2023.03.30 20:08 HoopsMcCann750 A Glass Half-Full Perspective in a Sub with Increasingly More Glass Half-Empty Perspectives
Look, I get it. We haven't been through a rebuild recently so the fanbase isn't really used to practicing patience. But I am getting thoroughly exhausted by the doomer mentality I have been seeing more of on this sub lately.
We have one of the better basketball players in the world right now in Haliburton and nearly everyone who is better is somewhere between five and fifteen years older than him. The mindset that this team is doomed because you can't imagine putting a contender around him within the next couple of years is short-sighted. He is an efficient playmaker who relies almost entirely on and basketball IQ to succeed. He feasibly could continue to play at an all-star level (or even better with some improvement) for 10+ years since his game does not rely on athleticism at all. And with the way that he plays, it's going to be way easier for guys to come in and thrive since they will be spoonfed good offensive opportunities.
We had the #6 pick in the draft this past year. With that selection, we got a guy who has been one of the top 6 rookies and has a ton of untapped upside to boot. Turning on Mathurin for not ironing out all of his issues within one season or only being historically good for part of the season is just being unrealistic with their expectations for a young player. He is ahead of schedule, 20 year olds are supposed to have ups and downs. No, he's not Michael Jordan, but he's still pretty fucking good. We will have another chance to add a prospect of his caliber in the draft, and I hope everyone will do their best to be patient with him and not panic if he's merely a great rookie and not the immediate savior of our franchise.
Second round picks are largely a crapshoot but we added a really promising young player in Nembhard. And when we did so, we signed him to the longest and largest guaranteed contract for a second round pick in NBA history. So not only did we get a legitimate NBA piece in the second round, something that is much easier said than done, we called our shot when we did it too. This tells me that our front office has a pretty good grip on evaluating young players and how they will fit on our team. It's looking like we are going to have two late firsts and one early second in this year's draft, which means that we will have three more cracks at adding quality players to our young team.
Basically, some of you guys need to relax. We started rebuilding 14 months ago and in that time, added a 23 year-old who is already an all-star, a rookie who might be first team All-Rookie, a rookie who might be second team All-Rookie and an improving 23 year-old wing in Nesmith who looks like he can be a solid piece moving forward. The future is bright, but more importantly, the future is far away so there is no need getting bent out of shape about all of our immediate problems because we have plenty of time to address them.

2023.03.30 20:06 daydreams172827 I can't find a job and I will surely be homeless in a few months time.
Last year, around June I quit my job and left an extremely physically, mentally, and s*xually abusive relationship to move back to my hometown and assist in end-of-life care for a family member. In August, they passed away. I've been applying ever since.
I need a job. I've needed a job for over 6 months now. I've applied and applied and applied. The only places that want to reach out to me are blatant scams and abusive workplaces that will take advantage of me. (MLMs or Sales position that pay less than legally allowed, in a state where $15.50 is minimum wage.)
Mind you, I haven't been picky with applying. It's been everything from janitorial work to food service to executive positions. If it's near me and open, you best believe I'd apply. But every time I get a letter or email within a week telling me I wasn't selected. I can't afford gas to go out and physically apply. Even when I have done it, I've just been told to apply online, where I'll surely be ignored.
I'm an artist and I'm struggling to make commission work as it's hard for me to find an avenue to advertise. Even on my art account on here, I don't have enough of a post history to post onto any art servers. My attempts are automatically flagged as spam and my posts are then deleted.
I'm an experienced dental assistant, yet no office I've applied to has hired me.
I'm a hard worker. I can do just about any job you ask of me. It's been extremely disheartening and depressing to open my emails to only be greeted with rejection letters.
I don't know what to do. It's been hard finding motivation to get out of bed every day. I know I'm a great worker. I'm dedicated. But with the job market the way it is right now, I don't know how I'm going to survive.

2023.03.30 20:06 No-Conversation- My wife is requesting an open relationship after 5 years and we have two young boys
Hello everyone,
I have no great outlets for help, and I've been swirling around with emotions the last four days after my wife asked if we could have a general open relationship. She was asking if we could date other people while keeping each other as the Primary family/relationship. My wife is 27 and I'm 32 years old. We have two boys 3 and 1 that we love with all our hearts. We have always loved being around each other and we fun every chance we get. We seldom get to go out on dates without the kids (Once every 3 months). I spend a lot of time at work during the week and she's in nursing school. We have about 3-4 hours during the week together with the kids and the weekends. We live in Florida with no other family in the state and we rely heavily on each other to make sure we and the kids have everything we need.
Day 1, 3/28/23 My wife would have liked a better setting to present this information, but I pushed her to tell me what was on her mind. I could tell she needed to share something with me. I had no clue what she was about to say. She let me know that for two years she has been desiring to have the feeling of going on a first date and having a new emotional connection with someone new (New butterfly feeling when you first date someone). Something I cannot provide her. She has battled with this for a while and prayed for the feeling to leave her. The day before she told me our very close friend (For clarity he is gay, and we are all close friends since before my wife and I met. He introduced us) was in town and she shared with him her feels. He's very emotionally entuned with himself and his feels and was concerned why she didn't feel safe sharing this information with me first. Later she told me that she didn't what kind of affect this would cause our relationship. She loves her life but is also young and desires the feeling of a new emotional connection and that excitement. She has stated that she's 100% in love with me and doesn't want to lose what we have. (It's hard to explain to most but my wife and I have had several moments in our lives where we should have died but God has saved us) We fully trust one another and when she tells me she wants to keep the life we have but add in another layer of short term excitement. I must trust that is what she's asking for. We've never needed to lie, and I can tell she is being honest (It's still unclear the extent of excitement she's needing, and I feel that can be a slippery slope from dating to sex). She's informed me this is something she wants to experience while she is still young and very desirable. We get pregnant quickly and she was only 23, and now she wants to have that fresh feeling of dating (That's my understanding).
Initially, I took several breaths to fully understand what I was hearing my head started to pound as my blood pressure increase. I looked at the women that I married, the love of my life, mother of my beautiful boys, and the person I trusted above all others. I deeply felt the pain in my bones. What had I done to trigger this request. Was I inadequate to meet my wife's desire, what did I do to cause my wife to need someone else in her life. - The emotions alone could fill the pages. Primarily it was a feeling of sadness that I was not the man my wife thought I would be and that I could never be what she needed to be filled all the way up with happiness/desire.
After taking some time and learning more about what she was asking it was time for bed.
Day 2 - I didn't sleep well and woke up using all my might to get the boys ready for school and to head to work at 6:20AM. I felt as though I was an empty shell of a man walking around work. I spend the next three hours reading articles on understanding open/poly relationships to help me better understand how we could compromise and what I could do to save my marriage. I was having troubling finding if this was something I could allow myself to handle. I was imagining my wife out on a date with someone else while I was at home with the kids. We rarely get to spend time together without the kids and now some lucky man is out with my wife hearing her beautiful laugh and seeing her smile. Taking in the beauty she shares. I ended up leaving work early sick to my stomach and having trouble functioning. I went straight to the gym to help combating the heavy weight of anxiety for the future and depression tempting my memories of our relationships. The gym helped but I found myself spending time looking at perfect pictures of our family and the doom that was to come in the next few weeks or months.
That night we talked about ground rules and specifically what she was looking for. One major obstacle was that she thought she could get what she needs without having sex with someone else. This gave me immediate relief and made me feel better about my insecurities and fears. She told me maybe two dates ever six months would satisfy what she was needing. This would be equal to the number of dates we get to have with one another.
Day 3, 3/29/23- Another night with little sleep, but after a few hours I was down after taking some helpful sleeping medication to aid my racing thoughts. Again, waking up thinking I was in someone's life and this couldn't be happening to me and my family. I went to work and spilled the beans to the only person I could trust at work. A highly educated 30-year-old male that has a mother and sister doctors OBGYN and physiatrist. I couldn't hold in the pain any longer and had to talk. He looked me strait in the face and said, "I'm so sorry man". He knew for most people wife asking for an open relationship that the end was right around the corner. I took his statements in stride he didn't know what my wife and I had been through. We'd both lived lives that were filled with risks and near death experiences. We were previous IV drug users and should have died many times before (Many of our friend had). Our cornerstone of 5+ years in recovery was honest. We knew without that we were surely not going to stay sober. He later came back into my office mentioning he spoke with his mother and sister and let me know in most cases like these the partner has already cheated. This challenged all the work I put into understanding my wife request the last two days. This was a minor setback and I let him know right away I 100% trust my wife and when she told me she has not acted on the urges it's the truth no further explanation was needed. I did greatly appreciate him checking in on my and letting me know several people were praying for us. (I do not recommend talking with strangers this early. It clouded my thinking and understanding of my wife's communication. It also added doubt into the mix that did not need to be there)
I got ahold of our mutual friend who my wife originally opened up to. He was very understanding in my feeling and let me know the shock will wear off and to give myself time to process these emotions (He too told us he was in a working poly relationship and he would try to keep his insight as unbiased as possible). I let him know by trying to set up parameters/ground rules and making this possible was severally impacting my soul. I believe now this was a little catastrophizing of a statement as I'm working towards finding a way to keep our family together. God sent me two much needed signs this day.
The first one a gentleman who had been terminated from work this day was walking by saying farewell he didn't mention to me at that time it was his last day but he looked at me and asked what was wrong. Apparently, I was noticeably hurting. I didn't tell him the specifics but that I was having trouble at home. "He said trust in God always." That had a lot of meaning for me. It helped me to keep pushing on and to trust in God always.
The second sigh when I went to get my medication the pharmacist provided me a Narcan inhaler. This of course helps bring you back once you're overdosing from opiates. I have recently had a shoulder surgery and knew the most peaceful way to go would be to overdose. This was only a fleeting thought among millions I was wrestling with over the last three days, but it was a profound sign for me to keep fighting. Believe me I have so much to live for. This was just a short-lived fleeting thought but God still extinguished it right away. "Trust in God always."
My wife and I didn't have much time to talk today her father was in town and I wanted to mix things up. We got the small mini pool and slide out for the kids and set it up in the back yard spraying water on the kids and watching them play. It was fun and my wife and I made fajitas. Later that night just before bed I had a few questions I wanted to ask her and I let me emotions and fear get the best of me. I let her know that in this moment If she feels as though she should be dating someone else then she should, but that we will no longer be in a relationship. I shouldn't be so direct in a situation that's extremely volatile. My wife is wanting to communicate with me and assured me we have nothing we need to do right now and multiple times now she's mentioned "everything will be okay. We will be okay." I felt bad for telling her this, but it was how I truly felt in that moment.
That night I felt like I had done something wrong by telling my wife how I felt. I don't know how to navigate these emotions nor do I have experience with taking through delicate situations like this. This is the first big ticket item my wife and I have not been able to tackle together in a day or two.
Day 4, 3/30/23 - I'm looking for advice to help me understand the benefits of poly and how I can train myself to accept my wife's request and to find happiness in her happiness with someone else. I feel as though neither of us have the best delivery on information and I don't want to make her feel bad for coming out and sharing with me.
I know for myself I will have trouble dating other people. I get all I need from my wife. I do have fantasies about others, but I could never actually see myself doing anything sexually. Emotionally I would not be interested in an emotional connection I do not long for those feeling.
Thank you for reading I want the best for my family we truly love one another.
This is the first time I've shared online, and I think there is therapy in writing down my feeling and concerns. I hope this helps other to see that they're not alone and these things happen. I will fight for my wife and our children and do my best to find a way to make it work. If it doesn't work out, I will do my best to copartner with my wife and take care of our little ones. Life is short and my wife deserves to have the things she desires as do I.

