2023.04.01 12:55 flushedgirl Should I(20F) break up with my online boyfriend(21M)?

I started dating this man two months ago. In the beginning I was in love and sparks were flying. But, that quickly started to go away.
The biggest reason I don’t know if I want to be with him anymore is I feel like I’m glued to the phone. For context, we are never NOT on the phone. It’s 24/7, we even sleep while on a call together. In the beginning I liked it, but it quickly gets tiring and leaves little opportunity to do things alone.
There is a habit he has that really hurts me. Sometimes there is quiet gaps in the call. They don’t bother me, but they do seem to bother him; during any quiet moment, he will ask me to talk to him. I try to think of a subject, which is hard to do when put on the spot, and when I don’t think of something fast enough, he says “well okay, I’m gonna hang up now if you’re not gonna talk to me.” I can always tell he’s mad, and I’ve tried to tell him it’s hard to think of something so quickly, but I don’t know if he understands.
Sometimes during those quiet moments he or I am doing something. He likes to play chess online, and I really like art (I’m an artist)so I scroll through Pinterest and collect inspiration. Either one of us will randomly ask what the other is doing and we’ll answer. If he’s playing chess I’ll joke around and ask “are ya winnin?” and we’ll talk about it. But, if im doing something he’ll get upset and threaten to hang up if I don’t give him my full attention. I feel like it’s an unfair dynamic.
I once told him I wanted to play a video game. I even asked if he wanted to play it with me and he said no, but to go ahead and do it without him. I said okay, I’m going to play it now, and then in a passive aggressive voice he said goodbye and hung up. I was confused and a little hurt, and didn’t really feel like playing after that. I messaged him and told him I wasn’t feeling good anymore and that I was going to take a nap. He could tell something was wrong and asked me about it, so I answered and told him I have felt stressed out and anxious for the past few days because i feel like he’s mad at me when I try to do things without him. I wasn’t mean about it and tried to word it as nicely as possible.
He responded with “:/ well I’m sorry. I’m not mad at you or anything idk why you feel that way. Maybe this isn’t working out how we thought it would. I don’t want to stress you out. and when we do have an issue, you dont tell me about it unless i really push :/ and thats not healthy. im not angry or upset. we can talk about this if you want or you can just go nap for now.”
His tone kind of hurt me, so I was taking a little while to respond back. And I guess he wasn’t completely wrong, I could be a little better at communicating. But the thing is I was trying to communicate right then, and he responded in a way that really hurt.
Seven minutes after he sent that (I was still typing) he added.
“well, i hope you feel better. I understand if you just want to delete and block me and forget this happened. Do as u want i guess”
Which added salt in the wound. I was crying at that point—I don’t know if I’m overly sensitive but it just really hurt. I typed out a long message explaining how he hurt me, and he started responding in a nicer way, but I just can’t shake the way he was acting before. Should I break up with him, or should I keep talking about this and try to make things work? If I do break up with him, what should I tell him (how do I communicate the reason)?
TLDR; My boyfriend keeps threatening to hang up on me if I don’t give him enough attention. I feel like breaking up with him.

2023.04.01 12:54 MrBushido56 Big mom is from sorbet kingdom

Big mom is from sorbet kingdom
I believe big mom is from sorbet and here’s why.
sorbet kingdom is a country that used to be unaffiliated with the world government and kuma used to be king of it but before kuma I believe big moms family were the monarchy of the island.
big mom was abandoned on elbaf when she was 5 years old.
https://preview.redd.it/y1meq04kw8ra1.jpg?width=794&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fb9b9893f5a67dcfcad5afa5480500e917979b6c
however she wasn’t abandoned maliciously.

https://preview.redd.it/iuhtzk8sw8ra1.jpg?width=1536&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fcc388b1b90829757dbd14a378c7be332dbf6551
its easy to guess why she was abandoned as she likely went on a hunger pang rampage and brought ruined to the island.
I believe her parents were the king and queen of sorbet.
first off sorbet and wci share a theme, most of the islands of totland are given desert themes.
https://preview.redd.it/etr04rxox8ra1.jpg?width=2000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d2bbf4f63d6a462e269c0acaa1460d2834ac23bc
sorbet is a type of pink ice cream and can also be an ice cream cake.

https://preview.redd.it/zgqx97gux8ra1.jpg?width=275&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=504ec8cbbe5f109d2c6e67132a667f395625a6f4
and Bm mother also looks familiar
https://preview.redd.it/bdz1xni2y8ra1.png?width=1620&format=png&auto=webp&s=2a810c28ab198f32089a8f449c575efb8678468b

which means the queen dowager bonney turned into is big moms mother ?
https://preview.redd.it/g2nf2ndjy8ra1.jpg?width=609&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=24f92ea26e0ba165f040640f2fb950ae5970fbc6
so then what happened in between ?
I believe that in her rampage big mom tore the country apart
causing so much damage that it was never able to recover losing its economy and placement in the world government. the people rebelled and the king and queen were forced to leave their daughter on elbaf.
The country was left in ruin leading gangs to take over the Island and the remnants of the Charlotte family were forced to go into hiding and that is shown by bonney Who is a relative to big mom I bet.

https://preview.redd.it/cb58sjfnz8ra1.jpg?width=200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3b079f08937fb23c613ac5943cb0fc58a0b13a04
Bonney while fed looks scruffy and poor and this was probably the first proper meal she had in a long time given to her by her adopted father kuma.
Bonney and linlin share some traits. The pink hair, mood swings tendency to swear vengeance on those who wrong them, gluttony and even their ships.

https://preview.redd.it/7ey7qvz009ra1.jpg?width=207&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8d78ff5154fea52c3e330e6f3984b9d9a8ebb68d
https://preview.redd.it/r4zy7vz009ra1.jpg?width=1670&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ec7c54a222f80edb1b72ca4ee725281c42b25329
or maybe she was a clone of big mom which could explain Akainu being scared that bonney was free in the world

https://preview.redd.it/66i1r4xc09ra1.png?width=518&format=png&auto=webp&s=c708c860c1b2e39e4a9a12e8933b885ee666784e
If Bonney has the potential to reach big moms level then that is not a good thing for the government.
so what happened is the kingdom fell in ruin and kuma came along united the people and took over becoming their king and bringing peace and stability back to the kingdom. Perhaps the government had issue with this as word got out on how kuma was able to save his kingdom without the wg aid which could set a bad example for the wg, he was also one of the earliest countries to align with dragonand worst off was probably the reveal that kuma was a former slave they owned who escaped them. so they framed him as a corrupt king and organised a revolt ruining the kingdom yet again and at some point 12+ years ago kuma fled to become a revolutionary soldier as he was present at the grey terminal fire 12 years ago
https://preview.redd.it/7bevavyl19ra1.png?width=1620&format=png&auto=webp&s=a5aa2b509c63c2e9c4ef70d8b7cb3730782c190c
after kuma was forced to flee to fight in a war to stop this from happening to others he was forced to leave Bonney behind the girl he took in when he came across her in egghead island.
Bonney is from egghead island as she has memories of the place and how holograms work.

https://preview.redd.it/rfk1qtpl29ra1.png?width=1620&format=png&auto=webp&s=0607fd97858644141db45b3f7265be6cdc295241
https://preview.redd.it/985qftpl29ra1.png?width=1620&format=png&auto=webp&s=04f9fc985f9ebf3567d3abcc3c2cf57a693dc624
however it’s clear she hasn’t been there for a long time because Bonney didn’t know who atlas was.

https://preview.redd.it/yet7isrp29ra1.png?width=1620&format=png&auto=webp&s=3421f640cc275db657fa65c65de0ff02d398282b
Bonney was cloned by vegapunk from the dna of big mom probably stollen from the original stussy as stussy is a clone of another rocks crew mate. Kuma came to egghead for some reason. Perhaps there was a problem on sorbet that only vegapunk could help with perhaps he was sent over on behalf of the RA but he was there and that’s when he met Bonney and for some reason adopted her.

