2023.06.02 01:34 WitchyAvalon I'm seeing a guy and I'm worried he uses women.
TL,DR: guy I've been seeing is nice and is mostly showing a kind hearted nature. I'm worried that he prefers women who can provide for him or that he willingly gets into relationships where he can be given stuff.
I'm(F40s) coming for advice because I'm a bit confused right now. I'm seeing this guy, Jim (M 40s). He's cute and has had some painful situations, which I respect. He was raised in between two golden children and wasn't exactly the scapegoat, more likely he was the lost child. He's never been married, both ex GF's and mothers to his two children broke up with him.
We've had very profound conversations and I'm grateful for that, but recently, I've been feeling like he only dates women who can provide. It's like he had a before abd after situation and he's been doing this for a decade.
All his exes since 8 years back have had mental health issues. Two of them provided housing and everything else.
I'm a bit alarmed. I've known him for years. He's had extremely high paying jobs despite not having any formal education. He's very good at a particular industry. First opportunity he was super well off but had to leave the job and relocate.
Second time around, he made huge amounts of money, had a luxury car and an apartment. Got fired and didn't even have money for groceries. I'm a bit uncomfortable because his timeline tells me he only got that job after breaking up with his ex, who has mental health breakdowns and very serious emotional situations but was wealthy and had lots of money. He drove her car. Had access to things only accessible to rich people.
He finds this job where he got fired. Moves 3 hours away and gets a good job, although not as high paying. No place of his own. Ends up living with a much younger gf who had BPD and once he got fired, he had to move back to our area.
Went to live at a friend's house. Met his latest ex. She has a diagnosed mental illness. She has a job that pays minimum wage but also has some type of government assistance. He says he helped her through some crises and that's okay, what makes me wonder is that he moved from his friends house strain into her home. She looks like a very strong willed person who's battling her own situations, and he described her as a hard worker, which is admirable.
Now, I just realized now that he hasn't told me if he has a job. He's very comfortable working for someone else, or at least being directed. His dream was to start a bit. I gave him some info for him to begin with but he quickly relayed all the responsibility to me, which I politely declined.
He never talks badly about anyone, and when he mentions something a woman has done, he's rather compassionate.
He says he does " some fishing" and sells it "every now and then". He had no passive income and tried to get me to buy some stuff he's discarding.
I'm getting the feeling that he might be living someone off.
He said he would call, but didn't. And that was fine with me until he lied and said he gets a weird message from my number when he calls. Next time he calls asking for a favor, which really sets off alarms and irritates me.
I just completed a very important goal and feel like we are on very different paths. I'm trying not to judge and don't know if maybe I should tell him how I feel next time he asks why I'm not acting as enthusiastically as before. I hold no ill feelings towards him. I'm.just confused because he can be such a great human being but some areas look shady and I don't want to end up finding out he used people. Help????!!

