Hello everyone, first time posting in this sub.
TLDR: Moved in with boyfriend who has a filthy apartment. Our standards are vastly different and it’s causing lots of tension.
I (33f) just relocated to Spain from the US to live with my partner (36m). We had met one year ago when I was on a trip in Spain and continued to chat and develop our long-distance relationship over the months. Finally, he offered to help me arrange my papers and we decided I would move in with him in Spain and apply for residency together. I feel committed to this relationship because I am beholden to him for immigration reasons but also because I love him and think we are very compatible and this will be a fun adventure. He’s a wonderful compassionate person and very doting.
However, there have been major stresses as we merge two households into one small apartment that served as his bachelor pad for the last five years. The place is filthy! Tons of black mold in the bathroom, sewage smell, odor from cat litter boxes as well as litter kicked all over the ground by the kitten who is still learning to conduct herself. The house is filled with cat hairs and dander and dust, which really aggravates my cat allergies that boyfriend knew about already. My bf was previously accustomed to smoking indoors, which left yellow smoke stains on the walls and on furniture. The towels reek of mildew, and the bed is horrible. The mattress and the frame are both super low quality (many apartments here come furnished so the landlord has no incentive to provide anything high-quality) and boyfriend has been sleeping on a back-destroyer without noticing presumably for years.
The decoré is horrendous. Imagine a frat house in terms of design sense. There’s a large framed photo of himself as a baby mounted on the wall right as you enter the house, next to a framed photo of a soccer player and another photo of a Spanish rapper. I’m like…. You understand this is insane right? Who has a framed photo of themself as a baby in their home? That’s so embarrassing. The rugs, pillows, everything is covered in dander and stained from cigarettes to the point that they all have to be replaced.
I found out that his mom has come over and done a deep clean on his apartment when he was out of town in February. She was so shocked by the state of his apartment when she came to feed his cats that she took matters into her own hands. My bf got defensive and apparently didn’t internalize any shame about his unacceptable apartment hygiene after that.
Well it has been about a month now that I am working on finding solutions to the mold, to the odors, the litter boxes, the smoke stains and so on. For me, a clean home is a HIGH priority. Because of my cat allergies I need his commitment to sweeping daily and keeping this place dander and dust-free. I’m making trips to the store daily to get more organization tools that this place needs to help us manage to fit two peoples’ stuff into one apartment. My boyfriend has been very helpful in addressing the mold by cleaning every weekend with special products to address the mold. He has stopped smoking indoors. He comes home and sweeps and takes care of the litter almost every day after work.
However, it’s clear that he resents the tasks that he has to do now. He resents being robbed of his filthy bachelor pad. But I told him, I absolutely am not a young bachelor and will not live like one. If you want a live-in girlfriend, you have to raise your standards because no woman finds this attractive or wants to live like this. In fact, it has made me really question what type of person can live in filth and what type of GROWN man lets their mother come over and deep clean. I would be so embarrassed.
As you can imagine, this has caused a LOT of stress in the beginnings of our new relationship. I really wish he had organized and cleaned the apartment before I arrived, but now I have spent all my time in the last month organizing his shit and trying to deal with the five years of filth he has allowed to accumulate here.
I don’t think I have ever been cruel to him but I have been direct that this situation is unacceptable and every day there’s more work to do to get this space into a tenable state. As time goes on, he is becoming more and more irritated that the house still isn’t “finished”. He comes home from work already in a grumpy mood and does the basic cleaning that is required and lends me a hand with whatever organization task needs to be done. But he clearly resents me for it.
Yesterday as he was sweeping the bedroom, he was slamming doors and making a bunch of noise which is very triggering for me. He came home and wanted to talk but I was too tired to have a conversation. He then started threatening to break up with me and move out.
What am I supposed to do in this situation? This grown ass man has invited me to live with him but it’s taking a serious amount of labor to make the apartment livable and our relationship is not on good terms now as a result.
I am exhausted because I require a place for my things (I still haven’t been able to fully unpack because of the mountains of clutter taking up valuable space in this apartment) and I require an adequate bed (that’s another long story unfortunately). He’s exhausted because he’s no longer able to live with the same low standards as before. He works full time and has a band and instead of being able to come home and unwind, he feels pressure to sweep in his only downtime instead of kick his feet up for a few minutes.
After the threats he made yesterday, I don’t know where to go from here. Does it come down to me vs the filth? How do we work this out?

