2023.06.06 19:25 SweetStrawberry4U How to deal with BS-detector interviewers despite misinterpretations ?
I've been working as an Android Engineer for well over 12 years now, with an overall experience of 19 years, and I still can't.
Some anecdotes here, although two entirely different interviews and two entirely different interviewers.
Interview-1
- What can you do to improve User experience on the main-page / home-page or dashboard, whatever you might want to call it, in an app ? Particularly in places where the network connectivity is weak, say free wifi in a coffee-shop. When there's a lot of people connected to the same wifi and it slows-down significantly, we still want smooth and quick user-experience in our app. ( of course, this was a retail client, but then, such a broad question by an experienced interviewer who introduced himself as an Architect would be business-domain specific or cross-business generality ? )
My Answer was somewhat in these lines - Fetching all the data at once, which will certainly take time just hypothetically, theoritically, vaguely considering the response json size, all the while displaying a loading indicator, 15 seconds, 45 seconds etc, is what a poor user experience would be. So, we break-up that huge json into multiple different components, different API end-points and display piece-by-piece. As and how these multiple response json are received by the app asynchronously, we halt the loading indicator and begin displaying each component stand-alone all by itself. It's like, first we display category-2 because the json arrived first, then category-4, then we do custom animation to slide-down category-4 and display category-3, and finally when category-1 arrives, we do the same custom animation to slide-down category-2 and display category-1. something in those lines.
- Follow-up question - But that's the problem. we cannot break-up the response json ? The listings within all categories are all together, and each list-item further has at least 1 image, because it's a saleable item.
Now I get it, this is a retail app specific question. If so, each image is fetched independently after all list-items are received and displayed. As in, images are fetched AFTER display is rendered. One optimization I can think of is to begin fetching images asynchronously, each for each list-item, as soon as the main-response is received, without waiting until the full home-page / dashboard is displayed to the User.
- Further follow-up question. That doesn't answer my question, as in improving User-experience significantly ? What if the list is way very large, like 200 or even 500 items ? As many images we are fetching asynchronously. So each image-area in the UI is either displaying a loading indicator or some static back-up image of some sort. Still a very poor user-experience.
Thinking to myself that clearly, no satisfactory answer as yet about good user-experience on the home-screen in a poor network connectivity scenario. How about Pagination ( not a very different answer from the original answer, breaking up the one main json, just pages now ) ? Why not display 20 or 30 items only, all categories but few items each, allowing User to navigate to a category detailed-list page, that too will have pagination.
- The whole problem lies in fetching large data, and on top of it, rendering high-quality images, in a poor network connectivity location. Why not just send latest or the least network connectivity speeds to the image server so it can respond with appropriate quality low memory foot-print image bytes ? Someone who's worked with Android for over a decade should have identified this as a problem and should be explaining this.
Me thinking again ( facepalm !! whatever happened to scalar and vector graphics support in Android ? Always fetch the least memory foot-print image from the servers under any network connectivity scenario, and image-rendering libraries will do their part in the app ? how did we even move from optimizing dashboard experience to sending network connectivity speeds to the servers ? when, and how was I supposed to guess that in this entire conversation ? Is this even an interview question, or a technical detailed brain-storming in an org invoving stake-holders, backend engineers, api-engineers.. yada yada yada... This would be an entire project right within itself.)
- Same interview, another question. What is better, Dagger-2 or Service-Locator for Dependency Management ?
If Dagger is done correctly then that is better. The big problem is that Modules and dependencies via components and sub-components are not declared correctly, mostly what I have experienced. PaymentsViewModel can receive a LoginRepository or LoginUseCase injectable, although they are completely unrelated, and there is absolutely never a scenario that they will interact ever. Service-Locator just bloats the memory. A service-locator has mappings from class / interface to it's concrete-instance, or a factory-instance that will generate the concrete-instance and such. Anyways, service-locator is prepared ready for use by pre-instantiating it's components, or lazy-instantiations, eitherways once it's in there, it is there. The larger the app code-base, the bigger the service-locators become, then there will be service-locators for service-locators.
- Dagger-2 is inefficient because reclaiming memory is a mess, in fact that doesn't happen even. Also, instantiating injections at run-time is slower. Eitherways it's a performance hit. Service-locator can be programmatically customized for better memory management. I'd expect someone with over a decade of experience... yada yada yada....
Facepalm again !!! Aren't Kotlin and Android advocating strongly for fly-weight instantiations on-the-go, and leave it up for the GC, which is what Dagger-2 follows ? Isn't Dagger-2 just generated code for establishing a chain-of-objects, and has nothing to do with instance retaining at run-time unlike Service Locators, at least when implemented correctly ? A ViewModel isn't instantiated and unavailable unless the Fragment is instantiated that needs it as an injectable, and so the rest of the chain-of-objects, repository or use-case, retrofit-api etc ? And don't this entire chain-of-objects clear their memory as soon as the Fragment is destroyed, which is bound to happen as soon as it is no longer associated with it's parent activity fragment-manager ? If this is about Bindings and such, isn't Dagger-2 suggesting to avoid it ? And Service-Locator is more efficient than Dagger-2, which is what Bindings are in Dagger-2 ? Yeah, get me out of here.
Interview-2
- what is the difference between native and hybrid apps ?
I have never ever worked with hybrid, only native, but here goes - Native apps use native development practices - SDK, guidelines, syncs well with the device etc. Hybrid uses other thirdparty development practices, typically javascript based, that then generates native apps, typically losing out on the most recent and latest components. Native works great with device system api such as BLE, camera, mic, volume etc, while Hybrid, at least as far as the developer community says, doesn't integrate that seamlessly.
- No you are describing everything about crossplatform apps.
Wait, isn't hybrid intended for crossplatform. So are hybrid and crossplatform also different ? how so ?Isn't KMM intended as crossplatform for iOS ? Isn't React-framework hybrid because isn't it intended for cross-platform, like same code-base for all three web, iOS and Android apps ?
- Anyways, moving on. what are the sdk components in Android ?
Sdk components ? Like, Gradle, AGP, annotation-processors like aapt, kapt ?
- There are 7 sdk components in Android.
7 ? Is this a google search question ?
- Nevermind. What is Android architecture ?
Fundamentally, Android is MVC.
- No, MVC is structural pattern.
MVC is not a design pattern. It is an Architecture Pattern. Other types, that are more fine-grained than MVC are MVP, MVVM, VIPER, Redux but they all are again MVC right in the core of implementation. Without MVC no enterprise pattern exists.
- But that's not what I am asking. Anyways, what frameworks have you used ?
Frameworks like dependency libraries for a specific functionality and purpose ? Okhttp3 for network handshakes, retrofit for RESTful API on top of OkHttp3, Dagger-2 for dependency-management.
- No, intent is a framework in Android. Just like that, what other frameworks have you used ?
Yeah, in the interest of each other's time, we should end this meeting. Thinking to myself ( way too many interpretation and miscommunication issues, right from the start. Are terminology and nomenclature really industry-standard ? Are "components" and "frameworks" interchangeable ? Are "frameworks" not the same as "libraries" ? Facepalm !!
TLDR ;-
Been working as a Contractor, for about 15 years now, overall about 2 decades of experience. Out of a project for 5 weeks now, glad I am currently on a GC-EAD. I hate tech interviews of all kinds.
Thanks for reading through this rant !!

