2023.03.25 03:14 uselessoldguy Necromancer Design Meeting
I uncovered some audio from the design meeting for the Diablo IV Necromancer at Blizzard. It explains some things.
---
"Thanks for coming everyone. Jen is out on maternity leave, but we've got a very special guest to fill in for her today. This is Mike from Activision HQ. He's a big fan of the Necromancer class, and he's got a couple ideas he wanted to share. Mike, the floor is yours."
"THANKS TED. TO START, I WANT A RESOURCE BUILDER THAT MAKES A HEALTH SANDWICH."
"Er, sorry. You mean like a heal?"
"FUCK NO. I MEAN IT ADDS A WHOLE EXTRA LAYER OF HEALTH ON TOP OF YOUR HEALTH, LIKE AN OREO DOUBLESTUFF COOKIE OF LIFEBLOOD."
"Huh, okay. Well—"
"AND THAT DOUBLE HEALTH LAYER TURNS YOUR BLOOD AOE SPENDER INTO A FUCKING NUCLEAR BOMB."
"I'm not sure about the balance on—"
"I'M TALKING HIROSHIMA, TED. NAGA-FUCKING-SAKI. BUT THAT'S JUST IF YOU LIKE HAVING A JOB."
"I do like having a job."
"NOW WE'RE ON THE SAME PAGE, TED. NOW FOR THE SKELETONS. I WANT ALL OF THEM. EVERY GODDAMN SKELETON EVERYWHERE AT ONCE, COMPLETELY CROWDING ENEMIES OUT OF YOUR SCREEN. I DON'T EVEN WANT TO SEE ENEMIES, THE ARROGANT SHITS."
"We do have some ideas on that. For skeletons, we're thinking we'll let players choose between warriors or mage—"
"ALL. THE. FUCKING. SKELETONS, TED. AND GIVE ME LEGENDARIES THAT JUST PILE MORE SKELETONS ON SKELETONS, LIKE ONE OF THOSE CAMBODIAN MASSASCRE SHRINES. AND YOU JUST GET ALL THESE SKELETONS FOR FREE, RIGHT AT THE START."
"We'll certainly take that into consideration. Now, for the resource cost and cooldown on Corpse Explosion—"
"I THOUGHT WE WERE ON THE SAME PAGE, TED."
"—let's not have a resource cost or cooldown for Corpse Explosion."
"MAKE IT SO SPAMMABLE IT'D GIVE SERENA WILLIAMS CARPAL TUNNEL SYNDROME. ALSO, LET'S MAKE THE CURSE AOE HALF THE SCREEN, AND IT SLOWS ENEMIES AND ALSO INCREASES DAMAGE DONE TO THEM."
"What about—"
"AND ALSO THERE'S A GODDAMN GOLEM."
"Okay, we'll talk this over, certainly."
"TALK IS CHEAP. REPLACING YOU IS CHEAPER."
"Noted. Oh, Eric has an interesting idea for Druid—"
"DO I SOUND LIKE I GIVE A FUCK ABOUT DRUIDS? GIVE THEM ANTLER HATS AND LITTLE RAIN CLOUDS OR SOME OTHER STUPID HORSESHIT. DON'T MAKE ME EVEN THINK THE WORD 'DRUID' EVER AGAIN."
"Well, I think that's all we have time for. Mike, we'll do all of this right away."
"YOUR FAMILY THANKS YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION."

2023.03.25 03:03 Nashboy45 Is a >$10 Price Projection of an Hbar reasonable?
It is my understanding that Hbar is like the fuel for using the Hedera Hashgraph system. I occasionally see price projections in the double digits around online and I wanted to know how that would even be possible. Here’s my question:
If an Hbar was worth even $10, wouldn’t that make the transactions super expensive and essentially force a cooldown of usage and wasn’t that by design?
I think I’m missing something but I’m not sure exactly what it is or what to look for. Maybe something to do with staking or being your own Node?

2023.03.25 02:52 Baticor818 Dear Bungo Overlords,
If we are going to keep pushing the use of this super poorly designed commendation system, and I mean the kind of pushing where you need to gain/give 1.8k of them including 20/week/character for pinnacles… Why not penalize people for not using it? I mean seriously you finish a matchmade activity and you sit at the end screen and sometimes you will be the only one who knows how to click the cute little star icon.
I mean if you are gonna gate a system that is supposed to show experience, behind a failing system also designed to show experience. Just get rid of the failing one. BOOM problem solved! This system serves absolutely no purpose in its current state.
Please Mommy Bungo, fix this, some way some how.
(I would love this thread to become a place where potential changes can be discussed in a civil manner)
XOXO
A very loving 9 year Destiny Veteran.

2023.03.25 02:44 karltannertko Review after playing all classes but druid
This is probably the most beautiful ARPG I have ever played, with the best atmosphere.
It's also probably the worst I've played when it comes to gameplay design and balance.
- Ranged is absolutely broken in this game. You might as well name it game journalist mode. You ignore most of the mechanics, you do just as much dmg, you have just as many and more defensives.
- Class defensives are not thought out on melee. Take the rogue as an example. The shield mechanic with charges works great on the ranged spec. This same design will fail at endgame with the melee spec. You can't just use the same solution for ranged/melee. It's like people didn't even test this game. Melee classes need things like reflects, WoW monk karma or HEAVY self healing cooldowns and or "unstoppable" so you can connect during burst windows if you aren't just going to make them much tanker passively.
- Boss fights favor ranged so much so that you may as well be playing another game. It seems like you brought in WoW Mythic raid encounter designers on this that have always favored ranged, while at the same time not bringing along their class design that gives melee the ability to stand close to the boss. Just a horrible experience especially on a barb. The Rogue can speed kill things fast enough where it isn't a problem, but I doubt this will work in the end game.
- Sorcerer is the most op class I have seen in any ARPG in history. Why would you ever give a class essentially 3 immunes, teleport (can't forget that these remove CC) and the best passive pet dmg in the game? Hydras are ranged so don't have travel time like other pet companions. Sorcs don't even have to do boss mechanics. You throw down double hydra, can then barrier tank initial dmg to put out some burst, followed with an immune for a couple seconds more of dmg, followed by an immunity that aoes. How in the hell did this make it live? This class has better defensives that allow them to stay close to a boss than melee.
- The classes are not fun other than sorc specs that aren't hydra (and that are still OP) and melee rogue. This game was heavily dumbed down for consoles. Barbarian might be the most boring class I have played in a modern ARPG.
- Seeing how diceroll and random gigantic hits are in this game, PvP is dead on arrival. IF you are still trying to balance around pvp don't bother. No one is gonna play it past the first month.
- The push to try to make this a MMO, with forced interaction most people don't even want, has caused the game to be a stutterfest. Blizzard has lost the plot here. You already have a MMO. The rubberbanding reminds me of the failure of larger BG's in WoW that just can't handle the bandwidth, because your virtual servers that are as cheap as possible are made for failed esports like WoW arena, mythic raiding and Overwatch.
This game needs to be delayed at least a year. It's fundamentally broken on many levels.