Hi all! This (super long) post is on the behalf of a couple friends living in Utah that are worried about a landlord who is asking to do a walkthrough of their former apartment, 6 months after they moved out.
During their time at this complex, there were numerous maintenance issues. For example: a sprinkler outside of one of their windows was broken, causing it to spray directly at the window, which also wasn’t sealed properly, which leaked into the living room. Landlord was informed, they didn’t fix the sprinkler OR the window but did acknowledge the complaint and asked them to stuff a towel into the window ledge, lol. Water was leaking through the ceiling from the unit upstairs into the bathroom, which caused a mold problem as well as the ceiling bubbling and chunks of it falling out. Landlord was informed of this issue as well, and I believe that they PARTIALLY remedied the issue, but the ceiling was still damaged at the end of it all, with the landlords just sort of pushing off that repair for an unknown later date (it wasn’t ever fixed, lol). There was a lot of other stuff I won’t bother to list since these two examples are the more worrisome ones, all of which the landlord or property manager were informed of and were either not repaired (but acknowledged!) or semi repaired in true landlord half assed fashion. After some complaints about the upstairs neighbors, (not something that the landlords were at fault for, just some serious noise and smell/neglect issues with pets and whatnot…this complex was a mess in so many regards) as well as all of the maintenance problems, the landlords had my friends sign a DIFFERENT lease and move into the unit across the hall to remedy both the complaints about the upstairs tenants, as well as get my buddies into a livable place and allow them to do repairs on an empty unit instead of an occupied one. New unit was fine, the building was old and rent was cheap so no one was gonna complain about general wear and tear as long as they could live a mold and leak free life.
So, my friends eventually find a killer deal on a cute little house that they decide to buy. The lease on the apartment was going to end in February, but everything with the house got finalized in January, so the landlord agreed to just end their lease a month early as a sort of apology for all the problems they’d had in their original unit. Landlord didn’t ask to do a move out inspection (or AGREE to do one at my friend’s request), and despite many contacts via texts and calls from my friends to the landlord and property manager, the deposit wasn’t ever returned, and they were never able to return their keys. My friends have a strong aversion to confrontation, didn’t want to continue pestering them, and were just tired of dealing with all the runaround, and I guess just never pursued the deposit or key thing very hard. This, of course, sucks, because now due to their lack of pursuance on the issue, they’re dealing with this latest problem.
The last (unanswered) communication was in February, it is now June, and they just got a text from the property manager asking for the keys to the apartment and to do an inspection, 6 months after their move out and termination of the lease. The unit has been vacant for these full 6 months, and my friends are very concerned that while it’s been empty some damage might have occurred that no one has been able to properly report, since it’s been empty for so long. The apartment had normal wear and tear upon move-out and was more than adequately deep cleaned, but based on their experiences with the last unit and with this complex in general, they’re worried.
So! What can they do in this situation? Do they have any rights that might allow them to get their deposit back? With no evidence of the condition of the apartment upon their move out 6 months ago, can they be charged for any potential random damage (my fear is something like the bathroom leak thing from the first unit) that might have occurred while the unit has been sitting empty?
Sorry for my extremely long post! I know, and they know, that they should have done more about the deposit and final inspection back when they first moved out, but what’s done is unfortunately done, and hindsight is 20/20. Thanks in advance, and any advice or help is sincerely appreciated.

Just something random I thought about years ago and decided to finally ask staff. You buy a film, find it's corrupt so can't complete it. You return it to the store, buyer gets credit etc end of story. What happens after to the disc?
Wasn't sure if its just thrown in the bin, an attempt to clean/resell even with no visible damage or if the original person who traded it in gets some kind of penalty.

So im in the market to upgrade my amp, from a boss katana 50 mk2. I plan on playing live with a keyboard, bass, drums, and singer. I want to buy a tube amp and the one i've found that I like a lot is the Marshall Origin 50 combo. The only con for me with it is that it has only one channel. In several of the songs im playing with this band i'll need to go from super clean, no dirt at all, to overdriven and even crazy distorted tones in a matter of seconds leaving me no time to fiddle with a volume knob. I was browsing a forum earlier and they said that it'd be pointless to buy a tube amp if you planned on using a distortion pedal into the clean amp. Is that true? and if so what 2 channel tube amps are there in the same price range of an origin 50w (second hand so <650)?

