2023.06.03 12:21 Equivalent-Spend9761 Thanks BMW and Bavaria - Appreciation Post.
| Three-years’ duty in Bavaria is coming to a close for me, and my last weekend before shipping the Z4 to the US has me reflecting on my time here. Came with my old 2013 135i convertible, then enjoyed several months with a 2022 540xi as a loaner while the Z4 was on order, and finishing now with that little red rocket. I’m 45 and have driven on several continents across the world now, and driving here has been hands-down the most fun I’ve ever had. I know parts of Germany can be congested and may not live up to its billing, but it certainly has for me in this rural corner of Bavaria where the A93 and A6 intersect. Lots of visits to BMW Welt and the museum. Another hour from there to the Alps. It’s a shame the euro-delivery is not an option for US customers anymore; I wish every BMW fan in this sub-Reddit that wants it, has the chance to experience driving here at some point. To my German hosts, thank you so much. Your infrastructure is world class and your driving culture is, to this American, something incredible. Duty in central Virginia waits for me next and the Blue Ridge parkway is 30 minutes away, but it won’t be the same. submitted by Equivalent-Spend9761 to BMW [link] [comments] |
2023.06.03 12:20 Digitallifero1 skin and hair clinic - skin treatment clinic
Melasma & Pigmentation is a common skin disorder. Loosely translated, the word means “black spot.” If you have melasma, you’re probably experiencing light brown, dark brown, and blue-gray patches on your skin. They can appear as flat patches or freckle-like spots. Commonly affected areas include your face, including the cheeks, upper lip, and forehead, as well as the forearms. Melasma & Pigmentation typically darkens and lightens over time, often getting worse in the summer and better in the winter.
Causes Of Melasma & Pigmentation - Sun exposure
- Certain birth Control Pills
- Genetics
- increase in estrogen
- Pregnancy
- Skin Inflammation
Trentment Of Melasma & Pigmentation - Chemical peels: Chemical peels involve applying a chemical solution to the skin, which exfoliates the outer layers and promotes the growth of new, healthier skin.
- Laser therapy: Laser treatments use high-energy light to target and break up the excess pigment in the skin.
- Microdermabrasion: This procedure involves exfoliating the outer layer of the skin using a handheld device with a diamond-tipped or crystal-tipped wand. Microdermabrasion can help reduce the appearance of pigmentation by promoting skin cell turnover.
- Dermabrasion: Similar to microdermabrasion, dermabrasion involves removing the outer layers of the skin. However, dermabrasion is a more aggressive procedure typically used for deeper pigmentation issues or scars.
- Topical antioxidants: Certain topical products containing antioxidants like vitamin C, kojic acid, or azelaic acid can help lighten pigmentation and even out skin tone.
- Sun protection: Since sun exposure is a major trigger for melasma and pigmentation, it is crucial to protect your skin from the sun's harmful rays.
It's important to note that the effectiveness of these treatments can vary depending on the severity and underlying cause of your melasma or pigmentation.

2023.06.03 12:20 Ok-Advertising4418 1 yr review 7 seater
So far my experience has been great no major issues so far. The car is noisy no doubt about it, and to be fair I don’t know if is in part caused by not having an engine constantly making noise.
Pros
I charge a home which is a big plus, supercharging is expensive when you compare it to home rates. On trips I spend usually less than 20 dollars in CA for about 60% charge, at home will cost around half of that.
I have only supercharge during family trips and so far I’ve had an excellent experience. We usually spend 15 to 20 min at the super chargers which is barely enough time to get snacks and use the restroom.
I don’t worry about the cost of gas anymore!!!! (Yeah sure on a macroeconomic level everything is tight to transportation cost, don’t start a crusade on this one)
The 7 seater is good enough to take my 2 nephews in the back, not really meant for tall persons. I would say 5’ and below is doable.
Is incredibly fun to drive, the updates of the car software are just an incredible experience.
The basic autopilot makes long drives a breeze, I usually don’t get to my destination all tired from the driving
Cons- no cons j/k
The glass roof is beautiful however in summer the car feels like an oven! That means the a/c use is a must. I bought the cover for the roof for this reason and it helped more than I thought it would.for summer I recommend getting it.
In winter the windshield fogs up which means you will have to use the heater to defog it. ( both instances winter and summer means you use the battery more, it’s not terribly bad but on a long trip you will notice it)
I refused to pay for ppf and after 18k miles I have had a couple of paint chips in the front bumper which it was to expect after all that paint is taking all the road debri. If you are picky and want to see your car in mint condition get the ppf. Also the amount of bugs I have had to take off this bumper….🥴
I made the mistake of taking it to an automatic brushless car wash and got the rainbow discoloration on the black trim around the doors. There are plenty of post about this, so be aware!!!
From an Economic point of view with the gas savings you end up recouping the difference from buying a comparable ice car in about 5 yrs. Im assuming about 15k to 20k extra for the pure EV. (And no I have not run numbers on this is a rough number based on my experience)
Overall these are the main points from my experience. Do I recommend the car absolutely, is expensive but I think is worth it. I would’ve regret buying an ICE car instead of the tesla.