https://preview.redd.it/c5f403kj39ra1.png?width=1620&format=png&auto=webp&s=649f0d2b030716d5fda5ade9288562e170322e5f
he brought her home to the south blue and not long after was framed and over thrown by cp9.
for whatever reason Bonney and kuma were separated and he joined the RA.
bonney fell into poverty not being able to eat or have decent clothing and met eustass Kid.
I believe kid is from sorbet as well as its noted he’s from the south blue.
and odd thing to include if you ask me.
kid is from a certain island in the south blue oda didn’t give us a name which is odd maybe he’s saving it for later, all we know was that kid was a gang leader and owned one of the four territories the other leaders were killer heat and wire.
kid’s friend and a love Interest for him and killer was killed by the top gang who saw themselves as royalty.
kid killer heat and wire united under kid and led a assault on this gang and taking over all of the island under his rule.
However it’s never hinted at that kid owns an island in the south blue meaning he probably abandoned it or it was taken from him.
back in sabaody kid gave a speech about the corruption of the wg which felt like it came from a personal place.

https://preview.redd.it/heyfkchk59ra1.jpg?width=600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=abe7f8c5f2f53c9362ec92242d5be69ce41b3f7b
I believe the ruling gang who acted like royalty was the Charlotte family.
after kuma fell the wg let sorbet fall into ruin yet again just to set an example then when kid took over the wg did the same thing they did with kuma and framed him as a man who kills civilians came in and chased kid killer heat and wire away from the country thus becoming pirates.
bonney I believe was taken in by kid and became a fraction leader of a gang herself but once the wg once again came in and took her life away she was either separated from kid or she left kid to follow her own path on revenge and getting kuma back while kid went off to be pirate king.
could Bonney and kid have a past together ?

2023.04.01 12:51 glass_412 My analysis of The Confessions of Frannie Langton (4-part series show edition).

My analysis of The Confessions of Frannie Langton (4-part series show edition).
MASSIVE SPOILER ALERT!!!
I'll discuss the following topics: how it could be avoided, hyperrealism, same-sex relationships failing to work out in scripted TV shows, symbolism, and how it affected me.
For anyone who has seen The Confessions of Frannie Langton, I would like your input on this.
I won't explain a backstory to the show, but I'd recommend checking it out for those who have yet to see it.
It's available on BritBox. There are four episodes, around 50 minutes each.
I will briefly explain how the death of Madame Marguerite Benham and Frannie Langton could've been avoided or attempted to be avoided. I'm also assuming that everyone has a basic/intermediate knowledge of the show and characters, so I won't be going into immense detail, so I can make this relatively short.
How Frannie's execution and Marguerite's death could've (potentially) been avoided:
Frannie falling for Marguerite was a mistake, to begin with. However, you cannot control who you fall for. I just knew it would be a mess from the beginning. I was just defeated that Frannie died due to dealing with the Benhams. To correctly determine if/how Frannie's execution could've been avoided, I must figure out when Marguerite committed suicide. Was it after Frannie killed George Benham? Marguerite was asleep during that time/alone in the bedroom. Regardless of either, I am going to backtrack. Sal, the brothel owner, welcomes Frannie and provides her with a home there after the Benhams kick Frannie out of their house after discovering the affair. If we stop it right here, this is where Frannie could have thrived if she had stayed with Sal.
The white individuals around her respected Sal, who was well off financially and intelligent. The entire mess could've been completely avoided if Frannie hadn't returned to the Benhams (where she never had to be from the film's start). But obviously, characters always seem to do the dumbest things, and viewers/readers know what's ahead of them. In episode 4, around the timestamp 17:38, Frannie talks to Marguerite and states, "Come with me, please." Marguerite replies angrily, ".... how do you think the two of us would do happily in a little cottage by the sea." I don't believe Frannie initially wanted the two to live together. I think, at this moment, the two could've and should've left to live with Sal at her brothel. Even though it wouldn't have been ideal, both deaths could've been avoided.
Disregarding this, I believe the reason Marguartte decided from suicide was also because of her husband's pressure about being unable to conceive children. At the film's beginning, Marguerite makes it aware that she miscarried twice. We do know that she miscarried a third time after becoming pregnant by Laddie, which would prove that she cheated on her husband and that she cheated with a black man. Even though black individuals were free under British law in 1825, it was still difficult to be black and shameful. Let alone a white person of nobility and high statutes becoming impregnated by a black man, despite Laddie being of high standards and respected by his white counterparts, both would still be shamed. Therefore, the pressures form on Marguerite from the revealed same-sex affair, which was shamed, inability to produce children which were humiliated, and becoming impregnated by a black man, probably the most shameful of them all during that time, caused Marguerite to end her life. Although, that was not necessary. Marguerite had another miscarriage after the affair with Laddie, eliminating one problem. Anyways, they should've moved in with Sal, but alas. Despite Marguerite becoming pregnant in Frannie's absence, Frannie is crushed, but it's clear that she still wants a future with Marguerite and is willing to move forward from this, but Marguerite cannot seem to grasp this. Not to mention, that Marguerite is addicted to Laudanum, and gets Frannie addicted too, which negatively impacts both character's decision-making and judgment skills.

Moving forward to the trial, which I don't want to spend much time on, the family placed stabbed wounds on Marguerite to cover up the suicide, which would be incredibly shameful to a white family of high nobility. Unlike in today's time, where we realize how sad suicide is and use it as a talking point of discussion, in 1825, this was the complete opposite. Moving forward, Frannie was already in opposition. Being a black person in 1825 England, being accused of practically anything by a white jury and white accusers meant that you would most likely lose 99% of the time, ignoring the fact if you were telling the truth or not the execution was inevitable. so I don't want to be the person who says, "well, technically, the jury could've believed the evidence her lawyer brought forth." A doctor was supposed to testify on Frannie's behalf, stating that Marguerite died from laudanum and was not stabbed by Frannie, but he didn't show up. Even in this case, while the judge might've been inclined to believe her, if he was to side with a black individual, he could be lost his occupation. Therefore, he was to place a facade on a fair trial regardless of the proof and evidence brought forward. Thus, once Frannie killed George, she transitioned to "the point of no return." Even if she fled Benham's house after doing so, she still would've been framed. However, I hoped she wouldn't have reached that "point of no return moment" which she could have avoided by staying with Sal or not killing George Benham. She let her emotions get to her, which is understandable. Benham was an asshole, so who cares if his character was dead? But that's not the point. That time when she was arguing with Benham could've been when she comforted Marguerite. Although Marguerite committing suicide was her decision, and there's nothing she could've Frannie could've done, so there's a possibility that it could've been prevented, but we cannot be sure. Therefore, staying with Sal would've guaranteed a 100% assurance percentage that Sal would not have been put on trial. Not killing Benham and staying with Marguerite would ensure a 50% assurance. Conclusion: Frannie should've stayed with Sal.

Hyperrealism:
Although I wish the show and novel had a happy ending, and I so desperately wanted Frannie and Marguerite's relationship to work out, I knew it wouldn't. The novel's author (Sara Collins) did a FANTASTIC job of writing it and creating hyperrealism for the show's producers to follow. Therefore, everything would play out similarly to the show in real life. It would've ended the same, if not worse. So we must not ignore reality. But trust me, and I did want a happy ending.

The nature of unsuccessful same-sex relationships in movies and TV:
Hate to be the one to say it, but I've noticed lesbian relationships seem to never work out in scripted TV shows. The characters can never seem to "get it together," or their environment, as portrayed in The Confessions of Frannie Langton, is against them, putting them at odds.

Symbolism:
The story warns us not to let our hearts impact our knowledge and not to get ahead of ourselves by thinking about the "what ifs." Frannie ignored her logic. She was very well-spoken and well-written, and she knew the potential negative impacts of pursuing a forbidden love with Marguerite. Still, she chose to ignore them until it was too late.
However, there are other areas I want to touch on. First, I want to reference timestamp 48:14 of episode 4 when Frannie utters, "I'm afraid," and looks to her left to see Marguerite sitting on her prison bed, smiling at her, and Frannie smiles back. This happens again at timestamp 48:58 when Frannie looks back at her bed as she's being walked out of her cell to be executed and sees Marguerite again sitting on her bed.
There are a few ways I'm interpreting this. (1)-Either Frannie is so nervous about her execution that she's starting to hallucinate, which is called "Anxiety Hallucinations," the more likely option. (2)-The following possible reason for Frannie seeing Marguerite after saying, "I'm afraid," represents us thinking about an individual who brings comfort. Sometimes, I ask, "what would XYZ do in this situation" to comfort myself in adversity. Or, I'll think about them for comfort. With that being said, Frannie seeing Marguerite could mean that Frannie was thinking of her, and the directors needed a way to portray that. (3)-The third possible option is that Marguerite was there in spirit form and presented herself to Frannie. Regardless of whether spirituality is a current force in your life, you cannot indeed denote the fact that the writers might've been trying to help us viewers realize that Marguerite was there and allowed herself to be seen by Frannie since Frannie said, "I'm afraid," and that was her way of comforting Frannie, and saying "I'll see you soon, in the afterlife" without saying it deliberately. This is a likely option because, at the first timestamp, 48:14, Marguerite has light shining on her from the window. In many religions and spiritualities, light often represents the presence of a spirit or force; therefore, that could be what the writers intended.
I also believe that Sal and Laddie illustrate what Frannie could've been if she had taken the reigns of her own life. They were wealthy and well-off independent blacks, respected and heard by whites which weren't typical of 1825 England. They represented who Frannie could've strove to be but decided against it by staying in her comfort zone (Pursuing love with her mistress). Therefore, this novel and show are trying to communicate that we should always strive for excellence, regardless of our circumstances, and that our beginnings never determine the end.