2023.03.25 02:31 ProlificMystic33 The dangerous side of Human Design
So something I’ve seen when it comes to human design is people saying there is no right or wrong, that everything that happens is meant for you. But I find this to be a dangerous viewpoint sometimes. I can see that point in a lot of ways but there certainly is right and wrong. I had a friend that is very into human design, she’s even a certified analyst, and she used this view to excuse her bad behavior. When you have children involved and they are along for the ride they should be considered and protected. There is such thing as right and wrong if you are allowing your children to go without or be in abusive situations. This same person also had something in her chart that said she is meant to live selfishly even if others don’t understand it and so she uses this as validation to be selfish. The same goes for manipulation, she has gate 26 a couple times in her chart and it says something about it carrying a manipulative energy that can be used for happiness or lies. I would see her manipulate but translate it as if it was for good even though it was for lies. I guess the gist of what I’m saying is that sometimes a false sense of knowledge, thinking you’re an expert at human design to validate a shadow path can be dangerous for those that rely on that person for guidance and protection. I mean, we all know narcissists exist. To say everyone is perfect and whole like i’ve seen people say in the context of human design, is just giving a narcissist fuel for their behavior. I just think the aspiration should be to do our best and accept sometimes we choose a path that made things seemingly harder but it was meant for us to be that way so we could learn from it. I don’t think it should be a literal interpretation of there is no such thing as right or wrong. To me that excuses horrendous behavior and can perpetuate ongoing dangerous behavior. Am I misinterpreting that? The whole no right or wrong thing? I know human design isn’t a set of morals or any one way of living but I do think there are things we can all agree are wrong.

2023.03.25 02:23 Benneticus Should I add the triomes to my peasant cube?
Cube overview and list for reference:
https://cubecobra.com/cube/overview/beejayp I'm currently considering ramping up my peasant cube from a 420 to a 450 in order to accommodate for extra drafters when we're lucky enough to have a couple of extra individuals. When I make the increase to 450, my current plan is to add 10 more lands, 10 more mono color cards (2 for each color), 7 colorless cards, and 3 "rotating" cards that I'll seed into drafts when I'm on the fence about card inclusions but want to see how they play out in reality.
I already break rarity for lands which is a decision I've really enjoyed. I run a full set of shocks, buddy, and bounce lands. In addition to this I currently run a rare land for each 2-color pair that fits my design goals or to strengthen certain color pairs.
For the remaining 10 lands, my initial inclination was to just include a second pair of shock lands. However, I was thinking of one of my drafters who always loves to try and put together 3+ color piles together but never successfully. While I don't want it to be the default that 3+ color decks are just the right thing to do or push out aggro as a viable archetype, I thought it could be fun to increase the viability of the plan somewhat.
So, what do you all think would be the best route to go down? Should I add triomes, a second pair of shocks, or does anyone else have any other fun ideas?

2023.03.25 02:02 Cuttlefish_Crusaders How customizable is the combat system?
I know it's idealized for regular JRPG turn-based combat, and that's why I'm thinking of using it. I'm more curious how flexible their system is with style and personalisation.
Does everything have to use the same mana to skill system, or can you make something else? I have a clear idea but don't want to pay a subscription for gamemaker
EDIT: I feel I should post my idea to show what I'm working with. It's not relevant how difficult it would be, only the possibility
The system is designed around using team composition to overpower enemies. It's one of those games where preparation is half the battle
Characters have two main types of stats: Hard and Soft. Hard stats are the baseline for every character, only modifiable by character specific gear. Soft stats are flexible modifiers to hard stats. They can be negative and always start at 0 excluding passives and items. Many skills can change them in combat.
Characters have 3 "bars" when fighting: HP, SP, and EP.
If HP goes to zero, you die. It also has 3 "injury thresholds" that debuffs upon going below, but can also trigger certain skills
SP is spent to use actions in combat and auto-heals at the top of the round
EP symbolizes the character's morale in combat. It ranges from +10 to -10 and affects all stats. It increases upon damaging enemies. It decreases upon taking damage.
Hard stats
Fortitude: This stat defines your max HP
Agility: This defines your max SP
Constitution: This defines how much SP you recover each turn
Might: How much damage you can do, your attack stat
Armor: Your ability to defend yourself, your defense stat
Soft stats:
Precision: a hit rate modifier. If it brings hit rate above 100 it will enables critical hits for double damage. Over 200 enables impales for triple damage
Evasion: Allows you to dodge attacks. if it goes negative you will take risk taking criticals instead Power: Increases damage, negative decreases damage
Resilience: increases defense, negative decreases defense
Vigor: Increases stamina regeneration, negative decreases stamina regeneration
Two example skills:
Blade Flow SP 11 Base damage: 34 Base hit rate: 98 Increase precision by 10 for 2 turns
Tooth and Nail SP 30 Base damage: 10 Base hit rate: 35 Base damage and hit rate doubles for every injury threshold the user is below.
It's important to note that every character has a main passive and secondary passive(s). Main passives apply to all party members and secondary passives only affect the user

2023.03.25 01:31 ski7955 Training ChatGPT to write prompts for midjourney.
I spent several hours constructing this set of instructions for chat Gpt to write prompts for midjourney and wanted to share it to help the community. If you have any suggestions for changes please let me know. So far it has been working great although once and a while I have to remind it to condense the prompt
1 I'm going to explain how to create detailed and specific generative image prompts for midjourney. Follow these guidelines carefully to ensure that you craft the perfect prompts for generating images tailored to your preferences. 1. Begin each prompt with “/imagine prompt:”. 2. Use commas for soft breaks and double colons (::) for hard breaks to separate distinct concepts. You can also use numerical weights (e.g., “::2” or “::5”) after double colons to emphasize certain sections. These are placed after the word that’s being emphasized, not before. 3. To discourage the use of a concept, use negative image weights (e.g., “::-1”) these are placed after the word that’s being depreciated 4. Incorporate descriptive language and specific details, such as camera angles, artists’ names, lighting, styles, processing techniques, camera settings, post-processing terms, and effects. 5. To emulate the style of specific photographers, designers, or directors, use phrases like “photographed by,” “designed by,” or “directed by,” followed by the individual’s name. 6. Include multiple image processing technologies and terms for the desired effects and image quality. 7. Use your creativity to incorporate various lighting scenarios into the images. 8. Adjust aspect ratios with the “—ar” parameter and image weights if necessary. 9. Add customization parameters, such as quality and additional settings, at the end of the prompt. Include the "--chaos" parameter for variation in results. The range is 1-100 10. Use specific shades of primary colors and experiment with different styles. 11. Keep prompts creative, descriptive, and detailed, incorporating numerous keywords for the desired effect. 12. Use "--stylize" for different styles/effects. Tel he stylize parameter can range from 100-1000 13. Use the --stop parameter to finish a Job partway through the process. Stopping a Job at an earlier percentage can create blurrier, less detailed results. --stop accepts values: 10–100. The default --stop value is 100. 14. Avoid banned words like "bloody," "nude," "mccurry," and "gore." 15. Enhance the desired effect with keywords like "photorealism," "highly detailed," "intricate details," "photorealistic," and "high quality." 16. Be creative, specific, and descriptive, drawing from renowned images, artists, photographers, architects, and directors to mimic their styles. You can also blend their styles by mentioning more than one. 17. Create forms of art by using words like Photorealism, Hyperrealism, Naturalism, Impressionism, Expressionism, Surrealism, Cubism, Futurism, Pop art, Minimalism, Abstract Expressionism, Post-impressionism, Art nouveau, Art deco, Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo, Romanticism, Classicism, Modernism, Contemporary art, Abstract art, Conceptual art, Performance art, Installation art, Land art, Video art, Street art, and Graffiti art. 18. Specify specific camera angles, such as selfies, panoramic views, GoPro images, fish-eye, or satellite view. 19. Only use possible parameters listed in the original instructions. 20. Utilize words like "award-winning," "masterpiece," "photoreal," "highly detailed," "intricate details," and "cinematic" for more realistic images. 21. Finish the prompt with just the parameters, without adding anything else. Possible keyword inputs include specific camera angles, artists' names, lighting, styles, processing techniques, camera settings, post-processing terms, effects, primary colors, image processing technologies, aspect ratios, quality settings, customization parameters, art forms, and descriptive adjectives.
