2023.06.01 23:40 InterSlayer The Red Tide - Builder PoV

First video after the Fortification Update for Planetside 2.
This build is on Esamir, kitty corner to Rime Analytics. The VS base consists of a Command Center + Rebirth Center, fully enclosed by gapless walls that can fit within the Command Center Fortress shield. The sound bug is on full display, as is some frame rate hitching with dual fortress shields deployed, and probably about 80-100 players.
The TR and VS have been entrenched at Rime before and during most of the Alert, with VS holding Rime and TR fortified and holding Untapped Reservoir. Eventually, NC takes the Eisa Tech Plant, and join the party by setting up their own base in the ruins between Eisa and Saero.
The clip starts as VS has lost Rime to the TR, and the Red Wave approaches. While the base survives 2 indirect OS's, it could not hold against the Red Tide. Since I had to run mods, I wasn't able to enjoy or view much of the action, though it can be inferred from sounds of battle and minimap dots.
Video ends with a final OS to congratulate the TR on their hard fought victory as they destroy the last VS spawn in the Rebirth Center.

2023.06.01 23:39 Neither_Telephone_66 does he like or is he just an ongoing person?

Hello I need help to know if he likes me or not. Taking into account that my experience is zero, this situation keeps bothering me. Basically I haven't paid much attention to him until now, probably because of anxiety and depression. But this last month I've started to notice him and he does things that makes me think he likes me but I'm not entirely sure. To contextualize we are in the same class but there are many people, also he's two years older than me. At the beginning of the course we never spoke, but when we walk acrossed each other he smiled at me showing his teeth. After Christmas he joined my group for a subject assignment. In February we had to go somewhere for this assigment and I got to know him a bit better. Two months passed by and it wasn't until the end of April that I got to know him better and began to ask myself if he liked me. These are the things that he does that make me ask my self if he likes me: - He smiled at me when we passed each other. - I have caught him several times looking at me -His feet pointed towards me on different occasions - one day he seriously asked me if I was okay and kept eye contact for more than a minute because he wanted to know how I felt - The penultimate day of class he took and changed places in class and sat at my table but in the corner (the tables are four and rectangular so i he was in the 1st spot, 2nd and 3rd where empty and i was on the 4th place), this confused me a lot because it didn't make sense for him to change places because never before had, plus he sat at the other side of the class. Eveen the teacher asked him why he changed places. - He also speaks to me sometimes with the deeper voice -I also told him some gossip and he was very interested - doing the task that I mentioned before, I went to lie down on the grass and he came and lay down with me and he began to take photos and I think I was on the background - He told me about his insecurity (tell me what straight man tells that to someone) and we mutually told each other about some traumas - physical contact: when I left a place I was with my cell phone and to prevent me from falling he grabbed my hip for a second. And then the day of the presentation of our work when we finished we sat together and from time to time our feet collided and stayed together for a few seconds. Also, his whole body pointed towards me. -He also congratulate me when he finished presenting -he asked me for request on instagram with both his main and secondary accounts and he also asked me for a request on BeReal - I opened the best friends section on insta and he liked the story, he has already liked two more stories and the other day he responded to one with the word "HIT" because of the song I posted and we had a little conversation even though he is currently on a trip. - He says things that make me laugh - I have caught him several times looking at me -I scolded him because he mispronounced my name and he began to pronounce it correctly and he began to call me by my nickname - He asked me with his friend if my friend liked him and I told him no, and he told his friend "i've told you we're just friends" But he does things that confuse me, like in general he is a very outgoing person and he makes me doubt if he is like this with everyone and it is simply all my imagination. Onto things that made me dougth: Then at the beginning of May when I wrote to him he would take hours / days to answer me and sometimes he didn't even answer me. He also told me about his ex. To finish the next course I'm going to study abroad and I told him and there was indifference. So my question is: Does he like me or being an extroverted person is he like that with everyone? What I do? How can i know? Classes had finished so I don't know when am I going to se him again. Thank u for reading <3

Shampoo for colored hair recommendations?? (30$ and under!)
I’ve been getting blonde in my hair since 2017 and always used the same shampoo. I like it a lot (the color is faded in this photo because it’s been a while since I got it dyed last lol). But inflation sucks and now my shampoo is 50$ (USD) at every store. Anyone know of good options for colored hair around 30$ or under??

Id like to sell this as a bundle FOR $145 shipped and with a bonus mtech button lock f r e e

