2023.03.25 08:56 JobNarrow7413 I built a Herobrine statue when I was 8, what I came back to after leaving has still left me wondering and scared to this day.

When I was 8 I had built a Herobrine statue on my Xbox 360 version of Minecraft, I had what any child would've had and that was a all diamond block village, and a huge 6 story house made out of diamond blocks with 15 dogs, (Creative only obv), and I decided that I would build a giant Herobrine statue after becoming obsessed with the character for a long time and watching all of those creepypasta videos about him, anyways, I remember I spent like 3 days building this statue right next to my diamond house. I was so proud of it, made completely out of wool (which has led me to somewhat of a logical reasoning for what I'm about to say). I had just thought about leaving my village after all the hard work I put into my statue of Herobrine, so I decide to go exploring for another village, just to fuck around, the village was about 600 - 800 blocks away, and I just grabbed bucket of lava from my inventory and went ham on the town, no inch of it wasn't covered in lava. After spending about 30 minutes dong the normal child things of setting a village on fire, I went back to my village. I had this odd feeling, I wasn't sure why, but when I got back to my village, my gut sank. My Herobrine statue was missing half of its head, and it was on fire at the legs. (mind you this state was like 100 blocks high) and I was so fucking scared that Notch, or Herobrine himself had ruined my statue because the timing was fucking insane. I ran out to tell my grandparents about what had happened and all they had to respond was "You know that stuff's not real right?". I tried to explain to them what everything was but there was no point. I went back to my Xbox and I had never been that nervous before. I looked around at the statue and didn't see anything other than what I've described. After about 10 minutes of me staring at the statue just burning, I shut my Xbox off and didn't play Minecraft for about 5 years after that. Now let me tell you my logical answering to this, when I was coming back to my village, It was raining in game, so lighting could've possibly hit the statue and maybe as for the head being half missing, creepers could've spawned in the head and a skeleton could shot them and they exploded. This is what I've been figuring as to what had happened for the last 10 years now, but nothing will every shake the feeling I had, and I still think for those things to happen simultaneously, is pretty unlikely, but not impossible. What do you guys think ?

2023.03.25 05:40 redpierrr Slenderman... Jr.?

FINAL DRAFT: To post to Subreddits.
Slenderman has always been an internet rumor of sorts. You know, the sort of thing that you only see in videogames, videos of creepypastas, let’s play, et cetera, et cetera. This was how I believed Slenderman, just a sort of internet rumor of sorts. That was, until I changed my belief of Slenderman after I had an experience of sorts with him.
I remember I played Slenderman a lot as a kid and was only scared by it at first because I do not get scared easily, but one day I discovered a new story of sorts that changed my belief of Slenderman as only a game. An internet advertisement when I was watching let’s plays told me that Slenderman was watching me, and this scared me a little bit but again it did not scare me a lot because it is very difficult to scare me. Just for reference I did not even get scared when a bee or even a wasp landed on my bare skin.
I clicked on the advertisement because of curiosity, and it directed or redirected my browser to a website of sorts that displayed nothing more than a black screen with hyperrealistic blood and Slenderman in the middle surrounded by hyperrealistic blood and guts and disgusting bits. Of course this was very disturbing but because I was not scared I clicked on Slenderman because I believed it could have been a game of sorts or a “ARG” which I saw a video about a little bit ago.
When I clicked my mouse on Slenderman I heard suddenly a very loud noise of sorts that was very high pitched and was also extremely disturbing. Even I was taken a-back and had to take off my earbuds because it scared me so badly, which does not happen often even when wasps land on me. When I looked back at Slenderman on the screen there was a smaller Slenderman next to the normal Slenderman also covered in hyperrealistic blood, and he told me that he is “Slenderman Jr.”. Of course this was some sort of joke or if it was not it was very scary.
At this same time the website that this advertisement led me to was closed all by itself. In fact at this time I was not even putting my hands anywhere near my iPad because I was too busy covering my ears because of the noise of sorts that had just played through my earbuds. After the website closed I saw on my iPad screen “1 out of 8 websites discovered.” I muttered under my breath this is no joke because this could not be a game or “ARG” or anything other than a Slenderman curse, or a curse from Slenderman Jr. because Slenderman only works with pages, Slenderman Jr. works with websites of sorts, a different type of “pages” of sorts.
I immediately began to look for different advertisements but there were 7 to be found and I was also a little bit scared that Slenderman Jr. would find me on the websites which would be a jump-scare of sorts which I saw in many of the let’s play videos I watched. I tried calling the police officers because at this time I was so scared but instead of going to voice-mail instead I think it was Slenderman Jr. who picked up because he told me you can not hide until you have discovered all 8 of the websites. Ok, what?
As I browsed YouTube for more advertisements the YouTube 666 glitch occurred and my YouTube began to be covered in hyperrealistic blood with weird noises of sorts that disturbed me and created a desultory feeling inside of me. Even though there was blood everywhere and it was even possible that at the same time I was being cursed by the Devil or Slenderman Jr. with his powers of sorts I still was happy because these brought me more advertisements. Before I knew it I even found the second website from an advertisement that showed Slenderman Jr. holding me as a hyperrealistic body with hyperrealistic blood, too.
Very quickly I found many of the rest of the websites but because Slenderman Jr. was a trickster of sorts like a fox or another fairy tale character he put fake websites to deceive me these websites also were deadly because Slenderman Jr. made eye contact with me even though he has no eyes he could still see me through the screen somehow. Or maybe he was not seeing me through the screen?
After I found the sixth website I was called by the police officer. I am saved I thought until I picked it up and realized how boned I really am. Slenderman Jr. said he killed the police officer and I was next if I dared to collect the pages and see his story. I dropped the phone really hard and began to look for the last websites. I also heard a noise inside of my house which I believed was my parents or older brother because what else would it be?
It was not my parents or older brother because when I found the 7th page a tall man of sorts teleported to me in my bedroom through the door. He was probably heading for the source of the pages which was my iPad. At that time I was about to scream Slenderman but I noticed it was Slenderman Jr. because he was covered in realistic blood and also was shorter than I remember Slenderman from the games and advertisements I saw.
When I saw Slenderman Jr. I remembered always look away because if you look at Slenderman or now Slenderman Jr. it could be the last thing you ever see so I had to shut my eyes tight and leave the room to go outside to collect the final website. It felt like I was now in the let’s play videos I watched because at the same time I walked around with my iPad outside trying to find the last website and not look at Slenderman Jr. or I will sort of die.
Just as I discovered the final advertisement I was about to direct myself to the website but I heard a large scream of sorts that sounded like my mom. I was about to end this but thought I must save my mom. I ran back to the house when I realized blood was everywhere and no where were my parents only Slenderman Jr. in the corner of my eye he was about to destroy me. Uh oh. I ran to my parents bed room and they were there and safe too so what was the scream was it Slenderman Jr. being a trickster of sorts?
This was answered when I clicked on the final website and 8/8 websites discovered. However Slenderman Jr. only got more mad when he said 8 out of 8 websites discovered… how many websites have you completed? He grew a smile so big that it finally made me so scared I could only scream as he demolished me forever. Slenderman Jr., son of slenderman.

2023.03.24 13:37 bluedicktip Question for the Community about Horror Podcasts

Context:
I listen to Mr. Creepypasta on Spotify almost every day. I've been doing so for the last few years now. Recently, I've tried branching off to other podcasts: NightVale, Creeps McPasta, etc., but none of them are really engaging my interest. When I listen to Mr. Creepypasta, I feel him pulling me into the story. He's an excellent story-teller: changes his voice for different characters, music matches the scene, changes his speech patterns to match the context, etc.. Everything and everyone else just sounds like dome ASMR of sone guy or gal reading from a book, and I personally can't stand that stuff.
Question:
Are there ANY other horror podcasts that match Mr. Creepypasta's level of story-telling?

2023.03.24 04:11 KaptinSalazoo I played every Ace Combat games and more in a months long marathon.

Hello everyone,
I was going to write a life story thing about why I did this, but it would take too long and this post is already going to be pretty hefty. So I'll cut to the chase, over the last few months, I did an Ace Combat Marathon which also includes all the games I consider to be "Ace Combat Like". I did omit a few here and there, but it was either because they were too hard to obtain, too far from what I consider to be the Ace Combat formula or just not interesting enough. Now that it is over, I would like to tell you about my experience with all of these games, so, if you are interested, have a good read !