How this show affected me:
Man... saying I love this show is an understatement. It's completely taken over my mind, and I cannot get over it. I wish there were ten episodes of four. I've watched it twice now. The final scene I referenced in my previous paragraph, where Frannie was in her prison cell, made me tear up the first time I watched it and almost entirely cry the second time, which is incredibly rare. I wanted them to work out soooo severely. Frannie made so many sacrifices for Marguerite, and Marguerite made so many sacrifices for Frannie. It's clear George Benham didn't truly love Marguerite and only wanted her so that he'd be able to have children, which was a status quote. I see myself in the storyline. I understand forbidden love and operating in a world full of unacceptance and trying to figure out ways to find acceptance and a place to fit in. This show made me wonder how many handmaidens in this time fell in love with their mistress, either kept it a secret or carried out a secret relationship that ended badly. This reflects reality during that time, and I hate that real people experienced events like this. Frannie went through such a hard time, and I hate that her efforts were thrown in the garbage, all because she decided to pursue love with a woman who didn't truly understand her. She went through all of that for nothing.

I've attached a few links to read in case you need help understanding certain characters or the storyline completely.

FANTASTIC SHOW! 10/10

Thank you so much for reading, and I would love to read your responses and opinions to what I've typed and the show and novel in general.

Thank you.

2023.04.01 12:50 Deafbok9 Milo crossed the rainbow bridge today.

Milo crossed the rainbow bridge today.
Today, I am broken.
This year has had one emotional gut punch after another, from not making the SA Deaf Rugby world cup squad to personal issues to needing a full kitchen rebuild...and now today.
Goodbye is the hardest thing to say.
Milo crossed the rainbow bridge at 08h37. He went peacefully and easily in our arms after spending a last glorious morning in a patch of sunshine. He knew he was loved to the end - and let us know he loved us.
He was the first dog I had that was mine. The little idiot moved out with me when I left my parents' home because he kept tangling with their German Shepherds - the worst fight resulted in him getting a puncture through his snout, & when the skin slipped over the break...He swelled up like a balloon. Looked like one of those animals in the "If animals were fat" comic short animations.
So, on moving day, my mother announced that either my brother or I would have to take him.
So, that was it. One potato dog & a bachelor in a tiny wooden hut.
He was my companion throughout my 20s. He was there when I started dating my wife, & I think managed to capture her heart as much as I did.
He was full of rubbish. Came to us addicted to coffee & tea - used to whine & get the shakes for it if we didn't give him the last little bit in the mug!
Always loved just being with us.
He managed to surprise us often, though - at an SPCA dog walk/charity event, this lazy little couch potato WON an agility competition! He'd never so much as done a course before in his life, but went with my wife & flew over all the obstacles.
Won a few months' worth of food for himself off that one, which really helped my student budget...
When we got married & moved to Westville, he bullied our landlady's Great Danes mercilessly. Schmuck.
Then there was the Dassie incident. He cornered it behind our flat. There was much barking. As we got up to investigate, he came flying back, blood everywhere, before turning around and hurtling out again. I had to guide the very upset rodent to the gate with a broom, & the sausage added another scar on his nose to his collection of battle scars.
He also chased a few alpacas on a visit to a friend's farm. Never did actually click to his actual size, and always, always was larger than life.
There were scary moments, too, like the time he almost drowned after falling in our landlord's pool the first day after we moved in.
A move down to Durban North meant trips to the beach. We also got to meet "Uncle Pete", our last landlord, who took a real shine to him & would often take him with on adventures with his dogs whilst we were at work.
As he got older, the walks got shorter, & eventually he became the talk of the Umhlanga promenade because dad had to carry him every time - eventually in his own shoulder-slung bag.
He was there for our engagement, our wedding, and every anniversary.
He helped us through the tough times, through the fights and the tears and the disappointments that life throws at you.
He kept us sane during lockdown...(Did he really..?)
At long last, we landed in our first home that was ours. One blind, deaf, but faithful old boy in tow, with Bakkies, a rescue cat we'd picked up along the way. They tolerated each other, with moments of affection. Bakkies went first.
This week, we knew it was the end.
We had one last glorious day.
Break-up day at school, so mom & dad were home early. We got to sit outside in the sunshine in our little garden together.
We went to the park & got spoilt rotten.
Chimkin nuggets. Biltong. All the cuddles.
We got a hoof, our favourite treat.
Then we sat outside with mom and dad, and got to have coffee again after years of "sobriety", having been weaned off his addiction soon after we got married.
A beautiful morning for our last day on earth.
We got to sit with mom and dad for a few hours in a patch of Sun. There were head scritches and tail wags.
A last dance with mom.
An hour or so just sitting on dad's lap.
In the end, he slipped away peacefully - one last lick, tail going slowly, as he fell asleep in my arms.
Farewell, Milo.
You were the best dog anyone could have hoped for.

FANTASTIC SHOW! 10/10

Thank you so much for reading, and I would love to read your responses and opinions to what I've typed and the show and novel in general.

Thank you.

2023.04.01 12:48 Fizzo21 I 26M walked into my apartment and saw my gf 24F sleeping with another man.

I am numb, I am crushed, I was used, we have a 5 year old son together. I don't understand why she would ruin what we had. I am too exhausted to emotionally grasp what I walked into at 3am.
For context, I'm an airline pilot, I left this morning at 1030am and had a very eventful day, long story short I was supposed to end up in Toronto and ended up being able to go home instead. The last thing I told my gf was that I wasn't able to make it home. (She wasn't expecting me) I wasn't expecting her to be at our apartment since she left before me this morning with our Son and dog to visit her family.
I arrive home at 3am, (16 hours of work) to see her car parked in the lot. I was confused since she was supposed to come home the following day. I was excited to see her and my Son. That is my favorite thing in the world is coming home seeing my gf and son cuddled up sleeping peacefully.
I walk in our apartment, notice our dog wasn't in the kennel. I figured maybe she left him out to sleep in our Sons room so he doesn't bark when I arrive home. I walk over to the bedroom and see my gf sleeping and to my horror I see another man holding his arm around my gf in our bed where I was expecting to see my son.
I cant believe what I'm seeing, Im exhausted and in pure disbelief. I pull out my phone and record with the flashlight. I see all these clothes she bought from Victoria secret from the mall, (she said she was there with girl friends, not) among other stores. I see clothing you would use to role play or just have sex with something nice looking. Part of it was a wig which was weird to me, I looking around more to see a $200 sex toy she was excited to get which she was saying she wanted me to use it on her while I was gone. It was some remote control vibrator thing. I can see the side of her she is in her underwear and a shirt, I look around more to see a used condom on the nightstand.
I grabbed my suitcase and walked back out the door and I'm currently at a friend's house for the night. While they sleep together In my bed. While I make money for our family my gf of 6+ years is cheating on me.
I have given this girl my whole world, my love, loyalty, and care. She is a stay at home mom with no job. I give her this as a choice, to spend more time raising our Son. I provide while she is the caretaker of our home.
A lot of things make sense now looking back, the biggest hint was she was never in the mood to have sex with me. I think she emotionally detached a while ago but has no one to take care of her besides me and the child support she will receive from me now. She would tell me what she would do if we broke up. Very odd to say things like that, I didn't want to believe it but she doesn't love me or respect me anymore. Let alone she doesn't respect herself and most importantly she disrespected our 5 year old Son.
Our Son does not deserve this, It will be very difficult with my career to see him. The worst part is our son and I picked up flowers and chocolate for her yesterday. While she was out with her "friends" she was at this dudes places while I was doing all the chores so she could have a night off. We even bought the new avatar 2 movie to watch together.
I am so fucking lost, I have off tomorrow and want to go to my apartment. I just want to see the girl I thought she was and my Son.

