2023.06.07 14:54 krangles90 Tarkov 4k optimisation -4090
Hey!
I’m fairly new to Tarkov first wipe 60 hours in lvl 13.
By far the most rewarding and thrilling fps experience i’ve ever encountered.
I’ve got a fairly good rig : 5800x3d, 32 gb 3733mzh ram, 4090 and running it in 4k LG C2.
I’ve noticed i only get 40-70% gpu utilization on most maps running on 4k. Is that because the game is poorly optimized ? For example i was running Streets the other day and i was hitting 80fps and gpu usage at 30%
Any tips and tricks to help me solve this ?
Thanks in advance

Hey. I'm an atheist. An ex-Hindu fruitcake.
My school still does prayers. There's a law in India prohibiting public schools from conducting prayers, but nowhere in the rulebook is mentioned anything about private schools. My school, is, you guessed it, private! It's run by a Hindu.
Kids of all different religions attend, but we're all meant to stand for the Gayatri Mantra every day. My Biology teacher claims that the Ram-Raksha gives you "peace of mind". Well, not for me!
(Also, please don't shit on my Biology teacher. Although she is religious she's surprisingly liberal and open to new ideas. I agree that she shouldn't claim that it works, but that's the only thing I don't see eye-to-eye with her... yet.)

2023.06.07 14:47 eray71 Buzzing sound coming from AUX port after new motherboard installed.
Hi all, i recently upgraded by desktop's motherboard, CPU, and RAM. I went from a MSI B450 Tomohawk (with a Ryzen 3 3900) to a MSI PRO 650 with a Ryzen 7 7700 and now i am having a buzzing sound problem.
With the new Mobo, when I am in the BIOS (or when i start/restart the computer, but before Windows boots) there is a very loud buzzing coming from the speakers. It is not just the speakers as it happens with another pair of speakers and headphones as well- anything plugged into the 3.5mm AUX on the rear or the 3.5mm AUX on the front of the Mobo. The buzzing, however, stops once windows boots.
What makes this even more confusing is that when i installed the previous motherboard (the B450) in 2020, i got a new buzzing WHEN WINDOWS WAS RUNNING - i solved this by installing a grounding isolation loop (
https://www.amazon.com/BESIGN-Ground-Isolator-Stereo-System/dp/B06XQYN77L). Now, when the isolator is installed, there is buzzing in the BIOS/before boot, but it goes away upon boot. But when i remove the isolator, the buzzing is gone in the BIOS, and exists when Windows is loaded. Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks!

2023.06.07 14:41 perrybmw New build, not sure about my RAM and SSD choice
Hello everyone!
I am planning on building a new pc using my old ATX case. The parts I have selected for now are listed below. I am pretty happy with the CPU, GPU and motherboard choice. But about the RAM and SSD I am not so sure.
For the CPU cooler I would use the one included in the box.
For the PSU I was planning on just buying a minimum 500W one from a reputable brand.
A year or so ago I bought a new M.2 NVMe SSD 970 EVO PLUS 500GB. Can I use this one instead of buying a new one or should I get a newer and better one instead?
I have chosen all my items below from the same website and am planning on buying everything from them. (
www.alternate.be )
I am happy to hear any suggestions about my parts.
Thank you!
• CPU: Intel core i3-13100F @ €114,90 • Motherboard: MSI Pro Z690-P DDR4 @ €159,90 • RAM: G.Skill 32GB DDR4-3600 2 x 16 kit @ €77,90 • GPU: ASUS Dual Radeon RX 6600 V2 8GB @ €219,90 • Storage: Kingston SSD KC3000 512GB @ €57,90

Hi, I just recently bought a new CPU, GPU, and PSU to power those. Specs:
- CPU: Ryzen 5800x
- MoBo: Asrock b450m Steel Legend *not new
- GPU: EVGA 3080 FTW
- PSU: EVGA Supernova G3 750W
- RAM: 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB *not new
- Hard drives and SSDs etc.
While the system works fine usually, it sometimes randomly crashes and then reboots. This could be on idle, but I have been able to reproduce it pretty reliably through playing Overwatch 2 (usually quits and reboots at the 10 min mark). I’ve also stress tested it pretty heavily, and it never crashes during those (using OCCT’s suite). After checking Event Viewer, I see the error is marked as
A fatal hardware error has occurred.
Reported by component: Processor Core Error Source: Machine Check Exception Error Type: Bus/Interconnect Error Processor APIC ID: 14*
Although APIC IDs do vary between errors, so I don’t believe it’s simply one core. Also the processor is running at stock as well as the ram (no oc or under volt applied).
I took a look at some of the minidumps as well, and it displays that the crash is caused by driver PSHED.dll and address PSHED.dll+15b0. Also, is there a preferred way to share these dmp files?
I’ve tried multiple things like flashing new bios, updating chipset, disabling xmp, having everything run at default settings. One thing that I just tried was swapping out the gpu for my old one (a 2070), and I’ve played probably about an hour now uninterrupted. Could this error be caused by my gpu or maybe my psu not being sufficient enough to power my gpu? I’m still going to keep testing, but I also don’t know if I need a new PSU or GPU lol.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

