Monkey d. Luffy life and journey
Monkey D. Luffy is the main protagonist of the popular manga and anime series "One Piece". He is a young pirate and the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates, who are on a journey to find the legendary One Piece treasure and become the Pirate King. Luffy ate the Gomu Gomu no Mi Devil Fruit, which gave him the ability to stretch his body like rubber. He is known for his cheerful, carefree and determined personality, and his desire to make friends and protect them at all costs. He also has a strong sense of justice and a willingness to stand up against powerful enemies, making him a charismatic and respected figure in the world of One Piece.
his past:
he had a unique and tragic past. He was born in the East Blue and grew up in a small village called Foosha, where he was raised by his grandfather, Garp. Garp was a Marine Vice Admiral, and he frequently visited Luffy to train him to become a Marine.Luffy's childhood dream was to become a pirate and find the legendary treasure, One Piece. He was inspired by his idol, Red-Haired Shanks, who once saved him from a group of bandits at the cost of his left arm. When Luffy was seven years old, he accidentally ate the Gum-Gum Fruit, a Devil Fruit that gave him the ability to stretch his body like rubber but left him unable to swim. This made him an outcast among the other children in his village. One day, Luffy overheard a group of pirates talking about a treasure map, and he told them that he wanted to be a pirate. The pirates laughed and threw him into the ocean, but he was saved by Shanks and his crew.
One day, Garp sent Luffy to Dadan to take care of him. She is a tough and resilient woman who is the leader of the bandit group that took care of Luffy during his childhood. Dadan is also the adoptive mother of Luffy's older brother, Portgas D. Ace. then luffy met ace and sabo and become brothers by drinking sake.
Luffy and Ace are brothers, both having been adopted by Monkey D. Garp, a powerful marine and Luffy's grandfather. Ace was initially part of the Whitebeard Pirates but later became a captain of his own crew, the Spade Pirates. Ace and Luffy shared a close bond, with Ace always looking out for his younger brother and Luffy admiring Ace's strength and sense of justice.Sabo, on the other hand, was a boy from a noble family in the Goa Kingdom. The three of them were all dreamers and talked about their aspirations to become pirates and explore the world. However, Sabo's family disapproved of his friendship with Ace and Luffy and arranged for him to be sent away to study and eventually inherit the family fortune.

Satire is a technique in art and literature that pokes fun at established artistic or cultural norms. Satirists practice their craft for the sake of social criticism, comedy, or, often, both. The different satire genres include spoof, parody, and classic literary satire techniques.

Definition of satire
1: a literary work holding up human vices and follies to ridicule or scorn
2: trenchant wit, irony, or sarcasm used to expose and discredit vice or folly

The Culinary Roots of Satire
Satire came into English at the beginning of the 16th century, and the meaning of the word has not strayed very far from its original sense. The initial uses were primarily applied to poems, and the term now has a broader applicability. Satire has a semantic and etymological overlap with both farce and lampoon. Farce ("a light dramatic composition marked by broadly satirical comedy and improbable plot") came into English as a synonym for forcemeat, meaning "finely chopped and highly seasoned meat or fish that is either served alone or used as a stuffing." Lampoon ("a harsh satire usually directed against an individual") is thought to come from the French lampons!, meaning "let us guzzle!" And satire is believed to trace back to the Latin satur, meaning "well-fed."

Examples of satire in a Sentence
By contrast, Martial's friend, Juvenal, learned to transmute Martial's epigrammatic wit into savage satire. Juvenal's fierce, if occasionally obscene, tirades against immorality fit easily into the propaganda of the new era.
— G. W. Bowersock, New York Review of Books, 26 Feb. 2009
Unlike late-night talk shows that traffic in Hollywood interviews and stupid pet tricks, "The Daily Show" is a fearless social satire. Not many comedy shows would dare do five minutes on the intricacies of medicare or a relentlessly cheeky piece on President George W. Bush's Thanksgiving trip to Iraq …
— Marc Peyser, Newsweek, 29 Dec. 2003 - 5 Jan. 2004

In fiction and less frequently in non-fiction, satire is a genre of literature and performing arts, in which vices, follies, abuses and shortcomings are held up to ridicule, ideally with the intent of shaming individuals, corporations, government, or society itself into improvement.[1] Although satire is usually meant to be humorous, its greater purpose is often constructive social criticism, using wit to draw attention to both particular and wider issues in society.

A feature of satire is strong irony or sarcasm —"in satire, irony is militant", according to literary critic Northrup Frye—[2] but parody, burlesque, exaggeration,[3] juxtaposition, comparison, analogy, and double entendre are all frequently used in satirical speech and writing. This "militant" irony or sarcasm often professes to approve of (or at least accept as natural) the very things the satirist wishes to question.

Satire is nowadays found in many artistic forms of expression, including internet memes, literature, plays, commentary, television shows, and media such as lyrics.

Etymology and roots
The word satire comes from the Latin word satur and the subsequent phrase lanx satura. Satur meant "full" but the juxtaposition with lanx shifted the meaning to "miscellany or medley": the expression lanx satura literally means "a full dish of various kinds of fruits".[4]

The word satura as used by Quintilian, however, was used to denote only Roman verse satire, a strict genre that imposed hexameter form, a narrower genre than what would be later intended as satire.[4][5] Quintilian famously said that satura, that is a satire in hexameter verses, was a literary genre of wholly Roman origin (satura tota nostra est). He was aware of and commented on Greek satire, but at the time did not label it as such, although today the origin of satire is considered to be Aristophanes' Old Comedy. The first critic to use the term "satire" in the modern broader sense was Apuleius.[4]

To Quintilian, the satire was a strict literary form, but the term soon escaped from the original narrow definition. Robert Elliott writes:

As soon as a noun enters the domain of metaphor, as one modern scholar has pointed out, it clamours for extension; and satura (which had had no verbal, adverbial, or adjectival forms) was immediately broadened by appropriation from the Greek word for “satyr” (satyros) and its derivatives. The odd result is that the English “satire” comes from the Latin satura; but "satirize", "satiric", etc., are of Greek origin. By about the 4th century AD the writer of satires came to be known as satyricus; St. Jerome, for example, was called by one of his enemies 'a satirist in prose' ('satyricus scriptor in prosa'). Subsequent orthographic modifications obscured the Latin origin of the word satire: satura becomes satyra, and in England, by the 16th century, it was written 'satyre.'[1]

The word satire derives from satura, and its origin was not influenced by the Greek mythological figure of the satyr.[6] In the 17th century, philologist Isaac Casaubon was the first to dispute the etymology of satire from satyr, contrary to the belief up to that time.[7]

“ The rules of satire are such that it must do more than make you laugh. No matter how amusing it is, it doesn't count unless you find yourself wincing a little even as you chuckle.[8] ”
Laughter is not an essential component of satire;[9] in fact there are types of satire that are not meant to be "funny" at all. Conversely, not all humour, even on such topics as politics, religion or art is necessarily "satirical", even when it uses the satirical tools of irony, parody, and burlesque.