The Old Ways can rub some people wrong — especially those coming into the supernatural world fresh from this modern era of excess, privilege, and internet anonymity. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve seen societal changes and cultural shifts in every direction you could plot an axis for; live for nearly 3500 years as I have, and you too will come to understand that Change is the one and only constant in this world. But what our more, shall I say, exuberant (indignant, entitled, take your pick) newcomers tend to misunderstand is that Old Ways — and those of us who uphold them — don’t stand in opposition to change; we’ve just already seen all their ‘new’ ideas brought forward before, been accepted, gone stale, and get discarded for the next.
The Old Ways aren’t rules, they’re just how you come to behave once you’ve lived through a few revolutions of the cycle. They’re also not written or codified in any way, but if I had to articulate the particular tenet that seems most abhorrent to our most recent newcomers, it would be this: Respect is owed to your elders, because they’ve already damn-well earned it in the past.
The recent upheaval in the supernatural underworld wasn’t particularly upsetting, or even that surprising: some newly-minted vamp shaking things up, gathering a following, killing off a few of the established vampire lords. I don’t overlap much with the neck-biter scene, so it wasn’t very concerning to me. But as ill-luck would have it, he kept growing more famous, and thus harder to avoid hearing about.
He was turned fairly late for a vampire, in his 40s, having already led a deeply troubling life steeped in conspiracy theory, hoax, and rabbit holes into the occult. So rather than take the traditional path toward amassing strength for a vamp — which is basically just to feed regularly and get older — he instead continued his dive into the occult. To his credit, this did score him the power he needed to oppose (and depose) many of the vampire lords of London; to his detriment, it also placed him rather firmly on a collision course with me.
I’d put a handful of wards and contingencies in place out of habit, but I wasn’t particularly concerned. Vampires are about as dangerous to me as… eh… now that I think of it, I don’t have a great analogy on hand for this. There isn’t much that’s truly all that dangerous to me at all, anymore — about as dangerous as a mosquito, I guess? In that I’d be annoyed if one bit me?
Still, he did manage to surprise me, if only because I never thought he’d be stupid enough to come for me there, in the Tavern. But like I said: in this storied community, the impetuous youth flaunt or ignore the Old Ways at their own peril. And it had started as such a nice, quiet night, with me seated at my usual booth in its dimly lit, secluded corner of the restaurant.
“Here you are, darling, you just let me know if you need anything else, okay?”
The head server of the Tavern is a lovely woman, seemingly 30 to 40 years of age, who despite the many years she’s spent in England, still speaks with an accent from the American south. Her ethnic heritage is clearly from a region further south-west in Africa than my own.
“Of course, thank you Catherine,” I replied as she placed an impeccably plated salad on the table before me. It was one of my favorites at the Tavern, a delightful little number with tender bamboo shoots, and some kind of sweet and spicy mustard vinaigrette. Catherine smiled and whisked off toward another table. I folded a piece of baby spinach over an arugula leaf and pinned them to a bamboo shoot with my fork, and had just lifted them to my lips when the doors to the Tavern slammed open into the walls of the entryway. The small, decorative windows in the doors shattered on impact, showering the hostess’ podium with shards of glass.
Most groups of vampires want to be called ‘covens.’ Some of the weirder, extra culty groups prefer the term ‘hive.’ Judging by the collection of washed out, middle-aged vampire bros who sauntered in through the broken doors, I can only assume this group called themselves something extra stupid, like ‘the posse.’
He was immediately evident. His four goons looked like your average jocks who’d had neither the skill to go pro, nor the sense to plan for anything else in life, and had spent their subsequent years in disappointment of themselves and others.
“Barkeep! A round of your finest libations for the entourage of…” the fucker actually paused, as though for dramatic effect, “the Dread Prince Lestat!”
An audible groan of disgust rose from a table of Lesser Devils in the next alcove down from mine. Abyssal-speech is difficult to decipher even when there isn’t a group of demons all talking over one another, but I did manage to make out from one of them, a trickster muse by the name of Mamenoche, just before he dissolved into a cloud of flies and dispersed. The remaining devils grumbled in disappointment, but still turned with eager smiles to watch the drama unfold.
The keeper of the tavern, for his part, simply raised an eyebrow while he wiped down a freshly washed stein with a drying rag. He nodded to an empty table. “Take a seat, we’ll be right with you,” he said, and then turned away to shelve the clean glass.
The keeper is a slight man, of average height, perhaps in his early to mid 50s. He wears the same costume every day: dark brown slacks and a burgundy tweed vest over a crisp white shirt with the sleeves rolled back to his elbows. His voice is rich and resonant, and though soft-spoken, he is never difficult to hear. Beyond that, I can only say that the tavern keeper looks exactly as you think he would, and do understand that I mean that literally. His features, his hair, the color of his skin: they all exist only in the eyes of the beholder. It’s part of the Glamour.
The four underlings slid chairs out from the table and plopped down with what some of my younger students have recently informed me is known as the ‘Riker maneuver.’ Lestat remained standing and circled the table while he addressed the patrons.
“Well, well, well. So this is the storied Tavern. Drinking hole for the Greats of the underworld, the movers and shakers, the true titans of the occult.” He smirked and paused for effect again. “At least now it is. Bit of a slow day before I got here, eh barkeep?”
The keeper responded with silence as he filled five elaborately crafted snifters from a small, gold-banded barrel behind the bar.
