2023.06.03 21:48 ThrowRA_MTB_Newbee Macht die Beziehung noch Sinn? (M 36 / F 27)

Hallo liebe Community,
Was meint ihr dazu?

2023.06.03 19:58 MGK_2 Tone Deaf

I truly do appreciate all those who do post the studies on CCR5 and CCL5 and what the effects are of allowing and / or disallowing this chemical inter-cellular communication to and / or from happening. These studies go a long way into deciphering, unveiling and understanding the truth about this immunoregulatory communication cascade. I feel like these are akin to rays of light that shoot across the din of darkness where much is spoken, but little is said and even less heard. Most of the vast deluge of information is of minimal consequence, but the information discussing this cellular communication signal, really is of massive consequence.
For example, take this shooting star for instance: Barriers between Anti-CCR5 Therapy, Breast Cancer and Its Microenvironment and take note perrenialloser, these authors are not Chinese: by Elizabeth Brett , Dominik Duscher , Andrea Pagani , Adrien Daigeler , Jonas Kolbenschlag , Markus Hahn .
Many things are included in the article, but these are only a snippet:
"CCL5 is a potent chemokine with a physiological role of immune cell attraction and has gained particular attention in R&D for breast cancer treatment. Its receptor, CCR5, is a well-known co-factor for HIV entry through the cell membrane*. Interestingly,* biology research is unusually unified in describing CCL5 as a pro-oncogenic factor*, especially in breast cancer. In silico,* in vitro and in vivo studies blocking the CCL5/CCR5 axis show cancer cells become less invasive and less malignant*, and the extracellular matrices produced are* less oncogenic*. At present, CCR5 blocking is a mainstay of HIV treatment, but* despite its promising role in cancer treatment, CCR5 blocking in breast cancer remains unperformed*.*
As with all other forms of cancer, prognosis is strongly influenced by the clinical stage at which the cancer is diagnosed. The later the cancer is diagnosed, the more likely it is that the patient will not recover from the disease.
By acting as a classical chemotactic cytokine for T cells, eosinophils, basophils and other cells, CCL5 recruits leukocytes to the site of inflammation, induces proliferation of NK cells and is an HIV-suppressive factor released from CD8+ T cells. The receptor with the highest affinity for CCL5 is the CC motif chemokine receptor 5 (CCR5), being mainly expressed in T cells, smooth muscle endothelial cells, epithelial cells and parenchymal cells. The CCL5/CCR5 interaction facilitates inflammation, adhesion and migration of T cells in immune responses. CCR5 is involved in chronic diseases, cancers and COVID-19 infection.
There is a wealth of evidence showing that CCL5 is co-opted in breast cancer and in many other types of tumors, such as pancreatic, ovarian, prostate and glioma cancer. In vitro and in vivo tests show that blocking or knocking down CCL5/CCR5 is detrimental to tumors such breast cancer and limits metastases. The possibility of targeting the CCL5/CCR5 axis and inducing an antitumor environment is therefore real but challenging. However, a CCR5 blocker that can be part of cancer therapy has yet to be developed.
As introduced before, CCL5 is an extremely powerful chemoattractant with a physiologic role in recruiting immune cells in inflammatory or allergic circumstances CCL5 binds with high affinity to its main receptor CCR5, but also to CCR1, -3, -4, CD44 and GPR75. CCR5 is a seven-transmembrane G-protein-coupled receptor expressed on various cell types, such as T cells, macrophages, dendritic cells, eosinophils and microglia. The interaction between CCR5 and its high-affinity molecules (e.g., CCL5, CCL3, CCL4 and CCL8) results in G protein activation and a following boost of different signal transduction pathways. One of these is represented by NF-kB (Nuclear Factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer), in which CCL5 represents an important target gene.
As mentioned before, the CCL5/CCR5 interaction facilitates cancer progression through several different mechanisms. CCL5/CCR5 interaction increases tumor dimensions, induces ECM remodeling, increases cellular migration and metastasis formation, supports cellular stemness and expansion along the tumor borders, confers on cancer cell resistance to therapies, decreases DNA damage, deregulates cellular energetics (metabolic reprogramming), promotes angiogenesis, recruits immune and stromal cells and induces the immunosuppressive polarization of macrophages.
There is an unmatched level of evidence supporting the participation of all chemokines other than CCL5 in the construction, development and operation of the primary invasive breast tumor. CCL5 is also ubiquitous across breast cancer cases, being present at stages I, II and III, and over 95% of triple-negative breast tumors are CCR5+*.*
Belonging to a different pharmacological family, Leronlimab is a humanized igG4k monoclonal antibody also able to bind CCR5. Adams et al. recently reported some clinical trials testing Leronlimab in metastatic TNBC patients. The phase 1b/2 dose escalation (NCT03838367), Compassionate Use (NCT04313075) and the Basket Study (NCT04504942) were pooled in order to evaluate the drug’s safety and efficacy at 12 months. After the analysis of 28 metastatic TNBC patients, the authors showed that Leronlimab has significant antitumor activity. The clinical trials suggest that metastatic TNBC patients dosed with Leronlimab have a real clinical benefit with improved 1-year progression-free and overall survival and few treatment-emergent adverse events. Finally, after exploring the effect of Leronlimab on circulating tumor-associated cells (TACs) from peripheral blood, the authors revealed that Leronlimab resulted in a drop in circulating TACs in the majority of patients correlating with early therapy response.
Within the tumor, cancer cells secrete CCL5 and sustain the proliferation of CCR5-positive cells, recruit T-regulatory cells and monocytes, cause osteoclast activation and bone metastasis, neo-angiogenesis and cancer cells dissemination. CCR5 is therefore overexpressed in breast, head, neck, gastric, esophageal, pancreatic and prostate cancer, colorectal carcinoma, melanoma, Hodgkin’s lymphoma, acute lymphocytic leukemia and other tumors. In the clinical setting, higher cytoplasmic CCR5 staining and CCR5 receptor levels correlate with poor prognosis in breast cancer and gastric adenocarcinoma patients. Even elevated levels of its main ligand CCL5 indicate poor prognosis in breast, cervical, prostate, ovarian, gastric and pancreatic cancer and metastatic colorectal carcinoma."