Even light-hearted satire has a serious "after-taste": the organizers of the Ig Nobel Prize describe this as "first make people laugh, and then make them think".[10]

Social and psychological functions
Satire and irony in some cases have been regarded as the most effective source to understand a society, the oldest form of social study.[11] They provide the keenest insights into a group's collective psyche, reveal its deepest values and tastes, and the society's structures of power.[12][13] Some authors have regarded satire as superior to non-comic and non-artistic disciplines like history or anthropology.[11][14][15][16] In a prominent example from ancient Greece, philosopher Plato, when asked by a friend for a book to understand Athenian society, referred him to the plays of Aristophanes.[17][18]

Historically, satire has satisfied the popular need to debunk and ridicule the leading figures in politics, economy, religion and other prominent realms of power.[19] Satire confronts public discourse and the collective imaginary, playing as a public opinion counterweight to power (be it political, economic, religious, symbolic, or otherwise), by challenging leaders and authorities. For instance, it forces administrations to clarify, amend or establish their policies. Satire's job is to expose problems and contradictions, and it's not obligated to solve them.[20] Karl Kraus set in the history of satire a prominent example of a satirist role as confronting public discourse.[21]

For its nature and social role, satire has enjoyed in many societies a special freedom license to mock prominent individuals and institutions.[22] The satiric impulse, and its ritualized expressions, carry out the function of resolving social tension.[23] Institutions like the ritual clowns, by giving expression to the antisocial tendencies, represent a safety valve which re-establishes equilibrium and health in the collective imaginary, which are jeopardized by the repressive aspects of society.[24][25]

The state of political satire in a given society reflects the tolerance or intolerance that characterizes it,[19] and the state of civil liberties and human rights. Under totalitarian regimes any criticism of a political system, and especially satire, is suppressed. A typical example is the Soviet Union where the dissidents, such as Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn and Andrei Sakharov were under strong pressure from the government. While satire of everyday life in the USSR was allowed, the most prominent satirist being Arkady Raikin, political satire existed in the form of anecdotes[26] that made fun of Soviet political leaders, especially Brezhnev, famous for his narrow-mindedness and love for awards and decorations.

Satire is a diverse genre which is complex to classify and define, with a wide range of satiric "modes".[27][28]

Horatian, Juvenalian, Menippean

"Le satire e l'epistole di Q. Orazio Flacco", printed in 1814.
Satirical literature can commonly be categorized as either Horatian, Juvenalian, or Menippean.[29]

Horatian satire, named for the Roman satirist Horace (65–8 BCE), playfully criticizes some social vice through gentle, mild, and light-hearted humour. Horace (Quintus Horatius Flaccus) wrote Satires to gently ridicule the dominant opinions and "philosophical beliefs of ancient Rome and Greece" (Rankin).[30] Rather than writing in harsh or accusing tones, he addressed issues with humor and clever mockery. Horatian satire follows this same pattern of "gently [ridiculing] the absurdities and follies of human beings" (Drury).[31]

It directs wit, exaggeration, and self-deprecating humour toward what it identifies as folly, rather than evil. Horatian satire's sympathetic tone is common in modern society.[32]

A Horatian satirist's goal is to heal the situation with smiles, rather than by anger. Horatian satire is a gentle reminder to take life less seriously and evokes a wry smile.[31] A Horatian satirist makes fun of general human folly rather than engaging in specific or personal attacks. Shamekia Thomas suggests, "In a work using Horatian satire, readers often laugh at the characters in the story who are the subject of mockery as well as themselves and society for behaving in those ways." Alexander Pope has been established as an author whose satire "heals with morals what it hurts with wit" (Green).[33] Alexander Pope—and Horatian satire—attempt to teach.

Examples of Horatian satire:

The Ig Nobel Prizes.
Bierce, Ambrose, The Devil's Dictionary.
Defoe, Daniel, The True-Born Englishman.
The Savoy Operas of Gilbert and Sullivan.
Trollope, Anthony, The Way We Live Now.

Juvenalian satire, named for the writings of the Roman satirist Juvenal (late first century – early second century AD), is more contemptuous and abrasive than the Horatian. Juvenal disagreed with the opinions of the public figures and institutions of the Republic and actively attacked them through his literature. "He utilized the satirical tools of exaggeration and parody to make his targets appear monstrous and incompetent" (Podzemny).[34] Juvenal's satire follows this same pattern of abrasively ridiculing societal structures. Juvenal also, unlike Horace, attacked public officials and governmental organizations through his satires, regarding their opinions as not just wrong, but evil.

Following in this tradition, Juvenalian satire addresses perceived social evil through scorn, outrage, and savage ridicule. This form is often pessimistic, characterized by the use of irony, sarcasm, moral indignation and personal invective, with less emphasis on humor. Strongly polarized political satire can often be classified as Juvenalian.

A Juvenal satirist's goal is generally to provoke some sort of political or societal change because he sees his opponent or object as evil or harmful.[35] A Juvenal satirist mocks "societal structure, power, and civilization" (Thomas)[36] by exaggerating the words or position of his opponent in order to jeopardize their opponent's reputation and/or power. Jonathan Swift has been established as an author who "borrowed heavily from Juvenal's techniques in [his critique] of contemporary English society" (Podzemny).[34]

Examples of Juvenalian satire:

Barnes, Julian, England, England.
Beatty, Paul, The Sellout.
Bradbury, Ray, Fahrenheit 451.
Brooker, Charlie, Black Mirror.
Bulgakov, Mikhail, Heart of a Dog.
Burgess, Anthony, A Clockwork Orange.
Burroughs, William, Naked Lunch.

Satire versus teasing
In the history of theatre there has always been a conflict between engagement and disengagement on politics and relevant issue, between satire and grotesque on one side, and jest with teasing on the other.[37] Max Eastman defined the spectrum of satire in terms of "degrees of biting", as ranging from satire proper at the hot-end, and "kidding" at the violet-end; Eastman adopted the term kidding to denote what is just satirical in form, but is not really firing at the target.[38] Nobel laureate satirical playwright Dario Fo pointed out the difference between satire and teasing (sfottò).[39] Teasing is the reactionary side of the comic; it limits itself to a shallow parody of physical appearance. The side-effect of teasing is that it humanizes and draws sympathy for the powerful individual towards which it is directed. Satire instead uses the comic to go against power and its oppressions, has a subversive character, and a moral dimension which draws judgement against its targets.[40][41][42][43] Fo formulated an operational criterion to tell real satire from sfottò, saying that real satire arouses an outraged and violent reaction, and that the more they try to stop you, the better is the job you are doing.[44] Fo contends that, historically, people in positions of power have welcomed and encouraged good-humoured buffoonery, while modern day people in positions of power have tried to censor, ostracize and repress satire.[37][40]

