banks CB Maryland
They need help on the outside and with OBJ in the fold they address their new largest need
1.23. Minnesota - Hendon Hooker QB Tennessee
Is this the year that the Vikings find their replacement? Nothing else seems to be working for them so they finally pull the trigger on something new.
1.24. Kansas City* - Dawand Jones OT Ohio St.
Huge hole on the right side is immediately filled
1.25. Seattle* - Mazi Smith DT Michigan
Can play either 1T or 3T in their system
1.26. Dallas - Dalton Kincaid TE Utah
Uber talented but older player will be an immediate contributor
1.27. Buffalo - Quentin Johnston WR TCU
Much needed weapon in an offense that relied on Cole Beasley late
1.28. Cincy - Anton Harrison OT Oklahoma
Stick with fixing the OL and prolonging Burrow's career
1.29. Seattle*- John Michael Schmitz OC Minnesota
Trade up to fix the biggest hole on their roster
1.30. Philadelphia - Nolan Smith DE Georgia
The rich get richer
1.31. Jacksonville* - DJ Turner CB Michigan
Speed and quickness fills their hole at NCB or CB
ROUND 2
2.32. Pittsburgh - Kelee Ringo CB Georgia
2.33. Houston - Bryan Bresee DT Clemson
2.34. Arizona - Jahmyr Gibbs RB Alabama
2.35. Indianapolis - Julius Brents CB Kansas St.
2.36. LAR - Myles Murphy DE Clemson
2.37. New Orleans* - Adetomiwa Adebawore DE Northwestern
2.38. Houston* - Joe Tippmann OC Wisconsin
2.39. Carolina - Will McDonald DE Iowa St.
2.40. New Orleans - Luke Musgrave TE Oregon St.
2.41. Arizona* - Jordan Addison WR USC
2.42. NYJ - Keeanu Benton DT Wisconsin
2.43. Green Bay* - Keion White DE Georgia Tech
2.44. Atlanta - Josh Downs WR North Carolina
2.45. Green Bay - Sydney Brown S Illinois
2.46. New England - Jalin Hyatt WR Tennessee
2.47. Washington - O'Cyrus Torrence IOL Florida

2023.04.06 13:45 boutell New US CCS chargers report for March 2023
Here are all of the new US CCS (Level 3 fast-charging) stations that rolled out in March 2023, according to the Department of Energy. These chargers are suitable for most new EVs on the market, except for:
- Tesla drivers who haven't bought the official CCS adapter yet. Certain older Teslas need additional work done to accept the adapter.
- Leaf owners like me, and some owners of older cars that also use CHADeMO. If you drive a Leaf, or an older CHADeMO car, see my matching post in leaf.
There were 158 CCS charge points added in March 2023. That's a slowdown from 192 in February, but still much better than just 87 in March of last year.
If you'd like to know about new chargers along your routes right away, or just prefer not to check this list monthly when new openings are rare in your area, I've set up a free service that provides email notifications as soon as they open. You can
sign up at evpov.com. Or not! I don't really have a business plan here, I built it to help EV owners like myself.

2023.04.05 03:32 KarmaRepellent EV6 road trip recap and lessons learned
My wife and I took our first road trip in the EV6, from Wisconsin to Indianapolis. I was worried about range. It turns out I had nothing to worry about. I'm recapping the trip in case anyone is interested.
We attempted to do the entire trip using free charging, including our EA 1000kW allowance as well as the hotel's free level 2 charger. Our first charging stop was Milwaukee. We had plenty of range to get to northern Illinois, but my bladder doesn't last as long as the range on the car, so we stopped every 1.5 to 2 hours. On the drive down, we drove through some slush and sleet, and the radar in the front got covered with about 1/4" of ice, which was enough to disable it. I cleaned it off after we stopped.
The EA station in Milwaukee is at a Wal-Mart near American Family Field. There were 9 stations, all working. This would be the biggest and best station we used. We were the only ones using the station as it was early Saturday morning. Charging speed was slow due to the cold, but it was fast enough for our needs. Each time we stopped, we used the bathroom, did a little shopping, or watched streaming video with our AndroidAuto box. The time passed quickly.