But here is the bit of light only we who have those polarized sun glasses can appreciate. On 12/7/22, Cyrus puts forth CytoDyn's Plans to get Leronlimab to market. Essentially, it is the Investor Deck, filed with the SEC and it lays out his game plan for bringing Leronlimab to the people. One of the main problems with this prognostic plan is that share holders can not see it unfolding. The reason for this is that the #1 Priority of this plan is to get the clinical hold on Leronlimab Lifted. This process is shielded from shareholder sight. The other problem is that many of the remaining goals of the Investor Deck are dependent on meeting the 1st goal, the #1 priority. Therefore, they too are shielded from shareholder's view. Therefore, shareholder's can's see the plan unfolding.
This is what Cyrus said, " "9:25: We expect next year, 2023 to be catalyst driven in terms of growth and development for the company and we think that the table is set for a large number of significant developments to occur in early '23, including the submission of our complete response to the partial clinical hold for HIV, new additions to the leadership team, a corporate rebranding, and then following those events, we plan on initiating a NASH trial as well as continuing the advancement of the long acting CCR5 molecule."
However, along the way, Cyrus has thrown us a bone or two and has given us some peeks as to what is happening and proof that things are in fact unfolding as he said they would. We have learned the name of the re-branding, LivImmune. There has recently been new additions to the leadership team, Melissa Palmer, MD as new CMO and Salah Kivlighn, PhD, Clinical & Strategic Advisor. By bringing on Melissa Palmer, MD Hepatologist, it can not be said any clearer that NASH is in the near future and CytoDyn's number one clinical indication. Cyrus has been saying that NASH would be monotherapy and wouldn't be combination therapy. We know that CytoDyn can not do it alone, it is too small. We can take a little deeper look and see that Dr. Palmer has a history with TAKeda pharmaceuticals. "Dr. Palmer left Kadmon in 2015 to become Global Lead on Shire's NASH program, as well as other liver-related issues within the company, such as orphan cholestatic liver diseases PFIC Alagilles, PSC and PBC, and liver-related safety issues (DILI), and was rapidly promoted to Global Development Lead - Hepatology and led the formation of the liver safety group. Shire was acquired by Takeda in 2019 at which time Dr. Palmer was recruited as Head of Liver Disease Development at Takeda." TAK has TAK-647 which is: " Ontamalimab is a fully human immunoglobulin G2 monoclonal antibody against mucosal addressin cell adhesion molecule-1 which failed phase 3 clinical trials for ulcerative colitis (UC) and Chrons Disease, but now is in Phase 1 clinical trials for NASH."
Prior to these we had: "12:56: We have also firmly established Dr. Scott Hansen as our Head of Research and Basic Science*.* Dr. Hansen is currently an Associate Professor at OHSU. and within this newly formalized role, Dr. Hansen will support our clinical development activities, related to biomarker and assay development for future clinical trials, as well as supporting and leading some of our earlier staged efforts, geared towards the development of longer acting molecules targeted to CCR5."
We learned that CytoDyn "13:33: has also recently entered into a joint development agreement with a 3rd party Research and Development Bio-Tech company to develop long acting or more longer acting molecule CCR5 blocking.
It goes without saying that CytoDyn needs help. CytoDyn has 4 different plays, and each play is devoid of a sufficient data pool which would draw in funding for that indication. Cyrus' long term goal expressed in the Investor Deck is to build out a strong enough clinical trial data pool to present it to a partner or a buyer. So then, without any cash of our own, Cyrus' plan is to have someone else's funding, partner with CytoDyn and build for us that data pool and in the end, have exactly those same partners compete for the entirety of the resultant conglomerate, for the whole or for a part once that data pool is firmly in hand.
The same story goes for HIV-Prep and HIV-Cure which is likely being run by the 3rd party Research and Development Bio-Tech company Vir, in collaboration to develop the long acting or a more longer acting molecule of CCR5 blockade. Vir is pretty much a given with Scott Hansen's strong connections there, but I remain skeptical due to the mechanism of action of VIR 1388 working to phagocytose HIV itself by initiating T Cells to target HIV epitopes while LL blocks CCR5. This was kept secret, but somewhat hinted at by Cyrus in the 4/11/23 Webcast .
We can apply the same logic in the Oncology study being run by MD Anderson using Merck's Keytruda in combination with Leronlimab. We had all been waiting to find out what had happened with the results of the MD Anderson study, and Cyrus threw us this line: "Leronlimab is currently being trialed in combination with Keytruda (pembrolizumab) in a breast cancer xenograft model in partnership with MD Anderson Cancer Center." From here, he gave us a hint of what is to come.
It can be assumed that as these collaborations are officially announced, that is, after the hold is lifted, that there shall be share price inflection. In his astute fashion, Cyrus has given us the secrets, has only threw us some bones, but, because of the strange times we live in, and because CytoDyn has not yet met Priority #1, the share price has not yet moved.
The only thing the market "sees" is the fact that the hold hasn't yet been lifted. They are "Blinded by the Light". The shooting stars grace the night sky, but nobody sees them, because everyone is blinded by the fact that the hold hasn't yet been lifted. Clothed by the blinding light, made tone deaf by the din of bewildering and unnecessary information. They say nothing else matters unless the hold is lifted and that is what share price is saying. Nothing else matters. Nobody even reads articles on CCR5/CCL5, they are meaningless without Priority #1 being met. That is what the market says. But what does the Fox say?
That's the point though, to use this as a blinding distraction and it is working. How else do the other Priorities get put into place, if there wasn't something put in place to distract from the construction? Of course, a clinical hold provides all the blinders necessary to construct partnerships within, without disclosure of their assembly. We can be assured, that everything Cyrus put together in that Investor Deck is happening. Maybe, not exactly as he said it would. Surely, he did not count on his getting sick, but, these things happen and he will recover and get right back on it, assuredly. Cyrus gave us that plan, so we can know what is happening despite the blinding light, despite the din of confusion that would be taking place in the proximal future ahead of that Investor Deck presentation which is taking place right now. He knew, that had he not provided those prognostic words, shareholders today would be blinded, but he gave us the plan, so we could see. The Investor Deck was free of charge, yet it was prognostic. It would have been impossible to see what is happening today, had it not been for that R & D Update then. We therefore can see the events unroll as they happen which lead to the goals he has set forth there in, as we have been witnessing them happening. That Deck was crucial for our understanding. Many of us have been pointing to that Deck, but no one more so than u/Upwithstock .
When the hold lifts, the blinders will be removed and all eyes shall be opened. Until then, only ours who have heard and understand that Investor Deck know what is happening now. All others remain blind to all of which is happening. They think it is all doom and gloom, but we know, that the Investor Plan is going forward. It is not a co-incidence that Cyrus told us all these things before this long period of waiting began. Long stents of time providing hardly any information. But when information did come, it was telling of the plan unfolding. Cyrus was saying, "Don't worry, the plan is going forward." So, he got sick, but there was a backup plan and likely, this was announced in a way he wasn't planning, but it was Plan B and he had our backs regardless and there wasn't even a set back. Cyrus will be back soon, assuredly. So, we wait for him.
How much hotter will it get? Hopefully, we get a webcast soon and I think it will be indicating that all has been recently submitted. I also hope that they will announce when Cyrus returns back to his seat. My eyes are glued to every detail that happens and how it correlates with the Investor Deck. It was given to us as shareholders, so lets stay focused on it and not be blinded. The sun is bright almost every day, but we are wearing special, polarized sun glasses. We will see that Deck unfold. Just hang on to your seats, because when it begins, it will happen quickly as it has been in the planning, design and soon to be rollout stages all the while. The triggering event approaches, and we know to look for it, so be ready.

