Saw a real moron today.
Driving down Sturt St, to the UFS pharmacy, we’re stopped at the traffic lights (can’t think of the street name but the pharmacy is on the left just past the lights), and there’s this woman, indicator on. She’s turning right. Instead of going straight ahead (into that middle bit) she turns toward the waiting cars. I’m making a ‘what the fuck are you doing’ gesture and she waves at me. I figure she’s going to try and turn around, do a bit of a u turn.
She drives between oncoming traffic (thank god the lights were still red), passes my car and several others, then pulls to the left.
This other lady in the car next to mine throws her hands up and we both look at each other wondering what the heck just happened.

• if anyone decently educated wants a decent job- leave wb and move to south India/mumbai/ncr. my family members who refused to search for jobs outside wb are either unemployed or stuck in low paying jobs for which they are overqualified
• there has been a huge surge in the number of autos and totos in barrackpore and other towns and I'm assuming they are being operated by educated youth who found no other jobs elsewhere. the vehicle numbers have increased so much that these vehicles often run at half capacity during peak times. most of the time the drivers are begging pedestrians walking by to board their vehicles. the entire stretch of road from barrackpore station to barrackpore court has been converted to one giant toto stand.
• there's no hope of getting government jobs unless you are from reservation or can bribe politicians
• there are no jobs even for highly educated people having masters degree and phd. the job competition is extremely fierce and positions are so few that such people even apply for group D positions. those who fail turn to private tutoring and yes, there are so many private tutors nowadays that even phd people are tutoring class 5 kids just to earn their livelihood.