2023.03.30 20:06 Vast-Bee Can you guys critique my Spanish learning plan?
Hello! My goal is to learn Spanish and I’m willing to set aside a good amount of time a day to learn. I took Spanish in high school so I know a little bit, but I’m nowhere near fluent. I was wondering if you guys could tell me what you think of my study plan. Are there any exercises I should add/take away? This is my daily plan so far:
-listen to an episode on the Language Transfer app/take notes -listen to/watch a couple videos on Dreaming Spanish -Switch to watching TV shows in Spanish (with subtitles, for now) -10 minutes of Duolingo (I know it’s not the best app, but the reminders are so relentless that it helps me stay on track lol. I do it in the morning and I feel like it’s a good remindegets my brain in Spanish mode)
Is this a good place to start? Should I be doing grammar exercises/worksheets as well, or should I worry about that later?
Thanks to anyone who’s willing to help!

2023.03.30 20:05 Representative-Sky91 I'm regretting my decision, but I know that you're happy. And I dont want to ruin that
My dear,
I am writing my thoughts out from the porch of my house this late at night, just come from work and I have to wait a few more hours before someone opens the door for me. My body's aching, my breath's getting tight every now and then. No worries, I'm gonna be okay.
At least that's what I wanted to think.
I tried to relax by scrolling on my phone, hoping that sceneries and spotify will soothe my nerves, but first that I see is you. That gentle beaming smile with flowers and trees behind your back. I... just scrolled away thinking that even if I like your picture or not you'll be too busy and preoccupied to even noticed. And I understand.
Honestly, I've been looking back lately. Its been long gone since we properly talked. Or rather, when I began to set my boundaries and limit myself from interacting with you. Last time we talked was after I caught myself visiting the city that was close to your heart. The pine trees, the winter breeze, and that long journey where you can be on earth and clouds at the same time. I told you that it was a pleasant surprise that I would actually go there. You were glad, and we sorta hoped that we will meet again. I honestly thought and hoped that I wont wish really hard to hear you again.
I wanted to tell you so much what my life has been going all those time. I wanted to tell you all my achievements and my fears, I wanted to tell you how its actually funny that I discovered having allergies in Korean Noodles, and how frightening that I developed Asthma just after the year started. I wanted to share everything that I learned, that right now, I am getting a hang of being a functional adult and I can afford all my health needs. But at the same time I feel envious and jealous that you have time to work out and ride a bike while I cant use mine since Im too tired and I dont want to collapse on the street
But my dear, what I want to tell you the most, is that every now and then I gathered the courage to show my affection through hugs and holding hands, all while deep inside I wished that in times likes this I want your hand holding mine, and your arm wrapped tight. And maybe, just maybe I could just walk to you and rest my head just right above your shoulder, letting all my sorrows, fears, and tiredness wore out and be in the safe world that is your embrace.
I... I really dont know what else my soul wanted from you, when I know deep in my thought that it would take a perfect miracle if we ever crossed paths again and continue where we left off. I can feel just how close I am to wish at every saints, to pray in every kind of God, to burn paper incenses and bargain the devil just to have you and hear your comforting words. But I know that destiny wont allow it, and I admit it will be too selfish of me, so I begrugingly but understandibly spent my woes in alcohol, coffee beans, and pornography.
Ah dont make that disappointed look! I'm bloody twenty six, of course I have needs! Don't worry a bit I haven't been too desperate to actually get some martyr to soothe my troubles under the sheets of their bed. My brain hasnt left my head thankfully. Last thing I need is that I get STD which it would be really ironic to me if you thought about it.
But yeah, as much as miss your hand holding mine, I've looked back at your picture and I know that you are living the life that you deserve. You are just few steps closer to achieve everything that your heart sets out. And I know that in your eyes, there's already someone in your heart even though I'll never know who. How couldn't I? Those were the very same gaze that I saw when you asked me. And I have to admit, we are now living in two vastly different worlds; you with flowers, trees, and the blue sea... and me surrounded by buildings, scorching heat, and coffee beans.
I'm not gonna hope that you'll find out all of this, unless you actually a redditor and found out this letter that I made for 55 minutes. Or for a sick joke, someone took a screenshot of this whole thing and post it in every social media account. Anyhow my dear, I apologize for the lonely musings of this fella, and like I always say, if destiny permits, we'll meet again and tell you how my life panned out. I earnestly prayed that I still be strong and breathing when I see you again. At least if that will be the last time we will see each other, at least I can properly say goodbye.
Till then, I wish you all the best, and before I leave, here's what I wish I could have said without fumbling:
Yes, I will be alright.
See you when I see you, my dear.

