2023.06.04 00:27 izukaneki [Jujutsu Kaisen] People still want Yuta to be the MC?
I understand that Yuji hasn't felt like the protagonist in a while. I also get that every single time a shounen brings up a character with any writing potential at all, all of a sudden everyone wants them to have actually been the MC all along (I call this Rock Lee syndrome, but that's a rant for another day). That said, the fixation with Yuta has always felt kinda weird, especially post-culling games, because I genuinely do not believe that there has ever been a character who the author fully believes that their arc is over and done with than Yuta Okkotsu.
He had a good run with 0, where he completed his character development, and every subsequent appearance has just driven home how little there is to do with this guy. There was a hint of promise when he agrees to hunt Itadori, but it was immediately dashed when they reveal that "nah, he's actually cool with him, Gojo fan #1". Since then, he's been the most bland shell in a manga that specializes in that field. He gets one fight, from which all the hype was just that we finally get to see what new powers he has, as well as a domain expansion that we don't get to see. He doesn't react to anything, he isn't an active part of the story, he doesn't have to grow or change because he already did that, so all that's left is for him to be dead weight on a manga that's full to the brim with dead weight.
Even though it was a drag to figure out what Hakari's power was and how it worked, the Kashimo fight was still exciting because both characters are high energy and fun to read, so it allowed for a hype reading weekly. But because Yuta has to stay cool and stoic throughout, we get a weak fight where all the energy is carried by a villain-of-the-week who was so irrelevant, he died soon after the fight just to powerscale Sukuna. It would have been better if he never showed up again and then pulled up for the final battle, because other than that he's just taking up panel time that could have been used for actual character intera- ah who am I kidding, it's JJK we're talking about.

Just thought I'd warn people of the Amway pyramid (the biggest MLM pyramid scheme) that I came across in IF,as I almost fell for their trap as they had my attention when they said passive income only to mention amway the second meeting. And I was like NOPE and got out of there. This is a bit long post but here's my short experience with an amway recruiter and the research I found when looking up amway and peoples experiences according to Reddit.
My main reason for warning people is Multi level marketing prey young people or on those that are vulnerable and i was an easy target to as I had high hopes of a a passive income since I have a disability only to be disappointed.
You either come across these people at public places like grocery stores who will strike up a conversation with you or by Friends or family who they already roped in
They claim hardly any money is need to get started and tout it as your very own passive income business that you can do at your own pace whenever you have time and that you can even keep your job at the same time.to entice you they mention it includes a business education and a welcoming community of like minded people. Which may be true but I didn't bother getting that far.
I'll do my best to explain the amway concept that being you either recruit friends, family or, stranger to join you or you sell amway products to those people which you get a commission from. They preferably want you to recruit people who will then also recruit others all while selling the same wide range of products.you the whole time will be getting a commission from all of it. and the people above you will also get a commission from what you make as well. If I didn't explain it well a quick Google search will hopefully clear this up or just looking at a picture of the Amway structure.
They call it network marketing which is the same as multi level marketing. It's essentially a legal pyramid scheme. As I mentioned they said really not much money is needed to start which is semi true in the beginning with The basic starting pack is $100 and then there's the monthly fee for the online educational membership portal with videos. But the longer you stay there the more money you will need to spend most importantly the stock you must buy from amway of the products you plan to sell. Now I didn't get far enough to the point I spent money with them.
but before I ultimately made my decision I did look into the cost acociated with pursuing this and came across the amway Reddit where people post their experience and how they regret spending thousands on pursuing amway. Which includes product stock monthly membership,podcasts,books, seminars you travel to, conventions every couple of months and the gas you spend to attend meetings multiple times a month. and one guy spent 13k to find the post All you have to do is search Google type in "Amway expenses redit" people break down how much they spent with really nothing to show for it other than they are out of money.
Also there's an 1979 ftc rulling that Amway isn't an illegal pyramid scheme but it's still a pyramid scheme even if it's considered legal. Also the statistics don't lie 99% of people loose money from MLMs according to a 2011 ftc report Consumer Awareness Institute The Case (for and) against Multi-level Marketing By Jon M. Taylor, MBA, Ph.D. And other statistics you can find with a quick Google search Only 25% are successful make money And the 2021 Amway official income disclosures show most make less than you make if you worked at McDonald's Then there are also the different tiers of amway.

