I have a pair of the tobacco brown oiled leather birks and they have a bunch of random stains on them. I water proofed them right out of the box so I have no clue how this happened after a few wears.
What’s the best way to clean the stains out without scratching the leather? (Tool and cleaner suggestions appreciated)!

2023.05.30 23:03 Sergey_Taboritsky The Premiere of Szilvestzter

As parliament was to be in session shortly, many important figures were already present in the capital. Intentionally or otherwise, there was another event which capitalized on the timing, the premiere of the “national epic” Szilvestzter, about the legendary 9th century Vuldic conqueror and founder of Vuldavia.
Szilvestzter was the passion project of the ambitious Vuldavian film pioneer Peter Balog, using talent from across Epera. Film premieres were not uncommon in Blielor, several occurred annually, with Vuldavian high society present. Szilvestzter was different, being the first film advertised to use synchronized sound. From that alone, people flocked to the Blielor Grand Cinema.
Sitting down in their spots, the audience eagerly awaited the start of the film. It opened with a wideshot of the plains of the eastern steppes, as the music swelled. A rugged man on horseback came into view, followed by others. He lead them through the hills, through the Calthon mountains in the harsh winter to the fertile plains of Asmad. They looked from on top a hill, marvelling at the sight.
Szilvestzter uttered, “It’s beautiful.”
There were some gasps in the audience.
Szilvestzter’s lieutenant, on a horse of his own, “With green grass as far as the eye can see.”
However the Vuldic horde was not alone in those lands, they quickly encountered other groups, include the ruling Adata tribe, with the rest of the film consisting of massive battles, melodramatic twists and a forbidden romance, with Szilvestzter falling in love with a lowly Adata washerwoman.
The climax of the film was the famous siege of Trealon, taking place in the ruins of the centuries old Solean fortifications. Szilvestzter’s victory over the Adata was in part due to the alliances he made with their former tributaries including the Zebruans. However those groups quickly found themselves falling under the new Vuldavian Kingdom.
The last scene was of an elderly king Szilvestzter presiding over a great empire before dying on his throne.
While rife with a number of anachronisms, historical inaccuracies and blatant pro Vuldavian bias, the talented actors, innovative audio, stunning visuals and heartfelt emotion seemed to have won over the audience, garnering a standing ovation.
In the front lobby, there were food and drinks for the guests. The director Peter Balog was listening to what the audience thought and giving autographs.

2023.05.30 23:03 IamEuphoric88 I went to Paris for a corporate and investor event about fighting Climate Change

Sorry for the English, I am Mediterranean
I went there as representative of my company. My job was selling our products to people hoping for investments or funding from venture capital or banks. I kinda liked it, I like doing it and negotiating with other people
Thanks to the event, I had the opportunity of analyzing in detail the demography of the people attending it
- There were only three type of people representing their companies at their stands; autistic male engineers, Indian engineers that casually became head of European companies in random places like Bratislava, and hot HR girls.
- Half of the companies present were interesting, the other half was demented and they were pitching absurd ideas or ESG brain monitoring stuff, hoping to receive investment from some shady NGO probably
- 90% European (obviously), 5% Indian and Asian, and 5% Africans. The last ones were divided in two different categories, the Africans from Ruanda and Nigeria presenting swarm tech drone technologies, and the Franco-Africans (?) cleaning the toilets
- 3/4 of the event was covered by companies and investors. The other 1/4 was covered by workshops and conferences. These workshops were exclusively stuffed by young female activists who spoke for three days straight about feminism and anti-racism (I heard everything because sadly my stand was in front of the theatre), while sharing their stage with a woman from the Clinton Foundation (!)
The irony that the uber-left activists were sharing the same event with ubercapitalists and Big Banks and Big Tech was completely lost to these young girls
- Ukrainians running around in faux military-fatigue, asking to everyone for tech that could be used on the battlefield. They were cool people.
- The entrance was covered by a giant globohomo sculpture, on it it was written "WELCOME, HEROES" or something like that, absolutely regarded. Double regardation, because directly in front of it, pointing in the direction of the regarded motto, there was a statue of General Joffre on horse, probably spinning in his tomb

