2023.05.28 14:00 threadsafety Dealing with resource feeding and factory placement with a bus

Hi all, I'm currently at the point in the mid-game (working on unlocking tiers 7-8 now) where most factories I've built (project parts, heavy frames, motors, refineries, etc.) are getting in the way of each other. Each of these factories more or less connects to resource node(s) directly with conveyors. Not only does this create spaghetti, but I also feel like my resource usage is not optimum. I really hate the current system.
I've decided to completely re-make all of my production lines so far for the sake of future-proofing the late game. My plan is to make a big bus where I put on all my items. This bus would still be relatively centralized, I plan to build all my factories more or less in the same area. Far away resources and/or products would be shipped to my bus using trains/trucks/drones/whatever.
However, I've run into the problem. Considering an example with a linear bus with points 1 -> 2 -> 3. If I feed it iron at 1 and my factory is at 2, then if I also feed iron at 3, factory 2 won't be able to use it. Which means that for something like iron, which I need a lot of, I have (to my knowledge) 3 options: 1. Route all basic resources to the origin of the bus using e.g. trains. Then, I would have to make sure that a factory that produces e.g. modular frames is placed before a factory that produces heavy modular frames. 2. Put in the resources directly into the bus with the shortest distance. Then, I would need to keep track of the resource flow at each segment of the bus and build factories accordingly. I would also need to order factories. 3. Make the bus cyclical. Place smart splitters that overflow into a storage facility. I think eventually the resources available at every point would be the sum of the input, minus what is taken out for production.
I don't think ordering and making sure I have enough resources at every point for each factory is the way to go, it seems like a nightmare to plan and maintain. I'm currently leaning towards a cyclical bus, but I was wondering how you guys managed to solve this problem.
For what it's worth, my ultimate vision for the bus is to be able to push/pull arbitrary resources. If I need more iron, I just connect a new smeltery to the bus, and all connected factories benefit. If I need to produce a new item, I just pull the resources I need from the bus, and then once I'm done place the new item onto the bus. Rise & repeat.

I used to be in this loop where I’d only really practice irons and putter - my driver is consistent enough to basically always be in play, sometimes longer sometimes shorter, my woods are fine, so I figured - make 18 greens in regulation, 1 putt a few of them and here I come PGA
The thing is, I feel like a lot of us never really practice what to do when it goes wrong, and realistically, I miss between 5 and 10 greens per round
I spoke to my coach, we got a routine and introduced what resembles “technique” for my chipping and man what a difference that has been
I went from an inconsistent 7, to an inconsistent 4, to a reasonably consistent 2.8 now, with my last 4 competitive rounds being 74 74 75 75 (over 3 weeks)
Being able to get up and down on a reasonable number of holes has helped me average 2-3 birdies per round, and taken so much mental pressure off of hitting a poor iron shot
It’s probably common knowledge that I’m discovering just now, but I hope this post helps a few golfers out there if they’ve been struggling

Collage mode, 1mm margins, borderless mode. Inside the software and the preview everything is okay, the bottom margin is there aswell, but missing on the print.

2023.05.28 13:52 ladysnowbld2 I’ve just found that my endo has returned after thinking it had been entirely removed in 2015. Would anyone have any insights from similar experiences with endometriomas?

So I (32F) had endometriosis for over 10 years which didn’t get diagnosed until I was 25 (every doctor just mentioned it being normal that I was in so much pain and bleeding so much that I had low iron). I had an amazing specialist in my home town who removed the cysts and apparently they were significant (stage 2 I think?) I had an iud inserted and never encountered any issues with period pain again or heavy bleeding and eventually stopped menstruating all together on the Mirena about 2 years ago.
Unfortunately I had to go into emergency last night because I had developed the most horrific pain in my abdomen that was radiating though my body. I was thinking it might be appendicitis or a blockage in my intestine because the pain was mostly in my gut and because I was vomiting. I also haven’t menstruated for years, so it didn’t occur to me that my endo was back.
When I got taken into emergency, the male doctor examined me and told me that he thinks my endometriosis is back and I should take some pain killers and go home within a couple of hours. The nurses gave me endone and it didn’t reduce the pain at all and I was still crying in agony, so the doctor eventually gave me fentanyl, which helped immediately.
I then begged the doctor to do some further testing as it felt like something more serious was happening. As a neurodiverse person I have an extremely high pain threshold and for me to feel pain like this indicated that something more sinister could be happening. He agreed to do a ct scan and the scans revealed that I had two endometrial cysts which were 6cm on each side of my ovaries. I asked if they had ruptured/whether there was internal bleeding and he said he can’t confirm because they would need to do an ultrasound first and I would need to do this externally after I was discharged from hospital. He also told me that I will need to contact my gyno on Monday to organise getting a procedure. He said he would give me an endone script to control the pain in the interim.
I wasn’t sure if I was bleeding internally or if my ovaries have been completely damaged from the cysts. I also don’t know if this case can progress into something far more serious if I don’t get an immediate emergency procedure. As the doctor was an emergency dr, he wasn’t able to answer any of these questions and told me to speak to my specialist.
Im currently in my honours year and I have my thesis and research proposal due in 3 weeks. I should be able to get some extensions of time with a letter from my doctor, but I also am not sure how this could possibly progress.
I understand that people’s recovery and experience can definitely vary from person to person. I’d be keen to know how others recovered though. Has anyone experienced similar pain and how long did it take to subside? Did it resolve without a procedure?

I recently bought the Skarbrand box and it comes with practically a whole Bloodthirster, bar the body and wings. I’ve got a replacement for the body (second Skarbrand body), but I wondered if anyone knows what a good alternatives to use for the wings could be?
I’ve looked on eBay/ Etsy to see if there’s decent 3D Printed alternatives, but haven’t been able to find much that fits the scale or Khorne/demon aesthetic.
Does anyone have any suggestions or alternatives that could be used instead of having to buy the actual wings (since they’re £35-45) or even any ideas that could replace wings entirely!

As an avid soundtrack collector and SpongeBob fan, I'd like to ask if anyone knows where one can find a copy of the promo CD that contains Gregor Narholz' score of the SpongeBob SquarePants Movie.
Apparently, according to some research on a number of wiki's, some of these CD's were printed and distributed to (I expect) movie theatres and the like. While I did find a digital version, it was sadly somewhat corrupted and a few tracks glitch out.
Seeing as I love Narholz' score in that movie to bits, and have the scores of the second and third movies on CD as well, I'm curious if anyone knows if someone knows where I can find a copy, preferably at a reasonable price. A download link with the uncorrupted score would be fine as well. Many thanks in advance. ;)

Before you down vote me into oblivion, read the next line. I'm sick of Squadron 42 holding back Star Citizen's development. Just release SQ42 from the shadows and then we (the public) can finally stop asking questions about SQ42 and "When" questions about Star Citizen.
SQ42 already has 1. Celebrity voiceovers 2. Episodic 3. All the new Tech is designed for SQ42 first 4. Ships that backers have pledged for 5. Better frame rate (because it's a single player game) 6. The potential to make Hollywood embrace Chris again,as their darling 7. A majority of the 800+ employees at CIG working on SQ42 8. CIG won't hear any "when" questions, because SQ42 will be released to the public 9. All of the dream features that Chris wants us to experience
What is their to gain by keeping Squadron 42 in the shadows? I see no negatives if CIG released Squadron 42 today.
