2023.05.28 15:36 shiksha22 4 Strategies to Renew Your Career Passion

šŸ“·

Introduction

Feeling stuck in your career? Lost that spark of passion that used to drive you? It's time to reignite the fire and renew your career passion. In this article, we'll explore four strategies to help you rediscover your enthusiasm, find fulfillment, and thrive in your professional life.
šŸ“·

Strategy 1: Reflect on Your Why

What is your Why?

To renew your career passion, it's essential to reconnect with your purpose. Ask yourself: Why did you choose this career path in the first place? What aspects of your work bring you joy and fulfillment? Identifying your "Why" can help reignite your passion and provide a clear direction moving forward.

Explore Your Values

Consider your core values and how they align with your current career. Are you still living in accordance with your values? If not, identify the gaps and explore ways to bridge them. When your work aligns with your values, it becomes more meaningful and rewarding.

Set Meaningful Goals

Goals give you something to strive for and can reignite your career passion. Set both short-term and long-term goals that align with your aspirations. Break them down into actionable steps, and celebrate each milestone along the way. Goal-setting provides a sense of purpose and progress.
šŸ“·

Strategy 2: Learn and Grow

Embrace Lifelong Learning

To renew your career passion, embrace the mindset of a lifelong learner. Seek out new opportunities to expand your knowledge and skills. Attend workshops, conferences, or enroll in online courses related to your field. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements. The more you learn, the more inspired and engaged you'll become.

Seek Mentorship

Finding a mentor can be a game-changer for reigniting your career passion. A mentor can provide guidance, support, and valuable insights from their own experiences. Look for someone who inspires you and has achieved success in your desired area. Their guidance and wisdom can help you navigate challenges and reignite your passion.

Step Out of Your Comfort Zone

Growth often happens outside of your comfort zone. Challenge yourself by taking on new projects or responsibilities that stretch your skills. Volunteer for leadership opportunities or join professional organizations. Embracing new challenges can reignite your passion and open doors to exciting possibilities.
šŸ“·

Strategy 3: Foster Work-Life Balance

Prioritize Self-Care

To renew your career passion, it's crucial to prioritize self-care. Take care of your physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Make time for activities that bring you joy and recharge your energy. Whether it's exercising, pursuing hobbies, or spending quality time with loved ones, self-care nourishes your soul and rekindles your passion.

Set Boundaries

Maintaining a healthy work-life balance is essential for career satisfaction. Set clear boundaries between your professional and personal life. Define your working hours and stick to them. Avoid checking emails or engaging in work-related tasks during your downtime. By creating space for yourself outside of work, you'll feel more fulfilled and passionate about your career.

Practice Mindfulness

Mindfulness can help you find presence and joy in your work. Pay attention to the present moment, savoring the small wins and finding gratitude in your accomplishments. Engage fully in each task, appreciating the impact you're making. By cultivating mindfulness, you'll deepen your connection with your work and renew your career passion.
šŸ“·

Strategy 4: Explore New Opportunities

Network and Collaborate

Networking is a powerful tool for career growth and passion renewal. Attend industry events, connect with professionals on LinkedIn, and join online communities related to your field. Engage in conversations, share knowledge, and build relationships. Collaborating with like-minded individuals can spark new ideas and reignite your passion.

Consider a Career Change

If you've explored all avenues and still find your career passion dwindling, it may be time to consider a change. Reflect on your skills, interests, and values. Research alternative career paths that align with your passions. Seek guidance from career coaches or professionals in your desired field. Taking a leap of faith into something new can revitalize your career and reignite your passion.

Embrace Side Projects

Side projects offer an avenue for exploring your passions outside of your main career. Identify areas of interest or hobbies that excite you. Consider how you can turn them into small projects or entrepreneurial ventures. These side projects can inject new energy and enthusiasm into your professional life.