“No matter, we’ll liven things up here real soon. I’m looking for a woman — no, not you love, some other time maybe.” He gestured across the bar to a woman of simply indescribable beauty, whom he utterly failed to recognize as Titania. Lounging beside her, Oberon narrowed his eyes, but remained otherwise still.
It had been at least 150 years since the last time a patron had stepped out of line in the Tavern, and the mood of the crowd was positively electric with anticipation. The vampire, bless his shriveled little heart, clearly interpreted this as deference to his prowess.
“The woman I’m looking for is… Egyptian. An Empress. Her very name and image carved off the face of history by her own son. Probably on the masculine side, considering how she managed to pass herself off as a Pharaoh and usurp his reign for 20 years. Just a guess, but probably a 2 or 3 out of 10.”
“I’ve had kings put to death for far less impetuous horse shit than that, young man,” I said. How rude — I looked positively fabulous with a false goatee.
He turned to me with a broad smile and threw his arms wide open. “And here she is, The Empress Undying. The ‘last word’ in all things occult and arcane, so they tell me.” He approached, squinting into the gloom surrounding my dining table. “And wow, I take it all back, for a 3,000 year old mummy, you are surprisingly bang-able. You know I love a girl who plays hard to get, and let’s face it — erased from history, all that jazz — you were difficult to track down, Hatshepsut!”
“Really? I have a page on Wikipedia.”
“That’s not— I mean I prefer— that is, well, primary sources are—”
“Which, if you’d bothered reading, would have told you that Thutmose the Second was not my son, but my step son, and that at 2 years old he was not in the best position to rule when my husband passed. Not to mention it was actually his bratty son Amenhotep who ordered the whole defacing of my icons thing.” Which is also untrue. I ate my own name as part of my Ascension. But he doesn’t need to know the details of my life.
“Here’s your drinks boys,” Catherine said behind him with her typically cheerful demeanor as she set the tray of snifters down between Lestat’s posse. “Seeing as how it’s your first round at the Tavern, darlings, this one’s on the house.”
The vampires grabbed their drinks without so much as a thank you. Lestat wisely took the interruption as a reprieve from this sudden hiccup in whatever grand plan it was he had in mind for me, and retreated to the support of his minions. One of them sniffed at the drink suspiciously, while the others simply threw them back like shots and immediately grimaced. One got it down before sputtering and coughing uproariously, the other two spit it out back into their snifters.
“What is this shit?”
“That’s Ambrosia, darling,” Catherine said as she gently patted the coughing vamp on his back. “Nectar of the gods. It’s a bit of an acquired taste for sure, and most people do prefer to sip it. They say it’s ‘too much sensation’ for us lesser beings.”
“They don’t want Ambrosia, you wench,” Lestat howled, “they want blood!”
“Well I’m sorry darling, but we don’t serve blood here. You asked for a round of our ‘finest libations,’ and there’s no drink finer than Ambrosia in the Tavern, nor outside of it as I’ve ever heard. That barrel over there was handed off by Hermes himself.”
One of the vampires dashed his drink on the floor and pointed at Catherine.
“You’ve got blood, don’t you lass?”
“That will be enough.” The tavern keeper’s soft, mellifluous voice draped over the exchange like a weighted blanket. “I’ve served you drinks, and in return you have been exceedingly impolite to my establishment, my staff, and my patrons. Learn the meaning of deference before you visit next, for you will not be well-received without it. Now, leave.”
Lestat’s four hulking minions might have succumbed to the spell of the keeper’s voice had not their ring-leader, to his detriment, managed to shake out of it.
“Leave? No, we just got here,” he turned back to me, “and I’m not finished with her.”
“But I am finished with you,” I said.
“Ten,” the keeper said, leaning forward to rest his elbows on the bar.
“The only reason I haven’t ended your miserable existence thus far,” I continued, “is out of deference to my elders. It is not my right to take your life inside the walls of this Tavern. I suppose I’ll soon be forced to do it outside, but do understand, I’ll approach that no differently than I would stepping on a scarab.”
“Nine.”
“The truth of it is, 'Dread Prince,' that you are not worth the breath spent uttering your ridiculous name.”
“Not worth your time, am I? I’ll show you what your time is worth, you decrepit bitch!”
“Eight,” the tavern keeper said, and Lestat flung an outstretched claw in his direction while hissing out a spell in medieval Latin.
Generously translated, it came out to roughly As though caught on a hook, the keeper tumbled over his bar and forward through the air. Lestat caught him by the neck and wrenched sideways, spinning the keeper’s head fully around with a loud crunching sound. Then, with the inhuman speed inherent to vampires, he hoisted the keeper’s body over his head, darted across the Tavern, and slammed him down through a table surrounded by a flock of naiads.
He turned and caught Catherine in the hypnotic gaze his kind uses to trap their prey, and strolled leisurely back over to his group. I crossed my arms.
“Sorry ‘darling,’ but I like my meals a little toasty.”
He hissed in his awful Latin again, along the lines of Catherine convulsed and shrieked, unable to move while locked in his gaze. He yanked her head to the side and made a show of sinking his fangs into her neck with a ripping motion, splattering droplets of blood across the tavern that sizzled and steamed where they landed. Her lifeless body rolled under the table as he turned his bloody face back to me.
“How do you like me now?”
I pushed my untouched salad, now flecked with Catherine’s blood, away from me on the table and let out a deep sigh.
“First, your grasp of Latin is elementary at best, you really should have practiced more before coming to see me. No, now, this is the part where you listen.”
I pinched my forefinger to the thumb to seal the air inside his lungs. They may not like to acknowledge it, but this is a simple fact that every entity in this establishment is keenly aware of, save for you.”