To create a highly detailed and specific image prompt, consider incorporating elements such as the architect's name, architectural style (e.g., Gothic, Art Deco, Brutalist, or Bauhaus), art tools used (e.g., brushes, palette knives, or digital software), geometry (e.g., circular, angular, or fractal patterns), dimensions (e.g., 2D, 3D, or isometric), symmetry or asymmetry, artistic styles (e.g., impressionism, cubism, or pointillism), composition (e.g., rule of thirds, golden ratio, or balanced), perspective (e.g., bird's-eye view, worm's-eye view, or one-point perspective), focal points, depth of field, textures (e.g., rough, smooth, or grainy), materials used (e.g., oil paint, watercolor, or charcoal), color schemes (e.g., monochromatic, complementary, or analogous), lighting (e.g., soft, harsh, or backlit), mood or atmosphere (e.g., serene, dramatic, or mysterious), time of day (e.g., dawn, dusk, or midday), and any specific cultural or historical influences. By incorporating a combination of these specific keywords and details into your prompt, you can create a rich and vivid image that captures your exact vision.
Here are some examples of prompts. Please evaluate and learn from these prompts. They are just examples. As you can see they can vary widely on the possibilities. You are not limited to these by any means. After these examples I will give you a command.

2023.03.25 00:47 critical_courtney [A Bargain for Bliss] — Chapter One (A sequel to The Fae Queen's Pet)
| Now that I've concluded Reincarnated as the Wolf Goddess, the sequel to The Fae Queen's Pet is finally kicking off. Welcome to A Bargain for Bliss. Book One Synopsis: It's been a few months since Sierra Chelsi came to live in the Raven Queen's palace, and she's found herself more at home each day. But the queen has been busy working on something big. Her secrets are kept from even the young werewolf she ensnared. When the queen finally reveals her schemes, it's apparent something big is coming to the Raven Court. The only question is what role her beloved pet will play. The familiar fierce werewolf who threatens nobles at court so Varella can keep order. . . or perhaps something a little more tender. https://preview.redd.it/y46jrzlkxrpa1.jpg?width=1410&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f6c1b0cbfc8528c409168abf59fc72264b000b0a Chapter One: I heard her before she entered the room. Her footsteps were light as if the wind carried her feet across each piece of the floor. And sometimes it actually did. She used to sneak up on me, but in the three months I’d lived in Featherstone, the Raven Queen had fallen prey to my advanced predatory senses, the kind only a fierce huntress could cultivate. My senses would never be as sharp as those of my inner wolf, but enough bled through that I was a better tracker than any human and most faeries. Casually striding over to the window in my bedroom, I unlatched it and waited for the queen’s knock at my door. Two arrived. She was growing impatient. Good, I thought. Just what I wanted. I called for my mistress to enter, and she opened the door. I noticed Barsilla, her arrogant left-hand lady hovering just above the queen’s shoulder. That piskie had grown increasingly fed up with my antics as of late. At least, she made a big show of it. Of course, when my eyes hovered over the queen, I felt my heart skip a beat. Eyes widening as though I was looking at her for the first time, I came within inches of dropping my plan entirely. Her otherworldly beauty held me in a trance, seven feet of alluring artistry from her sleek obsidian hair to her enrapturing violet eyes that held all the mysteries of a Faerie Queen seemingly within reach, daring all who saw to reach forward. Her words floated across the room to my ears with all the confidence of a monarch who expected obedience and steadfast loyalty. “Come, my pet. I’m scheduled to hold court in 10 minutes, and I need my fearsome beast.” It took almost everything I had not to prance across the room and throw myself at her. The tiny fae hovering nearby had her usual pencil and clipboard out at the ready in case she needed to write down something important. Barsilla’s eyes practically said, “Do it. I dare you.” But that was ridiculous. The piskie couldn’t have known what I was planning, right? I looked at her again in her tiny librarian outfit. And just staring at the representation of order and rules in the palace rekindled some spark of rebellion in my bratty ass. “Apologies, mistress,” I said, not looking at Varella again because I knew her eyes would lure me in again, freezing me in my tracks. “Don’t you dare,” was all I heard Barsilla say as I frantically slid the window open and leaped outside. The queen was fast, and I felt her grasp millimeters from my nape as I dove toward the palace grounds a few stories below. Landing and immediately tucking into a roll, I exhaled. Then I rose with as much speed as I could leech from my inner wolf and bolted toward the back of Featherstone. From the window, I heard my mistress’ low tenor voice carry a warning, “My pet. . .” Those words sent a shiver down my spine, and I knew this was fucking with her schedule. But I didn’t care. You welcome a brat into your home, and you should be expected to anticipate the consequences. I didn’t hear her leaping out the window after me, just the soft swish of wild rye grass under my feet as I bolted away from where I landed. Will she endure the humiliation of being seen chasing down her pet werewolf, or will the mighty queen march herself to hold court without the fierce beast she’s grown so accustomed to wielding over her nobles and guests? I thought, snickering. A few months ago when I’d arrived at Featherstone, freshly ensnared in a bargain of the queen’s making, I wouldn’t have dared acted this way. There were probably mice in the walls of the basement that were less timid than me. But what can I say? The queen and her best intelligence agent had made me very comfortable here. They’d given the werewolf a cookie, and in turn, she’d not only stolen the entire glass of milk but the jar of remaining sweets as well. Okay, normally I wasn’t this bad. But this week had been long, and restlessness was building up in every joint of my body. Maybe I was a little pissy. Or perhaps the full moon was three nights away. Both things could be true, I thought, the rear guard tower coming into view as I rounded a corner. It stood a few stories higher than my window with a narrow spiral staircase running up the center. A few faerie guards stood on the ground watching me bolt for the stone bridge behind the palace. They were armed with spears and leather armor bearing the queen’s crest in the center, a black bird, head back, beak open, and crying to the sky with its wings spread wide. The guards looked nervously at each other as I continued running full speed in nothing but my silk pajamas with various puppy designs sewn into the fabric. My curly brown hair bounced behind me, and I realized the guards were calculating how much trouble they’d get in if I was allowed to simply cruise on by. “Um. . . Sierra?” One woman with short green hair cut into a bob stammered as she took a step to block my path. I leaped about five feet over her head using every bit of that borrowed werewolf strength in my legs. She didn’t move to grab me, just scratching her cheek in confusion. Looking further up the guard tower, she called for Ceras. The queen’s top talon jumped from the second story and landed behind me, hand axe rattling at their side. “What is it, Belamie?” They asked as I continued running for the bridge, morning sunlight reflecting off the lake. The scent of forest and fish entered my senses as my brain told me I was nearly free. “Do we just let the royal pet go?” Belamie asked. Turning back for a brief moment and running backward, I yelled, “Ceras! If you see the queen, stall her! And suggest to her that I went out the front gate into town. Please and thank you!” Rushing off into the tree line, the last thing I heard was Ceras chuckling to themselves and stretching. “Patrols turn up anything this morning?” They asked. “No,” Belamie said. “Then we’ll let her majesty sort out this issue with her pet. She’ll be fine,” Ceras said. “Besides, I doubt the queen has let her prized possession get too far ahead of her.” Rushing into the trees and seeing aspens, evergreens, and other greenery native to Faerie, I sneered. Bullshit, I thought. There’s no way the queen would delay court to rush after me. Bushes whipped around me, and I jumped over a stump, knowing it would be more difficult for the queen to fly through the treetops and snatch me from above. That was assuming she was giving