We were heading toward Chicago, and initially planned to stop at the EA station south of Chicago at Orland Park Mall. However, I was getting hungry and needed a bathroom, so we stopped at Glenview at the Target on Willow Rd. This was a nice stop, but one of the chargers was down and another was only 9kW. We were able to get a 150kW charger, but had to park in front of the broken charger because they made the stall for this machine a handicap spot and I didn't know if it was OK to park there. It was really odd.
We did end up stopping at Orland Park Mall because traffic was slow and we wanted a break. That stop didn't take long since we were only down about 20% from the previous stop. When we got there, we got the last open station. By the time we left, there were two people waiting.
Because we didn't know what to expect in Lafayette, Indiana (the chargers had been completely down earlier in the week), we stopped at Webb Hyundai in northern Indiana to top off the charge. We did have to wait about 10 minutes for another driver to finish. Whie charging, I walked up to the showroom to check out the white Ioniq 6 they had on the lot. It was beautiful - looked like the love child of a Porsche and a Star Wars stormtrooper! We paid about $5 for this charge as it was a ChargePoint station.
It was off again to Lafayette. We took the back roads to save range, which slowed us down quite a bit. We got to Lafayette with plenty of charge left, but since 1 station was open and we needed a break, we topped off here, too, after eating an early dinner. Since the charger was being updated the charge was free.
Our final leg out was to our hotel in Fishers, Indiana. We stayed at Hyatt House, chosen because of the nice rooms and the on-site free charging. Both chargers were occupied, so we just unpacked and relaxed in the room.
Sunday morning we stopped at the EA station at Meijer just south of Fishers. This was another smooth stop, with us being the only ones there. We spent the day driving and walking around Indianapolis.
Monday we visited a few other spots before returning to the hotel to find both chargers open. We plugged in and walked to the IKEA to do some shopping. It took a while to finish the charge, but the other station was available most of that time.
Tuesday morning we headed toward home. We stopped in Lafayette, then all the way to Glenview, then Milwaukee, then home. The trip back we had the same tiny issues with EA, but no waiting was needed. Unlike the trip down, the trip back we stayed on the Interstate and used a lot more battery.
A few things I learned about road-tripping in an EV:
You should plan on taking 20% longer than a ICE vehicle. This is because you'll probably drive a little slower to save range, and because the stations aren't right on the highway. We had to drive 5-15 minutes off the highway to get to the EA stations.
People I met with EVs were really friendly. I had some great conversations with drivers from all over the midwest. I saw a bunch of iD4s, an Ioniq 5, another EV6, two Lucid Airs, two Leafs, an F150 lightning, a Tesla Model S, and a BMW and Nissan. Even with the bad weather drivers were checking out each others' vehicles and asking questions.
Range really decreases when you drive fast. We could easily get 4.0 mi/kW when driving 60, but below 3 when driving 75+. If you're trying to save range, try US highways instead of Interstates. Likewise, turning off the cabin heater has a big impact on range.
EA stations are not going to always work the first time. For me, it never took more than 3 tries to start a charge. However, the entire trip was free except for the ChargePoint stop.
Plugshare is your friend. Check to see which stations are busy or down before you leave, and plan alternate stations in case something goes wrong.
Be kind at the charging stations. If someone's waiting, just get the charge you need to feel comfortable to get to your next destination. If you're waiting, don't be impatient and judgy if someone is charging to 100% - they may need the extra range to make it to their destination.
Make the charging part of the journey. Walk around in the stores, watch some streaming video, chat with the others charging or with your travel companions.
Even if I had paid for fast charging, the cost would still be about half of what it would have cost if we had brought my wife's compact ICE SUV. Plus, the ride was more comfortable, quieter, and the EV6 has more features.
We're still in the Model-T days of EVs. It takes a little planning, but the trip can be made with little stress. After this experience, I do plan to take my EV on more trips!

