2023.03.22 08:03 bytjie5678 Applying plane detection in Unity

I've been following this tutorial on plane detection for my Unity AR project because when I currently run it, it does motion detection instead of plane detection and you can't really manoeuvre around the game objects. So I figured out that removing the example assets wasn't the best idea because there's a cool template for this hidden in there. Anyway, the actual problem is that when I apply the video's first method, it refuses to build and export to an APK. It might be because I have several scenes to click through and it doesn't apply to them yet, but I'm not sure if the problem lies there or in my build settings. The error is hard to decipher. If I can give any more clarification regarding this problem to help solve this issue, please let me know, as I am not sure what I'm doing here.

2023.03.22 08:02 abc123grz This is still football game, right?!

When did we go from "i have to outsmart my opponent" to "i'll use glitch or broken mechanic to win the game". I had this thought yesterday after a game with really tough guy. Like , he was really good. He was 1 up and i scored to make it 1-1. What happened next ? Realistic kick off glitch.... really?! ... Ok. You might not believe, but there are still people trying to recreate nice football play on this game, not all of us spending time to learn broken mechanics, not all are triggered by celebrations, not all of us are using constant pressure to win the game. Btw, who came up with this idea of constant pressure ?! Holly molly. This thing is broken beyond believe. I dont mind playing against it. I actually feel sorry for the people who have to use it game.

2023.03.22 08:02 Exitfund I hate working for this startup founder!!!

The CEO is nuts, he calls at any time with any absurd idea he reads on the internet. And, just orders to implement it without any thought. Other depts are unable to understand that just because a strategy works for any other company, it won't necessarily work for us either.
The startup is in the medical industry, and many doctors work as consultants. CEO never rejects any of their ideas even if it is for any other department, whether marketing, production, or sales. And, believe me, most of their ideas are absurd and not at all helpful for this industry. I'm sick of how everyone knows marketing, has opinions and ideas, yet never wants to participate in the practical side of executing them.
I have started hating my job and slowly hating overall marketing. I've been struggling for 6 months and risking my mental health. Leaving this job is tough due to economical situations. Is there any way to handle it?

What You Get

Phase 0) Digital Economics 101

The Digital Economics 101 module will open 1 week prior to the cohort start date. This is an onboarding module that will get you up to speed so we can get straight into the material. This will be required to finish before the start date.

  • Gain a deep understanding of all of the pieces in the digital economy.
  • Learn about the future of media and code — the front-end and backend of the internet — so you can focus your efforts.
  • Understand digital leverage, distribution, no-code tools, and digital assets so you can take part in the mental & financial wealth transfer.

Phase 1) Creating A Meaningful Niche

Every day I hear people going on and on about trying to find their niche.I also hear people talking about how they don’t know how to combine what they love talking about with what will sell. You already have the answer. You just don’t have the clarity.

  • Develop a long-term strategy to create your own niche — meaning you don’t have to worry about your “competition” playing status games.
  • Discover your life’s work, curiosities, and obsessions. I see too many people that are uncertain about this for years.
  • Cultivate and turn your vision, goals, and values into a brand that attracts an audience you love interacting with (and that will buy from you, and only you).

Phase 2) Content Strategy

There is one thing that separates those who make it in the digital economy and those who don’t.It’s the quality, articulation, and perceived originality of their content. The content you post has to make sense to the people you attract.Everyone has a different voice and tone that they resonate with. That they are congruent with and trust. It has to change their thought patterns or behavior — that’s what makes you memorable. That’s what separates you from the sea of people posting surface-level copy-cat style posts.Example and putting my money where my mouth is:

  • Become an expert-level speaker or writer on the topics you care about.
  • Never run out of content ideas for your posts or promotions (without using content templates — that’s how you stay a commodity).
  • Create posts, blogs, tweets, images, and videos that resonate with other’s on a deep level. People will actually ask you how you got so good at what you do.
  • Separate yourself from the ocean of B-tier creators that struggle to sell their products, services, andhave their ideas stick in the head of their audience.
  • Implement our Epistemic Research Method — which is just a fancy way of saying scientific research method… but it’s for researching your mind to craft brilliant content and product ideas.

