 | At the end of September (bottom picture), these adorable girls were found abandoned in the parking lot of the school where my wife teaches. We foster-failed over the course of a week while we waited to see if anyone claimed them. Everyone thought they were Border Collie mixes, with some large breed in them since both have rear dewclaws (one with doubles) and based on their size we assumed they were 5-6 months old when found. Took them to the vet and were told they had 15 week baby teeth. We decided to finally do DNA testing last month (top picture) to find out they were Aussie (with some miniature) and Great Pyrenees mix. No clue if that was intentional or why they were abandoned, but we love them so much and can’t wait to see how big they end up getting. the swastika, incite people to hate the Jews. And who, in order to see Jews
once again in the extermination camps, in the gas chambers, in the ovens of
Dachau and Mauthausen and Buchenwald and Bergen-Belsen et cetera, would sell
their own mother to a harem.
I find it shameful that the Catholic Church should permit a bishop, one with
lodgings in the Vatican no less, a saintly man who was found in Jerusalem
with an arsenal of arms and explosives hidden in the secret compartments of
his sacred Mercedes, to participate in that procession and plant himself in
front of a microphone to thank in the name of God the suicide bombers who
massacre the Jews in pizzerias and supermarkets. To call them "martyrs who
go to their deaths as to a party."
I find it shameful that in France, the France of Liberty-Equality-
Fraternity, they burn synagogues, terrorize Jews, profane their cemeteries.
I find it shameful that the youth of Holland and Germany and Denmark flaunt

contribute to the resurgent anti-Semitism, crying only over Palestinian

tones. I find it shameful that in their debates they host with much
deference the scoundrels with turban or kaffiah who yesterday sang hymns to
the slaughter at New York and today sing hymns to the slaughters at

I find it shameful that the press does the same, that it is indignant
because Israeli tanks surround the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, that

Pope who not long ago left in the Wailing Wall a letter of apology for the
Jews--accuses of extermination a people who were exterminated in the
millions by Christians. By Europeans.
I find it shameful that this newspaper denies to the survivors of that
people (survivors who still have numbers tattooed on their arms) the right
to react, to defend themselves, to not be exterminated again.
I find it shameful that in the name of Jesus Christ (a Jew without whom they
would all be unemployed), the priests of our parishes or Social Centers or
whatever they are flirt with the assassins of those in Jerusalem who cannot
go to eat a pizza or buy some eggs without being blown up.
I find it shameful that they are on the side of the very ones who

I’m so sick of the “that’s not bad!” Comments. I’m not usually a complainer, but when people ask about the amount of time I’ll get off after birth, I’ll say 6 weeks. I get the comment “that’s not bad!” Ummm that’s the minimum…. Then back to work full time with my full time masters program with a newborn….
Then I also hear it now, “that’s not bad!” When I say I doubled up on classes this semester (to graduate early) while navigating first time pregnancy and a new job, getting the house ready, trying to read up on everything for babies.
It is bad!!! Things absolutely suck right now!!! I’m so tired all the time. But just because I don’t talk about my struggles and burn out all the time it’s like everyone around me thinks it’s easy and life’s grand. I just want someone to acknowledge how hard I’m working and understand.

So in all my years of talking to transphobes the one thing I've realized is that they don't really know what trans people look like. They want us to use the "right" bathroom but if we actually DID they'd be uncomfortable. So I had a shower idea and y'all can let me know if you fuck with it or not.

