2023.03.30 07:24 DrawerEvening8192 Accounting Question.. where do I start??

I’m treasurer for my organization and I’m supposed to hire someone to basically check that I didn’t steal anything by comparing the ledger (google sheets) to our bank statements.
What kind of service is this called? Where do I find people to do it? (Freelance ideally)
I tried asking companies about audits, but what they described either doesn’t match or requires us to be using quickbooks.

2023.03.30 07:24 Elegant-Progress-758 Chinese Transnational Policing Gone Wild Safeguard Defenders 110 Overseas#SafeguardDefenders

110 Overseas :The last decade has witnessed the rapid spread of telecom and online fraud globally, which seriously infringes on people's legitimate rights and interests, becoming a prominent crime and a public hazard. To address this problem, the Chinese police have been committed to intensifying their efforts in the combat against and control of such crimes, and strengthening international law enforcement cooperation, which has enabled them to accumulate successful experience, build up best practices and set examples for their counterparts around the world. 110 Overseas.pdf. false information :230,000 Chinese "persuaded to return" from abroad, China to establish Extraterritoriality-Safeguard Defenders Upholding the people-centered principle, the Communist Party of China and the Chinese government have attached great importance to countering telecom and online fraud. Equal importance has been given to both combat and control. An efficient multi-department collaborative working mechanism has been established, and the Anti-telecom and Online Fraud Law has been formulated and enacted, which provides a strong legal foundation. Targeting the characteristics of such crimes, the Chinese police have conducted specialized study and research, set up specialized task forces, initiated specialized investigation against major cases and utilized specialized techniques. Safeguard Defenders The Chinese police have synchronized their efforts both internally and externally, and launched a series of campaigns and operations, effectively curbing the high momentum of these crimes, retrieving a large number of economic losses, and winning wide recognition from the public and the international community. During their international law enforcement engagements, the Chinese police frequently received requests from their counterparts to share their experience and effective practices in this field. Safeguard Defenders Telecom and online fraud is a typical transnational organized crime. Fraud dens are often located across countries and regions, targeting vulnerable individuals and groups regardless of their nationalities. Safeguard Defenders The Chinese police, through international law enforcement cooperation, have joined hands with their international counterparts to carry out operations and achieved significant results. Operation Great Wall, jointly launched with the Spanish police in 2019, has become a successful example of transnational law enforcement cooperation. Safeguard Defenders From March to June this year, China, together with 76 INTERPOL member states, jointly participated in the anti-fraud Operation First Light initiated by INTERPOL, which destroyed 1,770 fraud dens in as many countries, arrested over 2,000 suspects and intercepted more than US$50 million in illicit funds. It was also found that some Chinese citizens were involved in fraud activities abroad, and the majority of them were tempted by the promise of high payments, cheated and coerced into being smuggled abroad, and some of them were kidnapped and detained illegally, and a few of them were even beaten and abused to death in the criminal dens. Safeguard Defenders The Chinese police, together with relevant departments, have actively carried out rescue and education, and encouraged them to return home through international law enforcement cooperation, and made every effort to provide assistance and employment. The immigration authorities, in accordance with the provisions of the Exit and Entry Administration Law, have taken necessary measures such as restricting the exit of persons engaged in telecom and online fraud. Safeguard Defenders According to an officer with the Ministry of Public Security, the criminality of telecom and online fraud is characterized by its specialization, industrialization and being increasingly organized and transnational, amid the rapid development of global digitalization. As an emerging new-type crime, it is a very difficult problem for governments of various countries to tackle and control, and thus it has become one of the major challenges facing police forces across the world. Joining hands in combating this newly developed fraud is the shared responsibility of the police of all countries and also the unanimous consensus of the international community. Safeguard Defenders Public security agencies across China are determined to earnestly enforce the Law of Anti-telecom and Online Fraud through strengthened cooperation with their international counterparts and reinforced domestic efforts in fighting the crime, so as to prevent it from further spreading, and to bringing the fraudsters at large to justice.