Apart from all of that, Paris is still very cool. People are fit and hot and they smoke a lot, and I saw at least a dozen of giant rats and a pair of african drug smuggler

2023.05.30 23:03 imThe_great1 About the material productive forces

What to respond to this :
The essential concept of Marxian materialism is "the material productive forces of society." These forces are the driving power producing all historical facts and changes. In the social production of their subsistence, men enter into certain relations—production relations —which are necessary and independent of their will and correspond to the prevailing stage of development of the material productive forces. The totality of these production relations forms "the economic structure of society, the real basis upon which there arises a juridical and political superstructure and to which definite forms of social consciousness correspond." The mode of pro- duction of material life conditions the social, political, and spiritual (intellectual) life process in general (in each of its manifestations). It is not the consciousness (the ideas and thoughts) of men that determines their being (existence) but, on the contrary, their social being that determines their consciousness. At a certain stage of their development the material productive forces of society come into contradiction with the existing production relations, or, what is merely a juridical expression for them, with the property relations (the social system of property laws) within the frame of which they have hitherto operated. From having been forms of development of the productive forces these re- lations turn into fetters of them. Then comes an epoch of social revolution. With the change in the economic foundation the whole immense superstructure slowly or rapidly transforms * itself. In reviewing such a trans- formation,1 one must always distinguish between the material transformation* of the economic conditions of production, which can be precisely ascertained with the methods of the natural sciences, and the juridical, po- litical, religious, artistic,2 or philosophical, in short ide- ological, forms in which men become conscious (aware) of this conflict and fight it out. Such an epoch of trans- formation can no more be judged according to its own consciousness than an individual can be judged accord- ing to what he imagines himself to be; one must rather explain this consciousness out of the contradictions of the material life, out of the existing conflict between so- cial productive forces and production relations. No so- cial formation ever disappears before all the productive forces have been developed for which its frame is broad enough, and new, higher production relations never ap- pear before the material conditions of their existence have been hatched out in the womb of the old society.Hence mankind never sets itself tasks other than those it can solve, for closer observation will always discover that the task itself only emerges where the material con- ditions of its solution are already present or at least in the process of becoming.3 The most remarkable fact about this doctrine is that it does not provide a definition of its basic concept, ma- terial productive forces. Marx never told us what he had in mind in referring to the material productive forces. We have to deduce it from occasional historical exem- plifications of his doctrine. The most outspoken of these incidental examples is to be found in his book, The Pov- erty of Philosophy, published in 1847 in French. It reads: The hand mill gives you feudal society, the steam mill industrial capitalism.4 This means that the state of practical technological knowledge or the technological quality of the tools and machines used in production is to be considered the essential feature of the material productive forces, which uniquely determine the pro- duction relations and thereby the whole "superstruc- ture." The production technique is the real thing, the material being that ultimately determines the social, political, and intellectual manifestations of human life. This interpretation is fully confirmed by all other ex- amples provided by Marx and Engels and by the re- sponse every new technological advance roused in their minds. They welcomed it enthusiastically because theywere convinced that each such new invention brought them a step nearer the realization of their hopes, the coming of socialism.5 There have been, before Marx and after Marx, many