2023.03.30 19:36 silentsly Places to seek shelter for tomorrow?

My fiancé and I will be visiting STL this weekend. Our train gets in tomorrow around noon and we’ll be picking up a rental car. We have a few hours to kill before we go to my fiancés sisters house in Arnold, but we noticed that the weather is going to be nasty while we’re exploring the city. Does anyone have recommendations for places to seek shelter (or really just to hang out in) while the storm passes?

Unable to find this particular weather stripping for exterior patio French doors.. help please!!
I have attached photos of the two types of weather stripping I’m looking for (for two exterior French doors). One goes all around the sides (labeled side), the other is along the bottom (labeled bottom). Does anyone have ideas as to what this particular type may be called and where I can find it? Thank you!!

2023.03.30 19:35 Adept_Mortgage_8579 Work in Progress

I (32F) manage a warehouse for a manufacturer of drill rigs in a fairly rural area but industrial area. I have a friend (32M) who manages a warehouse for an electrical distributer in the same area.
Earlier this week I had an employee become disgruntled. He was upset about some federal regulations that we need to adhere to, but documentation has slipped through the cracks, and we are just catching. (Nothing bad has happened.) When I informed him of these bits of information we needed, basically a physical, and a negative UA, he said that we needed to have a private conversation. I said ok, let me get a few things handled and then we can talk. In the meantime, my safety rep hands him all his paperwork needed for these couple of tasks.
Well, this employee packs up all of his belongings, clocks out, and angerly demands to meet me outside. Then proceeds to yell at me for 35 minutes about how horrible it is to work here, how I pick on him, and show favoritism to the other employees, and that he's going to call our HR department. At first, I wanted to defend myself but by the end of it I was just letting him rant. I provided the numbers to HR and my bosses and sent this employee home for the day. I also called my boss to inform him of the situation. I also asked other members of my team (privately of course) if they felt the same, including this employee's partner. All answered "No". So, I was completely taken aback by this outburst.
I cannot count how many times I have gone to bat for this employee. Sick leave, random call ins, personal issues, using a company vehicle while his was in the shop for repairs, defending the friendships he has made at work, and so on. I would do the same for the entire crew. I provide lunch and breakfast at minimum once a month for my crew. I went out of my way to get them new hoodies and jackets at the beginning of the year. All that I ask is that parts are received, put a way, picked, and shipped correctly. It's not hard and our volume to employee ratio is low. Nor do I threaten them if something is amiss. Afterall, their performance is a direct reflection of me. I maintain an open-door policy. However, we do work in the worst weather conditions, and some of our material is stored outside. He and 1 female coworker are the designated yard techs.
The next day he is at work and not quite himself but back to his usual respectful manner of addressing me and his coworkers. All good.
I get a phone call from my friend later that afternoon. "Do you know J? Does he work for you?" "Yep, he sure does." Turns out this employee went home and filled out job applications and is unaware of the connection there. My friend is going to interview this employee but is not going to hire him. I just hope this employee is not going to say anything dumb about me to my friend. That won't go over well.

2023.03.30 19:33 SonMakishi Request for Advice - never used a red dot, looking for decent start/budget model (under $300).

Hey there. I've never used a red dot before but keep hearing I should try one. I have a very short Trek22 build for Backcountry trekking, and want something good for rapid, close shot placement - not precision target shooting. I'd say 50 yards or less, so no magnification is needed. I have a dedicated field target gun, but my Trek22 is definitely not that. This is a practical backpack gun to help discourage any Backcountry pests. Light, small, fast, rugged/durable since it'll get knocked around while trekking.
Anyone have recommendations they can share? Like I said, I've never used one, never owned one and don't really know what to look for. Any and all help is appreciated.
My thoughts: 1. lightweight, trekking is on foot 2. Rugged, it'll get banged around, snagged on limbs, encounter weather, etc. 3. Wide field of view? 4. visible in daytime, not blinding at night 5. Long run time, no replacement batteries out back, but I could take a spare set if needed. 6. Pic rail mount. 7. Other?

2023.03.30 19:31 Possible-Ad6160 how many sprays of cologne should i be wearing? strong fragrances dont last long

I wear 5 sprays of spice bomb extreme at school but it doesn't seem to last long, or project for long. It only lasts for about 1 hour and a half to 2 hours of projection then it dies down a lot, and you cant smell it on me unless you're sniffing me. Idk if it's because of the weather, i live in canada so it's really dry and cold, but none of my "really strong" fragrances last.

2023.03.30 19:30 TheDayManAhAhAh First ski season, what's I-70 traffic like this time of year?

My friend will be in town Saturday and is not happy about me wanting to wake up at 4:30. I figured this time of year is where ski traffic really dies down but I'm not sure.
Obviously any weather event or accident can mess things up but what could I typically expect for this weekend?

