(one of my earliest attempts at writing. decided to just finish and post it. apologies.)
Entry Log One: Khrakhan Eld, Jukhanian Ambassador to the Human Alliance. Stardate - Human Year 2086.
It has been over three centuries since I accepted this commission to work with the Human Alliance, and even though I have known them for that long, they still surprise me to a shocking extent. A highly diverse species with so many different cultures congealed into one staggering mass of a hundred billion strong, settled alongside all the galaxy's different species.
Humanity was, and still remains, the driving force behind the rapidly growing Federations power and might. The strange, gaunt, high gravity race of bipedal apes took the galaxy by complete surprise, not only due to their appearance, but also due to their surprising strength.
In barely forty years of their time here, they have integrated seamlessly with species previously thought inhospitable. Planets thought harsh or unuseable, supported massive colonies of millions of humans, and the richness the industries these worlds provide. Humans, as it later turned out, had an affinity for members of other species, and by staggering luck they had a one-in-a-billion reproductive system that was robust enough that they could actually interbreed with most mammalian species in the galaxy, and one or two of the reptillians as well.
Humanity's capabilities in terms of engineering surpassed ours in a matter of decades, and due to the terms of the Federation, they shared it with us. This is primarily due to the tribal nature of the race, and they are well known for their petty squabbles and minor disputes, that result in skirmishes or outright wars, but would never come to full scale attacks. Maybe a warning shot or two, a small exchange of fire to disable shield arrays, but never more than that.
When questioned about these incidents, Human ambassadors and leaders would simply say something on the lines of:
"Meh. Local tensions. Pirates. Idiots. God botherers or Idealists that randomly decide to slug it out one day. Just ignore them, they run out of steam eventually and bugger off back to where they came from."
We really cared not. Owing to how the humans never turned their guns on us, we were fine with it, so long as they never got us involved. Everything about the humans confused and amazed us. They had, during First Contact Exchanges, given us reels upon reels of their historical archives. And what we had now was essentially a marginally watered down version of what humanity once was.
Hardened like a battleship hull.

Entry Log Two: Human Expansion
Owing to their ability to breed with a majority of the species in the galaxy, Human society, cultures and customs became part and parcel of the Federations species, almost to the point where we started getting cults forming in small pockets on the outer rims worshipping this aspect. Humanity, surprisingly enough, even though they technically were the deity being worshipped by these cults, were the first ones to clamp down on them, disbanding or outright attacking them.
Humans retained a lot of their individual national cultures long after their arrival into space. Many of their soldiers still carried blades, swords, knives and other such primitive weapons, weapons that most members of the galactic species considered worthless, or obsolete. But humans wielded these weapons to devastating effect, as witnessed in a few incidents and military conflicts seen during their short time in the Federation.
Technological advancement in terms of military and civilian development outstretched the rest of the galaxy by - to quote an expression - "a Country Mile." Human creativity and the natural drive for both an Omnivorous species' capacity for greed, and the species natural curiosity drove them to accomplish tasks and tech we never would have imagined. Humans and their concept of "Percussive Maintenance", or smack it 'til it worked was also something that took us by surprise. Especially considering that most of the time it actually worked.
For a few decades, a long time in human years apparently, we simply took it at face value, and never questioned it. As the expression goes: "Never look a gift horse in the mouth."

Entry Log Three: Capacity for Evil
They were not complete angels and paragons of course, Many a time, more than other races especially during the early years, they were extremely aggressive in their colonization efforts, going to active war with many nations over territorial disputes, corporate conflicts or other such disputes. Either they would win by a bare margin, or they would be routed and sent off in pieces.
One such occasion was the Tabrisko Incident, where, from what I could discern, was a human Corporation, a private entity separate from the Alliance and the Federation, known as Cybratech Industries, had laid claim to a particular star system. A star system, already settled by its current inhabitants the Hasaki Triumvirate. It was here that humanity showed its capacity for callous greed, and why so much emphasis is placed in society on the rejection of Corporate ideals. It also showed us a modicum mof respectability. When someone was being a dick... they had no trouble fucking them.
The Corporation, or simply 'Corpos' gathered a fleet of about forty ships, two of them cruisers and one Ark ship. They proceeded, without orders to bypass most security legislation, bribing their way across the galaxy and arrived in the system of Tabrisko. Two terrestrial planets, one Oceanic planet in the habitable zone, one Gas giant, two Ice planets and one newborn Molten planet. An unremarkable system by all accounts, there were thousands just like it throughout the galaxy.
The Corpos warped in and sent out a mass broadcast. "This is a public declaration. On behalf of the CybraTech Corporation, your occupation of this star system is now null and void. You will evacuate from the area immediately. You have a standard week to respond."
The sheer bastarding balls of them. A human representative was contacted and informed of the situation.