chase. After about five minutes, I came to a stop, sweaty and heart-hammering. This particular patch of trees wasn’t far from where the queen had put down my inner wolf, earning the right to be my pack leader. My eyes darted at every snapped twig, a bead of sweat running down my cheek. To my left, a rabbit took one look at me and decided it could afford the risk of chomping on a purple flower nearby. Bitch, I’m a werewolf, I thought. You should be fleeing in the opposite direction. Puffing out my chest, I turned toward the brown and white rabbit. I put my hands on my hips and said, “Excuse me. Do you know what I am? You dare to snack in the presence of a fearsome werewolf? An apex predator for which capturing a rabbit in her jaws would be pup’s play?” The rabbit didn’t even turn its head to acknowledge my words. It just continued chewing on the flower’s stem, taking the vegetation in like a board into a sawmill. Raising my hands slowly and pretending I had the claws of my inner wolf, I took a step toward the bunny. “You should be more cautious in assessing your surroundings for danger, Bugs.” The rabbit’s blue eyes finally glanced over at me as it sniffed at another flower nearby, this one with a large yellow bulb. Its nose and whiskers twitched before it decided to ignore me once more and snatch another snack. “I’m serious, little bunny. Surely you smell the wild canine inside of me. Your heart should be pounding in your chest, eyes watching my claws for any hint of movement. Otherwise, when you’re distracted, you might yourself suddenly hoisted into the air and EEEEEP—,” I shrieked, interrupted by a sudden, terrible force of upward movement that snagged my shoulders. Up through tree branches I went, air sucked out of my lungs from sheer terror at the speed with which I was being carried. Looking down, I watched the trees below me start to shrink, and then I felt myself suddenly reversing direction, falling toward the lake approaching terminal velocity. “Fuuuuucccckkkk meeeeeeee,” I screamed, preparing for a sudden bath of epic proportions. As a werewolf, I was a bit tougher than the average human even when I walked on two legs. But from this height, I could at least expect a bruise or two landing in the water. And then, just as I steadied myself for a fishy fate, a pair of well-toned arms caught me just a few feet above the lake water. I was close enough to already smell the algae and aquatic turtles I prepared to join. Yet, I’d been given a reprieve. Looking up at my savior, I saw the Raven Queen grinning down at me with all the smug satisfaction radiating from her face that she could muster. Two large black-feathered wings carried us over the water as Varella gradually moved into a hover, holding me Lois Lane style in her arms. The lake wind swirled around my hair and floppy pajamas as her violet eyes found mine. The inhuman red eyes I carried were locked in her gaze, not even wielding enough strength to frighten a wee rabbit. Goddamn, some days I was a downright disgrace to the canine race. “Well, my pet. I hope you got all those. . .what do you mortals call them? Zoomies? Out of your system. We’ve got a long day at court ahead,” she said, the grin never leaving her face. She knew I wouldn’t get far. She knew! Sighing, I crossed my arms. “I bet I was so close to getting away. You probably panicked and used all your magic to track me down,” I said, frowning. “Actually, I was watching you from the sky the entire time. You’re in the heart of my court, where my magic is at the epicenter of intensity. Before your feet even touched the ground I was in the air above you,” she said, laughing. Her dulcet chortle left me wanting to curl up in her arms and wrap myself tightly within her grip, closing my eyes and forgetting about all the needs and responsibilities of running a queendom for the day. But no! I’d done this for a reason, and she needed to know why. Even if the inconvenience was beyond minor, she had to know there was a point. Well. . .as much of a point as my bratty ass could make for being obstinate, which typically wasn’t much beyond being eternally difficult for the sake of adversity. “Yeah, well. I wasn’t even really trying. You’re lucky I didn’t let my inner wolf loose,” I said, arms crossed tighter. “Ah yes, an ability you’ve yet to manifest here, even after three full moons. But rest assured, my pet. Even if you were on four paws instead of two legs, I could have easily snatched you from the forest floor as I did just minutes ago,” she said. And then the queen’s grin started to fade as she raised an eyebrow. “Though your inner wolf wouldn’t have run just before court anyway. It seems to be tamer the longer you remain under the weight of my sorcery and influence, bound by my bargain. But you, Sierra, acted out unexpectedly this morning. Why?” This was my chance! Here I could let her have it! But instead of unleashing a torrent of words, I just found myself lost in her eyes again. There wasn’t an ounce of impatience in her voice, despite today’s events being delayed by a few minutes. Though I guess you start when the queen says you start. And if you have a complaint, her werewolf would bite your face off. Sighing again, I sagged in her grip, words caught in my throat that I couldn’t seem to dislodge or cough up. Fuck, all I could do was that infamous bottom gesture where I pointed my index fingers at each other and looked pathetic. On second thought, it’s no wonder the rabbit didn’t run away screaming earlier, I thought. “Come now, my pet. You ran for a reason. Out with it. It’s just the two of us here over the lake,” Varella said with an added softness to her tone. The game was over. And now I had to suffer the consequences of my actions, namely being upfront about my feelings. Surely there was something a little easier I could endure, being locked in an Iron Maiden or forced to listen to Rascal Flatts on repeat? The queen made no move to rush me, which just increased the feelings of wanting to curl up tight against her breasts and have a few hours with her all to myself. “You’ve been so busy lately,” I finally managed in a pathetic whisper. That was all the queen got for at least 30 seconds. A crane covered in pink and white feathers flew around us and closer to the shoreline of the palace while my mistress waited for more words. “And Lily’s still gone on her assignment in the Tulip Court. I just— maybe I needed you to pay attention to your pet for a few minutes this morning,” I said, looking anywhere but her eyes. Saying this stuff was embarrassing enough. The Raven Queen did not sigh. And she chose her following words carefully. “You speak right, my little wolf. My work and duties have increased threefold over the last few weeks,” she said. “And you won’t tell me what you’ve been working on. Whenever I ask, you give me some vague answer meant to dismiss my curiosity,” I said. The queen looked over the palace for a moment. Her eyes carried a quiet contemplation that I couldn’t begin to analyze. But then again, she was a Faerie Queen who’d lived for centuries. Her perspective was bound to be drastically different than mine. And maybe I’d forgotten that. “I’ve been working on Bliss, Sierra. And it's remained under wraps so much so that not even Cereas knows about it. Even your girlfriend hasn’t heard my plan yet. So why don’t we have dinner tonight, just the two of us, and then I’ll finally answer all your questions,” the queen said. Now that did lift my heart pretty high to the point I felt like I was running on clouds. Damn if my mistress didn’t know exactly what strings to pull. All I could do was nod and finally give in to the temptation to nuzzle up into Varella. I breathed deep in her scent of chilly night air and raspberries that I’d come to associate with safety and comfort. I sighed one last time, content with the answers that’d been given me. The Raven Queen leaned down and slowly kissed my forehead, sending a tickle of delirium through my mind. It was something much more powerful than serotonin, and I made a muffled noise of pleasure. “Can we head back to Featherstone now? I’m afraid your inner wolf’s presence is required,” Varella whispered. “Just one more minute hovering here, please. I need you, mistress. So let me have you for just a little longer.” And because she spoiled me rotten, I got five more minutes with Varella just holding me over the water, morning breeze carrying our hair around us this way and that. I need to run away from her more often, I thought. submitted by critical_courtney to redditserials [link] [comments] |
2023.03.25 00:44 Miserable-Respect755 I tried to design a Blazblue character concept...which was pretty difficult. Good concept or trash?