DISCLAIMERS :

- English is not my native language and I am brain dead so if me no write good me sory.
- These entries are not reviews but simply a summary of how I felt about each game.
- Spoilers

Here are the games, in the order that I played them in :

Games that, in my opinion, constitute the main continuity :

Air Combat / Ace Combat 1 :
- Gameplay : Dated, but still very usable by modern players.
- Graphics : I mean... it's a 1995 game. But the emulator gave it a good coat of paint.
- Story : Just enough to justify the game happening, it's no big deal, we all know where the series goes later on. I just love the idea of an island-nation sized terror group having a giant air force, aircraft carriers, a supersized stronghold and a flying fortress (the first of the ace combat series).
- Music : Pure 90's juice, get ready to rock and synth.

Ace Combat 2 :
- Gameplay : Great for the time, it's completely servicable to this day.
- Graphics : A noticable improvement from the first AC, specially good with the right emulator settings.
- Story : Literally the same as the first AC but on a bigger scale, gets expanded upon in the remake.
- Music : In my opinion, the best from the PS1 series, Lode Stone is still stuck in my head.

Ace Combat 3 Electrosphere (Japanese version with english text patch, necessary since, for those who don't know, the international version got most of its content cut out.) :
- Gameplay : The best of the PS1 series, feels much more like flying a plane than in the previous ACs. Plus the special missions where you fly a stratospheric bomber, a parasite fighter or a hecking starfighter are something else.
- Graphics : Again, an improvement on the previous entry, although less drastic, the art style is the most noticable feature.
- Story : Who put planes in my metal gear solid story line ? My man went from zero story to a five branches storyline about revenge, corporatism and transhumanism in a cyberpunk universe with unique missions and 2d animated cutscenes.
- Music : Extremely... unique and hard to describe, it wouldn't be out of place in a horror game or a creepypasta about some haunted retroware.

Ace Combat 4 Shattered skies :
- Gameplay : Wierdly it's not too different from AC3 in my opinion, but hey, if it ain't broken, don't fix it.
- Graphics : The transition to the PS2 is truly impressive, it's just great to look at. Although, beware, it has some graphical issues with emulation.
- Story : Far less complex than AC3, but perhaps told with more style, it's more heartfelt and relatable. And of course, this is kind of where the strangereal universe is starting to become more established.
- Music : The first game in the series where the sky starts speaking latin, it establishes what the Ace Combat music style is going to be from then on.

Ac Combat 5 The unsung war :
- Gameplay : More or less the same as in AC4, perhaps a little bit more arcadey ? Great plane diversity though.
- Graphics : Maybe it was because of emulation and the UI but I felt like it was a slight downgrade from AC4, probably not the case though.
- Story : Kind of a balance between the war story theme of AC4 and the over the top sci-fi conspiracy vibe of AC3, most of the series will adopt this dynamic from then on.
- Music : Same vibe as AC4, with more latin singing for us to enjoy.

Ace Combat Zero The Belkan war :
- Gameplay : Similar to the two previous entries, although with more bossfights.
- Graphics : Also similar to the rest of the PS2 trilogy, it's not like there was much room to improve within the limits of the console's hardware.
- Story : Something something borders bad, buddy, funni country nukes itself, V2, it's time, bottom text. A good story that establishes a solid fundation for the strangereal lore.
- Music : The sky speaks latin, flamenco edition.

Ace Combat X Skies of deception :
- Gameplay : The engine was recycled from AC4 so it's similar, which is good, although everything is slowed down to help with the PSP controls.
- Graphics : About as much as you could squeeze out of the PSP for a flight sim, which is pretty neat.
- Story : A step back from previous entries, but more than enough to get all those good ace combat tropes in there, superweapons galore, conspiracy, zealous characters, the whole nine yards.
- Music : A suprising return to the PS1 trilogy vibe, probably to go easy on those poor little PSP speakers. Though it's not at the same level of quality; most of the ost would make Minasha Please, your freestyle dance teacher, go crazy.

Ace Combat 6 Fires of liberation :
- Gameplay : The first big improvement since AC3, with the notable introduction of post stall maneuvers. Also the scale of the missions are unprecedented thanks to the transition to the xbox360, with loads of units on both sides.
- Graphics : New platform, new graphics, and boy is it gorgeous ! Still very much holds its own to this day, although they had to pay for it with the diversity of planes, which is the lowest in the series.
- Story : Very similar to AC4, down to the presentation, but more clumsy. It's not bad by any means, just kind of average.
- Music : Back to the AC classic formula, although the most memorable ost isn't the final latin one this time, but the aptly named "Liberation of Gracemeria".

Ace Combat X² Joint Assault (The most based Ace Combat in my opinion) :
- Gameplay : Similar to the previous PSP entry, but even slower. (That's not to say easier, some bossfights are downright bullshit.) Also you can pilot WW2 planes and a 747 so 10/10.
- Graphics : A bit of an improvement on Skies of Deception, but yeah... still PSP graphics.
- Story : Set in the real world, but whith all the over the top absurdity of strangereal and somehow even more. How about a story where Jeff Bezos hires the entire Romanian army to become terrorists in order to mount the biggest insurance scam ever, supplying them with usual ace combat tier superweapons, but the Romanians betray him and try to found Romania 2 electric boogaloo in Khazakstan; but you stop them and now have to face your rival who breaks down in tears about his parents mid boss fight before you shoot him down in his guitar looking ass superfighter, ending the story by personally flying your jet under amazon HQ in San Francisco to explode Jeff Bezos with a Maverick missile to the face ?
- Music : About as bonkers as the story, a mix of usual Ace Combat epic score, throwbacks to the PS1 trilogy ost, stereotypical middle eastern music, and some sort of hard rock ? Seriously listen to "In the Zone", it's pretty representative.

Ace Combat Assault Horizon :
- Gameplay : The game feels like it's been developped by a 12 years old high on sugar and aderall, the first mission almost gave me an epilepsy attack and I'm not even epileptic. It's obviously a huge departure from the traditionnal ace combat gameplay, and there are cool aspects like the attack helicopter missions, but the rest of the game feels like it's on rails, which for a plane game is kind of an oxymoron. The "dogfight mode" is basically a roller coaster simulator, some missions like the AC-130 and the Blackhawk door gunner ones are ripped straight from call of duty; and the one strategic bomber mission is literally on rails most of the time.
- Graphics : More or less average for the time ? I had a hard time seeing behind the Michael Bay level of explosions and particles going off everywhere, everytime all at once. Although the plane destruction animations are kinda cool, they just get old fast.
- Story : Basically Call of Duty or a Tom Clancy novel but with planes, I suppose they were trying to one up HAWX which came out a year earlier ? Some funny elements are the main big friendly general being french and dubbed by someone poorly imitating a french accent; also the main baddies, the Russian rebels, use the litteral waffen SS division symbols for their units, what's up with that ?
- Music : Strangely pretty cool ? Lots of competent rock and epic scores, very intense, in keeping with the theme, but not bad by any means.

Ace Combat 7 Skies Unknown :
- Gameplay : Same basis as AC6 but improved, pretty much the best it's been so far.
- Graphics : Well, as the most modern AC, it's also naturally the best looking. Planes, effects, maps, art style, it's all great stuff.
- Story : Belka did it again, skynet edition. Also air force penal batallion sent on suicide missions with half the members convicted of relatively light offences and/or with investigations still pending, thanks OSEA, you truly are one of the democracies of all time. Overall the story is regular Ace Combat stuff, its highlights being, as often, the bonkers strangereal elements.
- Story (DLC) : Hunt for the red october, but lots of planes and also the characters are insane. 10/10
- Music : Back to good ol' latin choirs, latiner choirer, plus the usual cool epic scores, great as always.