2023.06.02 01:34 Seahawks_Fan12 Beninga Interview with John Levine of MariMed
Marijuana's status as a Schedule 1 substance under federal law makes things far more complicated for this industry compared to others. Despite 23 states having legalized recreational cannabis use and 39 with medical marijuana programs, one of the biggest challenges to the industry is the glaring lack of financial services.
Due to being illegal under federal law, most financial institutions are compelled to deny their services to marijuana businesses, thus creating numerous problems, the most significant being raising capital and the dangers of operating in cash.
In many ways, this puts multi-state operators (MSOs) in a better position as compared to smaller shops. The question is: can David and Goliath coexist in cannabis?
To learn more, Benzinga reached out to the CEO of a not-so-typical MSO - MariMed (OTCQX:MRMD), which prides itself on its mission of making the small large by focusing on values that improve the lives of its customers and providing the highest standards of quality at every stage in its multi-state ecosystem. The company's CEO Jon Levine, who's been with MariMed since its founding shared more on what makes it different from other businesses.
📷
Attention To Quality
"Our financial prudence is a big differentiator in an industry that does not have any of the traditional trappings or luxuries of other small U.S. companies," Levine told Benzinga. "Our attention to quality and to people also sets us apart. Our cannabis flower is hand-raised, hand-trimmed and hand-cured. Each grow room has a specific person to steward the plants and that person's name is on the door. We seek to improve lives every day through our products, and our company culture is a big part of that."
Benzinga: Please tell us more about MariMed.
"MariMed is an MSO that serves Massachusetts, Maryland, Delaware, Maine, Rhode Island and Puerto Rico through our Thrive and Panacea Wellness dispensaries and with a variety of house brands. Vertically integrated, we produce Massachusetts' #1 cannabis flower and concentrate brand, Nature's Heritage, as well as Betty's Eddies infused taffy chews, Vibations high energy infused drink mix and Bubby's Baked, a line of bite-sized infused snacks that pay homage to the old-school pot brownie."
Benzinga: When it comes to cannabis, is there room for both large multi-state operators and small shops?
"We absolutely feel that our industry can contain both MSOs and small shops--and in fact, we're a terrific example as we're an MSO that operates small shops. We're trying to make a difference in the cohorts we serve, for both medical and recreational consumers, and that means operating dispensaries that reflect the surrounding community and anticipate and serve their needs. We want customers to become loyal not because they don't have other options but because they do. That's part of our dedication to improving lives daily."
Fiscal Prudence Is Key To Survival
Benzinga: What is your advice to both large operators and small pot shops to stay afloat in this challenging environment?
"Fiscal prudence is key to survival as cannabis changes and matures. We pay our bills, do not overextend ourselves, and stay true to the goals we put in place for ourselves. This held us in great stead when our former CEO Bob Fireman passed away suddenly just before last Christmas," Levine said. "Rather than finding ourselves rudderless, Bob and our team had already ensured that there was a robust plan for growth over this year and next. Following that plan since Bob's passing has allowed us to process our grief without harming the company, which is the best way I can think of to honor Bob's legacy. We just completed our fourth straight year of improved earnings growth and anticipate that 2024 is going to be a hallmark year for MariMed as more of our plans come to fruition."

2023.06.02 01:30 Camuso_CPA How To Prepare for Digital Asset Tax Audit: Tips & Insights for Web3 Businesses
In the rapidly evolving world of digital assets, web3 businesses are catching the attention of regulators worldwide. As a result, tax compliance has become a crucial concern for companies operating in the digital asset industry. Proper preparation and planning are key to winning audits before they even begin, ensuring your business emerges unscathed and your bottom line protected. In this comprehensive guide, we will delve into the essential steps that web3 businesses can take to prepare themselves for a tax audit, along with best practices in digital asset tax and accounting.
Gathering Necessary Documentation
Effective tax audit preparation starts with gathering all the necessary documentation upfront. This includes important documents such as receipts, banking records, and other relevant financial records. Having these documents readily available when requested by tax authorities will save time and streamline the audit process, demonstrating your commitment to compliance and professionalism in managing your digital assets.
Implementing a Sophisticated Record-Keeping System
Maintaining a sophisticated record-keeping system is paramount in digital asset tax and accounting. Utilizing a robust accounting solution and
sales tax solution tailored to web3 businesses will automate and streamline your accounting processes, while also enabling you to create proper audit trails. This system should be capable of documenting the source and flow of funds for each transaction conducted across the blockchain, providing transparency and accountability in your financial operations.
Understanding and Implementing Correct Tax Positions
Collaborating with a knowledgeable tax professional is crucial in understanding and implementing correct tax positions for the various types of transactions your web3 business engages in. Taking conservative and well-documented tax positions aligned with IRS tax code and regulations is essential to mitigate potential issues during an audit. Working with an expert will ensure compliance, reduce risk, and help you navigate the complexities of digital asset taxation.
Addressing Potential Red Flags
Given the nascent nature of the digital asset industry, there may be scenarios without clear regulatory guidance. It’s important to take a reasonable and conservative approach when addressing potential red flags, documenting the rationale behind your tax positions. This documentation will serve as contemporaneous evidence supporting the compliance and legitimacy of your tax positions. By taking a proactive approach and demonstrating your commitment to compliance, you can mitigate potential challenges during audits.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
To protect your business during a tax audit, it’s essential to avoid common mistakes that can negatively impact your bottom line. These include inadequate record-keeping, failure to document income, gains, losses, and ending cost basis for each transaction, and taking incorrect tax positions.
Additionally, incorrectly valuing digital assets can significantly impact your overall gains or losses and the income recognized. Implementing the correct accounting system and methodology is crucial to minimize potential adjustments during an audit.
Lessons Learned and Proactive Measures
Drawing from experiences in audits related to web3 businesses, it’s evident that proper preparation and proactive measures play a significant role in success. Staying up-to-date with tax and accounting regulatory changes specific to digital assets and the web3 industry is crucial. Collaborating with experienced tax and accounting professionals who understand the complexities of this space will help you navigate regulations and establish appropriate compliance and accounting systems. Implementing an ongoing compliance and accounting plan ensures your systems are regularly maintained, reducing errors and inaccuracies that could negatively impact you during an audit.