I recently came back to GW2 after playing for a little bit a few years ago. I've made a fresh account with the intent of not spending money outside of the expansions (I find more enjoyment doing so).
The biggest question I have is: what order should I do everything?
I want to be efficient and get to a point where I can earn gold quickly for essential gem store items and possibly the living stories. I don't have excessive amounts of time to play either.
I have ADHD and struggle to keep focus which can lead to me spending way too long in a map and getting distracted easily.
If anyone could help me create a 'to do next' kind of list, such as core story, map completion, ascended gear, fractals, raids etc, that would be great. Thank you.

I (20F) currently have 2 friends (22 and 27). These are friends that I met while we were all working together at a grocery store years ago. All in all, I would say that we are all very antisocial outside of talking to each other. Personally, I talk to people that I currently work with all the time, and as a part of my job, I am around clients constantly. I converse easily with these people, and have been told that people love my "outgoing nature" and "bubbly personality". Unfortunately, though, these conversations are all surface level, and are often more focused on the other person in the conversation.
In my life outside of work, I have very few interests or hobbies. I spend a majority of my time when I'm not working playing video games and talking to these said friends via Playstation Parties (voice chat). This is the case for them as well, however they have deeper interests in the games they are playing and things outside of video games in general. For example, the one friend (22) is VERY interested in reading, history, and the lore of the video games they play. I've never been able to find myself half as interested in anything of substance as they are in little mundane stuff. They have been going to school out of the city for 3 years now, but have no interest in meeting people, stays in their dorm, and moves back home for the summer.
This summer, they have gone back to work at the grocery store that we used to all work at. They have been there for a few weeks. This is important for later.
I have always know that I am not a super interesting person, but as of late, they have been saying that they are getting sick of carrying conversation between the three of us and always being the first person to have to speak. If they're not speaking, things generally get quiet and boring. I used to deny this fact, but recently, I've been seeing it as well.
There are a couple coworkers at this job that they have recently started talking to. One of them, they rave about how funny he is and seem to generally have a lot of fun talking to him. The other is someone who seems to be a mirror image of them, with all of the exact same interests from games to music to reading.
1 can tell that they really like these people, and they are becoming quite close to them. Some of our conversations revolve around things that these people have said that made them laugh, or talks that they've had about shared interests with them, and stuff like that.
I'm feeling replaced, and I know it stems from a place of jealousy, but it also just feels like I'II never stack up to these people in their eyes regardless of the fact that we've been best friends for years and they met them 2 weeks ago. It's almost like seeing these people has turned their eye to the fact that I'm not really worth much of anything as a friend.
I want to be on that level with them, I really do, but I just feel like the more I think about this, the harder it gets to have conversations. They seem bored with things that would've otherwise peaked their interest when it comes to what I'm saying or doing, and it just seems like now that they've seen the type of people they could be friends with, I'm fading more and more into the background. I want to know how I can be more interesting to them.
How can I start meaningful conversations, and make them feel like I'm right there with them the same way these new friends are?
TL;DR: My best friend has been making new, more interesting friends, and I want to be able to be seen as fun and entertaining again. How?