2023.05.28 15:31 WinterWontStopComing What do I need to know about zinnias

Good day to everyone. I’ll try not to be too long winded with this.
Been gardening for several years, mostly grow food producers. Have grown zinnias for two seasons already and starting a third.
Anywho, I recently started working as ā€œshop/event muscleā€ and doing minor creative stuff for a local florist and event decorator. And in talking bout gardening stuff one day, the conversation may have moved towards a few varieties of zin I’m doing this year and their interest in buying some of mine.
Fast forward a lil and I’m finally clearing out my germination/grow closet that has fifteen hours a day on average of artificial light with around 40 minutes of direct sunlight as well. And with the last of my ā€˜23 peppers and tomatoes transitioning outside I have the room and already budget for the electricity. So I am going to see if I can’t just consistently grow a few tiny beds worth of zinnia in there for commercial harvest.
Has anyone here had any success with zinnia growing indoors? If so, any advice?
Are you a veteran zinnia gardener? If so, what are some bits of herb lore that are good for me to know?
Any tips or suggestions will be appreciated.

2023.05.28 15:24 walkabout16 There is hope

I just wrapped up year #2 at a new school. We’ve had graduation on Friday and my department went out to lunch as a team afterwards. Our DH is leaving to a new school. I and the other colleagues threw our support behind a younger-than-me lady who is just a wonderful teammate and has all the hallmarks of a great leader. It has been a joy to watch her grow on her career path.
We have had some great, some good and some mediocre admins. Same can be said of colleagues.
I see a lot of you struggling with toxic places. Petty colleagues, horrible admins, disrespectful students.
It occurs to me that I am blessed with a team that has a high degree of emotional intelligence. 15 years ago, I couldn’t fathom the idea of my DH being this much younger than me. But a pause from teaching and an outside the school passion project has given me a better sense of what I want from life and a sincere appreciation for what my young DH brings to the table.
For my colleagues part, none of us suffer from the ā€œTeacher Martyr Complex.ā€ We all have our lives outside of the building and we respect that for everyone. The teacher martyr complex is too often a weapon that catty teachers wield against their emotionally intelligent peers who have a life outside the school. I am grateful that my team does not believe that a teacher’s job is being more than it should.
I hope those of you struggling at this point in your career can find the like minded peers to build a support network. Don’t let the martyrs guilt trip you… over time you can learn to reframe their negativity as their own cry for help. As for admins, do your best to check the right boxes and don’t feel as for looking to other schools and jumping ship when the time comes.
It’s a hard industry, especially if you get bombarded with negativity from colleagues who have a perverse understanding of what this job really entails. Good luck finding the right school fit! It makes all the difference in the world!

2023.05.28 15:22 deathhawk908 Power/Money Saving suggestions for long term server which will be empty ~90% of the time.

TLDR: Looking for automated solution to only run a server when we need it without it being super tedious to play every time. Either physical (ignore hardware costs) or cloud solution.
---
I'm looking to set up something to play long term with friends, most likely modded (probably something as big as ATM 8). We all have busy lives and can only jump on here and there (and on different time zones), at max 3 of us will be on. So there's going to be a lot of time where the server is empty (lets ignore the possibility of Chunk Loaders for now). So I'm looking for suggestions on how to make this better on the wallet/power bill, without creating something really tedious every time you want to play.
E.g. There was a guide on Google Cloud for MC hosting, that included a section for some kind of proxy so friends could turn the server on. I could imagine this would get pretty tedious to do after a while, and may be enough to prevent someone from playing.
I like Grounded's (the Video Game) recent solution to this, the save is synced in the cloud and whoever wants to play just loads that save, and a server is automatically launched ( I think this is P2P tho ).
So I'm looking for any suggestions on automating this. Is there some kind of super low power state mode/plugin for empty servers? Could I do something with a raspberry pi to act as the connection manager (maybe a hub server?), that will turn on server hardware (via LAN)? Would AWS or Google Cloud be better for this? I just know their (AWS and Google Cloud) 30 day 24/7 running costs are MUCH higher than a normal server provider (around A$100 vs A$20 per month).
What even is the resource usage of a modded server running with no one online (no chunkloaders). Should I instead focus on low idle usage hardware?
Maybe I'm just overthinking this, I just don't like the idea of a server running 24/7 when we only play once every 2 weeks. I recently tried paying 3 months with Pebblehost, for a friend and I, and we really didn't play much but it was a nice creative outlet. But the cost was really starting to get to me so we've dropped it.
So any and all suggestions would be appreciated. Even if anyone has gone down this road before and has any experiences they can share.

2023.05.28 15:17 neek555 I'm still seeing "It's Chucky's team" "Barkov should give up the captaincy" "Tkachuk needs to be captain"...No. Just no.