2023.06.03 12:19 CallMeFlanby Google Home disabling games and Professor Know
| Hi everyone, I don't know if you know the game "kNOW!" from ravensburger. It was a quiz game that was supposed to be always up-to-date. Here is the official site of it (US Version): https://www.ravensburger.us/discovegames/know-game/index.html Google however is removing all games compatibility within the Google assistant. The screenshot says in the German, that after the 13th June this function is not available anymore. I think this is a really dumb move from Google and would like to know if some of you are interested to write Google or Ravensburger in order to stop this move. Please apologize for any spell and grammarl mistakes and please delete this post if you think, this should not be here. Have a great Saturday submitted by CallMeFlanby to Ravensburger [link] [comments] |

2023.06.03 12:18 lazyPanda2102 Problem with interfacing max7219 with 8051 MCU
| I am using MCU 8051 IDE to write code in assembly, and proteus circuit simulator to simulate my schematic. I have followed the datasheet and am just trying to send a command to override shutdown mode by entering test display mode. When debugging the code I found the data being read at rising edge of clock provided by the MCU matches the data being sent to the ic. But when actually running the simulation it seems to fail. Any ideas about where I am going wrong? | My items, all work (apart from the old 1541 and the built-in 1571 in 1571-mode), new PSUs. The PI1541, the SD2IEC and the original Final Cartridge III are not on the picture, and my full size Music Expansion keyboard and the C128 Music Keyboard overlay are also boxed. 2023.06.03 12:18 PyroCorvid Just a quick story...rant...testimony?
My fiancée has been having gallbladder issues for the past month and a half. Her doctors have come to the conclusion of removing it, but they have yet to schedule a surgery date. Every now and again she would have a gallbladder attack. After her most recent one, she made an appt with her primary care doctor. She's a pretty tough cookie, for her to be doubled over in pain takes quite a bit.
She explained how bad the pain was, and her primary care doctor said "under contract" they cannot prescribe anything stronger than Motrin. Fucking. Motrin. A primary care doctor, that can't do their job because they're UNDER CONTRACT. I know there isn't much they can do until her surgery date, but are they really expecting her to just sit there and suffer, until a surgery date can be scheduled? Possibly months from now? Just take OTC Motrin? That really boils my blood. Especially considering I'm in Louisiana, and the hell we just went through trying to keep it legal here. To think if that ban bill had gone through, THIS is what would be the alternative. Luckily because of the ban I had been stocking up so she has quite a selection to choose from.
She has taken kratom every now and again for pain. A blend of red MD and Bali seem to work best for her. She can't do capsules so I usually make her a drink of some sort (usually a Nesquick drink with a dash of liquid coffee creamer) in order to mask the bitterness. I guess this is more of me venting, and once again kratom helping where the healthcare system has failed. Thank You kratom.

2023.06.03 12:18 grahco Expectations of cycling in Melbourne?
Hi all,
I am moving to Melbourne later this year from Europe. In my late-20s, I have lived in Spain (very good cycling infrastructure), the UK (apart from London, very bad cycling infrastructure) and Germany (great cycling infrastructure). Cycling for me is a simple way to commute rather than using my car, and I am keen to buy and ride a "dutch-style" bike once I get to Melbourne in order to explore and get around. However, I keep reading conflicting information about cycling in Melbourne, from those who say it is "a cycling city" to those who say it still has a long way to go.
What should I expect? Is cycling there viable and are things good/heading towards good quality?