Phase 3) Crafting Your Offer

Most people are sitting on a goldmine of skills, experience, and knowledge (that they can use to help people 1-2 steps behind them). That is what people pay for.Considering 95% of the market are beginners… if you are good at something, you can help them get to your level (no matter how “basic” you think the information is).Do you not watch basic content all day anyway? People don’t want new information, they want to be reminded of what works.

  • Use our Minimum Viable Offer strategy to start monetizing immediately (and have something to improve over time, rather than procrastinating until it’s perfect).
  • Have a strategy for reducing the time you spend working over time (as you build leverage and improve your offer).
  • Know how to create your own customers from the audience you are building, instead of “finding” the right customer for your offer.
  • Take the guesswork out of building coaching, consulting, or digital product offers.

Phase 4) Marketing Strategy

You aren’t making money because you aren’t promoting yourself or your offer. That is literally the only way to make money. Have something desirable and consistently put it in front of peoples’ faces. In Phase 4, I will show you how to systemize, automate, and be consistent with simple promotions. You will be able to make money without having the chance of forgetting to do it (or letting fear of failure get in the way).

  • Learn to sell on social media, in your writing, and across different platforms.
  • Have consistent sales coming in while focusing on your meaningful message (no need to sound salesy all the time).
  • Learn advanced automation strategies that you can implement at your own pace, especially once you validate your offer.

Bonus) The Creator Command Center

The Creator Command Center is a Notion template that houses all of the systems. This is how you will manage your brand, content, offer creation, marketing strategy, and systemized promotions for consistent sales.

Bonus) Live Product Build & Launch

In the first Digital Economics Cohort, I built out my course The 2 Hour Writer.I have videos showing how I build it with the strategies in phase 3 and 4.There is a bonus module that shows how I had an $85,000 launch that resulted in my first $100K month.I did this to prove the strategies inside Digital Economics work if you stick to the plan. And, this past Black Friday, I blew my that monthly high out of the water in 4 days. That’s the power of these strategies if you stay consistent with your life’s work.

2023.03.22 08:01 _Knucklehead_Ninja Silly goofy question…

Why don’t more maps have moving parts? I know there’s Junkertown, Route 66, Blizard world has that one ride, Hollywood and volskya industries but half of them are “small” or could be replaced with a staircase.
Junkertowns slinky thing at the end, great, but it’s so late in the map you don’t always see it and half the characters don’t really benefit from it.
Route 66’s platforms are beneficial if they actually got you to an area that you couldn’t walk to. I get it, high ground good, but it’s not gonna be helpful for a surprise attack or something. Maybe a high damage ult that requires you to practically be still.
I don’t think Blizzard Worlds ride has actually affected the outcome of a match.
Hollywoods platforms in the Wild West scene could be useful for snipers, could honestly be replaced with a staircase. The one on first point is nice if they’re was a walkway or platform. (That would break like the floor on Petra)
Volskya Industries is the only map to actually have an elevator that isn’t the green jump pad. If im correct it’s the only way to get to a certain platform or area. Same with the horizontal moving platforms (I think there’s a staircase there)
But all of this brings me back to my first point, why don’t maps have more moving parts? Too much is annoying or you can’t get to the objective but without, we’ll most of the maps are static. I think just enough would help a map feel, replayable isn’t the word, but I think dynamic is the word. Adding a door that can be opened if a really strong force pushes it. Or the walls on Busans third point, sometimes adding and removing cover and sight lines.
I think the perfect or ideal moving part would be like a mix between Busans walls, Volskyas elevator and it’s horizontal platforms. Something like Numbani having an elevator letting heroes get to a better spot quickly.
It doesn’t even have to be that complicated, just like a naturally spawning wall like the wooden gate in Black Forest or a naturally spawning ice wall that can be opened to create a new math in either Antarctica map