The human Ambassador, a gaunt, tall white haired gent by the name of Harley Alride, had a sneaky, unmistakable grin on his face as he spoke to the ambassador from the Hasaki Triumvirate. "So... what exactly is the issue here?"
The Hasaki Ambassador, Sings-On-Shores, was by no means amused. The lizard like reptilians blue scales flared in anger as he spoke back. "For the third time, we have a human fleet calling itself the Cybratech Corporation demanding that we surrender one of our colony worlds! I demand an explanation!"
Harley simply let out a chuckle, as if he was suppressing the desire to laugh. "Oh? Corpo rats huh? Well they are a private entity. There's nothing we can do to stop you, or them."
Sings-On-Shores was somewhat confused, but more upset and angry. "What? WHAT!?"
Harley simply said, that typical sly, 'I am up to something sneaky' grin on his face that we had become so accustomed to seeing. "What I am saying Ambassador is... That whatever you decide to do with them is entirely your decision."
Sings-On-Shores was astonished. This situation was a full invasion by galactic standards, it was the equivalent of a declaration of war. "But... They are your people! You speak for them!"
Harley's smile disappeared and his demeanor changed to one of seriousness. "Mister Ambassador with all due respect, need I remind you of Federation Colonization legislation number Seven Five Eight, Paragraph three? I quote: 'The first claimant to any star system that has the capacity to maintain any industry on that planet, has full and absolute control of its industry and inevitably, it's defense, is the sole and exclusive claimant to that star system.'" Harley said, and looked at his counterpart.
"Of course I remember the damn legislation! I helped sign that into law a hundred years ago! What the hell are you talking about!?" Sings-On-Shores demanded, his scales flustering between breaths.
"What I am saying, Sir, is that Private entities known as Corporations and other private entities can form OUTSIDE of the Alliances jurisdiction. They can get rich, get an ego the size of a cargo freighter and then suddenly decide 'I am god now, I can do what I want.' and go on a rampage. We allow it, for reasons that should be obvious. We do however... DISAVOW." Harleys last word in that statement took the Hasaki Ambassador by surprise.
"Disavow... wh-?" The entire concept for the Hasaki of private corporations operating outside of jurisdiction was as much a foreign concept to him as could be imagined.
"We allow these entities to buy their own fleets, set up shop and do what they do. they return to the Alliance eventually one way or another, Its just business. But sometimes... the rich and wealthy develop a god complex. And it is up to the normal people in the galaxy to remind them of what they really are. Lest they do stupid things." Harley responded. He looked into the monitor, and visibly closed one of his eyes in a cheeky manner, with his smile returned.
Sings-On-Shores went silent for a moment. As if processing the information. "Understood, Ambassador."
"One more thing..." Harley said. His demeanor shifted again, to a dead serious and absolute severity. "Do not fire on that Ark ship. Those people signed up for a new life, not an execution. There are children on board. We will see to it they get passage to a new colony world one way or another. But the corpo fleet? Heh... Enjoy the salvage."
Sings-On-Shores acknowledged with his own sinister grin, and closed the call.
A few hours later, a very heavily armed war fleet of the Triumvirate warped into the star system. Outnumbering and heavily outgunning the Corpo fleet. As expected, sensing danger the Ark ship immediately performed an FTL emergency jump, and vanished to the borders of the system where, a Human Alliance fleet was casually waiting for them. The corporate fleet was nothing short of obliterated by plasma cannons and heavy weapons fire from a Triumvirate dreadnought and its escorts. Nothing left but salvage and slag floating hopeless in the expanse where a salvage crew from the colony appeared and went to town.
Three thousand people were killed in that fight. Two Triumvirate ships were lost, totaling 600 losses, battleships no less. The rest were human losses. Corvettes, pickets, escort ships and mostly small low quality frigates crewed by 'Corporate drones' and contracted slave workers. As Harley said, 'nothing worth keeping.'
The human ambassadors and agents explained that rich corporations or other such entities would go mad with power, gather followers or create clone armies - highly illegal clone armies - and attempt to claim what they wanted. Human Alliance officers always knew what was going on, and made sure that one way or another, in a fair and balanced manner, they would always lose.
"In a fair and balanced manner." That sentence is almost always expressed with a certain sadistic glee.

Entry Four: Unbelievable Charity
This event is in stark contrast to the New Haven Incident that took place some twelve years later. Humanity was now at the forefront of Galactic politics and economics. New Haven was in fact a Bakari settlement and I had been called in to help them reinforce their trade position with the local area and help them along. I was in the orbital station garrisoning the colony when I heard the call to action.
The communications arrays suddenly exploded with SOS signals, emergency alerts and warnings of every kind as a staggering earthquake hit one of the continents. Seismologists put the quake on a massive eleven point four on the scale, enough to tilt the planets axis three degrees, open two new fault lines, slow the planets rotation speed by almost a full second and cause seven subsequent volcanic detonations across the tectonic plate.
