2023.03.30 07:18 Exact_Series_8640 Tonight I was feeding my adult leopard gecko a horn worm when I noticed something strange.
I’ve fed her worms of this size before and never had an issue. She started puffing her chin/neck out and opening her mouth while sticking her tongue out. I quickly googled the signs of leopard gecko choking and my fear was confirmed she was indeed choking.
I got her in a claw grip like I’ve seen my exotic vet use before to examine her and used a plastic gift card to force her mouth open. Once I got her mouth open she flailed her head and the work came right out….still alive… after she got the worm blockage out she continued acting perfectly normal like nothing had ever happened but I’ll be keeping a close eye on her for the next couple days.
I just want to bring awareness to anyone who didn’t know that they could choke on their food. Or who wouldn’t know what to do if it happened. For any pet you should always know the basic choking procedures. You never know when you may need to use it and it saved lives.

After the earthquakes in Turkey last month, I decided to do some research on earthquake risk in NYC. The risk of a serious earthquake is higher than I thought. According to this New York 1 article, researchers believe that New York is susceptible to a magnitude 5 earthquake once every 100 years, a magnitude 6 around every 670 years, and a magnitude 7 every 3,400 years.

I’m talking like atmospheric shots. We only have photos of entire planets from a distance. By close up I mean like you’re orbiting the planet in a space ship and took a photo with a camera or your phone, something that looks like you’re there and not a distant telescope or photo from a satellite flying by at a far distance.
What is stopping NASA from basically strapping a GoPro or high end DSLR to a satellite for a fly by of a planet and get some really close atmospheric shots like the ones we have of Earth?

Previous playthrough was a male Streetkid who knew his way around, asked questions to get all the info before he did shit, always killed to leave no loose ends, and was generally a stand-up guy who ended up >! falling in love with Panam and running away with her after joining the Aldecaldos to Arizona to find a cure to his 6 month immune disorder thingy with StormTech. !< He was also sober and kept his wits about him because of it, only rarely drinking to honor the fallen.
For my new playthrough, I have a female Corpo with face barcode tattoo and eye socket cyberware (visual). So far, I've decided she's going to be verbally assertive and commanding (taking back control of her life), super anti-Corp, mistrustful, enjoys booze, and someone who chooses to talk things out before resorting to violence. Someone who plays their cards close to their chest and will miss an opportunity in order to avoid appearing desparate. I want to play someone who is assertive and takes control, but not a total asshole. I also want to 100% Johnny for this playthrough so that might conflict.
I have a couple questions I still want to address. I know I want this to be a netrunner, but I also think snipers and handguns are cool, and I've thought about trying out monowire or projectile cannon. I've also considered making a crafting-centric character. Which of these should I pursue, and how should I balance that? I specced 2 points into Intelligence, Reflexes, and Tech, and 1 into Cool.
She does her absolute best to avoid direct combat, so she does use stealth. Difficulty is also on Very Hard so this is kind of necessary, ateast for now. But a big question I have is to kill or not to kill? I considered having her be killing-averse, but her actions in the Jackie montage show that to be false. I don't want her to be a murdered and kill everyone, but I don't know if she should kill or spare people like corpo workers.
I think this iteration of V should be more of the type to follow orders, but how do I reconcile a V that knows when to shut up with a V who is also informed and doesn't miss out on all the dialogue?
That's all I can think of for right now. I'd apprecizte any suggested answers to my questions, or just general advice on my roleplaying situation right now and how I can flesh out my V more. Thanks!