2023.06.06 19:24 ProKoyote LEGIT or SKIP? Qmee:
Is Qmee legit… or should you skip? Short answer:
LEGIT $1 Bonus on Payout with
referral Explanation What is Qmee? Qmee is a survey taking site that also offers cashback and gaming reward options!
What makes Qmee unique? Instantaneous payouts. No matter your balance, Qmee will pay you out immediately upon request with either PayPal or Venmo (gift cards available as well).
Qmee also has a browser extension that finds survey opportunities for you while you browse
The strength of instant payouts is you can be selective about which surveys are worth your time and not press yourself to do a bad or low earning survey JUST to payout.
How much can you earn? It varies significantly on the time you input. I made $199.04 last month using Qmee while only putting a couple hours maximum a day. I’ve also been juggling other responsibilities and online work so it could’ve been more. Additionally, it ebbs and flows. During holidays, surveys are usually slower and worse paying, but other times they can be very high paying and abundant.
Where is Qmee available? Qmee is available in the USA, UK, CA, AUS
Conclusion Qmee is a LEGIT survey service that payouts to its users, and I do recommend it as one of my first options for quick cash.

2023.06.06 19:23 Excellent-Review3718 Please throw some ideas out there about threats that are supposed to be jokes
I'm trying to leave but he knows I love the dog. Right now I'm afraid to show attention to the dog because then he'll have confirmation that the dog is the only thing I'm trying to salvage, which means he might take the dog away from me. I have a whole sneaky plan and I have to be an incredible actor for the next 4 days.
SIDE NOTE: I AM NOT INTERESTED IN HEARING "LEAVE WITHOUT THE DOG." IF THAT'S YOUR COMMENT, SAY NOTHING. ADDITIONALLY, I KNOW I NEED TO LEAVE. I DON'T NEED ANY COMMENTS BESIDES THE ONES I ASKED FOR. I know what will be helpful to me and what I asked for in the title is what will help me right now. No extra comments please. Ok thanks
Here is the thing I want advice on: He makes "jokes" that are just threats. He has done this hundreds of times over a period of 6 years. Here's one from today: “What if I punch this dog in the head as hard as I possibly can?” He says it in a creepy, light-hearted tone and that's supposed to be a joke. When I ask him not to make violent threats as jokes, he screams at me. He has at one point strangled the dog 3 years ago and only stopped because I dragged him off the dog. He makes "jokes" where he just calmly states that he will stab the dog in the eyes.
Please help me understand why he does this and how it fits into the cycle of power and control. Please dialogue with me about whether or not it is remotely possible for this to be a genuine joke. Additionally, am I being uptight for not laughing at violent jokes?
He says a "normal" person would laugh at violent jokes and we're just "incompatible" and it's "pathetic" that those jokes scare me. I kind of already know the answers, but I'm asking these questions that seem rhetorical because I need to unbrainwash myself. Thanks in advance

2023.06.06 19:22 rpthrowaway1236 [M4F] Looking for new long term partner
Howdy! I've recently found myself having a lot of time on my hands and have gotten back into roleplaying after being out of it for a bit. Thus I'm looking for a new partner! The genres I prefer are Sci fi, fantasy, and Historical with a little romance tied in but not the main focus of the plot but I am more than willing to try anything my partner suggests! I use discord and third person. I have only a couple of things I require.
BE AN ADULT for the love of god I will not speak to anybody who is not 18+
Be semi-literate. I don't care much about length of reply but rather just looking for correct spelling and ability to understand your point.
I like having occ and getting to know my partners so if you're not looking to basically become friends as well Move on :]
if you are interested in being a partner with me please reply to me with more than just "hi" or "rp" If you send these to me I will likely ignore you.
Be somewhat active. I can personally send multiple replies in a day (at least for the moment this might change a bit in the future) so please don't send like one reply a day and then disappear.
I know that seems like a lot but a couple years of having nothing but bad partners you really crave having good ones so I've set a couple of groundrules. I personally at the moment do not have any plots or prompts so if you have any I will love to hear them! I love creating stories with my partners that are actually interesting so if you're the creative type please message me!! :D I hope to hear from you