Before Matthew got here and showed himself to be a clutch performer and big-time producer, Barkov was under pressure to be a primary source of direct offense. But what we are seeing is the luxury of having the offense spread around. Chucky, Swaggy, the Sams, hell Montour and Ek, all producing for the team.
Barkov is a Selke award winner. He's incredible at driving offense, but he is legendary defensively. It might not be obvious and it is not sexy, but he now has a primary role that looks different than last year. He is matched against the best the other team has to offer...and has succeeded in limiting our opponent's successes. Bergeron got back in the lineup and in spite of that, it resulted in us going 3-0 the rest of the way in that series. The top 4 for Toronto were practically non-existent, Carolina's offense sputtered to a near halt. These players didn't forget how to play hockey, and of course Bob is playing at MVP levels, but Barky has the freedom to play shutdown hockey against the league's best. Every PK, every PP Barky plays a role. So many of Tkachuk's heroic and dramatic game finishers are due to Barky. Watch the game 2 overtime winner. Barky wins the faceoff in the O zone on the PP, then goes to the open space in the far corner where he digs the puck out and keeps the play going...dishes over to Bennet. Reino, Chucky and they are running into the dressing room up 2-0 in the series. Barkov doesn't even factor on the scoresheet there but he created the opportunity. This happens time and time again over the course of the game if you are paying attention.
The intangibles. I'm not privy to what is going on in the locker room but every player seems to credit Barkov with the attitude he brings every day, with the level of play he brings to practice, and with the tone he sets in the room. The referees clearly respect him and that can go a long way as well. Not to even mention that the man has creativity, and skating and stick skills that put him in the top few % of players in the world and when given an opportunity to make a jaw dropping play...shows it.
Look past the scoresheet for a player like Sasha and it's pretty easy to see that the team is his. I would bet every other player in that room would agree. This...is my Aleksander Barkov appreciation post.

2023.05.28 15:17 VW2001 Virtual Calculator in CSIR Life Sciences Exam (Post-2019)

Hello fellow CSIR Life Sciences exam takers!
I hope you're all doing well. I recently created this community to bring together individuals who have sat for the CSIR Life Sciences exam after 2019. As a first-time poster, I have a specific question related to the exam that I would appreciate your insights on.
For those who have taken the CSIR Life Sciences exam in recent years, particularly in the computer-based format, I'm curious to know whether a virtual calculator was provided during the exam. I understand that the rules and resources available during the exam might have changed over time, so I'm specifically interested in experiences after the year 2019.
If you could kindly share your experiences and let me know whether a virtual calculator was available or not, it would be extremely helpful. Your insights will not only assist me but also other community members who might have the same question.

2023.05.28 15:17 uniprojectmaterials How Students Performance Improve Their Self Esteem

