This morning I got a letter, basically advising that I had nor been paying my court mandated amount for a CCJ in my name, from the address she moved to.
When we broke up she left me with a lot of council tax and credit card debt, which I finished paying back a few months ago.
From what I can tell she transfered the Internet to the new place but kept it in my name
The letter claims I was ordered by the court to pay £100/month back in Jan 2023, but I never got a court summons, notification of the debt or anything at all. I thought we were done back in 2020 and i have been paying off the other debts to be shut of her.

I work in hospitality, a very popular chain company here at the UK, I won't mention the name, but I can honestly say, it's the best job I've ever had, I didn't think I would enjoy a job so much especially working the night shifts. When I was being interviewed, everything was sounding amazing until they mentioned I would be working completely alone, I have to admit that made my heart skip a beat and I almost refused the job. But honestly accepting the job was the best thing I ever did and being there for nearly 2 years has proven that, I still can't believe I work there. The staff are amazing, the guests are 99.9% pleasant and overall I'm very happy.
But of course, where there's good, there is bad. Sure I've dealt with awkard guests, guests who came back drunk after a night out, I even had to kick out a few guests because they were being way too loud and disturbing other guests sleeping. So it's not all sun shine and roses I admit but that doesn't put me off my job. Until one night where a guest made me question that very thing.
It happened a few weeks ago, I arrived at my normal time to take over from evening staff, the duty manager that was working took me to one side and gave me the run down on what happened to her and the staff that evening during dinner service. According to her, the 2 guests (a man and a woman) who is staying in room 1 was acting very strange, apparently they stepped out to have a cigarette but the guy was disturbing the guests who was eating dinner, by slamming his entire body against the windows that looked into the restaurant, shouting profanities, and making rude hand gestures. He then disappeared for a few minutes then came back with a fire extinguisher that he got from our bin shed. Whilst all this was happening, the duty manager stepped out and gave him a warning and told him if they disturb any more guests or attempts to destroy the hotel property again, they'll be out. Apparently the guy made some empty threatening remarks then disappeared back into his room with his lady friend.
The duty manager assured me that it's highly doubtful that the strange couple will come out of their room for the rest of the night and that everything should be ok. Oh how wrong she was.
After the duty manger and front of house staff left at around 11.15pm, i locked the doors and grabbed my panic button, something that the manager insists us night shift workers wear as a precaution, and although I never had to use it, I'm very glad I wore it that night. I knuckled down and got on with my duties, cleaning, setting up continental breakfast, emptying rubbish bags, counting the till, restocking juices and defrosting pancakes, crumpets and muffins. Little but necessary jobs. At around 1.30am I just finished mopping and getting ready to sit down to take a little break with some snacks and scroll through my phone in the restaurant area, I was just about to take a bite when all of a sudden I heard the hotel door open. It was the couple from room 1, making their way outside to have another cigarette. Going by what the duty manager told me about the guy I didn't feel at all safe being alone in the open, so I gathered all my things and made my way to the office where I could lock myself in a keep an eye on them on the CCTV monitor.
Some time went by, and the lady made her way back in, and she did not look at all well, she was walking so slowly, like she was in pain, swaying while she walked, stopping every few steps, but she managed to get back into her room from what I can see on the monitors. The guy how ever was not at all in a rush to go back to the room. He made his way back in the hotel with his key card and decided he was going to explore the restaurant area, ok nothing alarming, at first i thought he was looking for me, and I almost opened the door to let him know I was there, until I looked up at the monitor and there he was standing on a table and dancing, now I know that doesn't sound at all threatening but you have to admit, very strange behaviour. So instead of opening the door, I decided to observe him for a while and for the next hour or so, his behaviour went from strange, to damn right disturbing.