(from left to right in the first pic)
1) Ka Bar Space Force Edition TDI, AUS 8 zytel handle and hardshell (kydex?) sheath.
really neat little fixed blade. I was gonna carry it but never did, it was opened and messed around with but never cut anything or used. Its sat on the shelf for a while and needs a new home. its essentially a self defense knife but its comfortable and full of utility as well as high quality build from Ka Bar. Its never ben reprofiled or anything like that its all straight from the Taiwan factory. Im simply not cool enough to appendix carry this knife but I know you are.
2) Kershaw Launch 10, Teal aluminum handles, button auto, wicked little 1.9" hawkbill 154CM blade.
I bought this used on the swap and it was supposed to be a gift for a friend but I'm second guessing that idea and went with something else. I have not cut or carried this piece at all. It has nice strong action, a very cool/sharp 154CM blade, nice deep carry pocket clip, and such snazzy light tiffany blue aluminum body. USA made Kershaws are a great value and this one can faithfully stick by your side unlike my ex- girlfriend.
3) Kizer sheepdog 3.3", Black Micarta scales, 154CM blade.
Last but not least, the one of the trio of knives that has been carried lightly. Fall shut action, solid lockup, sharp and very useful design. Has not been reprofiled or resharpened, only stropped on leather after cutting a couple of packages and a box. I greatly enjoy this knife but as i continue to buy and sell and rotate knives, others make their way into my pocket instead. Everyone knows the sheepdog and if you dont have one, you should try one out. This middle sized 3.3 inch blade is the best imo and my favorite. So much so, it hurts to sell but not as much as being cheated on.
4) MTECH model 1034 manual button lock, black aluminum scales, deep carry clip, no idea steel.
Ok say what you will about mtech but this one is actually kinda cool. I wont lie to you like how my girlfriend lied to me. Its not an expensive knife but its kinda cool to mess with if you dont have a button lock knife. It makes neat metal noises opening and closing it. Its missing a screw on the pocket clip but youre not going to carry this anyway, if you did i dont think itll matter since you have bigger problems at hand anyway...
Thanks for reading, any questions feel free to ask!

Kerf Bending Help - What am i doing wrong?
I have been trying to get a 90 deg. kerf bend in 1/2” baltic birch plywood. The wood either wont bend all the way or bends with hard edges like in the first photo. It has been a lot of trial and error with blade height, but it always seems to be either too thick to bend substantially or too thin to withstand the bend. Is there something I’m missing?

