Trying to keep the curve aggressive but have options to play a longer game using pyre of heroes and extraction specialist to rebuild my board in grindy match ups was my reasoning behind maindeck choices. Does anyone live abroad and have an e-commerce business based in the United States? How does this work for you? Do you just have an employee who does all the packaging for you?

Moving to Sweden is a long-term goal for me. I’m not expecting to actually get over there for quite some time—I’m talking 8+ years and honestly, that’s kind of scary. I’m already 30, so if I succeed in following my plan of preparation to get my degree and language-learning goals, I’ll be pushing 40 by the time I get out there.
I’m a bit concerned about it. Immigration feels like a young person’s game, if that makes sense. I’m worried about the challenges that might come with it, like being less valuable talent due to being older and totally changing my life path at a time when others are racking up work experience. This subreddit will be joining in on the June 12th-14th protest of Reddit's API changes that will essentially kill all 3rd party Reddit apps.

What's going on?

A recent Reddit policy change threatens to kill many beloved third-party mobile apps, making a great many quality-of-life features not seen in the official mobile app permanently inaccessible to users.
On May 31, 2023, Reddit announced they were raising the price to make calls to their API from being free to a level that will kill every third party app on Reddit, from Apollo to Reddit is Fun to Narwhal to BaconReader.
Even if you're not a mobile user and don't use any of those apps, this is a step toward killing other ways of customizing Reddit, such as Reddit Enhancement Suite or the use of the old.reddit.com desktop interface .
This isn't only a problem on the user level: many subreddit moderators depend on tools only available outside the official app to keep their communities on-topic and spam-free.

What's the plan?

On June 12th, many subreddits will be going dark to protest this policy. Some will return after 48 hours: others will go away permanently unless the issue is adequately addressed, since many moderators aren't able to put in the work they do with the poor tools available through the official app. This isn't something any of us do lightly: we do what we do because we love Reddit, and we truly believe this change will make it impossible to keep doing what we love.
The two-day blackout isn't the goal, and it isn't the end. Should things reach the 14th with no sign of Reddit choosing to fix what they've broken, we'll use the community and buzz we've built between then and now as a tool for further action.

What can you do as a user?

Just posting this here to help everyone since Koodo has a bunch of monkeys working there who don't have a clue about anything. I'll get straight to the point. I live in Toronto so cell towers are not an issue.
I've been with Koodo for over 5 years. 1 year ago I got a new plan and new phone (20gb monthly + google pixel 6 pro) and that's when hell started. On data I was hitting 1 (ONE) MBit/sec, apps constantly telling me I'm not connected to the internet (TD Easyweb App, Pizza Apps, Google Maps, everything, just terrible!) WiFi works perfectly.

I've read all over (hours and hours) that many many people have this problem.

• - Sim cards are not the issue.
• - Phones are not the issue.
• - Apps are not the issue.
• - KOODO / TELUS Network IS the issue.

After hours on the phone with reps I finally convinced (yes I had to CONVINCE because it's so hardddd for them to do this?!?!) that THEY RESET the network for me on THEIR end. This means on THEIR end, not my phone settings. So get the rep to call you, tell them you've tried all the stuff, everything failed blablabla - "forward me to the tech rep please".

1. Once you get to them, again tell them everything failed blablabla, then tell them to reset the network tower connection to your phone from their end. Then you reset your phone (you will be disconnected, but tell them to call you back, doesn't really matter anymore because once they reset it, it will work).
2. You will lose bluetooth memories and wifi passwords in this part - so if you want, try and skip this to avoid any of that, maybe it will work for you in the end. Move on to step 3. Go to your phone RESET settings, and reset your network. Again, restart the phone.
3. After resetting your phone, go to network settings for your DATA settings (not wifi), and select preferred network: LTE, then reset phone again. (Phone is set to search for 5G which TELUS does not have - thanks to another thread here I had to dig for this 👍 🙏)
4. Wait up to an hour, your data should be working smoothly and all apps working fine finally again with data.

I've noticed the ping is still crap (30ms) but it used to be 30-60. Now I'm getting 200MBit speeds at least.

I was talking to some friends the other day and realized that my perspective on life is very different than all if theirs. I didn't expect everyone to think like me but for none of them to was a surprise. Plus, there was a hugr amount of shock on their faces when I told them I have never imagined being 70, 80, or 90 something.
When I was a child I thought that if I lived to be 30 something that was old enough. In my 20s I thought that 40 was plenty. Now that I'm 42, I can't imagine being older than my mid 50s. In fact, if I live more than another 10-15 years, I'll be incredibly surprised. And probably incredibly disappointed too.
Please tell me I'm not the only person that doesn't plan to live forever. Tell me there are other people that have never imagined that they would live to be significanly older than 50. Tell me there are other people out there that would be happy to have life end long before their body falls apart completely.

