2023.03.26 14:21 twlentwo Every race should have unique trophies

Basicly every series have unique trophies for every event. The design often resembles the culture of the location. It makes every event feel special on its own. For example look at the Hungarian GP trophies from F1.
And just imagine how boring it is as a driver to receive the same exact trophy at every race, while you are racing in a world championship, visiting countries all over the world.
It can also make podium celebrations more interesting. Now, it feels like the exact same event on repeat

2023.03.26 14:21 Stress_Eater_panick Broke up with my fiancé after 14years

I (33F) feel that I have to write to tell someone what is happening in detail because I am too ashamed to do it in person. Do I know the reason for the shame? No, but I've been hiding all this from the world for so long that I don't even know what to think anymore. I have always felt undesirable and unlovable because of my physical appearance, as if I only deserved what I received from A(M33), because what he gave me was an honor and it was the best I would ever get from someone….but these are the Reasons why I decided to leave him: 1. He cheated on me with 7 girls, with one he had a real relationship for two whole years, and he enjoys flirting with anyone without thinking it's a problem. 2. He hit me 4 times, each time blaming me each time, saying i made him too angry he lies to me all the time, even about the little everyday things. 3. He expects me to be his maid and to accept him without complaining, without ever reciprocating, when I come home late from work he goes out of his way to come back even later so I have to be the one prepping dinner, the day after lunch and breakfast. 4. Every time he comes home he is in a different mood, i dont know if he will scold me or yell at me or he will offend me, he never comes home saying anything nice to me. 5. He always tries to get what he wants, he doesn't agree to do the things that interest me, no walks, no museums, no moments together outside the house, if we were together it was to do something he liked and I had to adapt. 6. If he had to do something inside the house that he needed, like his precious TV cables, I couldn't even stay in the house and he would kick me out 7. He offends me when he doesn't get what he wants by trying to belittle me and look down on the person I am 8. If he needed to use my name to deliver illegal packages, like steroids, he did. 9. He forced me to gain weight because at 70 kg I disgusted him and he would never touch me again. 10. When I was sick I had to ask him to do things for me because otherwise he pretended to be worried for the first few hours and then demanded that I do everything for him. 11. He was always too tired to help around the house but never tired enough to skip the gym 12. He made me wait in the middle of the street with a fever because he wanted me to wait for him outside the gym on December 31st in town where I knew nobody. 13. He stopped me from going out with friends so many times that i ended up having no friends. 14. He made me wait outside his house on the stairs without dinner while he had dinner with his parents because on the weekends when I came home from college he didn't want to take me out to dinner nor letting me have dinner with my parents. 15. He sexually humiliated me forcing me to even put up with his peeing on top of me and his other perversions, he got me drunk when he didn't get what he wanted. 16. He was never enthusiastic about my victories but he said good and kept talking about himself, he always tried to ruin my beautiful moments, for example, when I received my new car from my parents he immediately told me that he didn't like it and then he scolded me because I had gone for a drive with my parents and I hadn't waited until he was free (obviously he was at the gym).
Last night I told him that he has to leave my house and the first thing he did was offend me, telling me I'm a bitch, cynical and selfish, that I never loved him and that he wants to be paid for moral damages.
I’ve realised I was being manipulated when I decided to proposed to me and I had a panic attack.
I hope he will leave soon.
Thank you for reading my story.

2023.03.26 14:21 Trick_Repair_5270 Doesn't this debunk abrahamic religions (and Islam) ?

So we all are familiar with the concept of heaven and hell, as commonly understood in islam and christianity - with heaven being a place of eternal bliss and hell being a place of eternal torment.
We also are all aware that this conceptactually predates Abrahamic religions. Ancient Egyptian religion, for example, featured the god Osiris, who judged the souls of the dead, sending the righteous to a paradise called the "Field of Reeds" and consigning the wicked to a place of eternal punishment. Similarly, in ancient Greek mythology, the underworld was ruled by Hades, who judged the souls of the dead and determined their fate.
Given the similarities between the concepts of heaven and hell in Abrahamic religions and those in other religions, cultures, and mythologies that preceded them, it is (in my opinion) clear that Abrahamic religions drew inspiration from these ancient religions and mythologies and developed over time. Judaism, the first abrahamic religion, was influenced by the religions that preceded it, and the same is true for Christianity and, finally, Islam who was greatly inspired by christianity in my opinion.

