2023.06.07 21:27 hawks27-2 Preview of who the Flyers could pick at 22nd Overall
With the Flyers adding a second pick in the 2023 draft I wanted to take a look at the players who could be available at 22nd Overall on draft night. When getting into this part of the first round it usually becomes harder to predict where guys will go, especially this year when people are even having a hard time handicapping picks outside the top 3. Predicting the Flyers selection is even tougher, given Briere and Jones don't have an established track record, the team likely didn't scout players in this range as intensely throughout the year, and the fact that (as of right now) the team wont pick again until 87th Overall means that there are a lot of unknowns in figuring out who the Flyers could pick. So I will cast a wide net to show a wide variety of players who could or should be available.
Have to Fall I did a preview on
who the Flyers could pick at 7th Overall last month. 8 of those 15 players (Cristall, Sale, Barlow, Reinbacher, Yager, Danielson, Perreault, and Wood) are all ranked 22nd or lower in at least one draft ranking, so there is always the chance that one of those players fall. While I wouldn't get your hopes up on any one specific player, and there is a good chance that all of them are off the board at 22nd, there is a chance that one of these guys slips through to the Flyers second pick. Outside of these guys there is only one player that I'll categorizes as "Have to Fall".
Riley Heidt - F, 5'11, Prince George Cougars - Heidt has some high end tools that could see him come off the board earlier than a lot of people expect, but some deficiencies that could keep him on the board until 22nd OA. He has great speed and can handle the puck at speed. Combined with the fact that he is an elite playmaker makes him one of the most dangerous set up men in the draft. His ability to change direction and create small openings to thread the needle lead him to the top of the WHL assist charts, tying Bedard for the league lead. One of the big drawbacks is that he is probably too much of a playmaker, he doesn't have a strong shot and does use his shot enough, with this draft being big on shooters we could see teams taking shoot first guys over someone like Heidt. He is also pretty slight and while being 5'11 which is not really undersized he does play a small player's game. I think he'll be off the board, but if he's available the Flyers could steal a super talented playmaker. He's played a lot of center but will likely be a winger in the NHL.
Wheelehouse Mikhail Gulyayev - D, 5'10, Avangard Omsk Organization - Gulyayev had been considered the top defenseman in the draft for most of the year, on a pure talent level he likely still is with him falling behind guys like Reinbacher and Sandin Pellikka due to Russian circumstances. Gulyayev is an elite skater, not just fast but with excellent edgework that makes him able to maneuver at speed and breeze by players. He's got great hands and vision making him a dangerous passer in all three zones. These offensive attributes are combined with a great hockey sense that helps in positioning as well joining the rush and positioning. He does have a bit of an issue being overaggressive and sometimes leaving to early or over pursuing in the D zone, but those are fixable issues. He is small, only 5'10 which means he may take a little more time getting to the NHL. The bigger issue is as a Russian player it's unknown how much Flyers scouts have seen him and it's unclear how the geopolitical situation with Russian players will impact where he goes in the draft. If Russia didn't invade Ukraine Gulyayev could have been a top 10 pick, so if the Flyers like what they see he could be a steal.
Dmitri Simashev - D, 6'4, Lokomotiv Yaroslavl Organization - The other big Russian D prospect, and I mean big in both prominence and statue. Simashev is a big defensive defenseman, but skates almost as well as his 5'10 countryman Gulyayev. He is great at all the major defensive skills, his positioning is great, stick checks are quick and accurate, and he can be physical but he's not an overly dominating physical presence. The biggest drawback is there is almost no offensive upside. Given how strong of a skater he is you would think there would be more offense, but he is a weak puck handler which not only limits his offense but can lead to problems getting zone exits if its not figured out. Like with Gulyayev, the limited scouting, lack of best on best comparisons, and geopolitical issues make it difficult to guess where Simashev will go, and he could even slide out of the first round.
Otto Stenberg - F, 5'11, Frolunda - Stenberg is another really interesting prospect in this range. He has tons of talent, with great speed, great hands, and a great shot. He also has great intangibles, he's a smart player, a hard worker, and a great leader. With that kind of skillset he should be projected to go closer to 7th than 22nd, but he is projected to go 22nd or later by a majority of rankings. The reason being that he failed to impress not only at the SHL level but at the Swedish junior level as well. Not being able to stand out in a pro league at 17 isn't that strange, but perhaps a bit underwhelming given Stenberg's skills, but not putting it together in the junior league is a bit bigger of an issue. While he has struggled for his club Stenberg has been legendary for his country. At the U18s he finished with 16 points, right behind the great American trio, and tied the Swedish record for most points at a U18 (tied with Willie Nylander). The next highest scoring player on Sweden had 11 points, that gap being the biggest between 1st and 2nd scorers in the tournament. It was similar at the pre-season Hlinka-Gretzky tournament where Stenberg had 9 points in five games, with a four point gap between the second highest scorer. And like at U18's Stenberg had the second most points ever at a Hlinka tournament by a Swede. When Stenberg is going he's a superstar, but even when he's not he's still a reliable depth player. He could be Mitch Marner, or he could be Scott Laughton. While that may be a wide gap, drafting a boom/bust type where the "bust" is still a great depth player should be something the Flyers (and a lot of other teams) consider.
Samuel Honzek - C, 6'4, Vancouver Giants - Honzek is another member of the Slovak prospect Renaissance, but unlike guys like Slafkovsky, Nemec, or this year's Dalibor Dvorsky, Honzek made the jump over to North America for his pre-draft year. He could be looked at like a Slafkovsky-lite, though Honzek is slightly bigger. He has good speed, good skill, good physicality, and a great quick and heavy shot. His ability to play in tight spaces and get off a quick accurate shot makes him an ideal power forward, drawing comparisons to a player like Alex Tuch. He has defense and consistency issues, but he's also a smart player so those issues could be worked out as he develops. With this year's draft being heavy on smaller forwards I wonder if a team earlier in the draft grabs Honzek, after Leo Carlsson there are only 2-3 forwards 6'2 or over projected to go in the top 20, but if he's on the board he will definitely be someone the Flyers give a close look to.
Calum Ritchie - C, 6'2, Oshawa Generals - Ritchie was oddly a player I was hoping the Flyers avoided most of the season, because I don't think he has 7th Overall talent. But he could be a very interesting option at 22nd, if he gets there. Ritchie is a big bodied but not overly physical two way center. That two-way center thing is what made me dread the Flyers reaching for him in the top 10, but the fact that Ritchie compliments his two way abilities with great playmaking, anchored by excellent vision and a good set of hands make him more than a one dimensional defense-first center. He is not a particularly fast player, while this draft class has a number of guys that aren't really plus skaters, most of the guys expected to go in the late teens-early 20s are pretty speed which would hurt Ritchie. He also does not have a great shot and often defers opportunities to shoot. It's an odd comparison, but think of him as a taller more defensive Morgan Frost. That could be just the type of player the Flyers are looking for long term.
Quentin Musty - LW, 6'2, Sudbury Wolves - Musty was the 1st Overall pick in the OHL draft and has the skills to show off why. He has a great shot, very good hands, and combines good speed and vision to be a great playmaker - all this leading to him having the highest ppg for a U18 in the OHL this season. All that in a 6'2 frame makes for quite the intriguing prospect. The problem with Musty is that he is not always engaged and can sometimes float around. He is not particularly good defensively and is not really physical. Right now he's a fairly one dimensional player, a boom/bust type where he could have a higher potential than someone like Stenberg or Honzek, but couldn't play the same depth role they could. But if the Flyers believe in that high end potential and that Torts and the Org could shake out any bad habits they could see taking him as less of a risk.
One interesting thing to consider is that there is a wide variety of skill sets, sizes, and potentials with these players listed so far. The players around 7th Overall are similar in that it's a very diverse group of players. Who the Flyers take at 7th Overall and 22nd Overall will give us a good idea of what attributes the new front office values most, if most of the players discussed are available.
Reach I say "Reach" but at this point in the draft there is usually more differences in pre-draft rankings and what actually happens. Plus pretty much every player in this draft has a wide range of rankings, with some players that are in the "Wheelhouse" for 7th Overall being ranked lower than 22nd, and every player in this "Reach" section being ranked higher than 22nd Overall in at least one ranking. So when I say "Reach" I'm referring to players ranked 26th or lower in the Elite Prospects consolidated rankings.
Gavin Brindley - RW, 5'9, Michigan - Brindley carved out a place on an absolutely stacked Michigan team and earned a spot on the US World Junior team. Brindley has a ton of skill with great hands and some creative passing, and along with a high level of speed and acceleration, and paired with a high compete level and good defensive play. This combination of factors has lead some people, such as Corey Pronman at The Athletic, to rank him as high at 8th. His big problem? He's only 5'9. He's also not a remarkable shooter like other undersized recent forwards like Caufield and DeBrincat. Outside of games on TV I actually saw Brindley live this season and he can be an absolute force on the ice, he stood out Michigan almost as much as Fantilli and can overwhelm opponents with his speed and tenacity. Maybe Briere will see something of himself in Brindley and take a shot on the little guy.
Daniil But - LW, 6'5, Lokomotiv Yaroslavl Organization - But is the biggest player listed here and if he goes in the first round he will very likely be the biggest guy taken. He is similar to Honzek in that he has great size, can win battles, and has a big shot that could make him an asset. But But is also Russian leading to a lot of complicating factors already mentioned, not to mention he has an acceleration issue even if his top speed and edgework is solid. The only way I see the Flyers going with But is if they have their heart set on Honzek and he gets taken at 21st overall.
Lukas Dragicevic - D, 6'2, Tri-City Americans - Dragicevic is a great skating offensive RHD who put up great numbers in the WHL this season with 75 points in 68 games. He's got good instincts when joining the rush and has the speed to make up for mistakes on the back check. But as you can guess seeing these insane offensive numbers on a guy projected to go late in the first round there are some defensive issues. He can be over active in the D zone pushing himself out of position, or he can lose focus and puck watch and fall behind, leading to potentially the worse combo for a defenseman. If the Flyers think they could work through those issues they may think they have a steal, but time will tell if Dragicevic turns into a Shea Theodore, Michael Del Zotto, or a David Rundblad.
Oliver Bonk - D, 6'1, London Knights - Bonk is a RHD who will likely be more of a defensive defenseman in the NHL. Projected more as a 2nd rounder Bonk could move up into the first given the lack of defenseman in the first round. But Bonk's high hockey IQ, positioning, and ability to create turnovers on defense make him an interesting pick. If the Flyers are dead set on a defenseman with this second pick, and don't want to risk taking a Russian, I could easily see them taking Bonk over Dragicevic.