Camping World corporate has made me an offer to settle. Their initial offer is a 1000 dollar gift card with a W9 and a release that if signed would have prevented me from talking about my experience. I rejected that offer and told them I plan on filing a suit in small claims. They responded and said they would remove the non disparagement and confidentiality clauses. According to the BBB Camping World has a pattern of deceptive business practices. They actually have a warning on their website stating that. A fact I was not aware of when searching for an RV. But, now that I am aware of their patterns, why the hell would I choose to participate in that bullshit?
I have immersed myself in learning about the consumer protection laws in Massachusetts. Turns out the law is heavily in my favor, and Massachusetts has a great step by step outlining how to use those consumer protections. So I am going to embark on a small claims journey. This will mark a first for me and I will write about it here. The first step is a 30 day demand letter. This is letter summarizing my issues, and the solutions I require. It puts them on a clock to respond.
Rather than endless emails, unreturned calls, and unneeded frustration on my end, the law allows me to transfer that stress to them. On July 1st, Reddit plans to change their API pricing structure to a model that will directly affect app developers, moderators, and third-party app users, among others.

How This Affects Us

The moderators of /MillionaireMakers use third-party apps to perform their moderation duties best on Reddit. Apollo in particular has been used to post on different accounts, post and sticky relevant threads and comments, access mod mail to communicate with winners, and monitor user activity on the subreddit, some of the features personally paid for to both support the developer and be able to moderate more effectively. It’s also a good app to browse Reddit with, the functionality is intuitive and the design combines the best of Reddit and iOS’s design language.
Another aspect that this could affect us is that the introduction to API pricing can now mean being charged to run an Entry Thread. I say could as our API usage in contrast to a third-party app is minuscule, both in scale and in frequency (occasional Decembers not withstanding). However, this is still a serious concern as currently the only financial costs of maintaining the subreddit have been in renewing the website running the mailing list.

How This Affects You

For you, if you use a third-party app like Apollo, Reddit Is Fun, and Sync, then the main way you use Reddit is going to be changed. You must use the official app to explore the platform, of which there could be features lacking in the official version and the potential for trackers. This also puts into risk other features that you may use, such as navigating on old.reddit.com to access the platform.
In addition, your moderators will not be able to moderate. People that rely on third-party apps to access Reddit and perform their moderation duties will find it much more cumbersome or even impossible, as there will undoubtedly be times where there is no easy access to a computer. You will see more spam and irrelevant content without the help of moderators.

What Are We Doing

First of all: We will not be putting our subreddit on private, nor will we cancel the Entry Thread!
We believe that setting this subreddit to private will be either ineffective or, more consequently, detrimental to what the subreddit stands for, and cancelling the Entry Thread, even moreso. Threads here are already limited as it is, with the only posts being from the mod team and from the winners. Additionally, a shutdown will prevent easy access to winner’s donation information.
However, we want to bring as much awareness to the issue as possible! We introduced the API changes when they were first announced as something we’d pay close attention to, we are currently making this Announcement thread expressing our solidarity with other subreddits, and we will once again highlight the issue come this month’s Entry Thread, which will take place as scheduled on June 16 at 23:00 UTC. The most unfortunate case scenario is for this issue to evolve into the new normal, and we want to do everything in our power to prevent that.

What Can You Do

If you’re a user, there are many things you can already do, such as spreading the word on a different platform or contacting the admins expressing your concerns. However, I would also like to encourage the idea of joining a new platform, even if at the moment there are not as many users as you’d expect there to be. After all, if you are the product, then it’d be a shame if there was no more product to go around. I’d recommend taking a look at Lemmy and Tildes. Note on Lemmy though, as you create your profile, use a less popular Lemmy instance such as sopuli.xyz or lemmy.one as the main instance is already sharing they’re experiencing server overload from the influx of people joining. Tildes also has a decently active subreddit as well over on /Tildes that you can access.
If you work in Reddit, please emphasize to the people around you how detrimental this can be for the health of the users and for the future of the platform. Reddit is not like Twitter, many users here actively participate in and read discussion, others volunteer their own free time out of passion for a community, and if an idea is popular, the community can band together to do incredible things. It is very possible for the people key to moderating on this platform to migrate away, thus introducing a host of problems that you all may not have even considered, and it may not be worth the risk of changing from the status quo into a structure that could have ramifications for communities on here.

Probably not gonna happen for awhile but I wanna do more preparation. What do you guys do or plan to do with your budgie's body when they pass away? Burying isn't really an option for me, we don't own any land, as in we don't have a backyard or what not. Landed property isn't the norm here and is extremely expensive. People are either really rich or inherited it.
I mighttt get away with burying because budgies are small and there are actually people who bury their hamsters in non-private land but it's just kinda odd and not part of our culture + what if i move, I don't want my budgie's body to just be left there.
Is there something like cremation? I have no idea where to get that done + not even sure I can afford it when the time comes.