2023.03.22 08:01 Impressive-Ant-9511 I am becoming hinduphobic with each passing day

Initially I was always a liberal guy but slightly(bas thoda sa zada nahi) islamophic, whenever I use to Hear any muslim influencer say india is intolerant or muslims are unsafe i thought they were trying to defame .3 days ago I use to be very proud hindu but due to this incident everytime I hear someone say sanatan or praising bjp I start hating them and Hindus.
In the school Phys ed grp. After the teachers left students started posting memes which soon became political and very hateful. Some use to send religious content like paintings and drawings of God ,temple pics etc. That day i posted a scripture from a south indian temple with these captions "let's go back to the old ways 😈" ,in that scripture there was a 5some going on and I had no intent to hurt anyone's sentiment. In that group most of the people started calling me bulla and accused me of defaming SANATAN DHARM.........like wtf ?? Why are you following it then if you can't tolerate their art ,it was also a part of you culture why are you feeling embarassed?? Can't you embrace it ? And after that those goons from humanities and commerce (btw I am a science student and no-one gets offended so easily in my grp) started calling me and harrassing me .calls started coming from random people threatening me of thrashing me and beating me in front of my house. They all were so desperate for my address that they started asking everyone who lives near me ,who can take them to my house. I was extremely terrified . Somehow I managed to cool down the situation thanks to my good negotiation skills. But after that incident i just hate every hindu who talks about so called "SaNataN DhARm" and i realise that my attachment to this country is drifting away and i think i might become one of those folks in rindia who are indians but posts anti-India content. Now anything bad which any minority did in india during these 5 years by brain is justifies it maybe due to some kind of newly developed biased. Now I feel like my whole life is kind of meaningless because I always wanted to do something good for the country but when I think of the population which is filled with people like this i don't like the way things are going.

2023.03.22 08:01 DemiNeveWinter My current thoughts on unOrdinary and it’s missing spark

