The commenters take this to mean that SGI is accepting of its members being interfaith and practicing multiple religions.
But I've also read quotes by Nichiren that basically show he wanted to DESTROY all other sects of Buddhism!!! (These quotes have been linked many times, sorry not to link them again).
It seems that Nichiren was only protecting the followers of the Lotus Sutra and not other religions, though . So in our modern-day, we might say that Nichiren would have protected both the Shoshu priesthood and the SGI members.
But we all know how hard SGI has fought to keep the separation of the Shoshu and their own members. SGI is constantly belittling and criticizing the Shoshu. It seems pretty hypocritical, especially considering Nichiren wants protection of all Lotus Sutra practitioners, doesn't it? Source

26F and 25M going through a bad phase
What would be an ideal solution to this problem? I'm 26 female and have been with my Highschool sweetheart for more than 10 years now. 7 years back I was diagnosed with clinical depression and severe anxiety disorder, life has been very difficult after that. I have been on medication and therapy since then. My boyfriend is 25 and we have been in a long distance relationship. We both wished to get married before 2026 and everything seemed fine. Lately, I made the decision that I wish to stay in State A because I enjoy the climate here and property prices aren't that high and I would be able to own an independent home with a small garden area. I'm an introvert. He is an extrovert, he said that there is no way he is ever coming to State A and would prefer to end the relationship, and move on with someone else (even if it is an arranged marriage by his parents). I told him that he will have good career opportunities in this part of the country as well but he blatantly said 'no'. I discussed this with my mother, she said that if he is not ready to understand why having an open spaced home is necessary for you instead of living in apartments/flats then he is not the right person for you. He said that I will build a similar home for you but give me 10 or 15 years, but I already have the option of a home.Why should I waste these many years cramped? I know I can't expect him to move here but how can he expect me to move to different cities in a few years. I tried explaining why this arrangement is beneficial for my mental health and this will provide me with an order which I crave. I attempted suicide last week, things were horrible. I sat down with my parents and therapist, came up with the plan to have my own space which I would be in complete control of. The thought of it brings peace to me. I thought he would understand but he is trying his best to end things and not even giving it a thought.
TL;DR - He will not move to where I'm planning on living for the next few years. And I can't imagine constant change would be beneficial for my mental health. Geography is overpowering our love.

Dar’cy looked at the departing Lord High Commander with a mix of awe and condolence. He understood, as almost no one else in the room did, what Himdo had meant by “his successor”.
The Imperial Court did not choose the rulers of Imperial Domains by pulling names out of a bag. For Himdo to be granted such an honour was a sign he was destined high office in the Court, but that destiny was contingent on him delivering success.
Himdo had just admitted, to himself and his staff, that he fully expected to be recalled, tried and disgraced for his failures. If he was lucky, he might be allowed to keep title and current rank, but any shot he had at a nice Minsters position was gone. Himdo now know that Glory was beyond his grasp.
All that was left was the burdens Duty. Duty, to a government that was going to crucify Himdo to avoid looking too hard at its own decisions, the decisions that had sabotaged their chances before they ever met the humans.

Hello everyone, just built a new pc. R5 5600, Rx 6700XT, Msi b550 gaming MB, 1 tb SSD, 32 gb ram.
I installed a fresh copy of windows 11 from the windows installer tool from their website. I’m trying to use Da Vinci resolve and Hitfilm, and they keep both doing the same exact thing.
Each time they seem like they are starting to open, the little blue circle on the mouse spins, and then it just stops with nothing opened. I’m on the current drivers, current windows update, current video editing software versions, and I’m stumped.
I rolled back my drivers so I had none installed, and they both would start to open, and say I needed current GPU drivers. I installed the current version, and then they wouldn’t open at all again. I even tried to install a previous driver version and still the same issue of nothing opening. Ive uninstalled both programs multiple times with no luck. I could be wrong but it seems like it would be the same thing stopping me from opening either. Any help guys? Thanks 🙏