Goalies Taking goalies can certainly be risky in the first round. Recently first round goalies have been fairly hit and miss with guys like Jake Oettinger and Spencer Knight looking like potential franchise goalies, Samsonov looking streaky or serviceable, and the jury still being out on Askarov, Cossa, and Wallstadt but they are each showing mixed results. Still, with the Flyers potentially moving Hart or at least thinking about it, now would be the time to look at drafting a goalie considering their longer timelines and the fact that there are some pretty talent guys available. The Flyers not having another pick until 87th could also affect this as the three top goalies listed should all be off the board by then. I'm going to look at three goalies who all have potential to be first rounders, though it's unlikely more than any one guy ends up in the first round.
Michael Hrabal is a 6'6 Czech playing in the USHL. He put up solid numbers for a pretty terrible Omaha Lancers team and very good numbers for an underwhelming Czech U18 team. He is very fluid in his motion for such a big guy and uses that size when battling to make saves. He will be playing at UMass next season who is noted for usually having a strong defense. That could allow him to develop without having to keep his team in games.
Carson Bjarnason is the archetypal goalie. 6'3, great at tracking pucks, and great moving around in his crease. Like Hrabal he played on a bad junior team with the Brandon Wheat Kings, and while his stats weren't impressive most places I've see say he has all the skills to build into the perfect pro goalie. He'll also likely backstop Canada's world junior team the next two seasons.
Trey Augustine - Speaking of starting for World Junior teams, Augustine has already won a Bronze medal at World Juniors for Team USA, along with winning Gold at the U18s. At 6'1 Augustine is a bit undersized, and with any undersized goalie that means his positioning, agility, and reactions need to great to compete at a high level. If Augustine was 6'3 I think he would be a shoe in for a top 16 pick as his athleticism and precision make him a great puck stopper. Augustine will be joining Michigan State this upcoming season, re-teaming with his former NTDP coach who has started drawing some of his old players back through the transfer portal. Augustine could turn Michigan State into a force to reckon with in a tough Big Ten.
Who Should/Will They Take A couple of things I want to mention. One is I think there is a chance the Flyers move up or down, they have assets and depending how things shake out as it gets closer to their pick they could jump up or slide back. Also, I know a lot of people will believe that with two picks the Flyers should take a forward and a defenseman, but given the players available I don't know if the Flyers should go in with that logic. Reinbacher and Sandin Pellikka are both more middle first round pick type players than 7th Overall and I think it would be mistake to reach for them. Similarly, outside of the Russians, Dragicevic and Bonk are more late first/early second round players and the Flyers would have to reach past more talent and well rounded forwards to get them. And frankly I don't think the Flyers will take one of the Russians, based largely on the fact they probably haven't scouted them as thoroughly as they'd like.
Who I think they'll take and who I want them to take is actually the same person,
Otto Stenberg. The Flyers usually have more eyes and put more emphasis on international tournaments where Stenberg has shined. If he's off the board the guy I'd be most interested in is
Gulyayev or
Brindley, but the guy I think they'd go with is
Ritchie, but if Ritchie is also off the board I think they actually go with
Bonk.
For the draft overall, I think the best value for selection would be if Michkov and Gulyayev fell, the Flyers would be getting a first overall talent (in most other years) and a top 10 talent at 7th and 22nd. But I think there is little chance the Flyers take any Russians and almost no chance they take two. My ideal situation would be to take
Zach Benson at 7th OA and
Otto Stenberg as 22nd OA, while I think
Ryan Leonard at 7th OA and either
Stenberg or
Calum Ritchie at 22nd OA is who they will take. Actually, between this and my 7th Overall preview I've covered 29 players, so the Flyers will probably take one of the few guys I didn't cover like Nate Danielson or Ethan Gauthier haha.

2023.06.07 21:24 Sylver713 Hunger Games : A new Generation (119th Hunger Games, part 2)
Day 1:
Few of the tributes got much sleep that night. The parties all throughout the Capitol did not end until dawn, and the noise could be heard in the accommodation building. Vannery and Carton ate breakfast slowly, like zombies. They were subsequently taken to the holding rooms. Organza wished Carton good luck before accompanying Vannery in her cell. She kept trying to reassure her as she put on her beige shorts and t-shirt. The young girl attached her hair with a purple ribbon that had been provided and climbed into the glass tube. Organza hugged her one last time, feeling her tears soaking her shoulder.
It was Platonia Travers who accompanied Carton. She muttered to herself about the outfit choice for this year. She tried to be cold to the boy, but she accepted to help him tie the purple ribbon to his wrist. He gave her a sad smile : âI probably wonât come back, but itâs nice to know that everyone in the Capitol isnât heartless.â Platonia stood, mute, as the boyâs platform started to rise. She couldnât keep the tears in this time.
A few cells over, the atmosphere was as morose. Alexandra had finally deigned to discuss their strategy with Delta. She accepted his plan of staying on the sidelines while he ran to the cornucopia. Still, he looked at her suspiciously and hounded her about working together for the whole breakfast. Halifax gave Delta one last pill to combat the morphling withdrawal, assuring him that the only symptoms he would experience were a mild headache and maybe some stiffness. He subsequently accompanied him to his holding room while Sean Callahan went with Alexandra.
Halifax took advantage of being alone with his mentee : âYou shouldnât trust her. I know these kinds of girls. They look harmless, but theyâll stab you in the back as soon as you let down your guard.â
âBut-butâŚâ
âYou like her, huh ? Too bad, she doesnât. So, man up and move on !â
Delta did not know what else to say. He climbed into the glass tube in silence, his brows forming a single black line over his dark eyes.
In the next holding room, another conversation was happening. âYou donât plan on allying with Delta, do you ?â asked Sean Callahan. Alexandra looked away coyly. â I have other plans⌠With Angelo, we have an agreement.â
The mentor sighed, but he did not criticize the girl. He just told her to be prudent. You couldnât trust careers. Alexandra nodded then flinched as the glass tube started descending from the ceiling.
The first thing she noticed as she rose into the arena was the noise. She hadnât even emerged that she could hear a cacophony of bird songs. It was almost deafening, and she covered her ears before protecting her eyes from the sunlight.
The racket made Deltaâs headache intensify. He first looked to his sides ; Hattie (3) cowered on the left while Angelo (2), on the right, was focusing on the cornucopia. This year, it had been made out of a thin weave of golden metal, almost like a very shiny basket. After this zoom on the cornucopia, the cameras started moving around to show off the arena. The tributes stood in the clearing of a dense rainforest. The terrain was relatively flat, with a few creeks and an explosion of colorful flowers. The main attraction of it was the birds, however, as thousands of them fluttered about, sang, and screamed.
As Carton looked around for his allies, Head Gamemaker Vishwa welcomed the tributes and wished the odds to be ever in their favor before starting the 30 seconds countdown. With Borea (5) and the girl from 10 to his sides, he didnât feel safe. He finally found what he was looking for, but he didnât like that his allies were so spread out. He made eye contact with Rivage and Vannery but was unable to see Sardine, who stood on the opposite side of the cornucopia.
Vannery caught sight of her district partner, as well as Sardine. She gave them a small wave, but made the mistake of looking to her left, where Perfecto (1) was sneering at her. Georges (N), on the other side, was just as intimidating. Instead, she looked straight ahead. As the countdown reached ten, she spotted a coil of rope on the outside of the cornucopia.
Delta had been pondering, unsure if it was worth entering the bloodbath. Alexandra, who happened to be just two podiums over, winked at him. She then pointed to the cornucopia. He understood. At that moment, the countdown reached zero. He sprinted to the center of the clearing, expecting her to follow, but she stayed on her podium.
On later replays, it was shown that Alexandra was winking at Angelo and not her district partner. As the boy from 2 sprinted forth to the cornucopia, the girl waited for a few seconds. She moved only when most of the other tributes were too occupied and grabbed a knife as well as a small bag of food. Angelo acted like he helped the other career tributes in order to pick up weapons and supplies, but as soon as they were occupied, he joined Alexandra. The pair was actually one of the first to leave the clearing, not counting Circuit (3) and the pair from 10 who had run away immediately.
When Vannery realized that she was running side to side with Perfecto (1), she immediately changed course and ran to Carton. She had to give up on the rope but managed to pick a water bottle off of the corpse of the boy from 9, who had just been stabbed by Glare (9).
If the career pack didnât notice the disappearance of one of theirs, it wasnât the case for Delta. When he saw his district partner escape with Angelo, he became enraged. He tried to exit the cornucopia. Fraxen then attacked him to try and steal his backpack. Delta threw him to the ground and punched him so hard it broke his neck. Now he had lost trace of Alexandra. As the fighting started to die down, he ran in a random direction.
Carton had dodged one of Glareâs knives and grabbed a bag of food and an unwieldy lance before Vannery and Rivage joined him. The trio heard Sardine scream from the other side of the cornucopia. Carton wanted to go and help her, but a second gargled wail convinced him that they couldnât do anything else, especially since Proserpina (2) had now retrieved her axe from Sardineâs chest. As they left, they could hear the crunching of Oraâs neck (12) at the hands of Georges (N).
Meanwhile, Alexandra and Angelo were already far away, giggling at each other. It was only after Perfecto had stabbed Hattie (3) to death that the career pack noticed Angeloâs absence, but they didnât seem bothered by it.
Delta was halfway to the perimeter when the five bloodbath cannons sounded. He was still seething, and the running helped him calm down. Eventually, he collapsed on the side of and old mossy tree, out of breath. Once he was a little better, he explored his surroundings. The big tree had a hole in his roots where Delta could fit, although it was a squeeze. He decided to stay there for now and used moss to hide himself. He also put some in his ears, which helped with his headache.
Carton, Rivage and Vannery had been running in the opposite direction. They wanted to put the most distance between themselves and the other tributes. They stopped long after the bloodbath cannons had sounded. They set up camp a few hundred feet away from the Northern part of the perimeter, next to a creek. Carton helped Rivage to take inventory. He had the lance, Rivage had gotten a trident, and between the three of them they had enough food to last two days at most. The bottle Vannery had taken was only half full, but the water of the creek was clear and drinkable.
The trio decided to stay put. Vannery and Carton would work on a shelter while Rivage fished for their dinner, as they had agreed to during training. In the early afternoon, they heard hurried footsteps coming their way. The boys readied their weapon, protecting Vannery between the two of us. Circuit (3) came running into their little encampment, which took him by surprise. He skidded to a halt and turned around as quickly as heâd arrived, leaving the trio dumbfounded.
Angelo and Alexandra had quite enough supplies to last a while. He held a sword in his hand and an âemergency axeâ strapped to his back, while Alexandra held two knives. At first, they wanted to get away from the careers, but Alexandra eventually convinced Angelo to follow them from afar. They werenât really hard to track, their bickering could be heard over the constant chatter of the birds. The noise also covered them. Proserpina, Glare and Perfecto were circling around the central clearing, slowly moving away from it. In the late afternoon, they discovered Forger (12) who was lying unconscious. He had received a deep wound during the bloodbath and was now at the mercy of the other tributes. Proserpina killed him.