It raises the question: if the Torah, the Bible, and the Quran were really divine revelations, how is it that people who lived long before the Abrahamic religions also had similar ideas about heaven and hell, as well as the concepts of good and bad deeds?
This suggests that religion is a human invention, created to provide structure and meaning for humans, and that these religions have evolved over time, with each one building upon the ideas of those that came before it.

What You Get Phase 0) Digital Economics 101 The Digital Economics 101 module will open 1 week prior to the cohort start date. This is an onboarding module that will get you up to speed so we can get straight into the material. This will be required to finish before the start date.
  • Gain a deep understanding of all of the pieces in the digital economy.
  • Learn about the future of media and code — the front-end and backend of the internet — so you can focus your efforts.
  • Understand digital leverage, distribution, no-code tools, and digital assets so you can take part in the mental & financial wealth transfer.
Phase 1) Creating A Meaningful Niche Every day I hear people going on and on about trying to find their niche.I also hear people talking about how they don’t know how to combine what they love talking about with *what will sell.*You already have the answer. You just don’t have the clarity.
  • Develop a long-term strategy to create your own niche — meaning you don’t have to worry about your “competition” playing status games.
  • Discover your life’s work, curiosities, and obsessions. I see too many people that are uncertain about this for years.
  • Cultivate and turn your vision, goals, and values into a brand that attracts an audience you love interacting with (and that will buy from you, and only you).
Phase 2) Content Strategy There is one thing that separates those who make it in the digital economy and those who don’t.It’s the quality, articulation, and perceived originality of their content. The content you post has to make sense to the people you attract.Everyone has a different voice and tone that they resonate with. **That they are congruent with and trust.**It has to change their thought patterns or behavior — that’s what makes you memorable. That’s what separates you from the sea of people posting surface-level copy-cat style posts.Example and putting my money where my mouth is:
  • Become an expert-level speaker or writer on the topics you care about.
  • Never run out of content ideas for your posts or promotions (without using content templates — that’s how you stay a commodity).
  • Create posts, blogs, tweets, images, and videos that resonate with other’s on a deep level. People will actually ask you how you got so good at what you do.
  • Separate yourself from the ocean of B-tier creators that struggle to sell their products, services, andhave their ideas stick in the head of their audience.
  • Implement our Epistemic Research Method — which is just a fancy way of saying scientific research method… but it’s for researching your mind to craft brilliant content and product ideas.
Phase 3) Crafting Your Offer Most people are sitting on a goldmine of skills, experience, and knowledge (that they can use to help people 1-2 steps behind them). That is what people pay for.Considering 95% of the market are beginners… if you are good at something, you can help them get to your level (no matter how “basic” you think the information is).Do you not watch basic content all day anyway? People don’t want new information, they want to be reminded of what works.
  • Use our Minimum Viable Offer strategy to start monetizing immediately (and have something to improve over time, rather than procrastinating until it’s perfect).
  • Have a strategy for reducing the time you spend working over time (as you build leverage and improve your offer).
  • Know how to create your own customers from the audience you are building, instead of “finding” the right customer for your offer.
  • Take the guesswork out of building coaching, consulting, or digital product offers.
Phase 4) Marketing Strategy You aren’t making money because you aren’t promoting yourself or your offer. That is literally the only way to make money. Have something desirable and consistently put it in front of peoples’ faces. In Phase 4, I will show you how to systemize, automate, and be consistent with simple will be able to make money without having the chance of forgetting to do it (or letting fear of failure get in the way).
  • Learn to sell on social media, in your writing, and across different platforms.
  • Have consistent sales coming in while focusing on your meaningful message (no need to sound salesy all the time).
  • Learn advanced automation strategies that you can implement at your own pace, especially once you validate your offer.
Bonus) The Creator Command Center The Creator Command Center is a Notion template that houses all of the systems. This is how you will manage your brand, content, offer creation, marketing strategy, and systemized promotions for consistent sales. Bonus) Live Product Build & Launch In the first Digital Economics Cohort, I built out my course The 2 Hour Writer.I have videos showing how I build it with the strategies in phase 3 and 4.There is a bonus module that shows how I had an $85,000 launch that resulted in my first $100K month.I did this to prove the strategies inside Digital Economics work if you stick to the plan.***And, this past Black Friday, I blew my that monthly high out of the water in 4 days.***That’s the power of these strategies if you stay consistent with your life’s work.

