Not medical advice, not a doc.
Hi, I am an Asian Male, age 27. eGFR 95, discovered proteinuria 4+ level in 2019(eGFR was 117 back then). Been taking 25mg losartan daily since 2022 March - no proteinuria thanks to it.
However, whenever I workout, the very urine after the workout session would have some protein in it , usually 2+ or 3+. I know this because I use dip sticks every time.
But, I have discovered that since I went vegan, I do not see any protein after the workout session. All workouts are of same duration ( I cap each session to 1 hour MAX), and of similar intensity.
I am 2 weeks into being a vegan and I have seen no proteinuria since then after workout. I also do not feel the kidney pain I seldom felt whenever I ate meat or salty foods. Personally, beef gave me the worst pain.
This experience is compatible with some research studies that show the benefits of plant based diet for kidney patients.
I want to share good videos but MODS would remove my post if I do cuz they think I'm advertising so too bad.
I am not a doc, but my intuition (and dip stick) tells me this really works. Hence, I am going full vegan til I die. Additionally, a vegan diet is optimal for Testosterone level, inflammation level and overall health.
If I were to imagine I have a daughter with severe CKD, and I were to die tomorrow, I would tell her "Go Vegan".
Please try it out for yourself, even just 3 days.

My AP scores are lacking big time so I am studying hard to hopefully get all 5s. Similarly for my Awards, does anybody have any advice to receive awards that are computer science base? Because all of them that I find are coding competitions and unfortunately i suck at those (trauma from 9th grade USACO training). Also, ik the SAT is weighted much more from the past years as TO applicants rise so having a good score makes your stand out more, that is my goal.

2023.03.29 10:30 FrankWhiteKingofNY3 Thoughts on party system being removed from Dreadwolf [da4 spoilers] [leak]

So it’s been nearly confirmed through the leaks that you can’t directly control party members and also that the party size is likely 3 and not 4.
I read some guy from BioWare come out and say that he thought controlling party members and a party size of 4, “wasn’t in the DNA of the franchise”. Am I the only one that thought that statement was completely delusional or even borderline insane?
Okay so Dreadwolf will be a different game, maybe closer to a hack and slash. I might love it, I definitely will like it and play it to death just because it’s a Dragon Age game.
But I am a little concerned that they seem to be making absolutely insane statements about the party system. I mean the party system is great. Its also been the foundation of every DA game so far. So yes I would say that it is in the DNA of the game BioWare…It’s what makes the game so dynamic to play especially on nightmare.
I think that they are possibly moving Dragon Age’s gameplay closer to Mass Effect so that the party members are handy but they are not critical to victory. In ME2 Having Miranda with good abilities will help you, but if she goes down you can still win.
In DA:O on nightmare, using your party members manually is most of the time the only way to achieve success. For example, going into the Deep Roads on Nightmare…If Wynne went down I was f***ed. Even if one of my DPS went down, it would often leave me short of firepower and I’d get overwhelmed. Teamwork was essential and the party had to be designed so it fought better as a unit than the individuals did on their own.
My party was usually:
Warden: great tank but couldn’t do enough damage to kill enemies quickly
Wynne: great healer and defensive buffs, but squishy
Sten: extremely high 2H damage, but slow attacks and went down if ganged up on
Zevran: high duel wield damage and dominant abilities + poison, but very squishy
The party members all had glaring weaknesses but when combined they annihilated most enemy groups with ease.
Looks like Dreadwolf is different and I’ll definitely miss the old system despite whatever new innovations they bring to the table. Making party choices less important makes the game less dynamic in the end.

Palace Resorts offers a few different kind of credits, to help pay for various services that the resorts offer. Resort credits are valid at all Palace Resorts and Le Blanc branded properties.

Types of credit

There are currently four different types of credits and benefits that you may encounter at Palace Resorts.
  1. Spa Credits
  2. Resort Credits
  3. Free House Tours
  4. Universal Credits

Spa Credits

As the name implies, spa credits may be used in the spa. They may also be used in the salon. Examples of services that may be paid for include:
Whenever spa credits are used, a 16% service fee is charged to the room. This must be paid at checkout, and is normally charged to the credit card on file. If guest happens to have Universal Credits - though this is very rare - the service fees may be paid for with those.
Spa credits are actually a part of the resort credit package that you receive when you book your stay through a Diamond member, or when a VIP member uses their own membership to stay. Contracts vary, but in general, a certain percentage of the total resort credits may be used in the spa during the each stay. This is always 50% or less. For example, if you book through a Diamond member and stay for 5 days, you will receive $1,500 in credits. It is common that half of these credits may be used in the spa. Therefore it is likely that $750 of these may be used in the spa, and the rest can be used towards other purchases that the resort offers.
Unfortunately, neither the Palace Resorts app nor the Le Blanc app properly reports available credits. It is up to the tours desk to let you know the amount of available spa credits.
Note that some resorts include Hydrotherapy at the spa, and it is always free. A great idea is to book a session directly before a massage treatment.
While not exactly spa credits, it is important to remember that every room that is booked through a Palace Elite member will receive two free 25 minute massages, two free manicures and two free pedicures. These services are free and clear and are not subject to any service fees.

Resort Credits

Since the spa is such a popular use of credits, Palace Resorts limits the percentage of credits that may be used in the spa. After the allotment of spa credits, the remainder of credits may be used elsewhere. Possible purchases include:

Free House Tours

These tours are unlocked when you book through a Diamond member and stay for at least seven nights. You will usually receive two per room, though the meaning, availability, and value of these two tours can be quite nebulous. Aside from tips, the tours are supposed to be free and clear, though you need to specifically ask the tours desk for details. If you manage to book one of these tours, you can expect them to be decent, but not private by any means. You will travel in shared transportation, and the bus will likely stop to pick up others along the way. You will need to bring some cash for tips and spending.

Universal Credits

These credits are so rare that most guests are unlikely to ever come across them. The reason they are rare is that they are Palace Resorts' equivalent to cash. They are offered under extremely limited scenarios. Even Palace Resorts' highest level members are unlikely to see many Universal Credits, since their membership perks are generally about unlocking weekly stays with upgraded experiences rather than monetary compensation.
Universal Credits are the only credits that the guest may use to pay for any charge on the bill at checkout, including the service fees that accumulate as a result of any spa and resort credit spend.
Being equivalent to cash, Universal Credits may also be used towards booking a future stay. Keep in mind that Universal Credits expire - usually after a year or two.
The most common way to receive Universal Credits is to attend a presentation, and specifically negotiate for some. This option is open to any guest staying at the resort, whether they are a member, booked through a member, or booked through the public website. If you decide to ask for some Universal Credits in exchange for a presentation, you may or may not receive your request. You are more likely to successfully negotiate for these type of credits if you ask the tours desk rather than a random person at the front desk that may be offering you something in exchange for attending a presentation. Before you accept an offer of universal credits, be sure that you are not trading valuable time and money spent on the vacation, for a smaller amount of universal credits when you could have spent the morning enjoying yourself. I tend to rank my vacation time, daily room rate, prorated flight cost etc at the high end of the scale, and presentation offers usually aren't worth the imputed cost of attending.

Summary

For the most part, guests who book through a Diamond member will receive either $1,500 in spa and resort credits, and, with a 7 night stay, will also receive free house tours. Be sure to book early with the pre-arrival concierge. Don't forget hair salon bookings.