2023.06.03 19:10 Temporary_Finger_644 Help me find good middle-eastern perfumes please!!

Hello!! Kinda long post sorry 'bout that. I (20F) recently got interested in perfumes thanks to this sub!! My first purchase, complete blind-buys (insane i know), were Yara and Khamrah by Lattafa. I loved both of them and got really optimistic about middle-eastern perfumes. Luckily instead of doing more blind buys I decided to purchase a bunch of decants. I was disappointed by almost all of them. I'll give my first impressions of them below.
Alhambra baroque rouge 540 - it’s fine kinda saffrony kinda sweet but overall eh? I don't think I care for the br540 DNA which feels like a crime.
Alhambra bright peach - smells like the stems of flowers. fresh and green not in a perfumey way, barely any peach. Smells like lemon zest/ tulsi leaves.
Alhambra lovely cherie - scented eraser, plastic barbie cherry scent. Cough syrupy.
Al rehab french coffee - pure concentrated coffee (decoction) without much sweetness in the beginning. Kinda smells like coffee biscuits soon with some green. I like it.
Lattafa raghba - incensey, woody. It's okay but not remarkable.
Paris corner emir camp fire - eh. I do get the woodiness with some incense too. I kinda like it.
Paris corner emir frenetic delicieuse - horrifying in an indescribable way. The reviews said chocolate covered cherries. It smells like amla shampoo.
Since I'm a total noob I'm no good at explaining the fragrances, but please let me know if you wanna know more about any of them and I'll try.
Okay the point is, if you own any of these do you just think I'm not giving them a fair shot? is a 2ml decant not good enough to make an informed decision? I'm open to changing my mind. And I'm open to any suggestions! I think i love creamy, dreamy scents like Yara and scents with personality and spice like Khamrah, basically gourmand and nothing toooo floral. I'm considering scents like Lattafa Nebras and Afnan Modest Deux (can't find em anywhere tho), Alhambra Delilah.
tl;dr: perfumes are kinda cool right?