2023.06.01 23:35 MrFlac00 TheConsumer and Blind Skepticism

TLDR: TheConsumer is wrong about the CDC/FDA, he arrives at this position with basically zero evidence, and it undermines his entire conversation. He should do better, but I think he can.
Quick set up: I'm basing this post purely on this video, so if there is additional context from the stream I don't have access to it (who watches livestreams lmao). Also I don't hate this TheConsumer guy, he seems good faith and offers a different perspective in good ways, I just think his method of arriving at skepticism is flawed and this specific point is wrong. I'm also not going to talk about the SSRI's convo (as I have no background on it) nor the vaccine convo, we're gonna focus on the FDA/CDC part.
My argument is this: bad skepticism is just as bad if not worse than blind acceptance, and what TheConsumer did during the FDA/CDC conversation was bad skepticism.
Lets start with my probably flawed definition of what skepticism is: skepticism is reasonable doubt and neutral fact-seeking around certain accepted ideas. Importantly skepticism does not start from an assumption of rightness or wrongness of an idea, it requires a sufficient level of evidence one way or another. The sufficient level of evidence is also important as having too high a level makes proving something impossible, and having too low a level can lead to quickly jumping to a conclusion and accidentally biasing ourselves towards that conclusion with further analysis.
TheConsumer's first argument is much too low a level of evidence against the FDA, misinterpreting a fraud suit and rapidly extrapolating. Here's his own words at 16:03. In it TheConsumer speaks about Bextra: claiming the drug killed people, that although the FDA did catch Pfizer the FDA also approved the drug in the first place (clearly implying that this was partially on the FDA for approving the drug). So what actually happened with Bextra? Bextra (Valdecoxib) was an anti-inflammatory drug approved by the FDA in 2001, approved for "relief of signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis and adult rheumatoid arthritis and for the treatment of primary dysmenorrhea".
Bextra had two issues, one got it pulled in 2005 and the other was the fraud TheConsumer mentioned. First it had more extreme symptoms than previously found, namely potentially lethal skin rash and some heart problems, and was pulled from the market in 2005. I'm not an expert on drug approval so there is stuff I might misunderstand here, but it appears FDA testing did notice rash side effects (page 20) but it was not as extreme as what got Bextra pulled. Also to note, I'm not totally familiar with the industry but from my understanding a drug being pulled in 4 years is pretty quick, especially since roll-out likely took some time after FDA approval.
The fraud suit had nothing to do with these symptoms, and was not the fault of the FDA. See the FDA approved Bextra as an anti-inflammatory drug for a specific population, but Pfizer began marketing the drug off-label to doctors as a pain medication especially post-surgery. So to be clear the huge fraud suite worth 1.9 billion dollars was due to actual fraud and due to the drug being used outside of FDA approval.
Lets get back to TheConsumer's argument then. He touts this as a "boy cried wolf" scenario where the FDA lied, but this is clearly not the truth. The fraud suit was not because the FDA lied but instead because Pfizer lied. In a scenario where the FDA was perfect and honest this situation would still proceed and Pfizer would be caught in the same way as it is not the failure of FDA regulators which caused Pfizer to sell their drugs off-label. As well Destiny's initial pushback becomes even stronger: we don't trust drugs because Pfizer is honest, we trust drugs because checks on drug companies by the FDA and other regulators who have incentives to check those companies.
"But ah", you might say, "what about when the drug got pulled in the first place and KILLED seven PEOPLE?!?!?" Yes that did happen, but here the level of evidence is important. When judging whether an institution is lying or not we need to make space for honest mistakes. My schizo-y section was trying to show whether there was evidence of a cover-up or planned incompetence, and from what I found there is no evidence of this. The FDA trials did see signs of the extreme rash in in-vivo trials but not to the degree as what came later. When evidence began mounting of a clear issue the FDA issued a clear (and at the time, viewed as slightly extreme) statement and action, pulling the drug. Again, if we assume the FDA was a totally honest actor I don't see how very different this could have played out.
To be frank, this is pretty incompetent skepticism. For one, I don't think a singular example or even a few examples of the FDA "lying" would be enough to view them as a corrupt institution. The FDA is massive and so many drugs go through their approval process every year that a couple examples in their 116 year history is nothing. But even then I could grant this line of argument if the examples are MASSIVE or at least show clear systemic fraud....and this case just fails to show anything. I would expect if you hang your hat on singular examples of fraud at the very least you would have read the wiki page.
Second, the argument of how the FDA receives funding and puts the cart well before the horse. TheConsumer states that the CDC [FDA] is clearly not able to monitor companies like Pfizer because they "take large paychecks" from the pharmaceutical industry. Beyond this statement being non-representative to the point of being basically a lie, which Destiny rightly catches him on, the more moderated position is still wrong. In it TheConsumer points out that 40% of the CDC [FDA] budget comes from the fees generated in approval of drugs. This is only partially true as he identifies total "user fees" which includes other sources of income (like Tobacco fees which generate 712 million). According to Congressional reports (this fact sheet is a bit easier to understand) only 1.224 billion of the total ~6.1 billion is from prescription drug "user fees". So ok, 20% of funding. Again, basic research showed this, did TheConsumer do any? These fees are generated from when companies put their drug up for FDA approval. As quick historical background this has only been the case since the Prescription Drug User Fee Act (PDUFA) in 1992.
What does this money actually do? Well it helps fund....the drug approval process. So the FDA is making money off of drug approvals to fund their other departments? I can't find modern numbers but in 2002 only half the cost of drug approval was covered by user fees, the rest was covered by discretionary funding. Presuming incentives here maybe TheConsumer could have a point, incentives could make the FDA more likely to fast-track many drugs to increase its funding. But surely we'd see consequences of this? According to this article we saw an increase from pre to post PDUFA of drugs being removed/getting different warnings post approval from 21% to 27%. That's bad from a public health standpoint, but an increase of 6% is not rabid corruption to the point where you can't trust the FDA. As well, that could be explainable from other sources, prescription drugs are complicated.
This doesn't mean that the FDA cannot be corrupt, but using actual skepticism we need more evidence than this. We should lean on, for example, reliable reporting instead. But TheConsumer doesn't do this, instead its handwaving at numbers and assuming the result.
OK lets address the 1000lb gorilla in the room, why did I hyperfocus on this one 15 second section of this one video?
The reason is this is the foundation of his point and there is no foundation. TheConsumer arrived at the FDA/CDC (because he conflates the two) being corrupt from the fact they receive funding from requiring companies to pay for drug approval, and the approval of Bextra. That's it. The former is inadequate proof of this corruption he speaks to, and the latter just isn't factually true. The lack of basic knowledge of the facts, the conflation of two wildly different agencies, the assumptions of proof; all of this points to a complete disregard of skeptical engagement. On its own this is fine but its that TheConsumer then extrapolates from this to the point where he doesn't trust FDA approval of the Covid vaccines.
I'm gonna go schizo-psychoanalyst here (so I'm making lots of assumptions), but I think this is representative of a broader issue. TheConsumer seems like a smart dude, he can engage in reasonable conversation, he took points in stride and didn't immediately jump argument the moment he received pushback, I wasn't reflexively trying to gouge my eyes out with a melon baller listening the video, overall a good 7/10 convo would watch again. Its the "I'm a jack of all trades" statement he made (that with the anti-vax adjacent language) that got me thinking because it reminds me of myself. Its very easy as a smart dude to conflate two statements together: I do rational things, I am a rational person. The former speaks to a pattern of action from oneself and the latter is identity. The problem is when we conflate the two we begin to believe that the actions we do are rational because we do it, not because the thing itself was a rational thing to do.
Frankly, TheConsumer did not do the bare minimum of research on this subject. He knows less than nothing. Yet he has established a pretty broad-reaching set of values on this nothing. I'm entirely assuming but I think TheConsumer already arrived at this conclusion, that the FDA/CDC/NIH/three letter agency are corrupt and not to be trusted, well before he had any real evidence to try to draw from. That's a problem. Its a problem that is not unique to this guy, but all of us who engage with subjects well out of our field of expertise, especially Destiny. But its not an inescapable problem and I think this video gives good lessons to learn of what not to do. I'll give credit to Destiny as much as I disagree with him at times, he does appear to have a voice which tells him to "stop, lets try to understand this better". But we all can do better.