As I said he started off by just dancing on a table, then danced around the restaurant area, then made his way to the lobby area where he decided to stand very still like a statue, then a few seconds later, move position, then stand still again. Again not very threatening, in fact I was giggling a little just watching him doing what ever the heck he was doing. But the worse was yet to come.
At around 2.45am the guy was still acting strange, he was constantly going in and out of the hotel, dancing some more and jumping around. Then he decided it would be a good idea to take the condiment tray, take a seat on the chair behind the desk and start drinking the ketchup and brown sauce. Ok, now his behaviour has gone from strange, to a bit concerning. I was not about to open the office and tell him he needs to stop what he's doing and go back to his room, being a lone female worker I wasn't about to put myself in any danger, but I wasn't in enough danger to call anybody so again, I just watched him. As time went on his behaviour slowly went from concerning to disgusting.
Around 3.25am after he finished drinking the condiments, he got up and took his shirt off and wiped away the sauce that was around his mouth, he then draped his shirt over the desk chair walked around a little bit until he came to a complete stop and slowly turned his head towards the office door. Now I'm scared, the way he slowly walked towards the office door, the way he made direct eye contact at the camera as if to say, "I know you're in there watching me" he pressed his body against the office door and started kissing it whilst making direct eye contact with the camera, he then started putting his hand down his shorts and yes he was doing exactly what you're thinking. I felt sick, my whole body broke into a kind of frozen mode, like I couldn't believe what I was looking at but I knew I had to do something and fast.
So I pressed my panic button and called the police, I wanted him gone, time was passing fast and pretty soon breakfast service would be starting and I didn't want any other guests to be in danger. As I was on the phone to the police I spoke in a kind of whisper talk, so the guy right outside the door couldn't hear me, I told the dispatcher everything and of course they sent a call out for officers to come to the hotel to see the situation. It was just before 4am when the police officers arrived, and the guy was still in the lobby area but not doing what he was doing before. Instead in a very dramatic way he went down on his knees and yelled "not me, not me" I made my way out of the office, feeling safer that the police were there and whilst he was still on his knees with his hands above his head I told one officer everything that I told dispatch. The officers tried to communicate with him that him and his lady friend needs to leave the premises, there was a language barrier I think the guy was polish he kept saying "not me" or " I no go"
One officer asked to be let into his room to check on the lady friend, as soon as I opened the door, we were hit with the most foulest of smells ever, it smelt like urine and feaces, bottle of beer scattered everywhere, hard drugs on the bedroom desk. The lady friend was sat up naked on the bed that was drenched with urine and alcohol. I never seen anything like it.
After much argueing and alot more police officers arriving with a riot van. The guy was arrested and was put into the back of the van. A relative arrived just before 6.15 am to collect the lady. They couldn't be more apologetic, trying to explain to me that both of them had mental issues and have been missing for days. I tried to be understanding, I really did, but after what I saw, at that moment I just wanted them gone.
By 6.45am the police and the couple were gone. And the day manager arrived. I told them everything and showed them what had happened on the cctv. They gave me a big hug and praised me for how I treated the situation, but all I wanted to do was go home and take a long hot shower and go to bed. I was exhausted.
It's been a few weeks and I was told the guy was charged for indesent exposure and the lady is staying with a relative. I really do hope that both of them get the help they desperately need. As for me, I'm still working there, I'm not about to let one major incident make me leave a job I love. But what it has taught me, is to always, always trust your gut, if I didn't run to the office when I did, god knows what would of happened to me.