historians and philosophers who emphasized the promi- nent role the improvement of technological methods of production has played in the history of civilization. A glance into the popular textbooks of history published in the last one hundred and fifty years shows that their authors duly stressed the importance of new inventions and of the changes they brought about. They never con- tested the truism that material well-being is the indis- pensable condition of a nation's moral, intellectual, and artistic achievement. But what Marx says is entirely different. In his doc- trine the tools and machines are the ultimate thing, a material thing, viz., the material productive forces. Everything else is the necessary superstructure of this material basis. This fundamental thesis is open to three irrefutable objections. First, a technological invention is not something ma- terial. It is the product of a mental process, of reason- ing and conceiving new ideas. The tools and machines may be called material, but the operation of the mind which created them is certainly spiritual. Marxian ma- terialism does not trace back "superstructural" and"ideological" phenomena to "material" roots. It explains these phenomena as caused by an essentially mental process, viz., invention. It assigns to this mental process, which it falsely labels an original, nature-given, mate- rial fact, the exclusive power to beget all other social and intellectual phenomena. But it does not attempt to explain how inventions come to pass. Second, mere invention and designing of technologi- cally new implements are not sufficient to produce them. What is required, in addition to technological knowledge and planning, is capital previously accumu- lated out of saving. Every step forward on the road to- ward technological improvement presupposes the re- quisite capital. The nations today called underdeveloped know what is needed to improve their backward ap- paratus of production. Plans for the construction of all the machines they want to acquire are ready or could be completed in a very short time. Only lack of capital holds them up. But saving and capital accumulation presuppose a social structure in which it is possible to save and to invest. The production relations are thus not the product of the material productive forces but, on the contrary, the indispensable condition of their coming into existence. Marx, of course, cannot help admitting that capital accumulation is "one of the most indispensable condi- tions for the evolution of industrial production." 6 Part of his most voluminous treatise, Das Kapital, providesa history—wholly distorted—of capital accumulation. But as soon as he comes to his doctrine of materialism, he forgets all he said about this subject. Then the tools and machines are created by spontaneous generation, as it were. Furthermore it must be remembered that the utiliza- tion of machines presupposes social cooperation under the division of labor. No machine can be constructed and put into use under conditions in which there is no division of labor at all or only a rudimentary stage of it. Division of labor means social cooperation, i.e., social bonds between men, society. How then is it possible to explain the existence of society by tracing it back to the material productive forces which themselves can only appear in the frame of a previously existing social nexus? Marx could not comprehend this problem. He accused Proudhon, who had described the use of ma- chines as a consequence of the division of labor, of ig- norance of history. It is a distortion of fact, he shouted, to start with the division of labor and to deal with ma- chines only later. For the machines are "a productive force," not a "social production relation," not an "eco- nomic category."7 Here we are faced with a stubborn dogmatism that does not shrink from any absurdity. We may summarize the Marxian doctrine in this way: In the beginning there are the "material productive forces," i.e., the technological equipment of human pro- ductive efforts, the tools and machines. No question concerning their origin is permitted; they are, that isall; we must assume that they are dropped from heaven. These material productive forces compel men to enter into definite production relations which are independ- ent of their wills. These production relations farther on determine society's juridical and political superstruc- ture as well as all religious, artistic, and philosophical ideas.