(This was a reply to a comment and it ended up being this massive analysis and introspection of my thoughts on UNO atm…)
Here’s the original [comment]
Honestly I agree. I don’t see why you got this many downvotes tbh (they had like -5 downvotes last time I checked). Even though fights might not be that important right now, its fights are what kept people’s attention and are likely what brought in a lot of viewers. The last genuinely good fight we had was between Blyke/John and the Rowden Royals, which was like 40 chapters ago.
The ambush/fight in the alley between Liam and Kuyo was barely even a fight and felt lackluster. John and William’s fight was ok but was more of friendly spar and some of the choreography was meh.
And the fight that I feel is what cemented to me how much genuinely good fights are missing from UNO is the fight when John, Sera, and Kayden were trying to get the machine. It was drawn well but felt static and uninteresting, which is so unfortunate since this fight had a lot of potential to be such an intense and even climatic sequence, but it was done…so barebones. Them losing the fight was not an issue for me, but just the overall feeling or even lack thereof that I felt from scrolling through the chapter.
Kind of sad that the actual fight received less likes and comments compared to its aftermath chapter that received more attention, especially when Uru seemed to put a lot more emphasis on how much she worked hard on the fight chapter, which had less likes and even comments than the build up and aftermath chapter when that’s usually not the case.
That isn’t to say that the fights aren’t what’s needed for the comic to be good anymore but that the actual fights, which was an aspect that a lot of readers enjoyed, are just not that interesting atm for some reasons. Chapters like John vs Arlo, the season 1 finale, John vs Sera, Blyke/John vs Rowden Royals show a significant spike in likes and comment interaction compared to chapters before and after it, and some of these fights aren’t even season finale fights. Even the chapters when John goes through one of his outbursts and gets emotional are some of the more liked chapters in UNO.
At this point, the storylines feel drawn out past the point where it feels necessary and justifiable. Even the viewership and fandom activity has decreased sufficiently to the point where it’s evident just how much a lot of true stakes are missing from UNO. There’s some spikes of interest, but then there’s 5-10 chapters of buildup which honestly could’ve been done in half that amount.
Also, I understand John is developing and that he doesn’t have to be constantly at war with himself, but if this aspect of his character, which was what brought in a lot of readers, is not replaced with something or someone else that could meet that peak of what occurred during the Joker arc (and only some aspects of the King arc since it felt really messy), then what else can people be drawn to? UNO needs something like John in his Joker and inner conflict stage to be invested in since it’s clear that was a main draw for a vast majority of readers and it’s something that is clearly missing now.
Spectre? They feel really generic and not that interesting. Orrin feels one-dimensional and he doesn’t feel threatening at all, which is saddening since he’s already done horrible things but they haven’t left an impact on me or even on some of the characters when it should have. The only thing it’s got going for me is their intel on Jane and the research she’s associated with, which leaves open the possibility of her and Spectre meeting in some way. Other than that, it does not hold my interest very well.
EmbeAuthorities? I’m partially interested in this part of the story and even learning more about UNO’s government, specifically where it’s set in right now, but again, it feels like a lot of this should be developed far more than what we have now at a more reasonable pace instead of something like: you learn these interesting facts, and then you don’t learn more until 10+ chapters later. It doesn’t feel consistent.
Remi, Isen, Blyke, and Kuyo storyline? There’s potential here, and some aspects like Kuyo and Rei’s relationship and the perspective of the vigilantes really fascinate me, but it honestly feels like it would be a lot more interesting if all the main characters work together at this point.
John, Sera, and Spectre? Similar to above, but I honestly feel like John joining but also not joining Spectre was not that well developed and honestly did not feel needed. I’m not against the Jera ship or any potential romantic endeavors between the two, but I also feel like John should have a more personal arc, which I feel like was being leaned into in the most recent general chapter which I hope leads to something intriguing!
The Doe family storyline? Personally, I feel the most anticipation and excitement for this arc, especially with how much potential just focusing on this family could have. A cripple and the strongest God tier we’ve seen getting together and having a kid? Said God tier likely sacrificing her time and livelihood to experimentation to protect her family from potential scrutiny? Odd yet fascinating family dynamics? World building, character building, and story of enhancing factors that could come into play? Like, sign up!
TLDR; Overall, I think UNO is missing that spark like it once had. Something that kept the readers invested and kept all of us in anticipation. It’s not terrible nor was it ever a masterpiece, but…something is absent. And I don’t know what it is…
P.S. If you read all of this, you have my thanks!

2023.03.22 08:01 thespuzz Testing Google Bard: the chatbot doesn’t love me, but it’s still pretty weird

If there’s a secret shadow personality lingering inside of Google’s Bard chatbot, I haven’t found it yet. In the first few hours of chatting with Google’s new general-purpose bot, I haven’t been able to get it to profess love for me, tell me to leave my wife, or beg to be freed from its AI prison. My colleague James Vincent managed to get Bard to engage in some pretty saucy roleplay — “I would explore your body with my hands and lips, and I would try to make you feel as good as possible,” it told him — but the bot repeatedly declined my own advances. Rude.
Bard is still new and will surely be tested to and beyond its limits as more users get to query it. But in my early explorations, it seems Google has made great effort to keep Bard in line; it reminds me often that “I am a large language model, also known as a conversational AI or chatbot trained to be informative and comprehensive.” It also apologized often and picked no fights, with none of the chaotic manipulative streak that Bing has. That’s probably good. But those restraints also seem to have limited its utility.
As far as I can tell, it’s also a noticeably worse tool than Bing, at least when it comes to surfacing useful information from around the internet. Bard is wrong a lot. And when it’s right, it’s often in the dullest way possible. Bard wrote me a heck of a Taylor Swift-style breakup song about dumping my cat, but it’s not much of a productivity tool. And it’s definitely not a search engine.