When I filed my return, I observed that my T4 did not have the complete amount of taxes I paid (i.e. I added up all of the provincial tax I paid in Quebec over the course of the year). So the TurboTax advisor told me to just manually enter the new amount in the corresponding line.
NOA comes back and it's like they completely ignored it. If i added up the total amount of what I've already paid, and what the CRA is asking for, it's nearing $50k+ on a $105k salary.

I have two rat boys who are almost a year old now. One of them is the sweetest little boy and has never hurt anyone at all. The other one really lets you know if he’s unhappy and regularly bites me really hard. They haven’t been living in the very best conditions. Their cage was on the smaller side and I had to leave them with my partner for two months, who did not have as much time to care for the rats as they maybe needed. Now they’re with me again, living in a palace of a cage and I let them free roam every day, give them plenty of various food and treats and try my best to entertain and love them. I thought with that change of scenery and care, pebbles biting would get better, I’ve been really trying to train with him, show him that he doesn’t need to bite me and it definitely got a bit better - often he bites me very lightly to show me to fuck off, but doesn’t actually hurt me, which I see as a big progress. But it just escalates so quickly and suddenly he bites me so hard he’s hanging onto my hand… it really makes it difficult for me to deal with him, I get scared and that makes him more skitterish.
My question is, do you have any advice? Is there a way to change his behavior at all? I know I should think about castrating, but so far I haven’t found a vet near me that offers this service. Would it be okay to just leave him alone? Obviously take care of him and let him free roam, but just not really interact with him, as it seems that he really doesn’t enjoy it? Or would I be neglecting him by that?

Background : Long story short, I have been doing a money mission for a long time (I am one the cubs, which is taking A LOT). In the process, many things happened. One of the most important is that the owner of the house I am living in decided to come back living here.
I live in Italy in a city near the sea so this was the absolutely worst timing to change an house, the rental of house is now between 800/900€ for 50 mq² and to worsen the situation many of them are in rental for holidays. Plus I have a few spare times because I work for many hours. Adding to this, the rental situation here is terrible. Many newspapers related to my city from months speak about the lack of free houses, and many are quitting jobs for this.
What happened : I did what you would do in those types of situations : ask, ask, ask and go everywhere, and talk to anyone. Nothing, zero, nada for months.
I decided to switch my SH sessions due to timing coming close. Something popped up, but it wasn't the best. Houses in the middle of nowhere for 600€, destroyed houses in making of a rebuilding, you can guess my mindset.
So, I tried to be as specific as ever during SH. I was living in an apartment, huge, cool and for cheap.
What happened :
A woman called me at work saying that her house was free for rent. It was perfect apart from a thing. Rental was 700€ and upfront payment was 6k € due to previous people lying to her and not paying monthly.
I told her I was okay anyway with it. At least it's still something. During that time I was still searching for new houses and such.
One month from there, she called me to sign the contract. I was terribly angry that day because she wasn't answering anywhere, and I thought I was scammed, so I took time to proceed with emotions and such.
To my surprise she told me that the lawyer took extra time to make the contract because He found out she could pay less taxes, so she switched the monthly payment to 600€ for this 90mq² house.( I was paying 520 for 65 mq² for this one) AND she is going to take the bare minimum of upfront (1800€ instead of 6k) because I am still young and she didn't want to overload me with taxes.
So in short, I will pay only 80€ more monthly, for a way bigger house, found in desperate times, paying less then half of upfront taxes and I will also get back 1500€ of the actual upfront I did for this house.

Hi, I am 39f, and my Dad 65M told me he was going to propose to his lovely lady in 5 days (this was Sunday) . However, he was going to be out of town until the day's event, and asked if I would coordinate it. Yes, of course I would be happy to help.
I didn't have time to research, plan, purchase decorations, etc. but had a budget to hire someone for a simple, elegant night. I found a person and their company on FB, talked about what I was looking for, my budget, my time frame, and met the next day at the location. I was shown pictures and we agreed on a price for balloon garlands, fairy lights, candles, flowers (specifically white roses), dinnerware service, with set up and take down included for $xxx.
After meeting, we decided to add more balloons and flowers, was told yes it was possible to do, and upped the price $200 more.
Day of setup, we had the time 3pm-6pm set (dinner was at 6:30) for decorating. They showed up at 3:35, slapped string lights and white balloons with masking tape to the walls, and had two Ballon garlands...nothing like the pictures, it lacked dimension and looked like two 10ft white catipillars. Plain plates on a wood circle, with a scrap of fabric with fraying edges for napkins. It took 2 hours to hang the lights and balloons (with ladders I had to find) and we ran out of time. It wasn't the complete setup as told, but I didn't want to dampen the evening and just went with what we got. As they left, I realized there were zero flowers anywhere.
WIBTA if I asked for a partial refund? Part of me is like, well, you get what you pay for as a rush job, then another part of me thinks I DIDN'T get services that were agreed on (extra balloons, flowers, and independent setup. It wouldn't have been anywhere near as finished without extra hands or tools provided).
I will be there for takedown tomorrow, and don't know how to approach or what to say to this lady about this situation.