2023.03.30 07:23 Cute_Raspberry181 What visa can we get

Hello everyone, me and my partner are in a relationship for nearly a year now. I live in the UK and I have a settled status, so I have the right to work and live in the UK. I've been here for 10 years. My partner is a EU citizen who works and lives in Germany and we want to move in together in the UK. We've done some research and we are very confused about what kind of a visa are we eligible for. We want to marry but we don't want to marry for the sake of a visa or settled status. Does anyone know what we can do? Thanks

2023.03.30 07:21 Wreck-It-Willy Help with Workcover Psychiatric Injury - cannabis

Hi All,
My name is Will, Australian citizen, lived in Victoria for 23 years, I'm 38 years old, father of four and a loving husband. Never been in trouble with the law, worked hard all my life in I.T (Dev Ops, Network Security) post my workplace injury.
In Nov 2018 I was put on workcover after a long bullying campaign and diagnosed with multiple psychiatric injuries as follows, PTSD, Depression, Severe social anxiety and High anxiety. I suffer paralysis inducing night terrors, loss of cognitive and verbal ability and numerous other health issues as a result of my workplace injuries. Workplace/workcover admit fault and accept that it was caused by my workplace. I have been subscribed a long list of medication, Mirtazapine, Sertraline, Zopiclone, Melatonin, Diazepam, but none of which worked for me and only made my conditions worse.
In around 2020 after reading a lot of research myself, I got and paid 100% myself with the help of Dr Soroush Habibi at Pro Wellness for TGA approval for access to medical cannabis for the treatment of PTSD (yellow spectrum oil then blue spectrum oil later as it worked wonders for myself, I need high doses of THC). I am thousands of dollars out of pocket for my access and the medication.
I have been working with Maurice Blackburn from the start in trying to get the help and support I need, but they are not over helpful with regard to anything to do with access to medical cannabis. The insurer which was Xchanging but is now Gallagher Bassett have reimbursed me for consultations in the past with Dr Soroush Habibi at Pro Wellness but nothing more, not for the cost of TGA approval or any medication I was prescribed from him.
Currently, I have just had my last IME with the report coming back as, "The WorkCover Insurer assessed your level of impairment at 20% pursuant to the Guides to the Evaluation of Psychiatric Injury for Clinicians (GEPIC) in regard to your psychological injury....."
I am currently only on Diazepam/Valium, which I have become highly addicted to and now using higher and higher doses, as it the only drug available to myself that calms me and lets me sleep.
After speaking with my lawyers yesterday we are going for one final dispute, they are under the opinion that I will not hit the very high 30% impairment level required to take further action. I did ask about access to medical cannabis again as it has been rejected by Xchanging and Gallagher Bassett in the past. I received an email from Gallagher Bassett in the last few days stating they are still going to be covering any reasonable medical costs related to my workplace injuries. So I raised it again with Maurice Blackburn. I was told they can only push/fight for reimbursement and access to medical cannabis to be paid by the insurer if I can provide something new to present them with, new research that medical cannabis will be an effective and safe method of treatment.
Today I got another reply from my lawyers as follows, Hi Will, There is no timeframe in which you can ask the insurer to fund the treatment or provide further information. My advice is that it will be difficult to convince the insurer to fund the treatment, and you will likely end up back at the Medical Panel. To strengthen your prospects of winning at the Panel, I have recommended that you obtain additional information to support your need for the medication. In the event that you request funding for the treatment, and this is rejected, I can refer you to our internal disputes team who will be able to assist you through the dispute.
This is where I need help, my wife (a primary school teacher) is 6+ weeks into a serous back injury of which she may need surgery, I have one teenage child living at home and work as a causal farm hand as my conditions do not allow me to work in an office environment, it is looking like I'm going to have to sell my house as my wife is now using her long service leave that won't last much longer.
I need advice on what I can provide/present them with, new research that medical cannabis will be an effective and safe method of treatment for my condition. The workcover system is broken and abused by so-called "Medical Professional". I hope I may be able to help change the system so anyone else in my position in the future does not have to have their conditions worsened due to the stress involved in dealing with them, and can access the legal medication they require.
I have emailed this to the following but awaiting a reply form them,

Sincerely and desperately grateful for any help,

2023.03.30 07:21 nuubmaster699 Do you have to declare bank interest on self assessment?

The end of another tax year is nigh! I am employed and a sole trader and when filing my SATR have always spotted “interest earned”. This is the first year I’ve used a savings account, rather than ISA.
I’m definitely under the £1k threshold before tax is due, but is it necessary to declare how much interest I have accumulated? The banks inform HMRC anyway, so it seems redundant.