The date was planned 2 weeks before and all Jason would say to Emily and Andrew was that he couldnāt wait to spoil me and take me somewhere nice but since I was nervous the four of us decided that it should be a double date. I suggested we could go to the mall so that it wouldnāt be too expensive and Emily suggested that me and Jason could split off from her and Andrew once I was more comfortable with Jason.
The day before the date came and I got nervous and had a gut feeling something was going to go wrong. Jason found my instagram and messaged me and we talked a bit so both of us were less tense for the date the next day. I think I should have decided not to go on the date anymore once he turned talking about a DC tv show into talking about his dead pet within the same text. The day of the date came and I was telling Emily how I was nervous and all I was being told was how I was overreacting. I had found out that day that Emily had never even met Jason irl which only made me more nervous since she really had no idea what this guy was like in person but had told me how great he was. I tried to explain to her that talking over the phone is nothing like interactions in person but she brushed me off.
Andrew and Jason got to Emilyās house to pick us up and I sat in the front with Emily who drove us all to the mall. My mom texted me so as I was looking at my phone Jason made a comment about how he never looks at his phone while in the car because itās ārude to the other people in the carā so I put my phone away. He took his out 5 minutes later and started looking at memes. The only one he showed me was about putting pop-rock candy in a woman during sex and was rubbing my shoulder.
We got out of the car and after we went to a couple stores and he bought himself jewelry and a WWE funko pop Emily and Andrew decided to go into hot topic. Jason wanted to split off and I agreed to go with him since I felt comfortable enough. This was a bad idea. Jason took me into Spencerās and tried to take me to the back where the adult toys are. I refused and he got annoyed. He asked me if I smoke and I told him I donāt which also seemed to annoy him. We started walking around and I looked in Hot Topic to see if Emily and Andrew were there so we could join them again because I didnāt feel comfortable anymore but they werenāt there.
We went into stores and all he talked about was how he didnāt talk to his siblings, he doesnāt like his parents, his dead pets, and how everyone at his old school didnāt like him. I was lucky if I got 20 words in the whole date. We went into another store and I put on a pair of sunglasses I saw and he decided to put some on too and ask if we could take a picture together. I said yes but as he was talking the picture he pulled me to him so my entire back was pressed against him. (Yes, my butt to his penis.) He took the picture and I moved away. We went to another store and he did the same thing. I tried to move away and take his hand off my waste but he pulled me closer to him. He did this again a third time and I genuinely felt like I was going to throw up. I asked if Emily and Andrew were going to meet up with us and he said they were on their way so I told him we should stay where we were.
They showed up and Andrew and Jason went to the bathroom. Emily asked me how the date was going so I told her I felt uncomfortable and scared and I told her that he was touching me inappropriately. All she said was that heās ājust getting comfortableā and that I was overreacting. Andrew and Jason came back and we went to Red Robin which was in a separate area of the mall. I asked Emily if we could sit with her and Andrew since I was uncomfortable and didnāt want to be at a separate table with Jason and Emily said no. There was a 30 minute wait for the food so as we waited I texted my friend since he knew I was going to be on this date and wanted to make sure I was okay so decided to come to the mall that day too. I told him the situation and he told me to convince them to come to the food court. I asked them all if we could go to the food court and Emily said no but Jason said yes. My only goal in that moment was to get to the food court.
Jason and I went to the food court and I tried to keep distance between me and him as we walked but he wrapped his arm around me and told me to be less nervous. We got to the food court and went over to the Popeyes. As he checked the menu my friend came over and he asked if I was okay. I told him I was scared and he said he was gonna get me out of the situation. He introduced himself to Jason and it was obvious that Jason was mad about my friend talking to us. Jason picked out food for us to eat which I ended up having to pay for since he ran out of money to spend after buying himself stuff all day. My friend texted me to pretend something happened and he would take me home. I spammed my mom to call me and pretend something happened, which she did, and I left and told him he could keep the food and apologized for having to leave. My friend took me home and then my mom took me to Emilyās house so I could get my car to bring home.
After I was starting to feel better after crying for hours I got a text from Jason that said āI hope I didnāt scare you off, I could tell you were nervousā and I immediately blocked him. I reached out to Emily to talk about what happened on the date and when I told her that she brushed off the fact that he was touching me she started to play the victim and say things like āIām so sorry I got you your first date, Iām so awful for that.ā I told her I didnāt blame her for him being rude towards me but what she did still wasnāt okay. She eventually said sorry and after we hung up I started to calm down again.
Andrew called me which he had never done before and when I picked up he merged the call with Emily. He started yelling at me about how I shouldnāt have stood up his friend. I told him what happened and he said that he deserved an apology for dragging himself and his friend and Jason deserved an apology too. Emily texted me āsorryā and stayed quiet. In a quick explanation, I yelled at her boyfriend to go f himself and hung up.
Emily and Andrew tried to explain themselves and apologize but all they were doing was justify their actions.

The thing is, almost everyone around me was agreeing that the AC doesn't work as well as it could in the store I work at: it's not sweltering or anything but the general consensus is that the AC isn't quite powerful enough.