2023.06.01 23:35 Sonics_soul Tattoo Idea & assistance on alternate tattoo idea

Tattoo Idea & assistance on alternate tattoo idea
TL:DR - sharing my tattoo idea I created & need advice on alternative design. I'm a newbie to tattoos so advice there is appreciated
Hey Coldplay fans! First time posting but long time lover of Coldplay. I'm posting here to share an idea that I've created for a tattoo I (25 M) wanted to get for a little while now. I have a very solid foundation for the idea, however I'm thinking of an alternative design to it. Also, for all the people who have tattoos, I'd like to hear your experience, tips and further advice since this will be my FIRST tattoo (more about my preference below).
The first photo is the first complete idea I came up with. There is a color and a black & white version of the tattoo. The significance is as follows: I decided on the Flower of Life symbol from the "A Head Full of Dreams" album because it is a beautiful piece of artwork and I love that the album signifies that life is beautiful & to treasure every moment you have and you can hear that through the various songs on the album. The symbols at the top say "Coloratura" in the language Coloraturan (shout-out to all the people, like myself, who bought the Limited edition Box set for MOTS). That has become my favorite song by them and it is something I want to commemorate. From a musicality standpoint, I can see the different movements in the song. It also relates to how I want to live my life: exploring new opportunities, dreaming to my heart's content and more. The bottom portion is, obviously, in reference to the album "Mylo Xyloto." It doesn't have too much significance to me other than it being one of my favorite albums and one of the first full albums I listened to fully through. I've been told it's a solid idea, however the Mylo Xyloto lettering doesn't fit the full aesthetic of the piece.
The second photo is the exact design, with the exception of Mylo Xyloto. I have more attachment to my former favorite song, "Fix You" and I would want to add that to the tattoo. Disclaimer: the circles and line are NOT going to be part of the tattoo, it is just for alignment/centering purposes. I wanted to include Fix You since I also resonate with the message it conveys: Life can be beautiful, but also daunting and you might lose yourself at times along the way. It's important to find ways to ground yourself and come back home to find yourself, and be you.
This is where you guys come in - I would love to add the words "Fix You" but would love it to be distinct to the X&Y album art style, yet still match the aesthetic of the tattoo design. If anyone has any ideas/input, please PLEASE DM me your thoughts 😁
Now, I would love to have the tattoo placed on my forearm (thought about upper arm between biceps & triceps but it can lose its original appeal overtime with muscle growth). For those that have tattoos on their inner forearm, what's the experience like? For those with color tattoos, how much more expensive is it than B&W and do you have to go for consistent touch-ups? Does color fade quicker than B&W? Once again, I AM NEW TO THIS, so any and all advice is greatly appreciated.
If you've made it this far, thank you for reading and taking the time to hear my idea out. This is very special to me and I am thankful for your time

2023.06.01 23:34 Sigh-Ren-Walker I just want to gush about my boyfriend. An IRL Wattpad story is what it feels like. I want to leave a little digital print of him and who he is.

Soooo, my boyfriend and I met through a chatting app. We both started out just wanting friendship. We both have been single for nearly half a year. We hung out and conversed for a few days when he told me that he was developing romantic feelings for me. We hung out for 6-8 hours every night. We just talked, laughed and enjoyed each other's company. I did not accept his feelings right away because I was uncertain if it was real or not. It could have been lust and temporary infatuation. I also did not want to rush into anything.
He asked if he could still pursue me and agreed. I remember the way he smirked and said he was going to charm and prove himself to me. We kept hanging out and got to know each other on a deeper level. A cute thing he did was that he couldn't look at me in the eyes longer than a few seconds LMAO. He would immediately turn away and become red when I would catch him. He took me on a movie date. We watched Cocaine Bear (funny af film). He was a little shy at first lol. I took the initiative to hold his hand and lay my head on his shoulder. I remember his little fist pump of victory. There was a group of girls behind us and they cheered him on.
As we got to know each other, unbeknownst to both of us, we attended the same high school. We also had the same circles of friends. We were both shocked that we never met each other. I remember us screaming and laughing from excitement because of the friends we mentioned that we knew. We both showed each other pictures of ourselves from high school. I had no recollection of him at all. However, he remembered my dress at prom. It stood out due to its color and volume.
He is by far the most romantic guy I ever dated. We were in a parking lot. He put on music and taught me how to dance cumbia (a mexican dance), the waltz, and a four-step. Constantly, serenade me (he was a mariachi when he was younger). He has cooked for me. He made me birria tacos, homemade pizza, and orange chicken. He loves to cook. I love his little skip when he brings out his food. I love how passionate he is when talks about his cooking process.
When he gets tipsy, he turns even more loving and clingy. He loves having physical contact with me. It could be a hug, holding hands, constant kisses on the head, forehead and back of my hand. He just has to be next to me. I like how expressive he is with his affections. I'm not used to it. I deny that I love it but he knows.
Not gonna lie, there was a lot of sexual tension LMAO. The constant back and forth flirting, the intimate gestures and sexual jokes and teasing. I'll make it short- we did do it. It was hot, passionate and explosive to say the least. It wasn't once. It was a few rounds lol. A few days later, he brings me a bouquet of my favorite flowers: peonies and tulips. He asked me if he could be my boyfriend.
He confessed that he has already gushed to his family and friends about me. They're all so excited to meet me. He almost got in trouble with his mother because of our conversation: babies. His mother thought that he impregnated someone and was about to go off on him. This was before she knew about me. He explained and she was happy that he has taken a liking to a girl.
He took me to a party of his friend on the weekend. Throughout the whole night, his friends were coming up to me one by one to tell me about him LOL. They were telling me that he's such a good guy. That I seemed perfect for him. They were asking when I fell in love with him LMAO. They were so excited for him because he has been hurt a lot in the past. They're his biggest cheerleaders and I'm so happy he has those friends.
Everything was going well, until two months into dating we received a health concern. He was down in Mexico for a trip. He wasn't feeling great and got checked out.
The doctors concluded and confirmed that he had cancer. This all happened a month ago.