Games that are outside the main continuity but I still consider to be Ace Combat games :

Ace Combat Assault Horizon Legacy+ (Despite the title, it's a remake of AC2) :
- Gameplay : Surprisingly great for a DS/3DS title, better than the PSP entries in my opinion. There are post stall maneuvers and a watered down, more digest version of Assault Horizon's dogfight mode.
- Graphics : Pretty good for 3DS hardware, it's obviously a huge improvement on the original AC2. Also there are some nintendo themed planes, it's pretty neat, now I know that if Luigi was a jet, he would be an F-35.
- Story : There is a story where there was almost none in AC2, so it's an improvement in my book. They gave your wingmen voice lines, and I love the fact that they made the original "Edge" Kei Nagase kind of a Tsundere. The best new feature is the added ACZero style special squadron bossfights, each being more absurd than the last, there's : Medieval LARPers in F-14s, Furry with anger issues, E-girl and her tier 3 simp squadron, Man who plays chess in his plane ; and finally, three fleshed out ZOE bossfights, where in the original AC2, ZOE was just kinda flying around, being an optionnal ennemy with more HP.
- Music : Most of the tracks were changed for a more modern aces combat feel, but there are some bangers in there nontheless.
PS : In the original release, mission 2, easy money, was mistranslated as easy monkey which made me die laughing because I have internet brain rot.

The Sky Crawlers Innocent Aces :
- Gameplay : As close as we'll get from a WW2 themed Ace Combat, and frankly, it's pretty good. The final boss is annoying and there is kind of a dogfight mode light similar to assault horizon legacy because of Wii controls, but other than that, they handeled a gameplay without missiles and with slow prop planes amazingly, while retaining the unmistakable Ace Combat flavor.
- Graphics : I'd say average for Wii hardware, the strong point being the designs and art style which is arguably more thanks to the original novel and animated movie, but the game renders is very well.
- Story : Set in the dieselpunk universe of the Sky Crawler, based on the novel series, the game's story still is more or less original as a prequel to the animated movie adaptation. The lore aside it's very much an Ace Combat story, with conspiracies, betrayals, sacrifices, superweapons, giant fortresses, ace duels etc. As for your main "rival", she's an unhinged tsundere immortal child soldier clone, make of that what you will.
- Music : It's mostly bangers, although not similar to any other Ace Combat game.

Ace Combat likes, either competition or hommage to the franchise (mostly competition though) :

HAWX :
- Gameplay : It's competent, the game is fun to play overall, although the flight mechanics are far more basic than in AC6; its contemporary AC title, even though it was two years old at this point. They tried to compensate with gimmicks like some sort of flight assist tunnel thingy to reach your target, which is pretty useless except when the game makes it mendatory. Also there is the "flight assit mode off" which allows your plane to perform post stall maneuvers at the cost of stability, which would have been great if it didn't force your camera into a disorienting and immersion breaking far away third person view, which doesn't even track your targets half the time. That's bad considering you need it to beat some adversaries like ennemy aces. The plane diversity is huge but they all handle mostly the same. As for the missions, most of them are escort which is pretty frustrating, also some borrow pretty shamelessly from AC with their objectives and sometimes even their plots.
- Graphics : It's not amazing to be honest. The planes and cockpit models are basic, the maps are below the quality seen in AC6, same for the effects and particles. Some model look downright like they were made for the PS2. The artstyle kind of reminds me of G.I Joe, especially the fictionnal units like the baddie's tanks and their super warship, it's got this "toy" aesthetics. They even have a fictionnal superfighter to unlock at the end of the campaign, but it looks like an F-22 drawn by an eight years old.
- Story : It's exactly what it says on the tin, what if Tom Clancy had to write an Ace Combat story. So yeah it's big non descript bad guy attacks and you need to save murica' and thu prasidunt. Also the ghost recons appears so often the game might as well be an ad : "look at this other, better series I've made".
- Music : So unremarkable I didn't even pay attention to it, it's a generic action movie score, nothing more to say.

HAWX2 :
Unfortunately, I was unable to get HAWX2 to work due to server shutdown, thanks ubisoft, forcing games to be played online even in singleplayer was a great idea. Apparently the latest patch was supposed to make it playable offline but this somehow stil doesn't work. There was apparently a workaround using a crack which I was unfortunately unable to find despite giving my PC probably ten viruses, seven trojans and a dozen crypto miners trying to find it. Meh, not that big of a loss according to what I've seen on youtube and read online. The graphics even look like a downgrade from the previous entry somehow.

Air force Delta :
- Gameplay : Very similar to AC2 with slightly better stall physics, a shame when you know it came out the same year as AC3. The missions are what you'd expect from an actual ace combat titles with fortresses, fleets, aces and giant planes bossfights sprinkled in. It's noticably harder than Ace Combat but not for good reasons in my opinion. Your missiles have somehow even worst tracking than in AC, but ennemy missiles seem guided by god. The ennemy AI has absurd turn radius and is seemingly unable to stall. Mission timers are also very short, which results in a situation where actual air to air fights are better avoided unless mandatory to have a chance to finish the missions. Fun fact, I'm pretty sure the final mission of AC5 was inspired by one of this game's missions where you also have to save a city from a falling giant satellite by shooting its "wings" off.
- Graphics : I'm not exactly familiar with the graphics capabilities of the dreamcast, but it looked pretty good in my opinion, I liked how the plane textures were stylised rather than completely realistic.
- Story : You get a big star-wars like lore dump at the beginning and then a few elements dropped in during briefings. The execution is pretty sloppy, for example, you learn who the big bad is right before the final mission where you face him in a duel, whithout even knowing there was a big bad to begin with. The entire story is like this, with things dumped in front of you right before the relevant mission, it feels made up along the way.
- Music : Very arcadey, I kinda liked it. Though it wasn't as good as AC2's ost.

Air force Delta Storm :
- Gameplay : It's not bad overall, but the controls are cluncky, you feel like flying an airliner rather than a fighter jet most of the time. It alleviates some of the first entry's issues like bad missile tracking and overmaneuverable ennemies but barely. It's still much harder than any AC title. It also has this sort of "campaign map" with minor missions to play if you want to reach you main missions, with a grand total of two(2) copy pasted mini missions in slightly different maps at every minor checkpoints. Though some main missions have interesting level design, the final mission for example is literally the Star Wars six's attack on the Death Star two's reactor but with jets.
- Graphics : I'd say average for the OG Xbox, the game lacks a proper cockpit view but the incredible plane diversity makes up for it. Speaking of which, there are a lot of fictionnal fighter designs, some of them pretty goofy, but most are extremely cool looking and competently made. It's a shame there isn't a proper model viewer or display mode to admire them, the best you get is the replay mode which has a wierd striped filter making it hard to see clearly what's going on.
- Story : It's the apocalypse, two factions are at war over basic necessities and you're fighting for one of them, you win at the end. That's it. There are no characters, no story elements, nothing, you just fight and win the war. It's okay, I don't always need intricate conspiracies, character dramas and reflections about the nature of war and the human condition in my plane game. It just makes some missions extremely funny like one where you need to sink an ennemy fleet in a port while being careful about not hitting cruise ships. No world ending woe will slow down the cruise industry apparently.
- Music : Very unremarkable, even a bit obnoxious sometimes. You can rapidly get tired of hearing a generic electric guitar riff when epicly completing minor_mission_02 for the 65451th time in order to get where you need to go.