Twenty nine cities were impacted and a hundred and fifty million lives were at stake. Before I could do anything however. A message interrupted all communications directed at the local garrison.
"Distress Signal Received. This is Alliance Fleet Sons Of The Dawn responding. Admiral Beckett Gray reporting. Request permission to enter Federation airspace."
I was on the bridge with the station captain helping him organize a response at this time, and without thinking, I immediately jumped on the communicator in a response. "This is federation Ambassador Khrakhan Eld responding, permission granted."
The station captain was somewhat annoyed with me. It was not exactly polite to supplant his authority. I was only an ambassador, so he scolded me for it. "How dare you do that! This is my station! You dare break with protocol like that!"
"Captain Sundaris please, this is an emergency situation." I responded, trying to stay calm.
Before however we could argue this point, a hundred dropships, cargo ships and two planetary cruisers blasted past the station making us jump in surprise as they whizzed past us. Moments later the massive hull of one of the Alliances two kilometer long Planetary Assault Carriers rumbled past the station, its sheer size and speed causing the windows and plating on the stations hull to rattle. Very few people outside the Alliance had seen one of these magnificent beasts, and as it slipped past us we got a glimpse as to exactly why.
A strange ship with a triangular or diamond shaped hull, hangar bays on the sides, heavy armor plating with dozens of shield generators dotted the meters thick armor plating. Weapons seen only on dreadnoughts or battleships lined its side hull under the bridge section and more small craft were being hastily ejected from its side mounted hangars. Its most terrifying component was what was mounted at the front - a Spinal mounted ion cannon. I could very clearly see a tell-tale sign of an emitter array barely sticking out the front end.
It entered the planets atmosphere flawlessly and we watched in awe as a full army of humans flooded out of the ships hull as it touched ground causing a puff of dust. Two more of these PAC class ships followed, then three more after that, and one more lagging behind with various cargo ships and drop transports seemingly welded to its outer hull followed, all within moments of each other. Two more smaller craft, known as Trade Frigates or Droid Frigates, ships whose superstructure is primarily consistent of communications arrays and antennae, appeared and entered the stations orbital patterns and began transmitting commands and orders, organizing the planets scattered and broken emergency signals.
The captain and I looked at each other, mouths agape at the sight we just witnessed. Not just one of them, but SEVEN? How many of them did humanity have!?
"One hundred and thirty four. And still counting." I heard a voice behind me say.
"Wh- Pardon?" I asked, now looking at a human Marine standing in the control room.
"That's how many of those ships we have. One hundred and thirty four by last count, with drydocks and shipyards in Alliance space working to produce another six hundred within the next ten years. As per our trade agreements, one hundred of those ships will be handed over to our allies and trade partners." He said with a smile, handing me a data pad.
He must have heard the voice in my head somehow, or he just simply knew what the question was, probably having been asked it a thousand times. "Erm... Uh... Th-Thank you uh..." I cleared my throat and straightened my shoulders, attempting to compose myself. "Carry on soldier. We will coordinate with your teams on the ground and translate what we can. Not everyone on the planet understands the Galactic standard language yet, so we will do our best. Patch us in to your commslink and we will assist where we can."
"Sir yes, Sir!" The human saluted, then immediately charged back out of the station. Moments later, a new group of humans appeared and without orders, began to redirect communications and show us bodycam footage from the ground.
What followed was the single largest and most grueling disaster relief campaign in seventy years. Twenty thousand ships. Two hundred million tons of medical supplies. Six hundred million tons of food and water. Two million humans working to save the lives of a hundred million people. Three and a half months of work.
After all was said and done, as many lives saved as possible, Human constructor fleets appeared with another surprise. They called them Manufactoriums, city sized ships with no armament or defense equipment, but cargo containers, construction drones and building hardware. Twenty two of them. It wasn't a ship in the traditional sense... to be honest it looked more like a children's block building set with giant engines. Big, fat, squared boxes with various patterns of armor plating mounted on a set of giant starship thrusters.
They landed on the planets surface and began to, for lack of a better term, unpack themselves. They landed, then a system of... i guess robots, started to unpack the blocky monster. Within hours, the ships had disappeared and turned into organized and perfected geometric patterns. They essentially made a prepackaged city and flew it out to act as a replacement for the city that was destroyed. Millions homeless, now almost instantly rehoused.
All the humans asked for in return was that we honor trade agreements and maintain the Alliance.

And so here we stand, many decades into the greatest and hopefully longest lasting friendship in history as Humanity rapidly carves itself into our hearts and our minds, with their increasingly erratic and interesting behavior. They are the only species in galactic history - that we are aware of anyway - to not immediately attempt to forge a galactic hegemony or engage in a genocide without due cause.