2023.06.03 18:51 astralrocker2001 Welcome to the Prison Planet

(The OP of this material is gone, but this analysis deserves to be seen again):
I can see that, like myself, many on this subreddit are beginning to realize the truth of what is taking place here on Earth. The question is: how do we know what is true? How do we discern the truth from the lies? Well, let's analyze our lives here on Earth for a moment: we are born on this planet, and by the time we grow up, we have no memory of the first few years of our life. We also have no memory of ourselves prior to life on this planet, we're not sure what we are doing here, or how we got here. There are so many of those "big questions" about life that are seemingly unanswered, and at the same time, we are presented with a plethora of these "belief systems" that offer the answers to these questions. We have all these different religions, seemingly just there, waiting for us to believe in them. We have non-religious belief systems as well; one can choose to be an atheist, or one can choose to believe in "modern scientism" or humanism. With all these different religions and belief systems to believe in, how can they possibly all be right?
What if they were all the right choice, because it doesn't matter what belief system you choose to believe, the only thing that matters is that you choose something. After all, life is all about making choices - right?
The Corrupt Demiurge and The Duality Trap
This planet is overcome with a sickness; there is an oppressive force manifesting this system, that is so cleverly designed that a person could live their entire life never once realizing that everything is designed to work against us. What is causing this to happen? The false light/dark duality simulation which controls the planet - and in doing so controls each and every one of us. The Hermetic Principle of Polarity, which is discussed in the esoteric work The Kybalion explains that all of the opposites that make up our world are in fact two extremes of one spectrum. Light and dark, hot and cold, love and hate - all just the two extreme ends of the same thing, making up the duality of this world we experience. This begs the question: what are the single spectrums that these opposites are representing?
This is a problem, indeed, as many of these spectrums being described by polarity are things that we seemingly do not have any words for, and therefore no thoughts or ideas as to what many of them even are! This is a paradox that can be troublesome to reconcile in our minds; it seems that these "spectrums" of duality are often just outside the limits of our comprehension. We can attempt to try: black and white must be the extreme ends of gray, hot and cold could be the extreme ends of warm... ok, were getting somewhere - but inevitably you run into pairs of opposites that are too difficult to reconcile into one spectrum. For example, the opposite of freedom seems to be slavery - what could that be a spectrum of - movement? Light and dark is another pair of opposites that is too rigid to find a middle ground for what it could be describing. What gives? Well, Hermeticism is one of the many belief systems set up to deceive and trap us into the false light/dark paradigm, or as it is called in ancient Gnostic texts The Corrupt Demiurge.
The Corrupt Demiurge is a horrible construct that has been holding the Earth hostage for thousands of years, and they are responsible for all the devastation done to our planet, including orchestrating some of the most horrendous events in human history. They inflict suffering upon Humanity relentlessly, because our suffering and negative energy is what feeds them and sustains them and keeps them alive. Using the duality of light/dark good/evil they convince each and every one of us to choose a side, to believe in something, and then when we "die" (which is just an illusion, we are eternal beings and we never actually die) they exploit our beliefs that our soul picked up during its life on Earth, and they trick us into reincarnating back on Earth again, to live another life of unneeded suffering and hardship, in the painful, unforgiving material world.
How do they do this? The Corrupt Demiurge is made up of beings that Gnostic texts refer to as archons, which we can think of as demons, jinns, Lucifer etc. Anyone who read my post yesterday probably knows that I call these archons "Soul-sucking fucks". I was angry, and you should be also, but you need to not just believe, but know that this is what is taking place here on our planet. The greatest trick of the archons is that they are not only the demons, but they are also the angels. By playing both the light and dark teams, they are able to convince us to keep falling into their trap of reincarnation, so they may continue to feed off of our energy, as they have been for many, many, incarnations here on Earth. Our memories remain perpetually wiped with each new incarnation, which explains why we don't remember anything when we get here. The archons have tricked all of us into making lots of agreements with them, which entail things such as not committing the same sins we were guilty of in our prior life, in our next life, if one were Christian for example. As we can see in our current situation on this planet the archons love making us feel bad about ourselves. The archons are violating our free will in a massive way because no being should have authority over another being. Look at all the authority we are subjected to here on Earth - it is suffocating. Every human being needs to realize that they are not a bad person, systems set in place by the archons such as Christianity make it impossible to live the life required to get into the "kingdom of heaven" (barf). Luckily - they are going to give you one more chance to get it right - again, and again, and again, and again... and again, and again, and again, and again... Are you starting to get angry yet? Because it's ok to get angry.