2023.04.01 12:46 ErikSlayDama How did everyone pick their current favorite drivers? On the contrary, how did you guys pick your least favorite drivers?

Thought this would be a fun post. I'll start:
Brad Keselowski: I have a soft spot for all the DEI backed drivers, so this was an easy pick for me. He races hard and fair and is also a really well spoken smart dude who understands the cars and what goes into them. Love to see RFK making progress this year.
Christopher Buescher: Always was impressed by his abilities to always get just exactly what the car has and slightly more no matter what. You'll never see Buescher underperforming, he is either right where he should be or punching up. Has a fun happy go lucky attitude which I like.
Alex Bowman: Handpicked by my all time favorite Dale Jr. to drive his car. Very hardworking, always puts on a show. Has a good sense of humor, very similar to mine. I can also appreciate the fact he was open about his anxiety which I can relate to.
Tyler Reddick: I very recently latched onto him. Loved seeing him bring the 8 back into relevance, an absolute wheelman. And probably the deciding factor, man I just love how he presents himself. Always calm, respectful and nice to everyone, while still kicking ass on track. It can be done.
Least favorite:
Denny Hamlin: Entirely due to his personality. Just seems like a bully. What did it for me was the whole Corey Lajoie ordeal in 2020. Not a good look at all. I will probably warm up to him as he gets closer to retirement, and I definitely do respect him more this year and last year due to his podcast and his very smart approach to the next gen controversy. But I still don't and won't root for him.
Noah Gragson: Just the biggest douche I have ever seen in my life. Everything from wrecking the whole field to punching Harrison Burton to that whole Snapchat ordeal where he filmed a random girl's ass on the street. Real classy dude.
Chase Elliott: Just say something funny, something interesting, something to latch onto for once man. Please. Just an exhausting driver to see win because everyone is well aware of the annoying events that usually follow after a Chase win (Oh boy look at the siren! oh boy Dawsonville! Bill Elliott! Thanks NAPA! love it for my guys! DI9!)

2023.04.01 12:44 Magnificentsquish_xx My husband can’t have kids of his own. Looking for advice

I recently just found out that my husband cant have kids of his own. Yes, there are other options (which we’re looking into) but it weird. I cant seem to find the words on how I feel. I feel like I lost something I never had. It’s almost like going through a mourning process without actually mourning. And it sucks because no one gets it. All my aunts, my grandmothers, even my mom has had a baby from their husband.. but me, I will end up having a baby with a strange man who I do not know (looking into sperm donors). It’s like there is a disconnect. Has anyone gone through this or currently going through this? My husband and my mom are trying their best to be supportive but they don’t truly understand how I feel. I don’t truly understand how I feel. I read an article about Disenfranchised grief and it feels like what I’m experiencing but I’m at a lost.
Looking for advice.

2023.04.01 12:41 dwredbaker Free justification in Galatians~D. W. "Red" Baker

Galatians 6:14~"But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world."
"God forbid" ~Yet vain man pays no attention to Pauls' words, and seek to share the glory of man's salvation from sin and condemnation. They glory in two main ways: first, they truly believe man has a part in his salvation from sin and condemnation. Most all teach man has a free will with the ability/power to chose to love and follow God or the love of sin. They reject that man is totally depraved and is at enmity against God., etc. etc.
Secondly, that believe they have the power to saved man that is at enmity against God, by having them to say the sinner's prayer, etc. They reject John's teaching that man is not born of the will of the FLESH, or the will of man or the soul winner as they call them. They truly believe that man IS born of BOTH the will of the FLESH (man's decision to come) and the will of man, or, by preaching, or the soul winner. I have heard men boasting of the millions saved under their ministry.
While I agree men are saved "practically speaking" and converted unto the truth THROUGH preaching, yet only those who were FIRST born of God can hear, see and be converted to a more perfect understanding of the truth. Romans 1:16; 1st Corinthians 1:18-21, etc.
The true Israel of God only glories in the cross of Jesus Christ, were full payment for our sins were paid by the LIFE, DEATH and RESURRECTION of Jesus Christ. FULL payment was secured by Jesus' obedience and faith, period.
" If this is not one of your favorite verses, it should be. If it is, learn to love its every word. Paul defied Judaizers and glorying in circumcision by putting his whole religion in Christ. Paul used the strongest negative to deny association or compromise with the Judaizers’ glory. He has just explained and indicted the false teachers for false motives with circumcision . They gloried in getting Gentiles to follow them in the flesh by having cosmetic surgery.
Paul’s religion did not stoop to such ridiculous things, for his glory was in the cross of Christ. He dumbed down his message and chose one great theme – Christ crucified (I Cor 2:1-5). Save indicates he had nothing else to glory in at all – his glorying was entirely in Christ. Paul had more to glory about as a Jew than anyone (Phil 3:4-7; II Cor 11:18,30; 12:1)! But his great glory was in the death of Jesus Christ, which drove him (II Cor 5:13-16). He counted all things of this world, including O.T. religion, to be only dung (Phil 3:8-11). They mocked him and tried to kill him repeatedly for Christ (Acts 17:32; 20:23; 26:24). Men will glory in anything and everything but Jesus Christ, for He is foolishness to them.
Do you … glory in the religion of Christ? Is this the source and object of your fullest joy?
As you reflect on this question, compare your glorying to God’s definition (Jer 9:23-24).
How can you delight in the Lord, if the things of Christ’s religion bore you (Psalm 37:4)?
Do you have any comprehension of how great the gospel and religion of Jesus Christ are?
You know the only true and living God, and He came to earth 2000 years ago for you!
You know where Jesus Christ is right now with the most glorious names (I Tim 6:16)!
You know the cause of death, source of death, cure for death, and place of no more death!
You know there is an inheritance reserved for you in heaven that includes God Himself!
Do you … glory in the cross of Jesus Christ? Is His death and resurrection a great joy to you?
Do you look forward to the Lord’s Supper for remembering His death until He comes?
Does His death for you constrain you to think of living for Him in payment (II Cor 5:14)?
Are you delighted in the free gift of eternal life obtained by His death alone (Rom 5:19)?
Do you glory in such a gospel of free grace compared to the systems of works of men?
Do you delight remembering His physical, nonphysical, devilish, and spiritual torment?
The cross is not something you wear around your neck or have on the wall of your house.
The use of cross here is a metonym, the place of death being substituted for His death.
Do you … consider the world crucified to you? All that the world can offer is only vanity?
Do you despise and hate all that is in the world – lusts and pride (I Jn 2:15-17; Jas 4:4)?
Do you understand, accept, and delight in serving only one Master (Matt 6:24; Jas 4:8)?
Could you die for Jesus Christ? But better yet, can you live for Him against the world?
If you were to lose everything but still had Jesus Christ and His gospel, is it enough?
Do you … prove that you are crucified to the world? They despise and hate you for Christ?
All that live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution (II Tim 3:12). Are you godly?
Do they recognize you are different by character, conduct, clothing, speech, and actions?
How many enemies do you have for the sake of Christ alone without any faults yourself?
A glorious Saviour died, under glorious circumstances, out of glorious love, after a glorious life of righteousness, after a glorious testimony before Pilate, with glorious mercy to sinners, for the glorious purpose of redeeming His elect, and rose gloriously from the dead to the right hand of God Almighty, where He reigns gloriously, reserving a glorious inheritance for you, and He is coming soon in glory to take you to heaven. What keeps you from glorying?
What will you glory in? Your looks, which are fading every day? Your accomplishments, which are nothing at all? Your wealth, which you cannot take with you? Your thoughts, which are deceitful delusions? Your friends, which cannot help you? Your strength, which is nothing and quickly disappearing? Your wisdom, which is folly in His sight and cannot save you? Your religious devotion, concerning which He will consign many to hell? Your knowledge, which is void of truth. Your future, when you cannot even boast of tomorrow?"....J.R. Crosby