2023.03.26 14:20 gustavoflauberto Some thoughts on the Metric System

It’s hard to argue against the claim that our decimal counting system comes from the fact that we have 10 fingers and toes, i.e., digits. Based on this human universal, ten seems to be the number of trade, of agreement on a standard measurement, the number of the meter, whether or not you’re wearing shoes, the number of numbers. Other counting systems coexisted with the decimal system, but they are all eventually superseded when civilizations grow and interact. Thus, while our digits appear to be the material cause of the decimal system, commerce and its universalization is the efficient cause. Pythagoras, who inherited and solidified the decimal system of the Greeks, who got it from the Babylonians (along with a base-60 system for time and other circles), seemed to give the decimal system a final cause, considering 10 a special number, since it was the sum of 1,2,3, and 4, each of which individually had some mystical significance (the unity, the dyad, the triad, the totality). Together these 10 points formed the tetractys, the fourth triangular figure. The 2:1, 3:2, and 4:3 ratios represent the octave, the fifth, and the fourth, respectively. Universal sonic concepts, in Pythagorean tuning. These ratios also represent universal visual concepts. For example, 2:3 is a stand-in for the Golden Ratio, which is approached by the successive members of the Fibonacci sequence: 1:2, 2:3, 3:5, 5:8 etc.) I stare at the tetractys and try to imagine a single property of 10 that makes it transcend the number of fingers we have to count on, and I draw a blank. Who cares if these originary numbers add up to 10? Does it have any further geometric or Platonic significance? Hard to say.
We may have 10 fingers on our hands, but we have 20 fingers and toes, and we have 12 finger joints on each hand, so we can count and even do manual base-12 arithmetic, counting up to 144, that we cannot do with base-10. Words like dozen and quatre-vingt and even eleven and twelve hint at a linguistic basis in other counting systems in early European society. Standards like the Roman-defined twelve inch foot, the Norman-defined 120 acre carucate, and the 5,280 foot mile (mille passus) represent compromises between varying counting systems—again extending at least back to the Babylonian—and the nature of things measured: how far a Roman can walk, how much a team of oxen can plow, the length of a barleycorn. To this day, grids on US maps are marked on 40 acre squares, or 1/3 of a carucate. These systems were gradually replaced from the High Middle Ages onward, when Arabs brought exotic goods, numerals, the concept of zero, and ancient Greek thoughts about the mystical perfection of 10.
At least by the 18th century, the inch itself had been divided into 16ths, or 2^4. This was apparently because 16, with 2 as its only prime factor, has non-repeating decimal equivalents, multiples of still-awkward .0625, as opposed to .083333… for 1/12 (1/12 would of course be .1 in base-12). While there is some intuitive sense in deriving smaller subdivisions of measurement by progressively halving your unit of length, this is obviously not the case with the meter, which is base-10 all the way down. There is no a priori geometric or arithmetic reason that halving a measurement is easier than equally subdividing it any other way. Pre-industrial artisans could construct just about any necessary ratios (or geometric shapes) using a compass and a straight edge. US framing squares still mark 12ths for measuring angles that match roof slopes, which are given in feet of rise over 12 feet of run. 12 feet divide neatly into 16” section or 24” sections, which is standard US spacing for studs, joists, and rafters, which fit neatly into the 4’x8’ sheets of plywood and drywall that get placed on the walls, and which must break evenly. Standard sheets of drywall in the metric system are, ironically, 1.2 x 2.4 meters, laid across supports spaced at 60 centimeters.
While 1, 2, 3, and 4 may add up to 10, they are all factors of 12. That is, a quarter and a third of twelve can be represented as whole numbers, not so with 10. Not counting 1 and itself, twelve has four factors: 2, 3, 4, and 6, while 10 only has 2 and 5. It may be argued that 10, basically having two and only two, prime factors, has some elegance, but I’m not sure what benefit that provides.
There are 12 edges on a cube and octahedron, 12 faces on a dodecahedron. 3,4, and 6 are the numbers of sides on the regular shapes that can nest infinitely. There are 12 lunar cycles in a solar cycle, twelve hours in a day. 12 is a lower “circular” number than 60, but shares some of its features, while still allowing memorizable multiplication tables. While there are other, non-Western tuning systems that do not divide the octave into 12 tones, they all maintain the concepts of the fourth and the fifth, and none of note that use 10 tones. It’s true that we have ten fingers and toes, and it’s true that the height of the Vitruvian man, in whose form the proportions of classical architecture are hidden, is 1/10 the length of his hand. But he is also 24 palms tall, and the width of his shoulders and length of his forearm and his femur are 1/4 of his height, while his shin is 1/6 of his height. His face is divided into thirds: bottom of chin to bottom of nose, height of nose, height of ears. 12, a more circular, more harmonic, more architectural system, re-presents our most human and most natural ratios rather than merely metaphorically representing them via addition as 10 did for Pythagoras.
When the Enlightenment converged with the Industrial Revolution, the French, of course, decided that everything had to be “rationalized”. Driven by their ideals, the ever-increasing standardization of units for trade, and the industrial technologies necessary to produce and be produced by these standardizations, they adopted the meter, meaning simply measure, originally as a fraction of the earth’s circumference. They also attempted to decimalize time. While maintaining the 12 months, they made 10-day weeks composing 30 day months, which they renamed to things that you only now hear about as adjectives in Marxist critiques (the Eighteenth Brumaire is November 9, The Thermidorean Reaction on 9 Thermidor or July 27). They also attempted to decimalize minutes and hours, etc., etc., it’s all so boring and predictable, and was all eventually abolished by Napoleon. Attempts to make the meter “geometric” again failed, since the Earth itself was not constant enough. Eventually it was calculated relative to a wavelength of a certain spectrum of light, which apparently still had too many sources for error, now it is calculated relative to the speed of light, itself relative to seconds, defined as the time it takes for a cesium atom to vibrate a certain number of times.
Despite geniuses like the Canadian (the Canadian mish-mash of US and Metric is really something, by the way) Simon Newcomb wanting the same thing for the US, including the foolish decimalization of time, our dogged hatred of everything French has in this case saved us from the form of rationalization, while still succumbing to its content. Or is it the other way around. We still use tape measures. We still work in 16ths of an inch. And US standards of length are defined as decimal representations of the meter. In a broader sense, all ratio and proportion have fallen to the number of standardization. When I call out 25 and 13/16s, I am sure that my coworker can reproduce that measurement with his own tape, though slight differences must still be compared and accounted for when doing fine carpentry work.
It seems obvious that a better rationalization for measurements would have been to switch over wholesale to a duodecimal/dozenal system of counting. Of course, this could never happen because not even the French could imagine it. There’s something stubborn in our digits, and what is stubborn is good to rest on for standardization. But what is good for standardization is not what is most human or natural, to the ear, to the eye, to build shelter, or to rest on. It’s apparently good for the precision needed for GPS, but for the vast number of everyday tasks, and even scientific tasks, it is not too useful, nor even scientific, only digital.
Consider the words of C.S. Peirce, who himself argued for decimalization and first proposed using wavelengths to standardize the meter:
> The non-scientific mind has the most ridiculous ideas of the precision of laboratory work, and would be much surprised to learn that, excepting electrical measurements, the bulk of it does not exceed the precision of an upholsterer who comes to measure a window for a pair of curtains.
Not sure what I’m trying to get at here.