- APUSH teacher: I read his cuz he sent it for me to review and it was pretty basic but straight to the point. I didn't really submit his to anywhere except Yale cuz they required rec letter from core subject teacher or whatever
Interviews Didn't have any
Essays Honestly not sure about how I feel about this? I'm sorta satisfied but I resolved to not read it again after I did my college apps LOL. I started off writing about Thanksgiving and kinda used that theme to expand on my experiences as an Asian American, Christian, etc. and like how I see the world and stuff like that. It might have been a little risky not sure? I kinda regret not having like a paid service review my essay but oh well. Lol
For my supplementals I think my biggest regret is just not being able to think through making a cohesive narrative/story for myself through the supplementals.
Decisions (indicate ED/EA/REA/SCEA/RD) Acceptances: - University of Washington (Seattle) - RD -> COMMITTED!
- University of Washington (Tacoma) - EA - CS Major
- Indiana University Bloomington - RD; I got directly accepted into Kelley School of Biz
- Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis - RD - CS Major
- Arizona State University - RD - CS Major
- University of Georgia - RD - Business Information System major
- St. Olaf College - RD
- Rochester Institute of Technology - EA - Accepted into their CS and accelerated master's program
- Northwest University - EA
- University of Puget Sound - EA
- University of Denver - RD
- The George Washington University - RD
- Washington State University - RD
Waitlists: - Claremont McKenna College - Honestly super shocked by this fr
Rejections: - San Jose State University - CS major. RIP
- Yale University - RD
- Columbia University - RD
- Swarthmore College - RD
- WashU - RD
- Boston College - RD
- Duke University - RD
- Northeastern - EA (Deferred and rejected). Kinda hurt my pride a lil tbh LOL
Additional Information: I applied as a CS major to UW but didn't get in. I don't really mind cuz I applied as a CS major just to flex if I got in (jk not jk). But super thankful I got in to UW, honestly the rejections after didn't really hurt too much cuz I got the UW dub.
I'm not one of those people that have been targeting the ivies since I was in middle school. I kinda caught the prestige bug like the 2nd semester of my junior year and even then I wasn't like crying over the ivies or anything.
Looking back if I wanted to get in I honestly prolly should have EDed or started actually constructing my application way earlier. I worried alot but didn't actually do much over the summer LOL. But in hindsight I'm really glad I didn't ED.
When I was applying I desperately wanted to go to one of the T20s, but as time passed I genuinely started wanting to go to UW instead. Close to home, people I know, financially viable, etc.
With VA benefits/state benefits that come from being a veteran's dependent, I'm able to go to UW while paying $0. I'm immensely grateful. And I hope that this is a testament to how not everyone gets into T20s and that's okay! But I believe we all end up where we are supposed to be.

2023.03.29 00:45 Independent_Bike_923 Average applicant gets average results......don't really know how to feel at this point.......
I might have to explain some stuff about myself to clear any potential confusions you may have, so do please read till the end.
General Info - Gender: Male
- Race/Ethnicity: Asian
- Residence: Asia (though I am a US citizen by birth so I think that would make me a domestic applicant? idk)
- Income Bracket: $100k/$200k+
- Type of School: private + competitive (one of the best in the city where I live) It only offers the British high school curriculum (Cambridge O and A levels).
- Intended major: Biology/Biological sciences (I plan to stay on the pre-medicine track)
- Note: I did apply to some combined BS/MDs (combined bachelors and med school programs) which guarantees you a spot in medical school unless you maintain your GPA and other stuff in undergrad. I'm not sure if I was even eligible to be considered in it because only one of the programs mentioned about details for selection criteria of oversea US applicants while the others weren't specific about this. (Only US citizens can apply to these type of programs)
- GPA: N/A (my school doesn't do GPAs, but I was able to calculate it on my own and came out at around 3.7-3.8 though I'm not entirely sure if it this accurate. In general, I did have straight A results for the past three years after a rocky start at high school.)