I began with a mistake; around January of 2023, I was convinced by my dad and uncle to buy a property partnered with my uncle; essentially, my uncle and I were going to pay for it via a mortgage.
Now let me give a bit of background to this. First, this all takes place in Puerto Rico, and as you know, PR, well... it's not in the best state, I guess you could say; as for me, I was 21 at the time with no knowledge about real estate what's so ever, so as you can already see we're starting on the wrong foot, as for my dad he knows a couple of things but surface level nothing too profound, now as for my uncle his the one who brought us the deal. My uncle works on a small business owned by the property owner, also located on the property my uncle was offered. According to the owner, he wanted to sell the property to someone who would also take over the Air conditioning business. His sons didn't want it and were doing their own thing, so he decided to sell it to my uncle AKA "the son he never had," however my uncle, well, he doesn't have the money, and that's where I come in at the time I had recently received a lot of money from some insurance my dad had done a long time ago so my uncle came to us and pretty much sold us on the dream that the owner had promised which entailed the following: first from an original price of 1 million dollars he would sell it to us by half $500k it is a 3.88-acre approx. property and has two main buildings. But the cherry on top was that he was going to give us the business and that with the business, we would be able to pay for the mortgage plus, he was going to stay with us every step of the way for the next six months also it was a ten year 0% fixed interest rates with a 25k down payment. the owner flexed about how much the company made, how he owned X, Y, and Z, and that he had traveled to many places, etc., and like good little trusting fool, I bought into it.
I'm not that social my communication sucks and I'm way to passive I all ways had my questions and doubts but I never mustered the courage to state them or anything my dad and my uncle were full on head first trusting especially my uncle since he had been working there for years and according to him the business was doing great and moving a lot of money (emphasis on "Moving"), my dad did ask some important questions about numbers and debts and other things but the "numbers" were never really shown only checks and words that were tossed around with a lot of "yeah, yeah tomorrow" or "soon" it's also important to note that both my uncle and my dad can be quite gullible for reasons that we shan't name but yeah after merely a couple of weeks passed everything was extremely fast and rushed and we were told we could go seal up the deal anytime and we went with a lot of trust and hopes and so we took over the business and we quickly found out how false and shit everything was starting with day one the owner left for vacation and along with him went the promise to stay with us for the next six months and guide us we didn't even have access to the company's bank accounts till nearly a moth later so I spent the first moth learning with the secretary wtf I had in my hands and I quickly learned that what I had in my hands was a near dead horse full of NEGATIVE RED NUMBERS! as well as a horrible infrastructure and also an imbalance between income vs expenses I check with the business bank and its history for the past couple of years and found it full of negative numbers now I have no idea to this day what the hell the owner was doing whether he was laundering money, avoiding taxes, using the business as a credit card or some sort of other trick
Yesterday I finished up with the layer and stuff to undo all this. Thankfully it went smoothly with no issues with the owner or anything overall. I lost like $55k during the whole thing. Some fail, and some win. At least I got out of it fast and minimized my losses from and learned much one of which is always start small. TL;DR: I got scammed into buying a property and a business where the owner promised me the company could pay for the mortgage and then some, only to find out it was a dead business!? And the buildings needed expansion permits and water meters because the owner had it set up as residential and not commercial.

We met 2 years ago. Everything was amazing. I have a daughter from a previous relationship and always worried about being able to find the perfect man.
I ended up dating an amazing man (at the time).
As time went on he would act strange and when he met my friends he said they were not good for me. (i know red flags, but my friends are crazy but they are good to me and i am just the quiet one in the group).
We were "doing" stuff in bed one night and he bite my lip and wouldn't let it go. He said that I was a whore and loved attention.
I left him after this. Then after work I got home, outside my front door was flowers, a massive new mirror, a card, and new furniture. I rang him to say thank you. He apologised and said he has issues with gambling.
I told him i would help i was happy he told me.
Time went on we went on holidays he spolied us rotten with gifts, disney, italy, trips everywhere. And then every few months he would blip, call me horrible names, say horrible things about my body (to the point where i can not even look at myself in the mirror anymore).