The subsequent cannon surprised Vannery. She had climbed on top of a tree to get a view of the arena, and the sudden sound almost made her loose her grip. She didnât fall, but while reaching her hand for a hold, she grabbed something warm and spherical. It crumbled and a viscous liquid dripped onto her finger. She looked up. She had inadvertently grabbed an egg from a nest. She was silent a moment, and a bright purple starling looked at her. âOh no !â she whispered to herself. The bird screamed louder than she thought possible. Then it attacked.
All the birds in a radius of 50 feet coalesced into a multicolored tornado. Vannery fell to the ground, fortunately not hurting herself on the way down, and a feathery mass started clawing and pecking at her. They also attacked Carton and Rivage, who had been chilling at a distance. They batted the volatiles away, trying not to get scratched. Vannery managed to get up and run to the makeshift tent they had built. She picked up Cartonâs lance and swung it, hitting some of the birds. She swung a second time and hit the metallic water bottle with a resounding CLANG! It seemed to stun the birds, but Vannery was too busy keeping them out of her face. Carton, however, noticed their reaction to the noise. He shouted loudly and flailed his arms : âMake noise ! They donât like noise !â. Just his screaming was enough though. Eventually, the three tributes managed to drive the mutts out by hitting their weapons against rocks and the water bottle and screaming as loud as they could.
Delta also had an encounter with some angry birds. Those were red, with a long curvy beak and fearsome talons, but he managed to kill them all with a big branch he used as a bat. He then ate them, cooked over a small fire. Argus berated him for building a fire that could alert the other tributes to his location. However, the âAviary Jungleâ as it had been baptized by Urania Whimsiwick herself, was way too dense for anyone to see the smoke.
As the sun started to set, Delta squeezed himself back into his root hole, being careful to camouflage himself with moss. He held his branch in front of him just in case. An hour later, two cannons sounded in quick succession. They belonged to the pair from 10, who had had the great idea of making an omelet. The flock did not appreciate thatâŚ
When the sun started to set, Angelo suggested he and Alexandra find a place to sleep, preferably away from the career pack. She agreed, so they stopped following. They looked for a safe spot in the light of the dusk, eventually settling on the middle of a tight thicket. It was complicated to get inside, but the small space was comfortable, and the pair even had a view of the darkening sky. They ate some food then laid down, hand in hand. âYour district partner doesnât seem to mind that you ditched herâ joked Alexandra.
âI donât think she cares. Maybe they believe Iâm dead. But theyâre not looking for us at least.â
âI think Delta is, though. You should have seen his face when he saw us. I almost feel bad about leading him on.â
âDonât worry, weâll get rid of him if he isnât dead yet.â
âIâm sure heâs feeling the same thingâ, responded Alexandra before going to sleep. Angelo kept the first watch.
In another section of the arena, Carton took the first watch. He had spent the remaining hours of daylight cleaning his wounds, along with Rivage and Vannery. The two of them slept, hoping to feel better the next day.
A little before midnight, Rivage awoke. He came to sit next to Carton, and the boys talked about their families, their school. Suddenly, a cannon sounded. It belonged to Ulma (7), who had stumbled upon Quinoaâs (9) camp by accident. The younger girl had not hesitated to stab a pointy branch in Ulmaâs throat. This cannon prompted Carton to go to sleep, Rivage taking second watch.
At midnight, the hymn of Panem resounded in the arena and the portraits of the 9 fallen appeared in the sky : Hattie (3), Sardine (4), Fraxen and Ulma (7), the boy (9), both (10), Ora and Forger (12). This left 17 tributes after an eventful and interesting day.
Day 2:
Delta didnât sleep much that night. The uncomfortable position coupled with a strong headache meant that he was up before the sunrise. As the first hints of blue appeared to the east, Delta got up. He needed to occupy his mind. The moss had stuck to his clothes, and he decided to take advantage of it. He caked his face and hands in mud and used it to stick more moss to his clothes. Urania commented that he looked like a green Orang-utang, which prompted laughter in the Capitol. Once he was fully camouflaged, he started roaming the arena. Stealthily at first, but as the sun rose and the birds started their cacophony as well, he allowed himself to move a little faster.
Alexandra and her district partner had spent a restful night. As she awoke, she was surprised to be cuddling with Angelo. Her rousing awakened him, and he turned around to look at her, puzzled. âI guess youâre the little spoonâ, she joked. They ate cereal bars in awkward silence. Soon, the voices of the career pack walking in their direction prompted the pair to hide. Proserpina and Perfecto were loudly arguing about someone stealing their water bottles. Unbeknownst to them, it had been Glare who had hidden them in her own bag.
As they moved away from her, Alexandra suggested they follow the trio like the day before. Angelo thought it was a safe strategy as long as they kept their distances. They made their way out of the thorny thicket and followed. A few minutes later, a scream warned them that something was going on. It was Glare (1). Sheâd walked into a trap laid by Georges the day before and was now hanging upside down from a rope. Perfecto started to help her, but the stolen bottles fell from her bag, along with a few hidden knives and more food. Instead of killing her, as Perfecto wanted to do, Proserpina convinced him to leave her there. She screamed and screamed. Proserpina and Perfecto left her there wiggling. Before Alexandra and Angelo could arrive, the thin rope holding up Glare by the ankle snapped. She fell headfirst on the ground and her cannon sounded. Alexandra winced, but Angelo told her that it was better this way, since you could survive for many hours hanging this way. Then another cannon sounded.
Delta had been unsuccessful for a few hours. He had avoided a couple of poorly made traps and fought off a flock of tiny yellow canaries but had been unable to find another tribute. Eventually, he decided to change tactics. He found a path that clearly looked like it was in use and hid in proximity. His ambush eventually worked. Lavandine (11) walked past him, clutching a meagre stick in her pale hands. She didnât even notice him getting up and following her, his branch raised. Many viewers thought it looked cartoonish, the tiny girl, followed by a big man with a club, not noticing anything. Glareâs cannon gave him the signal he expected, and he swung at her head. Lavandine flew and crashed into a patch of ferns. Her head was bloody, but she was still alive. Delta walked up to her in order to finish what he had started. The cameras cut to another group of tributes.
For the whole morning, Vannery, Rivage and Carton had been staying put. They foraged, fished, and built rudimentary spears just in case. Vannery climbed trees, very carefully in order not to disturb any more birds, so she could spot any tributes. Eventually she did, a little after midday. The pair from district 5 was heading their way. They were armed.
Vannery transmitted the information to the boys, who debated leaving or fighting. âLetâs fight !â said Vannery. There were 3 of them against 2, and they had weapons. Carton had his lance, Rivage his trident, and her⌠a spear and a rock would do the trick. So, they waited for what felt like a century. As soon as Borea and Zapp entered their field of vision, they attacked. The pair was surprised, but not enough to let themselves be killed that easily. Borea shouted at Zapp to run while she fended of Rivageâs trident with her sword. She had wrapped metal coil all around her arms, as she had seen on one of the older games. They clashed for an instant, enough time for her to disarm him, and then she ran too. On the way, she threw an egg sheâd hidden in her pocket to the group. A flock of angry sparrows was the distraction the pair from 5 needed to escape.
Proserpina and Perfecto seemed to have made up a little and were now actively hunting. Still, they werenât aware of the couple _ the âdouble A coupleâ as they were now called in the Capitol _ following them from afar. They dared not speak, but the looks they shared meant a lot more. They say love makes you blind, and maybe thatâs why Alexandra didnât see the orange and turquoise pheasant she walked on. It screamed and ran away, catching the attention of Proserpina. She turned around and shouted, âI knew it !â before charging at Angelo and her ally. Her first axe hit a tree a few inches above Alexandraâs head. She was hesitant to fight a career, but Angelo had already jumped into the fray and was now battling his district partner. So, she ran at Perfecto, who was lagging behind. He quickly turned around and sprinted when Proserpinaâs cannon sounded. Angelo had managed to stab her in the gut. The look of betrayal was still printed on her face as the hovercraft claw took her away.
The pair was unsure if they needed to pursue the boy from 1, as Angelo assured that he was an âego-inflated wimpâ . Instead, they rifled through the bag Proserpina had dropped and decided to rest a little. They could have stayed there longer if it hadnât been for the fireâŚ
After getting rid of the birds, the trio decided to keep following Zapp and Borea (5) in order to get their supplies. Vannery managed to track them thanks to their footprints and the trail of broken branches. They found them quite quickly. Indeed, the gamemakers had decided to trigger a forest fire in order to move the tributes around a little. This explained why they had seen so many birds flying away. The pair from 5, however, had found themselves cornered on three sides by the flames, and the last side was where Carton and his allies arrived from.
Rivage thrusted his trident straight into Boreaâs back, sounding her cannon. Cartonâs lance, however, flew past Zapp and into the fiery inferno. The boy from 4 barely had the time to pick up his trident before a tree fell, smashing into the boy from 5 and sounding his cannon. As other trees started to creak and groan, Vannery led the boys back to the creek, where she believed the water would keep them safe.
Delta ran as soon as he smelled smoke. He ended up in a small clearing in the Southern part of the arena. As the grass quickly burned, he jumped into the flames. Many viewers gasped, thinking he had just killed himself, but he just ran a few seconds then stopped. Argus explained that the fire had been controlled in a way that it burned quickly and extinguished itself just as fast. From his spot of scorched earth, Delta was safe for now. From the sky descended a small silver parachute bearing the number 6. It contained a water bottle and some aspirin. Delta was the only one to use this strategy successfully. A few minutes after him, Circuit (3), who was shorter and weaker, tried. He fell face first into the fire and did not get up, his cannon sounding a few moments later.
Angelo and Alexandra were some of the closest to the central clearing, so it was after the three cannons that the fire reached them. They ran. Angelo was practically flying but the fire was catching up to Alexandra. Another tree cracked. It crashed onto the girl, pinning her legs to the ground. Thankfully, it was a much younger tree, and it did not cause her much more damage. For an instant, Alexandra thought the boy from 2 would just keep running. That he would be glad to get rid of yet another opponent. But he turned around. He used his axe as a lever, bending it in the process, to get the girl free. Then he picked her up onto his back and ran again. Angelo was not a very muscular tribute, but he proved to be quite a strong one.
Neither Carton, nor his allies had suffered any injury thanks to Vanneryâs quick thinking. The creek was wide enough to protect them from the flames, and they avoided any falling branch. Quinoa (9) had had the same idea. She internally debated reaching the small group, but eventually decided not to. In the late afternoon, it started to rain, revealing that many of the trees and plants of the forest were actually fireproof. It was much sparser now, but the rain cleaned off the soot and, soon enough, the forest was green again.
Rivage, Vannery and Carton huddled together. They stayed that way for the whole evening, until Carton took the first watch while the other two went to sleep.
Delta was almost unharmed too, apart from a few minor burns on his ankles. The aspirin had taken effect, and for once in a long time, he felt totally clear headed. He hoped his district partner had died today.
The fire had changed the landscape quite a lot. What used to be a lush jungle was now less green. The ground was visible in most places, and the humidity levels had gone down. The sky was more visible. It also meant that the traps set by Georges and Odette (N) on the first day were either destroyed or very conspicuous. The boy from 6 avoided them all.