Indicators point to this being the early stages of a commodities super cycle as the lag between commodity price signals and changes in supply is widening.
NILI's Nevada North Lithium Project consists of 243 mineral claims over 1,946 hectares with significant lithium content ranging from 29.1 ppm to 5,120 ppm, including 274 samples of 508 carrying 1,000 ppm Li or greater.
NILI will be drilling 7 new locations at Nevada North within an extensive surface geochemical covering an area of about 1,700m east-west. The new targets were selected to expand the currently identified lithium deposit to the west and north, as well as to determine continuity between the 2022 holes drilled.
While NILI is still in the early stages, it's well positioned for growth going forward with enough capital to expedite and complete its 2H 2023 exploration programs.

2023.05.30 23:02 ThePoutineSystem Got an acceptance from Amazon, don’t know if it’s worth it.

After getting an internal referral I got an acceptance without offer from Amazon in Europe for an IT Support Position but it’s onsite.
I currently work for a good company and have a great work life balance, got sent on business trips, got free stuff from work, great overall company, good environment , employees are getting training to improve but the only thing that annoys me is that I want to relocate to an hour away and I may soon be able to, just not at the speed that I want to. However I’ve been at my company for less than a year and I feel like it does not look good on my CV to move to a new job this quickly. however
I today got an acceptance letter and I don’t know if it’s a good gig or not, I do have IT Helpdesk experience of over 5 yrs and I’m trying to think if it’s a good move, I was told this was a On site position but no clue on pay, location is closer to where I wanna be, job can be more stable technically but again I don’t know the work environment at Amazon and I don’t know if the reviews I see on Reddit apply to EMEA.
What are your thoughts ? Better stay at my job and gain more experience and grow from within or move to Amazon ?
PS: my biggest fear is that I get into Amazon and it’s not a good fit, with the current job market I just don’t know if it’s worth the risk.
Thanks in advance!

2023.05.30 23:01 ptpwallet 🔒 Exploring the World of DeFi Insurance

In the decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem, insurance plays a vital role in protecting users from unexpected losses, such as hacks and stablecoin crashes. While DEXs and lending dominate the DeFi landscape, insurance represents less than 1% of the total value locked (TVL). However, as TVL grows, the importance of insurance solutions becomes evident.
Nexus Mutual, a pioneer in the industry, has been the dominant player, accounting for over 78% of TVL in the insurance market. However, the market remains fragmented, with other protocols making up a smaller percentage.
DeFi insurance works by allowing individuals and businesses to hedge their capital against risks through decentralized liquidity pools. In return, insurance providers earn a return on the locked-in capital. This decentralized approach offers transparency and the ability to participate for anyone in need of insurance.
Parametric insurance, a popular option in DeFi, leverages smart contracts and oracles to automate claim settlements based on preset parameters and real-time data. This automation increases efficiency and reduces the possibility of bias or human error.
While DeFi insurance offers protection, it can be complex for beginners, and choosing the right option can be challenging. Additionally, insurers will only thrive if they make money, so careful evaluation of risk models is essential.
When considering DeFi insurance, it's important to assess your personal risk tolerance, the amount of funds involved, and the specific platforms or contracts you are dealing with. For substantial investments and concerns about security, insurance can be a valuable investment. However, for smaller amounts or established platforms, it may not be necessary.
As the DeFi industry evolves, we can expect more innovation and improvement in insurance protocols to meet the needs of users. Stay informed, do thorough research, and evaluate if DeFi insurance aligns with your risk management strategy.

I have some hobbies and interests such as , Gaming, Art, Music, Computers, Skateboarding, * cosplay to name a few; I have a bunch of skills and knowledge but even then i have no clue and no motivation that can help me find something i want to do with my life.
This may come off as tooting my own horn and i apologise if it dies but I'm just giving a little window into what i can do and have experienced to get some suggestions on possible routes i can take my life, I would have just joined the army/ royal air force but being born with asthma prevents me even applying for next to every roll I would find potentially fulfilling.
My last resort would be to join the police or fire service(but in the back of my mind ending it would also be a option apart of me is just done with life going day to day no goals no progression, just emptiness), currently the plan was to go to uni (90% of the reason was to be able to spend more time with GF while doing a course i would like) , i can still go abut after she requested a break and its been 2 moths now and ye safe to say our relationship is now over but on friendly terms we still plan to be friends after. I have not continued education since 2019 and have not really done much other than work full time in a job(2017-2023) where i progressed from team member to assistant manager.
The course was games development with a focus on the programming aspect, not going to lie i don't feel i have the skills to pass it but not sure if this is my imposter syndrome speaking or me.
If this has just turned into rambling i do apologize, guess what i really want is advice on is what do i or can i do with my self, i have no faith in my abilities and am not sure what to do with my life just feel hard stuck.

no clue how to tag this but here we go:
we’ve had an alter in here for around a year now who has shown some of the most disgusting signs of harassment and obsession towards the host. it’s tried putting itself into dormancy, we keep trying to reason with it and it says it’s “fixed” but also claims to have some kind of sub-system thing going on where they claim they “can’t control” the prosecuting behaviour they commit towards our host? is this even something possible, to have an alter that has alters? and is there any possible way to reason with them? idk, it’s getting to me because obviously i just don’t like witnessing how annoying and frustrating this is getting. i feel like i’ve just been running in circles.