2023.03.30 07:17 Strong_Economics2831 Amazon Pay Later not taking responsibility for the inaction of their lending bank

Last year I happened to sign up for Amazon Pay Later, it’s my fault I didn’t check the fine print of how it’ll open up two consumer loans in my name for Rs. 10,000. Amazon has a lending partner - Axio Capital (20% lending), which has in turn partnered with Karur Vysya Bank (80% lending), it is the most fucking incompetent bank in this country. The pending mechanism in itself looks fishy to me, why tf does a primary lending partner only be responsible for 20% of the loan?
As soon as I see the loans on my credit report I realise what has happened and approach them to close the accounts, I haven’t used a single penny. I’m told they’ve closed their account but I need to contact Karur Vysya Bank and close the other loan worth 8,000. Long story short, I’ve at least spoken to 10 people at Karur Vysya Bank since November and despite submitting the NOC, they’ve not closed my account. I contact Amazon and the most assholic customer care executive I’ve spoken to says they can’t take any action. It makes me furious.
Question for the community- I want to know the best way to force the bank to close my account. I’ve tried all the pleading and crying, I’ve lost the patience now.

2023.03.30 07:17 nunatak16 6 day loop in the WP Fold

The Fold (or Reef further north) is a very long wrinkle in the earth in Utah. Steep, rugged and remote this loop is centered around the southern end of the Fold with weird domes and spires on the east side and dramatic sandstone canyons cutting into the long sloping west side.
The route focused on climbing the two high points in the area in addition to linking a series of hard to get in and out of canyons, all while doing a big loop.
On the 70 mile route we found no maintained trails but did follow a game path for an hour or so on day 4. We saw no one else, despite this is the busy hiking season in the canyons.
Driving the last two hours to our east side start we encountered only four vehicles, a couple of which were a tow truck pulling out a wanna-be overlander. As Brian like to say when bouncing us across some remote mesa in his beat up Ford Exploder: “Overlanding? It’s called car camping. Been doing it forever“.
The trailhead was decided for us when the road ahead suddenly was completely washed out by a flash flood from the day before. We loaded our packs and soon descended steeply into the significant crevice of HC Canyon before the 2000’ climb to a divide in the Fold. Eventually down in the canyons on the other side things got complex.
Several days later we again emerged on top of the Fold but much farther north. After a day and a half traversing the lofty spine we picked our way down a remote part with striking arches and deep pools to finish off.
Planned with GE and Caltopo the route pays homage the great Steve Allen by linking parts of three of his adventures with some home brewed lines on the map.
The difficulty felt moderate; YMMV. We have a good amount of experience with one mile-an-hour terrain on the Plateau. Hauling and lowering packs is second nature and a willingness to solo fourth class with exposure is often just a deep breath away. The main challenge on this one is dead accurate navigation and constant focus while off trail’ing for 10 hours a day. Going solo would have been outside my comfort zone due to remoteness and lack of help with the dog, because, as Charlie Brown knows well: If my dog can't go - I'm not going.
Hardest isolated moves was the exit of F Canyon via a steep fifth class wall above slippery Moqui steps. The longest rope assisted obstacle was 70’ tall and a day earlier.
My dog took it all in stride, so maybe it all wasn’t so bad.
Water is always a serious planning concern on the Plateau. This trip was sketched out years ago and laid dormant on my computer waiting for the conditions that came together this late March: a couple of big spring storms covered the area with flash floods followed by an unseasonably cold high pressure: potholes and canyon bottoms got filled with water before we arrived and highs in the low forties kept it there for the entire trip. There was snow in the deep shade of the incredible mile long ledge walk 800’ above GC Canyon.
Our TPW was around thirty pounds. That included newly built framed packs for testing, 80’ of 6mm rope, a brick of a film camera and some real coffee brewing luxuries boosted by a sack of heavy cream powder.
While we shared a 9x9 mid between three six foot plus guys and a dog, each of us did bring a white gas kitchen and the delicious food choices were individually packed, but carefully traded. To see us thru the cold evenings we took turns making pots of Mormon tea with raisins. All these core-warming hot drinks and elaborate dinners consumed a whopping 20 ounces of fuel per person.
Pro Bars and Lenny & Larry Complete cookies, in addition to salami, cheese, Fritos and torts completed the picture.
We used aqua mira as the silty post flood water would have killed a filter immediately. Cooking water needed no treating.
In packing our layers all us under estimated the wind and day-time biting cold, especially the conditions on top of the Fold. We even got hit with a couple of squally snow storms on the day long traverse from Cliff to Hall.
Lows hit the teens despite keeping all camps out of the deep canyon bottoms with their notorious pooling of cold air. Sharing a well sealed tent, wearing pretty much everything and eating a solid high fat diet gave us reasonable comfort with our non-quilts, aka sleeping bags, rated in the high twenties.
Phone/GPS navigation in this sort of complex terrain was indispensable. I loaded all phones with the route on 7.5 quads plus springs and known pothole waypoints. I also added pics of the appropriate pages from Allen’s book. We had three big power banks and spare charging cables, plus the redundancy of two capable apps with different map sets: iHike and MapOut. No single paper map covered the whole route so we didn’t bring any; also no one owned an emergency satellite beacon.