Teasing (sfottò) is an ancient form of simple buffoonery, a form of comedy without satire's subversive edge. Teasing includes light and affectionate parody, good-humoured mockery, simple one-dimensional poking fun, and benign spoofs. Teasing typically consists of an impersonation of someone monkeying around with his exterior attributes, tics, physical blemishes, voice and mannerisms, quirks, way of dressing and walking, and/or the phrases he typically repeats. By contrast, teasing never touches on the core issue, never makes a serious criticism judging the target with irony; it never harms the target's conduct, ideology and position of power; it never undermines the perception of his morality and cultural dimension.[40][42] Sfottò directed towards a powerful individual makes him appear more human and draws sympathy towards him.[45] Hermann Göring propagated jests and jokes against himself, with the aim of humanizing his image.[46][47]

Classifications by topics
Types of satire can also be classified according to the topics it deals with. From the earliest times, at least since the plays of Aristophanes, the primary topics of literary satire have been politics, religion and sex.[48][49][50][51] This is partly because these are the most pressing problems that affect anybody living in a society, and partly because these topics are usually taboo.[48][52] Among these, politics in the broader sense is considered the pre-eminent topic of satire.[52] Satire which targets the clergy is a type of political satire, while religious satire is that which targets religious beliefs.[53] Satire on sex may overlap with blue comedy, off-color humor and dick jokes.

Scatology has a long literary association with satire,[48][54][55] as it is a classical mode of the grotesque, the grotesque body and the satiric grotesque.[48][56] Shit plays a fundamental role in satire because it symbolizes death, the turd being "the ultimate dead object".[54][55] The satirical comparison of individuals or institutions with human excrement, exposes their "inherent inertness, corruption and dead-likeness".[54][57][58] The ritual clowns of clown societies, like among the Pueblo Indians, have ceremonies with filth-eating.[59][60] In other cultures, sin-eating is an apotropaic rite in which the sin-eater (also called filth-eater),[61][62] by ingesting the food provided, takes "upon himself the sins of the departed".[63] Satire about death overlaps with black humor and gallows humor.

Another classification by topics is the distinction between political satire, religious satire and satire of manners.[64] Political satire is sometimes called topical satire, satire of manners is sometimes called satire of everyday life, and religious satire is sometimes called philosophical satire. Comedy of manners, sometimes also called satire of manners, criticizes mode of life of common people; political satire aims at behavior, manners of politicians, and vices of political systems. Historically, comedy of manners, which first appeared in British theater in 1620, has uncritically accepted the social code of the upper classes.[65] Comedy in general accepts the rules of the social game, while satire subverts them.[66]

Another analysis of satire is the spectrum of his possible tones: wit, ridicule, irony, sarcasm, cynicism, the sardonic and invective.[67][68]

The type of humour that deals with creating laughter at the expense of the person telling the joke is called reflexive humour[69].Reflexive humour can take place at dual levels of directing humour at self or at the larger community the self identifies with. The audience's understanding of the context of reflexive humour is important for its receptivity and success [69]. Satire is found not only in written literary forms. In preliterate cultures it manifests itself in ritual and folk forms, as well as in trickster tales and oral poetry.[23]

It appears also in graphic arts, music, sculpture, dance, cartoon strips, and graffiti. Examples are Dada sculptures, Pop Art works, music of Gilbert and Sullivan and Erik Satie, punk and rock music.[23] In modern media culture, stand-up comedy is an enclave in which satire can be introduced into mass media, challenging mainstream discourse.[23] Comedy roasts, mock festivals, and stand-up comedians in nightclubs and concerts are the modern forms of ancient satiric rituals.[23]

Ancient Egypt

One of the earliest examples of what we might call satire, The Satire of the Trades,[70] is in Egyptian writing from the beginning of the 2nd millennium BC. The text's apparent readers are students, tired of studying. It argues that their lot as scribes is not only useful, but far superior to that of the ordinary man. Scholars such as Helck[71] think that the context was meant to be serious.

The Papyrus Anastasi I[72] (late 2nd millennium BC) contains a satirical letter which first praises the virtues of its recipient, but then mocks the reader's meagre knowledge and achievements.

Ancient Greece
The Greeks had no word for what later would be called "satire", although the terms cynicism and parody were used. Modern critics call the Greek playwright Aristophanes one of the best known early satirists: his plays are known for their critical political and societal commentary,[73] particularly for the political satire by which he criticized the powerful Cleon (as in The Knights). He is also notable for the persecution he underwent.[73][74][75][76] Aristophanes' plays turned upon images of filth and disease.[77] His bawdy style was adopted by Greek dramatist-comedian Menander. His early play Drunkenness contains an attack on the politician Callimedon.

The oldest form of satire still in use is the Menippean satire by Menippus of Gadara. His own writings are lost. Examples from his admirers and imitators mix seriousness and mockery in dialogues and present parodies before a background of diatribe. As in the case of Aristophanes plays, menippean satire turned upon images of filth and disease.[77]

Roman world
The first Roman to discuss satire critically was Quintilian, who invented the term to describe the writings of Gaius Lucilius. The two most prominent and influential ancient Roman satirists are Horace and Juvenal, who wrote during the early days of the Roman Empire. Other important satirists in ancient Latin are Gaius Lucilius and Persius. Satire in their work is much wider than in the modern sense of the word, including fantastic and highly coloured humorous writing with little or no real mocking intent. When Horace criticized Augustus, he used veiled ironic terms. In contrast, Pliny reports that the 6th-century-BC poet Hipponax wrote satirae that were so cruel that the offended hanged themselves.[78]

In the 2nd century AD, Lucian wrote True History, a book satirizing the clearly unrealistic travelogues/adventures written by Ctesias, Iambulus, and Homer. He states that he was surprised they expected people to believe their lies, and stating that he, like them, has no actual knowledge or experience, but shall now tell lies as if he did. He goes on to describe a far more obviously extreme and unrealistic tale, involving interplanetary exploration, war among alien life forms, and life inside a 200 mile long whale back in the terrestrial ocean, all intended to make obvious the fallacies of books like Indica and The Odyssey.

