Ive had sims 3 on steam for quite a while now, but no matter how many times I run through the steps of making a mods folder, it never appears in game. Right now I play completely mod-free, which is still incredibly fun, but it would be nice to get things to make my game run a little more smoothly, or more practically.
Any help is appreciated!

I loved FF7 back in the day and think itd be a great game for commuting.
Problem is finding something to play it on. I know it's on Android - is this worth it? Would it instead be better to get it on something else?
I know there's a lot of options for handheld gaming now - besides the switch and steam deck, there's also older handhelds that can be modded (psp) and then tons of random companies that make open source handheld consoles to play emulation games.

also if your point is that emulation is piracy, IT IS NOT. there is no maybe, there is no gray area, emulating a game is not piracy, piracy is obtaining said game for free, so Dolphin on Steam is 100% legal
example: An independent developer make a band new game for the NES, and releases a digital copy. I buy the copy, and emulate it. I have not pirated because i paid for the game, even though i am emulating it.
the wii common keys are in a legal gray area, and it is unclear whether they are piracy or not, but unclear shouldn't mean it is piracy until it's proven it's not.

Hi! So my PC specs are Intel i7-9770k, 32GB of 3600MHz Kingston DDR4 RAM , Asus TUF Gaming RTX 3080 TI, and my windows is installed in a Samsung 500GB SSD with a 750W Corsair Gold powersupply.
On the day this happened I notably had Steam, Discord, Chrome open, and I tried to open League on top of that to play it with my buddies. 30 seconds after that my pc blackscreened with my mouse still "intact" and I was greeted with my desktop, nothing open, like it was a fresh boot. This whole thing lasted for 10 seconds. I had tried to do basic research on the subject, but with no avail, as the guides were mostly focused on laptops with the same issue.
I have had my CPU for 5 years, and everything else I bought 2 years ago while I was upgrading my PC. I shouldn't have problems with air flow as I have ran benchmarks and the components hover maximally(?) in the 70-85C on heavy usage.
Before this it I felt like the pc is running slower and slower, but this is the first time it has happened, and I fear that my GPU might be the culprit. I am conscious about internet surfing, and the only things I have downloaded that are not from very popular trusted sources are Irony Mod Manager for Paradox Interactive games that is open sourced, and Bluestacks 5 which is a Android emulator. Before this I have tried to run Microsoft Safety Scanner which found nothing, and Malwarebytes which found nothing.

I thought these were supposed to be keylocked or something? All I did was drag and drop all the BSA, ESM & NAM files from the Epic install location and drop them into my vanilla Steam copy and it seems to work perfectly fine. Sort of a piracy concern isn't it? (also sorry in advance mods, idk if this constitutes as a rule 6 or not).

Here is a list of properties I am comfortable saying most of us want from a paradox game’s development post-release:

