My mom (70 y.o. widow) decided to sell her car to a neighbor. The buyer shorted her $1000 on the $3500 sale and didn’t remove the plates. We have received word that he is driving the car to California to “start over.”
I am pushing her to file a police report, for the $1000, but more importantly to cover her ass incase something illegal is done with the car. Is this the correct route of things?
She lives in Cook county, in a south suburb outside Chicago Illinois.

My review of sanctuary and its offerings that I selected. is a soild 5/10. for the price it's hard to justify hopefully they will keep up good sales and improve thier products. didn't have any live concentrates or rosin at the time of my vist for me to try was told by the tender that they are coming soon. All in all if its on a good sale take the gamble hopefully you get a good batch.
Sanctuary: Beach Budz top cut whole flower indica first impressions 6/10
Nose: kinda muted kinda green smelling nothing to write home about. After breaking it down it brightened up a bit some citrus a bit of funk but kinda underwhelming.
Looks: first thing i noticeed is some tight bud structures and a nice dusting of trichromes some orange hairs peaking out.
Flavor: harsh right off the 1st bowl then it leads to a somewhat creamy kinda gasy exhale but -between coughing I can taste maybe some fruit but very harsh.
High/legs: after forcing myself to finish the bowl i had a decent head buzz and my body was beginning to feel less tense and a tiny bit buzzy. legs could longer lasted about 45 minutes before i started to feel the head high start to wear off. Overall: 3/10 wouldn't buy again.
Sanctuary: Blueberry headband top cut whole flower hybrid first impressions 5/10
Nose:upon opening the jar its not very bright very muted smell, some slight hints of berry and haze but muted. When I ground it up definitely took on more of a nose very bright tart Blueberry with a skunky haze undertones.
Looks: same tight bud structure as the beach budz my eighth was 2 nugs one huge one coming in at 3.34grams and one tiny nug to complete the eighth. buds are very dense and tight with a rich green color some orange hairs peaking through with less trichromes than the beach budz
Flavor: berry sweetness upfront with a nice hazey finish not as harsh as the beach budz but still not the smoothest
High/legs: nice head high with that classic headband feel, focused and not too floaty. Could've fooled me for Lt.Dan, high was as long as the grass in a HOA neighborhood.
Overall: 4/10 Flavor was the only thing saving this one.
Sanctuary: Extraterrestrial Bananas top cut whole flower hybrid first impressions 6/10
Nose: smells of unripe green bananas and hay/ grass (earthy?) Gets alot more funky and fruity when ground up not nearly as much grass smell when ground.
Looks: a thick coating of orange hairs with dark green patches coming through with a light frosting of trichromes tight dense bud structure.
Flavor: very muted no green banana comes through sadly some musty funkiness but nothing wild in terms of fruit not as harsh as the beach budz but still not the smoothest.
High/legs: nice head change after a rip that moves down in a heaviness in my chest then arms and legs with a calm euphoria rounding out the experience this one had the longest legs of the three but still not what i was expecting for a $60 eighth of thier "top shelf" flower lasted maybe an hour if that.
Overall: 5/10 if i could grab this on a crazy sale i would but seems the ticket is too high on this in my personal opinion.
Afterthoughts: if asking questions about products and wanting suggestions is something you're interested in they did not have any recommendations for me when I was shopping kept saying the sale items are good and seemed to forget it was my 1st visit multiple times throughout the interaction my entire experience in sanctuary too roughly 30 mins from getting a profile built to asking about terp %s and suggestions there was no one ahead of me in line but there was a line forming shortly after I arrived.

Hello, I am new to this sub but wanted to get a groomers opinion. I have a 7 year old, long haired German Shepherd. He’s got a double coat and sheds constantly, which doesn’t bother me. Just comes with having the breed. Well I found a rake brush on sale and decided to try it out and see if it did a better job than my usual brush I use on him. To my surprise it did wonderfully….or so I thought. It was grabbing so much hair and I felt like I was actually making a dent with his fur and felt he was shedding less. I started brushing him daily, I know that sounds awful but with summer coming up I wanted to get ahead of his grooming. I’m pretty sure I’ve over brushed him. I noticed his hair on his back has gotten very thin and he’s been biting/scratching a lot. I also read recently that a rake brush isn’t good for doubled coated dogs? Idk I feel horrible. We’ve had several vet trips in the past few months with a cancer scare and dealing with his hip issues. I’m just wondering if maybe it took too much fur off and caused him to be too exposed to the sunshine? He’s inside when I’m home and outside of the weather is nice during the day. He has two siblings that have been fine but they both have short fur. They have plenty of shelter and water while outside. Sorry if this is long and rambling just trying to figure out if I need to toss the brush. Thank you in advance!