2023.03.26 14:20 Dinnerwave their boundaries violate your boundaries?

I'm hoping for some validation and insight because it's a little crazy making.
It's basically that I felt hurt from some behavior this person did and I have trouble saying much of anything in the moment from the shock of it, but once I've processed it, I then explained that it hurt. This happened more than once. It could be a day or a month.
He was so angry and described it as feeling attacked and picked on, like I need to mention things right away otherwise it is not okay. I think I already know this is not healthy and controlling but it's so hard hearing someone so convinced of their own boundary
They were giving an example like punching back after being punched is self defense but if you wait then it's assault. All I said was such and such hurt me.
Thank you

2023.03.26 14:18 KAUSHIK166 Need Destiny 2 players

Well as the title says we are 5 people and need one more, so you see we can have a proper team of six perfect for raids. You should be able to speak Hindi because not everyone can communicate in english. We do raids every sat night starting from 11pm because everyone is available at that time. And lastly some of us don't know the mechanics of a lot of raids including me, but once we get the hang of it would be much easier, for example the first time we did the RON raid it took us 7 hours xD only one guy knew the raid but after that 2hrs. I know I am asking for a lot here but I don't just wanna lie and make people join by saying we know every raid mechanic and waste their time, but I promise you we will get there in time. So if you are up let me know, more than one is also appreciated.