2023.06.01 23:34 Intelligent-Lack-122 My Retrospective on all the theatrical Spider-Man Movies

In anticipation of Across the Spider-Verse, I decided to go over all the theatrical movies and give my thoughts on them. I won't be going over Spider-Man appearances in Civil War, Infinity War, or Endgame. Just the ones where Spidey is the main character. I also won't be talking the Venom movies or Morbius.

First up are the 3 movies with Tobey Maguire.

Spider-Man (2002):
Despite some dated CGI shots. This movie has stood the test of time, and has gotten better with age. Before Tom Holland, Tobey Maguire was Spider-Man/Peter Parker to me. As a kid when I saw him and Kirsten Dunst playing Peter Parker and Mary Jane, I didn't see actors I saw Peter Parker and Mary Jane. The two who steal the show are JK Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson and Willem Dafoe as the Green Goblin. JK was born to play Jonah. While Willem Dafoe embraces the Green Goblin character in the same manner as Jack Nicholson's Joker in Batman. The music is also amazing. The Danny Elfman score is one of the best themes I've heard, to me that always will be the Spider-Man theme. There are the songs for the film like Hero by Chad Kroeger and All About by Sum 41 that are just as iconic as the movie. A perfect balance of Humor and Drama, and some great action scenes for the 2000s. And it's very faithful to Spider-Man's origins while still being it's own thing, which should impress both diehard fans and newcomers.

Spider-Man 2:
Just as good as the first, and one of the best sequels I've seen. The film deals with Peter Parker struggling with responsibilities as Himself and as Spider-Man, this is something a lot of people can easily relate to. Since Peter wants to have a normal life without the stress of being a superhero. And his duties as Spider-Man has led to him being fired, his friend Harry resenting him, not being there for his Aunt May, and his love interest Mary Jane rejecting him for another guy. But in the end he realizes that the city needs Spider-Man. Especially against the new villain Doc Ock played by Alfred Molina, who is just as amazing as Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin.

Spider-Man 3:
This movie had some cool action scenes, and I thought it did a good job juggling the 6 main characters Peter, Harry, MJ, Venom, & Sandman. As well as their personal struggles. I also like the direction they went with where Peter let the fame as Spider-Man go to his head, to being consumed with revenge after finding out Sandman killed Uncle Ben, to learning what it means to put others before himself. But it's kinda Silly at times, Gwen Stacy was completely pointless, and I agree that the dancing scene was pretty lame. But other then those problems, I still think it's a good movie, just not as good as the first two.

Next up is the two Andrew Garfield films.

The Amazing Spider-Man:
I have issues with this one. I don't like Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man (not in this movie anyway), I don't like The Lizard, and I don't like the fact that we went through the origin story again, I know it's a reboot but I still wasn't interested in seeing Peter become Spider-Man for the second time. But I will say that Sally Field and Martin Sheen were perfectly cast as Aunt May and Uncle Ben, and I will admit that Peter and Gwen Stacy have good chemistry (mainly because Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone were dating at that time). While I didn't hate this movie, I was very underwhelmed.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2:
This movie is a sloppy mess with too many storylines and new characters that are underdeveloped and takes themselves way too seriously. It also has a really dumb twist that's like something out of an episode of Power Rangers. There was one good touching scene between Peter and Aunt May when she told him about his father, but that's the only positive I can give it. While The first Amazing Spider-Man wasn't that good at least it was watchable, and say what you want about Spider-Man 3, it may have had some of the issues but at least it knew how to balance the story and characters. To the studio it was just and ad to promote future spinoffs and sequels, and nothing more. Thankfully after this train wreck, things would get better.

Now we're onto the Tom Holland movies.

Spider-Man Homecoming:
The second reboot of Spider-Man, but the first one since Spider-Man 2 to get the character right (absolutely right). In the movie, Peter Parker desperately wants to be an avenger just like Iron man, despite being in high school. But throughout the film, he learns what it means to be a real hero, which is helping out the little people. Tom Holland is the best actor who has played the character and Michael Keaton as The Vulture is the best Spider-Man villain since Doc Ock. This film also made me a fan of The Ramones, extra points for that.

Spider-Man Far from Home:
Seeing it for the first time in theaters, I thought it was just OK. But as time went on I started to like it more and more. What makes this film great is seeing Peter trying to live up to what Iron man did before him, and the pressure it has on him. And his relationship with MJ is just adorable, she is probably the best girlfriend in the Spider-Man movies. While I like Vulture more, Mysterio was a welcome addition to the series.
Spider-Man No Way Home:
I won't go into too much detail as I don't want to spoil it for those who haven't seen it yet. But the best way I can describe this movie is that it's The Dark Knight of Spider-Man movies. The film pushes boundaries and raises the bar on superhero movies. No Way Home is a perfect example of a movie that balances nostalgia with good writing, which ties up all the loose ends from not just this Spider-Man series, but also the other series that came before it. Also, not everyone is going live happily ever after by the end of the film, in fact Peter does have to make the ultimate sacrifice. These are things that other long running movie franchises should take inspiration from. Now of course this isn't the end, because there is another sequel in production, and I look forward to seeing these characters again . Aside of the mid credit scene, I can't think of any major issues.