Hey everyone,
So a friend reached out who does weddings. I’ve mentioned to her before that I produce music. She said she was about to get into videography and asked if I could make something to put into the videos. I have no clue how to even start what she’s asking. Do I just use simple piano chords with a melody over top? I don’t really have a romantic side to go off of.

2023.05.30 23:00 Expert_Ad3731 Tilt test tomorrow, dumping my thoughts

Hello everyone! I finally have my tilt test tomorrow (hopefully, bc last time they cancelled it the morning of the test..). I just wanted to dump my thoughts about pots/tilt test/doctors/my story etc somewhere, so I’m just gonna do it here :).
I have been dealing with really bad chronic fatigue and a lot of ‘random’ symptoms for years. A year ago I went to my gp to talk about the fatigue. And that point I hadn’t realised that I was dealing with a lot of different symptoms (those things just felt like normal/separate things bc I didn’t see the connection yet.) Because of that, she didn’t know what it could possibly be, and just did some bloodwork that came back normal.
A few months later I found out what pots is. Suddenly it clicked. I researched it a lot and also looked at me/cfs. I then went back to my gp (a different one, bc that one was available at a convenient moment). I talked about all my symptoms and asked if it could possibly be pots and/or me/cfs. He had no clue what pots was (googled it in front of me) and he didn’t seem to be a fan of the diagnosis me/cfs. He then decided to send me to a internist.
After the test at the internist came back normal (except for high hr on ecg bc I just walked for 5 min), he sent me back to my gp. My gp then agreed to send me to a cardiologist. I had to do several test at the cardiology department, before actually seeing a cardiologist first. When I saw my cardiologist after those tests, he told me there was nothing wrong with my heart. However, they could see the spikes on the holter, and high hr again on the ecg and echo. He then told me I would have to do a tilt test to confirm pots.
My cardiologist does actually know what pots is, and he started to explain it to me (I didn’t wanna tell him that my autistic ass already knew all of that). However, I don’t really feel like he understands what is like having it. (I of course don’t know for sure yet that I have it, but if my tilt test results are positive, which is very likely, then I will get diagnosed.) He told me that you can get old if you have pots, and can be just as happy as any other person. That last thing doesn’t sit right with me, bc honestly, all my medical issues are kinda ruining my life atm.
He also told me that if I have pots, I would have to do very intense physical therapy multiple times a week. That really scares me, and I highly doubt that’s gonna make things better. Especially since I think I might have me/cfs as well. Does anyone have experience with this? I have so little energy that doing something like that once a week would already be a problem, let alone multiple times a week. I also want to be evaluated for mcas and eds, but haven’t brought up those two things yet. However, I am already getting treated for mcas like symptoms.
I’m both excited and scared for my tilt test. This is hopefully gonna be the key to a diagnosis. I’m not necessarily scared for the actual test, but I am afraid they are not gonna perform it correctly, or that my body will act very differently or something. The information paper doesn’t say anything about laying down before being put in a 70 degree angle. My hr is probably gonna be very high when I get there (that happens every time), from the 5 min walk and from stressing about the hospital visit. I’m afraid they won’t let me lay down long enough for my hr to go down, especially bc they don’t mention it. The paper does mention being upright for 20 min, then laying down for 5 min, getting nitroglycerin and then being upright again.
Okay that’s it for now I think. If anyone read this far: thanks for listening, and I have no clue what else you can do with all this information haha. Bye :).

2023.05.30 22:56 Calm-Image744 What’s the next step for me?