Medieval Islamic world
Main articles: Arabic satire and Persian satire
Medieval Arabic poetry included the satiric genre hija. Satire was introduced into Arabic prose literature by the author Al-Jahiz in the 9th century. While dealing with serious topics in what are now known as anthropology, sociology and psychology, he introduced a satirical approach, "based on the premise that, however serious the subject under review, it could be made more interesting and thus achieve greater effect, if only one leavened the lump of solemnity by the insertion of a few amusing anecdotes or by the throwing out of some witty or paradoxical observations. He was well aware that, in treating of new themes in his prose works, he would have to employ a vocabulary of a nature more familiar in hija, satirical poetry."[79] For example, in one of his zoological works, he satirized the preference for longer human penis size, writing: "If the length of the penis were a sign of honor, then the mule would belong to the (honorable tribe of) Quraysh". Another satirical story based on this preference was an Arabian Nights tale called "Ali with the Large Member".[80]

In the 10th century, the writer Tha'alibi recorded satirical poetry written by the Arabic poets As-Salami and Abu Dulaf, with As-Salami praising Abu Dulaf's wide breadth of knowledge and then mocking his ability in all these subjects, and with Abu Dulaf responding back and satirizing As-Salami in return.[81] An example of Arabic political satire included another 10th-century poet Jarir satirizing Farazdaq as "a transgressor of the Sharia" and later Arabic poets in turn using the term "Farazdaq-like" as a form of political satire.[82]

The terms "comedy" and "satire" became synonymous after Aristotle's Poetics was translated into Arabic in the medieval Islamic world, where it was elaborated upon by Islamic philosophers and writers, such as Abu Bischr, his pupil Al-Farabi, Avicenna, and Averroes. Due to cultural differences, they disassociated comedy from Greek dramatic representation and instead identified it with Arabic poetic themes and forms, such as hija (satirical poetry). They viewed comedy as simply the "art of reprehension", and made no reference to light and cheerful events, or troubled beginnings and happy endings, associated with classical Greek comedy. After the Latin translations of the 12th century, the term "comedy" thus gained a new semantic meaning in Medieval literature.[83]

Ubayd Zakani introduced satire in Persian literature during the 14th century. His work is noted for its satire and obscene verses, often political or bawdy, and often cited in debates involving homosexual practices. He wrote the Resaleh-ye Delgosha, as well as Akhlaq al-Ashraf ("Ethics of the Aristocracy") and the famous humorous fable Masnavi Mush-O-Gorbeh (Mouse and Cat), which was a political satire. His non-satirical serious classical verses have also been regarded as very well written, in league with the other great works of Persian literature. Between 1905 and 1911, Bibi Khatoon Astarabadi and other Iranian writers wrote notable satires.

Medieval Europe
In the Early Middle Ages, examples of satire were the songs by Goliards or vagants now best known as an anthology called Carmina Burana and made famous as texts of a composition by the 20th-century composer Carl Orff. Satirical poetry is believed to have been popular, although little has survived. With the advent of the High Middle Ages and the birth of modern vernacular literature in the 12th century, it began to be used again, most notably by Chaucer. The disrespectful manner was considered "unchristian" and ignored, except for the moral satire, which mocked misbehaviour in Christian terms. Examples are Livre des Manières by Étienne de Fougères [fr] (~1178), and some of Chaucer's Canterbury Tales. Sometimes epic poetry (epos) was mocked, and even feudal society, but there was hardly a general interest in the genre.

Early modern western satire

Pieter Bruegel's 1568 satirical painting The Blind Leading the Blind.
Direct social commentary via satire returned with a vengeance in the 16th century, when farcical texts such as the works of François Rabelais tackled more serious issues (and incurred the wrath of the crown as a result).

Two major satirists of Europe in the Renaissance were Giovanni Boccaccio and François Rabelais. Other examples of Renaissance satire include Till Eulenspiegel, Reynard the Fox, Sebastian Brant's Narrenschiff (1494), Erasmus's Moriae Encomium (1509), Thomas More's Utopia (1516), and Carajicomedia (1519).

The Elizabethan (i.e. 16th-century English) writers thought of satire as related to the notoriously rude, coarse and sharp satyr play. Elizabethan "satire" (typically in pamphlet form) therefore contains more straightforward abuse than subtle irony. The French Huguenot Isaac Casaubon pointed out in 1605 that satire in the Roman fashion was something altogether more civilised. Casaubon discovered and published Quintilian's writing and presented the original meaning of the term (satira, not satyr), and the sense of wittiness (reflecting the "dishfull of fruits") became more important again. Seventeenth-century English satire once again aimed at the "amendment of vices" (Dryden).

In the 1590s a new wave of verse satire broke with the publication of Hall's Virgidemiarum, six books of verse satires targeting everything from literary fads to corrupt noblemen. Although Donne had already circulated satires in manuscript, Hall's was the first real attempt in English at verse satire on the Juvenalian model.[84][page needed] The success of his work combined with a national mood of disillusion in the last years of Elizabeth's reign triggered an avalanche of satire—much of it less conscious of classical models than Hall's — until the fashion was brought to an

2023.03.25 01:15 2anglosexual4u Are there any Arctic Monkeys' songs you'd like covered by The Last Shadow Puppets or vice versa?

Like the title says. Any of either band's songs you'd like covered by the other? In the style of any particular AM or TLSP era? E.g. 'My Mistakes Were Made for You' in a humbug/FWN/TBHC style or 'R U Mine' in an EYCTE style.

2023.03.24 23:14 Sonicblaster015 [TOMT][DVD][Early 2000's] Kid's Dvd with Singing Animal Puppets

When I was a like 4 or 5 years old, there was a dvd/dvd's? I used to watch and I know it had 2 main live action puppet animals. One I think was purple and the other orange, one of them being a monkey. I know they sung a lot of songs in it and I think there were people in it too. It's not muppets or sesame street, and I've already looked for it several times. I wish I could remember more but it's a very vague memory.