i’ve just finished all my AS content and all my AS exams and so I’ll be starting A2 after the half term. i’ve been using paper to write up notes and have been storing them in folders but during exam szn i’ve noticed how much trouble im having with bringing all my notes into school as i have too many folders.
also i study bio, chem and maths and so a massive part of that is practise questions. ive been printing stacks apon stacks of papers and have been storing them in folders as well and it’s kind of gotten to a point where it’s impossible to revise anywhere but home as i cant carry all my stuff with me to the library or school.
so i thought maybe it would be best to get an ipad before starting A2 content and scanning all the AS content onto the ipad so that it can be more convenient.
my problem is actually purchasing an ipad. i don’t know if i should get the 256GB ipad air 5th gen (which is like £820) which is the ipad tiktok recommends over and over again.
i want an ipad that’ll last (and ideally last for uni too) so i was thinking abt getting the air but spending that much money for a different chip feels ridiculous when a refurbished ipad air 4th gen is cheaper at apple for a price of like £560.
do i even need the air or would older gens of the pro be better? and if yes for the air, which gen should i get?

This is something that I have barely ever talked about to anyone but it’s always in the back of my head. When I was 13, I had a 23 year old ‘boyfriend.’ I was walking around my neighborhood with my cousin and he saw me and told me that I was so beautiful and told me he’d meet me in that alley every night at 7 pm. It was usual for the neighborhood kids to be out so I would go with my cousin and we’d talk, laugh, listen to music, have fun. BTW he never did anything to me, we never even MADE OUT, never forced me to do anything. This happened for about a month, we’d meet up and just hug and talk, then he’d go home and I’d go home. That was about 17 years ago so I didn’t have a cellphone and I would call him from a pay phone bc I didn’t want my parents to find out. We never talked about anything dirty and the furthest thing we did was share a lollipop and he grabbed me by my jeans’ loops and pulled me close to him and we were about to make out and I couldn’t do it. Why did I feel so happy and good about this? Thank FUCK it never went further than that. It feels so gross to think about now. Why would a 23 year old be attracted to a 13 year old? Yes I was very developed but that doesn’t matter. Just weird and gross.

Hi! Me and my friends have decided we wanna buy a van for long but seldom driven trips and temporary living. We wanna use it to travel around festivals, live out of it for a week tops, and drive back. It would be going on 500km max trips around once a month. Space, low price, and good ride quality are what we'd be looking for. I'm not looking for a full "van-life" van, we want the big space mostly to store stuff and fit in a couch and tables for comfy riding rather than make it a living space, we won't need to fit in like sinks or stoves etc.

Today was a fantastic day for mail. I was pleased to open the package and gaze upon the beautiful sight of the four wristbands. Knowing that in just over 21 days, we will embark on a new chapter, and anything will be possible.

I would like to talk about something different that I have experienced recently. I'm not usually a person who dreams a lot, but lately I've been seeing spiders in my dreams all the time. I see many spiders of different colors and varieties, large and small. In my dreams, these spiders appear in different places, sometimes inside an abandoned house, sometimes on the doorknob of my car. That's not the weird thing, the weird thing is that since I've had these dreams, l've been constantly encountering spiders in real life. It's not something that normally happens very often. I saw spiders in my car twice. This morning, as I carefully looked at the ceiling of my room, I saw a small spider dangling. a few days ago when i opened the kitchen cabinet i saw a dead spider in a bowl and again today while sitting at starbucks a spider fell from the ceiling on my lap. and a few more times i saw spiders in different places. I don't kill spiders, I push them slowly so they get away from me. But I don't know why they keep appearing in front of me. this started to get weird. I don't know what the meaning of seeing a spider in a dream is. I just wanted to share how I feel. And I would like to add one more thing, I am always on a journey in my dreams. I'm either going to the airport or traveling by ship. In my last dream, I found an abandoned car and ran away. I don't know where I'm going, but spiders are always with me. Spiders are everywhere in the trunk of the abandoned car, in the secret rooms of the ship, in the toilet of the airport.

This might sound like a silly/obvious question but hear me out.
I was witness to a discussion among some female associates. They were debating the topic of breastfeeding in public and the 'free the n*p' campaign.
A couple of the women said that the breasts are just another body part, which are there for breastfeeding and shouldn't really be seen as sexual body parts.
Most of the others said that they see their breasts as a private/sexual areas as they are technically 'female sex characteristics'. They also raised the point that if a stranger randomly touched a body part such as their elbow or shoulder, they wouldn't feel nearly as uncomfortable or violated as if a stranger touched their breasts.
What are your guys' thoughts on this?