“My patrons from the Fey realms, or the Abyss? They experience death on this plane of existence as a banishment back to their own. But once there, they age and die the same as all other creatures in existence, if perhaps at a different rate than a human does. My dear employee Catherine, whom you’ve treated with such brazen disrespect, will live as long as she wishes to. But some day, be it centuries or millennia from now, she will grow tired of life, and request I terminate her contract.”
He gestured to me, seated in my quiet, dark corner, and a chill ran down my spine.

Bungie is slowly preparing and curating the Sandbox in a way, where all 3 Classes have dystinct rolls and the recent changes to 2 specific Exotics (Mask of Bakris and PotbS) confirmed my suspicion for me.

Just to quickly summarize what I'm talking about in regards to buffs:
There's 3 distinct types of buffs in Destiny 2, which all have some slightly different rules attached to them, since this is important info in regard to my theory:

• Empowerment Buffs (e.g.: Radiant, Well, Lumina, Banner Shield,....)
• Surge Buffs (e.g.: Surge Mods, new PotbS, new Bakris, new Sanguine Alchemy,....)
• Intrinsic Amplifier buffs (e.g.: Lucky Pants, Mechaneer's Tricksleeves,....)

These buff types can all be active at once, yet 2 different buffs of the same type can never stack with one another and only the strongest one will apply:
So if you have a 25% Radiant buff & a 35% Lumina buff, only the 35% bonus dmg will apply, since Lumina provides the higher buff, yet you could still apply Surges on top, which would stack multiplicatively.

Just this Season they removed the only 2 Subclasselement based Amplifiers with Bakris & PotbS.
So which ones are left behind and what does it all mean?