Ryuu woke in a skin of cold sweat that clung to his body. Lunging forward from a deep sleep, recalling a gruesome end to a cursed dream. His hand reaches out for his trusted blades, sheathed and displayed out next to his cot. His armour is neatly placed at the foot of the hay bed. "Never would have imagined I'd find myself a Samurai," An old crone says from behind Ryuu, he flips around ready to strike. His mind is still on the battlefield. "Easy kid, no need for steel." Another voice says, a rough and striking voice. Almost inhuman. Yet to Ryuu's surprise the voice is from a well groomed man sits cross legged, a well shaped beard and long hair in a knot. He holds the handle of a sword laying on his lap, whilst his other hand taps the sheath of his blade. A gently warning. "Where am I?" Ryuu asks realising he's bandaged up. Tenzu was about to kill him, had it not been for Soaki's fast thinking Ryuu would have been sliced in half. He remembers falling backwards into the cold waters below. Then darkness. "Outside of Towada, some local boys found you in the lake." The man says in a deep voice. "Yukimo is a healer, and I am but her humble errand boy." The man says pointing to the crone. "Half dead, you were. Dripping with the red stuff, and talking in tongues." Yukimo seemingly cackles. "I thank you for my treatment, I have coin." Ryuu says slowly standing. "Keep the coin, though no good to you if you're dead." The man states. "I suggest you rest up, before you go back to whatever it is brought you to us." He adds. "You a swordsman?" Ryuu asks looking at the blade on his lap. "I am an errand boy, this sword belongs to Akira Himinuzaki. He was once a very noble samurai, who was exiled for disobeying the Iron Emperor." The man once known as Akira says. "Heard he was executed." Ryuu questions, as tales of Akira's disobedience was well known. The empire stated that Akira was beheaded on a still spring night under a blood moon. "Akira had friends, helped him leave. He took an oath to the Emperor, a man who carries a broken promise will never walk free again." The man says. "I understand that, we were attacking Tenzu's Iron Cloud. Trying to bring it down for good, before he gets to Edo." Ryuu says remembering more details of his battle. They'd demolished several of his fleet, but Tenzu's personal Iron Cloud was a behemoth of a machine. A death ship built with a thick iron hull and monstrous exhaust pipes that block out the sun. "Who is we? The Empire, fools who worship the Iron Emperor and his Ghost Machine." The crone cries out in a roar of laughter. "No, we are Akuma-no-inu. We don't condone the Empire, but Tenzu is a maniac and a tyrant. He poisons the air with his toxic bloodlust, turning folk against their own." Ryuu says with rage. His own village fell when Tenzu returned from the north. "Well you're gonna need your strength before you go after Tenzu, I fear my old friend Akira has had run-ins with that blade." The man says.
Tenzu Kumuchi had been a loyal member of the Empire, a prodigy swordsman but his skill cut down with sickness. He turned to the criminal Black Iron Smither, Izo Mazomaku. Izo's techniques were forbidden, using dark ritual to create an armour that kept Tenzu alive, and stronger than ever. The emperor's men executed Izo, before he could complete his creation. And banished Tenzu from the island. Whisperers say he spent time in Korea, studying their dark rituals and black smithing techniques. He led their armies and helped them build the Iron Clouds. "He swore he'd have his revenge against the Iron Emperor." The man tells Ryuu, recounting his memories of a younger Tenzu. Ryuu can't imagine it having seen the abomination Tenzu has become. "They call him the Beast Lord Shogun, the Sky Burner. But under the armour is a mortal man." Says the crone, she seems unbothered by the tales of death. "Ignore Yukimo, her mind is beyond the veil. She still remembers Okoomi Tatamaki being Iron Emperor." The man says helping Ryuu stand. The door slides open and a young woman in a kimino enters the hut. "Yin will take care of you, and show you around." The man says. "When you are ready come meet me in the court yard." The man commands. As Ryuu is escorted outside.
"Welcome to Take-no-ōkoku Village," Yin says leading Ryuu by the hand. Ryuu was amazed at the large dome structure built entirely of Devil's Bamboo. A plant that holds the properties of hard steel, only the wisest Steel Smith's use such a material. "I thought this place was just a myth," Ryuu says looking as they use Sun Stones and a Lunar compass to simulate night and day. Clouds of cold steam hover above keeping the air cool, providing artificial weather over the large village. "Many have given their lives to keep it just a myth, but we are definitely real." Yin giggles hiding her smile behind her hand. "According to the Empire, you'd be a considered a hostile kingdom." Ryuu says remembering his childhood in Edo. Though he grew to reject the Iron Empire, he at one point would have given his life for it. "Who isn't an enemy of the Empire, can't say I disagree with Tetsu's plan to destroy them." Yin says. "Trust me, I hate the Empire and I want to bring them down. But not like this." Ryuu says in anger. "I heard of the incident at Aoi Village," Yin says, Ryuu remembers the incident. They walk silently among the fallen cherry blossom. "I imagine you are quite hungry, you were asleep for 3 days." Yin says as they stop by a small restaurant. The smell of freshly fried locust shrimp and eel bird wafted from the interior of the restaurant. The sound of deep laughter and drunken songs was a refreshing change for Ryuu. Too long he'd been among the battle weary, covered in mud and blood. Avoiding near death with the price of steel. Yin offers Ryuu some time to himself and promises to return once her chores are complete.
Inside the tavern a small pit of coal burns away gently. A man in cooking wear tends to the embers and lays out marinated meats over the heat. Patrons of all shape and ages rest around the interior, some armed and others scarred from war. "Damn samurai dog!" A one armed man mutters under his breath as Ryuu enters. "The Isubishi family lost three of their boys, cause of your war." Another voice shouts, all hope of a warm welcome melts away. "You should be ashamed. My husband died in your crossfire." A woman says throwing her warm sake in Ryuu's face. "Stop this at once!" The chef barks from behind his counter. He drives his sharp knife down in to the cutting board, making it stand upright. "So long as he's here, he should be welcomed as my acquitance and dear friend." The chef says. "Thank you, and I'm sorry our war has plagued you. I offer my services to anyone who requests them. Till my debt is paid in full" Ryuu says humbly bowing to the angry woman. Her anger faulters and she begins to feel sorrow, for what she lost. She pushes past Ryuu and leaves. "Pay her no mind, she's just angry. Can't say I blame her." The chef mutters as he goes back to prepping meals. "I carry her burden," Ryuu says firmly, the chef is humbled by young man's commitment to the woman. "Unless you were the one who decapitated her husband don't bother, she hated him" the chef abruptly laughs. "Only reason she's pissed is cause she didn't get chance to gut that lying bastard herself." He adds slamming his huge knife down on a piece of Sakana-no-tori, it tears through the scaly flesh like fresh cotton. "Was he so monstrous he deserved death?" Ryuu asks taking a sip from his cup. Ice cold Sake, his lips tingle and his mouth entranced by the flavour of Spring. "Probably not, but he was a lousy husband, an shitter dad, and an even worse brother." The chef confesses to Ryuu, he lifts his clothing by his waist and reveals a large scar on his hip. "Brothers can be complicated," Ryuu says looking at the silken scar. He's reminded of his own brother, the spoilt prince. "Well I was never one to hold a grudge, may look bad but nothing a few cups of sake to accompany a good meal can't fix." The chef says as he takes some of the meat of the Sakana-no-tori and mixes it together with jade beans and rice before wrapping it with nori. Pulling it tightly into a roll. "Have you always been a chef?" Ryuu asks recognising a certain demeanor about the chef. "No, I fought back in the last imperial war. Was damn good as well, I had got to the rank of Hand Swordsman." The chef says, a rank just below General. "Who was your banner?" Ryuu asks. "Kytomozo of Hogun Province," says the chef proudly, effortless slicing up the freshly rolled sushi. Ryuu knows the clan well, a honourable family sworn to protect the Kyojin no kokoro mountain. A sacred place said to hold the soul of a three eyed demon. Ryuu's father lord Goji Oginawa, had been loyal to the Kytomozo clan. Ever since they helped defeat an Omen that plagued their village. He taps some wazabi on a plate and places the sushi on top. "I was offered discharge after my wife fell ill, I had served well and got a decent payout. So I set up here, to care for my wife and keep us going." Explains the chef. "Is she okay now?" Ryuu asks. "Well she has Desutatchi curse, every day she fades a little more." The chef explains. Desutatchi is a death curse. It inflicts people by slowly turning them into a ghost. Rumour has it, that it impacts those that cross paths with a white banshee. "Is there nothing can be done?" Asks Ryuu, many villages have shamans and healers. "Tried everything I can without going bankrupt, hired a witcheater a while back but he turned out to be a fraud." The chef says with a harmed pride. Ryuu had little experience dealing with monsters, other than the odd Kamapari or Drugr. "How much did he charge?" Ryuu asks.
That night Ryuu prayed and meditated until the early hours of the following morning. He walked the grounds burning incense and planting hallow seeds. A small ritual to help guide him. Having donned his armour, he prepares for battle. Drinking Uzshroom tea he sharpens his mind, his muscles ached for a fight. Then he hears the distant wails of a unearthly creature. Something that haunts the local river. By paper lantern he travelled deeper into the woods, something the chef advised greatly against. Pushing through the thick plant growth he came to the bank, a woman in white robes waited for him by the water's edge. Definitely a spirit of some sort. He wiped his blade with black mountain oil, and lights it with the spark of a nearby rock. The woman in white turns, her elegant features twist into a nightmarish creature of sharp teeth and oozing red mist. "Easy there you, let's figure this out." A voice in a strange accent says from edge of the trees. Ryuu can only make out the likeness of a mantis-monkey. Hunched down in the duff, the creature with elongated arms and long sharp fingers watches the lone samurai intently. This one isn't like other mantis-monkeys, no pale white fur or humanoid looking face. Just black on black fur, fur that wriggles upward like dancing flame. The odd mantis-monkey, on an even stranger twist, this mantis-monkey has a third eye vertically in its forehead. "Step away, and I'll make it worth your while." The mantis-monkey says getting closer. "This does not concern you mortal!" The creature says it's three crimson eyes burning. Ryuu takes his eyes off of the mantis-monkey that is trying to convince him to leave, instead looking at the attrocity that was once a woman in white. The creature is held back but could rip Ryuu apart with just one swipe. "Don't worry about my child here, she's just adjusting to this new world." The stranger says in its animal skin. "I do not trust you," Ryuu says keeping his blade poised and ready to strike. All he needs is one successful strike, a well timed sweep and his enemy is done. But this wasn't a creature from this world, and Ryuu had heard rumours. Of the Undying Travellers. "This creature has caused suffering to the people in the nearby village." Ryuu says as the mantis-monkey moves forward. "And they cause suffering, and you cause suffering, we all do. Think of the bigger picture, my child here can dawn you a new age. An age powered by this" the mantis-monkey holds out it's three fingered paw and from its palm a blue black flame, one that glimmers like oil. A rainbow shine over the surface of the flame. The air grows cold and the wind begins to howl, the flame only grows. Ryuu feels compelled to accept the flame as his own.
Ryuu would accept the flame, and become a monstrous puppet for the creature. But the creature would allow Ryuu to finish his mission. A battle utop an iron cloud would see the fall of Tenzu's men, as Ryuu carves the men before him in half. Feeding the desires of the dark creature that aids him. The helipilots would offer artillery to bring the iron cloud down, hitting it's iron hull with rockets. Ignoring the chaos around him, Ryuu would fight Tenzu atop of the Captain's watch. Ryuu would win, and show no mercy Beheading Tenzu whilst he mocked the young samurai. And for Ryuu his mission was accomplished. However the creature's plans would be just in their beginnings. Ryuu sees his body act of its own will, becoming an instrument of death and decay. Chaos and power. Without any way of stopping it, more and more of Ryuu would become lost. The creature would take everything. It gift turning into a curse. Eventually Ryuu would prove no longer useful to the creature, and left. The was infamous samurai who ended the rebellion became nothing but another insane old man. Corrupted and unable to die.
Ryuu's hand hovers just above the flame, about to accept the offer. His fingers gently touching the surface of the flame. Like entering a hot pool on a cold day. Ryuu's body felt more power than ever before, having visions of all the potential. "All you have to do is accept," the creature says it's third eye glowing. What was once the lady in white stomps forward making the earth shake. Long twisted limbs smash against the earth below, a jaw made of sharp teeth. Ryuu looks at the attrocity, that still looks ready to pounce. He thinks of getting Tenzu, and his comrades. Could they do it without him. Ryuu takes in the strength of the flame one last time. Then pulling his hand away, putting both hands on his sword. The mantis-monkey jumps away and scowls. "You made the wrong choice." It says before disappearing. The monster made from the lady in whites form, snaps forward and Ryuu lunges. Aiming for its throat, but the creature catches Ryuu. He drops his sword and falls to his knees, the body of the woman in white slumps forward on to him. She looks peaceful compared to the monster she'd become. Her life is faint, as is Ryuu's. Yet he tries to remain calm and strong so the woman might die peacefully. He looks up and thinks about the Iron Clouds over Bamboo kingdoms, and smiles for the last time. Leaving their fates to Mesmir.