I (20F) currently have 2 friends (22 and 27). These are friends that I met while we were all working together at a grocery store years ago. All in all, I would say that we are all very antisocial outside of talking to each other.
Personally, I talk to people that I currently work with all the time, and as a part of my job, I am around clients constantly. I converse easily with these people, and have been told that people love my āoutgoing natureā and ābubbly personalityā. Unfortunately, though, these conversations are all surface level, and are often more focused on the other person in the conversation.
In my life outside of work, I have very few interests or hobbies. I spend a majority of my time when Iām not working playing video games and talking to these said friends via Playstation Parties (voice chat). This is the case for them as well, however they have deeper interests in the games they are playing and things outside of video games in general. For example, the one friend (22) is VERY interested in reading, history, and the lore of the video games they play. Iāve never been able to find myself half as interested in anything of substance as they are in little mundane stuff. They have been going to school out of the city for 3 years now, but have no interest in meeting people, stays in their dorm, and moves back home for the summer.
This summer, they have gone back to work at the grocery store that we used to all work at. They have been there for a few weeks. This is important for later.
I have always know that I am not a super interesting person, but as of late, they have been saying that they are getting sick of carrying conversation between the three of us and always being the first person to have to speak. If theyāre not speaking, things generally get quiet and boring. I used to deny this fact, but recently, Iāve been seeing it as well.
There are a couple coworkers at this job that they have recently started talking to. One of them, they rave about how funny he is and seem to generally have a lot of fun talking to him. The other is someone who seems to be a mirror image of them, with all of the exact same interests from games to music to reading.
I can tell that they really like these people, and they are becoming quite close to them. Some of our conversations revolve around things that these people have said that made them laugh, or talks that theyāve had about shared interests with them, and stuff like that.
Iām feeling replaced, and I know it stems from a place of jealousy, but it also just feels like Iāll never stack up to these people in their eyes regardless of the fact that weāve been best friends for years and they met them 2 weeks ago. Itās almost like seeing these people has turned their eye to the fact that Iām not really worth much of anything as a friend.
I want to be on that level with them, I really do, but I just feel like the more I think about this, the harder it gets to have conversations. Lyraph pushed the tip of his bone dagger into the ground and pressed his ear against the hilt. The group had nestled itself within a copse of trees near a shieling amongst the hills far from the town. They had spent several days moving up and down the hills until Lyraph cursed one morning.
Gulk watched the man intently, staving off boredom with incessant questions, āWhatās he doing?ā.
Volra was casually tossing a rock up into the air and catching it, āHeās listening to the earth, son of Golthom. Did I not already tell you of our methods for hunting royal foxes?ā.
He gave her an annoyed look. He had been asking questions about everything since leaving the town. Why were naked men banging drums in the roof tops? How many warriors are typically stationed in the battlements? Who were the red clad women in Mourn Stone Street? Volra answered as best she could but soon grew tired of his curiosity and ordered Lyraph to answer for her.
āThose men are the only thing keeping the town together. They ward off evil spirits, or at least thatās the excuse. I merely find them nice to look at. And the warriors? They are usually half that number from what you see these days. Vask Harten had the old chief worried in his final days. When the two men returned, Kiral made the sound of a hawk and Volra and Tarven emerged from the bushes. Kiral was out in the open, hoping to attract either friend or foe, embracing one or ambushing the other. Tarven and Volra hid near the bushes while using Kiral as bait. Volra wordlessly jogged to the ruins, the others following close behind.
They found a portcullis in the side of the fort or rather crumbled part of the wall that circled the ruins. Volra cursed and spit in the grass when inside, āWeāre too few to make use of these walls. We must reach the tower and make our stand there. Pray to your gods if you have any, otherwise we wait for the foes to arriveā.
Tarven grunted, āWe are Strohinites, woman. We pray with other menās blood on our handsā.
She knew he meant to sound fierce but she could not help but feel a smile threaten to touch her lips. She forced her face to stay still as she nodded in acknowledgement and said, āVery well, go on sons of Strohinā.
The group entered the tower, a thin finger coated in the same moss as the walls that entrapped it. The inside was pitch black. A faint light from the roof cut through the dark but only faintly as the source was too far to reach them.
āCanāt see shite, but I can correct thatā, said Gulk as he unslung his ax.
The ax itself was a black blade with purple runes incised into it. He spoke some words in an ancient tongue and the blade grew crops of little dots of blue light soft as pudding. After a second, the dots grew into hand sized orbs and disintegrated only for the blade to grow more and restart the process.
āThe stone from this ax was quarried and shaped by the stoneworkers of Mount Uhag. The best in all of Strohinā, said the warlordās son, pride showing in his words.
Tarven looked at the blade with reverence, as if a god had graced him with their presence. Kiral chuckled and drew her own stone ax and wooden dagger. Lyraph simply nodded and searched about the places touched by the light of the orbs. Volra cleared her scabbard and joined him.
She saw Gulkās disappointed face before she left, clearly he had expected a bigger reaction than indifference. She stopped and said, āThank you for the lightā, then moved on.
The first room in the tower was empty. The air was stuffy as Noseraphās room though trapped for centuries rather than decades. The ground was covered in brown and yellow leaves from the vines that climbed up from the entrance, the iron banded door not strong enough to push back the elements. Every step they took roused up a swarm of dust around their feet. A flood of darkness cringing away from the blue light as Gulk explored the room with the rest of the group. Lyraph called out to him to illuminate the stairs and see if they were safe enough to climb.
āWe can go up, judging from the state of the stairs. They are stone made like the rest of this place. Look here, a small depression in the center of each step. They are worn from the centuries of heavy use andā¦ā, the hunter stopped, indicating the foes were near.
Volra started climbing the stairs and motioned for Lyraph to join her. Together they climbed up three floors and reached the merlons made of bones and skulls. Below, she saw distant red dots filter through the gap. āHow did Lyraph hear them? They were too far away for any human to hear them. Old friend, what are you hiding?ā, she thought.
She drew her bow and took out an arrow. Lyraph may have been the sharper eye but she was the better archer, āCan you count how many of them there are?ā, she asked.
The man nodded and looked at the walls, āThere are twelve. And probably two more from the way the one with the satchel motions at the trees behind herā.
Volra didnāt know what the woman could have in her satchel but drew her bow and stretched it until it reached her cheek then let go when she thought it would kill someone. The woman with the satchel fell to the floor, the arrow having buried itself in her head. Two men ran to her and checked her pulse before running with the rest of their band to the tower. Volra took another arrow and drew her bow.
This time the arrow landed on a manās leg, a scream coming out. The group spread out, making the next two arrows miss and Volra dropped her bow and quiver to draw her sword. Her knuckles grew white from the tightness of her grip.
The duo went down the stairs. The sounds of war cries and howls of pain bounced off the walls of the tower, making them pick up the pace to the source. When they reached the bottom, a woman lay down in a puddle of blood. Tarven clutched at his stomach with one hand, surrounded by the bodies of two men and a woman, obsidian sword dripping blood in the other. They saw Kiral spit out blood as the woman in front of her gave out a blood curdling scream. It took but a moment for Volra to realize that the womanās dominant hand had three fingers missing. All the foes wore crimson cloaks, she noticed. Cloaks ordinarily worn by the women of Mourn Stone Street. Volra steeled herself to fight the rest.