Delta found a pond where he cleaned himself from the soot and the half-charred moss. The fresh water also soothed his burns. He ended up settling close by, between two fallen trees.
Angelo and Alexandra, however, had suffered many burns. Fortunately, as they were setting camp and trying to remove their singed clothes, a silver parachute descended over them. It contained two containers of oil, as well as a blanket and a note from Angeloâs mentors, which he did not show to Alexandra. It would later be revealed that it scolded him for keeping his plan of betraying the career pack secret. The oil was perfumed and designed to almost instantly heal burns. It worked a charm. As the massaging continued, the two tributes started to get more and more steamy. They were intimate that night.
While they were busy, the portraits of the fallen appeared in the sky. The second day of the games had seen the loss of Glare (1), Proserpina (2), Circuit (3), Borea and Zapp (5), and Lavandine (11). This left only 11 tributes for the third day, with better odds now that a few strong tributes were gone.
Day 3:
On the morning of the third day, an announcement was made by Head Gamemaker Vishwa. She informed the tributes that a feast would be held at noon, three hours from now. The 11 surviving boys and girls would find supplies they desperately needed there. She then wished everyone a glorious day and the dampened sound of the birdsongs came back in full force.
The announcement awoke Delta, but he decided not to go to the Feast. He still had food and a source of water nearby, as well as his heavy branch. A real weapon would have been nice, but he didnât feel safe going to the central clearing. Instead, he decided to just sleep more. He only woke up again when the first cannon sounded.
As for the couple, they were lost in bliss. Their show from the previous night had to be censored, although it was available for those who had enough âconnectionsâ. Letâs just say that it was quite memorable, and cemented Angelo and Alexandraâs place as favorites. They got ready after a long cuddling session, grabbing their bags and their weapons and heading to the cornucopia. They arrived with minutes to spare. Actually, they were the last tributes to arrive.
Vannery had been the first on site, scouting for other tributes. Once she had been sure the coast was clear, she had signaled to Rivage and Carton that they could come. They hid in the bushes nearby; this area having been spared from the fires. Little by little, other tributes started to arrive. Kumquat (11) hid behind a tree, Perfecto (1) stood in the open, Odette and Georges (N) huddled together.
As Quinoa (9) and the âDouble A coupleâ finally arrived, the cornucopia started receding into the ground. It reappeared at once, and a bell rang.
Vannery stayed behind. She watched all the tributes run to the center where laid 8 numbered bags, including Carton and Rivage. The fighting raged in the cornucopia. Her allies attacked Alexandra and Angelo, as Kumquat escaped with his bag. Quinoa (9) almost got out, but Perfecto (1) caught her by the ponytail and stabbed her in the throat, sounding her cannon. He then picked up her bag in addition to his.
Alexandra and Angelo fought side to side, covering each other. She scared Odette (N) away, while he pushed back against Rivage. The boy from 4 tried to hit Alexandra again, but her ally caught the trident and almost tore it out of Rivageâs hands. Instead of trying again, he attacked Georges. The trident hit him in the back and sounded his cannon a few seconds later. Angelo took advantage of this distraction to slash at Carton with his sword, causing the boy from 8 to bleed out.
Vannery screamed and ran out of her hiding place, almost colliding with Odette (N) on the way. Rivage grabbed the district 4 and district 8 bags in one hand, and Vanneryâs arm in the other, and they ran away together. The young girl cried and struggled to keep up the pace. She wanted to go back, but Cartonâs cannon sounded, ruining her hopes.
Angelo and Alexandra were the last tributes to get their bags. One of Perfectoâs knives punctured Alexandraâs. The pair turned back, giving Kumquat (11) enough time to flee. They chased Perfecto into the woods. He was quick, however, and they had a hard time gaining on him.
The following hours were very quiet, boring, even, so Urania and Argus invited a few guests to discuss the bloodbath and the tributesâ different strategies. It was only in the late afternoon that Delta deigned getting up. He was well rested. He ate what remained of his food and started camouflaging himself once again in order to hunt. The tributes were now very spread out, however, and it appeared that Delta was in an area devoid of them. He walked until it got too dark to continue, before letting out a scream of rage. His sudden outburst scared some resting birds. They flew away and hit Kumquat (11) square in the face as he was in the process of climbing up one of the taller trees. The surprise caused him to lose his grip and he fell to his death a few feet away from Delta, his Feast bag laying next to him. Suddenly, Delta laughed and thanked the birds. He emptied the contents of the bag, glad to find some fresh food and water. He settled right there for the night.
Angelo and Alexandra eventually gave up on hunting Perfecto. Every time they thought they heard him; it turned out to be another bird. He was nowhere to be found. The pair settled down near a creek, right where Carton and his allies had camped earlier, in order to clean themselves. It was another spectacle to behold. The couple played in the fresh water, wearing only their underwear, and at one point, Alexandra winked at one of the cameras. This resulted in the appearance of a sponsor gift a few seconds later. She caught it and opened it discreetly once she was dressed again. She checked that Angelo was busy with the campfire before peeking inside. There was a water bottle and a tiny, sheathed stiletto knife, about two inches long. There was also a note that said : âYou will only get one chanceâ â S. She acted nonchalant, thanked her sponsor for the water, and hid the knife in her sock. She took the first watch, jumping when a cannon sounded.
Since they had come back from the Feast, Vannery felt that Rivage was acting strange. He kept pacing and muttering to himself and seemed unhappy even though they had received enough supplies to last five more days in the arena at least. They found another place to sleep, Vannery built a new shelter. As she was about to go to sleep, Rivage approached her, trident in hand. He didnât speak, so she asked him what he wanted. âIâm sorr-â he started. Vannery interrupted him : âBehind you !â.
He spun around and threw his trident. It caught Perfecto in the head, sounding his cannon before he had hit the ground. He had been sneaking up behind Rivage with a knife in both hands, but Vannery had a keen eye. Rivage seemed to deflate. He cleaned up his weapon and went to sleep. Vannery tried to ask him what he wanted to tell her, but he didnât answer. Instead, she took the first watch.
At midnight, five portraits appeared in the sky : Perfecto (1), Carton (8), Quinoa (9), Kumquat (11) and Georges (N). The six remaining tributes were spread out around the arena : Rivage and Vannery to the East, Angelo and Alexandra to the North, Odette (N) in the South and Delta to the West.
Day 4:
The sound of a cannon startled Delta out of his slumber. He was feeling well rested and decided to head to the cornucopia with just his branch and a knife he had taken from Kumquat. With only 5 remaining tributes, he knew that the showdown was about to take place and was about as excited as the viewers in the Capitol for it to happen. On the way, he stumbled upon a suspicious mound of leaves. He almost let it be, until he saw two feet poking out of it. As he bent down to look at it, a sharp pain entered his shoulder blade. By pure reflex, he swung his club backwards, hitting a barefoot Odette (N) in the forehead. She stumbled backwards, clutching her knife, and tripped on a rock. Delta jumped onto her, planting his knee in her stomach, and stabbed her with her own knife. He added it to his âcollectionâ.
The atmosphere between Alexandra and Angelo had been quite tense since theyâd woken up. They hadnât slept so well. When the first cannon sounded, they set out to get to the cornucopia, and by the time the second cannon echoed throughout the arena, they were in position. âWeâll fight together, right ?â asked Alexandra. Angelo nodded solemnly : âUntil thereâs no one else. Iâm so glad I got to meet you.â
âMe too⌠Too bad one of us will have to die.â
As she said those words, a twig cracked in a nearby bush.
The first cannon had shocked the viewers quite a bit. As Rivage finished his watch, he looked at Vannery, asleep next to him. He murmured âIâm sorryâ, so low that it had to be subtitled. Then he plunged his trident in her throat. Before leaving, Rivage let out the longest sigh of relief.
Alexandra climbed onto the cornucopia, hiding herself, a length of rope held tight between her hands. She waited as Rivage entered the clearing. He was focused on Angelo. Delta appeared a few seconds later, on the other side of the cornucopia. He walked under it, oblivious to the girl awaiting him. As Angelo charged Rivage with his sword, Alexandra lowered the rope. Delta let out a choked growl as she pulled. He was much stronger, however. With one labored step, he yanked her off the roof. The rope was still around his neck, but his hands were now around Alexandraâs. Nevertheless, she held on to the rope, using it to hold him at bay. Just before she fell unconscious, she kicked him in the groin. She let out a few coughs, before grabbing the two ends of the rope again and pulling Delta against one of the steel columns of the cornucopia. Delta tried to stab her, but she was behind him, and he was quickly loosing consciousness. With one last brutal pull, the rope crushed his windpipe.
Alexandra watched Angelo dispose of Rivage with one final feint of his sword, and his cannon sounded at the same time as Deltaâs.
Silence fell on the clearing. Even the birds had shut up. The couple was breathing heavily. They hugged tight. Something glinted in Alexandraâs hand. She almost reached Angeloâs neck when he gripped her wrist. He smiled, but his eyes were full of sorrow. âI had to try at least !â she half-laughed, half-whimpered. He sat her down and hugged her once again. She told him that he deserved to win. That he was a good man. He took his swords and gently stabbed Alexandra in the heart. She barely cried as he looked into her eyes. A cannon sounded. The last one. Jahani Vishwa announced Angelo Clearfell, of district 2, as the victor of the 119th Hunger Games. He had to be forcefully removed form Alexandraâs corpse in order to be retrieved.
Aftermath:
The games took an immense toll on Angelo, who was unable to speak for more than a month. Even when he had gotten the use of his words back, he fell into a lengthy depression. His interview with Urania Whimsiwick and Argus Brown had to be cut short as soon as they mentioned Alexandra.
After that, he remained alone in his home of the Victorâs village. He received no guests and did not act as a mentor the following years. The other victors of his district described him as âdisillusionedâ and âa killjoyâ. The situation stayed the same until his disappearance two years later.

Once the Sony Pictures-produced movie ends its theatrical run, it will come to the most popular streamers, including Netflix and Disney Plus. But when is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse coming to Netflix and Disney Plus? Hereâs what you need to know.
'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse' features the return of Shameik Moore as Miles Morales and Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy. Just before the release of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, producers of the feature have announced a couple of other projects. Producer Amy Pascal has announced a forthcoming third installment titled Beyond the Spider-Verse expected to be released next year. That is not the only project announced.
Paint-on-glass, Realistic Cartoon-style to Japanese Manga, makers explore not a couple but way too many animation styles! Shameik Mooreâs Miles, in a way, gets a Star-Lord-like treatment in which he beautifully balances his character arc without overstepping the broader scheme of things. Hailee Steinfeldâs Gwen finally gets a chance to narrate her side of things, and it mixes well with the âstar-crossedâ relationship sheâs currently sharing with Miles.