- Academic honors: distinction in my Biology O level examinations (top in the country) and first position in my school's Biology A level first year examinations (mocks + midterms exams)
- Standardized testing scores (SAT): 1450 (790 M, 660 RW)
Activities/Extracurriculars: - Took part in multiple MUNs (did get some small personal awards and was the marketing director for my school's MUN event once)
- participated in my school's community service society. (We would invite children from a nearby underprivileged community and do many activities with them)
- took part in a special internship and observer ship program at one of the best medical schools in my city (I collaborated with the medical school's community medicine society and was able to learn & discuss about various topics, attended lectures and was able to get a glimpse of medical school life. This lasted a few weeks and was really fun :))
- took part in a community outreach program at the same medical school (coincidentally it happened during my internship and observer ship. It was more of a community service activity)
- was part of my school's science society and our team once won runner up position at a local Olympiad (didn't get to participate too much in it though)
Letters of Recommendations: - Chemistry teacher: 9/10, he is honestly my favorite teacher. Since the start of my A-Levels he really motivated me a lot to do my best and I was able to strive in Chemistry under him (even though he spoke more in the local language here which I don't really understand very well). I was also among his personal favorite students in class and while I did not get to see what he wrote, I bet it was great. I still of course have to work hard for my A-Level CAIEs now and maintain my consistency in the subject.
- Biology Teacher: 7/10, he did not really know how to write it, so I sort of had to give him a rough draft but at the same time I was busy with my assessments and other things that I feel that I could've given him a better draft lol.
- Internship/Observer ship supervisor: 9/10, I had a good relationship with him and was able to work on so many things with him and his department. I am really glad he took out the time to write it out as he was really busy at the time :)
Essays - 8/10: I wrote about my motivation of doing medicine which came through by seeing the poverty and poor healthcare infrastructure in the country where I'm residing in. My parents and counsellors liked it, but I think it was a bit too general....
- 7/10: I had A LOT of supplements to prepare, especially for the BS/MD programs. They were not too bad but not too good either as most of them were aimed at my extracurriculars which was honestly one of my weaknesses in my application....
Interviews With the one and only WashU and I took my chance. I would give it a 7/10 as I feel like I could've asked more questions as my interviewer led the conversation more than I did.
Decisions (RD/EA/ED/Rolling) - University of Missouri-Columbia (Mizzou): Rolling - accepted and awarded with $22.5k scholarship.
- University of Missouri-Kansas City (umkc): RD - rejected by BS/MD program but accepted to regular undergrad.
- Maryville University of St. Louis - Rolling: accepted and awarded with 14k scholarship.
- Siena College: RD - rejected by BS/MD program but accepted to regular undergrad.
- University of Iowa: EA - accepted (scholarship yet to be specified)
- University of Pittsburgh: Rolling - waitlisted
- WashU St. Louis: RD - Rejected (this hurt me the most as my dad did his post graduate fellowship from here)
- John Hopkins: ED - Rejected (Didn't expect to get in anyways lmao)
- Case Western University: EA - deferred and then waitlisted after going into RD.
- NYU NYC (main campus): RD - Rejected literally just one hour ago lol while I'm writing this post (depressed though)
- IUPUI (Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis): rolling - accepted.
- Stony Brook University: RD - Accepted (might have a scholarship didn't check yet)
- University of Connecticut: RD - Rejected by BS/MD but was surprisingly accepted to undergrad with 19k scholarship. (Though it's still really expensive)
- St. Bonaventure University: RD - Rejected by the BS/MD program.
Waiting on: Duke, Yale (no hopes for these two in a realistic sense) and Saint Louis University (maybe might have a chance on this one) Personal things to add: So, I am from the United States but had to move to Asia a couple of years ago due to personal family circumstances. But the thing is that I've never felt adapted to the new environment and people here. It was and is honestly tough to make friends and develop connections here as I'm not too fluent in the local language either. This is the main reason that I feel like made my high school journey was quite turbulent. During my first two years I was a below average student in terms of grades (with a lot Bs and Cs) and found it hard to motivate myself to do more in extracurriculars. While the pandemic helped me change my academic strategies and perform much better in the remaining three years of high school, I just didn't put in the effort in my extracurriculars (which was due to the different environment and type of people here and the fear of not being to balance it out with my academics as I did not want to take any chances if my grades fell again).