Hi, and thank you in advance for taking the time to read. Let me start by saying I swear I'm not having a mid-life crisis. Everything is fine I'm just super indecisive.
So, my son (8m), my fiance (24f) and I (32m) live together in a 3 bedroom townhouse owned by her father. This essentially means we're getting a brea on the rent (paying $1350 per month when it should be around $1900-$2100). Back when covid hit and I got laid off I decided to leave the union and quit iron-working. I found a government grant that paid for me to go to Hvac school for free.
I graduated and made $100k my first year and around $135k my second. Iron-working I was making about $70k-$75k so this was a huge bump.
The only amoun of "splurging" I've done is paid roughly $30k to build the 1963 Chevy II SS I've been dragging around with me since I was 16, and the upcmoing wedding in October costing around $20k (FIL is contributing $10k and MIL is contributing $5k) so only $5k out of pocket for me.
Now keep in mind, before switching to Hvac I had virtually no savings and was living paycheck to paycheck. Currently I have about $18k in a roth ira account because my new employer doesnt offer 401k and I had to move out of my previoud employers provider. I have about $28k between my checkings and savings, another $70k in cash, about $10k in silver, and another $5k between a robinhood, wealthfront and charles schwab investment account. At the moment im averaging about $3.5k per week in gross revenue.
Heres the issue.
I am bored beyond belief and I dont feel i make anywhere near the amount of money I want/need to in order to retire by 40 (soft goal). I’m super insecure about my financial portfolio. I am chock full of ideas; some of which I feel could easily be multi-million dollar companies if they aren't already. I am hyper motivated but feeling discouraged after three failed business attempts.
The issues is I have zero network. I grew up super poor and was not by any means a model citizen growing up and have worked very hard and spent hundreds of hours in therapy to sperate myself from not only that lifestyle but from the people I grew up with so I dont have many friends left or at least no "lifers" that I've known for 18+ years or whatever.
I just feel like im at a platue now and I cant figure out what to do to take the next step. I want to take the $130k per year and make it $260k per year. That's what I've done my entire life. My entire resume is level-up list where every new Job I've acquired I've made more money than the lasy or at least improved my quality of living substantially compared to the previous situation and I’m ready for that. I want to have more children with this girl that I love. I want to get big ol house with some land and chickens and more dogs and have toys to fuck around on. I refuse to be one of the antiwork people and cower the the climate of hyper capitalism. I’ll do whatever it takes to make it happens I’m just waiting for that one opportunity to come along. I even have an llc just sitting there doing nothing atm. At the very least I’d love some advice on how best to allocate the $70k cash I have and put that money to work.
Any advice or input is appreciated and I'd love to discuss anything further in the comments! Also my location is Lv, NV.

2023.05.30 22:55 cannon85 Wireless saving and sharing for entire orgijization

We are seeing everyone’s home private networks saved and shared through out all of our laptops. I can’t for the life of me figure out how to turn off Network Sharing in Azure. This is about the only other place I can think of that would share everyone’s home networks with all laptops.
I know there is an option or something in there. Anyone have any clue before I dig way deeper than I should? Thanks!

So I bought a patch in a flea market and I need help on the identification of one of them. I think it’s a US Navy Hornet patch but no clue on the specific unit.

Nervous about my Saturn Return
I'm still learning how to interpret my birth chart, and lately, I have been consumed with figuring out the meaning of Saturn and its meaning.
Can somebody more knowledgeable help me? Lol. I am terrified about my Saturn return and have no clue what to expect from it.

2023.05.30 22:52 garbox101 Saved Games bug - My BB and I are out.

I have to stop playing this game. So sad.
I noticed that not even my private room sessions create saves anymore. My most epic loss was making it all the way to Lake Knox City only to realise I had to start the journey all the way back to the Waystation west of Capital Knox. This is the XBOX Game Pass version on the PC.
I have lost too many hours of gameplay to keep doing this. So sad. I need to let this game go, until this problem is fixed. Anybody managed to fixed this?
My BB and I are overstressed.