• Lucky Pants (60% - 600% based on hits)
  
• Foetracer (1% - 30% based on enemy HP being at or below 30%)
  
• Mechaneer's Tricksleeves (100% when your own HP is critical & weapon swap)
  
• Oathkeepers (37.5% bonus per tier up to 150% - only for actual bow impact dmg)
  
• (new) Triton Vice (30% with same requirements to proc as Surrounded)
  

With the sole exception being Foetracer, all of these Exotic intrinsic Amplification buffs are now tied to weapons and only proc under specific requirements. Additionally only Hunters actually have access to self proccing unique Amplifiers, the only other one I can think of is Balidore's for Warlock, though that is a team wide buff they can apply. What I'm trying to say, is that Bungie seemingly is trying to tie these Amplifiers solely to weapons from now on and is currently trying to clean up their "past mistakes" by removing generalized Amplifiers from the game, though how does this tie into Bungie trying to create a more defined Sandbox with clearer seperation between Classes?

• Have you noticed that only Hunters have access to these self proccing Exotic Amplifiers?
• Have you also noticed, how titan exotics lately have been more and more focus on foritification & CC, or that almost all Warlock Exotics as of late are basically purely support?
• My guess is that Bungie is currently trying really hard to finally carve out really defined Class rolls, with the Hunter being the de-facto weapons Master, the Titan being the de-facto Tanks and Warlocks being the de-facto supports.

Obviously all of these rolls are already defined, yet I feel like that at this point in the games life, there is so much flow over, that with some small exceptions, basically every class can effectively achieve the same things the other can and my guess is that Bungie will potentially go hard with some future patches trying to more clearly define every class and this is only really the start. There'll always be some flow over, though I assume, that bungie will try to highly limit it in the future and will most likely do even more balance patches "fixing" older extics to better fit into their classes intended rolls.

  • The core of the Magus is a toggle to and from a Draining Beam which deals very small single target damage but absorbs graveyard mana as it damages and destroys Bloons
  • While toggled off from the Drain Beam, Magus attacks with a powerful Arcane Spike that deals massive damage to MOABs and revives Bloons it slays, while a Dark Phoenix circles overhead attacking with Firebomb breath and a radial fireball attack
  • Phoenix Explosion Ability: can be cast to consume the Paragon’s entire graveyard to set all Bloons on screen on fire for 30 seconds and summon one Zombie ZOMG for every 9000 graveyard mana consumed

• Resolved an issue where selling Geraldo, and then re-buying him would show the description of the last-viewed store item from before selling him

Platform Specific fixes

• PC: Beast Handler’s hotkey in the hotkeys menu has been moved up near the rest of the support towers
• PC: Added a ‘ Monkey Special 2’ hotkey (for towers like Beast Handler, Necromancers & Ace Paragon). By default the Special 1 & Special 2 hotkeys have been assigned to PageUp & PageDown and ordered so that PageUp triggers the upper specialty, and PageDown triggers the lower one
• Arcade: Resolved a strange one pixel wide black line that can appear above some text characters on the arcade font
• Chromebook: Game no longer crashes if attempting to login via webview
• Chromebook: Resolved an issue with bluetooth mice being unable to scroll

Balance Changes
Boomerang Monkey
This part has to be included along with the Lych Soul rework with Paragons which is finally making it in this update after necessary delays. As Boomerang Paragon’s knockback hits so many times so quickly, we need to make it more reasonable when applied to targets that aren’t immediately destroyed.

• Boomerang Paragon knockback amount reduced 3 > 1

Bomb Shooter
MOAB Assassin fills a useful role of a pure long cooldown ‘single target assassination’ in the game, but when compared to something like First Strike it feels a little lacking that it is unable to carry damage through MOAB Layers

• x4x MOAB Assassin ability passes through MOAB layers
• x4x MOAB Assassin ability explosion centers around the impact target

Tack Shooter
Blade Shooter has always struggled to find much value without MK or as a step to Maelstrom, so to give it build value on its own we feel like this should be a part of the base value on the upgrade.

• x3x Blade Shooter pierce increased from 6 > 8

Ice Monkey
Lowest tiers of ice monkey are far too effective for their cost against ceramics, with this scaling well all the way to round 100, we feel like ice duration against ceramics needs to be reduced to counter this but for now this reduction will only apply until T3.

• 000 Ice Monkey freeze duration reduced by 50% on ceramics
• All T3 Ice Monkeys increase freeze duration on ceramics from 50 > 100%
• 203 Icicles crosspath now gains camo prio

Glue Gunner
The Bloon Solver’s rework has been very popular, however, we’d like to have a better lead up into the new mechanics by introducing this earlier at the tier 4 now.

