Hi All, I bought the Steam Deck to play Football Manager on the go and its great, however, it can slow down after a few seasons with multiple leagues. The Decks trackpads are made for games like this, so I was wondering if any one whos received the Deck has played FM and how it works with the sticks on the Ally?
The Ally's CPU seems to be more powerful as well which is likely to help with FM.

Hello,
Recently I acquired LOZ: TPHD and its update for Cemu, running through EmuDeck. Originally, the game wouldn’t launch from Steam mode (it would briefly boot and then crash back to steam) but WOULD launch fine within Cemu. Odd.
To fix this, I changed the launch options in Steam Properties for the game to the [Game] file path instead of the path to the [Update]. This fixed the issue and I can now play the game from steam!
My question now: is the version I am now running from steam not updated? Is the update even necessary to enjoy the experience, or are there some game-breaking bugs I don’t know about? Should I just go back to the original file path and launch from Cemu?

I know sometimes rioters come across random reddit posts so I am posting here in hopes that one of them witnesses my rage and passes my Curse along to whichever one of their colleagues had the bright idea to nerf guardian angel. I have had it up to here (imagine me extending my arms and holding my hands out wide to show how far I've had it) with you, "riot games".
Before I begin my Curse, let me preface this with saying I've heard the rumors; the Corporate Gods at riot really don't give a shit about runeterra as a whole, much less the spinoff pve mode within it. I figure you guys are working with like, four people and a budget of three canadian dollars. I figure the only thing keeping PoC going is the sheer passion those four devs have for the mode and for the community of players who enjoy said mode. So it is with the same passion for this game that I CURSE YOU!!!!
While I am known for my prowess in PVP, I am also a powerful path of champions lover. When I spend my hard earned cash on this game, it is only because of PoC and the PoC related rewards in the battle pass, etc. So don't get me wrong- I'm not a hater, but a lover. Yet I am also a fighter. And I am appalled by the sheer audacity you must have to NERF GUARDIAN ANGEL, right before my eyes. Who cares if Leblanc creates infinite Leblancs?! Do you think the ASOL BOT cares?! NO!!! IT IS A COMPUTER!!! It would be one thing if PoC got consistent balance changes across the board, but it DOESNT. Ornn is still laughably terrible, Nasus is just an unplayable joke who LITERALLY doesn't work more often than not, there is still random ass phantom prankster in half the shadow isles decks for no reason, and while we're here- VI's powers and deck (while not terrible) are kinda baffling. So this game is NEVER balanced in order to make Shit Content less shit, which I could easily excuse as devs focusing on moving forward with new stuff, but all of a sudden you guys have infinite time when it comes to NERFING good content to make it shit?! Who the fuck came into work one day and was like, "you know what? guardian angel has really been fucking up the PoC bot and it's really getting on my nerves. let's nerf it."
Nerfing fun things makes no sense in the gamemode that's all about finding the funniest most broken combos possible! Frankly, it's not like this gamemode is difficult or competitive in the first place. There are several characters who quite literally cannot lose no matter what handicaps you throw at them. So lets talk about what I've cut and what I've kept and what I've changed.
First off, predation is an absolute cut. The pay off of deal 2 damage just isn't good enough anymore. Even when you meet the condition to make it free, it just doesn't feel that strong. When you have it sitting in hand with no naga it just feels awful. I don't like it, I cut it, the deck performs better for it.
Added, through the fel and the flames. This card is absolutely bonkers. There is almost no situation where this feels bad at all. Even drawn super early it can usually enable some kind of value trade that allows it to go one for one, which is really all you can ask of a card. Given it can both buff and activate s'teno, this card is an easy inclusion would strongly recommend.
Kept, dispose of the evidence. I hear people are cutting this card, which is bonkers to me. Yes it feels bad to draw early and be down a card, but honestly there are some matchups (Frost DK), where this isn't even remotely the end of the world. It is so crucial to winning late, I'd never dream of cutting it. It is a frustrating card, but a powerful one
Cut, one rush the stage. Credit Luna over on twitch for this one, it is the first place I saw this and I whole heartedly agree. You only have 6 rush minions in the deck, two of which you almost always keep off the mulligan (fierce outsider). Rush the stage is way too often a draw one or a completely dead card. You don't even really want it until the midgame anyways, a one of is the right number.
Experimented with and cut. Wrathscale Naga. Just not a fan of this card at all. It looks great on paper, till you realize the dream of trading those 1/1 rushers in for face damage doesn't really happen that often, because you have to have opposing minions to trade into to kill your minions. Above and beyond that, it is very RNGy and I'd rather have more ways of cycles through my deck. Best case scenario you go from way behind to roughly even on board, then you give them a whole new turn to develop. This card just doesn't work.
Added Spectral Sight, there is no question this card is important. There are so many times you're cycling through your deck for the Halveria, glaivetar or dispose of the evidence. Having this card is an instant reload and it allows you to more confidently and fully commit to your early board, knowing that at any point you have a reload.
Kept, hawkstrider. This card is just too good. Critical for most control matchups and a great win more card to lock out a board based opponent that fell behind.
Cut, Pozzik. Hot take, but Pozzik just isn't that good folks. He is a 5/4 for 4 mana and if you don't play him exactly on 4, then he is fairly easy for most decks to deal with. Even worse, there are times you can't play him at all, because he is a vanilla 5/4, they can trade into him after they develop both bots. Maybe he works in other aggro decks, but not this one. Major cut.
Here are my combined stats for the past two days since the meta changes.
Overall 50-28 since the miniset dropped.
DK 15-15, Blood is very much unfavored, if they have blood boil by turn 5, it is gonna be rough. That said, frost actually feels favored for you. Yes that strikes against common wisdom, but you have incredibly explosive starts and all you need to do if whack their face enough to be able to kill them over the top with glaivetar and dispose of the evidence. Try to find a way to stick a wretched outcast or hold a walloper going into their turn 7, that way you're not getting 5+5+5+10 from double frostworm fury and losing a game you absolutely dominated the board on.