2023.06.02 01:29 bbyfog FDA has issued final guidance on Adjusting Covariates in Randomized Clinical Trials
FDA has issued
final guidance on adjusting covariates in the statistical analysis of randomized clinical trials.
FDA Guidance for the Industry. Adjusting for Covariates in Randomized Clinical Trials for Drugs and Biological Products. May 2023 [PDF]
- Guidance applies to analysis of randomized, parallel group clinical trials, both superiority trials and noninferiority trials.
- Recommendations in this guidance are consistent with the ICH guidance E9(R1)
- Baseline covariates in this guidance refer to demographic factors, disease characteristics, or other information collected from participants before the time of randomization.
- Covariate adjustment refers to the use of baseline covariate measurements for estimating and testing population-level treatment effects between randomized groups.
- The guidance confirms that an unadjusted analysis is acceptable for the primary analysis of an efficacy endpoint. However,
-- Incorporating prognostic baseline covariates in the design and analysis of clinical trial data can result in a more efficient use of data to demonstrate and quantify the effects of treatment.
-- Doing so will generally reduce the variability of estimation of treatment effects and thus lead to narrower confidence intervals and more powerful hypothesis testing.

2023.06.02 01:28 Arfaisland How can Kuwait achieve the Netherlands' "Het Nieuwe Werken" (The New Way of Working), which promotes flexible working hours and arrangements to improve work-life balance and productivity?
To achieve similar strides in promoting flexible work arrangements and improving work-life balance, Kuwait could consider the following steps:
- Policy and Legal Framework: Kuwait can review and update its labor laws and regulations to provide a legal framework that supports flexible working arrangements. This may include provisions for alternative work schedules, remote work options, and flexible start and end times. -> which they're relatively attempting to do now.
- Employer Engagement: Encouraging employers to adopt flexible work policies and create a supportive work culture is crucial. Kuwait can promote awareness campaigns, provide guidance to employers, and highlight the benefits of flexible work arrangements for both employees and businesses.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaboration between government entities, employers, labor unions, and employee representatives is essential. Creating a platform for dialogue and cooperation can help identify challenges, share best practices, and develop tailored solutions that fit the Kuwaiti context.
- Pilot Programs and Case Studies: Initiating pilot programs within specific industries or organizations can serve as a testing ground for flexible work arrangements. By collecting data and conducting case studies, Kuwait can assess the impact of flexible work policies on productivity, employee satisfaction, and work-life balance. -> anyone have any idea of a place that's being using as a testing ground for these laws?
- Infrastructure and Technology: Supporting the necessary infrastructure and technology is critical for successful implementation. This includes ensuring reliable internet connectivity, promoting digital tools and platforms for remote collaboration, and investing in flexible workspace solutions.
- Employee Education and Support: Providing training and resources to employees on how to effectively manage flexible work arrangements can enhance productivity and ensure a smooth transition. This may include time management skills, remote communication etiquette, and self-discipline strategies. -> I'm not sure about self discipline strategies.
- Work-Life Balance Initiatives: Encouraging a healthy work-life balance through initiatives such as wellness programs, mental health support, and promoting employee well-being can further support the adoption of flexible work arrangements.
- Monitoring and Evaluation: Regular monitoring and evaluation of the implementation and impact of flexible work policies are crucial. Gathering feedback from employees, tracking key performance indicators, and making necessary adjustments based on the outcomes will help refine the approach over time.
By taking these steps, Kuwait can work towards creating an environment that promotes flexibility in working hours and empowers employees to have better control over their work-life balance, ultimately enhancing productivity, job satisfaction, and overall well-being.