As Above, So Below.
When the Demiurge first took hold on planet Earth thousands of years ago, Human beings were already aware of the true source of all creation, the true God that runs through each one of us, we have become so detached from this truth over thousands of years of abuse from the archons that the great majority of us are not aware of this. Because of the awareness of God by many of the people on the planet, the Demiurge had to initially create almost every single one of the world's religions today. Of course, the abrahamic religions have the most powerful stronghold over us. Just about every belief system is a trap set up by them, however. The only exceptions to this that I know of are, of course Gnosticism and perhaps Buddhism. Why trust Gnosticism? Well, it was declared heresy by the catholic church in the third century, as catholicism was asserting its world domination and killing any non-believers. Most of the Gnostic scrolls we have today were discovered in Egypt in 1945, and they are known as The Nag Hammadi, named for the town they were discovered in. They had been buried in a jar for centuries, placed there by someone who was looking out for the future of Humanity, no doubt.
The Corrupt Demiurge have a hierarchy of henchmen, here on Earth, that carry out their reign of destruction throughout Human history. I believe the actual reason for the founding fathers coming to America was to kill all the Native Americans, just as white settlers did to many tribal communities in South America, because these people knew about their connection to the one true God. They have higher ups that take the light path, such as the pope, as well as the dark path, such as many thirty-third degree masons. These people within the Demiurge hierarchy systems are rewarded by feeding off of our suffering as well as the energy of our worship and adoration - look at the energy given to people like the pope, and trump, and hollywood celebrities in the form of idolatry and worship. This, of course, is nothing compared to the false-idol leader of the Demiurge, the god of the bible himself: Yahweh aka Lucifer. The king of the false light/dark duality trap himself. (As a side note, I do believe the moon is a big part of how they create the duality paradigm. I never did like the moon...)
As above, so below refers to the Demiurge's system of patriarchal hierarchies in the abrahamic religions (above), and the patriarchal hierarchies of our governments (below). Notice arch(on) in the words patri(arch)al hier(arch)ies? As well as the (arch)angels. It's about time for some an(arch)y to take place.
What are we supposed to believe in?
We need to believe in ourselves. We need to believe that we are sovereign beings, and nobody has authority over us. We need to believe that we are more powerful than them, because we have the true source of creation within us, and they do not because they worship a false idol (Yahweh). We need to believe that the religious figures so many believe are real, but they are all the archons, and they will trick us into reincarnating here yet again. We need to not fear the government, as they try to scare us into submission with the covid pandemic. The last thing they want us to know is that we are more powerful than they are. We need to stop being distracted with the material world, as well as technology that is just more of the Demiurgic illusion.
We need to all start waking up to our true power, and cut off this parasitic group of evil beings feeding supply. Stop choosing good or evil. The church has perverted the trinity of creation. Creation is a trinity: positive, negative and NEUTRAL. Reject the notion that you are a bad or good person. If you do this you will begin to see the archons in your life, waking and sleeping. They will come to you in dreams, and many people on this planet are them in disguise. They will do anything to get you back into their trap, using angels, demons, or any other of their tricks. They will make your life miserable, but they cannot hurt you - the real you - your soul. The elite are getting ready to roll out their Saturn Black Cube religion, which I believe is hardline materialism, as it is the easiest way to trap us. That is why they have been pushing to put an end to spirituality and beliefs in a God. If enough people wake up to this, things will get REAL.
tl;dr: try reading the Nag Hammadi if you think this is long.
If you want to know more about this, please read these articles that go into much greater detail than I could ever hope to. These articles are very helpful in learning more about THE TRUTH:

2023.06.03 18:49 QuothTheRaven713 Viv claims "Helluva's more male-focused, while Hazbin's more female focused" to explain why Mille and Loona aren't developed much yet. That would be reasonable if it weren't for the fact Hazbin's pilot has very strong characterization for everyone in the cast.