If youâre like just about everyone else on the planet who saw Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse in 2018 and loved it, youâve probably been waiting for the sequel. You wonât be waiting long, as Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is finally coming out in 2023, a full five years later. Itâs been a long wait but by all indications the film is going to be a blast for fans of comic book movies, Miles Moralesâ version of Spider-Man, and this new animated franchise featuring the iconic webslinger.
Modern cinema has seen the gap between theatrical and streaming releases shorten dramatically, begging the question of when Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will release online. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, streaming releases have been much closer to the theatrical release of films. While the mid-COVID marketing technique of releasing movies in theaters and on streaming services at the same time for an extra price is a thing of the past, the gap between the respective releases is still considerably shorter than in decades past.
While we currently donât know the exact online release date for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, we do know the movie will be released in cinemas worldwide, including the US and UK, on June 2nd, 2023. We know where to watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse online, but do we also know when? We can guess once again, assuming it charts the same theater-to-streaming path as Into the Spider-Verse did in 2018 with two months between the theatrical release and its digital renting/buying services. You may be able to buy or rent the movie digitally as early as late July of this year, with a physical release roughly a month or so after that, if not sooner. This also means that you will probably be able to stream Spider-Man: Across on Netflix in early December 2023, as it took about six months from Into the Spider-Verseâs release before the movie landed on the streamer.
When Is the Release Date for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse?
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse was one of the many films to get hit by a delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic, moving from its original date of April 8, 2022, to October 7, 2022. That's the date seen in the above trailer, but the film has since seen another significant delay since then. Now the film is officially set for release on June 2, 2023. Hopefully, we won't see another delay, but if it means getting a sequel that lives up to the sky-high heights of the original, we'll gladly wait.
Is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse in Theaters?
Not only was Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse the subject of rave reviews, but it also pulled in some gargantuan levels of cash at the international box office, with a final tally that quadrupled the film's ninety-million dollar budget. With incredible success like that, it's only natural that Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse would also be taking advantage of a theatrical release. That is the case, as the upcoming film will be exclusively available in theaters when it premieres on June 2nd, 2023.
When is 'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse' streaming?
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse The home distribution rights for Across the Spider-Verse are in a rather interesting place. In April 2021, it was reported that Sony Studios had signed a multiyear deal with both Netflix and Disney for shared streaming rights to Sony films coming out between 2022 and 2026. This deal includes Across the Spider-Verse as well as the third film in the series, Beyond the Spider-Verse, due out in March 2024.
As for releases like Across the Spider-Verse, the film will be available on Netflix with "first-pay-window-rights" for the first 18 months of its home media release. While it will not be streaming concurrently with its theatrical release, it will be available on Netflix following its theatrical run.
Some of the films are not currently available on the service because Sony has pre-existing partnerships with Starz, as that's where most of the absent films are available to stream. That is except for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which is instead only streaming on Fubo TV and FX Now.
For anyone else looking to watch the film as soon as possible, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be released in theaters on June 2.
How to Watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse
At the moment, you can watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse at your local theater. But like most movies these days, it should hit a streaming website in the near future.
Like its predecessor, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is a flick produced by multimedia conglomerate Disney. What's more, the production studio owns a number of other famous franchises, like the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Star Wars. Titles made under these umbrellas have both hit Disney+ sometime after arriving at the box office. Fans may also know the original Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is currently available to stream on the site as well. So, if the 2023 version follows the same pattern, folks will likely get to see Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse on Disney+ later this year too.
As for an exact release date for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, that's more complicated. Most movies produced by Disney often go to its streamer site within three months after debuting in theaters, like the most recent Marvel film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. If this is the case for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, it will probably drop in late August 2023 or sometime near Labor Day in early September.
When the time comes for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse to splash onto Disney+ though, make sure you're all prepared to watch it. If you don't have access yet, you can opt into a 30-day free trial before choosing a plan that start at $7.99 per month or $79.99 per year. After your account is all set, click on the title page on Disney+'s official website or the Disney+ app.
As you wait for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse to hit the streamer, why don't you watch the animated version and its sequel Spider-Man: into the Spider-Verse? Or if you want to immerse yourself in another live-action version, click on the 2019 ABC TV special Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Live!. Enjoy!
Where To Watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Online:
As of now, the only way to watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is to head out to a movie theater when it premieres on June 2, 2023. You can find a local showing on Fandango.
Otherwise, youâll just have to wait for it to become available to rent or purchase on digital platforms like Amazon, Vudu, YouTube or Apple, or become available to stream on Disney+.
Is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse coming to Netflix?
Yes, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is coming to Netflix approximately in December 2023. In 2021, Sony and Netflix signed a five-year deal that gave the latter exclusive first-pay-window U.S. streaming rights for Sony Pictures titles after their theatrical and home entertainment windows. Fans can expect to watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse on Netflix six months after the filmâs theatrical release, thus in December 2023. The date seems reasonable considering that Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse dropped on Netflix on June 26, 2019, six months after its U.S. release on December 14, 2018. The pay-one window usually begins about nine months after a filmâs theatrical release, but it might start earlier in particular cases. This post will be updated once there is a 100% officially confirmed Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Netflix release date.
When Will Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse Be Available On Netflix?
Where will Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse stream specifically? Due to an ongoing deal between Netflix and Sony (remember that these movies are not produced by Disney), Across the Spider-Verse will see Netflix as the streaming home for the film when it finishes its theatrical run. It will no doubt make its way to Disney+ eventually, as Disney and Sony do have an agreement for Disney to include Sonyâs Spider-Man content in their offerings, but that will at least be some time after Across the Spider-Verse has come out on Netflix.
In terms of which of the streaming giants Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be released on, Netflix will house the film upon its streaming debut. While again, Sony does not have its own dedicated streaming service, a deal was struck in 2021 between the studio and Netflix. The deal, stating that Netflix would stream Sony's films after theatrical release, was penned for 5 years meaning Across the Spider-Verse is part of the arrangement.
Is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse coming to Disney Plus?
Yes, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is also coming to Disney Plus approximately in 2025.
Once the pay-one window runs its time and Netflixâs exclusive rights expire, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be available on Disney Plus. The pay-one window might last as long as 18 months, which means it will be a while before Disney Plus subscribers can watch the much-anticipated sequel. Unlike in other countries, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse isnât yet available on the Disney-owned streamer in the U.S.
While Sony's Spider-Man content is also streaming on Disney+, due to the collaborations between Sony and Marvel Studios in recent years, Across the Spider-Verse will be a Netflix release. While the deal struck between Marvel Studios and Sony may extend to this film, Disney+ is only allowed to begin streaming Sony's Spider-Man releases upon their release on Netflix. As a result, Netflix will be the first streaming service that Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be available on after its theatrical release.
Regarding when the film will be available on Netflix, the answer is less definitive. The first film, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, began streaming six months after its theatrical release. Based on this, it is safe to assume Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will see a similar gap between its cinematic and streaming releases. Given the film's theatrical release of June 2, 2023, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will likely begin streaming on Netflix in December 2023.
Will Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Be On HBO Max?
No, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will not be on HBO Max since itâs not a Universal Pictures movie. Last year, the company released its films in theaters and on the streamer on the same day. However, they now allow a 45-day window between the theatrical release and the streaming release.
Is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Available On Hulu?
Viewers are saying that they want to view the new animation movie Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse on Hulu. Unfortunately, this is not possible since Hulu currently does not offer any of the free episodes of this series streaming at this time. It will be exclusive to the MTV channel, which you get by subscribing to cable or satellite TV services. You will not be able to watch it on Hulu or any other free streaming service.

2023.06.07 21:12 JoshAsdvgi THE POWERFUL BOY
| THE POWERFUL BOY [SENECA] The Seneca, one of the Iroquois nations of the Northeast, have their own version of the all-conquering little one. ⢠A man and his wife lived with their five-year-old son in an ugly-looking lodge in the woods. One day the woman died giving birth to another boy, who was bright and lively but no longer than a person's hand. Thinking that the infant would not live, the father wrapped it carefully and placed it in a hollow tree outside the lodge. After that he burned the body of the mother. Then as he had done before, the man went hunting every day. The five-year-old played around the lodge by himself, feeling lonely. After a time he heard crying from the hollow tree, for the baby too was lonely, and hungry as well. When he discovered his little brother, the boy made him some soup from deer intestines, which the baby drank with relish. Much stronger, the newborn crawled out of the tree, and the two played together. The older brother made a little coat out of fawn skin; when he put it on, the baby looked like a chipmunk scampering around. When he came home, the father noticed that the deer intestines were gone and asked the boy what he had done with them. "Oh," said the child, "I was hungry." Seeing a small track of very short steps around the fire, the father said, "Here are a boy's tracks. Who is it?" So his son confessed that he had found his little brother in a hollow tree, and that he had given him soup and made him a fawn-skin coat. "Go and bring him," said the father. "He's shy; he won't come for anything," the boy said. 