2023.06.06 19:22 LionOfWinter Trying to come up a good answer to an obvious question/plot hole
Hi there, as the title says, in the process of world building my story I am trying to come up with a good answer to what I feel like is an obvious question a reader would ask upon learning the full picture.
The key parts of the story you need to know to answer this are; Magic in my universe is the manipulation of an element that people call Cinder (due to its appearance when examined). There are whole nebulas of this stuff in the Cosmos, and sometimes it can tear over a world like a storm. The gods of the world shield it (sorta like our atmosphere). There was a battle between the Gods of the Story world and "interloper" gods who arrive after the destruction of their world. Above the Gods of the world are three creator deities and a destroyer deity. Effectively, the whole history of my universe is a Cosmic game of cat and mouse and whack a mole. Where the creators seed life and eons later the world is inevitable found out by the destroyer and consumed. This time around, some gods survived. That leads to the battle mentioned above. The surviving world gods and the interloper gods agree to a truce to protect the world from the Cinders, but overall they are reduced in numbers, so it now requires their full attention. Additionally, I am assuming the World Gods learned of the Destroyer Deity from the part mad interloper gods. So the Gods withdrawal from the daily lives of the mortals.
My question is WHY wouldn't the gods tell their worshipers? I am defaulting to "nothing they can do, pointless, "An ant has no quarrel with a boot", etc" but that seems like not a great answer? Maybe I am overthinking it.