2023.03.30 19:30 StepwiseUndrape574 Alledged GTA 6 Beta Tester Dishes A Ton Of Details In Latest Leak

Time sure flies, doesn't it? We are about to ring in a brand new year, and as we do so, the release of Grand Theft Auto V is now more than six years old (and is fast approaching five years on PC). Given the time that has elapsed, it is certainly possible (maybe even plausible) that Rockstar Games is deep in development on Grand Theft Auto VI. To that end, a supposed QA tester claims to have the skinny on the next installment.
We should preface this information with a disclaimer. There is no way of knowing if the supposed QA tester is what the person claims to be, or if any of the leaked details are accurate. All we know is that it's been a long time since the last Grand Theft Auto gaming (though Grand Theft Auto Online has been receiving continued updates and support).
What is interesting about the situation, though, is the anonymous source first posted the leak on Reddit, and it was removed by the moderators. It's not clear if perhaps Rockstar Games pressured the mods to take down the content. All that said, let's jump into it.
The folks at Dexerto managed to preserve the post. According to the original poster, the map in GTA VI is "huge" and covers to major cities, those being Carcer City and Vice City. Carcer City is based on Boston, and Vice City is based on Miami.
According to the leaker, GTA V is a "schoolyard playground" compared to the massive map in GTA VI. The leakers says Rockstar Games improved the weather effects and polished things up, borrowing from its experience on Red Dead Redemption 2.
"The map is huge, like stupendously huge, hence the game's emphasis on air travel. It makes GTA 5 look like a schoolyard playground. There is an array of atmospheric effects that bring out the life in everything. Light pollution, hurricane winds, morning fog, etc. I've never seen an open world game this realistic before," the leaker wrote.
Grand Theft Auto V Plane and Traine
Assuming all that is accurate, it would be a good opportunity to inject real-time ray tracing into the mix, though there is no mention of that. Instead, the focus is on the size of the map. The leaker says it's so big that it's "a little awkward traveling from Boston to Miami," in part because there are no other major cities in between them, in the game. Expect a lot of air travel, if that's the case.
The leaker also says GTA VI will again put players in control of multiple characters, just like in GTA V. One of the protagonists is said to be "an undercover cop or something," and other might possibly be a sibling. In addition, the leaker says Rockstar Games "complete revamped" the mission design.
"You can permanently abandon some missions or take different routes that sprout different consequences," the leaker says.
For more supposed details, you can check out this screen capture on Imgur, uploaded by another Reddit user (Colonize-Mars).

How Acupuncture Can Redefine How Menopause Feels

Ah, menopause — that time in your life when you say goodbye to your reproductive years and embark on a new journey. For some lucky women, this transition is a smooth one. For others, the sudden drop in hormones leads to years of hot flashes, night sweats, depression, and more. Most women fall somewhere in between and grapple with unwelcome changes that can impact their quality of life.
While there’s no “cure” for the inevitable transition of menopause, we can smooth your way forward through acupuncture. At Soul Potential Acupuncture and Wellness, Vonda Muncy treats a wide range of conditions using this ancient practice with great success. From back pain to the symptoms of menopause, acupuncture has a place in almost every area of your health and wellness.
Here’s a look at how acupuncture can redefine how menopause feels.
The price of menopause
Menopause is the transition that women make from their reproductive years to their nonreproductive years. Unfortunately, what precipitates this transition — the shutting down of your ovaries — comes with a sudden drop in your female hormones, namely estrogen and progesterone. And some women experience moderate-to-severe reactions to this sudden deficit.
While women experience menopause differently, most experience some degree of one or more of the following:
  • Hot flashes
  • Night sweats
  • Vaginal dryness
  • Thinning tissue and hair
  • Sleep problems
  • Weight gain
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Memory problems
As you can see by this list, menopause can have a serious impact on your quality of life, especially if your symptoms are severe and unrelenting.
Redefining menopause
Traditionally, doctors have treated menopause either symptomatically or through hormone replacement therapy, which comes with some risk. If you’d rather approach your symptoms holistically and naturally, acupuncture is an incredibly effective solution.
Acupuncture has been practiced for millennia and the principle behind the technique is that by releasing your qi, or energy, your body has the freedom to function as it should. The human body has incredible healing resources within, and our goal is to free up these resources so that they can flow more freely and do what they’re supposed to do — maintain your overall wellness.
To do this, we place tiny, sterile needles along certain acupuncture points to restore balance and flow within your body. These needles are designed to dismantle blockages along your energy pathways and also communicate with your brain, encouraging the release of neurotransmitters and endorphins.
When it comes to menopause, one study in Denmark found that acupuncture helped improve the symptoms of menopause in 80% of women. While the study was focused on hot flashes alone, researchers report that participants also experienced a considerable decline in night sweats, sleep problems, emotional symptoms, and skin and hair issues.
If you’re struggling with menopause, contact our office in Castle Rock, Colorado, to explore how acupuncture can help you enjoy this new stage of your life.