2023.03.30 20:05 DTG_Bot This Week at Bungie - 03/30/2023
Source:
https://www.bungie.net/7/en/News/Article/destiny-2-twab-3-30-23 This week at Bungie, we’re still recovering from the emotional roller coaster that was last week’s story mission and this week’s remembrance centering around Amanda Holliday. While we’re still making our best attempt at pretending we aren't sobbing messes over our favorite mechanic, we did want to share our preview of the mid-Season weapons update, a fun behind-the-scenes look at development animation horrors, and an update on what our Player Support team is working hard on.
Here’s what we’re going to be digging into this week:
- A preview of our mid-Season update from the team.
- Answering a question about one particular weapon players are searching for.
- A behind-the-scenes look at placeholder animations regarding that gun.
- Update from our Player Support team on known issues and coming updates.
- The community’s favorite #AOTW and #MOTW picks of the week.
In case you missed last week’s blog, here’s a helpful TLDR:
- We said farewell to the man behind our beloved Commander, Lance Reddick.
- Shared a quick wrap-up of a recent Crucible blog post.
- Shared some changes to the Root of Nightmares raid.
- A bonus heads up that Master and Challenge Mode begins this week.
You can check out last week’s update here to learn more!
Before we move on to the actual TWAB, we wanted to pay tribute to the incredible Amanda Holliday. Last week, we all said goodbye to a character that proudly walked the Guardian path in every way but her title. Holliday gave her life during Season of Defiance, and she did so in the most Amanda way possible: like a compassionate Badass with a capital ‘B.’ No matter her trials, her heart never shied away from caring about those around her, even when her mind begged her to be more reserved. We saw it with her friendship with Crow, and against all odds, we saw it in the small ways she showed our Vanguard that she was there to support them. We also saw it each time we spoke with her, even if we just needed a little ship tune-up.
Image Linkimgur
On a more personal note, I worked on aircraft when I was active duty military, so I always looked up to Amanda as a character and felt a special bond with her. I could see myself in her. I wanted to be her. She was a Light and had a strength I don’t even think she knew about. It has always been inspiring, and her journey will continue to inspire long after her sacrifice.
Amanda Holliday gave up her life to help those around her, for those who needed protection. Needed safety. She sacrificed herself for a cause she believed in, and it’s our job as Guardians to make her proud.
Time For a Difficult(y) Conversation
We've been keeping an eye on community feedback on overall difficulty since Lightfall's launch, and we have some changes in today's update and future updates that retune certain experiences. In today’s update, we’ve reduced Legend and Master enemy HP scalars for non-boss units, which we felt were a little higher than we liked:
- Reduced the enemy HP scalar in all non-raid/dungeon Legend and Master activities by 10%.
- Reduced the co-op enemy HP scalar in Legendary Avalon by 33% in a full fireteam.
We've also made some additional reductions to Commendations requirements so players can reach their milestones at a more enjoyable pace:
- Reduced Hawthorne's weekly challenge Commendations target from 20 to 5.
- Removed Guardian Rank objectives that require players to give Commendations from Ranks 7, 8, and 9.
- Further reduced Commendation score requirements for Guardian Ranks 7-9:
- Rank 7: 100 (was 460)
- Rank 8: 250 (was 790)
- Rank 9: 500 (was 1,290) ##Mid-Season Preview, Weapons Edition
Hello everyone, and welcome to another mid-Season weapons balance pass preview! Senior Design Lead Chris Proctor here. This is not going to be a huge one, but we feel that the changes we do have are impactful to the sandboxes in both PvP and PvE. Also, as a note in case you missed it, in last week's patch, we corrected an issue with Target Lock that was making it significantly more forgiving to use than intended, which originally would have been included in this patch, but we felt the change warranted being pulled forward.
PvE Primary Weapon Balance
We wanted to see how the PvE sandbox shook out after the release of Lightfall, not necessarily to see if primary weapons needed a buff, but more to see how much we should buff them. We've done quite a bit of testing on these numbers, in content ranging from Heroic Nightfalls to Legendary campaigns, all the way up to Grandmasters and we think that the changes are impactful without invalidating the difficulty of the appropriate levels.
Image Linkimgur
In Heroic and Legendary content, you should be more likely to one-shot red-bar enemies depending on your weapon type, and even in GMs, we have shaved how many shots it takes and time it takes to kill for the below weapons against red and orange bar enemies. We want to add that we do not believe we are done with tuning weapon damage in PvE, this is merely a starting point, and we will revisit it in the coming Seasons to make sure everything has a place in the sandbox.
- Increased the damage of the following weapon types against red and orange bar enemies in PvE:
- Auto Rifles face steep competition from Submachine Guns (SMGs) within parts of their range, and having a longer possible engagement distance wasn't doing enough to offset it. We don't want Auto Rifles to defeat combatants faster than SMGs, as that would flip the script and invalidate the lower range options instead, but we did feel like we could close the gap substantially.
- Pulse Rifles and Hand Cannons have been considered weaker in harder PvE content for some time, so we wanted to make sure the buff we gave them was substantial, while at the same time keeping them below the lower ranged options in terms of pure lethality. Pulse Rifles have struggled, being less effective than Scout Rifles despite, for the most part, having a less effective range. We also put Sidearms into this group because they similarly lagged in damage output compared to the longer ranged SMGs. At these values, Pulse Rifles should be in a more reasonable spot, Hand Cannons should feel like they pack more of a punch, and Sidearms should fall much better into the "high risk, high reward" category.
- Pulse Rifles, Hand Cannons, and Sidearms - 20%
- Scout Rifles - We need to be careful tuning Scout Rifles up too much, because they offer the benefits of very safe engagement ranges paired with unlimited ammo, so making them too strong instantly turns most endgame PvE content into "sit as far away as possible and plink," which we want to avoid. That being said, after the changes to the other weapons, they felt like they were trailing just a little too far behind, so we have moved them up as well.
- SMGs and Bows - We tuned the rest of the primary weapons using these two archetypes as benchmarks, but as mentioned above, we will continue to keep an eye on the primary weapon balance in PvE and may revisit their tuning as needed.
Image Linkimgur
Weapon Archetypes
- Submachine Guns
- Aggressive Frame SMGs have been very strong in the PvP meta for the last couple of months, with a handful of outliers taking most of the credit. The IKELOS SMG was something of a mystery to us, as we continually felt, and got reports, that the gun seemed to have much better stability than its stats would indicate it should, compared to other SMGs. Originally, the IKELOS SMG was built back in the Warmind era when we had fewer guidelines on how to keep weapons balanced, and upon doing a deeper investigation we found that some custom tuning had been added to the weapon's scope to give it a recoil reduction effect. For comparison, the recoil reduction tuning was like having an effect nearly equivalent to Zen Moment at max strength, and always active. We have removed that custom tuning, and the recoil should now feel in-line with other SMGs.
- IKELOS SMG:
- Removed some tuning in the custom scope causing these weapons to have significantly less recoil than intended. The recoil is now in line with other Aggressive Frame SMGs.
- We are aware that this change in isolation, while noticeable, is unlikely to put much of a dent in Aggressive Frame SMGs current dominance, so we have a larger change to reduce the damage of the Aggressives sub-family that will release alongside Season 21. The change will be targeted at shifting the resiliency threshold where the gun can achieve its optimal 0.67s Time to Kill (TTK) down to a lower value, to force a more reasonable 0.77s TTK against most players, while also decreasing their forgiveness of missed crits.
- Fusion Rifle
- When we last touched Fusion Rifles, Shotguns had seen a big drop in effectiveness, and we were concerned that Rapid-Fire Frame Fusions would rise up to take their place. As such, we preemptively nerfed Rapid-Fires pretty hard. In today's sandbox, this is less of a concern due to the renewed strength of Shotguns following the airborne effectiveness and pellet spread changes, so we have walked back some of the damage nerf we made to Rapid-Fires. This change will push them back to defeating all resilience levels in 7 bolts and give them a decent bump to ease of use.
- Increased burst damage by 15 (damage per burst goes from 245 to 260, damage per bolt goes from 27.2 to 28.9).
- Damage in PvE is unchanged.
- Trace Rifle
- Trace Rifles are in a bit of a precarious spot in the Crucible. In the right hands, they can kill very quickly from long ranges, even outside of their optimal time to kill (TTK). On the other hand, they can be difficult to use, and they often feel heavily ammo limited if you are not hitting the optimal TTK. We did a lot of experimenting with them for this change, including multiple combinations of damage and crit ratios, and settled on the values below as the highest we could push their damage output before they became frustrating to deal with in Crucible. Interestingly, with damage any higher than this the feeling was that they had a surplus of ammo, especially in 6v6 modes, and could often net 2 kills per Special brick picked up, which was concerning. Once we moved their damage values, they still felt like they needed a little bit more, and we wanted to lean harder into making them feel good to use, so we increased the effect that stability has on reducing flinch at the high end of the stat. We will monitor this change when it goes live and may revisit the ammo situation in a future update if their effectiveness remains low.
- Increased base damage by 4% (base damage goes from 12 to 12.5).
- Reduced precision hit multiplier from 1.4x to 1.35x (crit damage goes from 16.8 to 16.9).
- Increased the effectiveness of stability at reducing flinch by 10% at 100 stat (scales down at lower values).
- Sniper Rifle
- Rapid-Fire Frame Sniper Rifles have long struggled to find a place in both the PvP and PvE meta. In PvP, their inability to kill with two body shots puts them on uneven footing with other Snipers, and in PvE their fast RPM but standard inventory sizes mean you constantly feel low on ammo. To address these concerns and differentiate them from other Sniper sub-families, we have reduced their recoil by 50%. This means hitting crits on a boss or Champion in PvE is much easier, and taking rapid follow-up shots in PvP is too. We have also increased their inventory stat by 30%, which should give them a lot more rounds to play with in PvE content.
- Reduced recoil by 50%.
- Increased total ammunition (magazine + reserves) by 30%.
Image Linkimgur
Exotic Weapons
- Final Warning - Final Warning being able to track targets through barricades, while funny in some cases, felt pretty unfair to play against and was not an intended mechanic of the weapon.
- Can no longer mark targets through Titan Barricades.
- Tarrabah - This weapon is something we have been keeping an eye on for a while, and with the spotlight being shown on Aggressive Frame SMGs, it felt like Tarrabah has had its time in the sun. When the weapon was introduced, there was substantially less survivability in PvP, and the intention was that it would take nearly two full engagements to get Ravenous Beast active, which made it one of the costliest perk activators we had in game and justified the extreme power it offered. As the sandbox has progressed, however, survivability has increased, and it has become possible for Ravenous Beast to be very close to activating after a single engagement. This has meant that savvy players could purposefully bait or take a small amount of damage (like standing in a grenade's effect) to top off the perk, and then have it active for the second engagement. The increased ease of access has made Ravenous Beast an outlier in today's Crucible, and we were left with the options of reducing the potency of the perk itself or trying to make its activation more difficult, and we decided to work with the latter. This reduction in energy granted from taking damage puts the onus back on the user to deal damage and shifts the balance of the perk back towards a difficult activator that justifies its reward of a potent effect. In addition, we are continuing our mission to address zoom outliers, and this felt like a good time to reduce the zoom of Tarrabah back down to something more in line with the rest of the SMG archetype.
- Reduced the amount of Ravenous Beast energy generated when taking damage from 3% to 1%.
- Reduced zoom from 16 to 15.
- Revision Zero - Fourth Times the Charm (FTTC) working when Revision Zero went into Hunter's Trace is a fun and intended interaction, but it caused some unfortunate issues. Activating it too early while the perk was up caused the weapon to overflow its limited mag size and return to the normal Pulse Rifle mode. We have made a fix so that FTTC can continue to work while Hunter's Trace is active, but it will not be able to grant ammo until all shots have been expended. This means you can still enjoy the 2 free shots provided by the perk as long as you hit all 4 Hunter's Trace rounds without worrying about being kicked out of the mode. In addition, we have buffed the damage of the Hunter's Trace rounds by 25% in PvE, and we have buffed the Häkke Heavy Burst rounds by 75% in PvE. This will now make it more of a tradeoff when choosing between the origin perks, either dealing more damage in the primary mode but charging Hunter's Trace more slowly or dealing less damage but charging the bonus shots more quickly.
- Fourth Times the Charm will now be reset when entering Hunter's Trace.
- This will prevent the issue of firing a single shot while in Hunter's Trace and being forcibly returned to Pulse Rifle mode when FTTC activates.
- Increased PvE damage of the Hunter's Trace rounds by 25%.
- Increased PvE damage of the Häkke Heavy Burst rounds by 75%.Video Link ####At Season 21 Launch
- A sweeping rework of weapon hip fire reticles to better display useful information to players (accuracy, aim assist, charge state, Exotic perk state, etc.).
- The Aggressive Frame SMG nerf.
- A 10% PvE buff to Sniper Rifle damage.
- Buffs/adjustments to more than a dozen Exotic weapons, including Graviton Lance and Salvation's Grip.
In the Future
- We are going to be taking a look at how zoom interacts with damage fall off, and the base damage fall off ranges of all weapons in general.
- Zoom, and perks like Rangefinder that manipulate zoom, have become a requirement on several weapon types, either to compete at all in the sandbox, or to allow the weapon to exceed its intended engagement ranges. This has led us to begin to consolidate zoom values on certain weapon archetypes, which removes an important lever that we can use to modify weapon feel, given the effect zoom has on field of view, recoil reduction, and aim assist falloff.
- We will be investigating decoupling damage falloff from zoom (this would be paired alongside a refresh of the base damage falloff values to compensate), which should allow us to better control the engagement ranges of individual archetypes, while at the same time letting us continue to use zoom as a tuning knob for weapon feel without dramatically changing their performance.
The Case of the Missing Khvostov, A Peek Behind the Developer Curtain
Cinematics Director James Myers has an answer that many of you have been asking: “Where the heck is the Khvostov weapon seen in cutscenes?!” Funny story about that, we’ll let Myers take this one.
Myers: During the production of Lightfall, a certain story beat was pitched related to reluctantly aiming a weapon, and we quickly realized that we would need to animate that moment much more specifically than we typically handle Guardians pointing weapons in previous scenes. Many players have noticed some of the sillier results in some real-time scenes, even when we avoid extreme poses (like our Guardian holding a Bow at the end of The Witch Queen.) So, I spun up a thread with the studio leads and suggested that we decide on a “default weapon” that we could feature if we ever needed something specific like this. I suggested the Khvostov because it’s the very first weapon every player receives in Destiny. Literally every Guardian has tinkered around with this weapon, so it felt like the right call.
At the same time, new systems were being developed that would feature Guardians (like Commendations), and similarly, there were a lot of visual bugs popping up with certain weapons like Glaives and Bows. The animation team was stretched thin closing on cinematics, and a new set of animations was, unfortunately, something that would cost us other content. Because of that, we made the decision to use the same default logic in the instances where a visual bug would detract from the quality bar we aim to achieve.
Regarding helmets seen in in-engine cinematics, I have seen some folks post screenshots of their Guardians from recent real-time cinematics, and many were helmetless! Something we started doing in Lightfall is respecting the player's choice of helmet or no helmet in real-time scenes, where appropriate (we'll keep your helmet on in the vacuum of space for example). But for the most part, if you choose "hide helmet," you'll see your Guardian's face. And if you don't, you won't unless there's a special exception (I don't want to make that promise too airtight, just in case!). There is one caveat to keep in mind: the Season 20 cinematics were in production before we finalized this plan, so from Season 21 onward this will be consistent!
As a little bonus “sneak peek,” some animators in the film industry were recently discussing how they push animation poses in ridiculous ways to get the framing just right on camera, making for better shot composition and framing. It stirred up some interesting conversation, so we figured we'd show you one of these reframings with an example from the Season 20 intro cinematic. Whatever it takes to get the shot, y’know?