Another Q to CGpt. How would these solutions be relevant to Kuwait's current affairs ?
In considering the relevance of the solutions to Kuwait's current affairs, it's important to take into account the specific context and challenges faced by the country. Here are some points to consider:
- Economic Diversification: Kuwait has been striving to diversify its economy beyond oil, focusing on sectors such as finance, technology, and tourism. Promoting flexible work arrangements can support this diversification by attracting talent, fostering innovation, and improving productivity in non-oil sectors.
- Workforce Demographics: Kuwait has a significant youth population and a growing number of women entering the workforce. Offering flexible work arrangements can help accommodate the needs and aspirations of these demographics, providing opportunities for career growth, work-life balance, and gender equality.
- Urbanization and Infrastructure: Kuwait is experiencing rapid urbanization, and infrastructure development is a key focus. Implementing flexible work arrangements can help reduce traffic congestion, ease the burden on transportation systems, and contribute to sustainable urban planning.
- Digital Transformation: Kuwait is making progress in digital transformation, with initiatives such as e-government services and Smart Cities. Flexible work arrangements align with these efforts by leveraging digital technologies, remote collaboration tools, and flexible workspaces to enable remote work and enhance productivity.
- Quality of Life and Well-being: The well-being of individuals and their quality of life are important considerations. Promoting work-life balance through flexible work arrangements can contribute to improved mental health, reduced stress levels, and increased job satisfaction among employees.
- Cultural Values and Social Norms: Kuwait has its unique cultural values and social norms. Solutions that respect cultural practices, traditions, and societal expectations while addressing work-life balance can be better accepted and implemented within the local context.
- Public-Private Collaboration: Collaboration between government entities, private sector employers, and labor unions is crucial to implementing and sustaining flexible work arrangements. Encouraging dialogue, partnerships, and shared responsibility can ensure that solutions are relevant, practical, and inclusive.
These factors highlight the relevance of the proposed solutions to Kuwait's current affairs, aligning with the country's goals of economic diversification, infrastructure development, digital transformation, and the well-being of its workforce. By customizing and implementing these solutions in a manner that considers Kuwait's specific context and challenges, the country can work towards creating a more flexible and productive work environment.
Just thought I should share some of these point to y'all.

2023.06.02 01:27 Difficult-Stick924 32F/ Hope to have many friends
Hello everyone, I am a 32 year old woman living in NYC and looking for someone to develop a long term relationship with. I am a fairly laid back and easy going person. I work full time in the financial industry and so far, I love the job. I have a mix of introverted and extroverted energy and I like to go out to concerts and events, but also like to relax at home on the couch with a glass of wine. I love to read and when I get home in the evening I usually read some financial news because it enriches my work, but in my free time do like to do various things. Physically, I am 5'7" tall, Caucasian, slim/beautiful, with dark blonde hair. Once we start talking, I will be more than happy to exchange selfies. For hobbies, I enjoy doing various things such as cooking/baking (always happy to swap recipes!)) ), traveling, reading comics, playing board/video games, live music, exploring cities looking for food/cafes, and boba. I will try to cut back on bubble tea this year, but do enjoy it and I have been cooking since college and have gotten pretty good at it. It's fun to watch recipes online and on youtube and then make them at home. I'm a big fan of finance books and usually read The Great Crash of 1929, The Last Partnership, Business in America, etc. on a regular basis. So, I'll definitely be getting around town more this year, reviewing and looking for new foods to try! I'll mostly be looking around the area! I'm mostly looking around the region! I'm mostly looking around the area! I'm mostly looking for people over 35 in NYC or the Northeast. If any of this sounds interesting, please feel free to send me a chat or DM!