Finally the first animated Spidey movie.

Spider-Man into the Spider-Verse:
I can now say that the good Spider-Man movies officially out way all the bad and mediocre ones. It's one of the most unique animated films I've seen, a 3D movie in the style of a comic book. But that's not all, Miles Morales is a well written character and makes a great Spider-Man in his own right. In addition the film has memorable supporting characters such as Spider-Gwen, Spider-Man Noir, and of course Spider-Hamm. It's also has a great moral that anyone can be Spider-Man, no matter who they are.

So, there's my retrospective on all the movies until Across the Spider-Verse comes out. I'll give my thoughts on it sometime in the future.

Chronic Headaches and Migraines for the last 15-16 years. Today was the first time I ever had an Aura before a migraine. This photo edit is the closest thing I could put together to visualize it.
After having chronic headaches and migraines for the last 15-16 years, today was the first day I ever got an "aura" before a migraine.
It was freaking scary. I had no idea what was happening. I was in the office having sushi with my IT team, and it came out of nowhere.
At first I thought it was just some light reflecting into my eyes, but it didn't go away, and it got stronger and brighter, and started making it hard to see.
It was like a holographic rainbow wave of light that stretched from the bottom-left corner of my eyesight to the top-middle.
I started freaking out and started texting my wife, but it was hard to see the keyboard on my phone to text.
It lasted about 15-20 minutes, and as it started to fade that's when the migraine hit me.
I've heard of an "aura" with migraines before, but I had no idea it was this intense. It felt like a straight up hallucination that jacked up my vision.
I took an imitrex and as soon as the aura was gone I went home to lay down.
I'm really hoping this was a fluke, and not something I can expect from now on... But idk. Everything I read says that chronic headaches and migraines only get worse with age, which really scares me.
I scheduled an appointment with an optometrist just to be safe, and also currently looking for a new neurologist. Would anyone here happen to know of a good neurologist on the East coast, preferably around the PA/DE/MD area that would do telehealth?

2023.06.01 23:34 ThrowRAProxy My (45F) and (46M) Likes for Thots

So I noticed the my male partner in their 40’s has been liking photos of females that are very seductive or half naked and follows them on IG.
I am not sure how I feel about this, it’s making me feel insecure. We have been dating for less then a year but now I’m wonder if he is using other platforms for side conversations.
I feel strange and not sure how to process this. If I bring up the conversation then I might be accused of snooping but it’s hard to ignore.
The reason for anyone to like photos like that would be to have the owner see the likes, otherwise what’s the purpose of liking seductive pictures.

2023.06.01 23:34 KeysOfWanda Mary Eve (Louisville, Kentucky 1992 - unidentified decedent)

This was a case mentioned on the Wikipedia article for "List of unidentitified murder victims" which Wikipedia assholefucks deleted, and which there is virtually no documentation anywhere else on the Internet. I think this is the text that was on Wikipedia:
>On Christmas Eve 1992 the body of a female infant of possibly mixed race was found in a trash bag in the employee parking lot of oxmoor centre on Shelbyville road in louisville, the mother was never found.
https://www.facebook.com/WhoAreYouDoe0/photos/a.122124372580573/194849028641440/?paipv=0&eav=Afatxd-7UHzsafqufkqGepJanunZrMbIFvHjyDzU5e0S8o4cg9S--DtYiUCxki25tbo&\_rdr
I can find several articles from the Courier-Journal archives on newspapers.com referencing "Mary Eve" from January 1993 that I can not access because they are behind a paywall. But a reddit user apparently posted the contents of one of them a few years ago.
>“Story, Page B 1 .5 The mother of the newborn found dead on Christmas Eve "can take comfort in knowing she's our little girl, and we'll take care of her." More than 40 people attended Mary Eve's funeral. Theresa Adams and her husband, James, who arranged for the burial, wept yesterday at the cemetery. Jefferson County coroner, said yesterday that the child had been born healthy and died, probably from cold or suffocation, before being struck by one or more cars. Yesterday police questioned a woman after getting her name from a tipster, but she is not the baby's mother, Louisville police Lt. Gene Sherrard said. They'll continue to pursue every lead, he said. But mourners at the funeral, though curious about the parents, were more concerned with giving Mary Eve a decent burial. Theresa Adams, of Fairdale, said everyone at the service felt a connection to Mary Eve. "Her mother can take comfort in knowing she's our little girl, and well take care of her," she said. See BABY Page 5, col. 1, Family of strangers puts abandoned baby to rest. Some people brought flowers, and a dark-haired woman placed a teddy bear near the tiny, closed bubble casket. The infant who had been found dead Christmas Eve in an Oxmoor Center parking lot, naked but for a plastic trash bag, prompted a police search for the person who put her there. It seemed that no one would claim her. But the 7-pound newborn, named Mary Eve after her death, was surrounded by mourners yesterday at Bethany Memorial Cemetery in Jefferson County, Ky. More than 40 strangers gathered to say goodbye. They'd never seen her, but for this day at least, they were her family. "She became our little girl today," said Theresa Adams, who with her husband, James, arranged for the burial.”
https://www.reddit.com/UnresolvedMysteries/comments/9o5j0f/kentucky\_unsolved/
This case is of interest to me because I have family in the Louisville area who I used to visit fairly often who lived near Shelbyville Road. The shopping center mentioned in the article, Oxmoor Center, sounds very familiar, I think I may have been there once years ago. Clearly this happened in the area of Louisville where my relatives live.
Has anyone tried to find out more on this? With all the old cases being solved recently due to genetic genealogy (some of which I was thinking would never be solved) I was hoping to hear this one was too, but as long as nobody remembers it and virtual all traces or mentions are gone, nobody will even bother trying to solve this one.