2023.03.24 10:32 Flof0w0 Living with a family in a country that have different cultures from me makes me want to get my own life

Hello from Cambodia, I’m 16 years old. Some of you may already heard about or had read about my burden before. But today and yesterday I wanted to going gental into that good night forever sleeps. Because life of someone like me who’s more on a modern side that lives in a backwards primitive country surrounded with monkeys…( mind you they have no idea how microwave works…even to flush a toilet ) is just really irritating and frustrating. I was born in a city and was living in it till today and to me I thought I was lucky…till I met the internet and see the world in a bigger perspective. And I felt in sock and sick for months to years. I don’t feel like most people nowadays would understand this burden that I’m having everyday. Everyday waking up is always a new nightmare, and everynight is the same dream. Sometimes doing the right things feels like a criminal to yourself in this harsh environment…if you’re not going to do it for yourself who would do it for you ? Life in nature have one thing is that the big fish eats the small fish and the small fish eats another small things, that’s how life works in my environment because everyone is a product of nature…well that’s how life works right ? Till it’s your own parents. The society that I’m in is all nothing but a mindless sheep and the politicians are just a tall glass of nothing. School that I went to and now got kicked out because I asked for help to, the school system is corrupted full with all puppet staff and bad corporations. I wish I can be in school…but not this one, I wish I could learn but not misinformation. People tell me to go and be with nature, well where is it ? In my country nature is not a thing anymore, there are only rice filed and dystopian concrete infrastructure. I have more to say but I don’t think anyone would understand so I just keep it for now. But tell me how can I live when there is nothing to live for ? Live for what ? For those things that I just mentioned ? Sometimes I feel like death is the only answers..I mean what else can I do ? Things had already happened, I just want to fix this but I can’t so death is the only way…the solution to all the problems. I tried my best. I asked for help…to get myself away from them, to call the police on them, to look for ways to get out of the country I’m in, therapy. I’m just trying my best. So please don’t blame me when I’m gone…the reason why because I love myself SO MUCH till the point where I just don’t want to live…to avoid the pain. I’m only 15…I need help but no one is helping…so please once I’m gone let the world know that I had made the right decision…let the world know that I had been FAILED by this world. 2023.03.23 22:34 Karmanacht An update to our policy on bigotry