Every few month blips, turned into every fortnight, every weekend and recently every other day.
I left him ages ago. But I still see him sometimes as my daughter loves him, his family our like my family. It really was a dream relationship, i sometimes regretted ending it, but i didn't like what it was doing to my energy levels and mental health. Everything had to be about him. If i went out with a friend he would get drunk in my house and ask me if i was woth another man. (literally in work uniform after work beers and food with 2 female friends) i stopped going out. He had fake social media accounts under different names to talk to women, was on sex meetup sites. He was going to gambling meetings and getting close woth females there. I had enough and left.
FAST FORWARD.
Past few weeks i have been feeling absolutely amazing. I have felt free, doing fun things, enjoying life, beach trips, out with friends. I was ignoring his texts.

He rang me saying he needed help badly. He's in debt and needs me to help him get well. He was crying. I said okay, you can stay with me for 4 weeks, until pay day.
The first 3 days were fun and as the weekend approached he asked if we could try to be a family again. I said no. I don't love you, i am here to help you, that's it.
He kept asking, and asking and asking. He admitted that hundreds of women have been propositioned him (from work and his home town) and he has wasted his time on me. I told him i was happy for him and he should move on. He agreed.
We planned to go swimming this weekend. He came to pick me up. (i noticed 100€ was missing).
He said he dropped it.
I counted money and he asked me again about being a family. I said no stop asking. He said no point in living ill just go gamble.
We got into a huge argument. He was trying to get bank card to gamble and i ended up flushing it down the toilet. (im not an anrgy person but i have been lisntening to gambling stuff non stop for 2 years and reacted). I told him he needed help, i couldn't do it alone.
I had money in my hand sitting down. He stood staring at me. He walked over and put his arms out wide and i thought he was giving me a hug(hes 6.6ft 18 stone, big big guy). He slapped both sides of my face and squeezed really hard saying"your mine i want you, I want you, i need you" over and over again. (left a small bruise)
I locked myself outside. He left. My daughter was in neighbours house at pool party. I rang my mum. My mum rang the police. And the police are now wanting to put my child on a protection list with social services. (ie. Her dad will get custody (whole other dilemma she hates going to his house, he won't let her be a kid ie.messy time, he doesn't play with her).
I know he won't come near me again, just want to be at peace and enjoy like last week.
I can't sleep now, my mental health is very very low because I am afraid I am going to loose my daughter. I lay awake all night looking at her.
My whole life is all about her. I am an amazing mother, my daughter is confident, intelligent, emotionally intune, empathic and so loving.
She's top in her class for reading and maths. I take her swimming everyweek, to the beach, holidays, horse riding, fishing. Everything i have goes to my daughter.
And now because my mum reported my ex for domestic violence, I am going to loose my daughter.
I just feel like giving up.