2023.06.06 19:21 OregonSmallClaims Norm Finally Filed a So-Called "Brief"
| Norm's been attempting to appeal the CT verdicts. Well, he's BEEN "defending" Joe Biggs, but he's been filing requests for postponements in various appeals in CT courts, including regarding the verdicts. But he finally got around to filing his "brief" in one of the cases: https://appellateinquiry.jud.ct.gov/DocumentDisplayer.aspx?AppId=2&DocId=umGnhfkozMK5cCdcXStifw%3d%3d That is not ... brief. Fuck you, Norm. Starting off strong. I just ... I can't ... I have no words. \"Driving\" him to bankruptcy, indeed. Maybe when the NAMED PLAINTIFF can afford life-saving medical treatments, I'll feel a TEENSY bit more sorry for poor Alex Jones. Fuck you, Norm. This is Norma painting his client in the best possible light? And \"just how often is unknown,\" WHY, Norm? Because he deleted evidence despite the lawsuit and discovery rules that he must retain everything? Fuck you, Norm. Ooh, now he gets to talk about the political stuff--the judge can't silence him in appeals court! Fuck you, Norm. I sure hope the judge reads the record on their own and doesn't take Norm's word for it. And yes, he continued to \"battle\" discovery requests because despite the default liability, an AMOUNT still had to be determined, and he hadn't provided evidence to support that portion of the trial, either. Fuck you, Norm. I'm going to run out of allowable pictures, because each paragraph is as ridiculous as the last. Pretty sure asking about what the plaintiffs knew about AJ wasn't prohibited, and was even asked during trial. And they wouldn't have needed the financial estimates if he had provided actual financial records. Fuck you, Norm. The plaintiffs were never ALLOWED to prove their case, Norm, because your client obstructed justice at every step of the way. I mean \"leveraged the disorganization of Mr. Jones.\" Fuck you, Norm. He's talking about the three reasons the court gave for the default judgment. I'd say \"cavalier actions\" and \"willful misconduct\" are understatements, Norm. And the \"subsidiary ledger\" was, indeed, sanitized and inaccurate, and was the only financial document produced, despite multiple requests for better ones. And yes, Google Analytics were a big piece and were never revealed until the infamous phone dump, so yeah. What's your point? Fuck you, Norm. First, what is this formatting? Learn to use Word, dude. But also, I seem to recall a now-famous saying: \"Speech is free, but lies you have to pay for.\" Fuck you, Norm. I need to not screenshot as much, so here's a quote: E. The Trial Court's Reasons For Issuing The Default Are Unsupported By The Record. - There Was No Underlying Violation of a Protective Order; If There Were, This Court Would Surely Have Referred Counsel For Discipline, as it Was Wont to Do in this Case. [punctuation and capitalization from the original, formatting much improved--E was indented nearly to the middle, and 1 TO the middle of the page in the original]
Various protective orders were entered in this case designed and intended to protect proprietary information of the defendants and confidential information involving the plaintiffs. Indeed, one order designated all deposition of the plaintiffs confidential/attorney's eyes only. Yeah, there were protective orders. Which AJ and his attorneys repeatedly violated. I seem to recall some phone and very private medical data that wended its way through multiple non-authorized hands before finally winding up in open court through a series of very unfortunate (for AJ's case, and for the plaintiffs if their information was viewed inappropriately) events. Fuck you, Norm. How about, one of them managed to find a lawyer that dared face down Alex Jones in court (relished it, even!), and since *gasp* they actually know how to communicate with each other, that one told the others, until *shocker* they all retained the same couple of attorneys, depending which state they preferred to litigate in. Such conspiracy. Much suspicious. I'm disregarding the political stuff completely. Fuck you, Norm. Okay, I need to not screenshot literally every paragraph, as I know Reddit limits the number of "photos" a post can have. Go read it yourself, it's truly sickeningly ironically disgustingly humorous in a dark humor sort of way. The judge shouldn't have sanctioned them for the bad financial records because there wasn't a hearing. I mean, it's not like there were multiple orders to produce ACTUAL financial records and not just take Alex's word for how poor he and the company were. Also, it wasn't willful misconduct, it was "the result of a shocking degree of disorganization," so AJ and his attorneys shouldn't be held responsible! How could they have known that a business, let alone one undergoing a civil lawsuit, should have organized financial records? Don't be ridiculous! Fuck you, Norm. And again, remember this is a person being paid handsomely to represent Alex Jones in the best possible light in both the lawsuit and the resulting appeals. And I quote: "The default prevented a jury from learning the truth about the defendants' corporate organization - it is a haphazard warren of people drawn together by Mr. Jones's charisma and generosity [har!], but almost altogether devoid of institutional structure or normal corporate governance." Okay, as an accountant who has used QuickBooks, this is preposterous. Ms. Flores \"clicked in QuickBooks\" and generated reports, and took them (as instructed) to Mr. Roe. He realized they wouldn't look good for Alex and plugged them into Excel to massage the data, and was caught when things didn't tie out. They could have EASILY produced standard financial statements straight out of QuickBooks but PURPOSELY did not. It's not hard to understand. Fuck you, Norm. And then he goes on and on about Google Analytics and how simultaneously it's accessible to the public and they shouldn't have needed to produce any evidence themselves (despite multiple court orders to do so, and later clear evidence that they HAD the evidence the court ordered them to provide) but yet also is so difficult to learn how to use that it takes specialized training. Fuck you, Norm. HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!! *gasp* HA HA HA HA HA HA HA. This is EXACTLY \"a case in which the defendants failed to answer, ... failed to respond to discovery [and] otherwise failed to participate in the proceedings.\" What do you think actually happened, Norm? And regarding the heading: "Any sanctions should have been limited to permissive adverse inferences the jury should have been free to draw." Yep. The judge decided that the refusals to cooperate had finally reached such an egregious level that the jury was "free to draw" the inference that Alex was GUILTY GUILTY GUILTY (aka "liable" in civil proceedings) of the things the lawsuit accused him of, such that all that was left for the jury to actually have to decide was how much he owed. As was her right and obligation. Fuck you, Norm. The paragraph goes on to say "the harsh remedy of default should be reserved for those parties who fail to participate in, or respond to, judicial proceedings." Again, WHAT DO YOU THINK ACTUALLY HAPPENED IN THIS CASE, NORM???? Believe it or not, Norm, you and the judge do agree on this point. Fuck you, Norm. So because they didn't bring the on-the-ground harassers into court, the case is meritless? Never mind all the evidence that AJ has influence over people who believe him mindlessly? Never mind all the evidence of the harassment these families actually endured at the hands of various actors, all spurred on by Alex Jones? Were you even in the Trial? Fuck you, Norm. And, of course, Section III is all about how poor Alex Jones couldn't even stand up for himself in court. Poor, poor Alex Jones. So sad for him that he couldn't rant in open court about how unfair the world was to him, the clear victim in all of this. Fuck you, Norm. And then we get to the part about how the monetary damages "shocks the sense of justice:" "The plaintiffs never had any intention to attempt proof of compensatory damages." You're right, Norm. Because a lot of their actual counseling expenses were covered by funds established after the tragedy, and it's hard to compile the actual expenses associated with the harassment they endured, they instead just got up on the stand, told their stories, and asked the jury to award what they felt was right, including asking for an amount that would "stop Alex Jones." That's exactly what they did. Is that a bad thing? Fuck you, Norm. He also complains that the various family members dared to talk about their lost loved one's life BEFORE the tragedy, as if they were required to only testify about the harassment and nothing else leading up to that. Fuck you, Norm. Another quote: "The plaintiffs sought to hold Mr. Jones accountable. But accountable for what? Simply for the harm he caused. All they could obtain was money damages." See, Norm? You DO get it! If they could sue for getting all the harm done by the harassment undone, they would have. Sure, AJ didn't cause the loss of their loved one, so they still would have undergone that loss. But if each of the families could have gone back in time and had the celebration of their loved ones life that they WANTED, untarnished by the public doing things like harassing them at the literal door to the funeral, posting horrendous things on memorial social media pages, and PEEING ON THE GRAVES, I'm sure they would have preferred that to the monetary award. If they could have gone about the process of grieving with the support of their families, unbothered by randos claiming Sandy Hook didn't happen, I'm sure they'd prefer that option. Especially since they knew it wasn't like he'd write them a check on the courthouse steps, but rather that what's happening would happen--it would take forever to see even a penny, if they ever do. Fuck you, Norm. Then he bitches about CUTPA, about which I don't know anything, so no clue if he has any valid points or just more drivel along the same lines. Regardless, fuck you, Norm. Conclusion and Statement of Relief Requested For all of the reasons stated herein, the defendants request that this Court vacate the judgment and remand the case as to the claims of defamation, breach of privacy and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The defendants request dismissal of the CUTPA count. Respectfully submitted [gag], Norman A. Pattis. And then 600 pages documenting the actual case. Wonder if he fully documented all the hearings in which Judge Bellis chewed AJ and his then-attorney out for not complying with discovery and, indeed, defying the Court's direct orders... 2023.06.06 19:21 AutoModerator Here's How To Watch Spider-Man Across The Spider-Verse Free Online
Sony Pictures! Here are options for downloading or watching Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse streaming the full movie online for free on 123movies & Reddit, including where to watch marvel's latest live-action adaptation movies at home. Is Spider-Verse 2 available to stream? Is watching Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse on Peacock, Disney Plus, HBO Max, Netflix or Amazon Prime? Yes, we have found an authentic streaming option/service.
Watch Now: Spider Man: Across the Spider Verse Movie Online Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be in theaters beginning June 2. If you're wondering how and where you can watch it yourself, take a look at the information below.
Miles Morales returns for the next chapter of the Oscar-winning Spider-Verse saga, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters the Spider Society, a team of Spider-People charged with protecting the Multiverse’s very existence. But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must set out on his own to save those he loves most. Anyone can wear the mask – it’s how you wear it that makes you a hero.
The much-anticipated Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is only a few weeks away, and fans can’t wait to see the new adventures of Miles Morales. Once the Sony Pictures-produced movie ends its theatrical run, it will come to the most popular streamers, including Netflix and Disney Plus. But when is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse coming to Netflix and Disney Plus? Here’s what you need to know.