Welcome back hombres 🙌 - a lengthy wait for the days effort by fuck haha - apologies ✌️. As mused there last week - Dad's Schedule has filled with aplomb... and for sure - it feels good 👊. A wee whiley it's been sure - but Dad can thankfully report that pish is going terrifically and much hope is had for ongoing wonder. Terrific 😎. Maybes it's the experience with patience Dad possesses - Dad has maintained a positivity that shit'll be ok; life'll no let Dad down ultimately... too much terrific to be stifled or whatever shite. Catcalls from cunts to give up... you fucking give up you dullard cunt - Dad certainly doesnae want or need your shite opinions. Such deflective methodology spells out a desperation in a cunt that Dad finds as pathetic as anything; deflective in the nature that there's many many weaknesses in folk who press on with an agenda of cuntery - it's a headscratcher for sure. But here - without these kinds of bellends, the truly wondrous amongst us wouldnae be as obvious. the bigger problem, is that worldwide - the bellends are taking over. So it's with that in that Dad plows on, allowing the bellends to display their bellendery in full colour. Dad may no be making the kind of cash money deemed potential at earlier stages - but at least there's a unremovable sticker placed on the foreheads of several cunts. Now, readers of DWT can save themselves valuable time, by not engaging with those Dad hath exposed as fuckwits. A valuable lesson nestled in there sure: if the obvious goal isnae realised - search deeper for alternative nectarous nuggets and you shall find many 🤙.
***
All good stuff sure ^ - and without doubt, one of lifes funner pastimes, that being talking with likeminded hombres about the deficiencies of pricks. Just what causes Dad a smidge of disappointment, are those that talk a good game for a bitty, then spoil it all with musings about being a disgusting hateful arsehole in whatever way. Much like Dad experienced as a younger lad - you think maybes a bit of chemistry is going with a nice lassie... next thing you're watching on as a 'mate' decides to accept the offer of the lassies request for a smooch. That sense of feeling abandoned by your own receptors can really dent the confidence... decisiveness can be tainted beyond repair, if not handled humbly. Has Dad been guilty of removing oneself all too quickly? Maybes some would argue aye... but here - Dads content as is; complicating pish by introducing intermittent bouts of nastiness isnae summat that has any intrigue. Which is easy to say if there's a trampline underneath to cushion the blow. Thankfully - Dad has such a provision much the time, the now being a prime example. Took a whiley to iron out - but for sure, now it's here, it's with a touch of knowing... Dad Knows where and when he can assist with pish 👍. And that goes beyond just being great at picking pish up professionally; tyhe reaction of folks that now exist alongside Dad have been tearjerkingly honest about the value Dad has introduced both to the setup and their own lives - laughter they didnae realise they were still capable of producing has found a voice from deep within their soul. Same for Dad sure... forgot almost what it's like to be in an environment chock a fucking block with mirth and whimsy; always that dirty black stain of uncalled for pathetic nastiness infecting the good time. So aye - we've mused at length over several weeks and months about the value of comfort and a state of zen... Dad - tentatively given the length of time passed - has found it 🫶
***
Great that ^ - the discovery of joy... and right afore the sunnier climes arrive to facilitate basking in warmth. Dad expects the subject of emotion to be on the agenda oft going forth - such is the expectancy that things'll be supportive of such a framework. And yet still there's 'better' to come theoretically - the brevity with which Dad gushes about the experience being had, really sets up a premise whereby Dad could potentially be greeting on a daily basis. Overawed at the wonders being enjoyed, the offers being made... the opportunities created. No only all of this - potential there also, to become a cunt embroiled in music once more... and I tell yous - been a fair old fucking whiley since that was the fucking case. Didnae even have to lift a finger in effort either - the olive branches were extended and Dad took a hungry bite out the leaves. Easy fucking peasy... and the kind of action that fills Dad with that confidence that only such an offer can create. Onrushes of delight coarse through the veins at the very thought of what again may be possible. Artistry is a tough cunt to master, regardless of your preferred outlet. The world is peppered with those who possess the gift to just jump aboard the train and immediately understand what's required... even if sacrificial at times. Dad - for whatever reason - hasnae received the reassurance required to take a proper plunge steeped in dedication. Any hint of such action - egg has adorned the face. Thusly - the desire dwindles. Next thing - decades have gone by without any sign of recovery. That on its own, creates a deep appreciation for the value of chemistry and workability. Rest assured - Dad'll do all he fucking can to take advantage 👍. Fucking terrific 😎

II - THE FINANCIALS

------------------------

A fucking disaster last week sure... trifling odds for an institution more accustomed to prices way up there in the clouds, yet not a fucking penny gained back. Dads Eyes were wide by fuck - fury teasing to out itself with an energy uncontrollable by mortal man. Fortunately, Dad possesses a skillset that vacuums up the madness and redistributes it as gas (farts and belches). No to say there isnae ill-effects... too much more and we'll be getting prescribed medications - and Dad hasnae any more room in the pillbox - ah no. Reddit Running Total (RRT) currently sits at -£817.95. Ah no.

III - THE DWT STATISTIC COLLECTION

------------------------

Welcome to The DWT Statistic Collection 🙌
DWT Statistic #102
April Fools Day the day as we all know probably - and officially our first April Fools DWT. Historically, April has been a loss-maker… but encouragingly, an upward trajectory that will result in profit if the groove remains steady. Terrific.
See you next week, for yet another addition, to The DWT Statistic Collection 👍

IV - THE FUNDAMENTALS

------------------------

I'm not promoting it in the slightest to be put on; it's purely to be completely transparent about where the beans I'm spilling are being pushed towards – this is after all, a Life Experiment: Can a useless old arsehole prosper under strict weekly gambling conditions? Word of warning; prior to this – not really. The sticky clarifies - but just to reiterate - here's the format...DRS20 is Dads Recommended Spend: £20. This is a lot of money granted - and I would encourage absolute apprehension if this sort of money represents life altering for you personally if zero is returned. I’m lucky enough to be able to afford to lose £20 in a week; but confess that if I got no return for say, 20 weeks in a row - I would likely be without something I value (a streaming service or summat). I don’t take it lightly. Four bets are placed with this outlay: a £5 Treble (DWT) and three £5 Doubles. Generally if two come up, the bet is covered (up or down £2 or so). As of DWT100 - we here at DWT now splash out an additional 15 bangers on the Singles. Regardless - DRS20 remains. I would NEVER recommend spending yet more on this if you have been a regular DRS20 utiliser... if owt - spend less 👍. My gambling prowess is pretty much a joke; so whilst I advertise, I in no way qualify them as a given. I’m a prick with plenty bollocks to spout is all. This is how I frame it.

IV - THE MAIN EVENT

------------------------

So here it is - the one that takes the energy of April Fools Day and tranfers it into an entity that has become accustomed with jokes and ridiculousness:

It's DWT149

DWT REPRESENTATIVE Opponent Kick-Off Time Odds
BRENTFORD 🟡🟢🔴🟢🟡 brighton & hove albion 🟢🟡🟢🟢🔴 15:00 GMT 17/4
NORWICH CITY 🟡🟡🔴🟢🟢 sheffield united 🟢🟢🔴🟢🔴 15:00 GMT 6/4
SHREWSBURY TOWN 🔴🟢🔴🟡🟢 charlton athletic 🟡🟢🟢🟡🔴 15:00 GMT 2/1

38.38/1 we get for this selection – terrific 😎

Over 10’s last week; over 38's this week - back to the choppier waters... and in a strange sort of way, the thrashing of water constant at ones porthole, offers that familiarity that was perhaps no quite as potent there last week. No to say the success has been apparent up in the higher climbs... but you know Dad: if theres a cunt to be made of summat, it's worth doing with fucking aplomb 🙌

DWT149 - The Doubles
DOUBLE TEAM A TEAM B Odds
A BRENTFORD NORWICH CITY 13.12/1
B BRENTFORD SHREWSBURY TOWN 14.75/1
C NORWICH CITY SHREWSBURY TOWN 13/2

