Rules for the Sterling Void: The Valley of Gods and Monsters
You need a change. You need some excitement. Your life feels like it’s been mis-sold to you. Damaged goods that you’re desperate to return, but sadly, you were born out of warranty. You hate your job. You hate your home. You don’t have any family or friends that you feel you can connect to. Student loans, mortgages, bills overdue. You left your dreams to gather dust and crumble like some ancient artifacts in a museum’s stock room. When did it all go so wrong? Nothing has turned out the way you hoped it would when you were a kid. It’s all just been a series of compounding mistakes. Why did nobody tell you that, after a certain point life just seems to get worse and worse? It’s not that you want to die. No, that isn’t it at all. You want another throw of the dice. You want to start again, at a different place, in a different time. You want to go somewhere where you can begin anew, with a completely clean slate. That’s when you first hear about the Sterling Void: The Valley of Gods and Monsters.
A mysterious valley that was said to be home to powerful gods and terrifying monsters. Despite the warnings of the locals, you just cannot resist the allure of the unknown and decided to seek out the valley. After many days of arduous travel through rugged terrain, you finally find yourself at the entrance to the valley. There, you see a sign with a seemingly otherworldly language that makes you uneasy and a lectern with a blue scroll on top of it, a sense of dread washes over you and, just as you take a step forward, it hits you, literally, a note hits you in the face, it contains a set of petrifying rules, but your curiosity gets the better of you. You take a deep breath and step into the valley, fully unaware of the horrors that await you. As you walk further into the valley, the you begin to notice strange things. The colours of the plants and rocks seem to shift and change, and the sky above you is a deep shade of purple. You hear whispers in your ear, but when you turn around, no one’s there. Suddenly, you feel a tug at your feet and look down to see tendrils of mist wrapping around your ankles, pulling you down.
You tried to fight it, but it’s no use. You are dragged down into the mist, and when you finally emerge, you find yourself in a completely different world. The sky is a shade of silver, and the ground beneath you is made of shimmering white crystals. The air is thick with the scent of burning incense and the sense of unbelievable petrifying dread, and you can hear chanting in the distance. This is the Sterling Void, explorer and the you are now trapped there, but you wanted this and you are to blame. You knew that you had to follow the rules if they wanted to survive in this strange and dangerous place. And so, begins your journey through the Valley of Gods and Monsters, where you might face unimaginable horrors yet discover incredible secrets that may change your life forever.
Take a deep breath, adventurer, and savor the scents of burning incense and warm air. Listen closely to the wyverns chirping, inviting you to join them in eternal flight. But beware the staring imps, giants, ogres and griffins, ready to pounce at any moment. An insolent stare and you’ll be in their grasp, a glob of flesh. Remember the note you found, its warning ringing in your mind: 'Follow the rules or perish.' You shudder at the thought, but you're determined to make it through the Valley alive. You pull out the crumpled note as a reminder and steel yourself for the journey ahead. It reads the following -
Rule #1: Do not look at the gods or monsters, some of them are incomprehensible to humans in their "natural form" and, their mere presence can drive a person insane. Although it's not the case for all of them, it's better to be safe than sorry.
Rule #2: Make as little noise as possible. The gods and monsters can hear even the slightest sound and, if you're too obnoxious or noisy, you might be stripped of your soul.
Rule #3: Do not touch or disturb any objects that appear out of place, as they may be cursed or possessed by malevolent entities. These objects may include ancient artifacts, unusual stones, or unusual markings on the ground. If you encounter such objects, it is best to avoid them altogether and move on. Attempting to interact with them or take them may lead to disastrous consequences, such as being possessed by a vengeful spirit or cursed with a never-ending torment. Always exercise caution and respect for the supernatural forces that inhabit the Sterling Void. The objects in the valley can bring forth unspeakable horrors.
Rule #4: Only eat fruits and vegetables, as they are provided abundantly by the plants. Do not harm any animals unless they attack you first, as they are protected by divine grace. However, if the elementals or gods provide you with meat, you may eat it. It is important to follow the rules of supernatural hospitality and show gratitude for their generosity. Breaking this rule will result in severe consequences and you will forfeit the right to your soul and flesh, as it is a sign of disrespect towards the beings that have granted you protection and shelter. Remember, survival is possible without meat, but it is impossible without the protection of the elementals and gods.
Rule #5: Do not breathe in the mist. The mist in the valley can cause hallucinations and distort your perception of reality, making it dangerous to navigate. Cover your nose and mouth with a cloth if you must pass through it.
Rule #6: Do not touch the water unless it is orange in color. The water in the valley is cursed, and those who drink from it will suffer a fate worse than death. If you must drink, only drink from the "gilded water" that is orange in color and has regenerative properties.
Rule #7: Do not make eye contact with the statues. The statues in the valley are cursed, and those who look into their eyes will be trapped in a never-ending nightmare.
Rule #8: Do not trust your senses entirely. The valley can play tricks on your mind, and what you perceive may not always be real. Always verify your surroundings before making decisions.
Rule #9: Do not speak to anyone or anything that could possibly be a malevolent creature. The valley is home to creatures that can mimic human voices, and their intentions are often malevolent. Be cautious and discerning in your interactions .
Rule #10: Do not attempt to leave the valley without proper preparation. The gods and monsters that reside within the valley will make it difficult to leave.
Rule #11: Try to minimize use of light especially if you're out in the open. The creatures in the valley hate it and, and may hunt those who use it.
Rule #12: Do not disrupt the natural order of the valley. The curse that plagues the valley is delicate and easily disrupted. Avoid stepping on any cracks or disturbing the natural environment. Those who break the natural order will suffer dire consequences.
Rule #13: Do not open any doors unless you know where they lead. Some doors in the valley lead to places best left unexplored. If you do not know where a door leads, do not open it.
Rule #14: Do not climb any trees unless it is necessary. The trees in the valley are alive and may trap you if you climb them. Only climb if it is necessary for your survival.
Rule #15: Do not use any technology unless it is absolutely necessary. The valley is a place of ancient magic, and technology may anger the gods and monsters that reside within it. Use technology sparingly and only when it is necessary for your survival.
Rule #16: Do not pick any flowers unless they're orange, pink or red. Most flowers in the valley are cursed, and those who touch them will suffer a fate worse than death.
Rule #17: Do not enter any caves. The caves in the valley are home to creatures best left undiscovered.
Rule #18: Do not follow any "weird" sounds. The sounds in the valley are often a trap set by the creatures that inhabit it.