They are also one of extremely few species that everybody likes. Most like their presence or enjoy their company. Some simply ignore them. The few that don't like them are quick to change their minds when rescuers or negotiators arrive when a problem shows up.
Humans are here to stay. Hopefully for a damn long time.

Moments later the massive hull of one of the Alliances two kilometer long Planetary Assault Carriers rumbled past the station, its sheer size and speed causing the windows and plating on the stations hull to rattle. Very few people outside the Alliance had seen one of these magnificent beasts, and as it slipped past us we got a glimpse as to exactly why.
A strange ship with a triangular or diamond shaped hull, hangar bays on the sides, heavy armor plating with dozens of shield generators dotted the meters thick armor plating. Weapons seen only on dreadnoughts or battleships lined its side hull under the bridge section and more small craft were being hastily ejected from its side mounted hangars. Its most terrifying component was what was mounted at the front - a Spinal mounted ion cannon. I could very clearly see a tell-tale sign of an emitter array barely sticking out the front end.
It entered the planets atmosphere flawlessly and we watched in awe as a full army of humans flooded out of the ships hull as it touched ground causing a puff of dust. Two more of these PAC class ships followed, then three more after that, and one more lagging behind with various cargo ships and drop transports seemingly welded to its outer hull followed, all within moments of each other. Two more smaller craft, known as Trade Frigates or Droid Frigates, ships whose superstructure is primarily consistent of communications arrays and antennae, appeared and entered the stations orbital patterns and began transmitting commands and orders, organizing the planets scattered and broken emergency signals.
The captain and I looked at each other, mouths agape at the sight we just witnessed. Not just one of them, but SEVEN? How many of them did humanity have!?
"One hundred and thirty four. And still counting." I heard a voice behind me say.
"Wh- Pardon?" I asked, now looking at a human Marine standing in the control room.
"That's how many of those ships we have. One hundred and thirty four by last count, with drydocks and shipyards in Alliance space working to produce another six hundred within the next ten years. As per our trade agreements, one hundred of those ships will be handed over to our allies and trade partners." He said with a smile, handing me a data pad.
He must have heard the voice in my head somehow, or he just simply knew what the question was, probably having been asked it a thousand times. "Erm... Uh... Th-Thank you uh..." I cleared my throat and straightened my shoulders, attempting to compose myself. "Carry on soldier. We will coordinate with your teams on the ground and translate what we can. Not everyone on the planet understands the Galactic standard language yet, so we will do our best. Patch us in to your commslink and we will assist where we can."
"Sir yes, Sir!" The human saluted, then immediately charged back out of the station. Moments later, a new group of humans appeared and without orders, began to redirect communications and show us bodycam footage from the ground.
What followed was the single largest and most grueling disaster relief campaign in seventy years. Twenty thousand ships. Two hundred million tons of medical supplies. Six hundred million tons of food and water. Two million humans working to save the lives of a hundred million people. Three and a half months of work.
After all was said and done, as many lives saved as possible, Human constructor fleets appeared with another surprise. They called them Manufactoriums, city sized ships with no armament or defense equipment, but cargo containers, construction drones and building hardware. Twenty two of them. It wasn't a ship in the traditional sense... to be honest it looked more like a children's block building set with giant engines. Big, fat, squared boxes with various patterns of armor plating mounted on a set of giant starship thrusters.
They landed on the planets surface and began to, for lack of a better term, unpack themselves. They landed, then a system of... i guess robots, started to unpack the blocky monster. Within hours, the ships had disappeared and turned into organized and perfected geometric patterns. They essentially made a prepackaged city and flew it out to act as a replacement for the city that was destroyed. Millions homeless, now almost instantly rehoused.
All the humans asked for in return was that we honor trade agreements and maintain the Alliance.

And so here we stand, many decades into the greatest and hopefully longest lasting friendship in history as Humanity rapidly carves itself into our hearts and our minds, with their increasingly erratic and interesting behavior. They are the only species in galactic history - that we are aware of anyway - to not immediately attempt to forge a galactic hegemony or engage in a genocide without due cause.
They are also one of extremely few species that everybody likes. Most like their presence or enjoy their company. Some simply ignore them. The few that don't like them are quick to change their minds when rescuers or negotiators arrive when a problem shows up.
Humans are here to stay. Hopefully for a damn long time.

I brought my car to get an oil change at Firestone and they also did an inspection and recommended over $3,000 in repairs. A couple days later I went back to a different Firestone near my house and had them conduct two of the repairs (Rear brakes and tie rods). They completed the job around 7pm and were closing up shop. On the drive home I noticed the car was making rattling noises and shaking. I thought it could be because of the brakes needing to be broken in so I didn’t freak out too much.