Hunter 2-1 Rip Hunter
mage 2-2 Mage is annoying, the fact there aren't that many of these is a god send, this feels like it could be a bad matchup.
Paladin 6-1 Your tools vs paladin are just so strong.
Priest 9-0 Control priest feels like it should be hard, but you always just seem to get there. Shadow is heavily favored for you. It's one of the few matchups you really need to prioritize your own health total though, as they damn do they hurt.
Rogue 2-1
Shaman 0-1
Warlock 2-1
Warrior 5-4. Every flavor of warrior feels winnable. Hawkstriders are key here to avoiding that annoying enrage warrior aoe. You'll come on line quicker than they will, but you have to respect their potential. Focus on building durable boards, and for the love of god keep those hawkstiders off the mulligan.

Hey all, I just recently installed windows 10 on my steam deck and am wondering how to get an external controller (PS5) to work with games.
I'm able to connect it via Bluetooth but games are not detecting it. I want to use it so I can dock my deck & play from my couch. Thanks!

ISSUE:
Today, the update for mac support came out. As a result I noticed the steam deck was completely incapable of playing it. Meanwhile my Linux PC was able to play it, though with decreased performance than normal (FPS drops), but it did crash when flipping through UI menus.
RELATED INFO:

FIX:
Currently I have not found a fix for the crash on the SD. But I am able to play it on my linux pc, though performance has more or less degraded. I've noted frame drops, stutters and 1 crash while quickly opening and closing different UI menus.
CONCLUSION:
Its worth noting that I vaguely remember that there exists a way to play different versions of the game through Steam, this could be a temporary fix. For those of you who know how to do this, I'd love a source.

Context: I’m finally able to afford my first console and I’m wondering which one should I buy. I grew up on PlayStation and all my favorite games are on the ps5. But in September I’m traveling over seas for a year. I know I won’t be able to travel with the ps5. So I started to look at handhelds and holly hell the steam deck looks awesome. I’ve never had a pc, and I’m not familiar with steam/valve, but the posibilites seem endless. My heart says ps5 but my brain says SteamDeck. Which one would you pick, and if I pick the steam deck, should I go 64g and upgrade the ssd? Or 512?

I've been researching and watching so many different videos that I thought I'd ask here!
I've been considering making my steam deck my main PC station / gaming station until I move. My actual PC uses a ultra wide 120hz monitor. The main part of this is in the title. Amazon, other websites and steam all have Dock options. All with such mixed and varied reviews. Anyone have some input to help me make my decision?