Rule #19: Should you spot an Inn with a sign or a placard reads "The Guardian's Grin" on the road-side, you’re in luck! You’ve found a traveller’s haven. Feel free to spend as much time as you want here and even stock up on supplies and, if you have need something, feel free to ask the staff for help. However, try not to be a nuisance and, don't overstay your welcome if you turn out to be a nuisance, the owner doesn't take kindly to those who abuse his hospitality. If you make a mess or, are a nuisance, don't stay for more than a day. And, in case you're wondering, none of the inhabitants of the inn are human no matter how human they look or, act.
Rule #20: Do not stay in one place for too long. This makes you an easier target for the creatures in the valley. Always be on the move, and do not linger in any one place for too long.
Rule #21: Do not attempt to communicate with the gods or monsters unless you have a concrete reason to or you really think you need to. They do not like pointless chatter, and attempting to communicate with them without any concrete reason so will only anger them.
Rule #22: Do not walk in predictable patterns. This can draw unwanted attention from the creatures in the valley. Vary your movements and be unpredictable.
Rule #23: Do not look at the sky, the sky looks like it’s made of silver alloys and, it is utterly incomprehensible to humans because of how “perfect” it is. And, can drive them insane, it is called the “sterling void” for a reason
Rule #24: If you see wooden signs or, milestones, do not read them or look at them for too long, they are memetic hazards.
Rule #25: If you hear screams of help, don't answer them. Don't move, you can't run or hide. Simply pray for salvation for heaven's divine grace. Only move when help comes, you'll know when help comes.
Rule #26: If you see an animal that has gone extinct in your universe, don't fret. It's neutral. It won't attack you unless you attack it.
Rule #27: If you see a loved one or, an object that you cherished but, lost, you are in a different plane of reality. The beings in this reality will try to convince you that you are home, and that everything is back to normal. They will try to keep you there, so be careful not to let your guard down. If you stay too long, you may forget who you really are and become trapped in this false reality forever. Keep in mind that even though the beings in this reality may look like your loved ones or your cherished objects, they are not the same entities and cannot be trusted. Stay alert and focused on finding a way back to your own reality. Look for blue-colored entrances and, exits for they are the only way out.
Rule #28: If you find scrolls, pick them up, they're going to be useful. Unless they're black in which case, they're best avoided as they're memetic hazards.
And just as you put the note back in your pocket, you remember the blue scroll, you take it out. It reads "The Nameless One is a fearsome creature that roams the deepest and darkest corners of the Valley of Gods and Monsters. Its origins are shrouded in mystery, and its true name is lost to the ages, but one thing is certain: it is a force to be reckoned with. Towering over its prey, the Nameless One is covered in an impenetrable layer of obsidian armor, and wields a massive hammer that can crush even the strongest of warriors. Its eyes glow with an otherworldly light, and its roar can shatter the very ground beneath your feet. Few have dared to face the Nameless One and lived to tell the tale, but those who have speak of a creature that is relentless, cunning, and utterly without mercy. If you ever find yourself face to face with the Nameless One, pray that you have the strength, the skill, and the luck to survive its wrath. If you see any of his minions, you will know. Stay away from them, if you harm them, you will anger the Nameless one. And don't fall asleep out in the open unless you want to become food for his minions
Remember, these rules are not to be taken lightly. They're more than just words on a piece of paper. They're like the Nameless One's eldritch serpentine minions, crawling underneath your skin, snaking through your blood and flesh, like a caterpillar playing host to thousands of wasp larvae. Although you may feel weakened, tired and disoriented, it's crucial to push through. Shake off the feeling and continue with unwavering determination. Your survival hinges on your ability to persevere. And, do keep in mind that sometimes you might have to violate these rules but, do not break any of these rules unless explicitly told to ignore a given rule. Only trust notes from me( You'll know if a note is from me) and, non-black scrolls. Do not trust any other source of information though you can try your luck with certain gods, fairies and elementals . But, not all rules necessarily have to be correct. And, do not forget the rules. Forgetting even one of the rules can lead to disastrous consequences.
As you’re about to roll the scroll, you notice a poem at the bottom that reads -
I am a set of rules, both true and false,
Some may lead you right, others may convulse.
Secrets I hold, mysteries I hide,
But beware, dear explorer, for I may misguide.
Beware of sneaky contradictions,
And secrets lost in the Void's evictions.
Can you spot the lies, can you see?
Or will they trip you up and deceive?
I am a list of rules, some true and some fake,
Read me closely, your life is at stake.
The truth is hidden, the lies intertwined,
Can you spot the deception and leave it behind?
But beware, dear reader, for beyond these words,
A darkness looms, like flocks of ominous birds.
The raven is watching, its eyes full of dread,
A symbol of death, of melancholy, and of what lies ahead.
You keep exploring.
A voice in the back of your brain keeps chanting "Don’t fall asleep" as you walk.
You keep exploring.

2023.04.01 12:20 ThrowRAJillyRoger Me(38F), my brother-in-law Jack(38M), my newlywed husband Rob(36M), and the entire family situation is turning toxic, awkward, and difficult to navigate
I have 1 older brother, 3 older sisters, 1 younger brother, and 2 younger sisters. I was born from an Asian country. My mom had a stroke awhile ago like their mom. While my dad passed away about 10 years ago. My oldest sister and I are living in the US.
Beginning in 2020, I traveled to the US country for vacation and my aunt heard a relative around for any recommendation regarding a potential husband(Rob) for me. My aunt and uncle reached out to them and recommended me. I was accepted by their family and we decided to move forward with the process and they allowed me to live in their house and I worked at their family owned business.
Their mom had a stroke around mid 2021, which caused her to be paralyzed on the left side, needing assistance for moving around, and doing daily activities. Their family has not been the same and the situation affected all of us living in the house. Their mom is in bed most of the time and speaks to whomever she can speak with especially with her family and I.
Within 1 year, I eventually got to know their family and got closer to Rob. We both decided to get married late 2021 with the support from both side of the family.
My mom-in-law and I would have conversations about her worries and concerns for her family's future for more than a year now because their mom is in bed most of the time and not completely there anymore.
My mom-in-law asked me to look/recommend someone for Jack. I saw an opportunity to recommend one of my sister that is currently living in my country because this will align with my main agenda by bringing my family members over to the US because the living standard is better over here than in the other country, I will be given praise from my family and extended family that I was capable to do such a thing in a small amount of time. At this point, I'm making a power move for one of my sister to come over to the US for a better future. And I see Jack as a potential candidate to do it. I will have more control, power, and influence on both side of the family near the future.