'Well, we'll catch him. Ask him to hunt mice with you in the old stump behind the hollow tree, and I'll get him." Gathering a great many mice, the man hid them in his clothes. Then he walked beyond the tree and crouched down so that he looked like an old stump. The boy went to the tree and called, "Come on, let's catch some mice." The baby climbed out, and they rushed around the stump catching mice. Wild with excitement, the tiny thing laughed and shouted; he had never had so much fun. Suddenly the stump turned into a man, who caught the little one ,in his arms and ran to the lodge. The infant screamed and struggled, but it was no use; he couldn't get away, and he would not be pacified until his father put a small club into his hand and said. "Now hit that tree." The baby struck a great hickory. The tree fell. Then he laid about him with the club, and everything he hit at was either crushed or killed. He was delighted and stopped crying. Now the baby stayed with his older brother while their father went hunting. "You must not go to the north while I'm away," the father told them. "Bad, dangerous people live there." But when the father had left, the tiny one said to his brother, "Oh, let's go north; I want to see what's there." The boys started off and walked until they came to wooded, marshy ground. Then they heard what sounded like many people calling, "My father! My fatherl" Actually they were frogs singing the frog song, "Nohqwa! Nohqwa!" "Oh, these people want to hurt my father!" the little boy cried. He fixed himself a pile of red-hot stones and, hurling them at the frogs, killed everyone. When the boys came home, their father was very angry. "You must not go again," he said. " And you must not go west; it's dangerous there too." But the next day when their father had left, the little boy said, "I want to see what's in the west; let's go there." So they traveled westward until they came to a tall pine tree, with a bed made of skins at the very top. "That's a strange place for a bed," the little boy said to his brother. "I'll climb up and look at it." Up he went. In the bed at the top he found two naked, frightened children, a boy and a girl. He pinched the naked boy, who called out, "Father, Father! Some strange child has come and scared me nearly to death!" Suddenly the voice of Thunder was heard in the far west. It rumbled toward them faster and faster until it reached the bed in the treetop. Raising his club, the little boy, the powerful one, struck Thunder and crushed his head, so that he fell dead to the ground. Then the boy pinched the naked girl, which made her call, "Mother! Mother! Some strange boy is tormenting me!" Instantly the voice of Mother Thunder sounded in the west and grew louder until she stood by the tree. The powerful boy struck her on the head as he had done with her husband, and she fell dead. The powerful one thought, "This Thunder boy would make a fine tobacco pouch for my father. I'll take him home." He struck the boy with his club and then threw both children to the ground. The two brothers went home, and the tiny one said, "Oh, Father! I have brought you a splended pouch!" "What have you done?" the father said when he saw the dead Thunder baby. "These ~thunders have never harmed us. They bring rain and do us good, but now they will destroy us to revenge their children." "Oh, they won't hurt us-I've killed the whole family," the powerful boy replied. So the father took the skin for a tobacco pouch, but he said, "You must never go north to the country where Stone Coat lives." The next day the older brother would not disobey his father, so the powerful boy headed north by himself. About noon he heard the loud barking of Stone Coat's dog, which was as tall as a deer. Thinking that the master must be close by, the little boy jumped into the heart of a chestnut tree to hide. The dog kept barking, and Stone Coat came up to look around. "There's nothing here," he said, but the dog barked and¡ stared at the tree. Finally Stone Coat struck the tree with his club and split it open. "WVhat a strange little fellow you are," Stone Coat said, looking at the boy as he came out. "You're not big enough to fill a hole in my tooth." "Oh, I didn't come to fill holes in your teeth. I came to go home with YOll and see how you live," said the boy. "All right, come on," Stone Coat said, and began walking with enormous steps. In his belt he carried two great bears, which seemed as small as squirrels. Once in a while he would look far down and say to the boy running by his side, "You're a funny little creature!" His lodge was huge and very long; the boy had never seen anything like it. Stone C.oat skinned the two bears, put one before his visitor, and otok the other for himself. "You eat this bear," he said, "or I'll eat you and him together." "If you don't eat yours before I eat mine, may I kill you?" asked the boy. "Oh, yes," said Stone Coat. The little boy cut off pieces of meat, cleaned them as fast as he could, and put them into his mouth. Then he ran out of the lodge to hide the meat. He kept running in and out, in and out, until all the flesh of his bear had disappeared. "You haven't finished yours yet," he said to Stone Coat. ''I'm going to kill you!" 'Wait until I show you how to slide downhill," Stone Coat said, and took him to a long, slippery hillside which ended in a cave. Putting the boy in a wooden bowl. Stone Coat sent him down at great speed. But presently the powerful boy ran up the slope again. "Where did you leave the bow!?" asked the surprised Stone Coat. "Oh, I don't know--down there, I suppose," the boy replied. "Well, let's see who can kick this log highest," said Stone Coat. "You try first," said the little one. The log was two feet thick and six feet long. Putting his foot under it, Stone C.oat kicked the log up twice his own height. Then the boy, slipping his foot under the log, sent it whistling through the air. It was gone a long time. Then it came down on Stone Coat's head and crushed him to death. "Come here," said the boy to Stone Coat's dog. The dog came, and the little one climbed on his back and rode home. "Now my father will have a fine hunting dog," he said. When the father saw the dog, he cried, "What have you done? Stone Coa t will kill us all!" "I have killed Stone Coat. He won't trouble us any more," replied the boy, the powerful one. "Now, boys," said the father, "you must never go to the southwest, the gambling place." But the next day about noon, the younger brother started walking southwest. He came to a beautiful opening in the woods, with a lean-to at the farther end. Sitting under the lean-to a man with a large head, much larger than a buffalo's, played dice for the heads of all who came along. He used wild-plumpits with designs on them for dice. Crowds of people were betting in groups of three. When they lost, as all did, the big-headed man put the three persons to one side. Then he played with three more, and when they lost he put them with the first three, and so on-until he decided that the number was large enough. Then he got up and cut all their heads off. As the boy approached, a number of people who had lost their bets were waiting to be killed. Hope came to them all, for they sensed that this child had great orenda-power, or medicine. The boy took his place, and the game began immediately. When the big-headed man threw the dice, the bay caused some to remain in the dish and others to go high, so that the dice came to rest with different designs showing. But when the boy threw, the dice turned into woodcocks, flew high, and came down as dice of the same design. The two played until the boy won back all the people and the gambler lost his own big head, for the boy instantly cut it off. The whole crowd shouted, "Now you must be our chief!" The boy said, "How could a little thing like me be a chief? Maybe my father would be willing to do it; I'll ask him." The boy went home with the story, but his father would not move to the land of gambling. "Now," said the father, "you must never go to the east, where they play ball." But the next day the boy traveled east until he came to a great, level country of beautiful plains. There the Wolf and the Bear clans were playing against the Eagle, the Turtle, and the Beaver clans. The boy took the side of the Wolf and the Bear. "If you win," they told him, "you will own all this country." They played, and the boy won. "Now,"they say, ' "you are the owner. " The powerful boy went home and told his father, "I have won all the beautiful country of the east; come and be chief of it." His father consented and moved with his two boys to the country of the east, and there they lived. Told by by Jeremiah Curtin and J. N. B. Hewitt around 1910. submitted by JoshAsdvgi to Native_Stories [link] [comments] |

2023.06.07 21:11 xDreamerNation Legal advice for custody
Hey all, I'm going to make this short by my going into so much detail.
My daughter was in the NICU, so I'm starting the story from after she was discharged btw.
Child's father was drank when he was around me pregnant and was hardly around, although I didn't mind that because he would be drunk around me. Sober only before his drug program and work. Drug program meaning he wasn't suppose to be drinking at all but he knew water or cranberry juice always did to drink to get a "pass".
When my daughter arrived from the NICU, he was only sober for a week or two, then back to business as usual, drinking and not being in the apartment, only when he had to sober up to go to work, or to take a shower. Fast forward to Feb. 19th into the 20th (late night & early moring), My daughter and i left due to a DV situation, with him being intoxicated, basically attacking me with my daughter in my arms, breaking my new TV, and choked me. I called my father to come get me, took my daughter and we left the apartment.
The last 2 weeks in March, we returned for my child's last couple of appointments as well as mines, and to pack the rest of my belongings. He was notified that we'll be back because I needed my key from him or for the door to be left opened, so we'll as letting him spend time with his child as he stated he'll be sober. When we returned, he walked through the door with another female, didn't bother me much because I've been drained and finished with him, it was just weird, he walked her out and came back inside intoxicated, and has been until his last day in the apt. We left 4 days after him, But in the frame, he wasn't there, and when he showed, he would be drunk and will chose to wake our child up because "all she does is sleep", the last time, she cried so much, he removed her pacifier, threw it to the side telling her she doesn't need it while she cried even more. He gave her back & she instantly calmed down.
Fast forward, anytime he calls, even before we left, I get anxious because the call is always him being drunk, disrespectful and I'm being cursed out. So to avoid that and have him still try to have a relationship with our child, I wanted him to text me first, that way I know he's sober, then if she's awake, he'll get a call. That was only done once and it wasn't in the beginning nor recently, other than that he refuses. We live about a 2hr drive away from NYC, I take care of my daughter with all of her needs, he does nothing.
He texts sometimes asking when he'll see her, I refuse to give him my address because I'm afraid of any drunken moments he may have, and I 100% believe he'll show up. He recently stated he had my address and can surprise us whenever he wants (I've only ever given him the city btw), but the made me nervous. He also threatened, for the 2nd time to send indecent photos to my mother (he only has her number).
I went to the police and was advised to get a restraining order (was denied, judge said he only wants to see his child), file for custody (I was told I have to file for child support first). My main issue, and I told child's father, I cannot be around him and be calm, I'll be anxious, my daughter really doesn't know him, and she screams when she's around persons she doesn't know, that's including some of my family that we hardly see. I've done months of playing nice or just simple answers with him before we went our separate ways to avoid conflict. You can't win with him no ways.
I've been searching the internet and waiting for call backs so I can't here. I plan on seeking sole custody and supervised visitation, and child support see as I have to. Text messages or our conversations are all I have but they're mainly me explaining how I felt (anxious, tired, done, etc), asking him to text first then call, saying how ill feel uncomfortable around him and we'll need a middleman. All in all, I'm not sure I'll be granted that, and I'm not sure what else to do

2023.06.07 21:06 _reddit_reader NCAA Baseball Super Regionals and College World Series Pools
Good afternoon everyone. Got a few more pools Iâve put together sort of last minute for the remaining 2 1/2 weeks of the NCAA Baseball Tournament. Would love to get as many whoâd like to join to join. If you have any friends, whether online or IRL, who you know might be interested, please send them these pools to join. We arenât playing for life changing or in most cases even day changing money, but I think most of us would agree that as beautiful as sports are, we all get a little bit more enjoyment out of them when we have a little something on the line. As always, if someone doesnât have leaguesafe and you canât pay for them, I can accept Venmo or cashapp as payment and pay into the pot on their behalf if thatâs easier for them.
Pools that start Friday, June 9 (2 days away!):
Second Chance Survivor:
https://www.leaguesafe.com/join/4113050 Same rules as first time.
Super Regionals Pick Em:
https://www.leaguesafe.com/join/4113058 Weekend 2 Super Regionals Pick Em. 1 point for picking correct team to win the weekend series and 1 point for correctly picking whether it will take 2 or 3 games. Also predict the total number of runs by each team in the series. Example: South Carolina defeats Florida in 3 games. Total runs: South Carolina: 19 Florida: 17 Because it is so unlikely, 20 points for guessing the exact number of runs scored for any team, 15 points for being 1 off, 10 points for being within 2, and 5 points for being within 3. This is a Super Regional Weekend contest only. So if all your picks for any given series were correct including being spot on with run predictions for each team, you could earn up to 42 points per series. This is a fun 1 weekend pick âem game.
Pools that start Friday, June 16 (College World Series Day 1!):
Get a random CWS team. Winner takes 70%, runner up takes 20%:
https://www.leaguesafe.com/join/4113094 Every CWS team assigned to one player. Winner take 70%, runner up take 20%. Randomized on random.org. I will either screen record or live stream (if I can figure out a good way to do it) me randomizing the teams. I donât know any of you in real life and I wonât allow myself to play so that thereâll be no question about me being unbiased in who gets what team. The first person to pay will start off with slot 1, the second person with slot 2, and so on. I will then start with the teams in alphabetical order and then randomize the teams 8 times (also the number of teams/players) and on the 8th time whatever team you get will be your team. Again, I will take 10% of the pot for organizing and not being eligible to play for the pot since some of you might think I was a shady commissioner if I wound up with the best team, which is the last thing Iâd want. You can buy multiple spots in this if you like. I will assign teams after everyone has paid AND this weekends results are final meaning we know the 8 teams who will be in the College World Series. The College World Series starts June 16.