Gulk watched the man intently, staving off boredom with incessant questions, āWhatās he doing?ā.
Volra was casually tossing a rock up into the air and catching it, āHeās listening to the earth, son of Golthom. Did I not already tell you of our methods for hunting royal foxes?ā.
He gave her an annoyed look. He had been asking questions about everything since leaving the town. Why were naked men banging drums in the roof tops? How many warriors are typically stationed in the battlements? Who were the red clad women in Mourn Stone Street? Volra answered as best she could but soon grew tired of his curiosity and ordered Lyraph to answer for her.
āThose men are the only thing keeping the town together. They ward off evil spirits, or at least thatās the excuse. I merely find them nice to look at. And the warriors? They are usually half that number from what you see these days. Vask Harten had the old chief worried in his final days. Mourn Stone Street is a sacred section of the city where women are most easily able to commune with the gods themselves. Itās also where I was conceived, according to my fatherā.
By the time they reached the rolling hills in the third day of the journey, Volra felt something wrong. It was just a feeling, but she had learned to trust such feelings long ago and it has saved her life more than once since then. She ordered Lyraph, who was the expert hunter of the group, to get down the hill they were on and listen to the earth.
That was when he began cursing. He took his dagger back and ran up the hill, āWe have company. 8 or 9 I believe. I have a feeling theyāve been following us for some time now. I suggest we get out of here and find some place defensibleā.
Volra nodded, āAgreedā, she took a moment to think, āWe must move on and bide our time until opportunity presents itself. You and Gulk will run up ahead of us. Thereās an old ruin around here but I canāt remember where. Tarven and I will guard the rear while Kiral watches for your return. We will all move together
Lyraph looked alarmed, āVolra, I would rather have Tarven with me. I donāt trust the man and Gulk seems more reliableā¦ā
āThat wasnāt a suggestionā, she said, putting a little more iron in her voice.
āWhatās gotten into the man? Doesnāt he know Iām the better fighter?ā, she thought. Long ago, they both agreed that he was the better tracker and her the better warrior. She thought that if Tarven put their lives at risk, she would be the one to kill him.
Lyraph and Gulk moved through the sussurating leaves, moving under and over roots looping, arching, emerging from the ground in webs as if tendrils from earth dwelling octopi. The hunter was surprised at the noblemanās grace while moving through the swirling roots. He had expected the man to fall flat on his face after the second root at the very least.
He cleared his throat, āYou move well, for a foreigner that isā.
Gulk looked at him and smirked, āThis is no different from my homeland. Only difference is men would rather ski down mountains and steep slopes rather than trek through forestsā.
Lyraph vaulted over a big root, āWhat is ski? I always imagined you Strohinites wet yourselves in scalding hot water and then swim in the snowā.
Gulk burst into laughter and yelped. When Lyraph turned to the man, he saw that the nobleman had tripped on a small root which itself looked like an old manās finger. He hurried to the man, extending a hand to help him up. Gulk took it and got up, thanking Lyraph.