For future reference, this list will be maintained in our wiki here:
In this submission, we affirm that we stand with BLM, LGBTQ+, and other disparaged groups. Therefore, after consulting with multiple organizations who are active and knowledgeable on these topics, we are further formalizing and clarifying Rule 8.
The purpose of this post is to provide common examples of bigotry upon which we, as therewasanattempt moderators, will take action. Please keep in mind that we will not be debating these topics individually, but you are more than welcome to head to socialjustice101 to either ask in good faith about these topics, or, if you are already familiar with them, to educate others.
This list is non-exhaustive, may be updated frequently, and is applicable to moderator discretion

against African Americans or black people in general:

black crime statistics, "black on black violence"
any variation on "despite being 13% of the population, black people commit 50% of the violent crime" <- this is literally a copypasta/meme created by the white supremacist website, Stormfront. Variations include: "13 do 50, 13/50, the 13%, DESPITE" (
victim blaming especially after rape or death (not exclusive to racism) (examples: "[x person] should have just cooperated with the police", "she shouldn't have worn that", "well they committed a crime in the past")
referring to black people as animals, specifically apes/monkeys
"what if you said this about black people instead of white people!" or trying to switch races (this is absolutely an apples-to-oranges comparison. Life isn't a chessboard that you can simply rotate the board and have gameplay be effectively the same)
"all lives matter"
"white lives matter"
dindu nuffin or variations, thugs, "he was a good boy", "he was going to college", joggers, naggers, "people who annoy you", hood rat, "ghetto"
white pride/power or equating black/asian/gay pride with white pride
just posting the letter "N" to start an askouija style attempt to create a slur
"affirmative action is racist against white people"
"black people only get into college due to affirmative action"
"diversity hires"
"racism (systemic or otherwise) doesn't exist"
"upvoted because black"
3/5 jokes
IQ stats (more affected by general health, nutrition, parents' education level etc than race)
Bix Nood
"never relax"
black lives splatteBurn Loot Murder
advocating running over protesters (this is also advocating violence, a TOS violation)
"BLM is a terrorist organization"
sarcastically saying "BLM"
stupid comments about "culture"
arguing that white people should be allowed to use the N word

global bankers, bankers
oy vey, goyim, the goyim know
hollywood references
3 parentheses, "echoes"
that comic with the guy rubbing his hands together ("happy merchant")
holocaust denialism
"The Jew cries out in pain as he strikes you"
"people are reading" some particular supremacist book
in general, making assumptions about specific people based on racist views about the group or mocking something disparaging about the group as a whole:
Indian people: "must have been an arranged marriage", "designated shitting streets", "Indian rape culture", "superpower by 2020"
Muslim person in the picture: "terrorist", "religion of peace", "islam is right about women", "rag head, towel head"
Native American/Indigenous person: "alcoholic", "smallpox blankets"
Asian people: "Koreans eat dogs/cats", "china-virus"/"wuhan flu"/"kung flu", "slanty eyes"

"there are only two genders"
"I identify as an attack helicopter" (or anything else patently absurd)
suggesting Michelle Obama is a man
intentionally misgendering a trans person
referring to being trans as a "mental illness"
suicide statistics/"40%"
"transwomen aren't women"/"transmen aren't men"
use of "tranny"/"trap"
decrying children having reassignment surgery (this is already illegal in most countries)
"did you just assume my gender?!"
emphasizing regret after transitioning
use of "biological male" or "biological female". The term is cis male or cis female.
anything about transitioning to become better at sports, or "men have a biological advantage"
"troon", "mental illness", "groomer", "indoctrinating children", "you'll never be a real woman"
intentionally deadnaming a trans person, which means using their old name over their new one
idiotic baiting about "what is a woman".

"women belong in the kitchen"
"the gender pay gap is a myth"
"equal rights and equal lefts"
"upvoted because boobs"
posting that comic which says women have to include themselves in their photos
criticizing only women when they have included themselves in their photos of art
"don't be such a girl"
"should have kept heyour legs shut" on the topic of abortion, financial issues, or other similar issues
abortion: "baby killer", "abortion is murder" or conflating abortion with actual murder, "slut"/slut shaming
infantilization: e.g. referring to a woman/women as "little girl(s)", or other intentionally demeaning and condescending terms

equating pedophilia to homosexuality
"bundle of sticks" (Almost no one on reddit is an etymologist. They're only using this phrase because it's the same origin as the f-word)
puking emoji with no other context than a gay wedding or pride parade etc
"upvoted because gay"
"being gay is a sin"/"see you in hell"
"fake and gay" and otherwise using "gay" as a pejorative or negative
"groomer", "indoctrinating children", "lifestyle", "sin"

ableism based bigotry

"you're only good for stump porn"

general incivility

this is just basically name-calling or personal attacks aimed at a specific user. Examples: "you idiot", "you moron", "you dumbass"
This list is non-exhaustive, may be updated frequently, and is applicable to moderator discretion
Many users have argued that facts cannot be racist, which is true. However, much of what is purported to be factual is actually twisted by inherent racism. For example, the assertion that black people commit more violent crime than white people is false: In fact, black people are arrested/convicted for violent crime more often than white people. The statistic does not represent a fact-based commentary on a racial proclivity; it represents a way in which systemic racism has unfairly maligned a historically marginalized portion of the population.
Furthermore, even objective facts can be presented in a manner that promotes (or is promoted by) a racist agenda. It may be factual to state that a given entertainer is Jewish, for instance, but if that point is being raised as a means of insinuating something anti-Semitic, it is nonetheless an example of bigotry. Statements of this sort are referred to as "dog-whistles;" as coded phrases that are ostensibly based in fact, but which are being presented with bad-faith intentions.
Dog-whistles, implied bigotry, and memetic phrases with bigoted subtexts are all forbidden in /ThereWasAnAttempt. Please note that there's a different between attacking a disparaged group who cannot change how they were born, and attacking memberships of groups (e.g. saying "ACAB" is not bigotry. Cops can quit, black people can't stop being black).
Civil criticism of religion, governments, and groups/organizations are fully permitted. Veiled attacks that are instead meant to target and attack a nation/race of people that practice these faiths, is forbidden.
If you don't understand some of the reasons behind these additions, that's ok. Many people are at different points on their path to education, and everyone should treat it as a process vice a destination. We encourage users to head over to socialjustice101 to either ask about specific points or to explain them to other users if you do understand. We won't be debating these here or in modmail as that's not a debate forum.
Thank you for reading

2023.03.23 19:15 HerbziKal THE CREW HAVE SPOKEN! Based on community feedback, we have implemented a new flair, "AI Creation", for AI generated artwork and text. To encourage people to use this flair, as well as all the others, there is a new rule in place asking all users to flair their posts from the following options...