To Strand or Not to Strand, It's Not Really a Question at This Point

Hippy: It’s pretty easy to see that we love ourselves a good Strand grapple. Seriously, some of the videos y’all tag us in are making Spider-Man proud. We just know it. While some videos out there go ham on making a statement ala green-flavored Darkness, this “strange anomaly” is so subtly hilarious it was impossible to leave out of this week’s movie picks.

And that's a wrap on our latest TWAB! This one was pretty weapons-focused, but with so much talk about recent changes, we wanted to spend some time going over what's coming down the pipeline.
Now that our paths must diverge once more, just a friendly reminder to please remember to drink your water, prioritize that self-care, pet all the good puppers out there for me, and always lead with your kindest foot forward. See you on the flip side, friends.

2023.03.30 20:05 Spartawolf Galactic High (Chapter 63)
First/
Previous “Woah!” Jack yelled out as he fell out of bed Luckily he hadn’t been foolish enough to have set Dante up right next to him just in case of any accidents like this.
What stood in front of him holding a tray looked like a collection of rocks, pebbles and dirt vaguely moulded into a humanoid-ish form. Staring at it wide-eyed he levelled his gun at the thing as it slowly motioned to the tea it.had, and began to pour Jack a cup.
“Good morning Jack!” Zayle perked up as they walked in after the hulking thing. “No no no! Please don’t shoot him! He’s really nice and still owes me favours!”
Jack just stared back at the Squa’Kaar with the biggest ‘WTF’ expression on his face, not saying anything as the pile of rubble held out the mug for him to take, which he eventually did after he got the feeling it was staring at him.
“Zayle…” Jack began. “What’s going on?”
“Are you okay
halveer?” Zayle asked. “My watcher spirit alerted me that you were starting to awaken so I thought I would make you a hot drink to wake you up! I sent my earth spirit to take it to you while I helped tidy up downstairs with my air spirit!”
“What time is it?” Jack asked with a groan as he got up, taking the mug from the earth spirit and taking a sip and taking care not to flinch from the taste. It was strong and bitter, and it seemed like Zayle had tried to counter that by putting way too much sweetener in it, but there was no way Jack was going to tell them after they were kind enough to go through the effort of making it and bringing it to him.
“It is early morning, I didn’t expect you of all people to awaken for a while yet!” Zayle commented. “Chiyo told me you and Nika probably would be up though. Are you feeling better?”
“Yeah.” Jack lied.
“Oh good!” Zayle perked up. “I hope everyone else does too! Uh…would you like me to get you some clothes to wear?”
“Shit!” Jack cursed as he got to his feet, quickly downing the rest of the drink and putting the mug back on the tray as he quickly went to the pile of clothes on the floor and threw on a thin undershirt and shorts.
“No need to be embarrassed.” Zayle shrugged nonchalantly. “Earth spirits don’t really understand that kind of concept.”
“Uh…” Jack began, staring at the gecko, who scoffed.
“What? I can grow a penis whenever I like, why would I be bothered?” Zayle smiled at Jack with a shrug.
Immediately, Jack spat out the drink still in his mouth in shock, spraying the earth spirit with the milky liquid. If the spirit seemed upset, it didn’t show it.
“What the shit!? Okay, time out.” Jack spoke up after he finished spluttering. “I don’t even know if you’re joking or if you’re serious. That was too much!”
“Sorry!” Zayle covered their mouth to stifle their laugh. “It is true though! My species evolved to do it to deal with population issues but it doesn’t really matter these days. At least it helps with the stupid school uniform policy! Have you ever tried wearing a skirt in a breezy winter? It’s not good!”
“Can’t say I have.” Jack replied with the first genuine chuckle he had in a while. “Is it really that terrible?”
“It’s really bad! My people grew up in warm swamps, but not baking hot like the summers here! That’s when you get horrible chafing with dangly parts! It takes a few months to fully change but usually Rayle and I time it well to match the seasons!”
“Too much information!” Jack snorted with a laugh. “Maybe we can change the topic to where we’ll be heading to pick your stuff up?”
“Sure, but I think Nika might need some help.” Zayle looked to the side, seemingly at nothing. “My watcher spirit is telling me she’s having trouble getting to her feet.”
“Alright, let's not wake anyone up.” Jack decided, looking at Dante with concern. Despite everything that had happened, the ‘dog’ hadn’t woken up from their slumber, and Jack quickly rearranged the blankets so they were better covered, but in a way that allowed everyone to check up on him without disturbing him.
The two headed downstairs, followed awkwardly by the earth spirit with pebbles tapping the wood as it trundled along.
“Morning.” Nika groaned as she stumbled her way to the living room clad in just her sports bra and shorts, her lower half surrounded by some kind of faint smoke that snaked around her legs and tail until she was able to grab a blanket and wrap it around herself. “Thanks for the assist, Zayle.” she sighed as the smoke coalesced and formed a small humanoid shape that stood at attention next to her.
“How are you feeling?” Jack asked the Kizun as Zayle quickly saw another opportunity to be proactively useful in making tea while her spirits awkwardly just stood there.
“Still sore, still stiff.” Nika sighed. “But healing naturally. I won’t let Alora give me a jump start when there could be lives at stake back at the Clan Bharzum compound. We have many friends in medical comas or being put back together for resurrection, and I’ll be damned if I take magical healing over them.”
Jack nodded as he sat on the sofa next to her. “No morning workout for us then?”
Nika rolled her eyes at him. “Careful, I might try a lap around the district even if I have to crawl! I’ve been hurt before but I never get used to just sitting down on the sofa and not doing anything productive. I know many of our friends like to do that and I’m not one to judge but I hate being forced to do nothing else without any choice in the matter.”
“We could find something practical.” Jack considered. “I don’t want to think too hard about homework but the Industrial Vocation bot we were working on was fun!”
“The one with the eight legs you thought up?” Nika grinned. “Yeah we can do that here while the others are still sleeping.”
“I can start making breakfast if you want?” Zayle asked as her earth and air spirits lingered behind her, having not been given tasks to do. “Or if it’s too early I can summon my water spirit to clean the pipes?”
“You should take a break instead and calm down.” Jack smiled. “You’ve done more than enough already and none of us even asked you to! Maybe you can sit down and rest while you tell us about your soon-to-be-ex-landlord instead?”
“The Laird?” Zayle asked. “Paranoid, crazy and power hungry, though nothing like the horrible and powerful enemies I’ve heard you’ve encountered. He wasn’t too terrible in the past but I think ever since his position started to get tenuous he’s been making a bunch of terrible decisions. Originally the security was alright and it was an environment Rayle and I were comfortable with so we stayed there because it was something we could afford while we attended school, but for a while now the dues have kept going up and we get less for it. He’s been bringing in extra thugs that like to try and fine people or intimidate residents into not leaving. That’s why I was hoping to get our things and get out before things get worse!”
“What was your original plan?” Nika asked curiously. “You mentioned before how you and Rayle had it all planned out. Where would you have moved to?”
“We were tempted to sign up to the Red Legion as aspirants. They provide free lodgings and military training after school and we have friends that have already signed up. The benefits are really good if you have magical capabilities, though it does mean we’d be tied to their operations on the Ring. Alternatively Kritch mentioned to Rayle that his family might be in a position soon to accept some tenants! Rayle was really keen on that idea for some reason…”
“Right.” Jack smiled, suspecting some ulterior motive on the part of their Lizta friend. “What kind of security has this Laird got? You mentioned thugs.”
“Security before was a local militia before there were arguments about pay and a bunch of them left. The Laird brought in anyone that could shoot a gun irrespective of their background. Bandits in all but name! Some of the neighbours have reported being mugged or robbed by them, so that’s mainly why I asked you for your kind assistance in the matter. Rayle and I can usually move around and go to the shops without really attracting any attention but moving out certainly would.”
“I get it.” Jack nodded. “A capable group wouldn’t be a tempting target for the bandits so your hope is for them not to harass you to stay.”
“Yes.” Zayle nodded. “I don’t like violence or confrontation but I hate being unsafe or robbed even more! If it is possible to get to the vault where the Laird is keeping the things he takes that his thugs aren’t skimming off then it may be possible to return sentimental items to my former neighbours if they’re able to get out themselves. They’d probably reward us too if we were to do it, and I’d feel more confident making the attempt with you than if it was just myself and Rayle.”
“I can’t guarantee we’ll go for that but it’s something to consider if the opportunity presents itself.” Jack pointed out seriously. “How were you able to pay your way before if you’re a full-time student?”
“My spirits are very utilitarian and Rayle is quite skilled with druidic magic.” Zayle shrugged. “Mainly odd jobs. We’ve volunteered with the Greenwardens before and sometimes we are able to sell byproducts of what we are able to produce which keeps us afloat. We are even able to grow GrainCoin and other AstralCurrencies sometimes which helps keep us in the black, and we’ve learned a bit about trading in the process.”
“Might be a good idea to repeat that to Alora.” Nika pointed out after stretching herself out more on the sofa. “We have a lot of very fertile garden space and an enthusiastic Eladrie that’ll be all over you, and Rayle too once they recover.”
“Yes…” Zayle’s expression drooped at being reminded of Rayle’s condition. If Jack had to guess, the reason for Zayle throwing themselves into chores and jobs was as a coping mechanism to try and forget. It probably wasn’t healthy, but then again, who was he to criticise?
“What’s the district like?” Jack added. “Please don’t leave anything out. If we’re helping you we need to make sure we do so in the right way so we don’t run into any problems.”
“There’s a lot of abandoned and ruined properties. It should be easy to hide and lay low if needed.” Zayle thought. “Oh yeah, lots of boat travel where bridges have been busted. I usually use my spirits but with more people I suppose that might be a problem.”
“Boat travel?” Jack asked in confusion. “What kind of place is this?”
“It’s swamp land suited for my species?” Zayle asked, sounding confused. “Why wouldn’t you need a boat for a place like that? Many islands of buildings amidst the canals, and the best humid environment we can afford to keep us moisturised. It is a large district spread between several factions that may turn into a horrible war, probably the next time the fog builds up.”
“Hmm.” Jack pondered. “Sounds almost like Venice. I went there once but it was packed with other tourists. A bunch of islands connected by even more bridges with the buildings constantly sinking into the ground. It has a lot of history but it’s basically just a tourist trap now.”
“Huh?” Zayle asked, now even more confused. “I have never heard of this…Ven-iss. But yes, several of the buildings sink into the ground by design to create an underground space in certain places. I am pretty sure the vault area has multiple access points with tunnels dug underneath so loot can quickly be taken there and possibly smuggled out. I’ve had watcher spirits follow some of the goons to confirm it.”
“How long does it take for you to normally get to your place when you enter the territory?” Nika asked, trying to get the gecko back on track.
“Just less than half an hour normally, but that is when I utilise my spirits to travel with Rayle, who also helps with their druidic powers.”
“So likely longer.” Jack nodded. “Do you at least have a map?”
Uhh…” Zayle fidgeted around for their commlink, reaching into one of the pockets of their newly-liberated dressing gown from the collection of clothes Jack and Sephy had robbed before bringing it up. “I have the sections of it I frequently use?”
“That’ll be useful.” Nika nodded. “Best wait for Sephy to wake up before we check it out and map a route.”
“Sometimes the thugs gather or patrol in places but I just take an alternative path.” Zayle added. “Even easier if you find or take a boat but there is usually the occasional sentry you need to watch out for, though maybe they’ll be more focused on where the other gangs will be coming from.”
“Something to bear in mind.” Jack noted. “I’ve seen how quiet Sephy’s drones can be, maybe if she has a few hovering overhead we can avoid any trouble outright. However from what you’ve described the militia have a habit of harassing innocent civilians. I’ll tell you now, I won’t stand by and let that happen if they try something like that around me. How strong are they if things go to shit?”
“There were several infrequent patrols between two to five guards last time I was there.” Zayle recalled as she filled another teapot and offered everyone drinks, which both Jack and Nika happily took. “Though many times they were drunk or high on something and didn’t really do much.”
“Maybe just keeping up appearances.” Nika reasoned. “Or just taking an easy job for easy pay before their employer either dies or cuts and runs with what they have. If they don’t live in the community they don’t have any motivation to act like proper guards.”
“They may also get the idea to take it for themselves if they’re able to and the Laird isn’t able to rein them in.” Jack speculated. “He seems like a poor leader, though I can’t tell if it’s from malice or just plain stupidity. How did he claim the territory in the first place?”
“Both malice and stupidity I think.” Zayle shrugged. “And he was next in the chain of command when the previous Laird and her chosen successor both apparently died to a Zorn raid. I think he was a clerk or a tax collector or something.”
“Makes sense why he’s not the best overall leader then.” Jack replied. “Okay. It sounds like a stealthy approach to your place will work as long as we detect and react to potential encounters quickly to avoid them, which will be very doable if we at the very least have Sephy and Chiyo along for the ride. Based on what you’ve told me we may be able to go today depending on how the others are feeling. It’s a risk but the situation over there could be played to our advantage if the militia is looking a certain way and we can sneak in and out right under their noses.”
“I agree.” Nika nodded with a grin. “You have a good mind for tactics.”
“Yeah.” Jack nodded in thought. “My main concern however is for your neighbours who haven’t left yet who may be caught in the storm. Some might be able to get out but there may also be those that are vulnerable and can’t leave unaided. The vault is optional, and I imagine Sephy would agree with you Zayle that we should try and hit it, but that might be a risk too far. We can entertain that idea when we get there, only if things go well.
“That’s fair.” Zayle conceded. “We can only do what we can, but we must be realistic about what we can do. We cannot save everyone over there.”
“We can only do our best.” Jack agreed. “Also I think I’m ready for breakfast now…”
Zayle quickly got to their feet, eager to throw herself into another task but Jack shook his head.
“No Zayle, you’ve already done a lot so sit down. I’m cooking, you need to take a chill pill. Nika, what do we have in stock?”
Jack admittedly had a limited number of recipes he could cook, but his father had decided he should know basic cooking skills at his age, and had Jack helping him with a few weekend family breakfasts they’d do to give his mother a break. Fortunately he confirmed that Zayle and Vanya were able to eat the simple meal he had planned as he counted several eggs, some prepared bacon-like equivalent they had that was suitable for nearly every species and the basic staples to make pancakes. He had no idea if it was officially called a Canadian or American breakfast or not and it didn’t really bother him. All Jack knew was that it was an easy dish to do for multiple people and he didn’t know many other recipes he could do. It would be the second morning in a row he would be making pancakes, so he resolved to try and find other simple recipes he would be able to learn. He knew he had a cooking class at school next week with Chiyo, so maybe he’d pick something up there or add a cookery book to the house shopping list?
As the smells of the hearty food wafted throughout the house, the others slowly appeared. Chiyo was first, having already been awake and meditating in the basement, lazily floating upwards and plonking herself on the sofa without too many words, except that the others that were able to were waking up, she was hungry and she couldn’t wait to eat what was cooking!
Sephy and Alora eventually joined them, with Nika and Zayle clueing them in on what their likely plans would be for recovering Rayle and Zayle’s belongings.
“I could come along, but....” Alora began, though Nika shook her head and countered. “We’ve already discussed it. You know Clan Bharzum will need medics and I know how serious you are about your healer’s oath. I think a smaller group would be best for remaining undetected anyway, and even if things do get bad the opposition isn’t going to be anything near the Pallid Pit or the Klown attacks, which Sephy, Jack and Chiyo can handle. As much as I hate to say it I can’t come myself, but I can help coordinate from here via comms and keep an eye on Dante and Vanya at the same time.”
“Alright.” Alora nodded and finally agreed. “Shoot me a message when you head out. How long do you expect to be?”
“It’s a few hours travel from here to my place.” Zayle noted. “Though I calculate that by my usual route, I expect it to take longer to get there safely and silently. Plus we need to get my stuff but I know what I will do for that.”
“So let’s just say a few hours, assuming all goes well.” Jack shrugged. “How do you plan on getting the stuff out then?”
“Rayle and I managed to bind a powerful earth spirit that is currently residing there as part of our current Lodge, along with a few other more powerful ones.” Zayle grinned, looking proud. “It’ll be able to handle getting the stuff out of the district, and I’ll have the other spirits accompanying me until I can use them for something or need to dismiss them once I dispel the Lodge for good, since those ones are too powerful to bind to my astral field. I’ll need to recover as many of the reagents we used in the original construction as possible in order to more quickly rebuild here once we find a suitable space.”
Sephy, how many drones do you have available? Chiyo asked the Skritta, who shrugged.
“I can bring a few more than I did for the Oracle Run but I don’t want to take my whole stack. I was thinking of having a few camouflage observer drones hovering above nearby so we can see any danger before it sees us.” Sephy reasoned. “I don’t have any capable of shifting stuff but if you say your earth spirit at your home can do it, that’s on you.”
And Chiyo, you should be able to detect others lying in wait?” Jack asked.
Yes, unless they purposefully shield themselves as Svaartal did on our way back from the Oracle. However since we’re not expected, it’s extremely unlikely we’ll run into that problem. “Alright, then I guess I won’t need to be too worried if I offer my healing to Clan Bharzum.” Alora sighed. “I’ll head off as soon as I can then but I would like it if you kept me updated. I’ve got to say I’m surprised you’re taking being sidelined as well as you are Nika, it really isn’t like you.”
“That’s because I’m confident they can pull it off and Jack will keep everyone safe.” The Kizun shrugged. “Just don’t be too tempted to go for the vault if it’s too great a risk.”
“We’ll at least take a look and make sure we have a plan.” Jack shrugged. “From the sounds of it the Laird’s position is tenuous at best so if we don’t make the attempt others probably will, but if we do it we make sure we sort out anything else. If not, there’s apparently abandoned properties around that you can satisfy your kleptomania with Sephy.”
“I take offence to being called that!” Sephy replied in mock horror. “I am merely an entrepreneur seeking opportunities!”
“Don’t be in a rush to go though.” Alora warned. “I don’t want Vanya waking up and finding barely anyone here before we’ve explained what we’re planning for today.”
She’ll probably be another hour before she wakes. Chiyo informed her, and Alora simply nodded at that information in acknowledgement.
“We’re not in a rush.” Jack confirmed. “I think most of us are still tired so we’ll go once we’ve eaten and woken up a bit more. Maybe we can get there when it starts to get dark since I know Sephy’s drones will still be able to see anyway?”
“Good plan.” Nika nodded. “Although…Zayle, how does militia activity differ from day to night?”
“Uh…” Zayle thought. “The Laird wants more guards patrolling at night but in practice it doesn’t differ that much. It might actually be better since Rayle and I have seen guards goofing off when they think nobody is watching.”
“Alright, sounds good.” Jack nodded. “We’ll rest up and make our move in a few hours. Get ready.”