When liners met disaster (cough, Titanic, cough) anyone on them who was well-known was guaranteed a lot of publicity, although it likely didn't help your image or career much if you were dead.
When it was the only way to travel, the famous travelled on liners all the time, but didn't need to succumb to hypothermia or some other gruesome cause just to get their names in the papers. The press was usually there when liners (at least the most luxurious ones) departed or arrived to document the comings and goings of the rich and famous, proving that paparazzi are not a modern invention. Newspapers would list all the first class passengers arriving.
Sometimes public figures might take one of the lesser-known ships, maybe even to avoid the public eye. And of course some liners transported people who later became famous, but who got clean away with it because nobody knew who they were yet.
Wikipedia articles on liners are an interesting source for trivia like this. Someone who has taken the trouble to research and write a good article and has interest in a ship, or a line, will sometimes uncover some interesting factoid, and boom, thanks to the miracle of the internet, there it is for all to read. The articles on the legendary superliners contain lots of information about who in the Who's Who travelled on them, and when. And of course the story of Charles Dickens' utter disenchantment with Cunard's Britannia is now the stuff of legend. That's the low hanging fruit in the orchard.
What cases of the famous (or would-later-be-famous) travelling on specific ships that might not even be known of today (outside the liner enthusiast community) are you aware of? Here are a few I found:
Winston Churchill when a twenty-year-old junior officer, travelled to and from America on Cunard's Etruria in 1895 en route to Cuba to observe the locals' fight to free themselves from Spanish rule.
Mark Twain travelled from Australia to Ceylon (modern day Sri Lanka) on P&O's Oceana in 1895.
King George V and Queen Mary, while still the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall, used Orient Line's Ophir as a royal yacht for a tour of the British Empire in 1901 (the centrepiece of which was their attendance at the opening of Australia's first federal parliament in Melbourne). The tour lasted from February to November.
Douglas Fairbanks, Sr. and Mary Pickford (possibly the first Hollywood "power couple") travelled on Red Star Line's Lapland on their European honeymoon in 1920. They might have preferred one of the big first-class liners, but at the time Mauretania, Aquitania, and Olympic were probably all undergoing postwar refits and if you wanted to travel, you had to take what was going. Fairbanks would also later travel on Belgenland.
Isaac Asimov (at the age of three, before he became Sir Isaac) immigrated to the United States with his family on RMS Baltic in 1923.
Albert Einstein liked Red Star ships, travelling on Lapland and Belgenland (possibly because Antwerp was closer to where he worked and lived in Stuttgart than Hamburg or Bremen was). He also travelled to New York on Holland America's Rotterdam in 1921, to attend a World Zionist Organization conference. He was returning to Europe on Belgenland in 1933 when he received word of the ascension to power of the Nazi Party in Germany, and instead of returning to his home (which had already been seized), he went to London from Antwerp to seek refuge.
Eleanor Roosevelt with two of her sons and some friends returned from Europe on Belgenland in 1929. Her husband, then Governor of New York State, met the ship with a motorcycle escort.
The Prince of Wales, the future King Edward VIII, crossed the Atlantic on Berengaria for a mostly unofficial visit to the US and Canada in the mid-1920s, and returned on Olympic (this is from The Only Way to Cross, by John Maxtone-Graham). HR also used Canadian Pacific ships (notably Empress of Australia) for visits to his Canadian property as well.
King George VI and Queen Elizabeth travelled to Canada on Empress of Australia for the 1939 Royal Tour of Canada, also making an official visit to the United States, and returned on Empress of Britain.
Eddie van Halen emigrated to America with his family as a boy on Holland America Line's Rijndam.
George Bernard Shaw travelled extensively, and treated himself and his wife to a round-the-world cruise on Canadian Pacific's Empress of Britain in the early December 1932-April 1933, and New Zealand the following year, often working on his writing during long voyages.
Henry Ford made a voyage to Europe on Majestic in 1928, although as a teetotaler he probably would have been just as happy on Leviathan.
Grace Kelly travelled on the Constitution when she travelled from New York to Monaco for her marriage to Prince Rainier in 1956.
Former President Harry S Truman and his wife, Bess, travelled on the Constitution returning from a European trip in 1958.

I'm thinking about purchasing the Sole F80 2023 model that is currently on sale at Dick's Sporting Goods. Before I purchase it, I have a few questions that I'm hoping someone could answer for me.

Does anyone on here have the Sole F80 2023 model that is sold at Dick's Sporting Goods? If so, have you experienced any problems with it? All of the negative reviews on the Dick's Sporting Goods site scare me but I'm not sure if these negative reviews are for the 2023 model or an older model.
How can I tell if the outlet in our spare bedroom can handle the amperage of the 3.5 HP motor on this treadmill? We won't be running on this treadmill since my husband and I both have bad knees, but I worry that that there might be issues with the outlet in this room since our home is 28 years old.
Since our spare bedroom has hardwood floors and there is a gas furnace in the crawl space underneath this room, should we purchase a mat to go underneath it to protect our floor from vibrations or would it be better to purchase floorguard squares that can be connected together since they are thicker? If a mat is preferable, does anyone have any suggestions on which one to buy?
Does anyone have any experience with Sole customer service when you had an issue with your treadmill? If so, were your questions answered to your satisfaction and did they send parts or a service person to your home in a timely manner?
If my husband and I won't be running on this treadmill and we both don't weigh over 200 pounds, is it worth $300 more for the F80, or should be save our money and purchase the Sole F63 or Horizon 7.0 instead? I don't mind paying $300 more for the Sole F80 if it could potentially last longer or be more reliable.