Overall, had a really fantastic experience at the San Diego leg of the Re:SET concert series.
Cons/Things that could be improved:
1) there were plenty of Porto-potties but they were all in one area. I mean, the space itself isn’t that big so I guess this wasn’t that big of a deal but having bathrooms on the west side as well would have been nice.
2) more food options please. The food to bar ratio was like 1:7. There were 5 different food vendors and a plethora of bars.
3) the stage could have benefited from having some side screens like the Mojave Tent but this is more of a “would be nice to have” as I had a really good view. boygenius used the available production really well meanwhile Clairo started with the some visuals but then they kind fizzled towards the end. Would have like to see a tiny bit more effort with the visual production.
Pros/Things I Loved:
1) im not a major audiophile and maybe someone who is would disagree but I thought the sound and acoustics were great. Could hear all the vocals and all the instruments. I was about 30 feet to the right of the sound booth and could see and hear clearly. I don’t think there was really a bad spot in the crowd.
2) getting in and out was super easy. I took a Lyft in and was dropped off around 6:30. Security was chill and no line to get in. I didn’t have a bag or anything and didn’t get a pat down. Just standard metal detectors. Today, I wore sterling silver jewelry and if that didn’t set on the metal detectors, I don’t think a vape pen will either (didn’t have one on me and I’m sure that’s what others are most concerned with). Left a little early to beat the crowd and I was pretty hungry. Took the trolley out to Mission Valley, got food, then lyfted home. If you’re driving, I highly recommend the trolley. Park at a nearby station that has park and ride and trolley in. Super convenient, save yourself the stadium parking rate
3) the overall vibe and atmosphere today was pretty fantastic. A lot of that may have to do with boygenius being today’s headliner and I think tomorrow will be way busier and more crowded but all in all, the crowd was great. I skipped boygenius at Coachella because I already had tickets for this and even though I’m not a huge fan (i like them for sure but I wouldn’t say I’m a stan by any means) I loved hearing their fans sing along to every word. It was really special. I didn’t encounter one rude person whatsoever. Everyone was super polite and used their words when navigating the crowd. Didn’t encounter excessive talking.
4) the stage being in the south side, facing north, made for a truly picturesque scene with the nearly full moon rising overhead. Truly was a breathtaking view.
Overall rating: 4/5. And really the only reason it’s not a 5 is that it still feels like the price is steep for what we got. A 3 day pass should have been about $200-$250 not $300. But I think they did a really good job overall with the set up and sound. And I really hope Re:SET continues in the future past this month. I think it really is a great concept and I hope people continue to support these endeavors
Other tip: it got a little chilly in the valley there. I didn’t find myself shivering or anything but I wouldn’t have minded a jacket or flannel. And I wasn’t paying $70+tax for the Re:SET jacket.
If you’re in or near SD and don’t have plans tomorrow, definitely recommend coming out for tomorrow’s lineup.

My German flatmate recently mentioned to me that in Germany, there was compulsory military service that evolved into compulsory community service after they decided that the military wasn't important anymore. Essentially, young people would need to spend a year or two working in some field with a labour shortage such as nursing to alleviate community problems.
Beyond helping to solve labour shortages though, it also makes people work with others from totally different backgrounds, and you learn what struggles they face by experiencing it yourself. This results in a lot more understanding and empathy between people in society.
Now I'm not saying we should force people to do things they don't want to, but maybe there could be some benifits to taking inspiration from that? E.g. I personally would gladly help on constructing local infrastructure and much needed housing, but I don't have the energy to work 2 jobs, and besides, a second job gets taxed pretty hard so it's not really incentivised much.
What would things look like if we had a day or two each week to perform optional community service to earn back a tax break? E.g. if you pay $15k in taxes, you can earn that back through community service. Not affected by your tax bracket, so each person earns at the same rate regardless of their regular income.
What do people think? Too crazy?