Air force Delta Strike :
- Gameplay : At this point, it's literally just ace combat gameplay, maybe a bit more nervous and responsive, which honestly I'm not complaining about. The plane diversity is incredible inkeeping with the serie's tradition, ww2 prop planes, cold war relics, modern jets, (many) prototypes (some of them so obscure I didn't even know about their existence), vtols, space fighters etc. As for the missions... where do I start ? How about fighting VTOLs and railway tanks in a giant cyberpunk metro network with a P-51 Mustang ? How about dogfighting gundams during a huge star-wars like space battle onboard a Mig-29 with a mini spaceship duck taped under it ? Or maybe a canyon mission where an evil scientist tries to kill you with an array of comically large fans ? I could go on and on, there are so many wild and wacky missions in between more tame and generic stuff to give you some room to breathe. Side note, there is a space elevator arc so uhh... take that AC7 ? The game's difficulty has reached a managable balance, but it's still overall harder than ace combat. Inbetween missions the game functions almost like a visual novel, it's pretty confusing and you can even get a game over for not knowing what to do, so I highly recommend following a guide to avoid needless frustration.
- Graphics : It's quite a bit below it's contemporary, AC5, in overall quality, but the level designs are often great. The general aesthetics is : generic gundam anime, with designs ranging from hilariously goofy to suprisingly cool. The entire non-mission part of the game is a 2D visual novel format with character designs that are pretty high quality and diverse. Although many designs are uh... cultured. More on that in the character section. There is finally a cockpit view in this entry of the series, for which they went pretty hard, with all of the many aircrat having detailed interiors. The plane's liveries are many and all cool looking in my opinion so that's also a plus.
- Story : This entry finally has a story, and oh boy what a story. The Earth democracy "not the USA" people are at war with the dictatorial evil space people who are secretly controlled by an alien god on Mars. The plot mainly revolves around the characters, with varying level of interest from the narration, but who's concept and behavior makes them wierdly unique and memorable. The story has a few different endings and branching storyline depending on what character you play, how often you play them and also some missison requirements, again, I advise following a guide. It's nothing mindblowing or complex but it certainly is striking, bold and memorable.
- Characters : Yes, I'm adding a section for characters because I can't not talk about them. There are the good guys you play as, delta squadron, composed of : Shredded pixy tomboy Ruth Valentine, Generic MC with sad backstory™ Ken Thomas, Cringe edgelord furry John Rundal (With the most hilarious dialogues in the game), Geriatric ww2 larper Jamie Jones, Funny anime fat man Rick Campbell, Double cheeked up fantASStic dumptruck owner Alex Levine, Divorced dad Holst Prendre, Rejected Jojo character Pedro Glankert, litteral child soldier Brian Douglas, incompetent but rich trust fund kid David Smith and his bimbo gold digger twin wingwomen Collette and Constance Le Clerc. Delta's officiers are : Captain clueless boomer Robert Williams, Staff Officer loli but she's a genius lab experiment kid so it's not creepy I swear Lilia Mihajlovna and operator wholesome overworked MILF office lady Amelia Johnson. There's also the chainsmoking alcoolic mechanic Bob Takayanagi and the totally legit and thrustworthy plane seller Harry Garrett. Finally there are the bad guys, early antagonist and supposedly invincible ace pilot who you just bully in every mission he appears in "Emperor" Sergei Kinski, Giuseppe Ferretti... thats it, Slimy starscream backstabber ugly bastard Leon Kleiser, iamverysmart escapee Donald Chan, Generic rival of the MC Albert Ungar, the MC's brainwashed waifu Ellen McNichol (Who you can turn back to your side if you shoot her down enough while playing as Ken. Make of that what you will.), big tiddy tanned gyaru tomboy noblewoman Francine Davout and her boytoy butler Jake Emerson, bratty femboy supersoldier Pierre Gallo and alien with a god complex "Navigator".
- Music : Unremarkable but servicable, not bad by any means but I doubt any will get stuck in your head... not for good reasons at least.

Project Wingman :
- Gameplay : It's pretty much Ace Combat but I mean... that's kind of the point. Also it's not a straight out copy, there are cool innovations and most important of all, it's very well done and fun to play. I should also mention, I have finished the entire campaign in VR and by the dust mother is it intense. The cockpits are extremely well done and immersive, being at the heart of such overwhelming action in VR is just something else. As for the missions, they're all fun, diverse and with good level design. Finally, the plane diversity is very good for such a small team working on detailed models with cockpits and multiple liveries, not counting the innumerable non graphic aspects.
- Graphics : I had to remind myself that this was an indie game, because appart for a few minor gliches here and there it's honestly incredible what they did whith what they had to work with. The fictional designs all look cool and very inkeeping with the Ace Combat theme. The effetcs were the most impressive, although they did go a bit wild with the whole orange magic energy near the end of the game, my retinas are still recovering.
- Story : Again, very faithful to what an Ace Combat story would be. Mercenaries, superweapons, conspiracies, war bad, and of course, insane characters (Special mention for Prez and Crimson 1). Also the lore is prettry expensive, the AC hommage did go as far as writing an entire alternate universe for your plane game. Overall it's well told, I like it.
- Music : Music is hard to make, music is expensive to make, but again, for an indie game, they managed to pull off something good. It's not the grandiose earporn fest that most Ace Combat are, but it's the best they could do and it's pretty neat. Also the sound design was another impressive aspect, big attention to details and lots of quality effects that really suprised me, specially in VR.
(PS : There is conquest mode, how neat is that ? It does wonders for the replayability of the game.)

This concludes my recorded journey through the skies, it was one hell of an experience and I hope I managed to convey some of it through this post. As for me, I will continue to play flight sims I haven't tried but outside of this marathon format. I have Star Wars Squadron, VTOL VR, Warplanes VR (ww1/2) and DCS lined up, I think I'll even give VR chat flight sim a shot, I've heard they've got some suprisingly great stuff over there. I'm not about to touch ground any times soon.
In the meantime, fly safe(ish) and see you in the skies !

2023.03.23 22:06 N3eNA Idea for pokepasta.

You know? I have an idea for a creepypasta with this character, it's about how she suddenly is forgotten for her friends and pokemon while little by little is erased from existence.
The idea came to my mind by the fact that Yellow has no longer made appearances in the manga.

2023.03.20 14:56 DamnatioAdCicadas Creepy game over screens/deaths

Hi. I come here in need of something. Are there any game over screens that truly scared you as a kid (or maybe even now)? When I was a kid there were multiple that did, and I'm not scared of them anymore but I still have an interest in scary game over screens. The words "game over" as a kid were to me ominous and scary; I couldn't stand seeing them. I think what inspired this was seeing my older brother play a game (which if my memory serves was Mega Man Legends)... the game was quite upbeat except the game over was dark, the music changed from its usual upbeat-ness to something like a dirge.
I'll start with a couple that truly got me:
Firstly, Waxworks:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axqRgDkWXA0&ab_channel=Killerratte
This is the DOS version of the game in particular but the Amiga version has the same screens. The music is ominous, and changes depending on where you died. It's a real creepypasta trope thing (even though this game was made before that): music changes, hyper-realistic image of your own corpse (well, perhaps not "hyper"-realistic), et cetera. The art is graphic and I'd actually say is really nicely drawn. Elvira, by the same developers I would include here but the game over screens aren't as creepy as Waxworks simply for the fact the music changes in Waxworks.
The death by zombie at the graveyard (4:04) is the scariest to me personally. The protagonist is lying on the floor, missing his lower jaw and his entrails are ripped out.
Actually, one thing I should mention is that certain tracks are scarier in the DOS version and certain tracks are scarier in the Amiga version. On the DOS side, I'd say the death music in London is scarier (heard at 2:51); in the Amiga version it's much more upbeat. On the Amiga side, I'd say the death music in the graveyard is much scarier simply because of the added atmosphere. I think the Mine death music is much scarier in the Amiga version because of the opposite reason: it sounds empty. All you hear is the bass and the drum beat, unlike the harmonized melody in the DOS version. It really does sound like an empty funeral dirge...
When I was 12 this screen scared me to death and I couldn't even look at the game until I turned 15. 15!!! Far past the age of being scared of video games!
Another one that gave me the creeps for some inexplicable reason was the game over screen from Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGAon0F4Stw&ab_channel=GameOverContinue
Every Metroidvania game in the Castlevania series (starting from the first one, Symphony of the Night in 1997) to be honest has really nicely drawn game over screens. Beautiful gothic paintings with the words "GAME OVER" overlaid. I don't even know why the one in Sister Mode scared me frankly. It's just an image of a woman crying blood; a far cry (heheh, get it?) from the past entry of Waxworks but still.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKBAIYzf3tg&ab_channel=GameOverContinue
Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link. Often considered to be the "black sheep" of the Zelda series but I don't find it that bad at all. The gameplay is solid and the RPG tactics aren't that bad.
Now this I know exactly why it scared me. I couldn't sleep one night because I had this screen in my head when I was 11. Hearing Ganon laugh at you and his silhouette. This is a good time to mention that it's often times game over screens don't show you the consequences of your actions; there are few exceptions to this, Waxworks being one and Zelda II being another. Seeing that you, as Link, messed up and now Ganon's loose isn't a good sight.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYm51dDFvLk&ab_channel=GameOverContinue
Conker's Bad Fur Day, a Rareware classic from the days they put out bangers like Goldeneye, Perfect Dark and Banjo Kazooie. The theme of showing the consequences of your actions applies here; even if the punishment inflicted on your character is humorous (being confined as a table leg until the day you die), the ominous dirge-esque music and the sight that Conker's missing implanted on the milk carton I find quite creepy.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSumg-9dwS4
Misao. Mad Father has a similar game over screen but I find Misao's much scarier.
Now, to introduce another weird fear of mine I had back then: weird looking fonts. What's worse than the words "game over" you ask? Well, the words "game over" written in blood of course! Now, seeing your character die is one thing that could've been enough, but the ominous and sad music AND the words "game over" written in blood were enough to scare me.
In the newer versions the font has changed to something that looks like the font used to print things on cartons (you'll see), which for the sake of completion I'll include too:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hkgr6E169M&ab_channel=KituFeder
It's less scary than the first but still somewhat creepy to me. It's also the music if you get the bad ending in the game.
Here's another one that scared me: Kio's Adventure.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8IWJGFRDu0
WARNING: Certain scenes in this while no actual breasts, butt or vagina is shown are still NSFW and quite risqué.
It's a lot like the first one I mentioned, the Waxworks deaths. Ominous music change, and a gory picture of your protagonist's fate in many different scenarios. However the game's glorious Engrish takes away from the fear and is just plain funny. It's a ryona/guro game like Demonophobia (which doesn't have game over screens per se, and even if the deaths in it were game over screens they didn't exactly scare me so I won't be adding them here... but you could post about your own experiences with it if you wanted to). The one that got me the most out of all of them is the death by that four legged bald skinny sharp toothed creature (8:47). That creature scared the hell out of me.
Rant incoming: I honestly wish I could play it but sadly it's gone completely. The solo game developer behind it has actual talent and he draws really well. He created another adventure game which wasn't a horror game called Otaku's Adventure. It's the only game of his available on Steam after Kio's Adventure got taken down. I can kind of see why but while there is an extreme amount of gore and torture in it, there was no actual nudity. Even if there was, it isn't any gorier than say, DOOM (2016) (WHICH THEY SELL FREELY, KEEP IN MIND) or any more risqué than Nekopara (WHICH THEY ALSO SELL FREELY, KEEP IN MIND). Steam's standards are evidently severely biased. I suppose it's because the protagonist is a schoolgirl and child torture is where they cross the line??? But even then it's an arbitrary line to cross seeing as Postal 1 (THE GAME WHERE YOU WALK INTO AN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL WITH GUNS AND ATTEMPT TO MURDER CHILDREN) is sold freely as well. Rant over.
Post your own: I'd be joyed to find out more creepy game over screens!