Education plays a vital role in the development. It is extremely important not only for individual but also for society. Education does not mean only to get a high degree but it creates a difference between wild and civilized person. Well established and coordinated education system is able to produce educated and trained persons. A student is lying at the core of the education system. Support, may be moral or somewhat like financial, appreciation, praise, reward etc, is one of the factors that may enhance the student's grade in the class. Supportive environment have a substantial effect on student performance. Also, teacher attitude has a greater effect on the student performance.
Self-esteem is a life skill that is highly embraced by all societies at all stages of development. It is the process by which individuals rate themselves, acquire knowledge, skills and attitudes to enable them participate effectively in the society. Self-esteem education somehow determines the level of prosperity, welfare and security of people. It is the cornerstone of economic, social development and a principle means of improving the welfare of individuals. Students need to accept and value themselves to do well in their academic work.
Students’ academic performance is use of one’s aptitude in studying and making accomplishments and achievements in terms transfer of knowledge, communication skills negotiation skills and good grades and marks in examinations. However, Poor academic performance leads to students’ frustration and this can lead to negative self-esteem among learners which can later impact negatively on the economy of a country. It also causes psychological suffering to parents if they have to pay more money to take their children to other schools.
Education is activated through the cognitive, psychomotor and the affective domain. The affective domain in enhanced through life skills education, self-esteem being one of the skills. The development of life skills is a life-long process that starts in early childhood and continues throughout one’s life. Life skills education enables students to develop positive attitude towards self and others by transforming knowledge, skills and values into action .This enhances students’ abilities to make effective decisions and relate amicably with others in society. The three major categories of life skills: skills of knowing and living with oneself that include self-awareness, self-esteem, coping with emotions and coping with stress .There is the skill of knowing and living with others and that of making effective decisions. Where life skills education is well developed and practiced it can enhance the well being of society and promote positive outlook and healthy behavior among learners.
ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE
Academic performance is the measurement of student achievement across various academic subjects. Teachers and education officials typically measure achievement using classroom performance, graduation rates, and results from standardized tests.
The term ā€˜academic performance’ has been described as the scholastic standing of a student at a given moment. It refers to how an individual is able to demonstrate his or her intellectual abilities. This scholastic standing could be explained as the grades obtained in a course or groups of courses taken. Performance is a measure of output and that the main outputs in education are expressed in terms of learning, that is, changes in knowledge, skills and attitudes of individuals as a result of their experiences within the school's system. Thus, in determining academic performance, grades could serve as prediction measures and as criterion measures.
Academic performance therefore is largely identified by a range of statistical indicators. Performance is the level of attainment of a person in an examination, that is, how an individual is able to demonstrate his or her abilities in an examination. Hence, Performance has been regarded as a measure of educational output.
SELF ESTEEM
Self-esteem is the value an individual places on themselves relative to others. It is also what one believes and feels about themselves. It can also mean accepting one’s weaknesses as well as strengths, and that one feels that they deserve the respect from others. With self-esteem, one learns to build on strengths and to compensate for weaknesses. A positive self-esteem is crucial in maintaining academic performance among students.
A person’s self-esteem can be perceived as negative or positive depending on how one evaluates their worth. The value that one attaches to self leads to the level of self-esteem that they have. As a result, this level of self-esteem can influence ones performance of tasks in various situations in life. The two extremes of self-esteem are not desirable. Positive self-esteem implies that, comparing ones value to others, the individuals find themselves superior. This can lead to behaviors like arrogance, selfishness and difficult in coping with others. Such behavior may influence an individual’s academic performance.
Self-esteem has become a household word. Teachers, parents, therapists, and others have focused efforts on boosting self-esteem, on the assumption that positive self-esteem will cause many positive outcomes and benefits. Appraisal of the effects of self-esteem is complicated by several factors. Because many people with positive self-esteem exaggerate their successes and good traits, however, we emphasize objective measures of outcomes. Positive self-esteem is also a heterogeneous category, encompassing people who frankly accept their good qualities along with narcissistic, defensive, and conceited individuals. It is noted that the modest correlations between self-esteem and school performance has indicated that positive self-esteem leads to good academic performance. Therefore, Positive self-esteem is the result of good academic performance. Efforts to boost the self-esteem of students have been shown to improve academic performance and many times have been productive. Job performance in adults is sometimes related to self-esteem, although the correlations vary widely, and the direction of causality has not been established. Occupational success may boost self-esteem rather than the reverse. This means that good academic performance boosts self-esteem and not the vice versa.
Positive self-esteem makes people more willing to speak up in groups and to criticize the group's approach. Leadership does not stem directly from self-esteem, but self-esteem may have indirect effects. Relative to people with negative self-esteem, those with positive self-esteem show stronger in- group favoritism which may increase prejudice and discrimination. Therefore, neither high nor negative self-esteem is a direct cause of violence. Narcissism leads to increased aggression in retaliation for wounded pride. Negative self-esteem may contribute to externalizing behavior and delinquency, although some studies have found that there are no effects or that the effect of self-esteem vanishes when other variables are controlled. The highest and lowest rates of cheating and bullying are found in different subcategories of positive self-esteem.
ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE AND SELF ESTEEM: A NEXUS
Self-esteem is always attributed to best performances in tasks and at work place. Self value may strengthen the learners’ relationship with the facilitator. This implies that the students may benefit more from the teacher due to the free atmosphere. It also reduces problems like; truancy, absenteeism, drug and substance abuse and teenage pregnancies that are known to cause poor performances. Character building emanate from self-esteem. Students with self-esteem are able to manage and use their leisure time well. Moreover, they are able to choose good and reliable friends who can help in boosting their academic performance. Self-esteem is ones emotional evaluation of worth or judgment of one’s self attitude. Students with positive self-esteem are good at negotiation skills with others. They respect others opinion and listen to others views. They also have many friends for they embrace non-violent behavior in solving conflicts.
Students with a high level of self esteem tend to relate well with teachers and this can assist them make consultations in case of challenges in academic work as well as tackle assignments in good time. They take failure in examinations as a stepping stone to success. This implies that they work harder to improve whenever they do not perform well. When criticized by colleagues and teachers they take the criticisms positively. They have good interpersonal relationships. They excel in academic performance and recognize the role played by others in the same. When they deviate in discipline they are easily corrected. As students they dress well and decently always and not many teachers who raise complaints about their dressing code. Their academic discussions are harmonious and always labor to live in peace with colleagues. They are not overconfident about their knowledge and intelligence. The result of this is improvement in academic performance.
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, self-esteem plays a critical role in academic activities of students; there is need for school administration to focus on life skills education to boost the performance of students in academic related activities.
Self esteem has a meaningful role in one’s performance. Self confident student shows better result than low confident students. Self esteem as an influential contributor to academic success, productive behavior and mental and physical health in children. Support, may be moral or somewhat like financial, appreciation, praise, reward etc, is one of the factors that may enhance the student's grade in the class. Supportive environment have a substantial effect on student performance. Also, teacher attitude has a greater effect on the student performance.