UPDATE in response to the backlash for "legitimizing AI posts"... to be clear, the whole point of creating the AI flair and requiring people to use it was so users can filter out the AI posts on platforms that allow it, should they wish to. To assist with this, I have worked out how to create flair filter buttons that remove all AI Creation posts, and have placed these in the sidebar of old reddit and new reddit. There are also buttons for removing Meme posts, and AI Creation and Meme posts. These only work in desktop mode, and even then the new reddit version works better than the old version, as in old reddit the UI of the page is interfered with slightly after filtering, but they are at least something! For mobile users... the buttons don't work in the official Reddit app. There are third party apps that have similar functionalities however, so you may wish to switch platforms to better suit your needs.
Anyway, here is the flair list:
Secret of MI
Monkey Island 2
Curse of MI
Escape from MI
Tales of MI
Return to MI
AI Creation

2023.03.23 06:00 Technique005 28 [M4F] Washington/Online – Looking for a player 2

I am 28, White/Egyptian, and recent Masters graduate, working as a health admin. Things are pretty simple with a few interesting tales. Known to say something witty or silly from time to time. I also enjoy cooking and baking whenever I have time, the mood and have the right ingredients.
I am here to look for an intimate long-term relationship, someone just to be close with and play or watch video games together. My free time usually is a lot of different video games (I am currently playing some FFXIV and bunch of PC games!) and I like streaming it on discord just to chat or chill for a bit. I enjoy sharing memes, talking about fun and interesting experiences or enjoy just being alone together.
I listen to a wide variety of music and try to squeeze in some podcasts, tv shows or anime whenever things aren’t too busy. I enjoy just about anything, but I can help list some interests to get an idea of what I am into: Artic Monkeys, Clannad, Jujutsu Kaisen, Carpenter brut, TWRP, Stardew Valley, Phasmophobia, Inscrpytion, Age of empires, The Adventure Zone, Code Geass, Way of the wind and much more as you get to know me.
I do like to send words of affirmation and enjoy sending good morning and good night texts. I am introverted, but I do my best to be honest with my feelings and communicate things as clear as possible, Voice calls are preferred whenever possible so we can watch a stream or talk while we play together. I am willing to work to whatever you feel comfortable with as we get to know each other. Feel free to message me for a discord handle (or yours) and let me know what you are looking for and we can go from there :) (please send a PM as am really bad with chat messages)

2023.03.22 11:29 RealBossoskin [REQUEST][Steam] Resident Evil 4 Remake

In my restless dreams... Oh wait that's the wrong franchise xDD

Hello GiftofGames!!!
Today I am making this post in hopes of getting a game called Resident Evil 4 Remake, a Remake of one of my all time favorite games and definitely my favorite RE game. I will try not to make this post too long but there are some things I wanna go over so that everyone reading this post can understand how much I actually love this entire franchise, Horror as a genre and Video Games overall.

Horror is comforting

My favorite genre in Video Games, Movies, Books, Manga and pretty much everything is Horror. One of the first movies I have ever watched was the original "Scream" and "The Ring" (2002) (Scream has remained my favorite Horror movie of all time!!). Last year I also started reading Horror Mangas with my favorite Manga writteartist being Junji Ito, and if that name is familiar to you it is probably because he was attached to the now canceled P.T. a.k.a. Silent Hills.
Maybe it's because I started watching those movies at a very young age, but Horror movies have always been my favorite genre and it's been no different with Video Games. My favorite game of all time is no other than Silent Hill 2, a game that I consider to be completely flawless and have finished it so many times that I have lost count by now!! Actually, my entire Steam account is Horror themed with lot's of gifs, Screenshots and Horror games.
I would love to hear what's your favorite scary movie? ;)

Resident Evil 4 redefined Gaming forever

Every Third Person over-the-shoulder game owes everything to RE4. What Capcom managed to make with RE4 on Gamecube is nothing short of spectacular. Game being ported on pretty much every platform imaginable just proves how much general public loved and enjoyed re-playing this game over and over again.
Gameplay was smooth and responsive. There were so many unlockables and juuust the right amount of collectibles that made every playthrough fresh and enjoyable. Being able to unlock different Weapons and Outfits was something that made me keep coming back to replay this game whenever I had nothing else to play.
The cheesy humor was definitely done well in RE4, there were so many hilarious moments that fans have been making memes of for decades now. I mean there is literally a character in the game called Big Cheese!!
I hope I haven't been ranting here for too long... Wait, where is everyone going? Bingo? ;)

RE4R Demo is out

So, a while back Capcom actually released RE4R Demo on Steam and Consoles and the reason why I haven't played it for more than like 20 minutes or so is because I wanted to experience everything fresh when I get to play the full and complete game. I wanted to avoid it completely but being as weak as I am... I had to at least try it out. (x_x)
Gameplay, Atmosphere, Graphics and Character animations and dialogues were so well done. The reviews were not lying when they called this game a masterpiece!!
Something that I feared about this Remake was them missing out on that perfect atmosphere at the very beginning, when you get to control Leon for the first time. You enter that deep creepy forest, with little to no ambient sound with just one house at the end of the road and a single pistol hand. This perfect setup and feeling of loneliness is what drew me into this game completely when I played it for the first time. They managed to make you immersed into the game completely just with that first impression. And you know what they say about first impressions... ;)

I got all Achievements on RE2R and RE4

As you probably know, RE4 is a direct sequel to RE2 with many characters returning and this is the first time we got to see Leon after everything that has happened to him in RE2. There two games are actually my two favorite games in the entire franchise, I have played them and finished them numerous amount of times and overtime managed to get all of the Achievements for both of them!! (Which you can see on my Steam account and by clicking on link above).
RE4 also has my favorite Save Room theme out of all of the RE games titles "Serenity".

Why I can't afford it?

Okay let's talk about this now... Since I have lot's of games on my Steam account, it would make sense for me to be able to afford RE4R for myself right? Well... 60$ is actually a pretty big price for me. Only time when I can get a game or two for myself is when they are on sale and strictly only when they are on sale. I have never been able to buy a game that expensive since 60$ is like 1/4th of my total income.
If I do get this game gifted to me, I can assure you that I will spend lots of time playing it. The last game I got gifted here on this sub was Horizon Zero Dawn and I ended up playing it for 63h~ and I also got all of the Achievements for this game as well!! That's how much I value every game I got gifted here and money that people spend on those same games.
Even you, the reader, making it all the way down here to the very end of my post means a lot to me. I have tried including every important detail without making this post too big and long so to everyone taking the time of their lives and reading through everything I have one big THANK YOU to all of you!! I’m sure you boys didn’t just read all this so we can sing Kumbaya together at some boy scout bonfire.
ALSO BEFORE YOU LEAVE, I got a question for ya: What is your favorite Resident Evil game?
