2023.05.28 15:05 Plane_Fix6129 Good book clubs, coffee spots, hiking clubs this subreddit would personally recommend?
Hello, I am a super introverted woman, early 20s, native to Upstate SC, I live in Greenville now. I am looking to make close female friends. I like reading, studying, and hiking. I've looked at Meetup.com listings and book clubs here (especially the book clubs and the baking events at M.Judson).
I figured I would ask the subreddit for more suggestions. I am not very good at making friends, but I need to put myself out there. I was even considering going to a coffee shop (Coffee Underground, Methodical?) every weekend, but I don't know if that would lead to anything. Thanks

2023.05.28 14:33 bigtastie X1 Carbon 6th generation for 350 USD
Recently been on the lookout for a replacement to my T450s, as it's performance and battery life is subpar at this point. I stumbled on a used X1 Carbon on Facebook marketplace here in Denmark. i7 8550, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB with Windows 11 installed for (equivalent to) 350 USD, which to me sounds like a good deal.
There are no 7 dollar T480 here in Denmark (lol), a T480 usually go for a similar price as this one, 290 USD is the best I've found a decent looking T480 for.
Overall I want a good, solid replacement for my T450s for the next many years to come. Is this a good deal? Anything I should consider that I might have overlooked? Is it better to send a little extra on a newer generation of the X1 carbon?

I have few completed trades in the group that haven't been flaired yet since the new bot seems to be pretty temperamental, feel free to search me out. Also very active on eBay, Mercari, and Facebook's Fragrance Marketplace, so feel free to DM for my details on those platforms.
These aren't the only things I'm interested in, so also feel free to shoot me a message with other offers. And if you have a well stocked humidor, I'd certainly entertain trades for non-fragrance items that may reside therein.

2023.05.28 13:59 Old_Eye3440 Pros and cons of Saab 9-3 wagon?
For reference I’m considering this: https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1371676443613642/?mibextid=6ojiHh
And my motivation is a solid second vehicle that is fun to drive and can get way better mpg than our kid hauler (Subaru ascent).
I’m also grounded in reality knowing this isn’t a new vehicle, I’ve owned a Saab before and yet it was the most reliable engine I’ve ever had in a car- it was a 1998 900, non turbo, burnt orange color and my favorite car ever. She left because of well, hilarious and rusty problems. (You could see out of the trunk, the moonroof leaked, the radio turned off and on, the heat knob broke) but she hit 300,000.
I know this is also part GM as was my other Saab. Tell me. Bad choice? What’s reality?

2023.05.28 12:27 Dragonkin_56 Buyer wants to use Paypal for $900 purchase?
I am selling an item for $900 on Facebook Marketplace, and someone reached out to me about it. I typically only ever use cash or etransfer just because I feel those are the most secure. However the buyer is very insistent on using Paypal to send me the money, and since it's such a large amount I'm worried that they can undo the transfer as soon as I drive away or something. Is there a way to scam people on Paypal like that? I haven't used it much so I don't know the ins and outs. Is it safe for a transaction of this size? Any tips? Thank you!

2023.05.28 12:10 kirniy1 Help needed in automating lesson report writing in Google Docs with ChatGPT
Hey everyone, hope you're doing well!
I'm an English tutor specializing in online classes. One of the more tedious parts of my job is the report writing process that comes after each class. I've been looking into ways of automating this process and I thought it might be possible to use ChatGPT along with Google Docs or Google Sheets to help me out.
Currently I'm just manually filling in the Word report template after each class or just asking ChatGPT to help me write the wordy performance evaluation bits, which I then copy and paste into the template. Here's what I'm hoping to achieve: I want to be able to input some key data points (like a few words about the students' performance, the pages covered in class, homework) into a platform (could be ChatGPT itself, Google Docs, or Google Sheets). This data should then be used by ChatGPT to fill in a report template document.
I've tried doing it myself through GPT for Sheets & Docs
, but it's a bit more technical than I anticipated. I'm hoping someone here could give me some advice or point me in the right direction. Here
is a screenshot of the template I use.