'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse' features the return of Shameik Moore as Miles Morales and Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy. Just before the release of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, producers of the feature have announced a couple of other projects. Producer Amy Pascal has announced a forthcoming third installment titled Beyond the Spider-Verse expected to be released next year. That is not the only project announced.
Paint-on-glass, Realistic Cartoon-style to Japanese Manga, makers explore not a couple but way too many animation styles! Shameik Moore’s Miles, in a way, gets a Star-Lord-like treatment in which he beautifully balances his character arc without overstepping the broader scheme of things. Hailee Steinfeld’s Gwen finally gets a chance to narrate her side of things, and it mixes well with the ‘star-crossed’ relationship she’s currently sharing with Miles.
If you’re like just about everyone else on the planet who saw Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse in 2018 and loved it, you’ve probably been waiting for the sequel. You won’t be waiting long, as Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is finally coming out in 2023, a full five years later. It’s been a long wait but by all indications the film is going to be a blast for fans of comic book movies, Miles Morales’ version of Spider-Man, and this new animated franchise featuring the iconic webslinger.
Modern cinema has seen the gap between theatrical and streaming releases shorten dramatically, begging the question of when Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will release online. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, streaming releases have been much closer to the theatrical release of films. While the mid-COVID marketing technique of releasing movies in theaters and on streaming services at the same time for an extra price is a thing of the past, the gap between the respective releases is still considerably shorter than in decades past.
While we currently don’t know the exact online release date for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, we do know the movie will be released in cinemas worldwide, including the US and UK, on June 2nd, 2023. We know where to watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse online, but do we also know when? We can guess once again, assuming it charts the same theater-to-streaming path as Into the Spider-Verse did in 2018 with two months between the theatrical release and its digital renting/buying services. You may be able to buy or rent the movie digitally as early as late July of this year, with a physical release roughly a month or so after that, if not sooner. This also means that you will probably be able to stream Spider-Man: Across on Netflix in early December 2023, as it took about six months from Into the Spider-Verse’s release before the movie landed on the streamer.
When Is the Release Date for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse?
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse was one of the many films to get hit by a delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic, moving from its original date of April 8, 2022, to October 7, 2022. That's the date seen in the above trailer, but the film has since seen another significant delay since then. Now the film is officially set for release on June 2, 2023. Hopefully, we won't see another delay, but if it means getting a sequel that lives up to the sky-high heights of the original, we'll gladly wait.
Is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse in Theaters?
Not only was Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse the subject of rave reviews, but it also pulled in some gargantuan levels of cash at the international box office, with a final tally that quadrupled the film's ninety-million dollar budget. With incredible success like that, it's only natural that Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse would also be taking advantage of a theatrical release. That is the case, as the upcoming film will be exclusively available in theaters when it premieres on June 2nd, 2023.
When is 'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse' streaming?
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse The home distribution rights for Across the Spider-Verse are in a rather interesting place. In April 2021, it was reported that Sony Studios had signed a multiyear deal with both Netflix and Disney for shared streaming rights to Sony films coming out between 2022 and 2026. This deal includes Across the Spider-Verse as well as the third film in the series, Beyond the Spider-Verse, due out in March 2024.
As for releases like Across the Spider-Verse, the film will be available on Netflix with "first-pay-window-rights" for the first 18 months of its home media release. While it will not be streaming concurrently with its theatrical release, it will be available on Netflix following its theatrical run.
Some of the films are not currently available on the service because Sony has pre-existing partnerships with Starz, as that's where most of the absent films are available to stream. That is except for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which is instead only streaming on Fubo TV and FX Now.
For anyone else looking to watch the film as soon as possible, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be released in theaters on June 2.
How to Watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse
At the moment, you can watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse at your local theater. But like most movies these days, it should hit a streaming website in the near future.
Like its predecessor, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is a flick produced by multimedia conglomerate Disney. What's more, the production studio owns a number of other famous franchises, like the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Star Wars. Titles made under these umbrellas have both hit Disney+ sometime after arriving at the box office. Fans may also know the original Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is currently available to stream on the site as well. So, if the 2023 version follows the same pattern, folks will likely get to see Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse on Disney+ later this year too.
As for an exact release date for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, that's more complicated. Most movies produced by Disney often go to its streamer site within three months after debuting in theaters, like the most recent Marvel film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. If this is the case for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, it will probably drop in late August 2023 or sometime near Labor Day in early September.
When the time comes for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse to splash onto Disney+ though, make sure you're all prepared to watch it. If you don't have access yet, you can opt into a 30-day free trial before choosing a plan that start at $7.99 per month or $79.99 per year. After your account is all set, click on the title page on Disney+'s official website or the Disney+ app.
As you wait for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse to hit the streamer, why don't you watch the animated version and its sequel Spider-Man: into the Spider-Verse? Or if you want to immerse yourself in another live-action version, click on the 2019 ABC TV special Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Live!. Enjoy!
Where To Watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Online:
As of now, the only way to watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is to head out to a movie theater when it premieres on June 2, 2023. You can find a local showing on Fandango.
Watch Now: Spider-Verse (2023) Movie Online Free
Otherwise, you’ll just have to wait for it to become available to rent or purchase on digital platforms like Amazon, Vudu, YouTube or Apple, or become available to stream on Disney+.
Is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse coming to Netflix?
Yes, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is coming to Netflix approximately in December 2023. In 2021, Sony and Netflix signed a five-year deal that gave the latter exclusive first-pay-window U.S. streaming rights for Sony Pictures titles after their theatrical and home entertainment windows. Fans can expect to watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse on Netflix six months after the film’s theatrical release, thus in December 2023. The date seems reasonable considering that Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse dropped on Netflix on June 26, 2019, six months after its U.S. release on December 14, 2018. The pay-one window usually begins about nine months after a film’s theatrical release, but it might start earlier in particular cases. This post will be updated once there is a 100% officially confirmed Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Netflix release date.
When Will Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse Be Available On Netflix?
Where will Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse stream specifically? Due to an ongoing deal between Netflix and Sony (remember that these movies are not produced by Disney), Across the Spider-Verse will see Netflix as the streaming home for the film when it finishes its theatrical run. It will no doubt make its way to Disney+ eventually, as Disney and Sony do have an agreement for Disney to include Sony’s Spider-Man content in their offerings, but that will at least be some time after Across the Spider-Verse has come out on Netflix.
In terms of which of the streaming giants Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be released on, Netflix will house the film upon its streaming debut. While again, Sony does not have its own dedicated streaming service, a deal was struck in 2021 between the studio and Netflix. The deal, stating that Netflix would stream Sony's films after theatrical release, was penned for 5 years meaning Across the Spider-Verse is part of the arrangement.
Is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse coming to Disney Plus?
Yes, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is also coming to Disney Plus approximately in 2025.
Once the pay-one window runs its time and Netflix’s exclusive rights expire, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be available on Disney Plus. The pay-one window might last as long as 18 months, which means it will be a while before Disney Plus subscribers can watch the much-anticipated sequel. Unlike in other countries, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse isn’t yet available on the Disney-owned streamer in the U.S.
While Sony's Spider-Man content is also streaming on Disney+, due to the collaborations between Sony and Marvel Studios in recent years, Across the Spider-Verse will be a Netflix release. While the deal struck between Marvel Studios and Sony may extend to this film, Disney+ is only allowed to begin streaming Sony's Spider-Man releases upon their release on Netflix. As a result, Netflix will be the first streaming service that Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be available on after its theatrical release.
Regarding when the film will be available on Netflix, the answer is less definitive. The first film, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, began streaming six months after its theatrical release. Based on this, it is safe to assume Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will see a similar gap between its cinematic and streaming releases. Given the film's theatrical release of June 2, 2023, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will likely begin streaming on Netflix in December 2023.
Will Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Be On HBO Max?
No, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will not be on HBO Max since it’s not a Universal Pictures movie. Last year, the company released its films in theaters and on the streamer on the same day. However, they now allow a 45-day window between the theatrical release and the streaming release.
Is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Available On Hulu?
Viewers are saying that they want to view the new animation movie Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse on Hulu. Unfortunately, this is not possible since Hulu currently does not offer any of the free episodes of this series streaming at this time. It will be exclusive to the MTV channel, which you get by subscribing to cable or satellite TV services. You will not be able to watch it on Hulu or any other free streaming service.