We had some beautiful moments together but she told me that she doesn’t know what she wants. She won’t text me or anything. I am the conversation starter and it’s not that she won’t reply to me but we are not actively texting. We went on a date recently and she wants to go out again when she comes back after her vacation. She told me that things are gonna be very slow with her but I am not sure if she likes me or not. Shall I ask her after the second date or not? I don’t know what to do. I am in a complex situation right now 😅

It’s me again. I’m in the market for a new bike, and this time I’m not really sure what my best option is. I’m looking for something on the sporty side, preferably with fairings and a more upright seating position for street use. I also want to start going to track days so the 600 class has been in consideration, but I feel as if that’s gonna encourage some bad street riding habits, though I do consider myself to be a smart/safe rider. Through my research I think the KTM Duke 790 is exactly what I’m looking for, but they’re expensive and I don’t live near a dealer. Give me your suggestions!

As I sit at the edge of a stream near the entrance of my cave i Cast my gaze upon the tranquil scenery, I realize that it holds a newfound significance for me. It has provided me with sustenance, a source of water, and now a temporary respite from the stress of constant work. The fish continue their rhythmic dance in the water.
I reach for my fishing spear, determined to catch a meal to replenish my strength. As I prepare to strike, I hear a faint rustling from the nearby bushes. Instinctively, I grip the spear tighter and scan the surroundings. The eyes of the goblins still haunt my thoughts, reminding me that danger lurks even in the most peaceful moments.
Instead of a goblin that emerges from the brush. It is a creature unlike any I have encountered before—a majestic white pearlescent stag with antlers that seem to reach towards the heavens. Its eyes are filled swirling waves of a blue wisdom and a green of serenity that I have rarely witnessed.
The stag approaches the stream, its graceful movements leaving me in awe. It drinks from the water with a glowing reflection shimmering in the gentle ripples. I watch in silence, a mix of reverence and curiosity stirring within me. Could this be a sign? A guiding presence in this harsh world?
The stag lifts its head, its gaze meeting mine. For a brief moment, time stands still. And then, as if acknowledging my presence, it takes a step closer, its hooves barely making a sound on the soft earth.
In that moment, a realization dawns upon me. The goblins, the battles, the struggle to survive—they are but a small part of a much greater tapestry of the journey to come. There are forces at play beyond my comprehension, and while they may not have taken notice of my deeds, they have sent me a message through this ethereal encounter.

Inside the cave, I take stock of my resources. Though limited, they are enough to begin the task at hand. And get to work smoothing down the hard stone again until it is the right shape. Then heat up the rock in my fore and then drip cold water along the edge to shatter bits off to make a sharp edge. Then I find the largest bone in the bone pile seemingly a femur and with some work and supplies I bind them together. Lastly I char the bone to seal it.

Using this makeshift tool, I venture into the surrounding forest, seeking sturdy trees suitable for reinforcement. With each swing of the axe, I feel a sense of empowerment. The axe bites into the wood, and with each felled tree, I feel like it's getting easier. Then chopping the tree into logs and branches. I gather logs and branches, forming a stockpile near the cave entrance. I return multiple times, driven by a relentless determination to create a formidable barrier against any future onslaught. I also collect large rocks from the nearby riverbed, utilizing them to strengthen the cave's entrance.
Hours turn into days as I toil, the sweat mingling with the dirt on my brow. With each passing moment, the cave transforms into a sanctuary that reflects my resilience. The once-vulnerable entrance is now fortified with thick logs and sturdy rocks, creating a formidable barrier that would give even the most determined goblin pause.
As I stand back to survey my handiwork, a sense of accomplishment washes over me. I make a simple stone chisel with a replaceable head and useing the same sharp stone, I shape smaller logs into makeshift furniture—a crude bed, a rough-hewn table, and even a shelf to store my meager belongings. I carve niches into the walls to hold torches, their flickering light banishing the shadows that once haunted this place.
As I sit on my newly crafted bed, a flicker of the white stag's presence dances in my mind. Many improvements can be made, few expansions can be made tho and only minor differences can be erected. I close my eyes, allowing the exhaustion to wash over me, knowing that tomorrow will bring new challenges. But with the wisdom of the stag etched into my soul and the strength of my defenses surrounding me, I find solace in the knowledge that I am prepared. And with 5 stat points I should be able to see a difference after using them.
The goblins may regroup and seek revenge, or another threat can raise it's ugly head but they will find a changed man awaiting them—a warrior with a fortified sanctuary, a soul.