2023.03.30 07:17 RoseAtelier I have thought it all through. I’m leaving him for the final time for real

These past few days I have been a mess.
I lived in fairytale land for a little while thinking when Mm moves over seas alone for first few months that I can visit him whenever . But I just clicked after the best holiday with him that his family will move soon and his wife accesses his EVERYTHING from has all his passwords, full access to his phone, controls all his cards, bank accounts and EVERYTHING ~ he will still b on that leash starting over with his family.
I want to die to be honest. And I refused to admit to anyone incl this forum that he wasn’t choosing me. D-day in Dec 2022 meant he was so much more careful, in a tighter leash but he still went out of his way to see me and make me happy. Jan 2023 I wanted to end it because I was furious at the differences since d day , and how he wanted to “freeze” our relationship until she’s not suspicious and I felt like he only came to me when convenient. That’s when he said he would plan to get a divorce but wait a little because of legal issues (legit) and he can’t divorce cuz of $ and business. I broke down one day and told him the reason I wanted to leave was because if I didn’t, he would first. He told me he wasn’t going anywhere and would never break up with me. The latter is true.
2 months later to March. HE LEFT! He literally upped and left! Even tho the situation is out of his control (legal issues), he still left and I KNEW a situation like this would happen where he would just leave me and I would be the one left behind. I was positive and convinced myself it’s good for us because he can start over overseas , work and find me later and I can visit him more. Last week, I was overseas with him and I was so happy, positive, full of hope until my friend reminded me that his family is moving soon. And after our next trip, we won’t see each other for a long time
But I realise it’s not like that. His whole family r selling their properties and moving to him soon. He was never getting a divorce . He told me he couldn’t because he can’t start over at his age but now a situation out of his control came up, he IS starting over overseas , but just not with me. He said he was never leaving but he’s gone. We are still meeting soon and wants fo work out how we can work but I don’t want to work it out as a side chick anymore . I want to leave. And tell him just because I say to end it, it’s him who made the choice and I’m only the voice.
He asked me last year if I thought about worst case scenarios. I said yes but didn’t say what. For our situation, d-day and him moving , ditching me was the worst case scenario for me while I was full of love and chose to believe him. For making me feel like nothing and seeing the reality. I wanted to leave before this worst case scenario day hits so I am not as depressed as I am now. I’m living it everyday now.
I’m seeing him next week overseas. I was so looking forward to another happy time but this will be our last for minimum 4+ years. I will beg him to block me or I will block him. Unless he divorces before I’m married. I will ask for no contact at all until I move on, I marry, I am settled. I can’t keep living like this anymore. Neve able to concentrate because of how much I think of him. I hate him. But I love him so much
Ps: I love him and everything about him. It’s the situation that’s wrong but he was caring and genuine.

Loving Cup - Excellent second-set-opening version.
Tweezer - Page leads the jam for awhile!
Weekapaug Groove - Great jam with an unusual rhythmic and swinging vibe gradually diminishes, then -> to the debut of "Psycho Killer" before -> back to "Weekapaug."
Psycho Killer - -> in from "Weekapaug." Debut of this Talking Heads classic is sandwiched in a strong "Weekapaug." -> back to "Weekapaug."