• 4xx Bloon Dissolver now creates puddles on track leading up to Bloon Solver, puddles deal 1 damage, all other stats and crosspath benefits are the same.

Sniper Monkey
This will allow Cripple MOAB to take out regular MOAB layers in one shot until round 100; for such a slow attacking single target tower we feel this will help top path flex, even if mostly for show.

• 5xx Cripple MOAB damage increased from 80 > 280

Monkey Buccaneer
Reworking Grape Shot crosspathing as it gains far too much crosspath value by T2 but then is lacking in purpose at higher tiers, double shot will only work as one extra grape however Destroyer will now apply its full attack rate buff to the grapes and Flagship will equip aspects of Grape Shot on the mini planes.

• 210 Grape Shot total projectiles reduced from 10 -> 6
• 310 Destroyer also reduced from 10 > 6 grapes
• 310 Destroyer now increases grape attack rate twice as much, matching increase to the regular attack
• 410 Aircraft Carrier planes radial attack now fires an arc of grapes instead of darts
• 410 Aircraft Carrier planes radial Emission Angle 360 > 90
• 410 Aircraft Carrier planes radial projectile count 8 > 6

Monkey Ace
Spectre is shifting a little of the ceramic bonus around into basic all damage at the cost of reduced pierce, which should make up for lack of single target damage while also making the pierce crosspath more necessary when being used for cleanup focus.

Heli Pilot
Even with the map-range advantage, rotors are weak compared to any other constant AoE circle like this. Chinook feels like it’s near a place we are happy with now, however we want another tiny nudge on cost while keeping cash generation value the same. Pushing some higher values on the last Comanche Commander changes as the missile attack is effectively such a small portion of the tower’s total damage late game.

• 302 Razor Rotors will now benefit from the faster firing crosspath
• 3xx Razor Rotors cooldown rate 0.75 > 0.5
• x4x Support Chinook price reduced from $10500 > 9500
• x4x Support Chinook supply crate cash generated reduced $1650 > 1,550

Mortar Monkey
As the Rapid Reload crosspath has actually fallen behind in value compared to Burny Stuff for top path Mortars we want to try a slight stun duration increase as this buffs the base path with a larger benefit to Rapid Reload mortars as a stalling option. Mortar consistency is lacking at x3x making it tough to spend on even though x4x is fairly good, so some of the T4 rate is shifting down to help out with this. As the camo property has grown quite weak and currently Signal Flare is considered the best decamo tool, we want to push back slightly on its cost and by reducing the blast radius of the decamo area while emphasizing crosspathing for effectiveness there.

• 4xx The Big One stun duration non-MOABs increased from 0.5s > 0.75
• 5xx The Biggest One stun duration MOAB increased from 0.3s > 0.5
• 5xx The Biggest One stun duration BFB increased from 0.2s > 0.3

Super Monkey
As Engineer sentries do this already, newly spawned Mini Avatars from temples will now by default match the target priority of the temple.

• 4xx Sun Temple's Magic Sacrifice mini Sun Avatars when placed will spawn with the same target prio as their parent tower

Ninja Monkey
We’re changing the Ninja Monkey Paragon’s focus as a fighter against camo, as we feel like a greater strength and tactical value against camo will be the full reveal of all camos rather than all camo removal.

• Ascended Shadow now grants global camo detection for all your towers
• Ascended Shadow no longer strips camo from Bloons with every attack
• Ascended Shadow main attack gains bonus to camo +6
• Ascended Shadow Flash Bomb Explosion gains bonus to camo +20
• Ascended Shadow Flash Bomb Shurikens gains bonus to camo +16
• Ascended Shadow Sticky Bomb Projectile gains bonus to camo +3200
• Ascended Shadow Sticky Bomb Explosion gains bonus to camo +700
• Ascended Shadow now deals 25% damage to all non-Boss MOABs that spawn

Alchemist
Alchemist Transforming Tonic is in a weird spot with the transformation unable to attack through walls when the base alchemist is able to. Also with this, including a QoL fix for the T5 that currently prevents transformed towers from functioning with target priority.

• x4x Transforming Tonic transformed alchemist can now ignore line of sight
• x5x Total Transformation towers transformed by the x5x will keep their Target Priority

Druid
While the tornado doesn't do anything to MOABs, it still spends itself on them which wastes a relatively long cooldown, so addressing this flaw. Avatar of wrath doubles the base attack speed before any scaling is applied, but this hasn’t ever applied to the 205 Lightning, so taking care of that as well. Housekeeping - even deep in the forest, it does actually make life better.