2023.05.28 10:39 intracranialspider Thank you, /r/bristol
Hey folks! Wanted to update you the situation and also just thank everyone for their kind words, amazing advice and generosity.
My dad gave me 200 quid for a new phone as an early birthday present, so I got one off of Facebook marketplace (yipeee). It's surprising how much you rely on your phone. Couldn't do any banking or anything without it.
I have changed my locks now after two nights of just barricading the door. Police have been no help. As someone suggested, I mentioned CCTV in a reply to them, yet I've had no response yet.
But seriously, I just wanted to say thanks to everyone. You all are legends. I honestly just hoped someone would drop in like "saw your phone in cex" or something. Its not been turned on for 4 days however, so I'm thinking that it's either going to appear in another country in a week or be in the harbour.
Anyways, I'm gonna try not get mugged again. Cheers. o7

2023.05.28 10:24 Agent_weenie First time ever being harassed on this platform.
| || |
For a crumb of context: I buy old Nintendo switch JoyCons from places like Facebook Marketplace, ebay, Mercari and even on OfferUp. I repair them, customize them and resell them for tiny profit. Everything works and i make sure to keep everything as authentic possible. (Even when outsourcing parts). Except for the shells themselves because there can be some really cool custom shells. This guy harassed me because he claimed that i buy aftermarket JoyCons and pass them off as authentic. I was honestly taken aback by all this because i provide photos to show it's authenticity. Even in my listing i imply that only the shells themselves are the only things that are aftermarket. To prove what i do is legit i even attached a photo of me disassembling a right joycon (last photo). I obviously reported him for harassment and i hope to God that i don't deal with people like him for a long time. submitted by Agent_weenie to offerup [link] [comments]

2023.05.28 08:39 NikoMora411 Bike help.
| || |
I bought a bike off Facebook marketplace a while back, the seller posted vintage bike for 20 bucks. I have been replacing parts and fixing it up and took it into a bike shop the other day to get new tires. The service man said that even though it has Schwinn stickers the body is not a Schwinn style, but every other part on it is a Schwinn part. Could anyone possibly give me some information on this bike body? If more pictures are needed let me know. submitted by NikoMora411 to bicycling [link] [comments]

2023.05.28 08:27 Uneik9 New rule of adding personal information information to post items for sale?
Is it true that in order to "sell" items, like you would at a yard sale; you now have to provide your social security number to Facebook marketplace? So it can be reported on your taxes? Or the little birdie who told me this just twisting my arm? I do not have Facebook and no real way of checking. I've asked my friends who have it and they say they don't sell anything on there so they don't know either. Just wanted to sell a few items around the house that are perfectly fine but no longer need. Just wanted to know of this is true or not. Any help would be great! Thank you!

2023.05.28 06:52 Gamertoast12 Does anyone have advice on getting a harp from Craigslist/Facebook marketplace?
I am looking to get my first harp. I've been saving up and all. Then my dad recommended the idea of getting one off of Craigslist, but I don't know anyone else who plays. Is their anything I should specifically look for, or would it be better to save up and buy from the company instead. (Don't really mind saving up more. I just don't know what would be best.) TIA!

2023.05.28 05:36 futajunta Dell Precision T7810 Build
Wanting to build a server to learn on and be able to power it from a single outlet and not burn my house down/run up my energy bill too much. Yes a bit of toolbox fallacy I can start small but don't want to. And I'll be getting VMUG to really dive in and learn about the virtual environment.
My job uses vCenter, ESXi, and Horizon but as helpdesk I'm not allowed to do much. Not spinning anything up and learning. Plus everyone's busy so getting time to be trained on the higher level stuff is tough. But love the job and learning a lot as is, just want to learn more. I digress.
These are the parts I have picked out
Going to replace the 8 core cpus with 2 of these 18 core Xeon E5-2697 V4
. A bios upgrade likely will be needed.
6 of these 2400t-RB1-11 32gb ram sticks
for 192gb of additional ram.May leave the 16 the server comes with in or take it out. Doesn't say how many sticks are in as is so depends on that. Understanding timings make my brain hurt as well, hope these are ok.
All this comes out to 500 before tax. Prices are obviously a bit variable of course depending on supply. Locally nothings on craiglist/facebook marketplace/govdeals. Rarely does good priced tech stuff pop up here on any of these.
But sounds like a good starting point or no? I picked these parts out by reading various reddit threads. The cpus are compatible with ESXi 8.0 U1 and 8.0
. I realize I should ask what power supply that server has, the cpus it come with are 85w TDP and the ones I want to upgrade to are 145w TDP. It's not listed so will contact seller. According to this
it can have up to a 1300w supply. But let me know if there's anything else I'm not thinking of.
