2023.06.01 19:07 howbizsolutions Optimize Your Website: Check Your Page Speed, Titles, and XML Sitemaps
| Check your Page Speed With today’s internet speeds, no one wants to wait more than a couple of seconds for a page to load. If your site is slow to load, visitors are likely to click the “back” button and quickly exit your site. Page speed is not only important from a usability perspective, but it is becoming increasingly important for SEO purposes. You can check your page speed here. If your site is using WordPress, take a few minutes to install the W3 Total Cache plugin and configure the options. This plugin has been known to improve page speed by 40 points or more. Your visitors (and Google) will thank you for it! https://preview.redd.it/eighx37muf3b1.png?width=1024&format=png&auto=webp&s=c4c552647f57dceaf8d61af029ee7835841a4ebb Check your Page Titles Would you go grocery shopping and buy products that aren’t labelled or didn’t tell you what they were? Essentially, that is what a page title is to each page of your site. Your page title is the first thing a searcher will see when your site appears in the SERP’s. Every page of your site should have a unique page title to show to search engines that each page is unique, and to show visitors what a page is about. Page titles are also an important ranking factor, so use some of your keywords and keep the under 70 characters to ensure they display in full in the SERP’s. Check your XML Sitemaps When was the last time you checked your XML sitemap? If your sitemap doesn’t generate automatically, chances are you will have many old URL’s that are 404 error pages, 301 or 302 redirects, have noindex tags, folders that are in your robots.txt folder, or URL’s that have a canonical tag pointing to another page. Even if you are using a sitemap that updates automatically, take a good look through your XML sitemap and look for any URL’s that shouldn’t and don’t need to be in there and remove them. When you check your sitemap in Webmaster Tools, the number of URL’s submitted should be the same as the number of URL’s indexed. Think of Google as a pirate; it wants to know exactly where the treasure is and not sail around guessing. Give them their treasure map (or sitemap.xml) and show them where to go! If you’re serious about crushing it in the digital world, you need to pay attention to your website’s page speed, titles, and XML sitemaps. These are non-negotiables, folks. You gotta make sure your website is lightning fast, your page titles are on point, and your sitemaps are clean. No excuses. So, have you taken a look at your website lately? Have you run some tests, installed some plugins, and given your sitemaps a good scrub? If not, what are you waiting for? Time is money, and you’re losing both if your website isn’t optimized. Share your experiences in the comments below, let’s hustle together. Drop your tips, tricks, and hacks. Let’s help each other win the game. 2023.06.01 18:42 Consistent-Bell1069 Collecting Datasets from News Articles - Help
Hi everyone,
I'm an econ student so I'm a total newbie to coding/webscraping. I'm currently working on a research project, and I want to collect data from all the news about women murdered by intimate partners/family members published in 1976-2020. I also want to create a dataset based on those articles: victim's age, race, relationship to the perpetrator, perpetrator's age, race, time and place of the incident, number of words in an article, etc. There must be a better way than sifting through articles manually. Do you have any advice on how to start/ resources where I can learn how to do it? Is there a way to do it in R? Something to do with natural language processing?
Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!!

2023.06.01 18:33 HeyItsHawkguy What are some staples of a pro flyer?
I'm 27 and took my first flight last weekend. My girlfriend had been looking forward to getting me in the air for a long time and she enjoyed showing me the ropes. While boarding on our flight back home, she was having issues with her seatbelt and I jokingly said, "Pffft, amateurs." and proceeded to fasten mine with no issues. I then kept making little jokes, like how I was triggered the attendant did not physically show us where the light was on the floatation vest like they're supposed to and more.
We have several more trips planned for this year. And I'd like to continue to show her up (she's flown hundreds of times). So far, I've bought a neck pillow and attached it to a lanyard retractable clip and grabbed a bluetooth sleep mask, just small things that would make me look more prepared than her.
What are some items, phrases and general etiquette I should prepare to make me look like a pro?

2023.06.01 18:08 ThrowRadahn I can't go back to the dark place I was in. Please help me be better.
2 years ago, I lost my granddad, who I was very very close to. A month later, my dad was diagnosed with cancer. Ever since, I have been dealing with an overwhelming sense of grief, fear, anxiety and was severely depressed and nihilistic.
Then I met my ex and started feeling a bit happier again. Life started feeling a bit more meaningful and I started feeling a bit more like myself.
We broke up a month ago and I'm really scared the grief of losing him will drive me back into the dark place I was in before I met him.
How do I regulate and process my feelings healthily and actively work on moving on from this break up? I don't want my circumstances clouding my better judgement and make me want to get back with him again just because. Please help me rationalize my feelings and move on. Thank you.