So I was reasonably happy with the performance AirPods brought to the table. I understand they arenāt the most dynamic sound out there, but they worked well for what I needed them for.
Now Iāve gotten a little more interested in sitting back and listening to music for the sake of it, and as a way to melt my stress from the work day. Iāve got a little āvibe cornerā in my office with LED nights and my favorite album covers.

So I just wanted to share a poverty meal that I grew up having but now I make it for my family. It is also really healthy!! I didn't know it was an Italian peasant dish until I was an adult and realized my family was poor growing up. Next time I make it I will add a photo.
It's Cannellini and escarole soup (not sure if it has an actual name)
You just need
A little olive oil, garlic, onion, 1 Head Escarole, S&P, can of Cannellini beans, chicken or veggie bullion.
You basically just put some olive oil in a pot, brown some garlic and diced onions, add like 2 cups of water, bring to a simmer, add the bullion, escarole, drained and rinsed beans, salt, pepper. Cover the pot let it simmer for a bit and that's it.
It goes well with homemade bread (which is always cheaper and better than store bought)
You can also add what ever other spices you want. I like to use bay leaves and the great thing is that about everything in this recipe is to taste. But I'm sure there is a proper recipe on google somewhere.

This is a old story I would have definitely liked to have heard more about. Never noticed it before but was a good touch to Daveyās character. Stand up guy when he wasnāt gambling. Would have made for a good scene for The Many Saints. Robert Patrick is an outstanding actor.

I loved the whole event, and finished it today due to Genshin burnout which Iāve just come back from. The last bit totally destroyed me though.
When we got to Vimara Village, I had no clue what was waiting in store. Then, out came the living creator of TCG and then came that fucking cutscene.
My best friend recently died from cancer. Itās been nearly 2 months, yet I miss her more and more with each passing day. I did the same thing as the dude who lived: I kept denying her illness, not acknowledging it, I said she would be fine, Iāve known people with cancer and theyāve lived, sheāll be fine! She never liked acknowledging it either, but all this time, she knew she was going to die, and never told me. She never let it show either, her weakness, her deteriorating health. She saw her strength slowly go and still acted totally normal to me. She had stopped her chemo for 3 weeks. Then, I didnāt hear anything for her for 3 days. The day before my birthday, she was gone.
I made so many fond memories with her. From playing roblox, to telling secrets, to dreaming about our future together. Unfortunately, sheāll never see it.
This Genshin event was great, but i defo wonāt be able to play TCG for a while cause everything is still fresh and that last cutscene totally destroyed me. Though, I feel a sense of solidarity too from that character. I felt guilty, because I never got see her in her last moments. I really desperately wish I did.