2023.06.02 01:27 OppositeFuel1343 Phượng, she/her
I don’t like to label my gender but I’m “transmasc” and have used mostly he/him, sometimes they/them pronouns since I was around 13. I’ve recently been uncertain about that, and I know that I’m definitely not a cis woman, but I’d like to figure how she/her feels, as well as femme gendered terms like daughtegirlfriend etc.
If it helps: I like to climb rocks and trees and wander around outdoors. I feed the crows in the park near my flat every day. I’m in a metal band, and I work in the live music industry. I have a kitten called Mì.

It's been awhile since I've been in the workforce for traditional ABA companies that are larger. I have noticed requests to complete quite a bit of unpaid training prior to starting-- even weeks before an official start date. Has this become the norm in the industry? Nature influences industrial designers to emulate it's own natural designs. The inspiration taken from nature and used to create these designs can be reused in reverse. In this reverse design process, the same inspiration from nature is used to create designs that work with nature.
Airplanes were inspired by birds flying in the sky. Using this inspiration from nature, a birdhouse shaped like an airplane is created.

2023.06.02 01:22 rlramirez12 Yellow patches in new sod
| Hey guys, I live in Utah, Zone 6b, and I installed this Kentucky Blue Hybrid sod myself on Saturday the 27th. I will admit that it probably wasn’t the perfect sod install. I went over and tried to fill in gaps with fresh sod top soil and I noticed that as time goes on there have been a few patchy yellow areas. I read that you need to water 3-4 times a day for 20 minutes at a time. And now I’m reading that it might be too much water. Temps have fluctuated between mid 50s at night to early 80s during the peak sun. I did put fertilizer down before installing the sod. Although I’m not sure how much I put down. And I still have a hard time trying to define what “moist” means. Is that the ground? Or the grass itself? Are those patches of grass going to die and then I’ll have to over seed it come fall? submitted by rlramirez12 to lawncare [link] [comments] |

Not judging, but I am wondering why it is so rampant in that area. It's an industrial area- lumber, window's manufacturer, Little Caesar's distribution Center, etc., so what is with that area?
I don't imagine the blue collar workers finish a 12 hour shift and pick up a street walker.

Hello everyone! I've played a lot and used maybe all the builds apart from one: I've never played via physical ranged units and wanna do it. Also, I didn't play industrious a lot and want to unite these ideas.
The problem is I don't really understand what tomes I should pick. Astral 2 for amplyfied arrows is necessary, but what else? I tried to pick enchantment as tome 1, but in fact, it was a bad idea, because I had very little damage in the beginning and it made my progress worse. Nevertheless, I need this +1 range enchantment, don't I? Tried to take this winter tome 1, it didn't work also.
So, is there any route what tomes to prefer? Also, how should I levelup my hero? Usually I take lvls either in warfare or in battlemage to win battles in the early game, later I take some support abilities.
P.S. I would also like to take Tier 5 Materium because I haven't ever done it, but it could be in another playthrough

2023.06.02 01:19 razzdawg Engineering major
I’m having a crisis and thinking I might have made a mistake majoring in Civil Engineering. I’ve liked all my classes and my internship isn’t bad but the work at my internship is so bland and repetitive that I’m getting bored. I’m entering my senior year and supposed to graduate next spring but I’m considering adding a comp sci minor (which would delay my graduation by a semester) or maybe even switching to industrial engineering and taking an extra year. The reason for comp sci is that I enjoy problem solving and coding and I think it would leave doors open for tech jobs. Industrial would also have more possibilities within the tech industry. If anyone has any advice I could use the help. My plan at the moment if I don’t switch is just to finish civil and then do an ME in structural engineering.