The next day I decided to bring it in before going to work and have them make sure it was ok. I brought it in to a different shop because it was on my way to work. I was told they couldn’t look at it for 2 days because they had booked appointments. So I scheduled an appointment for two days from then. On the way to work it began to rattle and shake much worse. The car ended up braking down and the ABS light came on. The drivers side rear tire was smoking and tilt slightly to the side. Luckily I happened to break down at a small tire shop.
Before entering I called the original Firestone that I had the work done at and explained what happened. They told me to get it looked at and bring it straight to their Firestone and they’d reimburse me. I had the small tire shop mechanic take off the tire and immediately he noticed that there were no bolts through the brake pads and caliper. He also noticed the caliper was hanging off and the brake hose was unhooked. He told me that he didn’t have the replacement parts on hand. He told me that there was another Firestone a few blocks away and that he could remove the rear brake and caliper so that I could make it over there. I agreed to do this.
I took the car up the road to the other Firestone and they told me the exact same thing the earlier Firestone told me. They couldn’t take me for two days. I was in a tough spot and unsure what to do so I called my work and told them I wasn’t going to make it and drove 50 minutes to the original Firestone. From here I dropped off the vehicle and it was there for a week while they changed parts. They then called me and told me that the brakes no longer work at all and that the other tire shop messed up the vehicle. I explained that he didn’t because he didn’t change anything other than remove the damaged parts.
The Firestone eventually turned the vehicle over to a Ford dealership because they couldn’t figure out what was wrong with it. I was told that the vehicle would be turned over to claims. Within one hour of being at claims, I received a call and the guy stated that Firestone isn’t liable for the damage because the other shop worked on it. I explained that the initial damage was caused by Firestone and that they also agreed to work on it afterwards. They weren’t having it and just kept telling me that they aren’t liable and the other shop is at fault. After this I asked for a refund on my $1,200 in repairs. He made a phone call and they agreed to reimburse $500. I denied this offer because I felt that were attempting to wipe their hands of the entire situation.
This phone call took place over a month ago and this is the last time I spoke to anyone in Firestone claims on the issue. I have called and emailed everyday with no responses. I have contacted corporate daily and they have no solutions. The initial Firestone manager told me they are not liable and said it’s my problem now. I was told my file says “Case Closed: DO NOT REOPEN. The claims office did no research and immediately decided they weren’t liable. I didn’t even have an opportunity to explain the damage that happened to the vehicle prior to the other shop touching it. hello, I'm in Oregon. I pay every month for a parking permit to keep my car in the apartment parking complex. they give you a little sticker to display in your window. in my lease it says that it is my responsibility to make sure that the sticker is up to date.
my confusion is that the dates on the parking sticker do not line up with the academic calendar (I'm a student in apartment housing that is marketed towards students but not exclusively student housing), so I'm in the academic year of 22/23, but the parking pass term that we are in is apparently 23/24.
I received a warning on my car that my car was going to be towed. I called the office of the parking complex and told them about the warning, and the employee told me that warnings can be placed by mistake sometimes and that so long as the sticker has a certain number code on it, it will be fine and told me that if it was towed by mistake I would be reimbursed for the mistake. there was no mention of the color or appearance of the sticker beyond the number code.
I told the employee on the phone that I will go verify that my parking pass has number code on it and my pass did so I didn't think I was in any danger but my car was towed anyways. they are saying that my lease states that it is my responsibility to make sure that my pass is up to date and they will not be compensating me for my car being towed. do I have any right to compensation in a situation like this?

I got married last year, and my spouse is still going through the immigration process and therefore needs to fill out a W-7 Form for an ITIN.
Though I normally use Turbo Tax, they aren't able to file a W-7 on ones behalf. So we decided to file our taxes and W-7 with our local H&R Block, who is listed as a Certifying Acceptance Agent on the IRS website.
This was in late January.
Aside from the fact that our Master Tax Advisor told us that hadn't applied for an ITIN in several years (which was slightly concerning to hear), the appointment went perfectly fine. We were told the ITIN would delay the whole process, which is understandable.
A few weeks ago, we decided to reach out to find out the status, because the H&R Block website mentions nothing about the ITIN status, and only generically shows that the Taxes have not been filed yet.
After a couple unanswered emails I called the branch and was told that our Tax Advisor was dealing with personal issues and was no longer working in the office and was not taking new clients, but was still working from home on existing clients. I was told my message would be passed along.
Still didn't hear anything for a week, so I reached out the the 1-800 number and they were able to look at our file but couldn't tell what the status of our taxes/ITIN was and opened a ticket. On Monday of this week, I was called and emailed by the location manager, who assured me he'd get back to me by the end of the day and just re-iterated what was already known about the employee's situation.
Shocker, there was no follow up. I sent an email to the manager, with the district manager CC'd, recapping our phone conversation and requesting an update by COB yesterday. I did not receive a response.
