I'm traveling to Jeju with my wife in mid-July. Right in the thick of monsoon season! He resolves to be good enough to be recognized for his talent and allowed to leave without being disowned, but not good enough where he wastes his life in what turned out to be a pointless endeavor. While in the nursery palace he sells stuff to create a slush fund for when he the sect. Shenanigans ensue but more stuff that's identifiable: - He meets a crazy albino dude who's the disciple of the sect's administration dude. Super smart and actively trying to get MC the sect leader position - He meets the heavenly doctor after messing up his meridians even more in a ploy to be seen as useless and survives bc he has the same type of Qi his dad has (heavenly Qi or something) and recovers very quickly. - When he messed up his meridians he actually fixed them so now he has the potential to be a swordmaster and everyone thinks he's gonna be a swordmaster who changes the world but he just wants to run away to a farm and chill.

I'm 22F, and 24 weeks pregnant. Back in December I made the mistake of telling my great grandma about the pregnancy and she was happy for us. I cut my mom off back in October when I wasn't even aware I was pregnant. My mother is a narcissist and I had to go through YEARS of mental and emotional abuse which led up to me just being done. I cut my dad off years ago due to sexual abuse and my brother due to him being a Predator the same time as my mom. My grandma called me a couple weeks ago saying she was going to give my mom my phone number because for some reason she thought we told her to lie about it (which we NEVER did, I explained to her why I changed it due to my mom reaching out and texting consistently). I told her I would be changing my number then, which I ended up doing. Fast forward to today. She showed up at our door and wanted to drop stuff off for the baby and asked what her name would be and due date. My husband answered and only told her July since her name is a secret. However, I no longer trust her to know any information about our daughter, nor do I want her around me so I'm content to cut her off too. What my question is, is what should I do if they begin to start showing up consistently? Do grandparent's have rights to their grandchildren; as in can they take us to court to see her after shes born? I keep getting multiple answers online so thought I'd check here. I live in Iowa currently btw. We have plans to move back to the south either end of this year or next summer. TIA

Around two or three weeks ago, I (M,22) tried something called Bhang with my friends as a way to escape many of the emotional and psychological problems I was experiencing as a result of my poor academic performance and isolation. I had a bad and confusing experience because my friend gave me a higher dose than necessary, the effects of which I thought receded immediately after the trip. I was a very sad and anxious kid before I tried this drug. I was also someone who was straight edge, having only gotten drunk alcohol twice in my whole life.
It's been a month or so since the incident, and I can't help but feel my anxiety and fear have not only worsened but also started to manifest in actual physical symptoms. Two weeks ago, I was sitting in my dorm room and watching Youtube videos when randomly I could feel my heart race. It felt like I was losing breath and I perceived this very oppressive sense of loneliness. I had to leave the room immediately and look for people to talk to. I calmed down only after having a conversation with someone I found staying up late looking after a hurt puppy. I want to call it a panic attack, but that's only an uneducated guess. I only had that incident one more time again another day, during class. I thought that was the end of my encounter with the stimulant, until lately, every night, when I've been feeling this overwhelming sense of fear with the same physical symptoms that I previously mentioned: heart rate increase, difficulty breathing, sweaty palms, etc. I'm fine during the daytime, but the night feels especially scary, to the point where I felt like I had to tell my strict parents about my tryst with drug use. They had me see a therapist, and after I described everything, they prescribed me medication for anxiety and sleep.
First of all, anxiety is something that runs in my family, but simply being diagnosed for it feels underwhelming because it never manifested in any real physical symptoms until I tried the drug. Second, I've read before that psychoactive drugs can sometimes exhume and exacerbate mental illnesses that may have been latent in the mind of the user. I can't help but feel like that may have been what happened to me. Third, I feel, in essence, like I've lost innocence and that I'll never get it back. Fourth, as someone who can be in a very fragile state of mind, I think it was a damn near critical mistake to have a bad trip because, for the first time in my life, it gave me a sense of what it feels like to be disconnected from reality, and by extension, what going *crazy* can feel like. And that, I think, is knowledge that should've stayed forbidden to me, because now I'm constantly paranoid about losing myself and my sense of reality in the same way I felt during those few moments of being high. Fourth, sobriety used to be precious to me. It was an important aspect of my personality and self-image. I feel like I've messed with my psychological development irretrievably.
Fifth and I think this is important to note, my family went through a very rough and scary experience during the Covid pandemic when my brother started to develop symptoms of schizophrenia after a particularly horrifying experience with LSD. I was a witness to everything that happened to him during this period, and I feel like even though he has gotten better with the help of medication, he is still not completely out of it yet. Like his personality has been completely altered. It's the little details that tip me off about this. Like how he spends a lot of time in his room, consumed by his thoughts. Or how he flashes a smile at me sometimes that in a lot of ways feels fake, like he's putting up a front. Or how he seems to have lost so much of his signature wit, something I loved so much about him. He used to be one of the few people who could make me laugh so hard that I had to fall to the floor. Because his jokes came from a place of intelligence, and he is one of the smartest people I've ever known.
That's what it feels like to me too. I feel like I don't exactly remember who I was before I tried Bhang. Like I unwittingly followed in his footsteps and caused irreparable damage to myself. Some of the other symptoms I'm currently exhibiting include:

• Decreased interest in activities that I used to be excited about (video games, movies, etc.)
• The diminished novelty of life
• Foggy memory
• Cloudy mind
• Disconnect with childhood self
• Everything around me looks like the color's been drained out of it; like it's all taken a darker shade
• Reduced appetite
• Increased sensitivity to violent content
• Decreased moral sense
• Enhanced risk appetite (I feel the need to take more substances)
• Extreme sense of loneliness (I randomly call friends up just to talk to them and calm myself down from my daily panic attacks that happen at night)
• Relationship anxiety (I'm still a virgin and getting scared I might never find someone)
• Health anxiety (specifically over my Tinnitus which is one of the biggest, if not the biggest reasons I tried Bhang in the first place)
• Fear about my future
• Fear of going insane, depressed, or suicidal
• Phalacrophobia (I don't want to look like soyjak)

I (30F) and my husband (30M) have been together for 7 years and married for 2. We are currently expecting our first child after years of infertility, surgeries etc, so we are very excited. We are also still waiting on an amniocentesis to determine if our baby has a congenital condition that we are both carriers for, and an amnio increases the risk of miscarriage. So clearly we are nervous and wanted to keep the news private.
Our daughter is due in September. We run a small photography business and typically do 5-10 weddings a summer.
My mother (54F) and stepfather (SF) have been together for 22 years, and have a daughter together but never married. They have started planning a wedding in the past, to have it blow up entirely and their relationship get called into question several times. The quick backstory: my mom and dad broke up when I was 7, because my mom was sleeping with SF, who happened to be my dad’s best friend and drug supplier. Dad had gotten clean and stopped dealing for SF. Mom did not want to get clean, and here we are. Several drug raids and arrests later, it had been a rocky 22 years with their relationship to say the least.
After my husband and I announced to family we are pregnant, mom decided to change their wedding date from July 10th to September 10th…less than 2 weeks before the baby is due. My mom also went around telling anyone she wanted after we asked her to keep it private to just family. She told one of her friends who then showed up uninvited to my birthday party and gave me a baby present I was forced to open in front of everyone, effectively announcing our pregnancy to people we did not want to tell. She even told my husband’s coworker. I confronted her about that being a violation of our privacy and disrespectful, and she screamed at me about how excited she was to be a grandma and that it was an accident, she didn’t mean to tell people. She said we have had a lot of issues over the years and just shouldn’t speak for a while, then hung up on me.
That was over a month ago, and I have been ignoring her calls and messages. I know she is expecting us to do the photos and help with the wedding planning. I don’t want to speak with her, but my family seems to think I am being unfair and completely unreasonable by not moving forward and offering to help since the wedding is such a big deal to her.