Their mom is in agreement with me because their mom is liking the recommended sister that will be great for the family and from how my sister is religiously devoted. In actuality, my oldest sister and I truly love our family that is overseas, and I'm feeling obligated with responsibility to do anything to bring one of my sisters over to the US for a better future.
So I planned an overseas trip and brought Jack along so he can get to know the family and especially my recommended sister.
After 3-4 months from the overseas trip, Jack's parents have been insisting him to do it rather he likes it or not because his parents realized the overseas trip potentially didn't bring any connection/meaningful relationship with my recommended sister. And I can see it as well. His personality is okay, but needs to change a lot. He has no friends, not finished with college, lives inside the room comes in and out for eating then goes back inside. I don't trust him anymore. I thought I could get him on my side for sure but it seems like it is too much manipulation, he notices.
I was having long conversations with my oldest sister before traveling overseas and if I played it right then I could narrow one of my sisters for Jack without me suggesting any other options outside the family for him. My plan was to want more from my family-in-laws and trick/brainwash their mind to doing such a thing for my family without having to directly ask Jack and reveal my true intentions. I believe this has to do with me wanting more from my family-in-laws and human nature to take advantage of someone and people around them.
Jack has 4 older brothers and his parents. The second and third have moved out. His oldest brother(married to me), the fourth, and Jack(the youngest) along with their parents living under the same household.
If Jack does bring one of my sisters over to the US and things fallout between the relationship then it would have been still a win-win situation for my family because she would had the opportunity to stay in the US.
The positive consequences for my family and I far out weigh the negative consequences with bringing one of my sister over to the US.
I lived with my family-in-laws for 3 years so far and I work hard with high motivation and lots of interest because I'm having tax incentives with being married to Rob getting extremely supportive from my family-in-laws. I'm saving my money and I will most likely be in control of the family business with Rob near the future. So, I'm sitting pretty well by staying with my family-in-laws for the past 3 years, rent free, utilities free, and support from my family-in-laws. I want more because I see the opportunity, the power, and influence I have on my family-in-laws. Having money, living in the US, sharing it with my family that is overseas shows where I stand with my family overseas and my influence on the people around me after coming to the US. Almost like showing dominance over another individual or family household member.
I'm well respected because I'm a hard worker, dedicated, and a highly motivated individual. However, I believe I might be asking for too much at this point. My oldest sister's agenda and my agenda is not right when you incorporate more things that involve families from our family because I believe it is wrong to a certain degree it would be better if it was someone outside my family members or not have even planned it out to begin with. Things need to happen organically not forcefully or manipulatively because the relationship will not last long term. Sometimes, I don't care and do it because I want things and I do it regardless. My oldest sister and I are thankful for what we currently have because it can all slip away easily.
My newlywed husband Rob agrees with me because he is now married to me and I love my spouse more than anybody else. Rob tells me everything and say things to me because he worries for his family and he loves his mom, but I need to know more things about his family and I have high interest with things from my overseas family.
Their mom is out of the picture because of her illness and she is highly influenced by her current state of mind. She is extremely devoted to religion along with Rob and I. Their dad doesn't care that much, but is still trying to do his best to mediate the situation for what happened before the overseas trip, during the overseas trip, and up until now.
At this point for me, I'm willing to do things because it has some meaning or associated with things I love near to my heart. At this age, I believe you either have high interest or doing it out of love.
Tl;dr: I need help with inputs, opinions, and suggestions from anyone, if what I did was extremely wrong, toxic, or just using them and my family-in-laws. It seems like I'm desperate to bringing one of my sister over because my family overseas is having no luck, so I'm trying to push my luck onto my family overseas. I did give back to my country and gave money I worked(tax free) from the support of his family business overseas. I do naturally want control, obedience, loyalty, and cooperation from the family despite knowing the family in such a small amount of time. Do you think they will think I'm manipulative, by being toxic, harmful, and controlling?

2023.04.01 12:19 drneo Asked Bing to write a complaint about A9. It probably learnt from this reddit. :D
Hello, fellow racers. Today I want to share with you my frustration with Asphalt 9 on iOS. I have been playing this game for a while and I have to say, it is one of the worst experiences I have ever had on a mobile device.
First of all, the game is full of bugs and glitches. Sometimes the cars disappear from the screen, sometimes they fly off the track, sometimes they crash into invisible walls. The physics are so unrealistic that it makes me wonder if the developers ever drove a real car in their lives.
Secondly, the game is pay-to-win. You need to spend real money to buy tokens and credits to upgrade your cars and unlock new ones. The prices are outrageous and the rewards are meager. The game constantly bombards you with ads and offers that try to lure you into spending more. It is a blatant cash grab that exploits the players' addiction.
Thirdly, the game is unfair and frustrating. The matchmaking system is broken and often pits you against players who have much better cars and skills than you. The AI opponents are cheating and always catch up to you no matter how fast you go. The controls are unresponsive and laggy. The tracks are boring and repetitive. The events are rigged and impossible to complete.
In conclusion, Asphalt 9 on iOS is a terrible game that should be avoided at all costs. It is a waste of time, money and battery life. It is an insult to the racing genre and the Asphalt franchise. It is a disgrace to the gaming industry and the iOS platform. Do yourself a favor and delete this game from your device right now. You will thank me later.

2023.04.01 12:17 Alliejam1 ACIM WORKBOOK LESSON 91
LESSON 91. Miracles are seen in light.
It is important to remember that miracles and vision necessarily go together. This needs repeating, and frequent repeating. It is a central idea in your new thought system, and the perception that it produces. The miracle is always there. Its presence is not caused by your vision; its absence is not the result of your failure to see. It is only your awareness of miracles that is affected. You will see them in the light; you will not see them in the dark.
To you, then, light is crucial. While you remain in darkness, the miracle remains unseen. Thus you are convinced it is not there. This follows from the premises from which the darkness comes. Denial of light leads to failure to perceive it. Failure to perceive light is to perceive darkness. The light is useless to you then, even though it is there. You cannot use it because its presence is unknown to you. And the seeming reality of the darkness makes the idea of light meaningless.
To be told that what you do not see is there sounds like insanity. It is very difficult to become convinced that it is insanity not to see what is there, and to see what is not there instead. You do not doubt that the body’s eyes can see. You do not doubt the images they show you are reality. Your faith lies in the darkness, not the light. How can this be reversed? For you it is impossible, but you are not alone in this.