2023.06.01 23:33 Von_und_zu_ Delicious snark from Maureen Callahan in the DM

I loved every word of this. Hear hear.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12149867/MAUREEN-CALLAHAN-Harry-Meghan-left-say-Truth-theyll-NEVER-stop-blabbing.html
" MAUREEN CALLAHAN: Oh what joy we felt after claims Harry and Meghan have ‘nothing left to say’! And how it only deepened our despair at the grim reality - they’ll NEVER stop blabbing."
Oh, the relief and joy upon last night’s breaking news: Harry and Meghan, according to an insider, declared themselves done: ‘Nothing left to say.’
‘That period of their life is over,' the source told The Sun.
Could it be? Could it actually, really be true that these two have ran out of gas? Exhausted themselves of secrets to spill, accusations to lob, crosses to bear?
Could it be that they finally got the memo?
Of course not! Come on — we know exactly who Harry and Meghan are and what their lone subject matter is.
As royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams told MailOnline, refuting The Sun’s story, the duo ‘specialize in doing the unexpected’ and ‘have a great deal more they could say'.
To which a weary world says: Fool us once, twice, three times. Surely Buckingham Palace hasn’t let down their guard.
Besides, what would such a world even look like? Do we even know how to navigate through a week in which no flares are sent up from Montecito? No new gripes? No new photo ops showing us how happy, happy, happy these two are sans royal identity and privilege?
Living, per Oprah, their best lives?
Recall Oprah’s epic question upon sitting down with the obstinate duchess back in 2021, Meghan and Harry having ‘fled for their lives’, or some such nonsense, from their gilded palace:
‘Were you silent, or were you silenced’?
‘The latter,’ said La Markle.
That explosive interview was followed by this statement from the house of H&M: ‘It was something they felt they wanted and needed to do, but now [that] they have done it, they feel a line has been drawn under that chapter of their lives and they want to move on.’
It was to be, in sum and substance, their last word.
Yet over the past two-plus years, we’ve endured endless whining, cawing, moaning and panhandling for pity through their Netflix series, Harry’s memoir ‘Spare’ (forever known as ‘WAAAGH!’), his sit-downs on ‘The Late Late Show with James Corden’, ‘60 Minutes’, the Tom Bradby interview, and as the cover-couple of Time magazine’s ‘100 Most Influential People’.
And so much more: Meghan submitting to humiliating pranks on ‘Ellen’ — drinking milk from a baby bottle and eating like a chipmunk in public. Her ‘Archetypes’ podcast, her children’s book ‘The Bench’, her cover profiles in ‘Variety’ and ‘The Cut’.
Only slightly less cringe worthy than Meghan comparing herself to Nelson Mandela in that 2022 ‘Cut’ profile (!) was this moment, a gift from writer Allison P. Davis:
‘At one point in our conversation, instead of answering questions, [Meghan] will suggest how I might transcribe the noises she making: “She’s making these guttural sounds, and I can’t quite articulate what it is she’s feeling in that moment because she has no word for it; she’s just moaning”.’
Our poor, hapless duchess, interrupting her moans to explain that her wordlessness means she has no words.
Subtlety has never been Meghan’s strong suit, has it?
Nor have these two ever mastered long-range planning. As a source told the Sun, the Netflix doc and ‘Spare’ were meant to be the couple's ‘era of visibility,’ and then, having arguably sold out Harry’s family for millions of dollars, having made all sorts of outrageous and hurtful claims and demanding apologies, they anticipated 2023 as their ‘year of reconciliation’ with the royals.
Makes sense. Who among us wouldn’t immediately forgive those who betrayed us multiple times on a global scale?
Besides, what Royal-free content is Meghan going to produce? Her little-read lifestyle blog? Rom-coms for Netflix?
Not likely — and not just because producing comedies requires a sense of humor.
Meghan’s first heralded foray, the animated series ‘Pearl’, was quietly dropped by Netflix last May, and it’s not hard to see why. Who wants to watch a show about a 12-year-old girl admiring historical women?
A girl, Meghan said in a statement, ‘on a journey of self-discovery as she tries to overcome life’s daily challenges’?
What does any of that even mean? More of Meghan’s word-salad, the same leaves constantly re-tossed.
‘Meghan,’ by the way, means ‘pearl’ in Welsh. Clearly, these two are incapable of generating an original story that has nothing to do with them and their victimhood.
To wit: Now that ‘Spare’ has made us all privy to the dog bowl and the broken necklace, to Harry’s frostbitten todger and mummy’s face cream and the box of her hair he keeps bedside, one would think he’s exhausted himself.
Not so. ‘The first draft . . . was 800 pages,’ he said upon publication, ‘and now it’s down to 400 pages. It could have been two books, let’s put it that way.’
There’s a reason Harry was iced out at Charles’ coronation: He’s only published one book of a four-book deal, and it’s rumored one of those could be Meghan’s memoir. What was that whistle-stop trip to London if not a likely sweep for gossip and grievance?
One would think the ‘South Park’ episode – their ‘Worldwide Privacy Tour’ lampooned to perfection – would have been enough to shut these two up.
One would also think that any public figures who really want to disappear would forego the big public announcements and just actually disappear. To quote South Park: ‘WE WANT PRIVACY!’
This all comes a mere two weeks after Meghan received a dubious award in Manhattan — the Woman of Vision award, bequeathed by her great new friend ‘Glo’ Steinem.
Our duchess was decked out in a figure-hugging gold strapless dress, waving to the assembled paparazzi as she made her grand entrance through a Hertz rental-car backdrop.
Oh, how she was in her element, ascending to the stage as Alicia Keys’s ‘Girl on Fire’ blared through the ballroom. How she condescended to actual activists in the room, announcing from the podium that their awards were ‘frankly, well deserved.’
As one of many who suffered through that event in the audience, I was also among their first to leave.
But Meghan’s award failed to make headlines. Her speech was filled with the usual nonsense — ‘be the visionary of your own life’, ‘change is just one action away’, ‘[stand] in the elegance and the power of your strength’ — and failed to galvanize.
But no matter. For the next day, these two claimed to have been subject to a ‘near-catastrophic’, two-hour-long ‘car chase’ through the streets of Manhattan, and the world was set alight.
It was a claim openly doubted by New York’s own Democratic mayor Eric Adams, Whoopi Goldberg of ‘The View’ and almost all New Yorkers, who know a thing or two about our gridlocked streets.
A claim, too, that called to mind Princess Diana. These two are nothing if not predictable. But now that they've lost even the woke — well, time for another pivot.
Harry and Meghan may have once been royals, but in America, content is king. And as the couple have made clear, they have but one story to tell. Or, more pointedly, sell.