2023.03.26 14:17 TM87_1e17 kingbit - a new iOS game that's sort of like chess, but the pieces take up multiple squares... it's free to play, has a "versus computer" mode and online async multiplayer!

kingbit combines two of my favourite games: The Nightfall Incident and chess.
The game is easy to learn and quick to play... a full match is about 5-10 minutes (a perfect substitute for reddit toilet scrolling!!). If you like "Really Bad Chess", "Pawnbarian" or "Hero Academy", I think you'll really enjoy it!
Also, I'm excited to say that Apple just featured the game last week in the US Store with the Editors' Note:
Try one of the most intriguing reimaginings of the classic board game we’ve seen.
If you're curious, you can watch some example gameplay here and learn more and (follow my progress) in the /kingbit sub.
And, to celebrate the release of "Tabletop" mode in v1.1 (play locally against friends with a single device) I'm giving away 20 "Tabletop" IAP codes to the first 20 users who comment something like:

2023.03.26 14:16 baconnkegs How common is it for your roster to swap and change when working DIDO / FIFO (Australia)?

I joined my current company towards the end of last year on the premise that I'd be site-based on a 2/1 roster. However between delays from the client, wet weather and a few other minor issues, I have only really spent a total of 5 swings onsite since the end of October.
In similar situations with my previous company, my roster would never change. If site was flooded and there was no point of me being there, they'd just say to work from home or the office on my usual roster until things went back to normal.
With my current company though... The moment I'm not going to site, I'm straight back to M-F in the office with little to no warning. It's a royal pain in the ass when trying to organise anything, and I'm finding the sudden roster changes are constantly eating into my annual leave when I have stuff planned. A couple of examples:
  1. I was off from 23/12 - 03/01. Based on my roster and public holidays, I was originally only going to have to take 2 days of annual leave. Site got rained out on 16/12, and suddenly I'm back to M-F, and had to use up 7 days of leave instead.
  2. I had a week's holiday with the fam in Feb, all of which was supposed to be covered by my week off. The client threw a couple of delays at us and suddenly I'm back to M-F, and the boss is asking for my annual leave form for the week. There goes another 5 days.
There are several other times where I've had my plans uprooted, such as trying to move houses, plans to visit the parents, birthdays being missed, etc, but the abovementioned two are the ones that piss me off the most being that they've essentially eaten through all of my annual leave.
As a whole, I'm just getting to that stage now where I'm sick of being screwed around by the constant roster changes, and I'm at the point where I don't think I'm going to make it through the next 12-18 months on the project. Is this kind of behaviour common with FIFO and DIDO roles or am I just stuck with a shitty company?

2023.03.26 14:16 _ToughChickpea My (29f) husband (32m) treats me like a child

We’ve been together for 6 years, married for almost 3. Last year we got our first child together - a sweet little baby boy.
Since our boy was born my husband started treating me like I’m a child - he belittles me whenever I suggest raising our boy in a way he doesn’t agree with - for example: I noticed he eats way more and better if I let him hold his own spoon and make a mess while he eats, than if I just shove spoons in his mouth. Husband thinks I am teaching him bad habits and is calling me stupid for it. He delegates household tasks to me in a condescending matter, like my mother used to when I was a teenager - in a “do this and this and that or else” matter. I’ve always been a creative person, but he crushes my enthusiasm with disinterest every time I create something I’m proud of… Sometimes he yells at me in front of our son for the smallest things - today I let him be on our bed without a diaper because he has a bit of a rash and you know shit happens (pun intended) and he pooped on our bed. When my husband saw he threw the toilet paper roll at me and started yelling how terrible I am for letting our boy stay on the bed without a diaper.
It’s making me feel so small and so damn stupid and angry at the same time. And I have no idea what to do… I just know I don’t want my boy to remember his parents like this.
If I try talking to him about it, he just brushes me off and we never get anywhere… Or we just start arguing. I really am at a loss here.

2023.03.26 14:16 Ziggi28 I just want to truly fit in a group and have true friends

I feel like my whole social life and life in a way has been on a constant journey to merely fit in. I didn't care what I had to, how I was supposed to do it. I literally just wanted a common interest or hobby where my friends and I would enjoy it in all its glory to my hearts content (and theirs too).
I've also gone through changes recently. For example, not being religious anymore. That had a fairly large impact on my social life. Lockdown also had an impact on my social skills.
I do have friends at the moment. But because of my lack of socialising and lack of number of friends I just feel empty. Everytime I talk to a group of people more commonly than usual I have little daydreams of us being the best of friends later on in life.
For example gaming was a big FOMO (and still is). Not growing up with certain games/movies/shows. I don't know how to explain it but my mindset has changed a lot. After going into atheism and nihilism, I constantly think my life is on a timer. I always say shit like I'm on a 80 year contract and that I need to accomplish everything within that time before it expires.
I just don't know what to do. I'm currently playing a game I enjoy but find super difficult and kinda grindy (Bloodborne if you want to know). I really want to get a PS5 as there's more in stock and play some critically acclaimed masterpieces people say a lot on gaming subreddits.
But I also want to get a switch as I've never played pokemon. I consider it to be one of the FOMO franchises.
Anyways so I'm not sure what to do at this point. I probably should be focusing on education and other shit but this making my mind constantly stagnant.