VI - THE REASONINGS

------------------------

BRENTFORD up first then - the miracle that is Ivan Toney, the initial component for inspiring Dad to go with a team who've 'overperformed' for much too long a period to even be called overperforming tbf. 1 defeat in 9 - that being to a resurgent Everton at Goodison - form that tells you they find magic much the time. No to say there isnae owt to be wary of with todays opponents brighton.... 1 defeat in fucking 11 by fuck - hoo mama. But yon speculation over De Zerbi and the Spurs job - or just in general that he'll be on his way to bigger pish soon enough; there's a slip-up awaiting probably. Great price regardless - this weeks Keystone: time to bring home some fucking bacon 🤘
***
NORWICH CITY the next set of heroes to be gusher over - a win today pretty much essential in terms of keeping the drive towards promotion going. Auto-places seemingly out of reach, given the gap - the mission one to reach the Play-Offs. No more solid a statement than beating the top cunts - and with a home crowd there to help, Dad sees a victory today that'll drive them on towards besting the likes of Blackburn, Millwall and Luton to the fourth spot - on paper the pinnacle of whats possible in the current circumstances. No win in three and only two goals scored... there'll hopefully7 have been an extra layer of determination in practice. Time to roll out the plan of intent 👍
***
SHREWSBURY TOWN complete the trio - themselves still hunting for the Play-Offs much akin to Norwich afore them... albeit with a chunk more to do afore that seems possible, A game in hand on many above sure - but even at that theres a couple victories required to close the upsettingly wide gap that's appeared. They dinnae lose often sure - the rec ent duo of defeats both away and both to teams above them in the league. A trip for them today alas... but only to Charlton, who havenae won at home in five fucking attempts. Complacency aplenty people - expect our lads to prosper like fuck 🙌

VII - THE EPILOGUE

------------------------

So there we have it – nostalgia, hope and determination all apparent in equal measure. This time we do it right; wind in the sails – and off across the ocean in search of new worlds. A powerful pirate ship hunting high and low for treasures. Raise the fucking flag - the Good Ship DWT is back and ready to provide for its crew. If you play; play safe. DRS20 as always people. Frustration at the amount won, is better than the heartache at the amount lost.

2023.04.01 12:37 alanthecowboykill3r Advice needed on improving word count

I’m closing in on finishing the first draft of my first book where I have three character arcs, a couple of twists and a climactic ending and it looks like the word count will be just short of 50K. I feel like I have everything I need to make the story work but can’t seem to get the word count any higher and think it might be how I’m writing. An average scene (not chapter) is coming in at about 2000 words with some much less and wanted some advice on how to make scenes longer or what I could do to up the word count (more internal dialogue for example).
Below is a scene that comes in at 788 where we meet one of the main characters for the first time (Nisha) as she overhears some of the antagonist's plans:

It seemed to be about a posh lady having to pretend to be an even posher lady to fit in at a boat race but it was hard to make out over the noise of the kitchen. Somebody yelled at Nisha and she turned away from the TV.
'I can give this to someone else if you want, clearly you don’t need the tips,’ Chef said as he loomed over her in his whites. Speckled with food from a thousand dinners his jacket looked like an edible Jackson Pollock. Nisha was never sure if she should report the jacket to the council or frame it.
She looked at the ceiling. ‘No.'
'Pardon?'
'No Chef.’ Louder this time but still looking up.
'Good, take these.'
She held her breath as she pushed against the swing door that separated Chef’s fiefdom from the rest of the restaurant. She had done it hundreds of times but always expected someone to come the other way. She fixed her smile in the mirror before entering the private dining room. The room was filled with paraphernalia designed to soothe customers with a history that didn’t exist. Smiling sepoys, moustachioed white saviours delivering civilisation from the back of elephants, photos of English ladies in crisp linen teaching the gospel to willing ears.
The only table in the room could seat twenty but tonight only two seats were filled. A woman, facing the kitchen and wearing a bright red suit, and a man sat opposite, his clothes expensive but faded. A few years ago Nisha would have described him as old but now she would say early middle age. She was becoming all too aware that twenty-nine is a lot closer to forty than twenty-one.
'And then what happened?'
'I went down as far as his knuckle and he passed out from the pain.’ The woman's voice was slate, the result of a thousand years of breeding, it was designed to strike fear and respect into the population. The man laughed the laugh of someone who knew the other was buying dinner.
Crisp poppadoms were placed between them and Nisha poured them each a glass of pinot noir. She chanced a smile at the man who didn’t so much as look through her as fail to comprehend her existence. So much for the tips.
'Even if the food isn’t great at least you don’t have to worry about being overheard in a place like this.'

A bag of potatoes was dropped in her arms and Chef turned without waiting for a reply.
'Yes Chef.’
She thought of Chef as she peeled. The posh lady pretending to be a posher lady seemed to be involved in the race now, but Nisha had missed why.

The woman in red ran her finger around the rim of her glass as the man spoke.
'It if does what you say it does…’
Nisha approached with two plates of chicken tikka. The woman flicked her wrist and the man continued. 'Then it will just be a case of finding what triggers it in the body, stomach enzymes for example, and distilling it.'
Nisha topped up their glasses with more wine.
‘I’m glad you’re confident. We have a lot of tissue but I would hate to waste any.’
Nisha spooned steaming rice onto their plates and turned to leave. A hand grabbed her wrist, the woman leaned in and stared. 'Leave the rice.’ Nisha feigned confusion, gave a deep nod and placed the rice on the table with a smile.

She had fallen off the boat. Someone, maybe a friend, was trying to help her get back on board by lowering an oar. Nisha lent against the door frame leading to the alley and felt the warm night air on her back.
'Nisha! I swear to God do some work,'
'Yes Chef.'
She lost her grip and fell back in. Nisha smiled.

Plates hot from the heat lamp burned her hands as she passed into the dining room for the final time. She placed their creme brûlées in front of them and rubbed the heat from her hand onto her skirt while she poured the last of the wine.
'What will you do once you have all that power?' Nisha waited until they had ignored her the correct amount of time to show there was nothing else they needed before backing away.
'I think the issue with it at the moment is it’s spreading everything equally, like most things it needs some discipline, some direction. If we could focus it to benefit a few people, or a person it would be much better.'
'Then everyone would benefit by extension. Rising tides and all that,’ the man said as Nisha stood by the kitchen doors and listened.

2023.04.01 12:35 moondog151 "The Huang Yanqiu Incident" A rural villager would on three separate occasions go missing after going to bed only to wake up in a major city thousands of miles away and arrived in the city faster than he should've been possible given the distance.

Huang Yanqiu was born in 1956 in Dongbeigao Village in China's Hebei province. Little is known about his early life aside from the fact that he worked as a farmer in the village and his mother passed away while he was a child.