You may also be wondering why I applied to some of the T25/T50 colleges too. Well, honestly, I only wanted to apply to Yale and Johns Hopkins (based on my personal interest even though I never stood a chance) but my parents kind of pushed me to apply to other top colleges too (as they thought I would have a good shot since I come from a pretty complicated Asian background and other stuff) But even despite that I feel like I should've gone test optional for these top colleges as the medians were clearly higher than 1450. However, my counsellor continued to persuade me to send them to these top colleges as it would make me a better applicant than those who did not submit (idk if that's true lol). I should've known better tbh as I was pretty clueless about this. But my extracurriculars were pretty weak too.
I plan to do medicine and now that I have some acceptances at some middle tier to average schools, I'll have to decide soon. I also have the option of doing medicine from the Asian country where I'm currently residing in (which unlike the US does not require any undergrad prior to med school and you can directly matriculate after completing high school). It also takes 5 years (vs 8 years in the USA) and is much cheaper too. But because of my experiences here in middle school and high school outside the classroom and realms of academics and with the lack of connections and issues I've faced, I'm kind of unsure if I want to even consider it here as med school life is really challenging.
Anyways, I've just always wanted to go back to the United States to not only do medicine but also to bring a change in myself both personally and for my family after living here in Asia and now I have the chance to do so (even though it might be a bit more expensive). I feel like I had the potential to do so much better, but I feel my personal circumstances really brought me down. I apologize if this all felt too personal and came across as being cringey and ungrateful. It's just that this has all been over my head for the past few months and did not have anyone other than my parents to discuss this with as I don't really have any close friends here and I thought this would be a great opportunity to share this with you all on this subreddit page which is mostly full of people with 1500+ SAT scores, perfect GPAs and stellar ECs (no hate to them though, they are honestly pretty motivating to me Haha).
I would appreciate any feedback from y'all!
Thank you and good luck with your applications everyone :))
Update: I was unsurprisingly rejected by both duke and yale :(

2023.03.12 14:45 Excellent_Respond_75 I know secondary trades never happen but...
If you think the moon of AR15 and Stroud and you know that BYoung is going at #2. Would you have a conversation with Indianapolis about their offer to Chicago?
The logic is always if he is there at #1 you take him and move forward and the logic is never the other way. Well what about this one time?
Indianapolis offers #4, #39, 2024 1st rd, 2025 2nd Rd for #1 and a throw away (2024 4th rd or whatever).
The Panthes moved up from #9 to #4 basically for DJ Moore and moved up 22 picks in 2nd round.
This seems quite a win especially if you can STILL get CJ Stroud!

2023.03.11 21:21 kemeti [Hypothetical] Chris Ballard's philosophy, mindset, nearly impeccable QB track record, and the exchange with Shane Steichen behind closed doors
Disclaimer: This all is hypothetical and none of this is confirmed as facts. In fact, this could be categorized as pure fan-fiction. For all intents and purposes, this is strictly for entertainment.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Quick background on Chris Ballard according to Wikipedia: Christopher R. Ballard (born June 24, 1969) is an American football executive who is the general manager for the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League (NFL). Before joining the Colts, Ballard was an executive for the Kansas City Chiefs, where he most recently served as the Director of Football Operations, was a scout for the Chicago Bears, and served in various coaching roles at Texas A&M University–Kingsville.
Chris Ballard's philosophy according to The Athletic's: Building through the NFL Draft each year, and retaining their own draft picks long term — rather than spending big in free agency — remains the key team-building philosophy for the Indianapolis Colts under general manager Chris Ballard.
Ballard, appearing on
The Athletic's "The Athletic Football Show" podcast with host Robert Mays July 2, reiterated his belief in roster building, saying he'd rather not pay "B players A-plus player money" in free agency and would rather building through the draft.
“We’ve got good players out of free agency, and we’ve been successful,” Ballard said on the podcast. “We’re just not the biggest fans of right out the gate free agency where you’re paying B players A-plus money, which is gonna affect down the line. . . . There’s a cost to that.”
Chris Ballard's mindset according to ESPN:
Ballard is an open minded person; possibly more so than ever before.
His main two is communication and continuity with the head coach.