2023.06.07 14:30 KindKingMatthew Cold Air Intake or not???
I know this has been a conversation repeated over and over but I can’t decide if I should go this route.
I have. 2013 JCW. I would like some more power, I also would like it to sound cool (lol).
I currently have a JB+ as well as a resonator deleted in the exhaust system.
The ram air systems seem pretty cool but is it worth the price?
Cold (hot) air intakes make noise but lose low end power
New K&N filter may add a few HP but no added noise.
Please let me know your experiences/ dynos / opinions.
Thank you in advance for your input.

2023.06.07 14:15 TheXYZGamer_ Looking to buy a muscle car
I currently have a 2016 Ram 1500 with high mileage and am looking to switch over to a car with low mileage and a V8. I live in KY and winters here are hit and miss though I do have a backup vehicle for snow (94 S10 Blazer). I have been looking at the Camaro, Charger, Challenger, and the Mustang. Though I do not know many people that have owned these cars. However I do like the sound of the mustang but that’s about it on fords side. GM I like their new infotainment system and the 6.2 engine. As for dodge I do like the 5.7 but would like something different. I can drive a manual so I am not sure how that would effect the value since the average buyer these days doesn’t know how to drive a stick. I’d be grateful for you guys to help me out, I appreciate it!

2023.06.07 14:03 Sigecaps22 Practical implications of M2 MBP 512gb SSD speed
In the market for a new laptop. Is it dumb to buy the base M2 MacBook Pro for light use if I don’t truly need the processing speed or storage? Will be using for web, media consumption, recreational photo editing, electronic medical records (Epic). Was thinking about the 15” MBA but much prefer the additional ports, better screen, and have dual monitors set up at home so would like to be able to use them. Don’t need to maximize portability. Ordered last night but was then reading about the 512gb SSD speeds and wondering I should instead get 1TB instead? Or if for practical purposes and my use it won’t actually matter. I have 100gb free on my 512gb computer now but could transfer a lot of that to external, and I won’t be transferring large amounts of data regularly, but also wondering if with 16gb RAM I’ll be missing the faster SSD speeds, even for generally light use?

2023.06.07 14:01 Noizla Support claims the new XPS 15 does not support 90W Thunderbolt monitor
I've had an issue with the new 2023 XPS 15 where upon connecting it to our office standard U4021QW monitors via thunderbolt, the system works as expected up to a minute and then just black-screens and cannot be rebooted before disconnecting the thunderbolt cable. Same thing happens in Windows, Ubuntu or just sitting in the BIOS. After having support send technicians thrice to swap out motherboards, ram, daughterboards and having the same issue persist they gave up and replaced my system entirely. The same issue appeared with the replacement and I opened another support ticket. After answering the support rep's questions they told me as the system is supplied with a 130W charger, and the monitor only supplies 90W over thunderbolt, our office setup of just connecting the single cable to connect to monitors and charge is not supported.
I have colleagues with 2022 XPS 15s supplied with 130W chargers that connect and charge just fine.
Is it actually the case that a 2023 high-end laptop cannot connect to a monitor? If no, what could be possible causes? Thanks

I'm not big into tech so I'm just not sure what are old or new pieces of hardware (and therefore, what's a good or bad deal). It will be used for emails, website maintenance and some light gaming (nothing crazy graphics or frame rate wise).
Doesn't have to be cheap but if anyone can guide me around what kind of RAM I'd need, processor recommendations or any other specs I'd be really grateful!

| Hi everyone, I'm new to all of this, did a lot of reading here and there but I'm lost with a very simple question regarding the naming convention of the models' binaries. For exemple here, we have the wizardlm model: -7B, the small one, wich is 7 billion weights right? And may be ok with 8gb of ram? -It is a ggml variant wich is optimized to run on CPU, v3 stands for it's version I guess. -Then we have q4/q5 for quantization, wich mean that variables used by the neural network are on 4 or 5 bits. -At the end there is a _0 or _1, what does it stand for? submitted by No_Afternoon_4260 to LocalLLaMA [link] [comments] |