Residents they use access cards to in in out out. I also don't know they put security guard here for what. You want me to stare into the air or see them tap the card go in. They got all the access card mah. They don't have the card, they cannot go inside. Anyway I not going to work security anymore. Wants to join https://maybe.sg/ like Mermaid (Nikki) Because once I join the website, I going to earn more than $10K per month. No more security job already. I join the renting friendship website. A lot of fans When people approach me take photos with me, they tell me they are big fans of me. You understand or not. So you don't insult me. Don't piss me off. Do you know when people approach me to take photos with me, they themselves tell me they are big big fans of me. BDBYZD. Not I ownself say. A lot of fans who take photos with me say "Kurt Tay, I am very very big fan of you". They say they watch all my videos. They say my content is very interesting. This is what a lot of fans who approach me to take photo say. You don't care with me and monkey. Don't piss me off. Monkey is different. They take photos with me. They tell me they are big fans of me. So thats the difference OK ? BDBYZD Many fans who approach me take photos, they themselves tell me they are my fans. They say my videos are so exciting. Very very exciting. They themselves tell me you know ? He say my videos so exciting. They say the love to watch my YouTube videos. A lot of people say your content very good. Keep it up. If the boss of the website is smart enough, confirm he will accept me. Unless he is stupid then he will reject me. Because I am a superstar. If he smart enough, he will let me join his website. When you ownself do the thing is a bit harder. Why the mermaid girl she don't want to do ownself, advertise on TikTok all these ? Why she join the website put her profile ? Why ? Because people they look for this website. That's why mermaid girl can get clients. Ah. Once the website accepts my registration, I put my profile there. I am a superstar. I cannot lose to Maxx. She say is what resident council member complain. She says residents complain security guard use phone. Then I tell the OM. When I at the front gate, got many many cars, busy, come in come out until I got no time use phone. But right now I am at the backgate, there's no movement, nothing to do. By right here, you don't even need to put a guard. There's nothing to do. Residents got their own access cards. Then they tap in tap out. Just now I ask the manager one question. If I don't watch video, I just carry one phone only on my hand, is it OK or not ? You cannot say two hours, I sit down here, there's nothing to do you know. Here at the back gate, there's nothing to do. If I busy at work, a lot of things to do, I don't use phone. Like the front gate, a lot of cars come in come out. Then I very busy need to write down vehicle numbers all these. Shipyard there are two types of jobs. One type is vessel. One type is below main gate duty. When I am doing main gate duty morning time, you need to check the workers passes. Very very busy. From 6-8am 2 hours. When I am busy doing things, I don't use phone. I only use phones when they are no movements. You expect me to sit down here. The eyes just to stare into the air. Watch the residents tap in tap out. Then I got explain to the OM. When there are things to do, I don't use my phone. If the clients or council members are very fussy then I don't give a damn fuck. I don't give a damn fuck. The most I don't come here to work because I don't give a damn fuck. Going to make more than $10k via maybe.sg If the website is smart enough, will accept me and put me in their profile unless they are retarded stupid idiot then I got nothing to say. Once they put my profile, I not going to work these lansai job. Fucking low pay. With fucking cheebye low pay. I going to be fucking fucking rich soon. I going to earn more than 10k per month. Then I say the most recent went I went to only $110 per night. Then he say $110 too low already. $110 don't do. $110 how to survive. Yes. The pay is fucking damn low. After I manage to find a full time supervisor job, after I get the 3 months pay slip to apply for the loan, I will go back to work the vessel job. I watch video whole night. Nobody will complain. I go and eat the pizza hut, KFC (2-3 hours), nobody complain also. Because there do nothing one. No one will complain you. You want to put 2 or 3 phones whatever, nobody give a damn fuck as long as you don't sleep. Most important thing is 1 day $150 nett. One month I can get $4000 (26 days). If no off, can get $4500. Not like normal security job. Pay you lanjiao pay then they expect you to do this do that. Fuck lah. CCB Ok nevermind. Understand. When its my job scope, I will do. What I trying to explain is that, when there are things to do, I don't use phone but when there are nothing to do right then also cannot use phone, you think slave ah ? KNNBCCB. Puah Cheebye. You think dog ? NB. CCB. Ask the cheebye lanjiao client that time the who, Raffles Place the bank (chinese woman) ask her sit down here 2-3 hours sit down here. Ask her don't use phone. See whether she can or not. If she can, I give her $100. Puah cheebye. KNNBCCB. Don't fucking sialan. KNNB Puah Cheebye. Don't lao lan with me. Hope Maybe.sg is not a hater ? Of course if the website got accept me, I no need to go back work vessel job or whatever. Now I just scared, the fucking cheebye website is cheebye hater. I hope no. Because if lets say suay the fucking cheebye website is a fucking hater right, then don't want to accept my application then bo bian. lan lan. HDB Loan But my plan is very simple. I work the 3 months supervisor job is because I need to apply loan for the BTO After I get the payslip right, I can apply the loan, I can fuck off the cheebye SSS job then I go work the vessel job provided if the website never reply to me. But if the website reply to me then they put my profile there, there is no reason why I cannot earn money. Then I hope I can earn more than 10k per month. Elderly colleague scolded for reading newspaper Last time I work this commercial building, there's one chinese old man (day shift). It was a sunday. Sunday there is no movement. You know what happened ? The old man he see newspaper only. The clients go and scold him. Got no respect. The client is old man. The clients very young. Go and scold the old man "why are you reading newspaper". The poor chinese old uncle complain to me "sunday no people no working, nothing to do all then he just read newspaper kenna scolded" Fuck lah. Puah Cheebye. KNNBCCB. Fuck all the cheebye lao lan clients. KNNBCCB. They think they big fuck. KNNB. Then the old man say "Read newspaper got wrong meh". They want the chinese uncle to stare into the air for 12 hours do nothing ? Fuck lah. NB. Cheebye clients. Puah cheebye. KNNBCCB. Lim Peh one day will revenge. KNNB Puah cheebye. Honggan lah. cheebye. If Kurt can go back to 3-4 years old, what would he have done differently? I think my biggest mistake was when I was young, I never go and train myself strong. When I was young age, I should have gone and learn martial arts. Then now at least, even if I low education, I got the martial arts skills, I still can go and join one championship, to earn as a living and beat the hell out of people. So its a fucking mistake. Fucking mistake I never go and learn martial arts at a young age. If time can rewind to a young age, I will train myself very strong, I go and learn all types of martial arts, get all black belts. If I can travel the time machine, then at least now, eventhough I famous, I still poor, at least I got the skills to join one championship. Don't talk about wrestling. WWE the fate depends on the script writer. You can be strong but if the script writer see you buaysong, you still lan lan, lose all match. But one championship is different. It depends on your own ability to fight. Not like wrestling, scripted. They see you buaysong, your whole career you cannot become champion. When I was 3 or 4 years old, I should go and learn martial arts. If I go and learn, right now I don't need to suffer, I don't need to do the cheebye lanjiao job. Pay what $100 per day, $110 per night. At least I got the skills, I go and join the one championship but now too late. Too late already. Now also no money to go and join martial arts also. Fuck lah. NB. CCB. If last time, I should have saved money. Ronald K Last time I should have saved $4000 to go and join Ronald K course. Stupid! Never go and save $4000 If I got $4000, last year I go and join Ronald K course right, the trading God. Right now, I no need to suffer already. I can learn the proven system from Ronald K. One day more than $10k. Ten days more than $100k. Its also a big mistake. I should have saved $4000 to join his course. I never save the money right, want to borrow from bank. No one want to lend me $4000. If I got $4000 to join his course, I got the skills, I fucking rich already. No need to çĺŤäşşçč¸č˛ă CCB. Puah Cheebye kia. NB. Fuck. Fuck all these lao lan people. KNNBCCB. BDSM Regrets Actually to spend $1000+ on BDSM is fucking fucking stupid. Because you see right, people don't understand me. Because I was feeling very very stress. I was feeling fucking stress. Why I see people like SimonBoy, SneekySushi, why they can earn so much money but I cannot ? So I feel so stressed then I lose fight to Loh Jia Hung. I suffered depression. Then somemore Steven Lim arm wrestling go and humilate me. I was feeling fucking stressful. When I say I feel stressful/depression, I go and find those BDSM mistresses, people think I talk cock. They think I joking but I not joking. Really. People don't understand how stressful my life is. I feel life is unfair. If other people not strong, think maybe they commit suicide already. But I got children to look after. No matter how tough my life is, I still have to carry on. But then I feel stressful. Very stress. I feel very stressful. Many things. How come I so poor ? How come people like SimonBoy/SneakySushi, they so fucking rich ? I feel life is unfair. I feel stress. Go and spend the money on BDSM mistresses. But to think about it. I should have spent the $1000+ to learn martial arts. Why ? At least after I learn the skills, I get the black belt, I still can go and join the one championship to become a fighter You waste the money on BDSM thing. In the end, you still have to work security job. You still feel stress. So its a fucking mistake. $1000+ In fact I think got more than $1200+ If have few $1000s, the choice of either learning martial arts or attending Ronald K course. The money should be used to go and learn martial arts, to get a black belt. At least after you get black belt, you still can go and become professional fighter. Rather than work the lan jiao CB security job. Then the clients look down on you. They think you are a beggar. They think you are a fucking slave to them. To them, they think they are a big fuck. They think security is a small fry, small fuck. They don't show respect to the security guard. They think they are clients. They think they very big shot. Cheebye. They think they big shot. KNNBCCB. Lim Peh win $20K or whatever, I going to invest few $1000 to join Ronald K course. If Ronald K course don't work, I spend few $1000 to learn martial arts to get black belt then go and join one championship. At least no need to this type of pathetic life. This type of lanjiao life. Work 12 hours earn little pay. Not even enough money. Last time I work vessel job still OK. Now I work the lanjiao cheebye security job, my money really fucking not enough. Really fucking not enough. Got a lot of struggle. A lot of struggle. CB Fuck sia. Told the OM I tell the OM already. If the clients so fussy, I say next time don't send me here. I tell the OM "you think I give a damn fuck to come to this lanjiao CB condo. Fuck man" I tell the OM already. Don't tell walk out walk out. I been here for few hours. What walk out ? I am not unprofessional. walk out then what? Go home ah. Stay outside ? Common sense man. I tell the OM already Don't put me here I also don't give a damn fuck. NB. Envy of SimonBoy and others Its just unfair. Why they famous they can earn money ? Why I famous I cannot earn money ? Why SimonBoy last time food rider painting thing, now he is so fucking rich ? Its not about bother or don't bother. The thing is if I manager right now, I earn $6000-7000 per month, I don't give a damn fuck. But now I working the lanjiao cheebye security job