You can also rent or buy the movie on iTunes or Google Play. You can also watch it on-demand or on a streaming app available on your TV or streaming device if you have cable.
When Will Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Be on DVD and Blu-ray?
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will likely be coming to DVD and Blu-ray around the same time as the streaming release. With theatrical films, on average, coming to streaming sooner than ever (usually ninety days after theatrical release), we'll likely see Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse get a DVD, and Blu-ray release no later than Fall 2023.

2023.06.06 19:20 Careless_Chipmunk_97 Just had solar panels installed. Was it worth it with NEM 3.0?
I just recently got solar panels installed on my roof here in California (Irvine), and here are all the details:
I did my research and reached out to several solar companies in our area. I used
TheQuoteMatch to compare quotes and analyze the reputation of the companies, I decided to go with Altair Solar in the end. They were really helpful throughout the process and patiently answered all my questions.
The installation process was smooth and took around three weeks from start to finish. I had 20 top-notch solar panels installed on my south-facing roof. These panels are highly efficient, with a rating of 22%, and they have a total capacity of 6.4 kW. To maximize energy production, the installation team used microinverters, which ensure that each panel operates independently, making the system more efficient overall.
Now, let's talk numbers. The total cost of the solar panel system, including installation, was approximately $28,600. I know it sounds like a lot, but remember, this is a long-term investment that will pay off over time. I estimate saving around $2,100 annually on my electricity bill, which adds up to an impressive $52,500 over the expected lifespan of the system.
Apart from the financial benefits, going solar also has a positive impact on the environment. My solar panels will offset about 4.5 tons of CO2 emissions each year. It feels great to know that I'm reducing my carbon footprint and making a difference in the fight against climate change.
Let's also not forget something important -
Net Energy Metering 3.0 (AKA NEM3.0) This new policy could potentially affect future solar customers, as rates and compensation structures may change. I think it's crucial to take action now and secure the best terms for your solar investment.
In terms of maintenance, solar panels are quite low-maintenance. They are durable and don't require much attention. Altair Solar provided me with a comprehensive warranty that covers both the panels and the installation, giving me peace of mind for the long run.
All in all, I think getting solar panels installed on my roof has been a fantastic decision. Feel free to ask me any questions about my personal experience with solar panels!

2023.06.06 19:20 ahirtz Will VA pay for custom hearing protection?
Hello, been lurking for a while on here and have gained some valuable insight and information about so many things, so thank you all for that! I think something similar was asked on here a while ago, but not the same context.
First off, I have a feeling I know the answer to this, but I have to be sure. I have service connected tinnitus, but I love going to concerts! Ever since I left active duty, I have tried to wear music-oriented ear plugs at shows, but they never seem to work or fit right and can almost make the experience worse for me (mental conundrum, music too loud without, uncomfortable with them in). I have tried so many, from Eargasm to Earasers to EarPeace.
Its a long shot, but I know the VA pays for hearing aids and such, but what about custom fit hearing protection, sort of like In-ear monitors? There's several companies that make them, but they can be very expensive. The VA will pay for other quality of life upgrades, like eye glasses and computers and such (granted, those are VR&E benefits), so why not this? Could this a primary care referral sort of thing? Its related to mental health and wellbeing, for me at least. Music is such an important part of my life, I hate the thought of loosing my hearing more and more just because I like concerts.
Has anyone else done this or anything similar? I know its a lifestyle choice and all but I got a pair of nice glasses so why not ear plugs? Am I wasting my time with this? If its worth pursuing I will give it a shot!