I purchased on the PS5 for the big screen experience in the lounge. Would have loved to play this in the office as well on my gaming laptop as well as Steam Deck. But the fact that my unlockables, rank and DLC won't be shared across PC version is lame. I only bought the PS5 version and would have double dipped just like I did for Diablo 4 which has cross progression. These online focused games should all have cross progression, Capcom even have the setup to do this with CFN.

Disclaimer before I get going here that this is going to be long and verbose, because that's what I found to be the most helpful in my own research. I've labelled various sections to hopefully make this more digestible.

Preamble

When I started the long journey of pursuing GRS in February last year, I made extensive use of community resources to learn about the various procedures, surgeons, and methods out there. After narrowing down my choice to GRS Montreal, I continued browsing resources to learn about their team and what to expect. This was a huge help in soothing my anxieties and curiosities about surgery, and so as I am now nearly at the finish line, it feels right to give back to the community and share my experience.
In this first post, I hope to share what the process looks like as an Ontarian in the time leading up to surgery.

Beginning the process, February 2022

I am very fortunate to have a clinic in my city with a dedicated trans health care team that knows their stuff. Because of this, there was very little confusion in the application process. The first step would be to acquire provincial funding through OHIP; there are various requirements for this that you can look up, but I met all of them at the time. That being said, they were concerned that because I had an involuntary hospitalization last November, my mental health might disqualify me for funding, even though I was mentally in one of the best places I'd ever been by that February (new antidepressants that actually worked, started my path towards education again -- overall things were looking fantastic for me at this point). I was able to connect my psychologist with them to sort this concern out, but it was a very scary learning experience: you have to be in a good mental state for them to be satisfied to proceed with funding. There's probably something to be said about how messed up it is that dysphoria-induced suicidal thoughts can disqualify you from a surgery that resolves that dysphoria, but that's for another post.
By the end of March 2022, my application for provincial funding for OHIP was received by the Ontario Ministry of Health. Little did I know that this was going to take a while.

A really, really long time of waiting, March - October 2022

As is often the case with the Ontario health care system, OHIP applications for surgery funding were severely backed up in the wake of the pandemic. I'm not gonna sugarcoat it, this wait was brutal, and if you go to transontario posts from around this time you'll see a whole bunch of people stuck in the same boat where they were waiting nearly a year for the government just to respond to their funding applications. I frequently sent emails to the SRS program (you can reach them at [email protected]) asking about the status of my application, which ultimately wasn't super helpful, but they did tell me which months of the backlog they were working through at least. My application was eventually approved September 26th, 2022, but I wasn't told by anyone until I inquired again with the Ministry in mid-October. The good news is that this part of the process has seemingly improved quite a bit from when I had to do it. Applications seem to be approved in 4-6 months now, significantly more palatable than the 9-12 months that was often seen.
My advice for this part: once your application is in, try to put it to the back of your mind as best you can. Don't obsess over it like I did. Time passed fastest when I was just living my life, not constantly checking reddit and emailing the Ministry for updates. Only send emails once it feels like you should've gotten an update.

I Can't Believe It's More Waiting, October 2022 - April 2023

Before I get started here, I have to stress this was not Montreal's fault and was entirely caused by my own mismanaged expectations.
If you thought you were close to the finish line, bad news, bucko. You now get to wait on the preoperative team at GRS Montreal to evaluate your file. Once they've received your OHIP approval, they'll contact you to let you know that you have to send them a bunch of additional documents. These include:

• A health status form that has to be filled out by you and signed by a doctor
• An ID and preoperative questionnaire
• A consent form for use of images (NOTE: This is probably where a lot of the "NDA" misinformation comes from. This is basically them just asking if they can use pictures of your surgery results to show prospective patients [only people who are already approved, not randoms] and for the purpose of improving the procedure. You can decline this with zero problems, I said yes to it since I don't think there's anything you can really be identified through here and I wanted to help future patients.)
• Your letters of recommendation (you already have these by now if you were approved for OHIP, whoever you got them from just has to send them to Montreal too)
• Hormone therapy report provided by your prescribing doctor (no idea about the specifics of this one tbh, I just let my clinic handle it)
• Up to date list of medications from your pharmacy (you can just call your pharmacy to ask about this, they'll print out a sheet and then you can scan it and email it to Montreal)
• Two-sided scan of your provincial health card