I was tired, but was doing everything I could to ensure that our lives would be comfortable. He was unemployed and not doing anything else with his life at the time. He had no goals, but I still loved him and didn’t care. He is my first love, so it makes it that much more difficult for me.
He cheated while I was away and busy. This makes it more difficult for me because I am always going to busy for the next decade of my life.
We were aiming to get married after I graduated. I sacrificed EVERYTHING—MOST OF MY YOUTH—for this man.
I feel like an idiot. I feel like my life is a joke. Worked so hard and thought I could have a happy, cozy life with him. But that was snatched out of my hands like everything else too. He threw me away like trash when I was trying so hard for us.
Yet, HE has the nerve to get jealous over my male acquaintances (they are all very successful). Honestly, I get that he can be insecure or feel threatened by them. He always was, but even more so now after Dday.
I am still angry. I still think about it. I still bring it up, but he’s completely apathetic now. He has the nerve to tell me to move on.
What makes it worse is that my older brother died in 2018. My bf met the AP on the anniversary of my brother’s death. I remember crying and trying to seek out support from my bf. Turns out, this idiot was chatting with the AP on Snapchat the whole time.
I know it’s awful, but I’m just tempted to cheat back. I don’t even want to try and hide it either. I just want him to feel the same pain that I do. Just so I can tell him that I don’t care about his feelings.
I feel evil just for feeling this way.
I still love him, but I just feel sadness when I look at him. I know it’s not healthy, but I don’t think I could love anyone else.

I'm a 28 (f) and my bf is 34 (m). My bf and I have been together for a year now. After carefully dating one another and meeting my family he asked to become official. I was clear and transparent with him from the day we met. I told him i want marriage and kids in the future. Few months into the relationship when the topic of marriage and kids came up he told me he did not believe in marriage and didn’t want the government involve. I let it slide because I knew he was dealing with some legal issues at the time. As I was dealing with some school stressors, I told him we can resume the conversation another time. For our 6 months we went on our first couple trip. One year later since becoming officially he told me he can’t have kids. This came to me as a shock because throughout the relationship he told he had a low sperm count issue. I feel betrayed and misled. Because he also made me believe he wants the same thing. WHY WAIT ONE YEAR? WHY STRING ME ALONG, knowing we don’t share the same ideas? Marriage and kids has always been my non-negotiable and he technically knew. He doesn’t want to reverse his vasectomy and would rather adopt or not have any kids at all. He’s a good partner and good to me. I don’t think I can cope with the prospect of not having children. Marriage and kids of my own with my husband has been something I’ve always want. A part of me feels betrayed once again by someone that I love and want to build a future with. I don’t think that I can learn to live with something that makes me unhappy. I feel like my dreams of having children with the person I love have been shattered. After approximately 8 whole hours of continued inactivity from the subject in regards to the “Feed”, Doctor Ka had the "Feed" removed from the cell. The "Feed's" blood covered the front of the Subject from its attempts to heal, and the subject itself was described as "rabid-looking" and "bloodthirsty."

“Feed” Age: Young Adolescent
Notes: “Feed” was once again retrieved by the Assistants, as the pirates continued to refuse to cooperate. After sufficient threats, however, the pirates reluctantly agreed to aid the Assistants in finding a suitable location to collect the “Feed” and in bringing the “Feed” back to the Reaver. “Feed” had sustained heavy injuries. Doctor Ka hypothesized that a smaller specimen would be easier for the Subject to kill and consume.
Feeding Process: “Feed” is placed into the cell and Subject once again undergoes visible distress, albeit a less strong reaction than last time. “Feed” has been injured in such a way that they are unable to move, allowing the Subject to approach. Lemme explain--Not that I probably need to because I'm sure most drivers are keen to the concept already. So it's basic psychology: complete a task, gain a reward. The reward this time, is money...or lack thereof this last week. In an addict's mind, you'll do whatever you need to to get your fix. In Dashing terms, I, you, they, will literally sit in a fucking shady parking lot waiting for that damn notification to go off. And just like that, a little hit of dopamine. Crank the stereo up, throw her in drive, and the sky is blue again.
Fuck that. This is a highly toxic lifestyle. I'm between jobs currently but tonight I felt that decade-passed former self start to creep in. Not wanting to get high obviously, but doing things I typically wouldn't do, to feel better about the present situation.
Tldr: I have way TOO much in common with the pill pharmers hanging out in the Dairy Queen parking lot than I ever want for myself. Most of us deserve better. I'm gonna call it after this week. Shit's low-key addictive.