• 3xx Druid of the Storm’s Tornado no longer targets MOAB-class Bloons
• x3x Druid of the Jungle no longer pops Lead Bloons without 130 crosspath
• x3x Jungle Vine follows target prio of tower instead of strong
• x3x Jungle Vine defaults tower to strong priority when purchased
• 205 Avatar of Wrath base Heart of Thunder attack rate increased 2.3s > 1.15

Spike Factory
We’ve heard the feedback, so Spiked Mines get a tweak to get more mines exploding but with less pierce on each, to overall increase quality of life in more frequent use but less wasted pierce. This will help out with some of the problems it has scaling into late game super ceramics.

• 4xx Spiked Mines pierce increased from 12 > 20
• 4xx Spiked Mines explosion pierce reduced from 40 > 30
• 4xx Spiked Mines DoT damage increased from 1 > 10
• 5xx Super Mines explosion pierce remains at 60

Monkey Village
A minor QoL for cheap Monkeyopolis creation, we included a small base amount of cash production to the generation formula.

Engineer
The 005 crosspath fix in the last update left XXXL Trap slower than previously even if crosspathed to 205, so we are increasing that base 005 slightly to match up the 205 crosspath again so that it isn’t any slower than before.

Beast Handler
As our newest tower to be added to BTD6, we went over feedback for every path and made a large number of adjustments addressing a variety of points.

While they are complicated individuals, Adora can now fully appreciate the sacrifice of the newest Monkeys in the struggle against the Bloons.

Admiral Brickell
We aren’t happy with strats that start looking like exploits with frequent sell-replace loops.

• Upon Selling Brickell - all of her placed Mines are now expired along with her as well

Psi
Psi’s stalling out of the end of round is an odd mix of useful / annoying / out of control, so we are for now capping this to a 3 seconds of overtime stalling. Psi’s Psychic Blast ability also has weirdly low pierce for a long cooldown ability with no damage, we are increasing the base pierce greatly but it no longer increases in pierce at Lv7 since the extra pulse brings more pierce anyway.

• If no Bloons are left unpopped on screen aside from ones Psi is currently holding & destroying, these Bloons will be destroyed after a maximum of 3 seconds
• Lv3 Psychic Blast pierce increased from 50 > 200
• Lv7 Psychic Blast pierce increased from 100 > 200

Event / Boss / Relic / Knowledge

• All Lych Soul variations can now be stunned/slowed by paragon tier upgrades

Looking Forward
Five months of 2023 done and dusted, which feels to us like it has zoomed by, perhaps because the Auckland office where the BTD6 team is based has only just reopened after the severe flooding at the end of January. All of Update 36 and the majority of Update 37 were completed while again working from home, but we’re very excited to have the office repairs done, the flood wall almost finished, and the ability to work shoulder to shoulder again on fun new things for the monkeyverse! Here’s the latest gaze into the crystal ball:

  • New Boss - Phayze: another all new Boss concept and play style, not giving any other hints apart from the name itself
  • Summer fun: a new Brickell hero skin and a waterpark map aimed toward Intermediate to help keep northern hemisphere summer cool
  • Quests: continuing to build new quest system features and adding a few new Quests to the list
• Update 39 Key Content
  
  • Map Editor: under construction since last year with internal systems testing happening during 38.0 development, we are super excited to put map creation tools in player hands on as many platforms as possible when it goes live
  • New Hero - Spirit Walker: another unique design that we’re sandboxing already to make sure it has as much balance and art iteration as possible, again no hints other than the name
• Update 40 Key Content
  
  • New Paragon - Monkey Sub: we’ve tagged sub as the next Paragon, so tell the Navarch to stop hoarding all of the Portable Lakes!
  • Stretch Goals - Boss Rush Team Event and CT Themes: lots of unknowns 3 updates out but we have strong plans for a new Team event and new parameters for Contested Territory that will make each CT more dynamic - anything that we don’t get done by end of year will have strong groundwork for next year
• Console
  
  • Getting closer to submission on Xbox and PlayStation but this has been slow going. We’ve added another programmer and are working even more closely with platform partners to get through our last issues and launch as soon as possible, but that’s likely at least another 2 months. Switch is still a consideration depending on response to Xbox and PlayStation, as it will require additional bespoke development.