I'm 24, in uni, and trying my best to do what I can for myself.
A few months ago, I stopped working at a job (the best job I've ever had) because they started assigning me morning shifts. I have a huge problem with sleeping, and I'm constantly feeling like I'm low on energy.
Every day, I wake up feeling extremely miserable and angry. I get so angry that I punch things, I yell to myself, and I cry in frustration of how awful everything feels to me. I just can't shake it out of my head.
In these moments after I wake up, everything on my skin feels oily and disgusting, even if I got a shower the night before, and I don't dare to touch my hair because of how dirty it can feel. Aside from feeling dirty, I also feel extremely drowsy and nauseous. I don't eat in the mornings because, if I even drink a tiny bit of water, it makes me feel like I'm going to throw up. Because of this, I rarely eat or drink until the afternoon when I feel a little bit better, or until the hunger outweighs this awful feeling.
Because I've had to get up for uni, I've been taking melatonin supplements to experiment (I will often toss and turn endlessly without them, but sometimes they don't do anything for me). Some days I feel kind of alright, but most of the time I still feel awful. I've experimented around with different hours of sleep to see if I was sleeping too much or too little, but this has come up pretty inconclusive.
At 24, the recommended hours is around 7-9... but 7 hours, 8 hours, and 9 hours of sleep all make me feel the same way - awful, drowsy, nauseous, dirty, and exhausted. The only way I feel "well rested" is if I go back to sleep for a few extra hours and wake up then. This makes it at around 11 AM, regardless of what time I fell asleep at.
I don't eat at night, I don't drink any caffeine or do any drugs. I never have dreams, and I often wake up in the middle of the night (sometimes because of sleep paralysis). Even in my youth, I slept a ton at my grandparent's house. I would go on their couch and just sleep, which raised concerns with my family that I had trouble sleeping, but nothing ever came of that.
It's taking a major toll on me. I don't have any energy throughout the day. My mornings consist of me being a mindless robot that wanders around.
I tried going to the gym with my friend, and we went a fair few times, but even going at 9 AM was too much for me. After our workouts, I would feel violently sick in the car ride back.
It's also having an impact on my memory, I feel. Throughout the day, I have major trouble retaining information and remembering things... I'm having trouble keeping up with my hobbies (drawing and guitar) and I often let them go unpracticed for weeks on end.
Even if I have free time, I just don't touch those things. I feel too tired by the time I come home, even though I was tired all day already.
I'm also not as outgoing as I used to be. When I was working that job I mentioned earlier, I was so up front with people and kind-hearted. Nowadays, I feel secluded, invisible. When I eat my lunch at uni, I look around to see if anyone is staring at me. I feel like I'm constantly on the spot, like eating alone is weird. I never feel comfortable in public anymore. I always feel like I'm on a stage.
I don't talk to people or do what I want to do. I always daydream of a person I'd rather be. There was a woman who was struggling to set up a stroller with her baby in one of her arms, and I just glanced the other way. I feel like if it were truly up to me, I would have helped, but I also feel like she would have thought I was weird. I feel like everyone thinks I am weird, like everything I say, and how I say it, is so weird. At uni, I just feel like a loser.
If it were up to me, I'd like to get 8 hours of sleep and wake up feeling well rested, get to school with a good attitude, remember what was taught to me, talk to people in public, do the things I want to do, and be proud of myself. I'd come home to practice my hobbies daily, work out consistently, and fall asleep for the next day. But... I am just unable to do that.
Right now, I'm always feeling tired (not eating breakfast as a result), I'm never working out, my hobbies just keep getting further and further out of reach, I forget things that happened even if they just happened hours earlier, and I act like I am invisible in public, but at the same time... like I am on a stage. My life is just a blur passing me by, and I dread every day that I have to leave my room. It's damn near forced me to make some stupid decisions.
These things; my sleep, my hobbies, my sensitivity (emotional and physical, with disgusted feelings), my memory... they're all things that make me regret so much. They're things that make me constantly daydream about a better life.
I don't know where to even begin.

Earlier this evening a young man came to my door asking if we could give a ride home for him, his partner and baby. They were waiting across the street and had a stroller as well as some groceries. He mentioned that the next bus wouldn't be for about an hour and that no taxis would come because of the stroller and said he could pay for gas, told me his address which is about a 20 minute drive.
I expressed I wasn't comfortable doing that, apologized, and checked my bus app which showed a bus coming in 3 minutes, told him that the bus was due and he left. They didn't end up getting on the bus, I later found out that bus is one of two routes at that stop and that only goes to a local grocery store along the route. If they took it they'd still have to wait 30 mins for the next bus that goes to where he told me they lived.
I feel really bad because they didn't look dressed for the weather, (~-10°C) and it was beginning to get dark. I feel like this could make mta because they now have to wait about 40 minutes with their baby in the cold for a bus to get home. But also I couldn't see if there was actually a baby, and they are total strangers to me so for all I know it could have been a way to get access to my vehicle or house (extremely unlikely but not totally unheard of in my city). I don't often Uber or Taxi but I also wasn't sure why they wouldn't be able to fold up the stroller to take one?