2023.03.30 20:03 Ok_Bullfrog_8491 Some Oddities in NoME – Celegorm and Caranthir, and Maedhros and Maglor
I came across two odd passages concerning the Sons of Fëanor in NoME that seem to contradict some fundamental elements of their characters and stories in the First Age.
Caranthir and Curufin in Nargothrond
In the chapter “The Founding of Nargothrond”, from 1969, it’s explicitly said that Caranthir and Curufin fled to Nargothrond after the Dagor Bragollach: “As when Curufin and Caranthir dwelt in the shelter of Nargothrond after the defeat of the Elves by Morgoth in the North.” (NoME, p. 304)
This is highly strange. The for nearly fifty years, it was Celegorm and Curufin who had been associated with Nargothrond, first as founders (cf HoME III, p. 65, with Christopher Tolkien’s commentary on p. 85–86). The element of Celegorm and Curufin in Nargothrond, with their usurpation of Finrod and capture of Lúthien, as well the story that Huan deserts Celegorm in favour of Lúthien, is a constant throughout Tolkien’s Legendarium writings: it’s in the Lay (cf HoME III, p. 216–217, 236–241), it’s in the Sketch (HoME IV, p. 23–27), it’s in the Quenta (HoME IV, p. 106, 109–110), it’s in the The Earliest Annals of Beleriand (HoME IV, p. 299–300), it’s in The Later Annals of Beleriand (HoME V, p. 132–133, 147), it’s in the Quenta (HoME V, p. 283), and it’s in The Grey Annals (HoME XI, p. 53–54, 62, 65–67).
And it has to be Celegorm in Nargothrond for the stories of Finrod’s quest with Beren and the capture of Lúthien to work: unmarried Celegorm (unlike Curufin and Caranthir, HoME XII, p. 318) who is such a powerful orator and persuasive personality, so much so that his skill as a speaker is compared to Fëanor’s – “Many wild and potent words he spoke,/and as before in Tûn awoke/his father’s voice their hearts to fire” (HoME III, p. 217) – the exact opposite of morose Caranthir who’s far more likely to explode in rage than to awake fire in the hearts of the people of Nargothrond with his speeches!
Maglor and the Eagles
In the chapter “Manwë’s Ban”, written in the last year of Tolkien’s life (NoME, p. 306), we are told this about the Eagles: “Their intervention in the story of Maelor, in the duel of Fingolfin and Melkor, in the rescue of Beren and Lúthien is well known.” (NoME, p. 308)
Of course the interventions of the Eagles in the stories of Fingolfin’s duel with Morgoth and the escape of Beren and Lúthien from Angband are well known.
But just what does “their intervention in the story of Maelor” refer to? Maglor (Maelor is a variant of Maglor, NoME, p. 309, fn. 6) is never associated with the Eagles in any other text that I’m aware of. But there is one Son of Fëanor who is closely associated with Thorondor: Maedhros.
The story of Fingon rescuing Maedhros from Thangorodrim with Thorondor’s help is very old, first appearing in the Sketch (HoME IV, p. 23), and a pivotal moment in the story of the Silmarillion: without Fingon’s rescue of Maedhros, the eldest Son of Fëanor and the only one with the authority to abdicate in favour of Fingolfin, the story of the Silmarillion would have been very different. The story of Fingon’s rescue of Maedhros – which I wrote in depth about recently – and the healing of the feud between the two hosts of the Noldor is as much of a constant as the story of Celegorm and Curufin in Nargothrond: it’s in the Sketch (HoME IV, p. 23), it’s in the Quenta (HoME IV, p. 102), it’s in the The Earliest Annals of Beleriand (HoME IV, p. 295), it’s in The Later Annals of Beleriand (HoME V, p. 126), it’s in the Quenta (HoME V, p. 251), and it’s in The Grey Annals (HoME XI, p. 31–32).
This story wouldn’t work if Fingon rescued Maglor: apart from it not being clear why Maglor, Fëanor’s second son, would be on Thangorodrim in the first place, Maglor being on Thangorodrim removes both of Fingon’s motivations for his daring rescue mission: his hope to heal the feud, which only works because he saved the one Son of Fëanor with the authority and strength of personality to actually do this, and their “ancient friendship” that “stung his heart” (The Silmarillion, p. 124).
Further Thoughts
I cannot decide which of the oddities is odder: Caranthir in Nargothrond of Maglor on Thangorodrim. What happened here? Are we to assume that in these texts, Celegorm and Maedhros somehow don’t exist, and that their roles in the story were taken by Caranthir and Maglor?