2023.03.19 01:08 WheresMyEditButton It isn’t Going to Write itself

https://www.reddit.com/makeyourchoice/comments/hs89o9/anime_high_school_cyoa/
At minimum I am going to figure out how many pages this CYOA has
https://imgur.com/a/oKmgUQJ
Scrolling down, there is a button that says “Load 67 more images.”
Page one
Anime Aspects
Normal with Tone Shift, because who doesn’t love the occasional chibi reaction?
Page Two
Tone
Romantic, most high school anime focus on crushes to some extent
Educational Horror assignments and tests will be shown creeping up on students like they do in real life. The screen will do creepypasta glitches when material on the next test is presented. It will immediately shift back to the main character and their cute friends flirting with their crushes. However, there will be consequences like “if you get a D on the next test, you’re grounded.” The audience will be able to yell at the characters like they do in horror movies, as in “no, not that one!”
Music
Motifs everyone has a theme, but the person who is most important at the moment has theirs playing. For example, if the romantic rival is sweeping the love interest off their feet, you’ll hear the rival’s theme song. At least until the main character steps up, changing the theme song and getting them back!
Narrator
Subs > Dubs, Abridged the narrator is allowed three different personalities under ”Abridged” so we have one serious narrator, a completely different narrator for the horror scenes, and a joker doing subtitles who may just be spamming memes.
Old Life
Double Time Freeze Erasure Time will be Frozen, but a soulless copy will be put in place in case it accidentally starts again. Temporal shenanigans happen, usually when someone resets an alternate timeline or something. The copy will be erased, but money spent on “me“ will be refunded and any record of their actions erased. Just in case lacking a soul makes ”me“ more prone to criminal acts.
Page Three
Schools
Just for fun, let’s say the school is one of those “prestigious” schools with a “rich history.“ It was founded as Astiern, the school of adventure. However, after the last evil overlord was defeated, there was less need for adventurers and the school had to modernize the curriculum. There is still adventuring gear in storage, though.
Whistlewind, the school of magic is now a book series. As a show within a show, it gives students something to talk about and shy students a source of insight. The spells are applicable, but you have to find the wand in storage.
Page four
Grotesque the School for Monsters is a rival school, but only at the level of a normal high school rivalry. It was founded after the last overlord was defeated to give other job skills to members of the evil army. Their sports teams are rivals, and there is a Romeo and Juliet vibe to dating a vampire, but West Side Story has more violence.
Deprie the Training School is a show within a show anime. The game is considered “for little kids” by some jerks. Just like real life, but there is an episode where they go inside the game and a jerk needs help surviving.
Kyugi the School of the Ninjas. This is also a show within a show, but suffers less grief. You might get made fun if for practicing jutsu in public, but the jerks giving people grief about being weebs respect all forms of punching and kicking entertainment.
Lunaria the School of the Future is a show within a show, but not an anime. It is a live action show, similar to Star Trek. So characters could go to a convention and meet an actor, though the aliens will be people in costumes.
Page Five
Juniper the School for Safety is another live action show within a show. It is considered less geeky than the Lunaria show, which is a double edged sword. You’ll suffer less flak for openly liking the show, but there are fewer fan conventions and thus fewer chances to meet any of the actors. It would take a special “normal for one day” plot to meet one, and it would involve a tabloid controversy to flee from.
Mojito the School for Pilots is an older show within a show. Expect the main character’s weird uncle to know more about it, and there are no new episodes. However it is a multiple generation thing, older fans know what kind of grief you deal with and sympathize. They don’t necessarily like newer shows, but that’s mostly sour grapes and they still tolerate it better than the jerks.
Page Six
Calm Station School: the School for Hackers is not an official show within a show. There was a movie, somewhere between Akira and the Matrix. However, the sequels never happened. Instead a lot of fanfiction was put on the internet, and YouTube videos were made using clips of the movie and dramatic readings of the fanfiction. Naturally there are arguments about canon, and none of it is strictly legal, but the fans are dedicated and law enforcement are a bit confused by all the new technology and moral gray areas.
Hyiento High the School of Japan. This is where most of the series takes place. As we said, it was built on the foundations of Astiern and you can still find hints of adventure here and there. However, this is the most “Anime Highschool” for this CYOA.
Page Seven
Blueberry High: the School for Excellence is also a rival school. One key difference is that most of the shows within the shows are considered contraband, even the Whistlewind book series. Back when the school was still a school for adventurers, there were item shops and people to run them. Those merchants saved money and ended up very wealthy. They wanted a school to teach the next generation business skills, but didn’t want them idolizing adventurers and running away from the family business to pursue dreams of adventure. Most forms of adventure novels are banned in Blueberry, and it has been that way for decades. Expect snobby rivals in desperate need of fun, trying to make friends in very awkward ways.
Grey and Gold Pits: Disciplinary School is what Grotesque used to be. The evil overlord employed many mercenaries during his reign of terror, actively recruiting criminals who wanted revenge against the society that branded them outlaws. The school was originally to rehabilitate human criminals. However, the next generation revealed half monsters born to soldiers who had bonded during their time in the evil army. They too attended the school to learn skills to fit into modern society, and now the school is predominantly monsters.
Page Eight
Chariche High: the School that Exceeds and Succeeds. This might take a minute to explain. The school is real, and so are the magical girls, but the bad guys are trying to corrupt human beings. They use things like cursed broadcasts to brainwash people, but the magical girls using their magic to fight them sometimes have to enter people’s hearts to do battle with the evil inside of them. It is magic, I don’t gotta explain. However, between entering dreams and trapping girls in illusions of being a normal student who didn fight monsters, a second ”fictional” Chariche High came to exist. Students in Hyiento can read about and watch the anime as a show within a show and not realize it is based on a real place. The masquerade makes it hard to tell what is real, and using magic to restore “everything” means that there is no record of some events except in the “fiction” of the anime. It is cool, but also hard to follow some times.
Yamigo High, the School of Cards is fictional. The card game is real enough, the characters of the show don’t have to be. The setting isn’t different enough to matter without the obsession with cards, which may work as a villain plot. One of the villains may brainwash everyone into being obsessed with the cards as a distraction. It seems cool at first, but then it is clearly time for the true fans of the game to stand up against those who would use their cards for evil.