Whew, that's a lot. Now, I prepared for this beforehand and had already send a lot of these documents during the OHIP waiting period because I was extremely antsy; don't do this. I ended up having to redo several forms because they ended up being too old. Only send them forms once they actually ask for the forms.
By the end of October, my file was sent to the pre-operative team for evaluation. I was told this would be a 6-10 month wait, which I thought was a really long estimate given I'd heard of other people being approved much faster. Nope, it actually took 6 months. I think this might have been because I misunderstood that some people getting approval faster were in the process for top surgery, but never looked into it too much. I got really antsy here and thought something was wrong when in reality it was completely fine; when they tell you 6-10 months, expect 6-10 months. I sent them way too many emails during this period because of how anxious I was (thanks for putting up with me, Brenda). Don't do this.

The finish line, May 2023

Late April 2023, I was sent an email from the pre-op team with a whole bunch of questions. This was basically to make sure that the information provided was still accurate, checking up on a few minor health concerns (I have asthma and chronic back pain, so they wanted to be sure those would be managed), checking surgery availability, making sure I'd have an okay environment to recover in, etc. Nothing crazy here but I got really excited because this was the first time they'd reached out in a while.
On May 1st, they confirmed that my file was complete and that I would get a call soon to schedule surgery dates. I was called the next day and asked when I would be available for surgery; given I'm going into university next fall, I asked for it to be as soon as possible and was offered a date of June 5th with Dr. Alex Laungani, which I accepted.
A brief note on Laungani: while he doesn't have nearly as many results posted online compared to Brassard, I was completely happy going with him due to his fairly prestigious record and a few anecdotes of very happy patients. It does bug me a little bit that I couldn't find out as much about his results as I wanted to, but I still have confidence I'm in good hands.
If the waiting before was brutal, waiting while knowing the exact date of your surgery is mega brutal. Not gonna lie, I'm extremely lucky that Tears of the Kingdom released during this period, which made it a lot easier. Same idea as before applies: the time goes by a lot quicker when you're not thinking about it, even if that's going to be extremely difficult by this point.
For transportation, I'm opting to fly there and back. I live in Southwest Ontario, and it would be about an 8-ish hour drive if I'm lucky. Flying cuts this down to a bit over 3 hours including a 1 hour layover. This was a lot more expensive than I expected for a domestic round trip, and I ended up paying over $700 CAD just for the flights. I was okay with this because I had been saving since I decided I was getting surgery, but just be aware that this option can be really expensive if you go for it.
Speaking of expenses, there are some random expenses here and there that you're going to have to pay for. There's a list of aftercare items I had to buy (you can find these on their website in one of the vaginoplasty booklets) that ended up being around $140 CAD, I had to pay $75 for post-operative medication, and I'll have to pay a $50 deposit for the hotel once I'm there (the hotel stay itself is covered). Food is covered once I'm at the hotel seemingly through a $50/day Uber Eats credit.

Where I'm at today, June 1st, 2023

Excited, antsy, a bit nervous. The fact that this is actually happening is starting to hit; before now it felt distant, like a pipe dream. Not really worried about the plane flight itself, not really worried about anything going super wrong in the surgery, but it's a big life change that will be my focus for the next few months during recovery. Probably should start loading up my Steam Deck with games instead of writing up reddit posts, to be honest.
That's all for this one. I'll write again, I dunno, whenever I feel like it to be honest lol. Maybe once I'm back home from surgery, maybe while I'm bored in the recovery home; we'll see how much energy I have to actually do stuff. I extend a massive thank you to everyone who's shared their experiences in the past, and I hope this post and the ones to follow will prove helpful to prospective patients at GRS Montreal.