 | Ever since September when I threw in with my first suppressor I figured I should record what I was seeing in the monthly megathread posts as a way to help keep my sanity. At that time the 90 day approvals were taking about 200 days and I wanted to see how well it would stick to 200 days. I know that Mr. Quadrail has some really great data from everyone's input here but with the addition of the control numbers in October I think I've got some great data here to show to you. submitted by Qesium to NFA [link] [comments] There’s a few nuances with what I’ve observed but there’s not much more of a conclusion to be made than saying “waiting for an approval can result in you eventually getting an approval” and that best case scenario approval times is trending towards 300 days, give or take a month. So to go over what my three plots I'm showing here: Plot A:Max and min reported - The latest approval dates of that week and the oldest of the week (ignoring extreme outliers like 2 day PCS approvals). About 5 weeks after I certified, the soonest approvals started venturing off the 200 day approval time and have settled closer to 300. Control Number Projection - This straight line pulls from Plot B to show where my predicted approval date lines up.Plot B:Each week I take the highest control number I see and plot them all from week to week. The "control number difference" is simply saying it's the difference between the highest number of that week and my control number. When that difference eventually reaches zero that means it's game time. My excel spreadsheet solves for when it reaches zero and the number of weeks it takes to get there becomes my projected approval date in Plot A. Right now, September 2022 approvals should start showing up in the beginning of June.Plot C:Week to week control number difference - I made this one on a whim but essential shows how much volume Santa's little helpers are going through for a given week.I have no idea what goes into control number assignment if two people submit a form one right after another but the thing to note here is before Christmas last year they were chipping off control numbers about 10000 at a time per week. After Christmas based on control numbers it seems they're doubling their output on approvals, although Plot A doesn't really seem to show that with dates. This could be due to there being much more eforms that had to get processed for March and April compared to May, June and July. Plus there was whole the February/March fiasco that happened before too. Overall, looks like eforms are settling at just under the 300 day mark. - [META] More thoughts on MPI buy-in to SPNEC... As many could tell from my writeup yesterday, I have some misgivings about Metro Pacific [MPI 3.85 ▲0.8%] buying a stake in SP New Energy [SPNEC 1.77 ▲1.7%]. A few Barkadans wrote in privately to ask some follow-ups, so I thought that I’d share a bit more of my thinking here.
- I get it: First, I can see the reasons why MPI is doing what it is doing; renewables are a growth industry with the kind of government and international interest that doesn’t often combine in the infrastructure space. Infra is almost never sexy, but in this case, building solar and wind farms kind of is, and it’s projected to be naughty and hot for many years to come. SPNEC, as a target, has some great land assets that are shovel-ready, meaning that they’re either fully-permitted or nearing that status. SPNEC has already done a lot of the heavy political and administrative lifting. That’s attractive to investors. I also see how by merely getting involved, MPI provides a layer of experience and sophistication that “upgrades” the profile of SPNEC for foreign investors.
- But, still...: I was very excited about MPI’s pivot into the agri-business space, at first because it was a big bet in a critical industry that ordinarily doesn’t attract the type of coordinated, sophisticated attention that can come from a massive conglomerate like MPI. Sure, we see Aboitiz Equity Ventures [AEV 51.50 ▲3.0%] dipping its feet in the water with trial runs of reefer trucks in the province, but that’s a low-risk, low-impact kind of move. It’s good as a project, and something that needs to be done, but AEV’s skin in the game is miniscule. It could fail and we’d never have to hear about it again. Then, I was excited about the pivot because it represented something of an opportunity for value growth for MPI, which has become a stale, loose mixture of mature businesses that have so underwhelmed the market that the owners considered taking it off the market to pocket the price differential. Jumping into a bold agri-business bet, with marching orders to acquire cold storages and other logistics pillars of such a huge bet, seemed like a powerful push in the right direction. Both for the country, and for MPI.
- Multi-tasking: The rebuttal to my feelings is that MPI is a sophisticated company with the resources to focus on multiple things at once, and I concede that this could be true. Though, it doesn’t stop me from being disappointed that MPI isn’t more focused on the incredible change that it could make by pushing its capital and know-how into a logistics/agri-business revolution. The assets are there for the taking, and the conglomerate with the will to pull them together will instantly be in a position to run the show. I was hoping that it would be MPI because of its ambitious agri-business bet.