As of this writing, I have been waiting over 3 weeks just to get an answer to the simple status updates on our ITIN submission/Tax Return. The fact that no one can tell me anything is extremely concerning. At best, this H&R Block branch has very poor communication. At worst, they have ineffective management, who did not support their employee dealing with a person issue, and thus have done nothing with our Taxes/ITIN.
I am assuming it is the latter. I tried to call the IRS to confirm what has been submitted, but their phone system seems to be automated right now, and I couldn't reach a human after multiple attempts.
So, our intention (barring any new developments) is to file out taxes with Turbo Tax, and then schedule an in person appointment with the IRS to file a W-7 form. I have no idea if this is the correct strategy and I have no idea who to ask, so I am asking Reddit. Any advice in this situation would be greatly appreciated!!!

I didn’t know who they were until they began requesting me on social media. (Note: I DO NOT add or accept people I do not know on social media). I deleted all the requests and the weird part happens. They keep sending so I block. Then, they make new profiles and I block. Then, they message my family and my friends asking for my address and phone number (obviously no one gives). They messaged me again and I gave them the benefit of the doubt and made it clear to leave me alone and to not contact me. They still did not listen so I decided to report them to HR at work and report them to the police. The officer told me to get a restraining order so that is exactly what I go and do the next morning because the court was already closed. They ended up getting fired and I am granted the restraining order, BUT it’s been 6 months later and this person will not leave me alone.
Now where I need advice: I am terrified. I don’t know what to do. I don’t want to leave my house. I don’t want to go to work. I don’t want to be alone. I am afraid for my life.
This person has showed up uninvited to my front door multiple times (they found my address online they told the officer) and arrested. However, they are only arrested a few hours and let go. The police say there is not much they can do and I am at a loss. This person creates new social media accounts to message me. They message me weird stuff; they’re very delusional and try to make it seem as if we are together. They say things like they will “never stop trying” and that they will “do whatever it takes.” I’m married and my S/O has confronted them. They said they will leave me alone but now you can tell they know our cars and knows our schedules. That’s the scariest part. They’re good at following us without us knowing.
I don’t know what to do. I have a therapist but just talking about it doesn’t help. Is there anyone else that has gone through this that can please give me advice on how to move on in life without being afraid or maybe help stop this psychopath?

The letter states I have until 4/10 to dispute it through a number of reasons. I was gonna wait until I spoke to legal aid but then I got a call from collections which brings me a number of questions from the conversation. I did ask them a bunch of questions that the letter had so I did check out that it was legit and I googled their company, I am positive they have my information from what happened.
Questions:
Rep. said they haven’t sent it to the credit bureau yet but it can happen any day now. I didn’t think to ask her about the letter’s 4/10 date that states I have until that day to dispute or respond. So was she bluffing cause the letter has this date?
Rep. said that if I pay over the phone (sooner the better) it will not get reported at all, but if I pay online through the company’s link, it will. Is this true?
I asked about settlement and she said that she would need to take some more information from me before she could tell me how much lower it would be. Information like email address, how often I’m paid, a second phone number. I didn’t answer cause it sounded fishy to want all of this just to tell me how much lower it could be. Should I tell her this info over the phone?
How do I start the conversation to negotiate to lower the pay?
Should I pay through cashier’s check through the mail or pay through the phone like she wanted?
Should I mention to them that I’m seeking legal advice?

Rep. said they haven’t sent it to the credit bureau yet but it can happen any day now. I didn’t think to ask her about the letter’s 4/10 date that states I have until that day to dispute or respond. So was she bluffing cause the letter has this date?
Rep. said that if I pay over the phone (sooner the better) it will not get reported at all, but if I pay online through the company’s link, it will. Is this true?
I asked about settlement and she said that she would need to take some more information from me before she could tell me how much lower it would be. Information like email address, how often I’m paid, a second phone number. I didn’t answer cause it sounded fishy to want all of this just to tell me how much lower it could be. Should I tell her this info over the phone?
How do I start the conversation to negotiate to lower the pay?
Should I pay through cashier’s check through the mail or pay through the phone like she wanted?
Should I mention to them that I’m seeking legal advice?

I discovered yesterday that I can access and control the office Sonos speakers from my Spotify app on my Windows desktop app or Android phone. Sometimes no one wants to take charge of the music in the office so I queued up some songs, but at the same time I normally listen through my phone and my earbuds.
Is it possible with one account to run two feeds at the same time going to two different speakers? I'm thinking I'd probably have to upgrade to the family plan so I can create a 2nd login for this to work.

So I recently applied to three positions at a regional jail...One of which was brought to my attention on Indeed via a supposed recruiter.
It's been over two weeks since I applied with zero contact from anyone who works there. I attempted to reach out to see what the status was but there's virtually no phone numbers online for HR. Just the standard jail telephone system that tells you about dress codes,how to put money in inmates accounts etc. I even reached out to other jails and criminal related departments to see if they had some sort of contact info , but nothing.. The central office for all the jails in the region didn't have anything either. That or they're just playing dumb.