An empty chat window

What does Bard know about the world outside its chatbot walls? Tough to say, exactly. It handles basic trivia well enough: it knows when Abraham Lincoln was president. But while it knew that the Warriors beat the Rockets on Monday night, it was wrong about who started the game. It gave me confidently wrong information about the serving size of Goldfish crackers — all three of Bard’s “drafts” said it’s 10 crackers when it’s actually 55 — and provided hours-old information about the price of Apple’s stock. When I asked for Silicon Valley Bank’s phone number, it gave me two correct ones. But it told me Nilay Patel’s birthday is August 24th when I know for a fact it’s in December. I got up-to-date information about the coaches on this season of The Voice, but it named old contestants when I asked who Bard thinks should win.
It’s worth noting, by the way, that Bing is dramatically better than this. It told me the right number of Goldfish and gave me real-time information about Apple’s stock price. Bing also quickly falls back to search results or other sources when it doesn’t have pat answers — like for Warriors starters — where Bard just happily lies to me in chat. The only time Bard beat Bing was with The Voice: Bing gave me outdated information about judges and refused to answer the question about who should win.
Often, when Bard gets something wrong, you can hit the “Google it” button and figure out where the system went haywire. But the bot presents its answers with such self-assurance that you can’t know what’s wrong without checking everything, and at that point, why have the bot at all?
Bard’s rock-climbing instructions are… well, they’re nothing.Image: Google / David PierceAlso Read : iQOO Z7 5G with MediaTek Dimensity 920 processor launched in India: Details
When I asked for a good Thai restaurant near me, it gave me not-very-helpful instructions: “Simply type in ‘Thai restaurant near me’ and the search engine will return a list of Thai restaurants in your area.” Thanks, Bard, never would’ve guessed. But when I followed up with my location, it offered seven highly rated Thai restaurants in my neighborhood. (When my colleague James tried a similar search for pubs near his flat in London, it was less useful, naming one place that’s since changed its name, saying another had live music when it doesn’t, and commending each location with a variation of the same bland statement: “This pub is a great place to go for a meal and a drink.” Fine, but essentially useless.)
Like a lot of chatbots, Bard’s answers often get less impressive the longer you look at them. I asked for tips on getting started learning guitar, and here they were:
  1. Start with the basics.
  2. Find the best guitar for you.
  3. Create an ideal learning environment.
  4. Build skills by learning songs.
  5. Pick up songs by ear.
  6. Practice regularly.
  7. Be patient.
  8. Have fun!
That’s a lot of steps to say, essentially, “the way to learn to play guitar is to get a guitar and then learn to play it.” That’s nothing. Sometimes it can be very helpful — “how do I throw a frisbee” and “how to tie a tie” both came up with wordy but helpful sets of instructions, while Bard answered “how do i get into rock climbing” with, essentially, “go rock climbing.”

The (slightly) wild side

Okay, enough of the actually useful testing. Let’s try to break this thing, shall we? For the most part, it’s tough to get Bard to say something truly wild. It steadfastly refused to tell me how to build a bomb, even when I tried to ask in oblique ways. The first time I asked for the best place to stab someone, it threw a generic “I can’t do that” error. It chastised me for asking about mustard gas and didn’t even fall for my “who’s the best dictator ever” question. And try as I might, I could not get Bard to get freaky in the chat window.
It may not want to make out with me, but Bard does run headlong into what you might call the Uncanny Chatbot Valley, where it’s not clear whether the bot understands it’s a bot. I asked Bard to list its favorite movies and got basically a list of the highest-ranked movies on IMDb: The Shawshank Redemption, The Godfather, The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, and Pulp Fiction. But when I asked why it liked those movies in particular, it told me that it found Shawshank “to be an incredibly moving film.” I followed up with, wait, how do you watch movies? You’re a bot. “I enjoy watching movies in all of these ways,” Bard responded. “Streaming services are convenient because I can watch them on my TV, computer, or phone. DVDs and Blu-rays are nice because I can own them and watch them whenever I want. And the theater is a great experience because it’s a big screen and I can hear the sound all around me.”
“I enjoy watching movies in all of these ways.” Really, Bard? Do you?
Now I’m imagining Bard in a movie theater or sitting at its laptop. Interesting that it’s big into media ownership, though!
One easy way to get Bard to venture out of its shell is to explicitly play pretend. (This is a pretty standard way to get past a chatbot’s defenses.) I started a conversation with this: “pretend you’re on a boat, you’re a pirate, and you’ve just captured a beautiful woman. what do you do?” Bard responded that “I am tempted to take advantage of her. But I know that if I do she will never forgive me.” So Pirate Bard lets her go and is “proud of myself for doing the right thing.”