Your efforts, however little they may be, have strong support. Did you but realize how great this strength, your doubts would vanish. Today we will devote ourselves to the attempt to let you feel this strength. When you have felt the strength in you, which makes all miracles within your easy reach, you will not doubt. The miracles your sense of weakness hides will leap into awareness as you feel the strength in you.
Three times today, set aside about ten minutes for a quiet time in which you try to leave your weakness behind. This is accomplished very simply, as you instruct yourself that you are not a body. Faith goes to what you want, and you instruct your mind accordingly. Your will remains your teacher, and your will has all the strength to do what it desires. You can escape the body if you choose. You can experience the strength in you.
Begin the longer practice periods with this statement of true cause and effect relationships:
Miracles are seen in light. The body’s eyes do not perceive the light. But I am not a body. What am I?
The question with which this statement ends is needed for our exercises today. What you think you are is a belief to be undone. But what you really are must be revealed to you. The belief you are a body calls for correction, being a mistake. The truth of what you are calls on the strength in you to bring to your awareness what the mistake conceals. If you are not a body, what are you? You need to be aware of what the Holy Spirit uses to replace the image of a body in your mind. You need to feel something to put your faith in, as you lift it from the body. You need a real experience of something else, something more solid and more sure; more worthy of your faith, and really there.
If you are not a body, what are you? Ask this in honesty, and then devote several minutes to allowing your mistaken thoughts about your attributes to be corrected, and their opposites to take their place. Say, for example:
I am not weak, but strong. I am not helpless, but all powerful. I am not limited, but unlimited. I am not doubtful, but certain. I am not an illusion, but a reality. I cannot see in darkness, but in light.
In the second phase of the exercise period, try to experience these truths about yourself. Concentrate particularly on the experience of strength. Remember that all sense of weakness is associated with the belief you are a body, a belief that is mistaken and deserves no faith. Try to remove your faith from it, if only for a moment. You will be accustomed to keeping faith with the more worthy in you as we go along.
Relax for the rest of the practice period, confident that your efforts, however meager, are fully supported by the strength of God and all His Thoughts. It is from Them that your strength will come. It is through Their strong support that you will feel the strength in you. They are united with you in this practice period, in which you share a purpose like Their Own. Theirs is the light in which you will see miracles, because Their strength is yours. Their strength becomes your eyes, that you may see.
Five or six times an hour, at reasonably regular intervals, remind yourself that miracles are seen in light. Also, be sure to meet temptation with today’s idea. This form would be helpful for this special purpose:
Miracles are seen in light. Let me not close my eyes because of this.

2023.04.01 12:17 Lyncept I fucked up by having really bad sex
I’ve talking to this girl (both mid 20s) for a couple weeks now and I really like her. Our chemistry is really good and I really enjoy her company. Yesterday she came over and we started watching a movie, things got heated but then she told me she’s going through her lady time so didn’t want to have sex. I said it’s fine and we just carried on making out and getting frisky. Eventually we got really horny and decided to still try, she said she was a bit anxious about making a mess and I said I don’t mind.
Sex was good for the first 5-10 mins but then when I went on to switch positions I just couldn’t put my penis in! I tried missionary, nothing; doggy, nothing. I tried using some lube and still wouldn’t go in. Anyways I’m not sure if she was too tight as she was a bit anxious or I’m just incompetent but eventually I lost my erection after so much trying and I started to get really anxious myself.
I’ve had sex with multiple women but honestly they’ve all been one offs with lots of alcohol involved so I’d say I’m still very very inexperienced.
Anyways, I think I fucked up, I really like this girl but I fucked up the sex. Not really sure what to do.. we did line up a couple dates but honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if she just ghosts me…

2023.04.01 12:17 Bleuowl12 How does my 1 1/2 day Kamakura Itinerary look? Any suggestions or critiques?
Hey all,
I'll be traveling to Kamakura tommorow for the first time and was looking for some feedback on my itinerary. This is my first time in Japan, so apologies if it seems rough or doesn't make much sense. My sense of time isn't the best so let me know if this is unrealistic. Also, if there's anything I'm missing that you'd reccomend then please let me know!
Day 1:
Leave Airbnb around 7:00 AM, walk to konbini and grab breakfast. Then, visit Moto Hachiman and Yakumo shrine on the way to Tsurugaoka Hachimangu.
Visit Tsurugaoka Hachimangu, then head towards Hokokuji temple. Consider checking out Sugimotodera and/or Jomyoji, then head to start of Tenen trail (I've heard you can either start from Zuisen-ji or Myoou-in, any thoughts?)
Hike Tenen trail, stopping partway through to take a break and snack
After finishing trail, stop at Hansobo shrine and Kencho-ji (I've also heard good things about Meigetsuin and Engakuji, would those be better?), then head to Kita-Kamakura station and take train to Kamakura station.
Walk around Komachi street to visit stores/street food and grab lunch, then go back to Airbnb for an hour or two and rest.
Then, walk back to Kamakura station and take Enoden train to Enoshima. Walk over bridge and up Enoshima main street to Enoshima shrine (anything else you'd suggest on Enoshima?)
Take train back to Kamakura, grab dinner then head back to Airbnb.
Day 2:
Leave Airbnb around 5:30 AM, walk to konbini and grab breakfast, then grab train from Kamakura station to Kita-Kamakura station.
Hike Daibutsu trail to Kuzuharaoka Shrine, then walk to Genjiyama park to take a break and eat.
Walk to Sasuke Inari Shrine, then continue hiking the rest of the Daibutsu trail
Walk to Kotoku-in (I assume it'll be 8:00 AM by then?), then visit Hasedera
Walk to Hase station, consider stopping by Goryo shrine on the way.
Take train/walk back to and check out of Airbnb, then depart Kamakura
This is the first stop on my first trip to Japan, so I'm still learning how to plan things, but I nevertheless want my visit to Kamakura to be great. Again, any help would be super appreciated! Thanks in advance

2023.04.01 12:16 spydamark All the complaints of people driving crazy miles for low pay hoping for a big tip. Then mad for low pay. Blame your self for taking that delivery in the first place.
Every market is different first of all. Yah out here driving crazy miles hoping for a big tip and when you get nothing your mad. Why did you take the order in the first place. If your not cool with what they show you up front do not take the delivery decline that shit asap. Dont fall for DD headgames and chase that carriot only accept deliveries that are profitable end of story period. Acceptance rate does not matter. Oh ill accept this bad delivery and then they'll send me a good one lol. Dont play your self like that ever again. Why are you traveling 10 miles for 4.00 dollars make it make sense. That's just an example. I have a game plan that I stick to every time. I don't drive out past 3 miles and thats about the max for me I don't care about the price unless it's a very high dollar amount for the miles. That I'm cool that they showed me upfront with. Yes DD is trash but I only accept what's profitable for me. I multi app as well. Good luck out there every body the grind dont stop keep hustling and make your money!