1. Player feedback for new and upcoming features
   
2. Affordability (how cheap it is to play the game with a reasonable experience)
   
3. Modding convenience (dlc-woes)
   
4. Bug-free releases (including hotfixes)
   

I want to point out how we’re closer to this “ideal” than ever before.
I’ll go over how paradox ended up at their current model. Just skip to the end if you’re familiar. And I’m sorry if it’s a ramble.
First, they started out with the development cycle typical to strategy games in the oughts: the game on release is the final product. No live service, bar critical bug fixes. Expansions are effectively total reworks and are basically mandatory.
Then, they moved towards the eu4/ck2 model, with more frequent DLC and an accompanying free update to keep the game compatible with the new features. This had some… interesting side effects. In eu4, the development update came with the free update - but you couldn’t spend MP to develop provinces without the dlc.
There are plenty of “zero dlc” videos on YouTube that illustrate how ridiculous this model can be.
Paradox saw that this model was very successful at funding the development of their games for years post-release, but also realized that it wasn’t sustainable. Playing with zero dlc was becoming less and less viable, and there was an insurmountable backlog of dlc for new players to overcome. The model that let the games continue development was also isolating them from gaining new customers, relying on already established customers to buy the next dlc.
They eventually added an alternate subscription model to eu4, and folded a lot of old DLC features into the base game. Subscriptions have been added to some later games, too, I believe.
A consequence of this model is the well known feature bloat, where each dlc had to justify itself in its own right, adding new features on top of old ones, creating a labyrinth of buttons and obscure features.
The next generation of paradox games, stellaris/hoi4/imperator(rip), had somewhat different approaches. Stellaris is clearly the one they’re using as a model for the newer games, so I’ll mostly talk about that.
Stellaris is a 4X game, and 4X games are much more resistant to feature bloat, mainly because you aren’t forced to interact with stuff you don’t want to interact with, for the most part. That gave paradox the opportunity to create a model where they put most of the new features in the free update, while also creating DLC that had real, unique mechanics, without the same issues that eu4 had. They could separate new features into critical and non-critical to future updates and the gameplay loop, adding the former to the free update and the latter to the dlc.
Think megacorps/LeGuin. Tellingly, the popular “zero dlc” videos are replaced with “reverting to patch 1.0” videos here, because the base game isn’t as wacky and weird compared to eu4 / ck2.
People think hoi4 and stellaris have very different dlc models, but I think they’re actually very similar. The difference is that stellaris is a 4x game - hoi4 is a gsg. And gsg are much more sensitive to independent systems / feature bloat; Megacorps being locked behind dlc is acceptable to players; espionage is not.
Paradox, after a series of dlc with negative feedback, moved away from having any major features at all in the dlc, relegating it to cosmetics and flavor. Look at how the feature list has changed from old to new hoi4 expansions, and how country/flavor packs have been effectively discontinued in favor of being rolled into expansions.
So now, we’ve gone from all changes being paid, to most changes being free, with dlc being mostly flavor. The base game has everything you need to interact with (almost) every system in the game. Modding is easier than ever, and is almost entirely dlc-independent.
That raises a new issue: how do you get people to buy your dlc, if 90% of its development is released for free? You build a vibe. The idea of a dlc. “France!”. You draw a whole new map, recolor buttons, add flavor, and make it seem as Cool! as possible. The flavor is as update-neutral as possible, to minimize maintenance down the line. And you set the price point to whatever you think you can get away with. Besides, all the important changes are in the free update, so people can skip the dlc if it’s too expensive for them.
Aaaaaand now you have a 50% rating on steam, because people notice that DLC features seem disparate, journal entries are fractured, and is made to be as low-maintenance as possible, anticipating future updates adding new content.
But how could it be different? We demand features in the dlc, and we demand them in a way that is impossible to fulfill. Something something rock and hard place.
To finish, I have a genuine question for ya’ll: what can they do differently that satisfies all the points i listed at the start of the post? Alternatively, how can they rework dlc in a way that satisfies people? Every step of this evolution in dlc policy has, in my opinion, gotten us closer to fitting the list I outlined. I don’t mean to moralize about how we talk about dlc policy, I just wanted to air my thoughts given how many dlc meta posts I’ve seen recently.
(Preemptively: to me, a lot of the complaints seem to culminate to “I want the benefits of this model, but with X model instead, and that will magically fix my perceived issues”. Not all, but a lot.)

• Fixed explosive_bullets attribute not respecting mult_explosion_radius value

• The item schema is now automatically reloaded upon disconnecting from a server
• Fixed global disguise class portraits on the HUD displaying blue team’s ones instead when cloaked

Hey,
I wrote a mod a year ago and wanted to play it again but I switched to linux in the meantime. Workshop mods work fine and the mod I created that is located in the ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Star Wars Empire at Wacorruption/Mods folder shows up in the mods menu. But when I play it none of the new content seems to show up. How can I ensure that the mod actually booted?

I'm from EU,so GAMES SHOULD work pretty much anywhere

I’ve recently bought Skyrim on Steam after modding it for a long time on pc Xbox so I could use script extension mods but after getting it to work whenever I load my save it just crashes and sends me out of the game. Could anyone please offer possible solutions.