- MB BOTTOM-LINE: This touches on some parts of my thesis, and that is somewhat particular to my investing strategy and my criteria for investment. My commentary on MPI x SPNEC is colored by that lens. If I were a short-term price action trader, I’d probably love the announcement and forget about it the next day as the volume dried up. If I were a swing-trader, I’d probably love the news for the chance to push SPNEC into new territory and get some life out of MPI. If I were a SPNEC bagholder, I’d jump at any chance to spread risk across as many capable conglos as possible. But I’m not those things, so I honestly don’t care too much about what the announcements do to the volumes of the stocks being traded or how the short-term price movements alter the risk/reward matrix for potential breakouts. So, I understand (to the best of my ability, and the best of the information available) why both parties would do the deal, but it disappoints me to see MPI take its eye off the ball of what I consider to be the more critical and potentially game-changing play, both from a societal perspective and a potential shareholder perspective.
- [NOTES] Quick takes from around the market...
- Puregold [PGOLD 4.33 unch] [link] teases FY22 net income of ₱9.3 billion, up 13.5% y/y, on continuing consumer “momentum” which PGOLD attributes to “low unemployment, minimum wage hikes, robust OFW (overseas Filipino worker) remittances, and 100-percent resumption of face-to-face classes”. PGOLD noted 6.6% same store sales growth, which led to a 12.3% increase in consolidated net sales to ₱184.3 billion. PGOLD said that this was the 5th consecutive year of record earnings.
- MB Quick Take: I might not love Lucio Co’s treatment of his shareholders, but I can’t argue with the performance of his companies. Yet, while PGOLD might be rocking its 5th straight year of record earnings, it’s hard to see that reflected in its stock price. Shareholders are likely wondering why the overall trend seems to be down down down. This time in 2018, PGOLD was trading for ₱52.50/share. A year later, it was ₱48/share. Then ₱39 in 2020. Then ₱38 in 2021.₱35 in 2022. Today, it’s trading at ₱33/share, down 37% through those 5 years of record earnings.
- Citicore Energy REIT [CREIT 2.51 ▲0.8%] [link] FY22 net income of ₱1.25 billion, up 443% y/y. CREIT projected a 7.0% dividend yield based on its IPO price of ₱2.55/share, but it actually exceeded that projection a little by delivering a 7.1% yield. The company received approximately double the income that it expected from its variable leases.
- MB Quick Take: This is a case where the headline doesn’t tell the story. CREIT’s FY21 net income was earned using an entirely different business model; about the only thing you can conclude by comparing these numbers is that it was probably a good idea to flip CREIT into a REIT and inject all those properties and assign CREIT all those leases. This isn’t a case where CREIT squeezed more profit out of the same system. The key comparison will be FY22 with FY23. None of that should take away from what was a great year for CREIT. It delivered on its REIT Plan projections, and even exceeded them in some cases.
- Ayala Land [ALI 28.90 ▲1.6%] [link] executed a block sale of 205 million shares of AREIT [AREIT 32.30 ▼5.8%] at ₱32.10/share to raise a total of ₱6.6 billion. ALI did not name any of the buyers of the shares. ALI said that this transaction is related to its ₱22.5 billion property-for-shares swap with AREIT, but did not elaborate on that point. The ₱32.10/share price was at a 6.4% discount to the previous day’s closing price of ₱34.30/share.
- MB Quick Take: I don’t know specifically, but I think ALI needs to sell AREIT shares in order to get enough shares out into the public float to avoid AREIT getting suspended after the property-for-shares swap completes and AREIT issues ALI a huge batch of new shares. According to the REIT Law, REITs need to maintain at least 33.3% public ownership level, which is considerably higher than the 20% required of other companies on the exchange.
- Alternergy [ALTER 1.22 ▲2.5%] [link] provided its first stabilization report, covering only its first day of trading. BDO Capital, ALTER’s stabilization agent, reported buying 10 million ALTER shares at ₱1.22/share on ALTER’s IPO day, March 24. BDO Capital has a stabilization budget of 115 million shares, so after last week, the fund was 9% depleted.
- MB Quick Take: The volume on ALTER’s first day was actually 158 million shares, so the stab fund accounted for only about 6% of that total. BDO Cap did well to conserve dry powder for future battles, but since the stock has not traded above its IPO offer price for any significant period of time, it will be interesting to see how much of that powder remains dry by the end of this week. I estimate that they’ll have “spent” around 20 to 22 million of their 115 million share quota by the end of business on Friday.