Hi All!
My girlfriend and I are looking to take three weeks off to go from Boston to Ouray, CO for my friends wedding in the middle of July. We thought this would be a great opportunity to use my 4runner to drive cross country to visit a few national parks, occasionally sleeping in the back of the car and hotels along the way.
Looking to leave July 1st, be in Ouray by the 16th, and be home in Boston by July 22nd.
We’d like to visit South Dakota (Badlands)/Wyoming and hook down into Utah/Upper Arizona (Sedona) then into Colorado for the wedding, then head right home.
Is this a realistic expectation in 21 days? Are we spending too much time driving? I don’t want to be burdened sitting in the car the whole trip and would like to spend some short time in some of these areas.

I have owned 2 cats over the last 11 years (first cat unfortunately passed away last July and I adopted my next kitty the following week) and I’m not sure if my cats are the craftiest, most starving animals on the planet, but they have been causing me some trouble.
I know, they all cause trouble, but this is different. I’ve had a Petmate Automatic Feeder (link - https://www.petmate.com/aspen-pet-lebistro-programmable-food-dispenseproduct/24232), 2 actually, that have not stood the test against either cat. The first one, my cat pawed the bowl away from the feeder and would paw the paddle until it dropped food. The fixed that problem with the second iteration that they sent me after that one broke, but now BOTH cats figured out that they can lift the entire feeder back with their noses and let it slam forward dropping food. It gets quite noisy and aggressive. Well my cat recently broke the top off when he knocked it completely over (I can share pics for those interested).
All of that to say - I need a recommendation for a new Automatic Feeder that isn’t easily destroyed or hackable by a ‘starving’ kitten. Please help. My cats are smarter than Petmate.

I have seen posts from people who fear they will never be able to enjoy eating out with friends again after surgery.
Well, I am about 10 weeks post op, and I went to a 5-course dinner event last night, and enjoyed everything!
Courses were spaced 20 minutes apart. The first three courses were served family style, so I was able to serve myself just a spoonful or two of the dish. (For me, it was better than having a pre-portioned plate served to me, because I would be sad if I couldn't finish.)
Fourth course was fish, individually plated. I ate about 2 ounces, and gave the rest to my friend to take home to her son.
Fifth course, dessert, was half of an ice cream sandwich. By this time I should have showed some restraint, but it was a small portion, about 4 ounces.
Over the course of two hours, I ate about 12 ounces. It helped that some of the food, like the ice cream, doesn't take up much space in my stomach.
***However, this is a rare treat, I don't recommend trying to eat like this every day. Just wanted to help ease some fears that you'll never be able to enjoy food or social gatherings again.

Hey guys, I have a narcissist mother and haven’t talked to her since July of last year. I emailed her back and fourth for a month or so and decided to just leave that whole part behind. But every now and then will text me “Merry Christmas” or something random like just letting you know “the dog” had to be put down or I hope you are all well, miss you. I'm currently working on a homebrew d20 system (combining elements of PF1, 3.5e, 5e, D20 Modern, and Star Wars Saga Edition). I'm trying to decide how armor should work in my system and these are the ideas I had, please give me any feedback you can:

• Armor Class (D&D)
• Armor as DR
• DR or Armor Class depending on type
• Armor Class and DR

The third one would work like this:
Light Armor: provides an AC bonus but no DR
Medium Armor: provides an AC bonus and DR
Heavy Armor: provides DR but no AC bonus

Light Armor: Light armor provides a modest bonus to both AC and DR. Examples of light armor could include padded armor or leather armor. For example, wearing padded armor might provide a +1 bonus to AC and a DR of 1, meaning the character takes 1 less damage from each attack.
Medium Armor: Medium armor provides a decent amount of protection with slightly more emphasis on DR than AC. Examples of medium armor could include chain mail or scale mail armor. For example, wearing chain mail armor might provide a +2 bonus to AC and a DR of 2.