I recently purchased Vampire Survivors for my brand new Steam Deck, but sadly it refuses to load.
I've tried all the ideas I've been able to find on Reddit & Steam forums, but nothing has fixed the issue. I've tried things like:

• ensured I had all updated downloaded, verified & installed
• delete the game & redownload
• install the game on both the Steam Decks SSD & my SD card
• Used Proton Experimental
• Added "PROTON_LOG=1 %command%" to Launch Options under Properties > General on the Steam Deck
• Tried launching it in both SteamOS & on the Steam Deck's Desktop

Nothing will get it to launch at all.
I even contacted Steam Support & they told me to read a forum 😔

Hello,
Recently I acquired LOZ: TPHD and its update for Cemu, running through EmuDeck. Originally, the game wouldn’t launch from Steam mode (it would briefly boot and then crash back to steam) but WOULD launch fine within Cemu. Odd.
To fix this, I changed the launch options in Steam Properties for the game to the [Game] file path instead of the path to the [Update]. This fixed the issue and I can now play the game from steam!
My question now: is the version I am now running from steam not updated? Is the update even necessary to enjoy the experience, or are there some game-breaking bugs I don’t know about? Should I just go back to the original file path and launch from Cemu?

I played a game for about 50 minutes during lunch at work and I was at 9.4 hours when I started doing my 50 minute playthrough. My break was over so I put my Steam Deck in sleep mode and I come back home 5-6 hours later. I turn on the deck, connect to the internet, close the game, and the cloud status is up-to-date and it is still reporting in exactly 9.4 hours. Does anyone know how to fix this or is it just a known bug? FYI I'm on the latest version of SteamOS.

I started playing this game on the Steam Deck, then switched to a laptop I got recently cuz I couldn't deal with all the button combos I had to make radial menu prompts for, but I'm sending the laptop back for a better one and in the meantime have put my active save on my gaming PC connected to a 4K TV with HDR, and I can't believe how much more saturated and gorgeous everything is on here. It's practically a remaster.
Anyone else enjoying this incredible game on an HDR screen?

Hi, My steam deck for some reason is stuck on 60C it won't go more then that and it's stuck on 1400mhz CPU and 200mhz GPU or the the opposite when I limit the GPU, it only take 0.1w and won't change no matter what I try, I tried everything to even opening the deck and repasting but nothing works, it's only on steam games, emulation and non steam games works, the same thing is on windows as well only non steam games and emulation works, and I can't RMA since I am in a non supported country.