Yes, I think we can reasonably assume Millie and Loona will get more development as time goes on, since we aren't even halfway through the show's run yet.
However, I can understand Viv claiming that the reason there's less development on their part because Helluva's more male-focused while Hazbin is more female-focused rings a little hollow for some—especially when Hazbin's character cast was rather balanced in terms of what we got from the pilot alone. Everyone got plenty of characterization in what little we've gotten so far.
And before anyone says "oh, it's because Angel and Alastor have a lot of stuff revealed on the wiki and the comics"—let's ignore the Wiki. Ignore the prequel comics. Ignore Addict. Ignore merch. Ignore Q&As.
Ignore everything except Hazbin's pilot.
What do we know about the major characters from the pilot alone?
Considering Viv claims Hazbin is more female-focused, let's focus on the males. If she insists Millie and Loona aren't developed because Helluva is male-focused, then surely the male characters in Hazbin's pilot are similarly underdeveloped, right?
Nope.
We know Alastor is a powerful dealmaker who's toppled overlords. He's charismatic. He's a charmer. He practices voodoo. He lived around the 1930's and was likely a radio host (yes I know he's been confirmed to be outside the pilot, but again, we get a sense of that within the pilot even though it's not explicitly stated). He doesn't believe people can attain redemption and is involved in the hotel for his own entertainment. He's manipulative, and knows how to influence others for his own ends, fixating on coercing Charlie who's more innocent, while dismissing Vaggie who's more strong-willed. The video being distorted by static when he says "I would have done so" indicates he might be able to reach beyond the 4th wall in a way a la Bill Cipher—or at the very least, indicate that he's extremely powerful in ways that make the other characters be at his mercy.
We know Angel is a flamboyant, sassy porn actor, deflecting insults with crass talk. He hits on guys with sexual comments and seems to get a kick out of their reactions. He likes causing chaos with his friend Cherri. He wants a chance at redemption but all too easily slips back into his vices, though him starting to reach out to Charlie shows he wants to change.
We know Husk has connections with Alastor, indicating they interacted at some point in the past, whether when Husk was alive or in Hell. Not only that, he's well-aware of just how powerful Alastor is, as he's the only one who looks completely deadpan at Alastor blowing up Sir Pentious's ship. He's grumpy and gruff. He's a gambler, shown in both his introduction and implied through his design. He has a weakness to drinking, even cheap booze will do. He's put off by Angel's sexual comments. He doesn't expect to find love because he feels he lost the ability to love years ago.
We know Sir Pentious wants to be taken seriously as a threat but is too goofy to be seen as such, essentially being a more steampunk-infused Dr. Doofenshmirtz. He's a skilled inventor as shown by him creating the weaponized blimp. He somehow has enough draw to have the Egg Bois follow him. He prides himself with his style. He's also familiar with Alastor, and when Alastor claims he doesn't know him, Sir Pentious tries to display his power to show just how powerful he is with his machines, even though he's clearly outclassed.
And even with Alastor and Angel being the breakout characters in the fandom, the female main characters are certainly no slouch in the character development department either. We know a lot about Charlie and Vaggie too, and some about Niffty.
Charlie is enthusiastic, bubbly, an optimist to the core. She adores expressing herself through song. She loves her girlfriend. She seeks approval from her parents but feels they're distant at best and see her as a failure at worse. She's dismayed by the injustice in her kingdom and wants to help redeem others, indicating her selflessness. She sees the good in everyone to the point she's willing to give Alastor a chance, but also is genre-savvy enough to know making a deal with someone like Al is a very bad idea.
Vaggie we know a bit less of in the pilot, but even still we know quite a lot about her. She's headstrong. Puts on a very fierce side when she feels there's a threat. Unafraid to brandish a weapon toward those she dislikes. Adores Charlie and doesn't want to see her get hurt but sometimes gets frustrated at Charlie's insistence a song can fix things. She's Latina and slips into swearing in Spanish when she gets upset. She doesn't trust men, and isn't afraid to really threaten Alastor when she feels others might get hurt.
There's a bit less to work with regarding Niffty, but even then we still get some strong characterization. She can switch between being an adorable sweetheart and a scary psychopath at the drop of a hat. She's very intent on making things look nice and orderly. She's very set in gender roles and norms to the point she thinks Ange's a woman. She has some past with Alastor and she seems to enjoy what he does, given her excited look during his reprise. Even for a character who's only on screen for about 30 seconds, we can gleam quite a bit.
We know equally about all the characters, male and female, in Hazbin's pilot alone.
Hazbin isn't even released yet, and already from the pilot alone we know more about everyone, including the male major characters of the "female focused" show, than we have for the female characters of Helluva in 11 episodes (12 if you count the pilot). Viv claims Hazbin is "female focused" and Helluva is "male focused", but in Hazbin everyone, male and female alike, has proper characterization and plenty of aspects of their personality that shine through.

2023.06.03 18:35 theagero How to be a better sister?