When trying to check crafting and choose use own materials I get this error:

This has been going on for a good few weeks now and originally I thought it was because of the overall API issues but those seem to have been resolved and I saw a comment at the gw2 sub saying the status errors on the current page are actually not accurate and things should be fine but still having this issue. 2023.03.30 07:15 Antique-Brother3361 Something about Taurus ♉

I don't like when people say that the nature of Taurus is to be lazy, I mean, not for everyone.
•Taurus people sometimes have to carry a lot of weight that doesn't even belong o them and that's because people see them as strong and resilient as they are and then think is okay to overwork them and that results in a lot tiredness.
•Also, Taurus not only represents the stereotype of “omg, they eat a lot and sleep, so boring!“. The axis of fixed sings can be interpreted as what nurtures life (Taurus) and what ends life (Scorpio, also rebirth)... that's super awesome!
•Taurus rules over banks and money. Be honest, banks aren't rainbows and unicorns, banks and money can be a horrible and corrupted thing and it's ruled by our dear Taurus and when something bad happen to Taurus y'all start losing banks accounts and the bank system gets f'cked up and no one's likes that.
•Taurus also represents music, the mother f*cker art of sing, the sound, the voice.
•Taurus is sexuality trough sensuality, I mean be prepared for the transit of Jupiter through the North Node, y'all are going to feel pretty horny I promise.
•All (earthly) beautiful things are ruled by TAURUS, period.
And that's it.

2023.03.30 07:15 KingWussy28 I need some help with finding good and proper equipment for a small off-grid solar setup.

I am planning on buying equipment for a very small, off-grid solar panel system. I will be getting a 12volt, 30 watt solar panel that comes with a PWM controller (unknown amperage rating) and wiring.(Getting it free from Temu, which is why I am planning) (1pc 12 Volt Solar Panel Solar Trickle Charger Portable Solar Battery Charger Maintainer With Lighter Plug Alligator Clip - Patio, Lawn & Garden - Temu) (Not a referral link. Only a link to the aforementioned product)
I know that I need a battery (to store power) (estimated 6 peak sun hours) and a power inverter (to convert to 120 volts) but I am still confused as to what exactly to buy. Due to budget constraints and safety concerns, I chose a 12volt, 15Ah lithium battery ( OGRPHY 12V 15Ah LiFePO4 Battery, 192Wh Grade A Cells Lithium Battery with BMS, Up to 5000+ Deep Cycles Battery for Fish Finder, Kids Scooter, Security System : Automotive) and a 200 watt 12V to 120V power inverter ( 200W Car Power Inverter 12V DC to 110V AC Converter with 3.1 A Dual USB Quick Car Charger Adapter : Automotive). I am not sure if this battery or even the inverter is okay for solar panel operation, so please help me with this (kind of guessing at this point). Genuinely confused with all the amps, watts, and volt conversions, and also power loss calculations.
I don't plan on using high wattage equipment, mostly my laptop charger, and phone charger. Maybe my power banks (20,000mAh for portable phone charging) too. (No desktop computer, screen monitor, hair dryer, space heater, fridge, freezer, or microwave).
This is equipment planning. Solar panel placement isn't really one of my concerns right now, but help with the angles (solar panel tilt) and the wiring is much appreciated.
Please help, and thanks again!🥦🌴🌵

2023.03.30 07:13 x_franki_berri_x Do you think it’s wrong/hypocritical to punish your child for something you did at their age?

I was having this discussion with a friend of mine last night who’s 14 year old son stole her bank card, gave it to an older kid and used it to buy cigarettes. She was saying how angry she was but she can’t really say anything. I asked her why and she said because she tried cigarettes at that age.
I said we never stole to buy them plus just because she did something wrong doesn’t mean she should allow her kids to do the same. She’s in her late 30s like me and despite quitting smoking a few years ago she still has terrible lungs due to smoking for so long and more importantly starting when her lungs weren’t fully developed. I said she’s well within her right to both punish her son and try and educate him.
I played truant a bit in year 10/11 at school but you’d best believe if my boys truant from school when they are older then I will punish them.