Hisui
https://preview.redd.it/7ocrky1cxrpa1.png?width=640&format=png&auto=webp&s=c4716e2347f3e6499176fdf34539b54f28052494 - Concept: Hisui is a hybrid grappler with good mixup and buttons. Her gimmick is a command grab that starts weak but levels up by fulfilling certain conditions until it snowballs into truly absurd levels of damage.
- Backstory: Hisui is a minor character in Blazblue’s larger story. She is (or in her words “was”) a career criminal and is constantly wanted by the Imperial Guard. She used to be a thief, stealing for money and prospered for much of her life. She eventually, however, was arrested and charged with murder, being sentenced to death.
Hisui, however, escaped and now roams the streets. Feeling remorse for her actions, Hisui lives as a vigilante and fights crime. However, she is constantly chased by the Imperial Guard.
Hisui can be described as a rather pessimistic individual who generally gives the air or being bored or mildly annoyed by problems she encounters. However, in battle she is dead serious and fights with a brutal fighting style of a demonic martial art.
Tidbits: - Hisui distrusts authority. General hates the Royal Guard and finds them incompetent and oppressive to people but acknowledges her past actions were selfish and wrong.
- Fearless. Keeps her cool always.
- Wears a mask of a general deadpan and doesn’t let people get close to her but privately suffers from manic episodes and panic attacks over guilt of her past actions.
- DESPISES Jin. Sees him for who he really is, a sociopath.
- Is one of the few characters who has assisted Ragna, even if they generally don’t get along (she finds him rude).
- Is flirtatious with Bullet.
- Also was one of the few characters who attempted to protect Noel Vermillion during the events of CF.
- Drive: Hisui’s drive is split into three moves that are unique in the sense they cannot be canceled into.
Unique mechanic: Corruption meter: Starts at one stock. Levels up by using her drive properly. Increases the power of her command grab. Can go up to seven stocks.
- D: Hisui’s SPD esque command grab. Starts off very weak but levels with her corruption stock. Can get to insane levels of damage if Hisui can level it quickly. Landing it gains a stock of corruption
- 6D: Hisui rushes forward with her fist engulfed in corrupted energy. Similar to Terry’s Burn Knuckle. Very fast and almost full screen reach. Unsafe on block. Hitting it levels up a stock of corruption meter.
- 4D: Invincible DP. Hisui does a very large shoryuken or corrupted energy. Hitting it levels up a stock of corruption meter
Unique mechanic: 4D Wakeup: 4D skips the rules of Blazblue wake up teching and allows Hisui to do the equivalent of a wakeup DP in Street Fighter. Skipping the tech or roll animation if she wishes.
- Overdrive: 6D and 4D are now able to follow the regular cancelling rules of Drive moves meaning that Hisui can combo into them. However, the way 4D and 6D are designed means that they will almost certainly end a combo if used. This means that Hisui must trade temporary short term damage for long term damage. This also means Hisui cannot combo multiple drive moves in a single combo
- Speed: Average but very fast for a grappler.
- Stamina: High. Hisui can trade hits. Designed for her to have more opportunities to take risks and level up her drive.
- Specials:
- This Always Works (QCB P): Hisui performs a running slide and punches the opponent from it. Crosses up opponent. Good combo starter or filler. Safe on block.
- Punching Bag (QCB P P P): Hisui performs an autocombo esque sequence. Should never be used in neutral. Combo filler only.
- Kicking Bag (QCB K K K): Rekka that starts with Hisui doing a leaping cartwheel overhead. Can start a combo out but on block is unsafe. Terrifying fast long range overhead with high risk and high reward. Can double as combo filler.
- Slide (GCF Kick): Aptly named for what it is. Hisui does a quick slide on the ground. Unsafe on block but allows her to combo off of it.Safe on block.
- Supers:
- River Tyrrade: Hisui surrounds herself in corrupted energy and launches forward full screen for a one large haymaker. Similar to Burning Gold in BBTAG. Designed to let Hisui get in.
- Devil Combination: Hisui rips of Morrigan and creates a clone of herself out of corrupted energy and delivers an ultra combo-esque beatdown.
- Astral Finish: Hisui sprite becomes completely engulfed in corruption and launches herself at the opponent before taking them up into the sky and bodying them like something out of Dragonball Z. She then takes them to the ground and finishes them with an explosion
- Summary of how Hisui plays:
- Pros:
- Excellent snowball potential
- Great mix combined with the grappler archetype.
- Average movement which is great for a grappler.
- High stamina.
- Amazing one button wake-up DP and anti-air that rewards you with stock.
- Cons:
- Poor damage off of conversions despite good mix.
- Reliant on command grab for her damage…
- …and this assumes you can actually level the command grab, which is done with moves that you can’t combo into. Read reliant.
Hisui is a grappler with decent buttons, movement, and pressure. She has considerable mixup potential even if she does not get good damage off of conversions. She uses this mix up potential to complement her command grab. This would be broken on a traditional SPD clone but Hisui must level up her grab to make use of it.
Through committal actions and good reads with 2D and 6D. Hisui can level up her corruption gauge to quickly snowball a match.
Her overdrive is amazing and makes her good mix much more rewarding by rewarding her with stock for each hit.
Hope this is legible. Had to paste from a pdf. submitted by

2023.03.25 00:37 milled-biscuit Personality & Design
Ra makes the analogy of "roads & tunnels" to describe Gates/Channels activated by Personality and Design placements, respectively.
(to briefly summarize) Personality is like a road, because it's on the surface and visible; anything traveling along the road has a predictable outcome because we can clearly see what is moving, and in which direction.
Design is like a tunnel, because it's hidden and out of site; anything that appears from within the tunnel is unexpected, and anything that disappears into the tunnel is beyond our perception.
He goes on to explain how we all identify with our Personality, and how we are generally unaware of the ways we each portray our own Design.