I'm 21, two weeks from shipping with a SO contract, and unsure what to do.
I’ve always been realistic about the odds of becoming a seal and have come to terms with the fact that over 80% of people don’t make it through selection, and it just may not work out for me, but that isn’t stopping me from giving it everything I have and will kill if I need too to get through buds. I’ve been training for a few years and am in great shape. I genuinely believe I have a chance.
This is my second time contracting for SO. The first time I contracted, I didn't want it. I told my spec war coordinator that I wanted to be in DEP for a while to work out for a few months, focus on what I needed to improve on, and then contract when I was good to go. My recruiter reassured me this was a good plan, and I could do this for upwards of a year. So did my coordinator. However, the first time I did a PST, I guess candidates were weak in that current draft, and I contracted with numbers that I wasn’t even impressed with. I was disappointed, to say the least, mentally and physically; I just wasn’t there yet. So I dropped out of DEP and then got back in right away to lose the contract, and my recruiter was more than understanding of this decision; however, every spec war guy in my area was not as understanding, and I was on the phone with several dudes who were chewing my ass out calling me immature and weak for not going even though I was fit enough to pass the PST (anyone who does even a little research knows passing the PST is the least important part of getting ready for buds)
However, for the past couple of months, I have been in a silent battle with depression. I’ve been contracted again for a month and have a ship date of April 12th. Physically, I feel ready to put it all on the line. But mentally, I feel like I just want to break down and cry. I have a lot of stress and shit happening in my life, and it feels like I have no support or love. I have been alone through this entire journey, and soon I’ll be even more alone and will have to hold myself to some exceptionally high standards. Even though I am fit, with a resting heart rate of 50, I have horrible self-image issues. I mean, for years now, I have been comparing myself to Navy Seals. So I'm not surprised that I keep beating myself up for not being faster and stronger. I also keep getting told I have a baby face, which also really messes with me because I feel like if it came down to it, id get beat more for looking younger and weaker. I keep reading about how the Navy (military in general) does not care about mental health, and in the spec war community, it is even worse. If I don’t make it through buds, yeah, I’ll be sad and disappointed for a bit, but I’ll get over the fact I failed. However, I don’t know if I can mentally survive being a depressed paint chipper who could potentially be in a bad command and get shit on for being a buds dud for the next six years. Don’t get me wrong; I understand what I’m getting myself into; if I become a paint chipper, I’ll be the best goddamn paint chipper in the fleet, but it’ll never come close to what I joined the Navy for.
But today, I did my 14-day PST and failed. I autoqualed everything but the run; I currently have bronchitis, and it was incredibly hard trying to push through it. It felt like someone was choking me the whole time, and I was gasping for air by the 2nd lap.; we had to do eight laps. I was too slow and failed. But I didn't care that I failed; that wasn’t even the worst part; the worst part was the mental beating I gave myself the entire time. During the run, I kept telling myself to stop, and tell my spec war coordinator that I was sick, going through some shit, and couldn’t run anymore. I kept thinking about how I just wanted to stop and call my recruiter and tell her that I was worried about going to boot camp because I didn’t know if I’ll mentally have it in me to make it through it without sending myself into some serious mental health problems. But just thinking about doing all that, I knew that would’ve been a horrible idea and would have looked terrible on me, so I pushed through it. I almost threw up; this has never happened to me on a run, let alone a mile half, but I slowly jogged my ass through the last lap. The disappointment on my coordinator's face as I slowly jogged myself into failing my two-week PST was a little bothersome. However, I knew from the moment I woke up this morning that I was set up for a bad time. I woke up incredibly sad; I had no desire to PST but sucked it up because it was just something I had to do. The entire drive to the base, nothing but dreaded thoughts to myself. Getting in the water to do the swim, I could feel the mucus in my lungs; we were all asked if we were sick; I said no because, honestly, who cares if I’m sick? Buds is known for much worse. The entire swim, I just had these mental beatings “you’re so slow; you could’ve trained more to prepare for this; you’re struggling to do ten laps; good luck doing miles in the ocean.” I almost stopped swimming. It's one thing when people say this shit to you, you can just brush it off and say whatever man,they don't know what I'm capable of doing. But when it's coming from yourself, it's like my mind is working against me. I have never quit anything in my life before, and I have done some intense shit that has physically and mentally clearly separated me from other people. I know I can be unstoppable if I want to be. But this swim. It was almost too much. But I auto qualed the swim, Pushups, Sit-ups, and Pull-ups.
My last day of work is the 31st; I get my wisdom teeth out on the 7th, and then off to boot camp, where I know I’ll easily succeed (I went to a military college for a couple of years and did NROTC, I also did NJROTC in HS). My biggest worry is that if I do come clean about my depression and I tell my recruiter and spec war coordinator, not only will I lose my contract, but I’ll lose the opportunity ever to try again. This would be the second time I would have dropped a seal contract. There's no chance that doesn't make me look like a bitch in the eyes of the spec war community. I've put a lot of hard work and time into trying to become a seal. And I have already prepared everything for me leaving. Things are packed up, some people have been said goodbye too. I genuinely don’t know what to do.