This will be all in English because I can communicate better than in Tagalog. This is kind of personal and I never told this to anyone. But I feel like I just had to share this somewhere, or I'll break down.
I don't know what the fuck I'm going to do with my little brother anymore.
We're 5 years apart, I'm 1999 and he's 2004. We have different fathers but we basically grew up together so we only have each other, but in 2013 we had to separate because my mom had to go abroad to work, and she doesn't want to leave me alone with my stepdad (his dad), so I moved to my aunt's house in the city, even transferred schools so I knew I was going to be there for good, and he was left with his dad.
This kind of arrangement went on for years. My stepdad would let him visit me once in awhile to catch up with things. Everytime they would knock on the gate, I would jump up and yell his name because I was just so happy to see him. He was still small and cute and so bubbly. I remember that my best days of those years away from home was his visits. And I would feel sad when it was time for them to go home, and I would tell my mom to please let me have my brother move in with me so I can take care of him. Because I knew he wasn't getting taken cared of. He was thin so I knew he wasn't eating well, and I heard that he was missing lots of his classes. But my mom said no, because he has his dad to take care of him and we can't risk my aunt's hospitality of taking me in. So, I couldn't.
I couldn't do anything but to just watch his life slowly deteriorate. With his dad not giving a fuck about his schooling, keeping all the support money that mom wires him every month for my brother to himself. It broke my fucking heart.
Until one day, I couldn't take it anymore. He was neglected. His dad would be away for days without leaving him food and he would fall asleep with his stomach growling waiting for him to come.
I got up my ass, and with the little money I had (I was in still in high school), went back to the province to get him out of there. I didn't care if my aunt's family would be pissed at me for letting him move in without their permission.
Fast forward a few years, we were both living in my aunt's house, transferred him to the our school so he can continue with his studies (he's already late by 2 years), then his dad died of pneumonia. We were both estranged from him at this point. But I was the one who took care of him at the hospital for the sake of my mom's foolish heart. After that, I noticed his personality change. He's now quiet and timid. Barely spoke.
There was a growing tension in my aunt's house as well because he was never supposed to be living with me, and I would fight back everytime they would bully him or accuse him of doing something like stealing money or food. I think my aunt's family contributed to the trauma he has now with other people. We weren't accepted there at all but we had to suck it up because we had no other place to live. We went through hell in that house. With their family ganging up on us to drive us out. I was traumatized too. I got depressed and self-harmed, and I'm not proud of it at all. But we were both dealing with it our own ways. And that was mine.
Now, I'm 24, struggling with my mental health, and don't have a stable job because of my anxiety. He's 19, still not out of high school so he's taking ALS. We're fucked up. We got out of my aunt's house though and renting our own apartment for a few years now. But to me, it seems like our relationship is progressing backwards. We're fighting a lot with chores, and his smelly laundry that he just refuses to clean up. He won't pick up after himself, that when I get home from work I have to clean the house, or wash the dishes, or clean the cats' litterboxes. He won't cook. He still hasn't finished high school, so he's taking ALS. But even he's struggling at that. He's just lazy, a slob, and doesn't seem to care about his life anymore.
The other day I got so fed up, I screamed at him to get the fuck out of this house. He didn't say a word. I think it was just all the pent up anger I had, with my issues and struggling with dealing with my depression, to dealing with him. Maybe he's depressed too. I don't know. Because we don't talk. And everytime I talk to him, it's only me snapping at him for not doing anything chores or with his life. I know it's wrong, but I don't know any other way. I grew up around people that I had to please, walk around in my tiptoes, always careful not to make a mistake because they would yell at me and call me trash and that I'm nothing. That's how I was built. I straightened myself up with those voices in my head. I didn't come out okay though.
Now I feel shitty and sorry for what I did. How do I make it up to him? And can I still solve this growing gap in our relationship without feeling awkward? I just really want him and I to be okay again because this has been weighing me down, contributing to my depression, and I guess it's like that for him too. I want my little brother back. I just want him to care about himself because I care about him. I just don't know how to show it.
TL;DR: Me and my brother went through a lot, so we're both broken in a way. I kinda neglected him to deal with my issues, and that affected him. Now, I realized how hard it must've been for him to deal with all this shit life threw at us. I'm scared that he'll be more broken than I was, I don't want that to happen. I want to make it up to him. How to be a better sister?
Advices are highly appreciated. Thank you for reading my very long post. Also please do not share this outside of the subreddit, I posted this here for a reason. Thank you so much.