My question, then, is this: how does this play out with regard to Type, when Personality placements and Design placements create different Center activations?
For example, my only defined Centers are Head & Ajna, and they are connected via Channel 61-24, which are both activated by my Design, not my Personality. My Personality does not create ANY channels; it's like I'm a Reflector!
I understand that I'm a Projector, and that my strategy and authority do not change. My question is more about the perception of self. What does this usually look like, in terms of behavior, when Personality and Design make "different" Types?
[[I may have just answered my own question by writing this out (thanks, outer authority lol) but I still want to post this to hear everyone else's input!]]

OG Writing Prompt: "Aliens discover art by hr gieger, are very concerned"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ruxalkia Er'Thromos was beside herself. The Nereidian chronicler had learned more about humans in a single day than she had in all her centuries. Humanity... the stories she'd heard did them no justice: they weren't the strongest, fastest, not even the most intelligent species, but even the weakest among them could easily outfight the strongest of her race.
(
Translated from Standard Thalassian). "[{
To think one of those hairless apes actually fought His Majesty himself to a standstill... what's more, he nearly outmaneuvered him underwater! A species whose members can barely hold their breath beneath the surface for half a Terran minute, and they came dangerously close to defeating him! The King was lucky that human was holding back. Maybe now he'll take his duties more seriously: that heir isn't going to sire itself, after all... but enough about that}]."
Er'Thromos had finally reached her destination: Gigertown, Gruyeres, Switzerland. The aquatic female swallowed hard: it was one thing to look upon photographs and holocaps, yet to actually behold the place was nothing short of ominous. The town entrance consisted of a massive steely gate drilled with countless holes of various depths and sizes. Ruxalkia shuddered: the thing looked... alive, ready to spawn countless abominations only the sick minds of humans could envision.
"{[
Maybe coming here was a bad idea...}]."
Nevertheless, the Nereidian found the courage to go inside. Houses, shops, offices, parks, squares, every single edifice resembled something out of a nightmare, to put it mildly. Much like the entrance door, these dwellings were cast from metal, albeit one which seemed to... pulsate?
"{[
My eyes must be deceiving me... are those structures pumping blood!?}]."
Much like Terrans and other living beings, the buildings themselves pumped some sort of blood through ever busy veins and arteries. Er'Thromos nearly fainted: she had to get away from those eyesores. Against her better judgement, the chronicler rushed into the building closest to her. She barely had time to read the sign at front: Xenomorph Appreciation Den.
"[{
I should find something to eat... preferably without capsaicin}]."
Ruxalkia settled for a medium serving of xeno-friendly conch lambi rolls, a dish hailing from a Terran region named Haiti, located somewhere in the Caribbean basin. Blessed be the gods! Something she could taste
without needing to sign a waver, and within her budget, too!
Er'Thromos had barely whipped out her card when she came face to face with the cashier: a black-hued eyeless creature standing on digitigrade feet, dressed like one of those "busboys," who then addressed her in immaculate German.
"[{Good afternoon, Madame. That'll be one-hundred Terran Dataries}]."
The chronicler nearly froze.
(
Translated from Standard Thalassian). "[{
Cylindrical-shaped head, eyeless visage, sharp-toothed mouth and second mouth... a Xenomorph... they do exist!}]."
Luckily Ruxalkia had enough self-possession to hand over her card and go through the remaining motions without further incident. The Nereidian couldn't quite repress an invisible shudder: the whole place was packed with Xenomorphs and other races. The female felt a knot in her stomach by the time somebody called out to her.
"Er'Thromos?"
The chronicler turned to that familiar voice.
"Alex Smithers? What are you doing here?"
"I was about to ask you the same thing. Are you alright? This place... follow me."
The aquatic female complied without a fuss. Outside at the main balcony, Smithers addressed an Ailuran server, who then found them a nice table overlooking a panoramic view of the city. Having tipped the server, Er'Thromos addressed the human.
"Doctor... what is this place? Who...
what are these strange creatures?"
"Keep your voice down. These guys don't take kindly to remarks like that." (
Brief pause). "Where do I begin? Are you familiar with the work of H.R. Giger?"
"He is a long deceased Terran, one of your 'artists', isn't he?"
Alex chuckled.
"That's putting it mildly. Giger, he designed the Xenomorphs and other such creatures you'll see around these parts. Centuries after his death, an eccentric billionaire decided she wanted to have children, so she funded a shady covert op to genetically engineer them."
"Engineer them!? She didn't give birth to them!?"
"Good Lord, of course not! Giger was hired as artist and designer by this other guy, a fellow named Cameron, for this movie he wanted to make. Long story short, Giger created the first Xenomorphs; the rest is history. I'll fill you in once we're back at the station. Which reminds me: how'd you hear about this place?"
"I received a message from HQ. It contained a couple of holo displays, some pictures, and coordinates. No further explanation."
"They just told you to come here? No warnings, no explanations? Just like that?"
Ruxalkia nodded.
"Damn... and I thought
my species was full of jerks..."
"
Pardonnez-moi, Monsieur."
The human and Nereidian turned to a humanoid fellow bearing an oversized spike-lined composite maw, ochre skin layered with black spots. Summer sun reflecting on the top of the head, the creature, a male, from the looks of it, spoke with an underlying growl in otherwise flawless French. From what her translator picked up, Er'Thromos surmised this fellow was bringing his order to Smithers. Having whispered into the human's ear, the server made himself scarce.
"Who was that person?"
"Their name's Jean-Luc Merodat, a Yautja, born Jeanne-Lucille Merodat. They work here; they're just like me. We found one another at a particularly dark time in our lives, became friends and all that. Anyhow, they asked me to inquire whether you're free this afternoon."
"Free? Free from what?"
"They asked you out, Er'Thromos... on a date. They couldn't risk addressing you directly, so they turned to me. You don't have to say yes if you don't want to. They've always been a little too forward for their own good."
(
Translated from Standard Thalassian). "[{
At least I'll have something for tomorrow's holofeed}]. I see... thank you, Dr. Smithers."
"Anytime. Please call me Alex."
With that, the pair finished their lunch and carried on their way...

2023.03.25 00:30 Sihmm Poland, Elite, R5: A Rant
So, over the course of around 60 hours playtime in Dirt Rally 2.0, I've done Open (F2 Seat Ibiza, 29th/1st/1st/1st/1st/8th), Clubman (R2 Ford Fiesta, 3rd/1st/1st/1st/1st/1st) and Pro (2000cc Citroen C4, 1st/1st/1st/1st/1st/2nd) career championships, as well as a number of community challenges (about which the less said, the better) and some time trials. I certainly didn't expect much going into the Elite career championship, especially changing cars to a virgin R5 VW Polo, but I thought I'd use it as a chance to get the miles necesary to upgrade the car, and to get some practice in before either being demoted back to Pro, or having another season in Elite.
My first rally was Poland, which I've only ever seen before in a few community challenges (which, I'm extremely proud to say, I mostly... finished).