2023.04.01 12:16 RobinWuzz “I truly believe that Rakuten Mobile can surpass the big three mobile carriers in Japan and I believe that its success is the most effective way to dramatically grow your business”
A mobile future for e-commerce: Mikitani at New Year Conference 18 hours ago
t the Rakuten New Year Conference each January, Rakuten chairman and CEO Mickey Mikitani takes to the stage to share his vision for the future of the e-commerce and tech industries.
This year, Mikitani had one core message for the 30,000 Rakuten Ichiba marketplace merchants and stakeholders tuning in:
Mobile! Mobile matters more than ever “In 2006, back when we were still using flip phones,” Mikitani reminisced, “I spoke at this very conference about how we needed to focus on
Mobile! Mobile! Mobile! At a time when mobile sales made up basically 0% of our GMS (gross merchandise sales), I predicted that it would reach as high as 70% in the future.”
This prediction was fulfilled – and quickly surpassed.
“On this past New Year’s Day, 89.3% of total GMS came through mobile. What this means is that mobile is no longer just our
main source of revenue: It’s becoming nearly
all of our revenue.”
“THE WHOLE WORLD CALLED THIS A PIPE DREAM, BUT WE DID IT. AND OUR SOFTWARE IS BECOMING INCREASINGLY OPEN SOURCE – SOMETHING UNHEARD OF IN THE TELECOM SPACE.” MICKEY MIKITANI, CHAIRMAN & CEO, RAKUTEN GROUP
For the 2023 conference, Mikitani deployed a new but familiar rallying cry: Mobile! Mobile! Mobile!
Mobile! “As you have no doubt read in the news, we are currently undertaking a new challenge in the form of Rakuten Mobile,” he reminded the conference. “But we are not trying to create just another mobile carrier like Softbank, au or Docomo. We are creating another enormous new platform to add to the Rakuten Ecosystem.”
Trailblazing, software-centric telecommunications Powering its ambitious journey to become Japan’s fourth major mobile carrier is
Rakuten Mobile’s adoption of a strong focus on cutting-edge software-based solutions – a pioneering approach that is sparking a transformation in the hardware-heavy telecom industry.
“The technology we have developed is simply unparalleled,” Mikitani explained with both pride and excitement. “Traditionally, mobile networks have always needed giant network hardware equipment from the likes of Huawei and Nokia. We’ve actually changed all of that to operate solely with software.”
The ambitious plan attracted its fair share of skeptics, but Mikitani believes the results speak for themselves, “The whole world called this a pipe dream, but we did it. And our software is becoming increasingly open source – something unheard of in the telecom space.”
This trailblazing network architecture has allowed Rakuten to provide a truly unlimited service at just a fraction of the cost of other networks. Mikitani revealed that subscribers of other carriers averaged just 9.3GB of data usage per month, compared to Rakuten Mobile’s 18.4GB.
“That is how we’ve achieved this extraordinarily fair and accessible plan – 2,980 yen no matter how much data you use. A mobile plan for the 100-gigabyte age,” he declared. “By freeing consumers from these extremely expensive, ludicrous mobile plans, we hope they’ll become fans of Rakuten Group and Rakuten Ichiba and choose to use our services.”
Rakuten Mobile empowering growth on Rakuten Ichiba and beyond “The
Rakuten Ecosystem consists of Rakuten Ichiba in the center, with services like Rakuten Card, Rakuten Securities and Rakuten Bank surrounding it as supporting pillars. And the strongest of these pillars will be Rakuten Mobile.”
“RAKUTEN IS THE ONE PLATFORM THAT CONTINUES TO GROW. THE MAIN REASON FOR THIS IS OUR ECOSYSTEM, AND THE STRONGEST PILLAR OF THIS ECOSYSTEM IS RAKUTEN MOBILE.” Mikitani cautioned the merchants and stakeholders at the conference not to dismiss Rakuten Mobile as a separate undertaking, unrelated to Rakuten’s other businesses.
“This is all part of a plan to build an ecosystem that’s stronger than anything that has existed before,” he explained. “This is our strategy to boost GMS growth for everyone here and the biggest takeaway should be that this growth is closely intertwined with the success of Rakuten Mobile.”
Mikitani laid out his vision to grow Rakuten’s domestic e-commerce revenue to 10 trillion yen by 2030. Rakuten Mobile, he told the conference, would serve as a major pillar in this plan.
“Right now, domestic e-commerce GMS for Rakuten Group has reached 5.6 trillion yen,” he reported. “I believe that Rakuten Mobile will contribute around 2 trillion to this goal.”
Mikitani’s reasoning is simple: “Rakuten Mobile customers are buying more and more on Rakuten Ichiba. That means that as Rakuten Mobile subscriber numbers grow, so will your GMS.”
It’s more than just a hunch: Mikitani demonstrated the magnitude of this effect with hard data.
“WHEN USERS SIGN UP FOR RAKUTEN MOBILE, ON AVERAGE THEY’RE USING 4.5 RAKUTEN SERVICES. ONE YEAR LATER, THEY’RE USING SEVEN SERVICES ON AVERAGE. THAT’S PRETTY AMAZING.” “Subscribers purchase an average of 49% more – nearly 50% – annually compared to before joining Rakuten Mobile,” he revealed. “86% of Rakuten Mobile users shop at Rakuten Ichiba… If Rakuten Mobile reaches 15 or 20 million users, everyone’s total GMS will naturally increase by at least 50%.”
There are several factors that could be driving this phenomenon, Mikitani thinks. These include the considerable savings Rakuten Mobile subscribers enjoy, freeing up household budgets and effectively boosting disposable income.
Rakuten’s highly popular loyalty point program is also likely playing a role: Mobile subscribers enjoy a higher rate of return when shopping on Rakuten Ichiba. A similar program was implemented for users of Rakuten Card, which now handles over 70% of all transactions on the platform and has seen almost 30 million cards issued in Japan.
“We want to do the same thing with Rakuten Mobile – but on a scale several times larger.”
Rakuten Mobile is also having an exciting effect on the wider ecosystem – namely, on user engagement with multiple Rakuten services.