2023.05.28 15:13 Oli_VK 26M Looking to make friends after a bit of a messy week

Hi my name’s Oli, I’m 26 years old and tend to focus on work and staying at home and I realised recently that I don’t have a lot of friends. I know a few people who made a few good ones here so I thought I’d give it a try too.
For starters, I’m of a darker complexion, I hope that doesn’t bother most. I love to write and and otherwise do anything creative. I play a lot of games both on pc and console so really whatever floats your boat. I seem quiet by nature but I’m actually really loud when I get comfortable.
If you’d like to talk just shoot me a dm, I very much appreciate that. Bonus if you’re in Canada, because that’s where I am, so it’d be nice to eventually meet up and hang out.
If you read this far I do appreciate it and I hope to meet a few new people.

2023.05.28 14:57 Odd_Cryptographer461 Revealing a personal struggle with addiction to My brother, whom my mother did not give birth to

My brother, my friend, my source of happiness and sorrow, who holds a piece of my heart, has decided to pursue his career overseas, leaving me alone and wondering. I feel lost, trying to find my soul in the dark, questioning whether his life can make sense without me by his side. sad song playing in the background
Well, fortunately, he achieved success in his business endeavors and was able to acquire properties and establish a household at a very young age, living his life to the fullest. May God bless him.
Now let’s have the spotlight back at me! It’s my story. After all
My ideology kept changing, compelling me to embrace every new encounter as an opportunity to gain understanding and new experiences in life.
Little did I know that not all encounters lead to successful shaping of the future. Certainly, mistakes and failures contribute to building a superior version of myself, making me stronger. However, not all errors can be rectified or corrected. Some can drastically alter the course of one's life.
I am here to share a brief story about a mistake that cannot be undone, caused by a couple of wicked acquaintances who accompanied me on my journey to shape the next step of my life. Unfortunately, they were merely passers-by with the intention of causing harm. At this point, I had to decide whether to allow them into my life or be cautious around them until I understood their intentions.
"My proactive approach to gaining experience and knowledge in various aspects of life had come at a cost when I welcomed the wrong crowd who introduced me to Narcotics. It’s funny how drugs get introduced into the system and produce an intense euphoria while high on stimulants. But fades away when I keep using frequently. My first attempt at using narcotics was to experience how it feels and what it does to the body.
I used to believe that I had a good understanding of how to limit my drug consumption and avoid becoming addicted. However, I soon realized that my knowledge wasn't enough to protect me from the dangers of addiction. As I started using drugs more frequently, my brain began to make excuses and deny that I was overusing. Addiction crept up on me, and before I knew it, I was trapped in its grasp.
Life can be a harsh teacher, constantly presenting us with challenges and obstacles to overcome. Unfortunately, I've found myself facing yet another difficult test. I made a mistake by compromising my values and ignoring my limitations. My brain played tricks on me, convincing me that taking an easier, but wrong, path was the way to go. I allowed my arrogance to get the best of me, forgetting all the lessons I had learned about being mature, educated, and well-raised.
The consequences of my actions were severe, particularly when it came to drugs. I learned the hard way that drugs don't discriminate. They don't care if you're the best living creature on earth or the worst. They will still wreak havoc on your body, your brain, and all other healthy organs. I'm now paying the price for my mistake, and I'm determined to learn from it and make better choices in the future. I know that enlightenment and growth come from facing our mistakes and taking responsibility for our actions.
It took me four long years to finally see the truth that I had been using more than I should have. I didn't realize that my actions were putting my health at risk, and I was unable to see the damage it was causing to my work, productivity, and creativity. My mental health was also suffering, and I found myself neglecting my friends and avoiding social gatherings. This mistake has caused me a lot of regret and repentance, and I wish I had realized sooner what I was doing to myself. Now, I am working hard to turn things around and make better choices for my health and well-being. It's not easy, but it's worth it to live a happier and healthier life.