Today I saw that all the jobs had been renewed on Indeed...not the first time that's happened. I once saw Walmart post positions for asset protection, to which I applied,did an interview, sat at a clinic for 3 hours for a piss test , only to never hear back. The jobs had been taken down so I assumed they'd found someone. However, within a week the jobs were relisted, so obviously it didn't work out. The same thing happened with said jail jobs. Everything I applied for was relisted, implying that the recruiter renewed them. Based on the county website, these positions have been open for 2 years now... you'd think they would make themselves more available.
That said, should I be relieved that the jail position isn't going to materialize? Obviously if there's no extensions or emails available they don't want you reaching out to them. It kinda makes me wonder if the work environment is stable or just pure chaos.

Per the custody arrangement my DH gets the kids over their spring break. His ex flipped the eff out because while her DH is out of work, she is taking the week off in order to take care of his kids, so she wanted hers home too.
My husband was like "nope, per the order I have them". He told my 2 ss's the plan for spring break included them going to go see their grandma (she loves the boys) but BM did NOT like that while she was spying in on their phone call. She texted my DH over and over after the call how she did not want that and to just give them to her for that week, but DH said no.
Guess who is "sick" and has to go to the doctors? One of my stepsons. She has done this multiple times now, said the youngest was sick and withheld him from DH's visitation because she didn't trust my DH to take care of him, even though she always sends him with some new medicine.
My DH has contacted the lawyer in the past over the withholding, but didnt go so far as to call police, because he didnt want to traumatize his son. Down here the police will enforce custody orders. Last time she withheld one of the boys was because he had a "rash" that NO doctor could figure out the source to and my DH was so distraught. Especially since the next time we saw him he was FINE and my oldest SS said his brother is "over whatever that was and doesn't need any medicine".
I told DH he better call the police this time because I KNOW she will pull some shit. She didnt get her way so shes going to weaponize the kids to hurt my DH.
I told him to also call the kid's school for a number count on how often she pulls them out; to get the number of excused AND unexcused absences. And to call the doctor's office for the number of times she has taken the youngest. I'm a 22 year old who has struggled on and off with mental illness since I was 13; this includes but isn't limited to various forms of self-harm, suicidal ideation and an eating disorder. I am NOT currently suicidal or engaging with any eating disorder thoughts or behaviours - they are just examples of prior struggles. I am also autistic with an 'educational' diagnosis of ADHD; I was assessed/screened by the Learning Support department of my former uni, who told me I fit the criteria for ADHD. As they cannot professionally diagnose, I was given an 'educational' diagnosis for the purpose of receiving study support from the university. I am not diagnosed with OCD, but it's something my boyfriend suggested to me before when I told him about a few things I do. I've been lurking this sub for the past few weeks and am finally acting on my temptation to post to this sub. I don't want to label myself with OCD without a diagnosis of some sort (be it official or otherwise), but I feel like if I do have OCD then it falls under two themes: death OCD and moral scrupulosity. The theme I want to discuss here is moral scrupulosity.
A persistent worry of mine is that I'm a bad person. This has plagued me since my teen years, but it's gotten progressively worse as I get older. No matter how many times I've had reassurance/am reassured that I'm not a bad person, I still worry about it. I ruminate on past mistakes I've made and judge myself for poor decisions and nasty things I said as a teen. I wouldn't dream of judging anyone else for their past mistakes (I don't) but I'm always so worried about offending people that I beat myself up whenever I'm off with someone. When I'm upset or worried about something, my thoughts tell me that I'm emotionally manipulating people into feeling bad for me; they kind of argue with themselves. For example: one thought may say "You're emotionally manipulating them into feeling bad for you" while the other is trying to refute this with "No I'm not. That's not my intention." I would never willingly hurt anyone. I crave a moral clean slate. I'm a moral perfectionist with the gnawing guilt that I'm horrible and that everyone will see me for the bad person I am one day. Whenever I've been asked why I believe I'm a bad person, I've been unable to give a straight answer. I just hold myself to such high standards I can never meet - standards I never hold anyone else to. As aforementioned, I don't judge others on their past mistakes but when I make a mistake, I'm less than perfect so I must be bad.
I used to think that this fear of being a bad person started in my late teens; I've since done some reflection on my past and realised that it actually started sooner. When I was 14, I used to write apology letters to my friends. When I was younger, I used to sometimes lie when I feared the truth would get me in trouble. I still do this now to an extent. I had/have the sense to know this is an arse backwards sense of thinking: that lying is actually what can get me in trouble, but I still tell white lies sometimes because I fear being truthful will taint me as bad. As an adult though, I then feel bad for lying and it fuels what I believe to be moral scrupulosity.