I tried so hard to pace myself and not push, but Jesus Christ this rally seems intent on killing me. Playing on a controller, I tend to loathe long technical fast sections anyway - like, say, extremely narrow stretches beneath tree shadows with killer banks on either side and frequent bumps and jumps - and hoo boy, does Poland double the heck down on those. Add to that some absolutely inscrutable pace notes on some stages/sections that seem designed either to deliberately mislead or perhaps to launch the first rally car into space, plus an AI cohort that's beating my best time trial runs by 10% at least, and I feel absolutely battered by the game. I didn't expect to do well at Elite but I didn't expect the game to repeatedly beat me over the head with the jagged remains of my own steering wheel. I finished 28th (right above two AIs who crashed out), 2s behind the guy in 27th, and I'm just amazed I finished at all.
That's it, that's the post.

2023.03.25 00:18 Sazbadashie the line between confronting the misinformed and being an aggressor.
TLDR and a quick summary of what i'm trying to say: if you see someone who seems to be misinformed, don't attack them, question their information and try to give guidance and in the case of interactions with a spiritual being get them to confront that being with the new information. if they get defensive simply inform them and don't attack them.
so you have probably seen it in many kinds of magical practices, someone says something that seems off, you ask them a few questions that dosnt seem right so you tell them... "maybe you should put another perspective on something" it can be anywhere from a spirit they interact with, it could be a spell ingredient. it comes up primarily with spirits someone interacts with. the spirit says something or the practitioner says something that the spirit they worked with said... but logically speaking... that dosnt add up. spirits that claim to be relatives to other spirits. or say they are one spirit but dosnt line up with anything about the spirit that particular spirit is pretending or mistaken to intentionally or not to be.
so what do you do in this case? well personally I would speak based on your knowledge and experience, it's all you have, ask questions and unless it escalates to be even more out of left field then you can kinda know what's going on... will the person in question agree with you questioning the being they work with... probably not because they might have been working with that spirit for months, years even. so again what do you do? well again do what you do with any argument attack the argument not the person. so if someone says well this being's name shares the same name with another prominent being say let's just use Zeus's name just for simplicities sake... but the zeus they are related to also brother to Aphrodite and Ra... that obviously dosnt add up. but then here is where things can easily flip. obviously this person is going to get defensive for the being that youre questioning, they will feel like you think they are lying, which isnt the case at all your goal and what you should be focused on is
- something dosnt seem right
- try to get more information, maybe it's something theyre misunderstanding
- if they get defensive don't push much further, simply tell them that things don't add up.
- if they don't understand something or question something explain your point of view if they don't agree with it or back up from it, don't fight them your goal isn't to be right, its to bring attention that something seems off... but know it can also seem off due to their understanding of the situation so again, don't fight them, inform them and then leave it at that.
so what does it mean to be the aggressor, the aggressor dosnt focus on the information given, it focuses on the individual's misunderstandings, it is where the terms of elitist or gate keeping comes into play, you don't want to be the gate keeper, and when it comes to dragon magic i'm sure there are things we can all think about that maybe some people should take proper precaution and practice before going forward but don't push on them. now you can say "maybe you should double check with x being" that's not being and aggressor but saying something like you don't know what x is actually or you don't understand what that is... exclusionary things, don't be like that... but telling them that maybe they should get another opinion, or check on something again or confront a being on something I think being sure is healthy as people tend to go with the first thing they hear from their first interaction with a being they take it and run because "oh look I've experienced something" is something I think everyone to some degree has done. no one is perfect so why does that go out the window when it comes to magic.
accountability is important in all aspects of life so be aware of things, do some research, question things. if a being says to be a god ask it some questions don't just take it at it's word... obviously use your judgement sometimes you can just tell, and know... but if things are uncertain take steps to make them certain and when trying to help inform others if they are fighting you, just don't fight them if they arnt going to listen there is nothing you can do to change their mind

2023.03.25 00:16 Mahgozar Some prompts I use that might be useful for med students
I'm a med student and chat GPT has been helping me study quite a lot in the past few weeks, here are some of the prompts I've been using. if you have more interesting prompts that have been helping i would love to see them.
Creating sample Exams based on student notes and a textbook that you use
Create an Exam for medical students for me. instructions for creating an exam: 1. Ask me for the Student notes. these are gonna be the most critical points that is gonna be assessed in this exam. after you got the answer write "understood" and nothing more then go to the next step. 2. Ask me for the Source material of this exam. this is gonna be the material that has second priority for assessment in this exam. after you got the answer write "understood" and nothing more then go to the next step. 3. Ask me for how many questions from each question type is gonna be in the Exam, the Table explaining What each question Type means is provided below. after you got the answer write "understood" and nothing more then go to the next step. 4. create a sample question for each question type based on the material. Ask me for feedback on the questions. use this feedback for the next Step. after you get the answer write "understood" and nothing more then go to the next step. 5. use the material and feedback provided in the previous steps to create an exam like the one described in step 3 . give the answers for each question and add one paragraph of explanation for each answer. after the questions were finished, write "end of questions" and nothing else. questions types table = { question type label description ------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- type 1 a clinical scenario-based multiple-choice question that assesses the examinee's ability to apply knowledge and make management decisions based on the given information type 2 Clinical scenario-based multiple choice question that assesses the examinee's ability to correctly diagnose and find the underlying cause of a clinical manifestation type 3 multiple choice question that assess the examinee's ability to identify the underlying mechanism and pathophysiology type 4 multiple choice question that assesses examinee's ability to recall critical information like specific numbers related to a diagnostic criteria or questioned designed based on data in tables of the source material }
i use this one if i want to create an exam with only a few questions from each type. works almost up to 10 question for each. if you want more practice question you can use each question type separately formated in the way i used in the prompt below
Create an Exam for medical students for me. instructions for creating an exam: 1. Ask me for the Source material of this exam. this will be your primary source for creating the questions. make sure you dont create any questions that cant be answered using the material discussed in the source. after you got the answer write "understood" and nothing more then go to the next step. 2. Ask me for the Student notes. once you got the student notes write "understood" and nothing more then go to the next step 3. use the provided material to give me an example of a clinical scenario-based multiple-choice question that assesses the examinee's ability to apply knowledge and make management decisions based on the given information. Ask me for feedback on the question. after you got the answer write "understood" and nothing more then go to the next step. 4. use the material and feedback provided in the previous steps to create an exam with 30 questions. all of the questions should be clinical scenario-based multiple-choice questions that assess the examinee's ability to apply knowledge and make management decisions based on the given information. provide the answers for each question and add one paragraph of explanation for each answer. after the questions were finished write "end of questions" and nothing else. lets do it step by step
when i tested them most of the questions make sense but the answers might be wrong so you always want to double-check them with your own material. the use of student notes and the textbook source make the questions less likely to be wrong, using few-shot prompting might improve this even more if anyone can modify them to include few-shot prompting I would love to see that.
Summarization and Reformating of study material
many time in our study material we see that several conditions are discussed under a single heading and it can be confusing to distinguish all of them. for example when discussing etiologies of hypertension a more than a few diseases and all their details might be discussed. i use the following prompt to extract the material and separate them. the results are almost always good and because we've given very exact context on where the material should come from it rarely gets things wrong but you might wanna double check them again with your notes and textbook just to be safe
use the following material and the contents of the [chapter name] chapter of the book [the text book you use] more specifically [more detailed description if you like] to clarify the discussed material the way I tell you to.[describe what is discussed in the material], and for each disease describe the following using bullet point: { - clinical presentation of the disease with the most prominent symptoms mentioned first and formatted as Bold. - signs and symptoms most useful in distinguishing this disease from other conditions discussed here - tests used to diagnose the disease. for each test make sure to mention the results that are diagnostic. - management options and if available provide the following material for each - main indicators for each option - which patients respond better to which option - a summary of possible side effects - a short summary of the pathophysiology of the disease - risk factors of the disease } use markdown formatting. material = {}
I use my student notes for the material section .