Huang Yanqiu
On July 27, 1977, Huang was 21 years old and still working as a farmer. Huang was recently engaged and planned on marrying his fiancee after the harvest season and the couple recently began building themselves a new home. At 10:00 PM Huang had just finished his farm work for the day and went to bed in his unfinished home. That was the last anyone had seen of Huang for a while as the next morning when the village woke up on July 28 Huang was nowhere to be found.
The village was greatly alarmed by Huang's disappearance and initiated a massive search effort to try and find him but there was no trace of Huang anywhere to be found. This worried and confused the villagers especially Huang's family as Huang never travelled far and only had a primary school level education. They searched the surrounding roads, ponds, cliffs and other unknown locations to try and find him and even contacted the nearest hospitals and police to ask if any unidentified bodies had been discovered but to no avail.
Fortunately, Huang would be found alive and unharmed but this only resulted in more questions. 10 days later on August 6 the village committee received a telegram from Shanghai. The telegram said that Huang was being held at a deportation center and that they were hoping for a local to come and pick him up. The telegram was late to arrive because it was accidentally addressed to the wrong village. There was just one problem, the telegram from Shanghai was dated at 9:AM on July 28 less than half a day after his disappearance. Huang was later returned by the police in Shanghai and it was indeed Huang. There was just one problem, Huang being in Shanghai that soon should've been impossible.
Huang was questioned by his fellow villagers and he could not provide an answer. According to him, he went to bed and when at 6:00 or 7:00 AM he was awoken by a loud noise, this noise wasn't that of the farm animals but instead the sounds of vehicles and numerous people. When he fully awoke he found himself on a sidewalk and that around him were cars, neon lights and tall buildings/skyscrapers. He wondered around and saw writing on the various buildings and businesses which said things such as "Nanjing Shopping Center", "Nanjing Restaurant", and "Nanjing Pharma" and that nearby was a large "swimming pool" which he later found out was Lake Xuanwu. It didn't take Huang long to realize that somehow he was in Nanjing the capital city of Jiangsu Province located 485 miles away from his home village.
While Huang who was now in complete and utter shock at his circumstance walked aimlessly around the unfamiliar city until he was stopped and approached by two police officers. Huang due to his state of shock and disbelief could barely answer their questions. When they asked Huang what he was doing or who he was he simply said that he was "really lost" the two officers led Huang to the Nanjing Rail Station and gave him a ticket to Shanghai and told Huang that they would be waiting for him and once he arrived he'd be taken to a "repatriation camp" for migrants and those without a hukou document. Huang not knowing what else to do and being in no position to disobey or resist bordered the train. 4 hours later the train pulled into Shanghai station and Huang headed out for the first police station he could find and to his confusion, the exact same police officers from Nanjing were already waiting for him despite being out of their jurisdiction, not boarding the train before him and most of all the train was the fastest method available at the time to travel between the two cities and the officers did not bored the train. Arriving to Shanghai before Huang should be straight-up impossible.
The two officers refused to let Huang enter the police station in Shanghai and instead dropped Huang off at the repatriation camp in Shanghai. Huang first told his story to a PLA soldier at the camp named Lü Qingtang and added the detail that the police officers in question were likely from Shandong province based on the ticket he was given. Huang stayed in the camp much longer than expected as when Huang woke up in Nanjing he didn't have any of his identity documents and when the telegrams were sent out to the village to come collect Huang they erroneously addressed them to Xinzhai Village instead of Dongbeigao Village. The confusion was only cleared up after Huang was identified via a birthmark and because the PLA soldier Huang talked to had relatives in the village.
As mentioned any questions the villagers had were multiplied as opposed to answered. Huang arriving in Nanjing that soon should be impossible. At the time trains in China were too slow to make such a fast trip. The nearest rail station was in the city of Handan which Huang would've had to find his way to in the dark despite having never even been to Handan before. But even if he did make it to Handan all by himself with next to no money the train would take 1 whole day to reach Nanjing as opposed to the 9-10 hours between when Huang went to sleep and when he woke up. And this is without taking into account the waiting time for the train to arrive at Haidan station and trains were notoriously late back them sometimes even being held back by an entire day and tickets were expensive.
Other methods of transportation also wouldn't work out. Planes and civilian aviation travel in China was still very new and of course expensive. The entirety of Hebei Province only had a tiny handful of airports with the closest one being in the north near Beijing located on the complete opposite side of Hebei from where Huang lived. It was deemed highly unlikely for Huang to make the trip there by himself especially as he wouldn't know the way and even if he did somehow make it to the airport there would still be the issue of paying for a ticket. A car also wouldn't work as nobody in Dongbeigao village owned a vehicle and even having a bicycle was considered immensely expensive and outside the means of the villagers. And even if he could use any of these methods it still wouldn't explain the short time as to even get from Dongbeigao village to the nearest city Handan would take 4 hours to drive from the village to the city by car. There was also the question of why Huang would assuming he wasn't lying would do this. Huang had never mentioned Nanjing or Shanghai at any point prior and the fact that leaving their ancestral village and families was frowned upon. How Huang made it to Nanjing in such a short amount of time is unknown but most villagers were prepared to accept it as a strange oddity and move on while others dismissed Huang as lying or bragging about visiting a city. That was until it happened again.
On September 8, 1977, it was harvest season in the village again and Huang and his fellow villagers were made to do backbreaking work during a meeting held by the village cadres. At 10:00 PM the head of the village gave Huang and a few other villagers permission to leave and go to bed early as long as they send and deliever manure/fertilizer the next morning. They all took the cadres up on this offer and went to sleep. The next morning on September 9 the villagers arrived at the fertiliser storage area only to notice that Huang was missing. Thinking that he had overslept they all went to his house only to find it empty. Something different caught their eye however, Carved into his bedroom wall was a message and that message said "Shandong Gao Dengmin, Gao Yanjin Relax"
Just like the last time Huang was in Shanghai and was quickly sent back to the village on September 11 and this time there were witnesses both in Shanghai and Dongbeigao. A majority of the village witnessed Huang go to his house and sleep before his disappearance the next morning and just like with his first disappearance Huang couldn't explain it.
According to Huang, he woke up at The Shanghai Rail Station due to a cold breeze, the same one the two mysterious police officers sent him to. Huang was again startled by his surroundings as it was the middle of the night and according to the Station's clock tower, it was 2:00 AM and as far as Huang could see there were no other people and the only light came from the stars and moon. Not only had Huang unknowingly travelled a far distance in an impossibly short time but he also did it at an inopportune time because along with the darkness Huang was constantly startled by the sound of thunder, lighting and battered by heavy rain and high winds because Typhon Babe had recently made landfall near Shanghai.
Huang who was now even more terrified than he was before could only think of Lü Qingtang, Lü was the PLA soldier who helped him after his first trip to Shanghai and was the one who ultimately helped him return home due to his relatives in the village. Lü was not only the only person Huang could think to help him but he was also the only person he knew at all in Shanghai. Finding Lü was not going to be easy as Huang wouldn't be able to navigate Shanghai at all let alone during a typhoon in the middle of the night with no people in sight.
As Huang began to walk he heard a voice coming from behind him hearing a man say "Hello there, you must be Huang Yanqiu of Feixiang County. Trying to head to the artillery division?" this shocked him immensely and he quickly turned back to see who this person was. When he turned around he saw two men dressed in military uniforms. They told Huang that they were soldiers belonging Lü's division and were assigned to pick him up from the railway station.
Huang followed the men who took various ferries and buses before arriving at the "artillery division" located in what is today the Pudong District. Despite how heavily guarded the area is the guards let Huang and the two men pass without issue. They then went to where Lü lived with his family and they were completely shocked to see them as well as Huang again. Lü however, wasn't home at the time. His wife Li Yuying was surprised that the three were even at their home because according to Li "When a relative comes to visit, they have to show their legal documents and sign in at the gate, we'll then come down and confirm their identities, then they can finally be let in. No way the guards and soldiers would let them in without any proceedings!" and years later Lü's son when questioned about the case would say that the two solider's uniforms looked off, he commented that . "...their uniforms looked quite the ordinary, yet not very fitting, especially their visors. One's shoes and visor are the most important part of the uniform,... their visors were too big, and their uniforms seem to have been borrowed, too."
Before his family could question the two they simply walked away and couldn't be found again. Huang being at the base was a major security violation and officials interrogated the guards on duty who all claimed to have never seen Huang and the two soldiers at any point. Once Lü returned home another telegram was sent directly to the head of Dongbeigao Village and they wanted to know every last detail about Huang and who exactly he was with the telegram even straight up asking if Huang was a spy. They received a response from the head of the village, telling them that Huang was just a farmer with no ill intent. Without any other information, the army decided to send Huang back to the village but sternly warned him that he'd be arrested if they ever see him again. He returned home on September 11. In their official reports the military was unable to explain how Huang got to Shanghai so quickly and managed to get into the base.
Due to the multitude of witnesses testifying that Huang went to sleep in the village and the military confirming that he was in Shanghai all those who felt that Huang was lying about his travels soon had their doubts erased. Huang became the most talked about resident of the village and not in a good way as he became the main subject of all the local gossip, rumours and of course superstitions. Many thought that he was possessed or haunted with that being the reason for his seemingly supernatural speed and ability to travel such short distances. The constant attention took a mental toll on Huang's fiance who sued his family for 200 yuan due to "reputational damages" and divorced him. This financially and emotionally ruined Huang and it was when he was at his lowest that the third and final incident happened.
Huang continued his work as a farmer and labourer for the village and on September 20, 1977, he had finished his work for the day and began walking home. According to Huang, however, so tired that he ended up passing out in the yard in front of his house and went missing again. He would stay missing until September 28 when he was found under a Jujube tree in the village and when asked where he had been he told them about the most extraordinary story yet.
According to him, after he passed out in front of his home he woke up and instead of on the sidewalk or in a deserted train station during typhoon season he instead found himself in a luxury hotel room. He looked around and behind him, he saw the same two men from the first two incidents. This time, however, they were both dressed in civilian clothing and introduced themselves. They told Huang that they were brothers from Shandong Province and identified themselves as Gao Dengmin, 26, and Gao Yanjin, 25. Huang also estimated that they were around 170 cm tall. They told Huang that they were the cause behind his disappearances and that they dressed as police and soldiers to help him find his way home, they said that they had something special planned for Huang and that during the next 9 days, they would take him to 9 major cities. Huang asked where he was right now and the brothers told him that it was still September 20 and that he was in Lanzhou located in China's Gansu Province the furthest he has ever been from home.