Now that the story has been told. And the cards have been revealed. We shall turn the spotlight on the apple of my eye, the reason I am writing this mini-story.
I feel burdened by a weight that I carry on my shoulders, and I am afraid to share it with one of the most significant people in my life due to fear of judgment or rejection. I fear that bringing up this topic might change our relationship, and I do not know how he will react. As a result, I am putting up walls to protect us both from any potential shock, and I am preparing myself for any outcome because I know that this is not an easy topic to react to. His facial expressions might betray his true feelings, and I am not sure how to navigate that uncertainty.
Regrettably, only another addict can truly comprehend the struggles of addiction. I have observed that many addicts find solace in discussing their cravings with fellow addicts, as they share the pain and mental battles that come with addiction. Despite years of study, a therapist can never fully comprehend the discomfort and agony of experiencing an itch that seems insatiable.
The Dilemma of my addiction
I hold my brother in high regard, and it can be stressful to keep certain things hidden from him, especially since we only see each other once or twice a month due to living in different countries. However, we frequently communicate through social media and sometimes confide in each other.
My desire to tell him stems from the need to justify my behavior or my occasional absence. After discussing this issue with my therapist, he suggested bringing up the topic in a casual manner to gauge his reaction and avoid making a scene or causing unnecessary drama.
Before meeting him for lunch, I imagined countless scenarios on how to avoid having "the talk" with him. I realized that I am quite creative and wrote a lengthy post on Reddit titled "My therapist is younger than me, and I'm pretty young." In the post, I listed the issues I needed to discuss with my therapist and sneaked in a hidden sentence about my concerns regarding discussing my struggles with addictionā€. And have him the post to read it as the main topic was having an issue with a young therapist.
I was shocked to my core by his reaction when he read the article. While I was sweating profusely, he simply passed it back without any response. I was completely taken aback. There were two possible outcomes from his reaction. Either he did not understand or he did understand but chose not to make a big deal out of it.
I raised the topic again and then I realized that he had acknowledged and dealt with it in a very humane way. I appreciated his words about how everyone goes through a phase of depression in their life, and how it is an opportunity to change and become a better person. He reminded me that this is only a temporary phase and that I will regain my health and happiness.
I made the decision to share this with everyone, but him and to highlight that there are still genuinely compassionate people out there. I hope that everyone who is currently facing challenges in life is blessed with someone who loves, protects, and supports them through the good times and the bad.
Peace out.

2023.05.28 14:56 LoveCakeOceans I'm new here but was wondering if anyone could relate or identify with what I am going through in terms of my FP.

Hi all, first time poster and a little nervous. I am a pwBPD (bear with me as I'm new to the terminology and concepts) and I find it very difficult when my FP has to go to sleep. There is a time difference between us. I notice that when they go to sleep, that is the times when I feel most chaotic and often turn to unhealthy and damaging behaviours that I regret later. But they need sleep for their health and body, as we all do. I feel like I am alone even if I am around other people if that makes sense? I miss them so much. The pain gets into my chest and i feel a little hopeless. It's especially hard because they are far away. I start zoning in on my failures and feel a great sense of despair. But then there's morning and it's ok then Does anyone else have any struggles when their FP needs to go away even if its completely reasonable and you know you'll see them again? Just wanted to know if people can relate. Are there any things that you do that help you cope during this. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated! :)

2023.05.28 14:41 Capybara_Incognito Advice for a musician / teacher ?