2023.03.26 14:14 stark33per Overall game impressions and feedback.

I ve been playing all Diablo games and enjoyed all of them for god knows how many hours. D3 was my least favourite but I still played it a lot and enjoy it.
As for Diablo 4.
-MUSIC: The music and ambiental sounds make for a pretty good diablo atmosphere overall. The music in D3 wasn t bad, it was just very fanfare and theatrical too often for a game about killing demons in the dark.
-TRANSMOG/CHARACTER APPEARANCES: These are very nice and really make your characters look cool. A small note: since it looks so great overall, It could use having more faces/hairstyles/beards etc. Kinda of a waste to have so few hairstyles and faces etc for such a good system.
The BAD:
-INNOVATION AND COMPLEXITY, although having a good foundation, feels like a very basic or bare-bones aRPG. It feels like an improved Diablo 3 which should ve come 5 years ago. Given that these games launch about 10 years apart, you would expect more interesting features and systems for them. Sure, you don t need to reinvent the wheel, but it s not the case here. I know it s just level 25, but we ve seen a lot of the basic systems and the community updates. As someone on this reddit said, "here s an improved d3 with a play schedule". I ll further detail individually down why I think the game is a bare-bones aRPG.
-SKILLS: There are less/almost equal skills (not to mention Runes) for D4 than in D3. You take the Necromancer for example. It has around 19 active skills in D4 plus one of two runes you can pick from. There are also few passives scattered around. In D3 you have 21 skills with 5 runes each. Factoring in the runes, it does seem like there are more skills in Diablo 3. We could maybe add The Book of the dead Skeleton and Golem skills and maybe we get on par. With so few skills in D4 it seems like there won t be too many different builds. Sure, endgame gear and paragons can alter these skills a lot but..it s the same few skills at the end. Maybe they started with few skills so they can add more over time.
-STATS/ITEM STATS: We get more or less the exact same stats/amount of different stats like in Diablo 3. They are boiled down into attack defense and regeneration. Looks like a mobile game honestly. Item Stats themselves are rather boring and insignificant except for few like +to X Skill. Items are pretty boring (I know it s lvl 25 but we ve seen many items over time). It all boils down to the most important stat, the legendary power. It was always the plan for this since they announced D4 and you could see that they tried to make item stats look more complex but kept the original idea: Legendary power is what matters most. The rest is filler for the attack/defense/regeneration display. Since these are the items, the gems fall in the same category, no interesting stats just basic dull stuff.
-ENEMIES: There seem to be few monster types so far, which you encounter repeatedly and very often. Most of them do not seem to have some unique feature/mechanic besides name and model or some noticeable unique feature mechanic. They seem to be just fodder for champion/elites affixes to stick to. Mob density is very low regardless of taking the giant empty world zones in account. Might be level related. Bosses/Mini Bosses seen so far aren t memorable at all and seem to have AI generated clunky names, like in wow. But wow has thousands of npcs and bosses and mobs created over 15 years..understandable. But D4? eh.
-UI: The Interface is hard to understand often, even considering it s been designed for consoles. Some things are really impractical, like the minimap which is irrevelant since zones are so big and you don t see much on the minimap. There is no transparent map overlay which forces you to press M to open the giant map very very often. A simple D2 overlay would fix this. After all, it can be disabled. The font used for the items on the ground is horrid, as in it is the basic font used in all pseudo-games/rpgs on mobile. Not only it doesn t look like the rest of the game, but it s ugly {personal opinion}. Probably it was chosen because it is a clearer font for consoles. This font is used in mobile games because of the small screen they are being played on. With consoles and pc's this shouldn t be the case. Also why isn t the central skill bar tied to the bottom edge of the screen? It s just wasted space.
-Performance/Bugs/Servers I do understand this is an open beta, but this game is 2 months away from launch. You can imagine that not much can be done even by a big team in that timespace. We ll leave aside the fried cards. The game's performance is bad, with frequent stutters (as in fps drops) and freezes and crashes. This isn t hardware related I think, as I ve tested different settings, different computers with different above recommended specs. This problem also persists on the PS4 identically. This occurs more often when you cross zones. On top of these, there are the server issues which will likely persists at launch as all blizzard releases. The rubberbanding and invisible walls are also terrible additions. The fact that the game is online only even while playing alone..doesn t help.