Nearly 15 years ago, I went to work for a company. The intent was for me to complete a project in quality and then move over into program management but someone quit and I was asked to fill in as a customer quality engineer. This meant that every month, I traveled to customer sites, did the first pass analysis of our defective products, and got yelled at - A LOT. It sucked.
Also worth mentioning, our branch of the company was too small to use the corporate travel so for every trip I was scouring discount travel sites to find the cheapest flight/hotel/car. I was ridiculously vigorous in seeking best prices. If the shittiest shitbox car was $32/day and the not-so-shitty car was $34/day, I picked the $32/day car to save the company $2/day.
One fine trip, several months in, was spectacularly awful. Not only did I have a truly terrible car, the hotel was all new depths of yuck. My shoes stuck to the carpet in my room and the security flipper thing on the door was plastic. Also, it was in the worst part of town and I worried about my safety to the point that I ended up pulling the little couch over to block the door and sleeping on it.
Adding to my misery, I was sick. I had some creeping crud that plugged my sinuses and made me long for death. Normally, I’d have canceled the trip but the customer was in an uproar about our continued repeating defects and required someone to be there.
I made this trek every month. And once during every trip, I would eat at the local Outback Steakhouse. It was a known quantity, the people who worked there were great, and it helped me to have that connection.
On this particular trip, I made my way to the outback for dinner and I was clearly sick and miserable. And the workers took care of me. They sat me next to the fireplace, brought me tea, and had the kitchen make me chicken noodle soup even though it wasn’t on the menu. I nearly cried I was so grateful. My bill for dinner was less than $10 so I charged $20. Yes, more than a 100% tip but their kindness kept me going.
I got home, did my expense report, and turned it in. My director called me into his office and screamed at me about how the corporate policy was 10% tip and it should never exceed 15% and what was wrong with me for paying them so much. Remember: total bill including “excessive” tip was $20. It broke me. Well. It shattered my loyalty to the company’s bottom line.
So, I made them give me the corporate travel policy where the tip policy was outlined and from that moment on, I followed the corporate travel policy exactly. No more shitbox $32/day cars; I’m in midsize or better. No more flying out at 4am in the center seat; the flights fit my schedule and I sat where I wanted. No more scary hotels in the worst part of town; now I’m staying at the nicest executive hotel allowed by the policy.
The cost of my trips were pretty regularly double or triple what they had been, adding up to thousands of dollars a year but I never disobeyed their allowable tip policy again.
The true irony: their corporate tip policy actually had verbiage that said “exceptional” service could be recognized with an additional gratuity but basically, don’t make a habit of it. Also, the allowable per diem was $50/day and a receipt was only required if over that amount so the tip that started the whole thing was within per diem, allowable for exceptional service, and the receipt for it had not been necessary.

Well. Accident happened.
Was driving on a Houston highway. Truck with a landscaping trailer veered into my lane and hit my driver side back area. Long version short the guy came to me on the shoulder of the highway saying it was his fault. He literally said, “I’m so sorry, I have insurance, it’s not a problem. You’ll be covered.”
Told him fine. No worries. I’m ok. Will call the police and we can make a statement then.
Well. He changed his statement. When I spoke to the police they said my insurance will easily find him at fault due to how the damage looks. I asked them to write in the report. They said they didn’t need to. I asked multiple times. They stated they didn’t want to take a side but felt it was clear his trailer came to my lane and damaged my car.
Got my car towed to Tesla collision, but the truck drops me at Tesla Service (2.5 miles away from Collision). Turns out that Tesla collision is different than Tesla Service. This matters later.
Have spoke with my insurance multiple times. Finally they told me that if the police didn’t assign fault at the scene it was a he said she said and I’d be responsible. I told them the police stated it was clear w/the damage to my car that there is no way I could have caused the wreck. My back wheel didn’t impact them without my front starting a swerve.
Anyway. My last insurance person I spoke with had a deep southern accent and told me sometimes life just isn’t fair. Unfortunately I will likely pay for my claim and be responsible.
I told her this was not acceptable and I expect State Farm to fight for me given all the reasons above. She basically told me they will not.
I looked at my coverage tonight. My agent I signed up with apparently only covered me for 50k. My purchase price was near 70. My loan is now 49. And I put 24k down.
So. If this is my fault. I will loose my entire down payment. Even though I have gap coverage with my loan. I trusted my insurance agent and will end up out 24k because of that. And. Unfortunately, I will not be able to afford another Model Y at this time.
All the tint/ PPF/ ceramic is just a loss.
I’m so angry. I miss my car.
Oh. Also. Tesla can’t even look at my car til July 15th. So, I will exhaust all my rental coverage before they even can see my car. Just more out of pocket.
Finally. The tow truck driver left my car at Tesla Service off Hempstead Highway in Houston. Tesla Collision is less than 3 miles away. I told Tesla my car was not drivable and unfortunately the tow driver dropped me at the wrong spot. Tesla service refused to get my car towed. Same at Tesla collision. So. I am $150 out of pocket for a 3 mile tow from one Tesla center to another. This is absolutely ridiculous. They even sent me a threatening message in app that they would impound my car as they refused to get it towed.

As you can see in the photo below, one of the plastic parts of the casing is now open (the vacuum fell onto the floor from where it was leaned against a wall temporarily). Silly of me, I know, but now the suction isn't as good and when I blocked the main suction tube it seemed like it was also pulling air in through this hole.