A composite sketch of the two created by the police
Soon Huang would learn how he had travelled so far so quickly because the next day on September 21 they made Huang climb onto their back and as Huang would later state "They took off" and quite literally flew away with just their bodies. Huang said that they were "flying" at a low altitude and that he didn't feel any wind, he also recounted that the brothers took turns carrying him on their back. In over an hour, the three had arrived in Beijing. They first went to the Chang'an Grand Theater without tickets and just like at the army base nobody stopped them. They watched an opera performance of Forced Onto Mt. Liang. Their next stop was Tiananmen Square and were in front of a Huabiao. The brothers who were now speaking standard Mandarin instead of their dialects introduced Huang to the surrounding areas and checked into a hotel showing the staff a "provincial-level introduction letter" for registration. That same day they then flew to Tianjin where they snuck into a movie theatre without tickets and watched a movie.
On September 22 they arrived in Harbin located in Heilongjiang Province. In Harbin, they visited a department store and then visited Changchun in Jilin Province. On September 23 they went to Shenyang in Liaoning Province. On September 25 they visited Fuzhou in Fujian Province before visiting Nanjing. They spend the next day in Nanjing. On September 27 they visited Xi'an in Shaanxi Province for the Mid-Autumn Festival. Also on September 27, they made their last stop returning to Lanzhou. When Huang went to sleep in their hotel room he woke up under the jujube tree mentioned earlier and was back in Dongbeigao Village
They travelled to every city via the brothers flying and according to Huang no matter how close or how far the city was the time it took to get there was always 1 hour. He also noted that the brothers could speak the local dialects of all the provinces they visited and whenever they went to hotels the brothers always had a "provincial-level introduction letter". One of the brothers always watched Huang while the other would borrow clothing such as police or military uniforms from somewhere Huang didn't know. Clothing and yuan for the accommodations and meals were the only items the brothers carried as they didn't seem to own items such as bags and wallets. Aside from their ability to fly to anywhere they wanted and their strange behaviour such as only carrying clothes and money, Huang said that they were seemingly normal human beings in every other aspect and ate and slept like anyone else. They also had the same body temperature as anyone else would The only rules they seemed to have were that Huang was not allowed to photograph them or anything and he couldn't keep any souvenirs from his trips. When Huang asked why they singled him out they wouldn't respond and when he asked if they could teach him how to fly like them or tell him how they learnt to do it they gave a firm "No" as their answer. Just as they had told him in the 9 days he was missing they had visited 9 different cities.

A map of his travels
Huang was the talk of the village all over again and the superstitions that gods or ghosts were responsible continued. Eventually, the gossip around Huang had gotten to the point that the local police, propaganda department and the nearest military base had heard of Huang's story and began a very extensive investigation into Huang. Offical's believed that he was purposefully sabotaging the village's production and reputation and proceeded to classify him as a "class enemy" While being interrogated his behaviour was found to be "normal" and he showed no signs of mental illness or cognitive disorders. After they were unable to find any evidence of Huang being a threat they reluctantly let him go and revoked his "class enemy" status.
Huang's story became well known throughout China and is one of the country's most famous alleged paranormal events and even the government officially declares his case as "unexplained" This is not the end of Huang's story though.
On December 14, 2004, the case was reinvestigated by Zhang Jingping, an investigator of the Beijing Branch of the China UFO Association, Ji Jianmin, the chairman of the Feixiang UFO Association, and Dr. Wu, a famous Chinese hypnotist, professor of Peking University Medical Department. There was rather conclusive evidence of Huang's first two incidents as numerous witnesses as well as official telegrams all confirm that Huang had gone to sleep in his home village only to appear in Shanghai but there was far more doubt as to if he had been to any of the cities mentioned during his third disappearance.
Huang was put under hypnosis and asked what happened and he told the doctor the same story he did back in 1977. Huang eventually woke up from the hypnotic state claiming that one of the two brothers made him wake up. In 2004 a documentary was made by CCTV and several interviews and tests were conducted during the documentary. He was subjected to a polygraph test and he ended up failing the test and Huang refused to accept these results. Those administering the tests also admitted that Huang's declining memory, the 27-year gap between the test and the incident and the stress of being subjected to such a test for the first time may affect the results. During the documentary, the police based on Huang's descriptions also created composite sketches of Gao Dengmin and Gao Yanjin. Due to the advancement in China's transportation infrastructure, Huang was brought to Nanjing and he was able to retrace his steps and attempt to recreate his journey from the sidewalk to the former then non-existent military base.
They then brought Huang to the physiatric division of Beijing Anding Hospital where the lead doctor after reading his statements said that the brothers would've been travelling at supersonic speeds and that Huang had been sleepwalking or lying. Although nobody defended him from claims of sleepwalking his fellow villagers all refused to entertain the possibility that Huang was purposefully lying to them. They cited Huang's lack of motivation or ability to travel, how he travelled to Shanghai in such a short amount of time and how he had no reason to lie about it since telling his story caused him to become a laughing stock and lost him his fiance. Huang quite literally gain nothing from telling this story and it severely affected him negatively. Aside from a lack of evidence others supporting the lying theory state that Huang only claimed to have visited major cities prompting some to speculate that he just picked them out from a map and that oddly enough he never visited Shijiazhuang which is the capital of Hebei, the province that Huang actually lives in.
Huang was examined by other psychologists and mental health professionals who deemed Huang to be sane which is the source of the sleepwalking theory.
As this theory suggests, Huang was sleepwalking when he made his way to Nanjing and that the stories of the two brothers were just dreams he had while sleepwalking. Various Chinese netizens don't view this theory as credible since Huang while sleepwalking would need to either walk all the way to the train station in Handan (which would take 4 hours to drive to by car) and buy a tick with money he didn't have all while asleep. And while still sleeping once the train stopped in Zhengzhou he would've sleepwalked onto the next train to Shanghai all with nobody noticing he was sleepwalking and waking him up. Just to be sure though doctors performed an MRI scan of Huang's brain and the results came back normal.
The third theory is that Huang suffered from multiple personality disorder and that Gao Dengmin and Gao Yanjin were in fact Huang himself and that he just perceived them as different people due to his disorder. The Gao personalities are the ones that actually travel to the locations only for Huang's normal personality to take over once he arrives at the destination hence him waking up. This theory also states that Huang flying on their backs is actually just a fantasy of Huang Yanqiu's repressed personality. This theory doesn't stand up to scrutiny as various Mental Health officials have found Huang sane and that he would've shown signs of multiple personality disorder before and after the three incidents. This theory also wouldn't explain the short travel times and Lü Qingtang's wife and son also witnessing the two as separate people.
There is one more theory though it is from those who want to believe that it is all real and that Huang is telling the truth and that UFOs may be involved.
They looked further into Huang's claims to try and find any proof that he was in the cities mentioned during his third disappearance. According to one source when describing the weather they matched up with geological data at the time but this appears to be unconfirmed. A journalist went to the Chang'an Grand Theater in Beijing to look through their records and see if they ever held the same performance Huang claimed to have seen.
He discovered that the theatre closed due to the 1976 Tangshan Earthquake and wouldn't reopen until 1979 meaning that Huang could not have seen any performances in that theatre. However, there was another theatre nearby named the Jixiang Theater and they were open in 1977 and on September 21, 1977, the day Huang claimed to be in Beijing they held a performance of Forced Onto Mt. Liang. This journalist ruled that Huang hailing from a small and rural village could've easily confused two nearby and similar theatres in an unfamiliar environment such as the major city of Beijing.
There are also those who agree that Huang travelled at nearly supersonic speeds but instead have a more terrestrial explanation and that Huang fell victim to military experimentation.
This theory states that the military flew Huang to these cities for various experiments and that the Gao brothers were high-ranking officials in charge of the experiments. They then drugged Huang and made him undergo hypnosis to make him forget what he experienced. Many are skeptical of this theory because if the Chinese government wanted to conduct human experimentation they had a myriad of death row inmates and political prisons to draw upon so why instead abduct an innocuous rural farmer from his small village?
"The Huang Yanqiu Incident" remains one of China's most infamous unsolved mysteries but as of now, there have been no new developments as a now 67-year-old Huang has opted to live a quiet life in his village away from the cameras. The last bit of news from Huang came from 2008 when he underwent another round of mental evaluations