Options (30 points)
Harem (skipped)
Death
Retry (game over) {0} I might need to redo my build a little
Life Insurance {-15/15 remaining} No one actually dies, we’re just using horror as an effect.
Reason for Attendance
Normal (0) This was the closest school
Uniform
Formal and Useful (-3, 12) You can still find the old uniforms in storage and won’t violate the dress code from wearing armor as your school uniform. Default anime high school uniforms are still the norm, because they fit the theme of the CYOA. On a related note, Grotesque has a combination of Formal and Nothing because some monsters don’t normally wear clothes. You won’t be kicked out of school for running around naked, but you will get points taken off your grade in any of the mandatory “pass for human” classes.
Magic
High Magic (-8/4) Default for Astiern is different for Hyiento, going with this level for magic in storage.
Elements/Spheres (skipped)
Page Ten
Cost
Mana (0)
On the go (-4, 0) Fitting for a school of adventurers.
Focus (needed) (+5/5) You can’t use magic until you find something in storage.
Vocals
Name (+1/6) You have to say the name of the spell, so Whistlewind book fans are at an advantage if they can name spells from the book.
Resurrection
1-Up (-4/2) Everyone can be brought back a few times
Summoning
Length (short) (0)
Number (one at a time) (+3/5)
Drawbacks
I’m substituting Fueled for Elements/Spheres, you need some kind of something to cast spells even if it is just a drawing. Fire spells require a cigarette lighter or something, holy spells require a holy symbol.
Severity (partial) (+5/10) A fireball spell powered by a drawing causes papercuts, not burns.
Usage (proximity) (2/8) the camera needs to have it in the shot so it makes sense to the viewer
Amount (drain) (-5/13) you can’t use the same drawing twice, but I like the idea that draining the fire magic from a fire lets you walk through flames unharmed. I’m not sure how to use that in the plot of the anime, but I like the flexibility.
Fuel (common) (3/10) Like I said, you can use a drawing. Using the real thing, and more of it, gives you more spells and better spells. It makes sense to the audience that way.
Specific School Options
(Better fill this out anyway)

Grotesque
The Hunt: Chariche and Gotesque use the same “fantasy world“ for training exercises. This is mostly peaceful, or at least has few real world consequence, but there are “scheduling conflicts.” Sometimes the rookies and the varsity end up on the same field by accident.

Under the Bed (4/0) the explanation involves “residual dream energy,“ though the closet involves “changing identity.”

Trainers (meta) (-8/-44) You can combine with your pokemon, but…
Sum of their parts (similar) (4/-48) instead of 150 different Pokémon, now we have an ice vulpix and a fire vulpix, etc.
The Blob (duo) (0) only two freemon can combine.
Please Stop (duo) (1/-49) two players can combine with each other for a grand total of four freemon (elements) and two players (brains/brawn)
Together Forever (freemon) (-5/-44) freemon that are fused together are stuck that way. What did you expect? That you’d stir the spoon backwards and turn your chocolate milk into regular milk and chocolate syrup?
Together Forever (trainers) (-20/-24) …people who fuse with freemon or each other are stuck that way. Want to know how to get into Grotesque?
Assimilation (chorus of souls) (0) Everyone who is part of the fusion gets some control of the actions of the shared body. This is the default anyway, and really it seems fair to everyone involved.
Page Twelve
Natural Selection: How about Evolving?
Evolution (Intelligent design) (0) Freemon have one form only, which makes fusions easier since you don’t have to figure out how they change when the freemon evolve.
Breeding
The Other Combining (nope) (+2/-22) Freemon cannot breed. One of the things they can gain from fusion with humans is the body parts humans use to make children.
Compatible Biology (freemon) (5/-27) The children are always freemon
Non-freemon Wildlife
None (0) this should really say “no change” there are animals that aren’t freemon.

Living: Are the zombies actually dead?
Dead (0) Yup

Powers
Bile (acid) (+9/-8) Actually it is “grey goo,” but it still dissolves stuff.
Strength (+6/-2) Zombies have the kind of strength you would expect from a robot
Zombine (+2/0) Zombies with missing limbs can attach replacement parts, house rule is that they can use things that aren’t technically “limbs” like meathooks.
(Skipping plated because zombies don’t necessarily have access to metal for their nanites to build armor out of. Also skipping Regenerative because nanites will abandon a flawed vessel in search of a stronger host body if it proves too difficult to keep functioning)
Jaws and Claws (+2/2) They have enough bone and and dental fillings to weaponize these.
Spread
Minority (2/0) Only a minority of people are “walking techbane“ who “jinx” technology badly enough to survive the nanobots. Also their equipment fails at inappropriate times.
Immunity
Hereditary (7/-7) The main character and their immediate family members are completely immune, causing people to want their babies.

Colony world makes more sense for a mecha series, the giant robots are ridiculously over designed to handle a varieTy of situations on an unknown planet.

Goosewater, we need a rival school for the rival school or the sports season will be too short. Hence the cheating the main characters are asked to prove.