2023.03.30 20:01 CartographerNo8846 32 [M4F] #Atlanta - taking applications for a spring fling
What I'm looking for is someone who wants to give/receive good morning/good night texts. Someone who understands that life gets in the way as well. Someone between the ages of 18-50 who wants to get to know me and create that spark. You can be located anywhere, but near the state of Georgia is preferable as it means we may eventually be able to meet up...but I have done this with people as far out as Europe and it was a lot of fun there too. Hopefully you can carry on a conversation, about anything is good. I do enjoy most things marvel/disney, science, sports, history, pretty much most nerd culture really...and am always down to learn new things.
I'm a dad to 2 wonderful kids and they take up most of my time as it is currently, but staggered schedules with the wife means I am free to communicate for most of the day. I hate leaving people on read, won't ghost you, and will probably make you accidentally laugh out loud during the first week or two. I do enjoy being outdoors or indoors...I'm happy either way. I'm a hell of a cook, I just moved back down to the area recently as I was up north for a while. I am emotionally available as I tend to find that it's hard to not develop some sort of feeling doing all of this.
I do hope to hear from you, otherwise best of luck in your search and thanks for reading.

2023.03.30 19:59 fromtheloin i'm not coming back
last night i was drinking and reading political+school shooting posts from other users. i was extremely upset by the nashville shooting, because it felt personal. days prior i was posting in response to a recent government policy banning children from receiving gender surgery, and weeks before that i was posting about how last month i was in myrtle beach trying to study law at an open enrollment christian college. which didn't end well, because the reverend in admissions stopped responding to my emails after i asked if he knew of any churches/church organizations in the area for employment. followed by another employee stating i might be accepted into the college sometime in summer or fall. when i paid the application fee it said i would receive a follow up acceptance email with my student ID, and i never received the email. when i asked about it no one answered my question, so i started getting a strong feeling they didn't want me at the college. regardless of it being open enrollment.
i was deeply offended and discouraged, because i was looking forward to using the school's agreement as motivation to make changes to my life. specifically, i was hoping to use the agreement as a source of inspiration to stop drinking alcohol and to be held accountable for meeting higher standards of conduct. i don't have the best history with the christian church, so it was shattering when i realized i may have been rejected by an open enrollment christian college. or that i wasn't rejected, but instead being given no definite timeline on when i would receive an acceptance email. clearly it doesn't take months to send someone an email verifying they have been accepted to the school, so i took it as they didn't want me studying.
then the shooting happened. it was like someone from the trans community did it just to hurt me for speaking out against children undergoing surgery. while also making it relatable to me not studying at a christian school. it doesn't mean it had anything to do with me; it was just eerily similar in those two ways. i've already been having issues with having so many life threatening experiences with black people, so i started focusing on that as well.
i've been realizing just how much i've been targeted by black people. i'm white, yet the first fight i ever got into was with a black kid in our neighborhood group of friends. then there was the black guy in oakland who tried robbing me at gunpoint. the black guy from civic center who tried attacking me for walking away as i was rolling a blunt. the black prosecutor from florida who for years asked the court to impose an illegal prison sentence when legally i could only be sentenced to a maximum of one year in county jail. leading to me becoming a felon because i drove my own child out of state during a hurricane and tried keeping my child in another state. the black guy at one of my jobs who i got into a fight with for threatening violence. then the other black guy who targeted me on the streets for no reason. leading to me getting into a serious fight and losing another job from not being able to use my arm.
now i'm having serious issues being around black people, because i know sometimes they will attack a white person who has been into fights with other black people. all of these black people attacked me; i was not the aggressor in any of the situations. yet it doesn't matter, because someone will commit violence anyways just for the sake of doing it.
i'm genuinely disturbed by the fact i am a white person who was made a felon by a black state attorney and that now i do not have the same civil rights as other citizens. in addition to the numerous acts of violence committed against me by other black people. i have no idea where to live or if i can feel safe being around others from the black community, and i don't know if some of them are looking for me in retaliation.
it literally caused me to think i should be a black gang member who is white. or that i already am one without realizing it. that is not who i am, and it's like mentally i am f*d up in the head and starting to think i'm black. when i'm not. or am i? and now i made it worse by going online and talking sh* about it. saying i'm my own gang black gang member. so on top of everything else i don't know if people were stalking my account and want to harm me. honestly i do not believe i should be around black people for the rest of my life, which isn't something i have ever strived for in the past. now everywhere i go i will be paranoid about being attacked by a black person. or a white person hired by a black person to make it look like someone else did it. this is my current situation as i sit here. trying to think of where to go that may be safe.
is this even something you can get help for? how would i explain this to a medical professional. i'm picturing myself in the near future in some random area of the country by myself and paranoid af about people coming to get me, yet they have been coming to get me, so what good is getting back on abilify or other drugs. especially after i haven't taken the meds since i walked out of jail in 2019.

This picture was posted on the NEIGHBOR app for the Ring the Doorbell thing? Neither of know how this works. Nef has never escaped before! Any NEIGHBORS able to message me and help me figure out how to contact this person? Neither of us is sure of the app, but the picture is 100% Nef. His little paw is so dirty :-( I'm scared to post more then this single image of the person's back, for privacy sake, but I pray they forgive us if it means Nef is found and brought home. I hope this angel on Earth can find us! Can
pets help?
Nef is a great cat, our mom got Nef for my sister when she was a teenager and HE is the last living link to our mom who died in 2018. Please, Nef is so loved by our entire family. We are so grateful that someone found him and hopefully is keeping him safe until we can be reunited. He is not chipped, he is fixed, 10 years old, was not wearing a collar (doesn't like them), he knows a few tricks and we have 1000's of pictures as proof he belongs with our family.
Nef is a GOOD BOI, the BEST BOI. He is my sister's heart and soul and everyone is hurting so badly. My sister has only us siblings and her pets left in her life now. She's already had a tough time in life-- Nef is literally her greatest gift and being happy with him has given her purpose in the darkest times, including right now.
Here are some pictures of the good Boi, love him so much. I'm hoping i'll be able to kiss and noggin' him soon. PM me if you have questions or information that is sensitive that you don't want to share publicly. Any tips or help would be so kind and wonderful.
In thanks I promise to add even more photos of Nef and some videos of mine as well. If you have any information or are tempted by the devilish cuteness of Nef overload imagery-- then please help. Thank you

2023.03.30 19:58 CartographerNo8846 32 [M4F] #Atlanta - taking applications for a spring fling

2023.03.30 19:56 DotBeautiful2352 I'm not sure what to do next in my relationship
Hi. I'm new here and I know this is highly used as an advice blog for people. I figured I'd tell my story because at this point I'm at a loss and could use some input, preferably non bias. I apologize for this being so lengthy.
I (32F) have been dating my boyfriend (40M) for nearly 2 years. We have a great relationship and we are very compatible. I love him so much and hes been nothing but good to me. When we first started dating, we agreed to take things slow and not rush into anything. We decided we would hold off on introducing our kids until about a year into dating. I have 2 kids, a 12 year old girl and an 8 year old boy. They have separate fathers. I have split custody with my daughters dad and my sons dad is not involved. My bf has one 11 year old son with his ex wife, they too have split custody. We agreed to only have our sons meet, because as of right now I am currently going through a custody dispute with my daughters dad. I filed for primary against him for multiple reasons. We felt we should have my daughter meet my bf until after my custody trial and the dust has settled.
I have a very messy history with my daughters dad. We have been in and out of court many times over the past 10+ years since we split , a lot of it because he has made false accusations against me as a mother. I've had CPS at my door 3 separate times now because he repeatably alleges I'm this abusive, unfit mother when him and I are butting heads. All of these accusations were dropped and unfounded. He is extremely vindictive and has slandered me in court over and over. My life has been a living hell because of him, and he has manipulated my daughter into thinking he's this awesome parent and I'm the bad guy. He's coerced my daughter into keeping secrets for him and lying for him. It's an absolute nightmare and it one of several reasons I filed for primary. She doesn't realize his horrible and narcissistic behavior because he has her wrapped so tight around his finger. He even went as far as falsely accusing my last boyfriend of abusing my children and getting him involved when he did absolutely nothing wrong, eventually that relationship ended but not for that reason. It's a control issue for sure and I believe her dad is intimidated by my daughter forming any type of bond with a man other than him. He wants her all to himself. Which is unfair, because I never gave him a hard time about girls he's dated. I told him as long has they're decent people , not on drugs and treat my daughter well, I don't care who hes with. I am not that territorial baby mama. This just skims the surface of all the horrible shit he's put me through over the years. After I filed for primary, he filed an emergency petition against me claiming I'm emotionally and physically abusing my daughter. Not sure how this petition was granted but eventually after not seeing her for 15 days, I went to court with my attorney and everything was fixed and his petition was thrown out due to lack of evidence. My trial is in 2 months and it's been torture waiting on this day to come. It's been put on hold for months because the court system is pushed back due to covid and my lawyer also had to extend the trial because he had to go out on medical leave for a bit.
So back to the topic of me and my bf. We decided to keep my daughter out of the picture for now until after court. But we had our sons get acquainted and things seemed to be going well. We were spending a lot more time together over the summer and we were making progress in our relationship. I was really happy about this. But then it seemed like things came to a halt, and we stopped doing things as a family and just reverted back to only seeing each other on weekends he doesn't have his son. We live 40 minutes away from each other, so it's hard to spend time together with our kids schedules and work schedules. I see him a few times a month tops. it sucks but I love him and I've tried my best to make this relationship work. We text and talk everyday.
Recently, I confronted him and asked him why we haven't spent any time together with the kids. I told him I felt he has no desire to grow as a family unit and I wanted to know whats up, being that we've been together almost 2 years. He confessed the reason he hasn't wanted to engage the kids is because he is nervous about my daughters dad. He says he's afraid that when we introduce my daughter, her dad is gonna go A wall and accuse him of abuse like he did with my ex. I didn't understand where this was coming from, because I had been very open with him from day 1 about both of my kids fathers and my history with them. I told him everything he deserved to know. But then he told me that about 2 months ago he had talked with his lawyer and asked for advice on the situation and what he should do if my ex should ever tried to pull a stunt like with the last guy. His lawyer flat out told him to end things with me and that there's nothing protecting him and those kind of accusations could ruin is custody arrangement with his son and even his job position. She basically told him hes risking everything if he moves forward with me and he's in for a world of trouble. He has also discussed this matter with friends, family and colleagues who have gone through similar issues.
I'm crushed, I went into this relationship wanting to settle down. I told him from the door I wanted a family and marriage. He said he wanted that too, but now that he's been given this advice, he's basically telling me that right now he cant give that to me cause he feels he's at risk. He says he doesn't know what to do. I asked him, so what are we supposed to do, just not engage our kids and keep only seeing each other a few times a month? I understand his perspective, but what makes this hard is that he's coming to this decision 2 years in. I'm fully invested in this relationship and he just unloads this on me. It's not fair, I cant just be happy and have a good relationship with someone because my daughters dad is unhinged and his behavior is unpredictable. How is it right for someone to have that kind of control over my life and the person I'm involved with. Please don't judge me, I know I picked the people I had my kids with and can't change that now. I've been bearing the cross of my choices for years and I'm trying to make things right and do right by my kids. I'm just so down about this and feel so guilty for pushing people away with the baggage I bring. What should I tell my bf?