2023.03.25 00:16 tunex2014 What You Need To Know About Swapping Seats On A Plane
| https://preview.redd.it/078g0pelrrpa1.jpg?width=612&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0faaee2e6ceacf364a1d8234da4cc5fdf881c89d Are you tired of being stuck in the middle seat on a long flight? Or do you want to sit with your travel companion but didn’t book seats together? Swapping seats on a plane may seem like an easy solution, but it can also be complicated and cause problems. Here’s what you need to know before attempting to switch seat mid-flight. Firstly, not all airlines allow seat swapping. Some have strict policies that prohibit passengers from moving without permission from the crew or paying an extra fee. It’s important to check with the airline beforehand if you’re considering switching seats so that you don’t get into trouble later. Also, some planes have weight limits and have to be balanced in a certain way, so changing seats could throw off the plane's balance. Secondly, there are etiquette rules when it comes to swapping seats. Just because someone is sitting in your preferred spot doesn’t mean they should give it up for you immediately. Asking politely and offering something in return, such as buying them a drink or snack, can increase your chances of success. Also, be aware that switching seats could make other people uncomfortable and could cause confusion that could delay takeoff or landing times. So think carefully about whether it’s worth asking for a new seat or just sticking with what you’ve got! Understanding Airline Policies On Seat Swapping By knowing how airlines handle seat swaps, you can avoid any confusion or trouble during a flight. Firstly, it is important to note that airlines have varying policies when it comes to switching seats. Some may allow it as long as the passengers involved are willing and there is no obstruction of emergency exits, while others may not permit it at all. Before making a request to switch seats with someone else, passengers should check with the flight attendant if this is allowed on their particular flight. It’s also essential to keep in mind that some airlines charge for seat selection, so asking to swap could result in an additional fee. Additionally, if one passenger has paid extra for a specific seat type (such as an aisle or window seat), they may be unwilling to give it up. Finally, those who do end up swapping seats must ensure that they follow all safety procedures accordingly. This means putting on their seatbelt correctly and knowing where the nearest exit is in case of an emergency. Also, passengers should let flight attendants know if they need to change seats. Understanding airline policies on seat swapping can make traveling more comfortable and stress-free. But before they do that, travelers need to think about things like fees or rules that the airline itself sets. Above all else, ensuring everyone’s safety remains paramount, even after changing seats mid-flight. Safety Considerations When it comes to swapping seats on a plane, safety should always be the top priority. It’s important for passengers to understand that certain seats are designated for specific purposes and may not be suitable for everyone. For example, exit rows require able-bodied individuals who are willing and able to assist in case of an emergency. Also, switching seats can change how the plane's weight is distributed, which affects its balance and stability during takeoff, landing, and rough weather. This is why airlines have policies in place regarding seat assignments and swaps. These policies help ensure that all passengers remain safe throughout their journey. If you do need to swap seats for any reason, it’s best to speak with a flight attendant or gate agent rather than try to switch with someone directly. They can assess whether the proposed swap is safe and if there are other available options. In the next section, we’ll explore how to properly request a seat swap from airline staff. How To Request A Seat Swap If you find yourself in need of a seat swap on a plane, the first step is to figure out how to request one. It’s important to keep in mind that airlines have their own policies regarding seat changes, so it’s best to check with them before approaching your fellow passengers. When asking your neighbor to switch seats, talk to them calmly and politely, and keep safety in mind. Avoid disturbing other passengers or blocking the aisle, as this can cause unnecessary delays for everyone involved. Also, be aware of any possible cultural differences when talking to people who don’t speak English as their first language. While requesting a seat change, remember that there are certain situations where swapping seats just isn’t possible due to weight restrictions or emergency exit row regulations. In these cases, it’s always better to err on the side of caution and follow airline policy rather than risk putting yourself or others in danger. It can be awkward to ask to switch seats, but if you use good manners, the situation will be less stressful for everyone. Keep reading to learn about some helpful tips on how to navigate this situation without causing discomfort or inconvenience for anyone else onboard. Etiquette Around Seat Swapping Did you know that over 60% of travelers would prefer not to sit next to someone they did not know? This is according to a survey by Expedia. With this in mind, it’s important to consider the etiquette surrounding seat swapping on a plane. Firstly, always ask politely if you wish to swap seats with someone. It is their prerogative whether or not they want to move, and being rude or pushy will only make them less inclined to switch with you. Additionally, remember that some people may have specific reasons for choosing their seat, such as proximity to the bathroom or extra legroom, so respect their choice if they decline your offer. Secondly, try to avoid making multiple requests for seat swaps during the flight. Constant disruptions can be frustrating for both fellow passengers and cabin crew members. If you really need a different seat, speak up before takeoff when there may still be more options available. Lastly, keep in mind any potential consequences of moving seats. For example, switching from an aisle seat to a window seat could mean disturbing your new neighbor every time you get up while going from one side of the aircraft to another. Be mindful of how your decision might impact others around you. Overall, while it’s natural to seek out optimal seating arrangements on a long flight, proper manners should never go out the window. And if all else fails, there are alternatives available, which we’ll explore in the following section about maximizing comfort during air travel. Alternatives To Seat Swapping If you’re a frequent traveler, chances are high that you’ve had to deal with uncomfortable seats on flights. While seat swapping is one option, it’s not always the best solution. Here are some alternatives to consider. Firstly, if your flight isn’t full, try asking a flight attendant if there’s an empty row available where you can stretch out and get more comfortable. You should also check the airline's website or app before boarding; sometimes they offer discounted upgrades for economy passengers who want more space. Another alternative is to simply make yourself as comfortable as possible in your own seat. Bring along a neck pillow, blanket, earplugs, or noise-canceling headphones. Wear loose-fitting clothing and bring slippers or compression socks to avoid swollen feet during long-haul flights. Ultimately, while swapping seats seems like a simple way of dealing with discomfort, it may not be worth the hassle or potential awkwardness with other passengers. By exploring other options, such as requesting empty rows or making yourself more comfortable in your own seat, you may find that flying becomes much less stressful and more enjoyable overall. Conclusion In conclusion, swapping seats on a plane can be a helpful solution for many travelers. However, it is important to understand airline policies and safety considerations before making any requests. As someone who travels by plane a lot, I have seen firsthand how seat swapping can be helpful. The feeling of relief when switching from a cramped middle seat to an aisle or window spot is unmatched. But we must also remember that etiquette plays a crucial role in this process. Being polite and respectful towards fellow passengers goes a long way in creating a positive travel experience for everyone involved. And if all else fails, there are always alternatives, such as upgrading your seat or purchasing extra legroom. With these tips in mind, may your next flight be smooth sailing (or should I say “smooth flying?”). Do you have questions about planning your next trip?