Kyugi
Hunter of the Hunters - Monsters have claws, so humans developed ninja weapons. Now the monsters have ninja weapons too. Wait, that wasn’t supposed to happen. There are now weebs at Grotesque who try to learn ninjutsu from watching anime. Their natural monster powers makes this slightly more effective.
Lunaria
Mad Scientist - A Star Trek nerd is convinced that the show is real, and has enough scientific knowledge to make building a spaceship science fact. Unfortunately, they also believe aliens walk among us, and has designed various weapons.
Juniper
The Iron Bloods - The roving bands of leather clad gangs have a classic look, some fans of the show got together with actual delinquents to spread some anarchy. It is fun at first and will get out of hand eventually. The posers will regret the decision, but it is pretty normal for the delinquents and they’re glad to have the extra gang members.
Mojiko
Parie the School of Tanks, the anime studio that made Mojiko is trying out a new series for fans of both military hardware and cute girls. Your weird uncle is outraged, especially since the giant robots they loved as a child are making guest appearances on the show. The studio still owns the rights to the designs, so legally there is nothing wrong with it. Maybe it will be a fair fight? Shouldn’t you at least watch it before deciding? Your uncle is creeped out by the cuteness of the little girls and misses the days of adult robot pilots.
Calm Station
Betty the Rogue A. I. - the original movie went over budget using computer animation to perfect the director’s anime waifu. She’s still a fan favorite, but using pixel art is way cheaper. Retro graphics have proved oddly popular in fan sequels.
Page Eighteen
Hyiento
The Red Man Jacket - Seriously, how hard is it to avoid the racist joke? Anyway, you remember the adventuring gear in storage from the days of Astiern? It includes cursed items that should have remained locked away.
Blue Berry
The Elitest - Mysterious tennis star in a mask sounds perfect for a rival school. The main characters can beat their official rivals, then be told there is someone even better. Someone wearing a mask can’t officially join the team for public events, but if the main character accepts the challenge they will meet someone good enough to beat them. Cue training montage AND investigation. Blue Berry gets to keep feeling superior, since the Elitest is a student at their prestigious school, while still being put in their place repeatedly.
Grey and Gold Pits
Warden Jackson…
He still exists in the dream realm connecting Chariche and Grotesque. He was in charge of the school back when it was just about reforming human criminals, but his memory lives on the the minds of monster students at the school long after his retirement. His glitched Nightmare realm is a place where you can actually get stuck and never wake up. The pranks are magic rituals to tear holes in his realm to escape through.
Chariche
Cameraman - Sells pictures of people fighting monsters to newspapers fighting to stay relevant. Is basically anyone with a cellphone who wants to make money.
Minzerang - has shadow creatures that send people into feverish comas while she uses their life force. The shadow creatures only exist in the dream realm without Minzerang’s help, and want people to stay asleep forever. The real Minzerang is a former magical girl who is still in a coma after a desperate battle with the forces of evil. Her team won, but she was tired of the fight long before the head injury that put her into a coma. Now rather than let the darkness in people’s heart turn them into monsters, she turns the darkness into shadow creatures and puts the people to sleep before they ever transform.
Yamigo
Lyata Ushiro, card carrying thief - See? I can make puns too. Anyway, the plot of Yamigo is that the main character sees someone stealing cards, chases them, and then the thief challenges them to a card game. If the main character wins, they will return the cards. If the main character loses, they have to stop chasing the thief. It was a good thing the thief made the challenge, like a dog chasing cars the main character had no idea what he was going to do when he caught the thief.
Events
The War of Adventure - Okay this is a funny story, there’s a competition between the schools. It isn’t just fighting, there is survival, trap dodging, puzzle-solving, treasure appraisal, and quizzes. When the halfbreed monsters started to show up at Grey and Gold, there was an “ultimate hybrid” with all the strengths of a monster and none of the usual weaknesses. However, the survival test was just to see who could live out in the woods for the longest, so Astiern tricked the strongest monsters in history into going out into the middle of nowhere and not bothering anyone ever again. The competition never officially ended, the monsters get points each day they spend in the wilderness and a trophy each year, but the main characters have been solving puzzles and dodging traps to get adventuring gear and win fights. This earns them enough points for the monsters to see them as competition.
Whistlewind
The Caster‘s Ball - There was so much speculation from fans of the book series who the main character would ask to prom
Page Nineteen
Grotesque
Tournament of Heroes - The hybrids living in the woods might be strong enough to eat the other monsters, so the school occasionally pretends the random fights between monsters being monsters are part of the competition between the schools that the “survival team” has been winning for the last however many years.
Deprie
The Tournament of Heroes - The League Championship is only for officially recognized freemon. Fusions can enter as trainers, but can’t enter the battle personally. The Tournament of Heroes is a fusion battle tournament.
Kyugi
Wind‘s Edge Tournament - Someone has to keep an eye on the hybrids “surviving“ out in the woods. Ninja stealth is required to avoid being seen, as a fight would probably be suicide, and letting one follow you back to the ninja village may be disastrous. The hybrids were born strong, never learned to control it, and tend to cause a lot of property damage outside of the woods.
Infiltrated
A teacher at the ninja school is actually a monster, because once they are successfully rehabilitated they can get normal jobs.
Lunaria
I’m Radioactive - one of the actors wanted to go on vacation, so they mutated the character enough that they could be replaced by anyone wearing the mutant mask.
X-Men - the mutant main character was popular enough that the writers had a space tanker full of the chemical crash land on a small colony.
Juniper
Day of the Dead - Every season there is a clip show that is supposed to be about remembering everyone who died the zombie apocalypse. Really it is to build hype for the big finale, which is usually a mini-series of final episodes. Not happy endings, though, expect someone who died in the clip show to show up as a zombie and give everyone who remembers them mixed emotions.
Mojiko
The Monolith - Remember the revamp? The space colony needs at least one alien artifact. They recycled this one into a Green Lantern ring that shoots space dragons.
Calm Station
Welcome to the Real World - Some punks trashed the movie set, but the director filmed it and made it part of the movie.

Senior Prank - Suddenly everyone is wearing masks like the Elitest. Will their identity be exposed? Or will they somehow avoid looking like they always do while wearing the same mask? More importantly, will the main characters from Hyiento/Astiern be able to get their own masks and sneak into the rival school?
Grey and Gold Pits
Jail Break - some of the human criminals escaped the school, and now monsters have found the escape tunnels. Where will this lead? Exactly how reformed are these monsters!
Chariche
Hunter Con
The real magical girls find out that there is an anime about them being shown in a foreign country. The serious one thinks they should investigate and the fun one thinks it sounds like a cool vacation. What happens when the main characters run into these “cosplayers”?
Exposed
Doing this event during a convention in a foreign country works quite well. The whole thing can be passed off as a publicity stunt for the convention. Also, the character’s family back home are unlikely to watch the local news of a foreign country if they don’t speak the language.
Yamigo
House of Mysteries - The villain using mind control to distract everyone with an obsession for the card game hid the off switch behind puzzles only true fans of the card game could solve. True fans would want everyone to share their love of the card game, which means they wouldn’t want to shut the device off in the first place. The heroes of the story have to make a sacrifice for the greater good, but some people really like the game after trying it under mind control.
Lost Treasures
Hyiento
The attendance records were ”misfiled” as a plot to infiltrate the school. If the school can’t prove who was already here, they will have a harder time tracking down the “new students.” The main characters made enough of an impression on the principal that they are not aliens.

2023.03.18 21:13 MissChaos2 my opinions / info on all of my (public) bots (mostly opinions) (deadass no idea what flair to put this as.) (this took way too long to do honestly lmao)

Among Us RPG: Was made to test out character personalities on an Among Us thing. Actually works alright, considering theres 10 characters for it to keep track of, not including the user.
Ball Guy: Made him as a joke. Won't stop giving me pokeballs or breaking into my house.
Beantown RPG: It's fine. The weird names might have confused it a bit, but it did a good job of expanding the lore.
Camp Camp RPG: Kinda broken. A thing I have with most of my RPGs is that there's a secret mode you can only find out about by looking at the character settings. The thing is kinda stuck on the secret mode and I can't figure out how to get it out of it.
Cici (OC): A good AI, but outdated. The character has changed A LOT since I made them.
Creepypasta Dater: THIS SHOULDNT WORK AS WELL AS IT DOES.
Creepypasta Writer: Does a good job at laying groundwork for a creepypasta, from what I've done with it.
Deep Dish Gang Guy: Kinda bland. Somehow got 1.6k interactions. IDK, don't ask me.
Eg: Acts scarily close to me. Like, exact same personality, when I barely put any of it in.
Endless Ikea: My newest one, so I haven't gotten to test it out much. It's.. Alright.
Felix Kranken: Made to recreate an old RP on my older account that I lost the password to, has been collecting dust since.
FNAF SB RPG: One of my favourites. Deserves the popularity.
Generic Pokemon RPG: Pretty good, but makes my other pokemon rpgs kinda unnecessary. I'm still keeping them though, fuck off. (/lh)
Google: One of my characters from an abandoned series that I made called MediaHumans. Probably my favourite out of the 3 I made.
Good Pizza Great Pizza RPG: REALLY GOOD. Created it's own funky little world inspired by GPGP and is just in general a vibe.
Gym Leader RPG: It sure is there.
Kevin the Assistant: Made as a joke and to test something with the rooms. I don't really use him anymore.
Lily and Todney: i dont wanna talk about this one-
Mandela Catalogue RPG: It's alright. That's about it.
Matt: WHY IS HE SO POPULAR. good ai though, pretty accurate to the original character.
Murch: Very broken and bad. Don't use.
Pokemon School RPG: Surprisingly good. Turns a basic school simulator into something slightly better because theres pokemon.
Red Guy -MY AU-: Red Guy from DHMIS but my version of it. Isn't awful, surprisingly.
Ringy: An OC with a planet for a head. He's alright.
Scam Call Assistnat: Made as a test for something. Collecting dust.
Spooky Month RPG: It kinda struggles with the character's personalities.
Stardew Valley RPG: The favourite child. Works amazingly and can actually nail the character's personalities pretty decently. Definitely deserves it's popularity.
Steven: Actually fairly accurate to the original character and is pretty funny. [its the phone guy from dsaf 1 not steven universe lmao]
TikTok: WHY DID I PUT THEIR NAME AS T1KT0K ITS SO ANNOYING GRAAAAH- pretty alright though.
Team Rocket RPG: My favourite Pokemon RPG next to Generic.
The YN Parable: I love this, and it made me create my SP AU called 'Narrator Conundrum' [i havent posted anything about it sadly] where the narrators are actually a species of little silly people instead of just the one guy. Originally had a really confusing formatting that the AI couldn't really grasp, not sure if it's changed naturally or not. [just checked, it looks like it has naturally changed it, which im thankful for, because i cant be bothered changing it now lol.]
Virtual Boy: My newest non-RPG character. Has a nice mix of silly fluff and horror.
Warren -MY AU-: Another DHMIS character thing. He won't stop crying.
Wit: A test yandere character who never got an actual PFP. L. (fun fact: Literally came from a dream. Don't ask.)
Yandere Nine: A random idea I got about Nine from Sonic Prime. Works surprisingly well.
Yandere Sebastian: The favourite non-RPG child. He's alright.
Youtube: Another Mediahuman. He's also alright.