2023.06.06 19:20 Shrine-of-Hope Want kids but hate other people's kids? [Asperger's]
I am very young (22 F) and I am weighting out my choices. I was a very quiet child, likely because of my Asperger's. I was very obedient, shy and didn't like or understand other children my age (gross jokes, popularity hierarchy, buying things you don't need etc.). I would quite like to have children, but only if they will resemble my behaviour. Asperger's is hereditary. I do feel the desire to protect cute, frail things, but I simply cannot understand or put up with the majority of children I've encountered. The yelling, fart jokes, unnecessary attention seeking, testing limits. I've never done it and I'm honestly a bit terrified of having a child and having it be an annoyance. What are the chances I would regret having children?
[It's a digression, but I also feel like children are lied to all the time, by being presented a world where people or other animals ALWAYS get along, being kind is the answer etc. instead of being honest and preparing your child for the absolute shit they're about to face. I would never dismiss my child by offering them a tablet and some crappy cheap plastic toys. Children are so eager to learn and they get fed utter crap from adults everywhere.]

https://i.redd.it/46mdy81zdf4b1.jpg Given how this thing is costed it'll be pretty hard to avoid comparisons to the swords of X/Y cycle. It really does just feel like the 11th sword TBH.
Unsure how to feel about it. My realist side says that if the swords of X/Y aren't good enough, then this thing is probably going to fall into the same bin. It's powerful, but i'm not sure whether it's better than SoFaF or SoFI, and both of those are fairly rare to see anyway.
But my experimentation side says, this thing seems like it can snowball pretty hard. Really feels like the "army in a can" equipment. Once you connect once things seems like they get out of hand really fast.
I can see decks like DnT liking it, but i'm also not an expert on the topic. +3/+1 is no joke and it creating more evasive bodies to pressure is exactly what DnT wants. Like if DnT ever connects with this thing it feels like point removal is invalid, just too many bodies. I wouldn't be shocked if it found a home here.
In stoneblade its more iffy. The volume of bodies to carry this thing just isn't there like in DnT, and TNN is at an all time low. At the same time though this thing is a lot harder to handle than kaldra/batterskull which can be taken offline by a single point removal spell. Maybe its good enough to bring back TNN in these sorts of decks?

2023.06.06 19:19 No-Emotion-7053 gut is telling me that my gf is cheating, thoughts?
she's called me crying a few times over the last month, due to emotional pain
- a few days after she tells me she is going out to 'tea' with a friend at 8PM, i ask a few questions and find out its a guy around 1030 she said shes almost home and i ask to FT.
she said shes too tired and about to pass out. she sends me a selfie and she is fully clothed, dressed up, bra on, lights on
next day she sends me this video recording where she just feels off, disingenuous smile
i have this odd feeling so i check her Instagram and notice shes removed me from 'close friends'
i call her and she cries a lot, never bring up the guy but i should've asked; but she says there's no other guy
a few days later i ask to FT and she said no bc she feels pressured. i am mad at this point and she explains that she wants it to work but bc of depression, emotional exhaustion, she needs space
she stops saying 'baby' 'babe' over the next few weeks, communication is less, couple hours between replies which is ok but they are less emotionally invested
- i ask her to FT after she gets back from vacation, she says she cant bc shes going to dance class (6PM?)
later that night she posts a pic in what looks like a guys sweater around 11PM in her room
next day she sends me a photo of her in the same sweater at 6AM walking her dog
i check her Instagram the next day and shes removed me from close friends
this is emotionally fatiguing for me and i kind of lash out and break things off
although i dont specifically bring up the guy; she maintains there's not another guy
fast forward two weeks
just yesterday i needed closure and asked if she wanted to end it before but didn't know how, she says no although its hard she wanted it to work
then i ask if she is seeing a friend she mentioned before and she snaps and says this is why we broke up, and that trust is fundamental for her
i say i wanted to trust her but she was moving weird and told you the two scenarios that gave me suspicions
she then blocks and removes me on everything. that I'm harassing her bc shes told me multiple times ‘no’ and says that if i treat my next girl like this, it wont end well. saying she doesn't need to prove herself clean bc they are just accusations
ive been cheated on in the past, she knows this, so i just wanted to know that my brain isn't playing games
I thought she should be more supportive and this should have been an open discussion
i dont think i was overly aggressive, and just wanted her to answer the question but she didnt
Am I crazy?