When my boyfriend first mentioned OCD to me, I told him that I can't possibly have it because I don't flicker the light switches on and off with the fear that something bad will happen if I don't. My view of OCD was very stereotypical. This was about OctobeNovember last year. Since then, I have done a bit of research into the subject. I've reflected on past/present experiences and through lurking this sub, I've realised that there are many, many themes. I've read posts on this sub that I could've written about myself. I relate to some of the experiences here. I am not trying to diagnose myself and I'm not looking for a diagnosis here. I've had an epiphany since the initial mention that my boyfriend was kind of onto something when he suggested I had OCD. He's no professional of course, though. My behaviours may be explained by OCD or they could be related to some other diagnosis that I haven't considered. In the past month or so, I've developed a new fear that I'm acting 'more' OCD since my boyfriend mentioned it, but I know that's an irrational fear and that I've struggled with these thoughts since before he mentioned it. His suggestion has just provided me with a possible explanation of why I think/act the way I do. I will now describe a few recent examples of incidents I think might be related to moral scrupulosity.
1) I applied for a journalism apprenticeship in January and progressed to stage 2 of the selection process, which was an online assessment. Whilst waiting to hear back from the organisation, I had an email that told me I didn't complete the online assessment. It was a definite mistake on their part because the email also had the wrong location I applied for. So I figured there was some mix up. I emailed the organisation explaining what happened and asked for some clarification. I received a reply shortly after that explained they did in fact receive my online assessment and that yes, the email naming the wrong location was a mistake. No big deal. However by the time I received that email clarifying the situation, I didn't even care about the apprenticeship anymore. I had started worrying that my email asking for clarification was actually me kicking up a fuss and making a stink. I worked myself up into such a worry that I started doing compulsive behaviours to try alleviate my guilt. I tried rotating my phone x amount of times before doing things I'd never done before, like flicking the light switch on and off x number of times. Doing this convinced me that I was then faking the whole thing; that I'm only acting and thinking like this since OCD was brought up last year. I was trying so bad to satiate the guilt and nothing was working. The thing with the light switches was a new behaviour that just occurred to me as something I needed to do at the time; rotating my phone isn't a new behaviour. I do it whenever I 'pick my phone up wrong'. I sometimes feel like I don't do things right, as in it doesn't feel right when I brush my teeth, pick up my phone, etc.
2) I had an argument with a mate because we both caught each other at the wrong time. We were both in a bad mood for whatever reason and it lead to us snapping at each other. I'm an irritable person anyway, but most of the time I think I keep it contained. I do snap at people when I'm in a bad mood but I think that's just being human. We both apologised and the argument was resolved, however I immediately started beating myself up about it after the interaction had ceased. I tried doing things to alleviate the guilt again including flicking the light switches on and off. Like before, none of it worked. Whenever I'm off with people, I worry that they're gonna start hating me because I've exposed myself for the horrible person I am. When I'm not in one of these episodes, I have the mental clarity to acknowledge that my worries are irrational but it always feels real at the time. I always manage to convince myself that I'm horrible.
3) This morning, I had a spontaneous phone call from the recruitment manager of a company I applied for. It completely caught me off guard but I was told that I came across very well. I struggle to think on the spot so I feel like coming across well during a spontaneous phone interview is an achievement in and of itself. The phone call ended with an invitation to an open day at the office on Monday morning because they want to meet me as soon as possible. This was exciting to hear, but the excitement only lasted for about a minute or two. As always, my fear of being a bad person found a way to spin things into a negative. I started worrying that I lied to make the recruitment manager like me, and I told myself that I'll turn up to the office on Monday and they won't actually like me because they'll see me for the horrible person I actually am. It's apparently not possible for me to achieve something at the minute without convincing myself that I actually had an underlying motive of masking as a good person.
As stated earlier in this post, I have been worrying that I'm a bad person for years. It's just got more severe as I've got older because I've made more mistakes and therefore have more to ruminate on and feel guilty for. I also have more adult responsibilities to fulfill, so I feel like the stress of everyday life is why my moral perfectionism is getting worse. I think it's moral scrupulosity but I don't want to put a definitive label on it. I'm currently awaiting my second appointment with the mental health team I was referred to, and I'm hoping they can either tell me what I experience is OCD or tell me it's explained by another mental health condition. I don't mean to sound like I want to have OCD, because I don't. What I'm trying to say is that if what I'm experiencing is due to OCD, I would rather know sooner than later so I can learn how to live with it. Or, if I don't have OCD then I want to know what it is I am suffering with that's making me feel so worthless. In the mean time, I'm posting to this sub for advice I suppose. For now, I'm walking on eggshells. I have no money, my bank accounts were shut down, my address isn't changed, my identification is expired, my credit cards are closed, no one knows where I am as far as I know, I have no car. I've had my adult life ripped out from me and transplanted back to my childhood with my parents watching everything I do, not allowing me to act independently, pretending they did nothing.