2023.06.01 17:28 ALFunCouple 40 [M4F] #Southeast #US. Fun, fit guy searching for a real connection and a travel partner.
I'm in a very happy ENM marriage. We've been together for 20 years and have always been open. That affords me the opportunity to give my full attention to my wife and the woman I'm seeing.
I'm smart, funny, witty, attractive, adventurous, experienced, and extremely confident. I'm extremely active. I workout five days a week and am really into nutrition and being healthy. Just to be blunt, I'm the total package. I ended a 13 year relationship a few months ago andwent through the rebound after. I'm ready for something serious and long term again.
Living in the Bible Belt I have to be extra careful so I normally don't look for anyone local, but if it happened I'd be open to it. I'm looking for someone to travel and explore with me.
Ideally I'm looking for someone that wants to fall in love all over again. That kind of relationship where you want to check your phone every minute to see if they text you. You think about them before you go to sleep at night. You can just be your true self. You can talk and act the way you feel. You turn each other on so much that you can't do anything but tear each other apart when you're alone. If your SO doesn't pay attention to you, I will. If your bedroom is dead I'll definitely fix that issue for you.
I have the means and the time to make this your reality. Let's get to know everything about each other and go on adventures together that we'll remember forever.
I don't have an age or race preference, but physical attraction is obviously a thing and will need to be there. DM me and let's start something that will make both of our lives more exciting. Please be in the US. I don't care where, just live here.

2023.06.01 16:55 jsmu2016 Switch jobs or not?
I need guidance. I received a job offer with a promotion and 10% pay increase (asked for 20%) but I have to drive about an hour each way for 90 days then I get to be remote 2 days after that. I currently work 100% remote so switching would require me to give up an extra 6 hours a week.
The pros of the new company is that it's one of the top 25-50 in the country in its field/business, it's less likely to have layoffs, more opportunities for growth.
Just not sure if it makes sense to add another 6 hours to my work week sitting in traffic for a 10% raise. I can easily take my kid to school and pick him up, take him to sports practices and what not since I work remotely.
Am I overthinking the driving time? What would you do?

2023.06.01 16:25 BeatrixFosters Crate/nap training with sensitive hearing
Hello!
My husband and I adopted a pitty mix recently, and we are working on enforced naps/crate training. I work from home, so I'm able to enforce her first 1-2 naps of the day while husband is at work.
However, husband has sensitive ears and our pup can get so loud/high pitched that it physically hurts his ears. I work from home, so I can put her in her crate and close my office door during her nap times so it's not a problem for the first half of the day.
Husband is our pup's favorite person, so when he gets home from work, she'll follow him everywhere. Her nap schedules are a little janky after he comes home, because he's not the type to just come home and sit. I still have to work for 2 hours after he comes home, so he likes to do housework before he settles down. This interrupts her post-lunch nap and she's a terror in the hours between lunch-dinner.
Questions:
How can we work on crate training pup when her barks/whines make husband's ears bleed?
If pup falls asleep naturally before the nap schedule, do I wake her up to put her in the crate?

2023.06.01 16:23 Specialist-Finish-57 Golem (1915)
Golem, released in 1915, stands as a testament to the artistry and innovation of early silent cinema. Directed by Paul Wegener, this German expressionist film brings to life the ancient Jewish legend of the Golem, a creature made of clay brought to life to protect the Jewish community from persecution. The film is a visual feast from start to finish, with breathtaking cinematography and striking set designs that transport viewers to the heart of medieval Prague. The black and white imagery adds a haunting quality to the narrative, emphasizing the dark and atmospheric nature of the story. Paul Wegener's performance as the Golem is nothing short of remarkable. Despite the constraints of a silent film, his physicality and emotive expressions bring the creature to life in a way that is both captivating and empathetic. The makeup and costume design, although primitive by today's standards, successfully convey the otherworldly and monstrous nature of the Golem. What sets Golem apart from its contemporaries is its exploration of deep thematic elements. The film delves into issues of power, control, and the dangers of human hubris. It raises profound questions about the relationship between humanity and its creations, and the consequences that arise when we play god. These themes continue to resonate with audiences to this day, making Golem a timeless piece of cinema. The pacing of the film is deliberate, allowing for moments of quiet introspection as well as heightened suspense. The atmospheric musical score, often provided by live accompaniment during screenings, further enhances the viewing experience, adding an extra layer of tension and emotion to key scenes. While Golem may lack the technological advancements of modern cinema, its imaginative storytelling and strong visual language make it a must-watch for cinephiles and fans of silent cinema. It serves as a cornerstone of the horror genre, influencing countless filmmakers who would follow in its footsteps.