"My vision for the Colts is simple, we are going to work together as an organization to build a winning culture that is competing for championships year in and year out," Ballard said. "That's easier said than done, and it's going to take a lot of hard work by everybody. Everyone will have to understand that we are all a part of something bigger than ourselves and that every decision we make will be in the best interest of the horseshoe."
"It will never be about one person; it will take all of us to come together as one. We will set high standards throughout the organization and make sure that winning becomes our edge. This has to happen at every level of the organization and we have to make sure that we have an organization full of team-oriented problem solvers to get this done."
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now, for the fun part. Again, this is all hypothetical and none of thing should be taken as true facts. This is all speculation and lots of assuming.
Quarterbacks that had been linked to Ballard in the past whether through media, rumors, beat writers, word of mouth, etc.
- Patrick Mahomes (Ballard was accredited along with John Dorsey and Brett Veach for scouting Mahomes during the initial hiring process.)
- Justin Herbert (Linked to Ballard through media and possible word of mouth from Ballard)
- Justin Fields (Ballard himself appraised Fields on the 1075 the Fan radio a couple of years back. He really liked Fields.)
- Jordan Love (Linked to Ballard through media, rumors and word of mouth. There was belief around the league Ballard was going to draft Love in the 2nd rd. and was in the mix to trade up. Packers got wind of this and was willing to pay more to trade up to jumped the Colts.)
Notice that all these QBs were taken in the first rounds. Excluding Mahomes, Ballard had the chance of drafting Herbert, Fields, or Love. So you must be asking. Why didn't he go ahead and draft any one of those three QBs? Lets think back to Ballard's mindset. He values communication and a loving partnership with the head coach. Ballard adored Frank and would try his best to accommodate Frank's wishes. Frank wanted his guys. He want Phillip Rivers. Frank pounded the table for Carson Wentz. Ballard, who fully trusted Frank, went out and got those guys for him.
So what is Ballard track record on high value QBs? He is nearly impeccable going 3/4. Love is still TBD, but if he hits, that'll mean Ballard would be spotless going 4/4. That's an undefeated record.
Now, we fast forward to present day. Ballard is sitting alone in his office brooding over his past "what ifs" scenarios. He is talking to himself.
"Man, if I would have just followed my gut instincts maybe Frank would still be here. Maybe I should have traded up to get Herbert or Fields. If only.."
---------------------
Now this is what you all have been waiting for. What happen behind closed doors? Why didn't the Colts trade up with the Bears to get the #1 pick? Here is the all exclusive access.
With all this in mind, now lets head to the most recent exchange between Ballard and Shane Steichen.
"
Ballard: Hey, Shane. I'm glad you could come in here at 9:30 pm for an impromptu meeting.
Steichen: No problem, Chris. It must be important if your calling me in at this time. You know I'm always available and ready to talk ball at any time everyday, every minute, 365 days a year.
Ballard: I love it! Lets get straight to business. So I've been in contact with Chicago on the possibility of trading up.
Steichen: Oh wow, we really doing it?
Ballard: Look, Shane I really value you and the coaching staff. I will get you whatever you need. I will do it if you and rest of the coaching staff really believe there's a guy that's worth it. But, my gut instincts is telling me we can still get "The Guy" staying at 4. You remember I went over my track record during our interview process with you. I've taken Herbert, Fields, or Love if maybe I'd push a little harder against Frank. I want us to be successful and I'll always include you and the coaching staff on any decisions I make. But, I really think there'll be a guy there at 4 for us who is going to be special.
Steichen: I really appreciate that Chris. Listen, I wouldn't be here at all if it wasn't for you, Mr. Irsay, and the entire Colts organization. I have complete 100% confidence in myself and the staff here that we can coach any player we get to their fullest potential. I can work with anyone and will tailor the offense toward that player's skillset. I trust you Chris. If you truly believe we can still get "The Guy" at 4, I'm all aboard with whatever you are thinking.
Ballard: Thanks Shane. Thank you for trusting me. I promise you I won't let you down. We'll get our guy."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To wrapped it all up: What should Colts Nation do now? Be optimistic. Hope that all the QBs(Levis, Stroud, Richardson, Young) ball out on their Pro Days. To summed it all into three words.