Come to Gallywix's Pleasure Palace! We've got it all! (...Except refunds)
Explanation: This idea is based on Gallywix's actual existing Pleasure Palace, and doing the Hearthstone twist of altering it for the game. Here, Gallywix has turned his base of operations into a luxury casino resort for the wealthy. The cards will be themed around different parts and characters of the resort, as well of the idea of "gambling".
The Classes: Each class will be based on a specific character for that part of the casino. To give some variety, especially since these characters have potential to be hero portaits, I picked new race/class combos not in the game yet to stand out.
Death Knight: Chef Tilly Frostoven. Gnome. Supposely she is claimed to be the personal chef of the Lich King in her previous job. She is a fancy and quite haughty chef, whose specialties are the bloodiest meats (blood), coldest desserts (frost), and most aged cheeses and wines (Unholy). Has a heated rivalry with Geeta Felgrill, whose restaurant is right across from hers. Gambling angle is preparing food without ruining it.
Demon Hunter: Aviss Felstep. Blood Elf. The current champion of the resort's dancing contest. With his incredible footwork and aerial manueveribility, he is a tough contender for anyone seeking the trophy. Gambling angle is not missing a step and scoring in the contest.
Druid: Sieg Moontea. Worgen. The husband of Madam Izu-Mi, he helps his beloved wife run the spa, using animal and plant-based therapies for weary and stressed customers.
Gambling angle is making guests happy.
Hunter: Ra'gor. Troll. Is the head of the animal-based acts. His menagerie of well-trained and beloved pets entertain all with their beauty and intelligence. Gambling angle is entertaining the crowd with the proper tricks.
Mage: Fenn. Night Elf. Aided by his silent vulpera partner, Jeller, the two put on a magnificent magic show. Gambling here is about entertaining the folks without them figuring out their tricks.
Paladin: Kacie Metalflash. Dark Iron Dwarf. The champion of the races. She and her personal ram, Dark Comet, have won more races than any other rider. Gambling here is keeping their place in the race without tiring.
Priest: Sarah Screachsong. Undead. The lead singer of the night club. Despite being dead, her voice still attracts all who hear her sing...even if she also have a deadly wail that can shatter glass and ear drums when she's angry. Gambling is moving the crowd.
Rogue: Flynn Fairewind. Kul Tiran/Human. (The only character here who actually exists in WOW). While coming as a guest, this sneaky rogue has come to loot both the tables and the secrets in Gallywix's vault. The gambling here is outwitting the dealers and navigating the security.
Shaman: Izu-Mi. Pandaren. The head of the Gallywix's Spa, she prides herself on her elementals making the most comfortable conditions for her customers, such as steam for steamrooms, fire for saunas, and water elementals for soaking. She also makes a delicious tea, helped brewed by her beloved husband, Zieg.
Warlock: Greeta Felgrill. Goblin. The head cook of Felgirl Grill. It is said she made certain deals with demons to cook the best food that would bring tons of cash into her wallet. Her more flashy and commerical cooking puts her at ends with rival chef, Frostoven. Gambling is cooking her food without burning it.
Warrior: Kalandu Staffsword. Nightborne. The head of Gallywix's security, he heads all of the muscle to boot out any troublemakers and would-be thieves to his boss's casino. He has combined his people's anti-arcane technology with Gallywix's (bargain bin) goblin tech to keep even mages out. Though that may not be such a reliable idea...
The story here is Flynn Fairewind is on a heist of Gallywix's casino. The other characters will be his partners in the heist, secret security, and/or rivaling treasure hunters.
The term here is "Gamble"; the game does have some random chance in it, but mostly its not really penalizing beyond not getting the cards you want on time. Here, whether you choose to gamble can be a game-changer for you or your opponent.
Gamble is basically a term for an effect (such as battlecry, deathrattle, attack, etc) that has an additional effect if you decide to take the risk. Basically, it will be a coin flip, and you're betting one additional mana and possibility a backlash effect if you fail. This is always optional, but the idea is to add a risk and rewards twist to the game.
Example:
High-roller Pit Boss. Warrior. 5-mana. 5/5. Any excess damage done between this and another monster is directed to the owner of the losing monster. Gamble: When this monster attacked or is attacked, flip a coin. Heads: Double this monster's attack. Tails: Double opposing monster's attack. (Basically, you can choose to make this monster stronger for a chance to cause more damage and possibly destroy a powerful monster, as well as cause excess damage to your opponent. But you also run the risk of making your enemy's monster stronger instead and doing excess damage to you instead)
Boxes of Vanishing: Mage. 3-mana spell. Arcane. Target one of your minions and one of your oponent's minions. Remove both from the game. Gamble. Win: Only your opponent's minion is removed. (Artwork is Fenn and Jeller standing in front of two boxes covered with sheets)
So some gambles will be more powerful and will carry an extra risk beyond spending one more additional mana to use. Also, gambles can never cost 0, so you always put in one (so they can't be cheated somehow)
Not all cards will be gambles though, obviously. Here's one non-gamble I thought of:
Kitten Treatment: Druid. 3-cost spell. Nature. Give all your minions this deathrattle: Summon a level 1 1/1 Kitten. Its keeps all enchantments from this monster except for deathrattles (so basically, you give your minions a deathrattle where they summon kittens that keep all the special buffs and effects you gave the original monsters, such as increased health and attack. Other deathrattles don't count to prevent abuse, such as doing two Kitten Treatments and getting an endless barrage of kittens) (Artwork is a night elf man, pandaren woman, and orc woman in spa robes with multiple cats all around them. The night elf man has two in his arms and smiling, the pandaren woman is petting the one on her lap, and the orc woman is blushing as she struggles to try and pet a sleeping one by her)
Gallywix himself will be a neutral legendary with a powerful effect for gamblers, but also worked so he will not become another Dentharius or Renethal. (In fact, he'll fit the theme while being opposite)
Gallywix, Casino Boss. Neutral. 7-star. 6/8. If this card is in your deck, you can only have 20 cards. As long as this minion is on your field, all gambles will be successful (so basically you have to cut your deck shorter as another gamble, and he only works as long as he's on the field. He gets removed, your gambles go back to normal). (Artwork is Jaster in a blinged out mech suit, wearing sunglasses and furs)