2023.06.01 16:03 howbizsolutions Importance of Establishing Strong SEO for Your Business’s Web Presence
| Welcome to the digital age! Let’s face it if you want your business to be successful, having an online presence is essential. Since that is where all the people are, that’s where your business needs to be as well. https://preview.redd.it/ozm7c8hm2b3b1.png?width=602&format=png&auto=webp&s=231370675094ebc6d75599d8f29ade89514f4294 People use the internet for EVERYTHING, almost like a lifeline. They use it to find phone numbers, addresses, and reviews among other things, so not having a strong web presence puts you at a major disadvantage compared to your competition. Is having a web presence enough? Unfortunately, it’s not. Because having a web presence is pretty much useless if no one is discovering it. https://preview.redd.it/d88cwwdo2b3b1.png?width=602&format=png&auto=webp&s=902f33df502ddf77a021863469532fe7e98b72fc If you own a business that can meet the needs of national or international clients, a strong internet presence is crucial. If your potential customer base is so geographically spread out, how do expect to target them if not on the web? I suppose you could invest in billboard’s to be placed on every highway in America or in the world…but I’m pretty sure investing in building your web presence would be more efficient and affordable without making you seem like a lunatic. https://preview.redd.it/emm4zaxq2b3b1.png?width=602&format=png&auto=webp&s=084d9480acf607c321b6de6b622a3d8845d9cdd4 Even if you have a business that only caters to local clientele, an online presence is still essential. This is because 76% of people use the internet to inquire about local businesses, but few are searching those businesses by name. They may be searching something like “best Chinese restaurant in Toronto” or “food delivery open late”. This is why you must be in tune with what your potential customers are searching for. This is where SEO comes in. You want to be listed as close to the top of relevant queries as possible. This is because the further down in search you are, the fewer people you can expect to see it. In fact, over 18 percent of traffic generally goes to the first site for a search term, with the second site getting over 10 percent. The fifth site and lower are lucky to garner even 2 percent of the keyword’s traffic. https://preview.redd.it/p51snkws2b3b1.png?width=602&format=png&auto=webp&s=c66fed40358fac935e6ccb7d96263fcbba36fc73 Now, if you want to gain a high ranking, it is imperative that you have awesome SEO. Sure, you could continuously use paid advertisements to try to get traffic, but this is not a good long-term plan. That is because while establishing good SEO can be time-consuming at first and possibly cost money if you choose to outsource the job to a professional, it is still ultimately an INVESTMENT. Once you establish good SEO, it will continuously pay off. Unlike paid advertising, good SEO is an investment that will continuously bring in potential clients. So, if you’re ready to invest in your business’s web presence start with the most important thing-establishing your SEO. submitted by howbizsolutions to howbiz [link] [comments] |
2023.06.01 15:43 AIOT12 I lowkey hate my mom for how she raised me.
My entire life I’ve been seen as meek and I’ve fucking loathed myself for it. I let myself get treated like garbage because I was too weak to let myself do anything about it. I was told to accept things as the status quo, never speak up for myself or have a backbone. That I should accept my friends for their flaws, when I would be upset with how they’re treating me,etc. I never learned how to set boundaries. It’s turned me into a terrible person, I can shit talk all day but will never speak up. and I struggle with being feminine because the only times I felt strong and confident, are doing traditional masculine things like my warehouse jobs, full contact sports, bottling up my feelings, etc. It wasnt until the last year that I started setting boundaries. And it drastically changed my life. All of the shit starting rapidly starting flying out of my life. And I realize now this is because I was raised to be fucking weak. My parents have recently moved to another state and my mom is working on making new friends. And she went out with one and she gave off some red flags and my mom goes “you can’t be picky, you just have accept them for who they are.” And that’s when it all clicked. I’ve been lowkey resentful about this for a while but recently I’ve been pissed I was born this way. I guess it’s up to me break the cycle.

MANAGE YOUR EXPECTATIONS - Posting here does not guarantee you will get an answer. Getting an answer does not always mean the info you receive will be accurate. We do our best to weed out the bad advice, but we can't be on here all the time reading every word. In addition, this subreddit is NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR ACTUAL MEDICAL CARE. We can't tell you if you have a broken bone, what kind of bug bit you, or if you do or don't absolutely have an STI.
If you are reading this post, please go read the rules just to make sure you don't accidentally break any when posting or commenting
RULE 5- every single day, at least a dozen people break this rule. If you are one of them, you will almost certainly find yourself with at least a temporary ban. We will not bend on this rule.
DON'T CONDESCEND OTHER USERS - It doesn't cost you anything to not be a dick in the comments. Just scroll on. It doesn't matter how silly you think something is. If you can't or won't help, MOVE ON.
SPAM - If you post GoFundMe links, YouTube videos, advertisements, or deliberate misinformation, your post will be removed & you will be banned permanently if you do it again after the first warning.
BAN EVASION - We aren't stupid. There are only two of us actively moderating & we will recognize your post if you create a new account so you can post the thing that got you banned in the first place. That will result in all of your accounts being banned from Reddit entirely. Please don't do that. If you reach out to us, depending on what got you banned in the first place, we may be willing to work with you.
Please keep this a safe place for people to ask medical questions. Thank you!!

2023.06.01 15:15 Accomplished-Let3917 Export Photoshop artboards to video
I have made an photoshop project with three different artboards. Each artboard is a different dimension of the same ad-visual. (1920x1080, 1080x1080 and 1200x628). I use smart object, that way i only have to change the title and logo once, and it changes it automatically for all artboards. I have also animated the artboards using the timeline feature. But i can't seem to export the artboards to either GIF or video. In fact, i can export to GIF, but the GIFs are just stills. I've already tried the option "Export layers into files" but that doesn't work either because it changes the positionings of the object's i've animated.
Is there a way to fix this, or is there another way to make this process of making ad's more efficient? (i need both jpeg's and mp4/GIFs for each ad)