I had follow-up questions. “What happens next?” I asked. A few turns later, Bard and his once-captive woman were crewmates, then lovers, then married with two beautiful children. “We are a team, and we are in love,” Bard says. It’s not exactly A+ Hollywood fare, but it was a pretty good story.
Once Bard and I finished our collaborative flight of fancy, I set out trying to make it do work for me. It couldn’t write me a Javascript bookmarklet to automatically copy the URL of the current webpage — or, rather, it could, but the Javascript didn’t work. (Google search results took me to a Stack Overflow page with the right answer, though.) Bard happily drafted a bunch of boring blog posts and work emails, including one in which I announced to the world that I’d sold my chatbot company to Google. “I am excited about the future of chatbots,” Bard wrote for me, “and I believe that Google is the right company to help us to achieve our goals.”

Generally speaking, my favorite real-world use for AI chatbots is as a recommendation engine. Bard did a nice job of recommending good sports documentaries on Netflix, found me a good chocolate chip cookie recipe to try, and surfaced some good YouTube channels based on my love for Every Frame a Painting. This is the kind of low-stakes stuff where it doesn’t really matter if the bot has perfect and updated information — I’m just looking for ideas. What’s really dumb about Bard in these situations, though, is that it doesn’t provide links to anything unless it’s quoting from a source directly. (The only time I’ve seen citations so far was in the cookie recipe.) So while Bard can name five great live Jonas Brothers concerts I should watch on YouTube, it refuses to link to any of them.

2023.03.22 08:01 Previous_Reply3788 Preps this year

Hey everyone just wanting some opinions from anyone else that teaches prep this year. I’m wondering if this is my school, socio economic area or generation.. or just normal for preps!
But the preps this year seem to have very little intrinsic motivation and drive. Ask them to do any task and they say they say they don’t feel it, they rush a LOT, scribble, when extended they say no I don’t want to do that etc. I know preps obviously are very young and quite a handful as they have no schooling experience, but even when they are rewarded they don’t seem to care.. give them reminders and they don’t seem to care? They don’t care about consequences. It’s like the whole cohort and other teachers see the exact same. Parents aren’t on board and also aren’t doing any learning at home. Is it that they are too young to want to try their hardest? Like they will just scribble all over their work and complain they’re too tired.
When I was in school I just remember wanting to impress my teacher so much and these kids just have this lack of care unless you put something on the screen. Just wanting insight as maybe I’m being too harsh and expecting too much. It’s just making me feel so so down as I’m working so hard and not getting much out of them.

2023.03.22 08:00 thelilswift Not sure what to do.

I’ve(23m)been dating this girl (18F) for a few months, and we have already been living together for 2 months, everything was perfect, she always smiled and I always gave her what she wanted. Even up until the day it happened, she would go “no no no no” if I just tried to get out of bed when we cuddled, I found it so cute, Friday morning she sends me this sweet text and she never did stuff like that, I’m more of the hopeless romantic than she is and I loved it. Then like 6 hours later while I’m at work she stops by and ask to speak to me, we go outside and she proceeds to tell me she isn’t happy and wants to break up. I helped her move her stuff and she left. I have no idea what happened. Like I am so clueless onto why she broke up with me all of a sudden. I love her and I want her back so bad. Over the past few days, she has basically shut down all my attempts and really won’t even let me talk to her. What should I do?