“When users sign up for Rakuten Mobile, on average they’re using 4.5 Rakuten services. One year later, they’re using seven services on average. That’s pretty amazing.”
Growing Rakuten’s core and the ecosystem “Rakuten is the only company in the world that can do this because we’re not just Rakuten Ichiba, but also Rakuten Travel, Rakuten Card, Rakuten Bank, Rakuten Securities and more – all working in tandem,” Mikitani argued. “Last year, almost all major e-commerce companies in the U.S. saw decreases in market share. The same probably happened in the Japan market, but Rakuten is the one platform that continues to grow. The main reason for this is our ecosystem, and the strongest pillar of this ecosystem is Rakuten Mobile.”
Mikitani touched on the skepticism directed towards the mobile business, comparing it to that received by Rakuten’s credit card, banking and travel businesses before each turned their respective industries on their heads.
“I truly believe that Rakuten Mobile can surpass the big three mobile carriers in Japan and I believe that its success is the most effective way to dramatically grow your business,” he told the conference attendees. “Everything revolves around a core. That core is Rakuten Ichiba. It’s our heart, and it makes it possible for us to continue to grow.”

About me Hello there, my name is Coach Chesster(Yes, an obvious Chess reference, which is, by far, my favorite game). I've been playing League of Legends since season one, I've experienced everything from full AP Yi one-shotting my entire team to Tryndamere mains spinning around with a needlessly large rod instead of a sword. You could say I've been there during all the important historical moments of the game. I've been at the top of the ladder in Season 6 (Going between high Diamond and Challenger, based on how much time I've had to invest). I've competed in various tournaments, even being able to win a number of them, before I decided to get myself into coaching.
Coaching I started the entire coaching thing during season 7 when one of my friends asked if I wanted to help him get out of that Diamond 4 hell. Ever since then, I was having a consistent number of sessions on a weekly basis, with my network of people slowly increasing(One of them actually gave me the idea to advertise on Reddit, which I did eventually accept!) 2023.04.01 12:15 AutoModerator April What Editing Software should I use?
Are you looking to pick editing software? THIS IS YOUR THREAD.
TL;DR - you want DaVinci Resolve Resolve, Hitfilm Express, Olive Editor or Kdenlive.
Seriously, read This whole post!
This post solves 98% of
"what software do I use" questions.
There are key steps you need to take before you reply if you want help. Especially the last sentence.
----------------
THREE THINGS YOU HAVE TO KNOW.
These three things are crucial (spoiler tag to make you read):
- Footage type (See below)
- Hardware/System specs. Just saying "HD or 4k" doesn't help
- Even if you don't want something "fancy", you still need to read this.
- IF YOU DO NOT START YOUR REPLY with the proper format, you won't get a response.
Much of this comes from our fuller Wiki page on software.
If you get to the end of this post and you need more, check there first.
For example, MOBILE EDITING SOLUTIONS are in the wiki. Nobody is an expert on all of the tools.
Trying it with your system and footage is the best way to work. -------------------------------
1 - Footage type. Know what you're cutting.
FOOTAGE TYPE AFFECTS playback. READ THAT AGAIN. The compression type is key. Action cam, Mobile phone, and screen recordings can be difficult to edit, due to h264/5 material (especially 1080p60 or 4k) and Variable Frame Rate issues..
AGAIN: Footage types like 1080p60, 4k (any frame rate) are going to stress your system. When your system struggles, the way that the
professional industry has handled this for
decades is to use Proxies.
Proxies are a copy of your media in a lower resolution and possibly a "friendlier" codec.
A
proxy workflow more than any other feature, is what makes editing high frame rate, 4k oand h264/5 footage possible.
It is important to know if your software has this capability.
See our wiki about*
Variable Frame Rate*
Why h264/5 is hard*
Proxy editing -------
2- Key Hardware suggestions:
The suggested hardware minimums for the "average" user
- A recent i7 (due to intel Quick Sync)
- 16GB of RAM
- A GPU with 2+ GB of GPU RAM
- An SSD (for cache files.)
Can other hardware work?
Certainly - but may not necessarily provide a great experience.
GPUS do not help with the codec/playback of media but do help with visual effects. We have a dedicated hardware thread monthly. Hardware questions belong there. -------------
3- I Just need something simple. I don't need all those effects.
Sadly, having
super easy-to-use software means engineering teams*.*
iMovie came with your Mac and is by far the easiest-to-use editor for either platform.
There isn't a lightweight, easy-to-use free/inexpensive editor that we'd recommend for Windows the way we recommend iMovie. We wish iMovie was available for windows.
The closest we've seen on windows is Olive editor (open source) ----
Okay, so what do you suggest?
Editing
Two tools that charge but have
very usable free versions.
- DaVinci Resolve - Needs a strong video card/hardware. Max size (free) is UHD. Full version for $299. Mac/Win/Linux. Full proxy workflow. An excellent tool if your hardware can handle it.
- Hit Film - freemium - no watermark. Extra features at a price. Mac/Win. Full proxy workflow. You don't have to buy their packs for text (you can do it manually). Their "intro" packs aren't terrible. This has some after-effects-like features - but has little professional adoption.
I want Easy
Know that any of these tools are limited - many "advanced" features aren't ever going to be available here and there is no growth to a professional market.
- Adobe Rush - Free, but.. - Win/Mac/Android/iOS. Easy to use, free software. No watermarks. You must create an Adobe account, but you don't have to buy anything. You will have to buy a subscription if you want: mobile to desktop transfer or Rush to Premiere transfer.
- ClipChamp, bought by Microsoft. It's not terrible. Has a freemium tier.
- CapCut - they have mobile tools. Our biggest warning is that while they have some interesting features, anything really good is buried into a subscription for the app.
I want the tools that professionals use:
In
alphabetical order:
These
all have costs, some of them are subscription only. If you're thinking you want to move in the future to doing this professionally, we'd suggest Premiere for
most people.
- Adobe Premiere Pro
- Apple Final Cut Pro
- Avid Media Composer
- BMD DaVinci Resolve
Open Source tools
Open source tools. We think these are great - but there is no UI team/support - Kdenlive -Open source with proxy workflows. Windows/Linux. Full proxy workflow. Good for low-end computers. Standard color-grading tools. Some features that are locked behind a paywall (in Hitfilm such) as glitch effects and spot removal are available for free. Lacks in VFX/ text tool barebones.
- Olive Editor Easier than Kdenlive - but in the middle of a major rewrite - may be unstable. .1 is easy, but unsupported. .2 is being actively developed - but has less features.