2023.03.30 19:53 hraath Brand new Spector Legend 5 Standard review of quality control
The bass arrived in the mail adequately packed in the usual double cardboard box. Electrically everything works, and in the first 5 minute lookover all was good. After getting familiar with it over a couple hours here's the things I found.
- Neck relief and nut height were both correct.
- Body and headstock finish was good with no blemishes.
- Nut is a hair too wide, protrudes off the treble side of the neck by about 0.5 mm. Not much, but you can easily feel it
- One high fret under one or two strings, the D,G string action was set super high to hide this, about 2.75 mm @ 12th fret. I prefer about 2 mm on the G (which is pretty normal medium-low).
- Fret ends had been re-dressed (by Korg QC?) but they didn't do a tidy job. A few file teeth marks and the like, mostly on the treble edge of the fretboard, so you wouldn't see it from playing position. Actually unsightly at the treble side of the high frets, its visible where they've filed and sanded in a couple directions, and gone through the clearcoat. Also visible glue leeching under the clear around the fret ends.
- One clear coat bubble on the treble side of the fretboard
- I'll just spot level the one fret and clean up the edges of the fretboard.
- Control cavity cover was oversized for the pocket, and jammed in there. I needed a hook to extract it and then sand it down to size.
- Polishing compound residue on the neck bolts and ferrules, and around control cavity
- The flat pocket for the bridge recess into the curved body is about 1 mm larger than the bridge off the tail end, so there is a gap at the back of the bridge. The wood under the bridge is not well finished, a rough CNC endmill finish with clear coat only, so I'll probably remove the bridge and smooth and darken it.
- Two of the pickup mounting screw heads were completely stripped, needing an extractor. One of these screws wasn't even cast properly and was missing threads, but the factory worker just yolo sent it with a power driver.
After checking the setup and bringing the action back to earth it feels pretty good to play. So I'll keep it and clean it up.
So its been maybe 16 years since I've bought a new in box instrument. I prefer used, but this time I wasn't finding anything like this anywhere near me, or any reasonable used deals (just Squier J's and P's as far as the eye could see, asking too much money). Also no Spector dealers within 24 hr drive of me, so I took a flyer on brand new.
I have two other Indonesian instruments (used). One is an excellent specimen, another is a total lemon I bought to practice repairwork on. None of the issues I mentioned are individual dealbreakers, but it feels like death by a thousand niggles. If I had spent 30 minutes in a brick and mortar shop, I probably would have passed on it or discussed with the owner if they could have it cleaned up at Spector's cost. Should I have just spent over 2x the money for a MIK Pulse II? Maybe.

2023.03.30 19:52 SouthernSapphic Everyone is doing the same things they bullied me for years ago
I nearly lost friends for liking Undertale, promised I'd never mention it again. Now everyone is pretending it's nostalgic instead of cringey dogshit.
I've always identified as asexual, but I'd seen enough blatant homophobia in the community that I said I wanted to distance myself from it. I never even said I wasn't ace anymore. My friends were mad at me for weeks and kept reminding me that "real people don't get to change their sexuality". One of them even posted shit about how he wanted to kill people who pretended to be asexual for clout.
I had to apologize over and over again. Now it's 2023 and the exact same friends are like "oh, it turns out that I was a repressed gay man!" "I'm bisexual and this is my girlfriend!". Like it's OK for them to change, I guess. I never actually changed and they still gave me shit for it.
I feel like I should be happy that it's suddenly OK to do these things, but I'm not. I'm angry. I learned to hate these things. It makes me mad that people like Undertale, or are allowed to be flexible with their labels. I liked Disney princess movies (sexist) and anime with problematic subplots and there were times people got so mad at me I wished I was dead for hurting them so deeply. Now everyone is like "nothing is perfect!" as they continue to play Bug Fables, a game they nearly dropped me for because there's a transphobic boss, even though they're the ones who recommend it to me.
I've been on my best behavior for years, and for what? I was a stupid piece of shit when I did those things. Why is OK for everyone else?

2023.03.30 19:51 batatac4 Yasuo support, can it work?
Hello summoners i hope you are having a good day!
I've been brainstorming about this the last few days, can yasuo work as a support in certain matchups? Maybe I think, here's why:
Either the Ad support item or relic shield could work, i'm personally more inclined for relic shield to help push for lvl 2 faster, and because you can use your Q to get relics and prepare the tornado.
Then we have yasuo's kit,
It has great mobility and engage potential through E, although potentially telegraphed,
He has self peel through his passive, and the ability to be really gold efficient, items like shieldbow and IE are expensive, but due to the recent changes yasuo basically just needs those 2 items to get nearly 100% CRIT chance and extra damage, however perhaps a different build could work better and I'll talk about it soon.
On his Q we have a good lvl 1 skill with pontential for very good trades and poke in line if the yasuo is competent in landing the Qs
The main selling point for me is his W, it's probably the single best ability any support could have.
As for the best ADC to go with him? It has to be kalista, the all in potential of kalista R yasuo, into his own R is just too good to pass!
For the build, i think probably the best option is lethality, with lucidity or mobility boots for roaming, and perhaps some coordination with the Jungler to leave skuttle so yasuo can stack his Qs on the way mid, and duskblade or prowlers, he wave a lot of move speed and ability haste as well as damage against squishys.
Then with collector and Lord Dominic's/mortal reminder if we need anti heal, yasuo can still have a lot of damage/armor pen and 80% crit chance, and since he is a melee an umblal glaive wouldn't hurt as well.
So with boots and these 3 items + support item we have one last slot, that is highly situational but ideally I'd think of phantom dancer, it gives the last bit of crit, more move speed and attack speed which is always helpful, IE could also be an option.
What's the game plan? Play safe early, trying to go all in only when the time is right for kills, roam if possible, try to get mythic and boots ASAP.
After that the objective is to stack more damage and ability haste thought the game to get that W CD as low as possible, in team fights you should be covering your team with as much Ws as possible, stack your Q in something and all in one carry with tornado R burst, it's worth to trade your life for a carry life, and duskblade invisibilty allows you to maybe get out, and you can use your E through the enemies to try and get back to your team, but that may be hard to pull off, if you use prowlers the plan is similar but i don't think the range of prowlers activation is significant in a champ without invisibilty or some fast gap closer like pyke.
Since this is the plan, maybe navori's is something worth building allow W spam even harder and get the 100% crit chance.
Runes:
While press the attack or fleet footwork could be good during lane phase to get up or to put hurt the enemy adc, i think the best option might be half of blades, especially if you can do a lvl 1 cheese, or lethal tempo for more fight oriented lanes.
Hail of blades seems in theory the best idea, especially for team fights and isolated picks, something like Q 2 autos q auto tornado in picks, or tornado R in team fight and then the 3 hail of blades attacks with collector should he enought to burst a carry down
After that, and since I believe you'd wanna run oracle in yasuo, especially for lvl 1s, zombie ward or ghost poro if you take ward trinket, the heal rune, and bounty hunter.
For secondaries Triumph and coup de grace/cut down should be good or maybe magic boots and approach velocity/future market, or stone plating and revitalize with the heal rune.
Or maybe you scrap all of this and go into some weird stuff like iceborn with Q slows and tank, and become general nuisance to the enemy team while peeling for your with W, but that seems a little too out there idk.
For summoners exhaust might be the better option in general, but i feel like in certain matchups ignite can be a good option.
What you all think?

2023.03.30 19:51 Thedailybee Thriving wellness center
I decided I do want to go through with a formal dx for my own validation. I don’t work a job where I would need any paperwork for accommodations nor do I plan to ever do so. I’m also not in school so really it is just for myself and I don’t need more than a brief letter of confirmation. I know self dx is accepted by a lot of the community but I don’t think I will ever feel fully confident. I probably won’t with a professional dx either to be fair but at least I’ll have a silly little letter from a professional to reassure me.
Anyways, since I don’t need a big report nor do I want it to wind up on my records (not bc shame but bc discrimination 🤪 I’d love to tell the world but the world would throw it right back in my face), I was hesitant. The one woman I liked near me, I honestly didn’t enjoy talking to her on the phone - it felt like she was trying to sell me on spending 1600+ on a dx even though I explained I didn’t need a full report and that this is just for me and a brief letter would be fine. Then I came across the sach center in NY and researching that led me to thriving wellness center. I liked that one best because it didn’t ask for payment immediately and I saw two good experiences there. I made an appointment and I’m very excited but also nervous.
Wondering if there’s anyone else here who has gone through either center and wouldn’t mind sharing their experience while I anxiously await my appointment??