2023.06.06 19:18 SplananaBit How to Talk About/Debate LGBTQ+ Issues With Christian Friends
So I’m in an interesting situation. Because of some things that happened, I dropped out of college and I’ve been in between jobs for a while. In the mean time, I didn’t want to move back in with my parents at all costs, so I’ve moved in with a friend of my dad’s who’s also a pastor. He offered me a place to stay, living in a room he has set up for guests in the church. He and his family live in a parsonage right next to the church.
Since I got here, things have surprisingly got a lot better. Turns out that this pastor and his family are completely different than all of the other Christian’s I’ve met. He doesn’t believe in the whole end times twaddle, and he and his family have openly mocked the idea. He believes that keeping good relationships with people is more important than trying to force them to follow what he believes. He is super chill about movies, music, even cursing (which he’s done on a few occasions).
Some major telling things are that he’s fully admitted that he doesn’t understand everything about the bible, so he’s less stringent about it, he’s also said he prefers the company of non-believers over believers, he said that he values practicality and good relationships more than spirituality. The main one was he said that if who he believes god is was malevolent, he wouldn’t and shouldn’t serve that god. All this was shocking to me, mostly because honestly I don’t see how he could still be a Christian and be so realistic. To be honest sometimes it feels like he kind of BS’s his was through some of the tough questions since he grew up being taught Christianity.
Him and his family have been a great place for me to just be myself and learn what it’s like to have a somewhat normal family without all the turmoil that soaked the hyper religious environment I grew up in. We’ve had long and meaningful talks, during which he actually helped me deconstruct (unbeknownst to him), and helped me recognize things that weren’t ok in my childhood that happened, and how to start the process of letting go of all that guilt and shame involved. And he tries his best to keep Christianity out of the equation. He’s become like a father to me in a lot of ways, and I’ll never forget that.
That being said, there’s still some things I think he drops the ball on. His whole family knows I’m a left leaning agnostic, and even though they understand to a degree and respect my stance, as southern born and raised right leaning Christians, we’re bound to disagree every once in a while. One such thing is the whole LGBTQ+ debate.
The pastor says he tries to remain unbiased about affairs going on in the world, but the only news he watches to get his information is newsmax, so that’s the mindset we’re starting off with here. His oldest daughter (18), has called me gay before as some sort of jab or joke, to which I answer “thanks!”, which seems to confuse her. She actually doubled down and started making “jokes” about me and the other guy living in another guest room in the church being in some kind of romantic and sexual relationship, which was just uncalled for.
Her dad told her to cut it out, but his reason he gave her was “when I was a kid, if you called someone gay you just started a fight”. I tried to explain that I wasn’t really offended she called me gay, since being gay isn’t some disgusting thing to ashamed of, and my manhood isn’t so fragile that someone questioning my sexuality makes me want to fight them.
I also tried to explain that I simply found it disrespectful because they thought that calling someone gay was an insult or a joke at all, and that regardless of sexuality, it’s just wrong making up some kind of sexual fantasies about two people just minding they’re own business. She tried to rebut by bringing up some vague bullshit about me liking anime or something (which is another thing they make fun of me for), implying that shipping two characters in an anime is basically the same as shipping two irl people, which was some super backwards ass logic.
And for some added fun, shortly after that she claimed that the only reason trans people existed in our generation was because of parents pushing their “agenda” on their kids, saying she’d seen examples on Tik Tok (reliable source apparently). It was at this point that I was so not even interested in arguing with them that I just let it go.
Point is, these are some of most understanding people I’ve been able to talk to, they still are incredibly ignorant at times, basically living in their own Christian conservative bubble. My question is how do I engage I such a way that I might can open their minds on the topic, or is it just a lost cause that would be a waste of time for me to try to explain. Anyway, sorry for the long post, any help/advice would be appreciated.

2023.06.06 19:17 Sprayer-101 Why can't i feel emotions like everyone else?
Tldr; I can't feel emotions, whats wrong with me?
So i know this is a vague question bit maybe you could help to push me in the right direction.I (M/22) recently broke up with my girlfriend and i didnt take it as expected. I didn't feel sad/relieved or anything. I only felt bad for her because she was important to me and i know it hurt her.
After this incident i was thinking a lot about the past and my life, dont ask me why, and i realised that i almost never really feel "the right emotions". Yes i can have fun, i can laugh, i can have a great time, i sometimes can get angry, i can get bored. But i can't feel "real emotions".I don't feel sad when someone leaves me, i can't "love" anyone, i just know they are important to me but it seems like i don't care when i lose them (like my gf). Same with parents. I know they are important to me but i don't think i would be sad if something happend to them. Not bc i don't care but because i don't feel the emotion. But i can easily fake them so others think i feel the emotions.
I also don't feel anxious or scared as far as i remember. As an example i had a small crash with the companys car a few weeks ago and i didn't feel anything but "fuck i hope i don't get late". Everyone told me i shouldn't feel anxious or bad about it. But i didn't. There was just a little bit of anger inside of me which went away quickly.
I'm pretty sure its not depression because i don't feel sad or emptyI don't know how long it is like this, maybe 6-8 years. I don't remember any traumatic incident which could have caused it and to be honest i don't really care that i can't feel those emotions. But i'd like to know why it is the way it is.
If you have questions which help you to give an answer, just ask them.
Thank you for reading

2023.06.06 19:17 BigCamel6761 What are my chances?
Hey all, I know you probably don’t exactly have the answer to this question, but it’s worth a shot getting others experiences. Last year I applied for transfer admissions and got denied since I don’t have the best looking college transcript from years ago (I screwed around as an athlete my first time). I’ve been going to a community college for the last year to increase those scores- but the issue is during my winter quarter I had some medical issues and missed a month of classes, and ended up failing a class. This lowered my cumulative gpa pretty far, I’m now down to a 2.2 cumulative. This spring quarter should bring it up, but I’m applying for admission again and I wanted to know what my chances were at getting accepted? I’ve written out a personal statement that I hope will assist in my consideration for admittance, but I also don’t want it to sound like I’m making excuses, etc.
EDIT: mostly been taking STEM courses, I had 3 of them during winter quarter.

2023.06.06 19:17 thedeadzone2006 (F4M) "The hidden power of the old gods" a space adventure
Have you ever wondered how the universe was made? Many believe it was a God or many Gods, many also believe that it was purely science that brought the stars in to being. What if I told you that it was actually a thing that created everything we know was actually a device, a device so powerful in magnitude that it created atoms then pulled those atoms and caused the big bang. And what if I told you it was somewhere in our solar system we just gotta find it.
Hey! I have another roleplay idea. This time it's an adventure story, like Indiana Jones, adventures of tin tin, or uncharted but set in the back drop of space! I'll be providing both our characters. So if you interested don't hesitate to DM me no need to ask in the comments.
I prefer to write in third person but can write in first if you want, I can also write up to one or two paragraphs if there's enough to write about, but do know that I have dyslexia so my spelling won't be perfect. I also always rp on discord so please have an account.

They can’t be bees—nobody ever saw bees a mile off, you know—’ and for some time she stood silent, watching one of them that was bustling about among the flowers, poking its proboscis into them, ‘just as if it was a regular bee,’ thought Alice. However, this was anything but a regular bee: in fact it was an elephant—as Alice soon found out, though the idea quite took her breath away at first. ‘And what enormous flowers they must be!’ was her next idea. ‘Something like cottages with the roofs taken off, and stalks put to them—and what quantities of honey they must make!" submitted by segiubardo to Jigsawpuzzles [link] [comments] |