Zdravo, everybody. Recently arrived in the general area... I don't quite know if this is the best sub-reddit to post in, but here goes!
Does anyone have any leads for interesting music schools that looking for guitar teachers? I'm a conservatory graduate with a plump CV of great experiences teaching and playing.
I play mixed styles (classical and also non-classical) and have taught at both university and private/non-profit level.
Important considerations/limitations for me: 1) I do not have the official pedagogy diploma (only a performance masters from conservatory). This makes me more interested in things like associations/non-profits and international schools.
2) I do not speak Slovenian (yet...). However I do speak other languages, for example Italian and English. (And also French, Portuguese, Spanish and Dutch-- though these are obviously not in high-demand). I know this is a big limitation, but it will take time to learn...
I would appreciate any leads or advice, please. Thank you!

2023.05.28 14:18 CourageSuch2869 Thank You Gifts

I hope this is ok to ask here. My son is neurodiverse and is an integrated preK program. There are two teachers and 4 teachers assistants in his classroom. Plus he meets with an OT and a social worker twice a week each. I cannot emphasize enough how absolutely amazing each and everyone of these women are. They have made such a difference in my son’s life and have helped us work with the school district to get him set up for kindergarten. Seriously they are all angels on earth.
As we are coming up on the end of the year in June and he will be leaving this school I wanted to start planning nice gifts for the teachers. Last year I gave everyone a succulent garden with ā€˜thanks for helping me grow’ written on it with his handprint and a homemade card that he colored. For Christmas everyone got a bag he decorated filled with hand lotion, chapstick, hand sanitizer, and Hersey kisses plus a homemade card with $50. I want to give them all something wonderful to say thank you for the impact you’ve had on our family but since there are 8 people it can get expensive very quickly. I’m budgeting $600 ($75/person) but am stumped at what to get them. I am planning on writing a heartfelt letter to each of them to let them know how appreciated they are. Any ideas on what else to get them would be greatly appreciated.
Also just want to say thank you for all that you do as teachers! There are always a few bad apples (teacher pun there) but overall the teachers that I have met in my life have all been caring and wonderful humans who have a copious amount of patience. ā¤ļø

2023.05.28 13:56 Manticell Seeking Recommendations: Documentary Film on Children's Psychological Health.

Hello everyone,
I hope you're doing well.
I wanted to reach out to you regarding a documentary film project that focuses on children's psychological well-being. We aim to shed light on the challenges they face in Ukraine and explore the various opportunities available to them beyond the traditional school setting, helping them develop and navigate through the current situation.
One example we have come across is a creative school for children, which we have been in contact with.
We would greatly appreciate any suggestions or recommendations you may have for similar institutions or organizations that provide unique and beneficial experiences for children in Ukraine. These could include alternative educational programs, therapeutic centres, or other initiatives contributing to their overall growth and resilience.
Your input and insights would be precious to us, as we strive to create a comprehensive and impactful documentary.
I want to thank you in advance for your support and assistance.

Warm regards,
Mattheo.

2023.05.28 13:42 prettypink_1 Business name ideas šŸ’”

Hello everyone,
I am in the process of starting up a business and need some help with a creative name!
The main focus of the business is assisting riders with finding a suitable horse. My aim is to become the middle person, ascertaining the requirements of the riders (level of experience etc) and narrowing down the search to a few suitable horses. All correspondence is taken care of, including collating videos and required images of conformation, as well as assisting the rider (if required) with organising a vet assessment.
We would also be willing to accompany the rider for viewings.
The idea of the business stemmed from my discussions with parents of child or riders entering the industry for the first time. Many expressed how overwhelming the process of purchasing a first horse can be and don’t know where to start, what to look for or the red flags to be aware of.
Any name ideas would be really appreciated. Thank you šŸ™

2023.05.28 13:23 AegisDivision Question about Eleven

Question about Eleven
Hi, gang! Long time lurker, first time poster. I really appreciate the resources of this forum, and finally have a 1/6 figure of my own for which I have a question that's been stumping me. I wasn't sure where else to post this question, so I thought I could bundle it in here.
I recently purchased the Threezero Stranger Things Eleven figure, and the one I bought needs a new connector between her ankle and her foot. The trouble I'm having is that Eleven, being made to the scale of a teenager, isn't actually 12" tall. She's closer to 9", and as near as I can tell, the parts used in her manufacture are smaller than standard.
Attached for reference are photos of one of the ankle connectors that Eleven came with, along with what appears to be a "standard" size ankle connector.
Might you be able to assist in identifying and sourcing a few of the smaller connectors? It would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