2023.03.30 07:11 Nolinikki First-time interested home buyer and I have literally no idea where to start

Me and my family are looking to buy a home in the future (ideally later this year), but I have no idea how to even start or who to talk to (or what kind of lender to use - my bank has generally had poor interest rates).
We have a combined income of ~160k, and enough savings to put down an alright down payment on a house. We also have relatively low debt (Almost paid off the car and my remaining college loan is only around 10k). The area we're interested in is pretty close to our current apartment and the houses we were looking at are in the 300-500k range. But I don't actually know where to start, or what to avoid. We've been using Zillow to price things out.
So, questions:
  1. What is a good down payment? Is 10% good, or 20%? Or is it really more 'whatever you can afford'?
  2. How do I find good lenders? My bank is wells fargo, and their offer for my car loan was terrible. Should I find a local credit union, or is there some source for house loans superior to shopping around banks? My credit score is good, around 740.
  3. Some of my friends have gotten absolutely fucked by homes that looked good but turned out to have terrible issues that weren't discovered until after the purchase. What's the best way to avoid that? Is it just 'get an inspection done' or is there more to it?
  4. What do I use to find homes? Zillow? Other websites? Realtors?
  5. What does the haggling process look like? Or is that even a thing today?
  6. How much should I set aside for 'extra expenses'? Inspections and such? What happens if a sale doesn't go through because of a failed inspection or similar?
  7. What am I forgetting? What are the pitfalls I need to avoid?
Thanks for any help y'all can give, and I'm happy to read any resources y'all can offer.

2023.03.30 07:09 HeftyHighway5917 HELP I need help with my gambling addiction

I haven’t told anyone, because honestly, I didn’t even want to admit it to myself let alone anyone else, but I think it’s gotten to the point that if I don’t get help, I’m going to fall into a hole I can’t get out of.
I started gambling last year after some things happened in my personal life that threw me for a loop. At first, it was just putting $20 into the pokies here and there or placing a few bets on sports bets, but over time it got more and more frequent. It soon stopped being a way to kill time and take my mind off things, turning into something I feel no control over. In the last month, I’ve lost thousands of dollars and many hours at the pubs. It even got to the point where I started alternating which ones I go to because I’m so embarrassed that someone will recognise me as coming in all the time.
Aside from my bank account, it's also affecting my personal life and relationships too. I’m way more on edge than I used to be. I hardly see my friends. I’m sad because i feel like I’m sneaking around. I feel like there is no one i can talk to.
It's been a struggle for me to come to terms with it, but I am starting to recognise it’s a problem and I don't want to keep going down this path. I need help, i can’t live like this anymore.
Please help.

2023.03.30 07:07 CrossfireLooool I’m getting $300 in cash tomorrow. I’m a student, and nervous that it might get stolen.

Hi all, as the title says. I’m getting $300. I helped my dad over the weekend and he decided to reward my labor for $300.
He lives far but we’ve agreed on a time in which he can drop it off before work. And that’s the time I usually leave for school. I don’t have a bank account or can’t trust anybody to hold my money, so I’m gonna have to bring $300 to school. My schools not bad but the students would definitely ask or steal if they saw how much I had.
How do I keep $300 hidden throughout the day? I’m trying to open a bank account but my mother refuses to. She’s offered to hold my money for me, but like I said, I can’t trust her with that money. Because of personal reasons.

2023.03.30 07:07 emiriiii 3 weeks left (4/15), how to study?

To my fellow 4/15 takers, how are y’all studying for the next 3 weeks? I feel so exhausted and dread studying everyday, but I know 3 weeks is a lot of time to get in some more studying. I’m taking a FL every weekend, reviewing, and doing some practice questions, but I don’t feel like i’m being very productive. I have a lot of Uworld questions left, and finished the AAMC section bank. Should I redo the section bank or do Uworld? How are y’all studying during this home stretch? Advice needed :)

2023.03.30 07:07 realEvaaaaaa Apartment Recommendations for New Grad Student?

Hi, I am an incoming PhD student in 23 Fall. I have just started looking for apartments near the university city. I mainly searched through and zillow but I found out many "luxury" apartments(left bank, 3737 chestnut, etc) are quite expensive considering my stipend (about 3k/month after tax). So I am wondering if there are options that are affordable(under 1200/month for a studio/1bed or 2400/month for a 2B2B) near the campus? My non-negotiables are: safe street(there could be evening classes; just want to ensure I could walk back home safely at around 9 pm), less than 30 min walk to the campus(I don't have a car), central AC. Also any recommendations for good leasing companies? I have heard of University City Housing and I am curious about the experiences working with them. Thanks!