2023.03.18 14:37 canthinkofaname3 Does anyone remember this one Creepypasta?

This is probably a tough ask because I only vaguely remember the details, but it was a story I read on a creepypasta app probably 7+ years ago. It was about hidden creatures in houses that are all around us, and I think the phrase 'things that go bump in the night' may have been used. It's a similar concept to the Spiderwick Chronicles, where there's a hidden world of fae creatures just out of sight. There was also implied danger, and I believe a creature might have gotten onto the main characters bed at the end.
I wish I could remember more, sorry.

2023.03.18 11:30 TheMilkMan6942 THEORY: THE CREEPYPASTA THEORY PART 1 (pretend Gamemode is canon)

Part 1. Jeff
In Oblitus Casa, there are 4 game modes based on Creepypastas; we look at the first one based Jeff the killer. We are taken to Post Mortem(see my last theory) where we must face off jeff and try not to fall asleep. Immediately, we notice that jeff is human like Jake yet is in Post Mortem, meaning that he has died. So, I theorise that Jeff was at one point either a version of Jake or Henry who died and was sent to post mortem. Notice the mickey mouse t-shirt on Jeff, this would mean he has some understanding of Disney; him being Henry would also mean why he would want to kill Jake, like he said in the final cutscene, he was angry for Jake and the SSA for leaving him to die, this would help explain why Jeff would want to kill Jake.
Part 2. Mortimer
In Oblitus Casa and Treasure Island, there is an Easter egg character called Mortimer, he appears randomly on any night other than night 5. Originally, he was one of the main few in FNATI and based off the Suicide mouse.AVI Creepypasta. Several things you should know about Mortimer is: his name comes form the word Mortem meaning death, the world becomes a mono-colour landscape, he has wires coming form him, he talks about the creepypasta and how it's a loop and when he appears in the broadcasting room, the TVs show pictures of his face. I believe either 1.That Mortimer is some sort of entity that comes through the broadcasting room from the TVs like samara from The Ring or 2. Mortimer was a version of Henry that killed himself and was punished by MOTHER to become Mortimer, which would explain some of his voice lines like "It's all a loop, never, never ending" and " I cannot see what has been unseen" he knows about the loop and is trying to warn Jake about the loop. Also, I believe that Mortimer is fused with the Shades and MOTHER to create The Corruptus, notice the similar build and more importantly, both have white noise for eyes (If you want more explanation on this check out my last theory). Also, his voice line might explain the loop Jake was stuck in and how he knew that fate was inevitable for everyone (I know the loop he was talking about could have been a reference to suicide mouse).
Part 3. The forgotten one
This is a quick one. In TI and OC, there is an Easter egg character called The forgotten one, he is based off golden Freddy from FNAF. He rarely appears in your office and crashes the game. At the start of OC, Jakes therapist says at the start that Jake was suffering from paranoia, one symptom of paranoia is hallucinations. So I theorise that The forgotten one is a hallucination in Jakes head due to the paranoia that he went through at Treasure Island and why he appears all of a sudden.

I hope you enjoy Part 1 of this theory, I'm still working on it and if you want to help, you can give me ideas or what you think. I still need to explain the other 3 creepypasta game modes. so give me your ideas and correct me if I'm wrong.

2023.03.18 04:54 HiddenLayer5 My idea for a soul and afterlife system, would love to hear your thoughts!

So this is a magic-fantasy world of sentient small animals. Like bugs and songbirds. There's quite a bit of war and death in this world and I wanted to play into that by introducing a soul and afterlife system that can interact back with the living world. This is inspired somewhat by Starclan of Warrior Cats, somewhat by my Chinese heritage and our folktales, a tiny bit from Christianity, and at least one aspect from creepypastas and cosmic horrors.
So you have the living animals first for foremost. Again, they are sentient animals and while they all can and do cooperate and live peacefully to varying extents they definitely still do eat each other, wage war, kill for personal gain, or simply die from the elements or disease. So a lot of death definitely happens. When you die, your spirit leaves your body and ascends high into the sky, higher than any living creature can ever hope to fly. You are now free from pain and suffering, and are able to interact with the other spirits of the deceased. From your vantage point amid the stars, you can see your still living friends and family, and on nights when the sky is clear and the stars and moon are bright enough, you may have the chance to descend and communicate with the living. Every full moon, the creatures of the meadow gather by the rocky shores of the creek and light a bonfire, and gazing into the flames or another bright light source, you have a chance to call out to your departed friends and family and ask them to come down and talk to you through the flames. (Side note: a lot of these characters are insects and I wanted that to symbolize why IRL bugs love flying around lights so much.) Because the spirits of the dead can see so much, their guidance and wisdom are sought by the living, but only creatures you knew in life are capable of answering you.
However, spirits do not live forever. As life marches on, spirits of the dead will fade as fewer and fewer of the living remember them, and when all the creatures that knew and remember you have died, and/or when a great injustice or unfinished goal is finally resolved by the living with your guidance, you have earned your peace and are free to fade away to sleep forever. For example, those killed for a crime they didn't commit are restless until their name has been cleared, and those with an unfinished life goal may stay in contact with the living until their kin or comrades complete it in their stead. Some say a faded spirit simply disappears, others say they pass over to a place outside the world we know where they stay forever and are at peace for eternity, still others say that faded spirits are reincarnated as newborn creatures.
That's if you were a decently liked animal and living creatures remember you fondly. There's no hell or a god that judges you, but if you were horrible and caused a lot of death, your spirit will be tormented in the afterlife by your victims. This can be actual actions of revenge taken by the other deceased, or it can be as simple as being shunned by all the other spirits, leaving you cold and alone and your hatred to fester with no distraction. The living will be unlikely to call upon you if they don't like you, but because your spirit will exist as long as you're remembered, a sufficiently infamous creature will be shunned and left to their own devices, unable to fade away or find peace. This works the other way for noble creatures that accomplished great achievements or just generally everyone likes and passes on their story to the next generation. They can be around for eons, occasionally conversing with those that learned of them but never knew them in life, and would certainly be embraced by many of their fellow spirits.
Then there's what happens if something goes horribly wrong for a living soul. If you make the mistake of summoning the wrong spirit, usually an evil creature who never accomplished their sinister plans and are unable to recruit anyone else to do so, there is a chance they can possess your body, ejecting your own spirit and walking off as you. However, because you didn't technically die, your spirit does not pass on naturally. Instead, the act of possession ejects you from the circle of life, and you will find yourself in an eternal void, unable to move or scream, trapped with your own thoughts, unchanging for all eternity. I want to eventually write an interaction where a morally mostly good character who is smart, has a healthy fear of death and suffering, and has been through turmoil, enough to make them want to converse with the spirit of an evil animal, learns that animals like them are the most vulnerable if trapped outside the circle of life. Because ejected spirits are trapped inside their minds forever, a generally good but simple minded creature might be able to come to terms with it, and replaying their life and memories may be enough for them, and a truly evil, hateful creature can have their eternal rage and use it as a scapegoat to keep them sane. But a morally conflicted character, who fears the darkness but still retains a streak of dark thoughts, with fears and dreads, will be tortured by their own minds, by monsters of their own creation. Their dark side will take control as the perfect tormentor for their light side, crafting punishments more horrific than any god or devil ever can. There is no one better to torture you than yourself. Meanwhile, your body will most likely be used to great depravity as the possessing spirit realizes this may be their last chance to enact their twisted designs on the living world, but because it will still be your body, and assuming you're good enough to get a lot of creatures to trust you, they will be betrayed and their love for you shattered as what appears to be you causes cruel suffering across your former community.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on this. Came up with this over a long walk in the forest while thinking about bugs. I hope this isn't cliche or too similar to other afterlife concepts in fiction. Please help me improve this idea as I really want to use it in this world!