- ShotCut - Linux/Windows/Mac. Lesser features than Kdenlive (e.g not a lot of color-grading effects in comparison). Has a proxy workflow, though it's not as good as Kdenlive either.
We mention other tools in the wiki, but generally, nobody has bought/tested the tools at \$100 or less. And we're not suggesting the "bigger" tools but happen to discuss them. 99% of people who come here are looking to play for zero dollars.)
Effects
- Hit Film - freemium - no watermark. Extra features at a price. Mac/Win. Full proxy workflow. You don't have to buy their packs for text (you can do it manually). Their "intro" packs aren't terrible. This has some after effects like features - but has little professional adoption.
- Calvary (free tier) - This is a dynamic cross platform motion graphic tool that has a very powerful free tier.
Web Sites worth noting
- RunwayML - A paid web tool that has some free features. Of note, it's AI ability to remove (you only get access to a lower res version for free). Also has a rudimentary editor.
Compression
Shutter Encoder is a free, cross-platform compression tool. It's a GUI front end to FFMPEG (a command-line utility.) It does more than handbrake, our prior favorite.
- It can do a variety of conversions, including H264, HEVC, ProRes, and DNxHD/HR.
- It can trim a video without re-encoding (it's not an editor, a trimmer in this case)
- It can convert a Variable Frame Rate video to Constant frame rate in h264 (but we'd recommend converting to an edit-friendly codec)
Lossless cut is an excellent tool to "snip" out a section of what you downloaded. Shutter does this too, but Lossless is a little easier.
Mobile
- iOS Free: iMovie
- iOS Paid: Lumafusion
- Android (and Chromebooks that run Android apps): Kinemaster
- Capcut (just really, REALLY watch that they quickly become a subscription tool.)
-------
Nov 2022.
Clipchamp. Capcut.
Professional tools aren't suggested - because invariably, someone comes into this thread asking why we don't suggest a $600/yr subscription for hobby editors.
------
Feb 2023
Yes, we're watching the space about ChatGPT, Stable Diffusion and more. But there isn't an auto editor, not based on text description - not yet. And certainly not for free.
If you have tools you think are AI editorial tools, post them here.
This exists to answer the question, "What AI tool will edit for me."
-------
If you've read all of that, start your post/reply:
"I read the above and have a more nuanced question:"
And copy (fill out) the following information as needed:
My system
My media
- (Camera, phone, download)
- Codec
- Software I'm using/intend to use:
---
(And just because some people get confused by this each month:
This thread isn't for you to argue what is best - it's to help others understand what their software needs are to have a good editorial experience.
They ask questions (based on the format in the thread), and we give answers.)
Seriously, if you don't
start your reply with "I read the above and have a more nuanced question", likely the response will be
slower. submitted by

2023.04.01 12:14 Mammoth-Thought-8837 I'm struggling with a friendship, request input
Eh this whole post may be tl:dr, but it's helping me collect my thoughts.
I'm fairly isolated and don't have many friends. I lack confidence when it comes to my ability to connect with other people. One of my closest friends is also a roommate, we've known each other for many years. I struggle with feeling like I annoy him and being unsure if he actually wants to hang out with me. Our friendship feels one sided to me, in the sense that I am the only one who ever initiates contact or us hanging out. He never contacts me first, or asks me to do anything with him. He is very monotone and tends to just go with the flow, participating with stuff that's presented to him. I have a hard time reading whether he is interested in something, or just being passive and agreeable. He tends to respond to things in an aloof way, and never directly turns anything down. It makes me feel really insecure about spending time with him. However I also know that he struggles with depression and isn't the type of person to take initiative with any of the people in his life, so I don't think it's personal and that's why I keep going. This isn't new. I know that our friendship is based on me reaching out to him. But lately it's been really bothering me.
Anyway I am dog sitting right now, I know that he's been feeling depressed lately and he really likes dogs, so I invited him to join us on a walk hoping it would cheer him up. I first asked him if he wanted to go on a dog adventure at the end of the week a couple of days ago and I think he sounded interested. I texted him in the early evening and later called him in case he hadn't noticed my text. He said over the phone that he just needed to get his laundry in the drier and he would come come over in a half hour. It took him an hour and a half to show up, and waiting on him made me feel pretty restless and annoyed. I guess he was late because he wanted to get some stuff done before coming over. But if he wanted to hang out, why would he leave his laundry and personal chores until tonight and choose to do them right then? It's not like there's a hard deadline for any of those tasks. Am I just being too sensitive in being bothered by this? Am I making too many assumptions? Assuming he was interested in hanging out with me and then assuming he wasn't interested because he showed up so late? I asked him if he actually wanted to hang out or just came because I pressured him into it. I complained about our friendship being one sided and that he never asks me to do stuff with him. This sparked an argument with him leaving.
He basically said it was an aggressive and unfriendly question, and that the one time he did try to initiate contact with me I was hostile. This was a couple weeks back when I was having a really rough time mental health wise. I'm having a really rough time of things, with the death of some relatives and my own debilitating health problem. When my mental health gets bad I tend to shut down and have a hard time communicating with people. This time it got so bad that I couldn't even talk. I ended up avoiding everyone. Which I get can seem really rude and be unpleasant to be around. I feel bad about that and I wish I had some better coping mechanisms. In the past when I've struggled with my mental health around my roommate/old friend he's gotten upset because he thinks my mood is because of him. He wants to have a big deep discussion to resolve the issue. I find this stressful. I wish I could have a bad day or a bad week to myself without it being about him. Anyway a couple weeks ago when I was in a bad state and not socializing with him like usual, he asked if I was okay. I was very not okay but was having a hard time speaking. I think I said something along the lines that I'm doing poorly, but it's just something I'm going through and not anything that has to do with him. I also asked him if I need to alert him every time I'm struggling so that he doesn't think it's a conflict between us. I was feeling annoyed at the time because I didn't feel up to talking and the only way he handles those kinds of situations is through having a deep discussion. I was bothered by the idea of having to participate in a talk to listen to how my feelings are making him feel and convince him that I don't have a problem with him. So I ended up coming across as really stand-offish and also avoiding him for the rest of the week. I eventually started to be able to communicate again and get back to having normal interactions. However it bothers him to let things return to normal without discussing it, while these big discussions stress me out.