-MMO Features: It seems that D4 tried to be Lost Ark and failed. Badly. Having played both, D4 gives you the feeling of a primitive Lost Ark. Of course, you can t play alone and are forced to see many players around you in towns, so that you see their interesting shop bought cosmetics so you want to buy em too. This was probably planned way before development started. It s annoying to see this many players especially in towns. It s just a visual clutterfest of annoyance. Add in the performance issues and you ve got yourself an active player wish to avoid especially big towns or towns in general. They took from wow few of the most annoying mmo features: scheduled gameplay and daily quests. It s a psychological tool to force you to log in every day or set time, so that their engagement metrics are high and investors think everything is great. The world boss is a terrible system. You need to play EVERY week, or you ll miss out on the free rewards. Why are they free? Because like in WoW you can just go there, land a hit onto the boss, die, wait or die again and others will kill the boss and voila, you get the same loot as them. No effort, no skill or brain activity needed, just _ your pressence at that fixed time every week_. Just your sole existence. The EMOTE WHEEL is an uncessary and idiotic feature I cannot comprehend. I guess it has it s advantages for consoles. But going to a statue and dancing or clapping your hands for quest rewards or buffs isn t really a gameplay which should exist in an arpg. Maybe in SIMS.
OTHER SYSTEMS: Gambling, Potion Upgrade, Item Upgrade. This is your usual well known basic stuff. Nothing special. I have to admit the Potion system with craftable extra potion is a step up from D3.
DUNGEONS: Dungeons are very repetitive and seem to be made from few very often repeating tiles which you can notice right away. They look nice and have lot s of details in those specific tiles though. There aren t many mobs and often you have some generic, often repeating events. Dungeons aren t unique, they are more like some pre-generated rifts which require a lot of backtracking. Monsters aren t the objective, they are just the barrier before the objective which is press this switch or that lever. Monsters aren t difficult either and there aren t specific dungeon mechanics or traps or whatever to fill up the empty void of long nothing the dungeons are. Honestly, they feel worse than D3 rifts and I did those thousands of times. Here I could barely do each one once.
The game feels often pointless, as you are wandering big pretty and empty zones, barely seeing mobs, or some insignificant forgettable ones. To what good is a big open world if it is empty. Never had that feeling in D3, each zone had a specific story role, purpose, event, mob type and wasn t too big. I can remember them all by names. Here I can remember the main town and another one because it has a blacksmith. Otherwise just ai generated name zones which have nothing to do or to offer besides being just filler.
I didn t want to pre-order and this beta convinced me that I shouldn t even buy the game at launch. It is doubtful that the technical issues will be fixed in such a short time. Not to mention the rather repetitive and empty open world and the bare-bones arpg feature. The game skeleton is there but that s it mostly. Maybe he also has a hood. Or maybe not. Sure if the game did not cost 70$ and would ve been marketed as early access yeah. But with other competitors it s just not worth it in my opinion. PoE is free, PoE 2 will be free, Last Epoch is far cheaper and so on. The only thing this game currently has over the others is the Diablo franchise name and some tied in nostalgia with npc and item names. Just like the initial runewords plan for D4. They were adding something which used the name but had nothing to do with the original feature. This is how Diablo 4 feels to me overall. Sure, the bigger budget shows in many aspects compared to the other listed aRPGs. But damn it, even Wolcen at its disastrous launch had more innovative elements and less game breaking bugs and technical issues. At least you could avoid the server issues playing offline.
If anyone disagress with stuff here just bring an argument for a discussion don t just call me whatever. What I say here could be wrong but it s just how I see the game currently. Maybe devs read feedback and try to do something. I do want this game to get good and to play it for a long time. Not one gazillion years like d2 or half gazillion years like D3, but something longer than few weeks. It seems to me that the art and music devs had a lot of creative freedom. I don t think the systems devs had so much creative freedom, hence we get this basic rpg with no innovative features at all. This could ve easily been D3 - remake. I am sure that the devs with more creative freedom, would ve done interesting and innovative aRPGs like the competitiors.
I ll keep checking on the game. Maybe after half a year a lot of the stuff gets fixed or corrected or re-made. Maybe it will be bundled with a game-fixing expansion, who knows.

2023.03.26 14:14 aastle Copyright question: Is CC Attribution enough license to include a model in Creative 2.0?