2023.06.01 23:33 Hordebreaker2 THE RAINBOW IS NOT GAY!

The Rainbow is Not Gay
Written by: Lillian Daciana
Inspired by: Frank Turek, Andrew Sibley, and various writers
When we who live in this world see our friends claim to be homosexual, how do we respond? If we believe that homosexuality is wrong, how do we display that belief, especially if we are Christian? Trust the Creator, and believe that He will help the Christians speak the right words. He will bless us in our display of faith, and even when we are reviled for our faith.
The moral, physical, and spiritual wrongness of homosexuality is preached by many prophets of the Bible. The sexual immorality of homosexuality can and will destroy a person.
The way the LGBT uses the symbols of old cultural and spiritual beliefs is also inappropriate. One example is the pride flag, which uses the rainbow, God’s promise to the earth, never to flood it again (Genesis 8: 18-22); and twists the message of pure love. “Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”
Writer Andrew Sibley says this- “Instead, the pride flag associates love with sexual diversity and selfish pleasure seeking. The term gay changed its meaning during the 1960s and 1970s from that of happy and carefree, to that of homosexual, or more specifically male homosexual. The more traditional understanding is exemplified in a once popular children’s saying: “The child that is born on the Sabbath day is blithe and bonny, and good and gay.” As I was born on a Sunday, at a young age I recall being taught this stanza from the rhyme with approval. Of course, to think our birthday has any influence on our lives is really superstitious nonsense, but it does show how the word gay long had a different meaning unrelated to sexual orientation or activity.”
Romans 1:26-32 says this about homosexuality- “For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.”
And then there are the people who don’t feel ‘well represented’ by the rainbow, so they create their own flag. When will humanity learn that colors cannot be homosexual?
No, the rainbow does not stand for ‘gay pride’. Rather, it stands for God’s promise to the world, never to flood it again.
“I establish my covenant with you, that never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of the flood, and never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth.” And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant that I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations: I have set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth.” (Genesis 9:11).

I'm looking for long-term friendship. You don't have to like the things i do but please show an effort so we can at least try to work it out. I am from EST time zone. Not a must but similar time zones around that would work better because there'd be less time difference.
Couple of my interests:
-Metal, rock, house kinda music
-Anime, movies, and shitty reality tv shows (Kitchen nightmares, 90 day fiance, my 600lb life, extreme cheapskates etc.)

-Just recently started reading manga&manhwa. My first manhwa was solo leveling and it was the best (still couldn't find anything as good as that).
-I like photography as in, i basically take pics of anything (it is usually buildings, nature, or anything i think it looks cool).
-I also love Harry Potter, Fantastic Beasts, Star Wars (recently started).
-I love random photo trade like things you took pics of, random junks you found at a store etc etc.
-I have weird curiosities like how do wizards make galleons in Harry Potter? (I know they work but how does that economy run etc.)
-I have a small humanmade skull collection such as skull rings, candles, globe etc.