2023.06.03 17:39 soberstargazer [MASKS] Inspirations for the Deck of Villainy

For those who have the Deck of Villainy, I’ve been having fun connecting the references/inspirations for the characters within. Some are obvious (to me) one-to-one expy characters, others are a bit more obscure or amalgamations of multiple characters, and still others are either entirely original creations or I just don’t get the references.
Here’s the list of ones I identified, feel free to add the ones I missed, or argue with what I’ve got, if you’ve got the deck and wanna play along:
  1. Aquaria (Namor)
  2. Brass Brilliant (Ozymandias)
  3. Iron Flag (Red Skull)
  4. Lady Faust (Morgaine le Fey)
  5. Doctor Infinity (Kang the Conqueror)
  6. Vanquish (General Zod)
  7. The Dread Queen (Dr. Doom/Queen Bee of Bialya)
  8. Seismic Prime (Red Volcano)
  9. Kalka, the Bloodhewn (Vandal Savage/Kraven the Hunter)
  10. The Blue Hydra (Doctor Octopus)
  11. Carlo the Assassin (Deadshot/Bullseye/Taskmaster)
  12. Pack Alpha (hear me out: Poison Ivy, but animals instead of plants)
  13. Centipede (early Plastic Man?)
  14. Voltaic (Ultron)
  15. Dominus (also Kang - or I need to up my knowledge of time hopping supervillains!)
  16. The Spider (the Kingpin)
  17. Rosa Rook (Lex LuthoAmanda Waller)
  18. La Espada (Catwoman/Jaime Reyes Blue Beetle)
  19. Professor Spectre (Reverse Flash/Mr. Negative)
  20. Ghostheart (Blade/Ghost Rider)
  21. Rampage (the Rhino/Juggernaut)
  22. Carbine (the Punisher)
  23. Satin (the Joker)
  24. Blood Opal (Ra’s Al Ghul)
  25. Cygnus (Livewire)
  26. Nano (Silver Samurai)
  27. Siphon (Parasite/Rogue)
  28. Troll (Control Freak— this one got pointed out by someone on the Masks Discord)
  29. Cat (Mr. Mxyzptlk/Klarion the Witch Boy)
  30. Facet (Ghost)
  31. Iconoclast (Not an inspiration obviously but want to not the similarity between Iconoclast and the Flag Smasher from the Falcon and the Winter Soldier show)
  32. Teacher (Mother from Young Avengers)
Got any others? Disagree wildly with me?

2023.06.03 15:44 autotldr Senior UAE official defends oil industry's role at UN climate summit that Gulf nation will host

This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 75%. (I'm a bot)
BERLIN - A senior United Arab Emirates official says the Gulf nation wants the U.N. climate summit it's hosting later this year to deliver "Game-changing results" for international efforts to curb global warming, but doing so will require having the fossil fuel industry at the table.
"We need to have oil and gas, we need to have industry, we need to have aviation, we need to have shipping, we need to have all the hard to abate sectors," he said, adding: "We need all those who can to deliver what they can, regardless of who they are."
Al-Suwaidi pushed back against the idea that the fossil fuel industry would undermine meaningful talks on emissions cuts the way they have done in the past through disinformation campaigns and keeping quiet their own knowledge about climate change.
The summit's designated chair al-Jaber has emphasized the need to cut emissions, rather than end fossil fuel use itself.
Al-Suwaidi, who also has a background in the oil and gas sector, said the UAE leadership is acutely aware of the existential threat global warming poses - including to their own sun-rich but water-poor nation - and is committed to shifting from fossil fuels toward renewable energy such as wind and solar.
"We need the developing world to leapfrog into this new climate system and we need to support that transition for them," said al-Suwaidi.

2023.06.03 14:28 lelouch_pak I hate Islam from the bottom of my heart.

I have a Facebook account with my old friends, family and acquaintances added from my native country, Pakistan and I don't have words to describe my emotions after going through that custom social feed.

I have heard more about a terrorist than the problems they are facing currently. Dr. Afia Siddiqui, some of you may know her, was/is a facilitator of Al-Qaeda also known as Lady Al-Qaeda, you can Google her but basically, she was/is a terrorist, an extremist who participated in terror activities such as getting funding, spreading extremist propaganda, you know the usual.

The thing is, they know she was a terrorist but for them, she is the most precious and innocent person there is and amount of posts in her support makes me mad for the upcoming reasons. Pakistan is going through economic turmoil, it's basically a hybrid regime or a dictatorship that runs on the exploited wealth of Pakistani people but you would rarely see people complaining about it on social media, they are currently praying in mosques for her release but they don't care whether they are gonna get the next meal. Second, there is another current political turmoil, it's between a political party and army and army have used heavy handed approach and killed and jailed people. Now among these jailed people, there are women, whom are roamed to be raped and mistreated on daily basis but you won't hear a thing about it from clergy because apparently these women don't deserve any support or respect because why were they on the roads, that's their rationalization.

Another aspect which bothers me on the most is Lady Al-Qaeda is not an illiterate person, she is a neuroscientist with majors in anthropology, biology and archaeology. Imagine knowing where humans come from, how the human mind works, how human biology works, and still go, hmmm... maybe that highway lunatic rubber is the true messenger of God.

Wherever Islam touches, humanity and rationality leave the human mind. Stay away from Islam.