With sketchfab.com becoming fab most models have a CC Attribution license. Is that license permissive enough for Creative 2.0 maps? How to give credit to the creator of the model in the map?
Here is an example model on sketchfab.com scroll down for the license.

2023.03.26 14:14 ActionDespiteFear Another fail at the gym yesterday, tried to just friendly chat up a group of girls

Sometimes I wonder if I should keep trying, as I was saying in my previous posts. I have tried to self improve in many ways - both my body and mind and over the past year I have made many if not friends, male acquaintances.
Yesterday at the gym i decided to talk up a few girls with the sole intention of social practice and making female acquaintances. Since I have had a bit of success with male friends, I decided to just do the same with them which is scarier. My intentions were nothing but friendly, not trying to "hit on", "pick up" or anything like that. I tried cracking up a joke at my expense, got a weird look.
There was this weight that I had to use and I went to ask them if they are done with it and if I can use it, they barely gave me half an answer but it was a "yes ig", in the end I did take the weight for a quick set in front of them, so they can use it right after me. After that I went to do another set with the most positive energy I could find in myself and I said "wow i'm embarrassed, you're lifting with more weight than me" to which they awkwardly looked at me and didn't say a word. That was it. I decided not to be a 'creep' for looking ugly and never said anything else.
Before you start assumming, I'm dressed well, I don't smell, I put enough deodorant, perfume (but not too much to stink up the whole gym). I have new washed clothes. I have received compliments about my haircut and fitness clothes from GUYS. I approach with "confidence" (even though each next time the confidence drops) and a little smirk, however my smile is apparantly awful, if i don't smirk/smile i have a resting bitch face which is worse. I cannot win. I'm starting to lose hope that I will ever be accepted.
Not to mention, I've heard a hot guy say the same line (joke) to other women (that I said) and they died of fake laughter.
I recently thought of the approach "alpha" guys do in movies, I try to put myself in their shoes and laugh how much creepy it would be if I COPY exactly 1:1 their behaviour and lines with my face.
For example check out this movie "Crazy Stupid Love" - Ryan Gosling going there and talking to 2 random women in a bar who have a girls night, then he PICKS UP a chair and sits with them after the woman tells him she's not interested. Ofc it's a movie, not a real situation, but even if we take real situations with hot guys and we copy 1:1 they will say "well you approached creepy" that's why it didn't work.

2023.03.26 14:13 oasdijhfaios 4k60 no crop for less than 2k€ used

Hey, I am looking for a camera with some pretty specific specs and was wondering if I am overseeing any contenders. I am buying used and I have some time on my hand to wait for a good deal and with the new models (for example canon r6 mk2) I can also imagine to wait for some months for the used prices to come down a bit.
Wanted Specs: - 4k60 no crop (at least 20 min until it overheats, for B-Roll) - 4k24 no time limit (controlled talking head shots) - 1080p with at least 120fps, but more would be appreciated - full frame sensor - LOG with good skintones and in general easy grading - good video autofocus - acceptable ibis, better is of course appreciated - used body price below 2k€ - plus points for good photos
the contenders I have spotted so far: - canon r6 mk2 (currently reselling for 2.3k, but this will come down with time i hope) - lumix s5ii (4k60 only with apsc crop, worse af compared to canon and I'm unsure about the colors) - fuji xh2 (sadly not full frame) - sony a7 iv (4k60 crop)
Am I missing out on some bodies? Help is much appreciated :)

2023.03.26 14:13 Acrobatic-Bath-7461 Can anxiety make you wet the bed?

A little background story I am a 27 year old guy. I think I have Anxiety because the doc once said that he thinks I have Hypochondria. I think i developed that since one of my closest friends got diagnosed with leukemia 2 years back.
Since that time I became ultra aware of my body and developed some serious stress/anxiety issues like flight response and the burning skin symptom. In that period (august last year) I once wet the bed, I woke up dredged in urine, saw the doc and he did not seem very concerned. After this my anxiety symptoms went away and it did not happen anymore.
Since the last 2 weeks after some stresssful periods at work my symptoms came back again. For example body aches, flight response, right muscles and waking up several times at night.
Mostly in weekends I always sleep fine. This morning I woke up way later than normal for some reason, I slept really deep I guess. I noticed a yellow stain on my matress that kinda smelled like urine, also my underwear smelled like it. But my underwear and matress/blanket were dry when I woke up..
Did I wet the bed again? Because last time i felt it instantly when I woke up because everything was wet. Or did I just lose a bit of urine?
Can this be stress/anxiety related? I also have ADHD, if that matters.