2023.03.30 19:50 AdNeither9520 Is it normal to feel heart break years after?
I met this wonderful women. We met in 2015 we were on and off out of each others life until 2018 was my best life change, she came out of no where again. It was always right person wrong time. Our relationship had its ups and down 2020 was a hard year. Staying home actually did us good but when everything opened back up and we went back to work it was arguments over little things. I had a rough past she knew about it. but with her I saw everything I never cheated on her. I thought she was everything for me. She wanted marriage but I wanted to get a house and not rent anymore before that change. We ended up breaking up may 2020 over me getting way too emotional I felt like she just wanted to constantly control me. She did hit me in the past but I forgave her because I love her more then anything in the world. I know it was toxic. August 2020 we met up again to talk she already had met someone else but wanted to fix what we had and she told me not to worry about the other person. I felt like I was home I was beyond happy. However I felt something off I was trying so hard with the effort to fix it I knew in my heart she was hiding something. Jan 2021 She said she wanted to go find herself and I accepted it. However 2 days after that in 2021 I found out she went back to the other person and my emotions got the best of me and I destroyed the apartment. It’s been years since we spoke I dream about her all the time and I hear she still talks about me. I truly believe she’s my soulmate. If I could go back with what I know now and with how much I’ve grown I know we would be amazing. I’d marry her right on the spot give her everything. It’s been years and I still feel like everything happened yesterday. I dance in my living room with a pillow pretending it’s her when I close my eyes cause we used to dance all the time. How do I get over her and move forward. I feel like I’m driving myself crazy when she’s constantly on my mind. Not a day goes by I don’t think of her and I nearly cry every single day. I don’t know how much more of this depression I can take. I dissociate a lot then wake up randomly with her not here. Please give advice cause I’m hanging on by a thread. I’ve already checked in before and went to meetings to keep going. I just want her here. Start over again.

2023.03.30 19:49 SpookyCatLime But the wedding dress was mine to keep, not part of the "collection"
https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/relationships/4774446-family-dishonesty-db-and-sil Family dishonesty (DB and SIL) 7 replies Eleano · Today 13:55
Dear Mumsnet,
Me and my DH had the most amazing wedding. Everything went smoothly except for one thing.
My wedding dress had been promised to me as a gift to keep by my brother's DP and her DM who own a bridal boutique.
This gift which was announced at the time of our engagement over a year and a half ago, was above and beyond my expectations and I was very grateful for it. It was the reason that I was willing to travel to another country where the boutique is based for the fittings and collection. In fact, I travelled for the final fitting and collection just one week before my wedding which was quite stressful.
But all of that didn't matter because I was still really grateful that it was a gift and was willing to put in the extra effort.
On the day of the collection however, when the dress had just been packed into my suitcase, they mentioned in passing that my brother's GF would be taking the dress back with her after the wedding, as though that had been the agreement all along. I didn't react immediately because I was too shocked and because I wanted to doublecheck correspondence and see that they had indeed gifted it to me.
Sure enough when I checked my phone later I found the message where my brother’s GF had announced that her and her DM had decided to gift me a wedding dress to keep because they consider me to be family. I have a screenshot of that. At this point I still didn’t say anything to not create drama just before the wedding.
It’s also worth mentioning that the DM of my brother’s GF (owner of the boutique and designer of the dresses) had imposed specific demands on me regarding photography and social media promotion for the boutique and still wants me to keep that side of the deal. Additionally, just before I left for the airport to return home the next day, my brother’s GF asked me if I would agree to post the dress back instead so that her luggage wouldn’t be increased and pay for the postage because her family wouldn’t be willing to. That is when I discretely said that I hadn’t budgeted for that cost because the dress had originally been gifted and she replied that she didn’t remember what had been agreed and in any case the dress was part of the new collection so couldn’t be gifted. Funnily enough, I remember clearly a few months before when I asked which collection the dress belonged to that they told me it was part of an old collection they couldn’t even remember. But that is irrelevant since even if it was true they should’ve told me at the time when I selected the dress over a year ago.
As soon as I parted from them I was able to cry the tears I had been holding back which were tears of sadness and anger since I realised that nobody - not even my brother or his GF had my back to tell me the dress had been ungifted and just be open and transparent with me instead of pretending they don’t remember or that it was part of the wrong collection.
The money I paid for the flights had exceeded the cost of hiring a wedding dress in my own country which would have been much easier for me to do. And the stress of travelling just one week before my wedding when I should’ve been at home doing so many other jobs can’t be measured.
It is now nearly one week after the wedding and I haven’t mentioned anything about it yet as I wanted the bubble of the wedding to pass and not taint it with this drama. However, my brother’s GF’s sister who works at the boutique is already questioning why I’m not tagging the brand on a few Instagram posts I reposted from my suppliers and has also today reminded me that they want me to improve their website.
Because of this pushiness and the fact that my brother himself reached out on her behalf to question why I wasn’t doing a better job of promoting the brand on my social media, I feel it is time to address the elephant in the room.
I am almost certain that they aren’t expecting me to say anything because they think I won’t want to rock the boat which is also why they did it in the first place.
My brother has been dishonest in the past too, having taken money from an account which was set up for a family project and using it for his own needs (he apologised after I pushed him to) and I’m pretty sure he’s been dishonest about many other things as well.
His values which are very different to mine make him think that it’s not a bad thing to lie and he seems to think that he gets away with it and nobody notices his dishonesty.
His GF is the same and together they feel they are a power couple - they are very domineering and competitive in group situations.
Me and my DH are down to earth people that don’t like conflict so we have never clashed with them but this seems like a step too far and I’m determined to at least get an honest explanation if I’m to continue having anything to do with them.
I have messaged my brother and asked him to call me to speak privately but he has said that he would rather I just text him because he’s busy. I know that he won’t call me even though I said that a text message wasn’t appropriate for this conversation.
Therefore, my plan is to text him about it and include the screenshot which proves that it had been gifted to me and end by saying that I expect an explanation at the very least especially if the boutique is expecting me to be sharing photographs from the wedding with them.
It is very disappointing because I did think that my relationship with my brother and his GF was improving since they were very excited about the wedding.

P.P.S: DB and his GF are keen to keep in touch and spend Easter together since they've been left feeling emotional about our newly extended family after the wedding, a sentiment I want to share with them but this situation is holding me back. Trying to figure out how to broach the subject now that they're being so nice. GF has been messaging me about every day trivial things too like we're best friends.

I don't think they are keen to keep in touch. They're just keen to say they are.
Easter is way too soon after your wedding, I think they're testing your boundaries. It's time to start saying no.
@tribpot that is SO interesting because I had a suspicion they were trying to bring us back down to earth in people's eyes after the wedding by spending Easter with them (because they are used to being the centre of attention and we were the centre due to the wedding) which sounds weird but it's similar to what you're saying. So much so that my brother said he would pay money towards our flights which is VERY unlike him. Why are some people like this? Hell bent on being on top? Confused

So now you're also planning on accepting money towards flights from a couple you're not particularly fond of? Seriously, is this a joke? Where will you be staying? Let me guess. In their home abroad, free of charge? Tell them you're busy enjoying time alone as a newly married couple. And perhaps it might be a good idea to actually spend some time enjoying being a newly married couple rather than obsessing about your DB' and his girlfriend.
Who said I would accept? And no you guessed wrong.

Fans of paranormal phenomena will feel at home in this Georgian city, where "ghosts" are everywhere. Grand Canyon There are no words to describe how impressive the Grand Canyon is. The extent of its length exceeds 440 km and its chilling abysses exceed 1,600 meters. 2023.03.30 19:44 L00king4something 34 [M4F] #NYC A Human Vibrator!
Using your fingers or even a vibrator can get tiresome. Toys are made to imitate the mouth in so many ways, whether its the sucking experience on your clit, or the vibrating all over - there is nothing you could compare to a real vibrating tongue with lips that will suck on your clit until you run out of orgasms!
Lets make this into an orgasmic experience where pillow princesses are treated the way they deserve to be - your head on the pillow, my face between your sexy thighs.
You will not give me a blowjob, let alone us having sex.
You will just have your pussy eaten.
You will feel me run my fingers across your body, caress each and every sexy curve of yours as I trace with my fingers over your soft, smooth skin.
You will feel my firm grip around your sexy thighs and spread you wide open, exposing your soaking wet pussy.
You will feel my tongue running slowly over your sweet, intoxicating pussy - from your pulsating clit, all the way down to your sexy ass - experiencing my very first taste of you.
You will feel my lips wrapped around your pussy and start to gently suck, swallowing every little bit of your sweet juices.
You will have your thighs clamping down tightly around my head, as I gently work my tongue up inside your pussy, exploring all over.
You will feel my lips clamp down over your pulsating clit, sucking it in as I trail my fingers along the outside of your pussy, making my way slowly inside you.
You will feel two of my fingers inside you as I hear your sudden gasp with pleasure, while I slowly continue until I am knuckles deep inside you.
You will feel my 2 fingers curve up deep inside you as I find your G-spot and hit it over and over again, while my tongue is attacking your clit from every direction.
You will feel your pussy drenching my cheeks with your sweet juices as I suck harder and harder and hit your G-spot with my fingers faster and harder as your moans of pleasure fill the room and bounce off the walls, while your knees tighten around my head and the impending sensation of your explosive orgasm continues to build.
You will feel me holding down your squirming body in place and keep sucking as you scream, your back arching and your hips rising as the overwhelming sensation of an orgasm finally hitting.
You will feel your pussy contract and clench my fingers as your body begins to shake. Your trembling hands tightly grasping the bed sheets for support, as warm tingly waves of pleasure surge all across your sexy glistening body.
You will feel your eyes roll back as you buck and ride every orgasmic wave. Quivering and shaking as your pussy squirts and spasms, your mind completely lost in the overwhelming tingling sensations coursing through you.
You will feel yourself collapse into my arms, breathing heavily, as a post-orgasm wave of blissful relaxation overtakes you. Bringing my drenched fingers to my mouth, I will lick up every last drop of your juices and place my palm on your back, bringing you closer to me.
Then I want you to close your eyes and get your rest. Because I’m going to be sucking the juices out of you for the rest of the night.
Location:
I live NYC and would prefer someone near me, but open anywhere in the US as I travel frequently for work, so feel free to hit me up if you’re in another part of the US.
Me:
I'm a 34 year old, white, athletic/muscular, 5’11’’, with dark brown haieyes. I’m DDF (I get tested frequently, so I need you to be clean as well). I’m funny, friendly, and love to chat with people, so I’m sure we will have great non-sexual conversations as well. I will send pics of myself after we message for a bit.
You:
Aged 21 - 40. DDF. I absolutely love voluptuous women, but I am also very down for petite women.
Like I said above, I don’t want sex nor any reciprocation. I just want to dine on your pussy and give you the best orgasmic evening of your life.