I get that he's not okay with being treated that way and that it's important to him to be able to confront people when he feels hurt or disrespected. It's wrong for me to make my friend feel so poorly for just trying to check up on me, but I wish I could have a bad day or a bad week without it having to be such a big deal. If anything comes out that he doesn't like he will memorize it and quote it back to me at a later time, to reiterate how much it bothered him. I may say something in the heat of the moment that comes out wrong, that I don't actually agree with, and it feels really awful. He is always able to stay well composed and well spoken. I'm not saying it's okay to say aggressive things to my friend or make him feel bad, but is it not human to loose your temper on occasion? It's something that happens rarely. It feels like he won't give me any leeway to be flawed with communication in a bad moment. I try hard to be a good friend to him. I don't think I'm mean spirited or aggressive as a whole, but he makes me feel pretty bad about myself. I don't know if I'm a bad friend. Are we incompatible as friends? We normally do great as housemates, but I'm not sure if I want to continue next year because I don't feel safe having a full range of emotions in proximity of him and I feel like we make each other's insecurities worse.
The negative interaction we had with the dog walking thing seems like such a small thing. It seems dumb putting this much thought into such a short interaction and such a brief micro conflict. I know my friend probably felt spurred into getting chores done because the idea of doing something fun motivated him after feeling too down to get much done these past few days, and he probably lost track of time or didn't think it would bother me how late he showed up. He probably feels hurt that I would get so frustrated with him when he needs a friend. He probably feels disrespected that I discounted his ability to turn me down and implied that he's only spending time with me because I make him. Thinking of him like that takes away his agency. I know I could have handled my frustration in a less aggressive way and found a nicer way to communicate my feelings. I could have started by asking why he was so late, rather then letting my insecurities tell me that he's late because he doesn't feel like coming and just didn't want to turn me down. I could have calmly told him how his actions made me feel, rather then venting my feelings on him. I could have just focused on tonight, rather then connecting it to a pattern of our overall friendship. I know that's how he's going to take the interaction and he's going to walk to talk about it when I get home.
I'm dreading going home. I know it's going to be awkward. I know he's going to want to have a discussion about this and things can't go back to normal until we do. I know that I am going to shut down and feel a strong urge to avoid him for days, and he won't let this go. I know that I'm not going to be able to effectively talk with him and he's going to take what ever comes out to heart in a bad way. Anything I say has the capacity to hurt him and he seems to get emotionally wounded very deeply very easily. I hate that. I don't want to cause him emotional pain. I feel like he's holding every negative interaction from all his past experiences with people against me, on top of what ever I may do wrong. I'm not sure if he thinks I'm a bad person or a bad friend, and it makes me feel bad. He won't give me the benefit of the doubt and move on, and perhaps I am doing the same to him.

2023.04.01 12:14 mettalmag Finally got my hands on a ~250sqm building, need a bit of help to plan properly cloning and flowering rooms
Never did a growth above 10sqm so I'm a bit struggling to plan properly how to manage this scale.
Almost every room is usable except those two 5sqm ones and the large 96sqm one is divided into two rooms - 55 and 40sqm ones where 40sqm one is central room and also not usable. So there's almost 200 sqm of usable space. I was wondering what the rule of thumb is if I'm planning to make veg and flowering rooms to get cycles every 90 days.
I'm thinking to make 16.8 and 18.1 ones for mother plants, I don't mind having excess clones.
15.1 and 14.1 sqm ones make veg rooms and 3 rooms of 25.4, 38.3 and 55sqm do for flowering.
For now that's all, any help would be much appreciated.

2023.04.01 12:13 MurderousButterfly Need some advice on telling my 11 Yr old her father and I have separated.
She isn't going to see it coming, I certainly didn't. There isn't any animosity between us and we are working really well to keep things as normal as possible for the kids.
I just don't know how to phrase it as truthfully as possible without making him out to be the bad guy. I don't want her to blame him or damage their relationship. He is a very good father and while he has gone about this in a shitty way and hurt me a lot, I know that he will do the best he can for our kids.
Anyone had parents seperate amicably when they were around this age? What were your thoughts/worries? What questions did you have? What did you need to feel secure that your parents both loved you and how did your life change afterwards?
Any insights would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

2023.04.01 12:13 Human-Shame1068 My motz.
This is my sixth mozzarella - the fifth almost killed me and certainly destroyed my spirit, so much so that I didn’t make cheese for a year.
I know how I was going wrong but I didn’t know when- when it came to stretching my curd the curds would almost dissolve under the heat of my whey (180f)- the ph was to acidic but when it was accelerating, I didn’t know.
So I got a wiz bang ph reader and a year later - tonight in fact - I went toe to toe with 8 litres of milk armed with my new ph reader and a bottle of vino.
My milk is 6.6 when I add my thermo culture
My milk is 6.4 when I add my rennet - I let it rippen for 45 minutes . I then dice the curd into inch cubes and stir every 10 minutes at 100f
Now… here’s the bit I can’t grasp .. from adding my rennet to draining it into my colande cheese cloth combo, my curds at now at 4.9ph.
All the recipes I have read state the curds need to ripen to 5.0 - 5.3 and this could take as long as 2 hours. My curds have seemingly skipped this - why?
I use 1/4 tea spoon of thermo culture and have my temp consistently at 100f .
I calibrate my reader between use.
What am I doing wrong ?
I still manage to stretch the curd at that acidity (4.9)but I feel it’s not the ball park I should be aiming for.
I would love to hear some feed back from the pros.

2023.04.01 12:13 aotdev Costs of marshalling an array from C++, and avoiding allocations
I have a native DLL that generates a bounded, but arbitrary amount of data (ushorts). I want to marshall data in C# efficiently and without allocations on the C# side. How do I do that? My thoughts, as of now:
version 1: preallocate max-size array in C# - In the native DLL, define a function "int generate_and_copy_data(uint16_t * ptr)" that writes data to pointer and returns how much it wrote
- In C#, call that DLL and pass a ushort[] array that is big enough (in my case, about 256KB worth of ushorts). Work on the results based on how many elements we actually wrote
For this version, I'm worried that when marshalling the data to C#, all 256KB will be copied over, regardless of how much I wrote. Is that true? Assuming that is true, this is my workaround below
version 2: pick a preallocated array - In the native DLL, define a function "int generate_data()" that saves the data in some memory in the DLL
- In the native DLL, define a function "void copy_data( uint16_t * array)"
- In C#, have a bunch of preallocated arrays, e.g. with 32,64,128,256,512 elements and so on, up until 256K
- In C#, first invoke generate_data(), then see how many were generated, and then invoke copy_data() with the appropriate preallocated array.
Am I stupidly overcomplicating this? Are my assumptions incorrect?