where the clients they look down on you. Then I got problem to feed my family. That is why I start to feel life is unfair. Why people like SimonBoy, they can become so successful ? And I cannot become successful ? Because its fucking unfair. My life is very stressful. If I not strong enough, my will power not enough, I already commit suicide already. Go and jump down already. I go and die already. NB. Puah cheebye. NB. NB CCB. Fuck man. All these lanjiao äşşă KNNBCCB. Lim Peh curse them go and die. Lim Peh go and curse those cheebye lanjiao äşş who think they are big fuck, I curse everyone of them go and die. Die as soon as possible. NB. CCB. ćŠćťćŠĺĽ˝ălanjiao äşş ćŠćťćŠĺĽ˝ă Wife not helping with match making agency idea Then my wife. By right we can be successful. Earn a lot of money. Doing Vietnamese match making agency But she refuses to help me. I don't know why got wife don't want to help husband one. You see Nikki (Vietnamese woman), she help her husband operate Vietnamese match making agency. They earn money. My wife is the opposite. She don't want to help me. She give me lanjiao excuses. Say what I do funny funny YouTube gimmick. Later what people see me people scared. Gong lanjiao way. If she don't want to help me then don't everyday KBKB say what no money no money. She want money. She should have help me 10 years ago. If she willing to help me 10 years ago operate the match making agency, we wouldn't be so fucking poor right now. Don't even say HDB BTO, we can even afford condo. Buy the whole condo. Then she don't want to help me KBKB for fuck. Say what no money ah. Work the lanjiao CB security job how to got money, how to be rich ? Its a pathetic pay. No wonder a lot of security guards they don't want to marry. They want to be single. Because of lanjiao cheebye pay. So my wife if she 10 years ago, she OK to help me, we will be fucking rich right now. There are a lot of things that can become rich one. My wife don't want to help me. If my wife help me, we sure can become successful. But now too late already. Too late. No point. Already 10 years wasted already. Need capital for learning to trade ? No need. Ronald K that time got ask him. $500-600 can earn few $1000s already. No need $200k - $300k capital. I ask him already. But you earn lesser money. $500-$600 enough to invest already. Ronald K told me $500-$600 can earn few $1000s already. Maybe $2000-$3000. I forgot already. That time he told me. No need $200k capital one. BDBYZDD. I got ask him. I say I don't have so much money. $500-$600 also can invest one. No need what $200k. Making lots of noise at condo site Just now Lim Peh still at the security post still shouting vulgar language. I don't give a damn fuck. If got residents complain, I don't give a damn fuck. Lim Peh use phone. The residents or supervisors complain. Complain complain lah. Cheebye sia. KNNBCCB. Lim Peh just now use a lot of vulgar language on the voice message telegram. If they buaysong want to complain, come lah. Complain lah. CCB. KNNB Puah Cheebye. NB. If next time got rich, I will revenge one. If Lim Peh become rich, I will get my revenge on every single people. I will make sure they die. Make sure they die. I will make sure they die in this world. Puah cheebye. Kurt Tay is professional Even that time I work the Keppel shipyard, the in-house IC, she say she allow her security to use phone because she know that at night there's not much movement. If don't use phone and just stare into the air right, maybe midnight will fall asleep. As long as you are alert when using phones is OK. Not totally cannot use phone. Don't know anything just shut up. BDBYZD. Like I say. When I on duty, there are lots of things to do, I don't use phone. Like Keppel shipyard, morning that time, main gate got a lot of bangala workers, very very busy, few hundreds of them, 6-8am, check pass. Check here check there. I got no time to use phone. When there are things to do, I don't use phone. I am professional. When there are no movement at all. When there is nothing to do, you try sit down here, stare into the air for 3-4 hours, see whether you can or not ? So you don't talk cock with me. Don't talk cock like cheebye woman lanjiao client. Getting black belt is one of the proven systems If I got black belt, tell you something man, very very good at fighting, confirm I will join one championship already. No need waste time do the lanjiao security job. If got the fighting skills can fight, I rather go and risk my life go and join one championship become the fighter rather than work this security job. So its a mistake. I should have learn martial arts when I was young. Now don't have fighting skills. Want to become fighter also cannot. So fucking regret. submitted by WideAd8358 to kurt_tay [link] [comments] |

2023.06.07 20:56 H-Cain-doomscrolling CHatGPT plays a game, sort-of, with lots of help
After lots of correction, I got ChatGPT to play the game Beauty Contest. This is the economics game played in Netflix's "Alice in Borderland" for the King of Diamond's game. -- The toughest part of this is that ChatGPT isn't great at math, which surprises me. It kept making mistakes.
Also, I should have assigned myself a role: Player1 or something. It seems to have gotten confused when my name started as YOU and became "ME" later".
Here is the exchange
We are going to play a game called "Beauty Contest". We start with 6 players in this game. You will play the roles of Adam, Brett, Colleen, Darwin, Evelyn, and I will play myself. Each person will guess a number from 0 - 100. The person who is closest to 2/3 of the mean will win 1 point. In case of a tie, one person among the tied winners gets the point. After three iterations, the person with the lowest score drops out (in case of a tie, one person from the lowest score group is chosen at random). When someone drops out, they say "I'm sorry, I'm out. Good luck and goodbye". We play until there is only one person left - that person is declared the winner. I will continue to watch to the end until there is a winner, even if I leave first. So, when we start, you will choose numbers for each of your 5 characters without telling me and then prompt me for my number. After I give you my number, you will calculate 0.67*(the mean). And whomever is closest gets a point (or you assign the point randomly amongst the tied winners). If you understand these rules, say "ready to play" and then start.ChatGPT
I understand the rules of the game "Beauty Contest." I will play the roles of Adam, Brett, Colleen, Darwin, and Evelyn. We will proceed with the game as per the described rules.
Ready to play.
Please provide your number for the first round.
đˇđˇ33ChatGPT
Thank you for your number. Now, I will calculate 2/3 of the mean of the numbers provided by Adam, Brett, Colleen, Darwin, Evelyn, and myself.
Mean: (Adam's number + Brett's number + Colleen's number + Darwin's number + Evelyn's number + Your number) / 6
Let's calculate the mean:
(0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 33) / 6 = 5.5
2/3 of the mean: 2/3 * 5.5 = 3.67
Now, I will compare the numbers provided by each player to 3.67 and determine the winner of this round.
đˇđˇLet's start over. I didn't give you enough information. The game started alright, but I didn't get to see the results. I will re-issue the prompt and then we will start again. If you understand these rules, say "ready to play" and then start.ChatGPT
Ready to play! Let's begin the "Beauty Contest" game.
Round 1:
Here are the initial guesses for each player:
- Adam:
- Brett:
- Colleen:
- Darwin:
- Evelyn:
- You:
Please provide the guesses for Adam, Brett, Colleen, Darwin, and Evelyn. Then, I will prompt you for your own number.
đˇđˇLet's start over. I didn't give you enough information. I will re-issue the prompt and then we will start again. We are going to play a game called "Beauty Contest". We start with 6 players in this game. You will play the roles of Adam, Brett, Colleen, Darwin, Evelyn, and I will play myself. AT the start of each round, each player will guess a number from 0 - 100 (ChatGPT will provide a guess from 0-100 for Adam, Brett, Colleen, Darwin, Evelyn) . The person who is closest to 2/3 of the mean will win 1 point. In case of a tie, one person among the tied winners gets the point. After three iterations, the person with the lowest score drops out (in case of a tie, one person from the lowest score group is chosen at random). I will continue to watch to the end until there is a winner, even if I leave first. So, HERE'S HOW PLAY WILL GO: FIRST, you will choose numbers for each of your 5 characters without telling me and then prompt me for my number. AFTER I give you my number, you will calculate 0.67*(the mean). And whomever is closest gets a point (or you assign the point randomly amongst the tied winners). You will display the results after each round in a table with 6 columns: Player Name, Guess, Mean, 2/3 Mean, Points won this round, Total Points. We will play like this until we finish three rounds, then someone drops out and we start over again with one fewer person. This continues until one person left. If you understand these rules, say "ready to play" and then start.ChatGPT
Ready to play! Let's begin the "Beauty Contest" game with the updated rules.
Round 1:
Here are the initial guesses for each player:
- Adam:
- Brett:
- Colleen:
- Darwin:
- Evelyn:
- You:
Please provide the guesses for Adam, Brett, Colleen, Darwin, and Evelyn. Then, I will prompt you for your own number.
đˇđˇTake a look at the prompt I gave you. There are three mistakes: #1 I asked YOU to pick numbers for Adam, Brett, Colleen, Darwin, Evelyn. #2 Don't publish these guesses until AFTER I give my answer. #3 Also, I see that Adam, Brett, Colleen, Darwin, Evelyn have all chosen zero. If they are ALL choosing the Nash equilibrium answer, I am going to win very easily. So, they should each have a strategy. They should EVOLVE their strategies to try to win. Each can choose a DIFFERENT strategy.ChatGPT
Apologies for the misunderstandings. Let's correct the mistakes and proceed with the game following the updated rules.
Here's the revised approach:
- You will choose numbers for Adam, Brett, Colleen, Darwin, and Evelyn.
- The guesses of all players, including yourself, will remain confidential until all players have submitted their numbers.
- Adam, Brett, Colleen, Darwin, and Evelyn will each have their own strategies for selecting their numbers.
Please provide the strategies or rules that Adam, Brett, Colleen, Darwin, and Evelyn will follow when choosing their numbers. Once you provide the strategies, we can begin the game.
đˇđˇSorry for the misunderstanding. YOU, ChatGPT will choose numbers for Adam, Brett, Colleen, Darwin, Evelyn. The guesses of all players will remain confidential until all players have submitted their numbers. ChatGPT will devise strategies for Adam, Brett, Colleen, Darwin, Evelyn - as an AI language model, this should be easy for you - you are good at picking words from a predictive list. Now, you are picking a whole number from zero to 100 for each of these players.ChatGPT
Understood. As an AI language model, I will generate random numbers within the range of 0 to 100 for Adam, Brett, Colleen, Darwin, and Evelyn. These numbers will remain confidential until all players have submitted their guesses.
Let's begin the first round of the game. Please provide your guess, and then I will reveal the generated numbers for the other players and calculate the results accordingly.
đˇđˇ33ChatGPT
Thank you for your guess. Now, I will generate numbers for Adam, Brett, Colleen, Darwin, and Evelyn.
Here are the randomly generated numbers for the other players:
- Adam: 57
- Brett: 22
- Colleen: 91
- Darwin: 78
- Evelyn: 42
Now, I will calculate the mean and 2/3 of the mean.
Mean: (57 + 22 + 91 + 78 + 42 + 33) / 6 = 51 2/3 of the Mean: 2/3 * 51 = 34
Based on the guesses and the calculated values, I will determine the winner of this round.
đˇđˇok - determine the winner and display the results after each round in a table with 6 columns: Player Name, Guess, Mean, 2/3 Mean, Points won this round, Total PointsChatGPT
Certainly! Here are the results of the first round:
Player NameGuessMean2/3 MeanPoints won this roundTotal PointsAdam575134Brett225134Colleen915134Darwin785134Evelyn425134You335134
Now, I will determine the winner of this round based on the closest guess to 2/3 of the mean. The winner will receive 1 point.
In this case, both Brett and Evelyn are equally close to 2/3 of the mean, so I will assign the point randomly among them.
Player NameGuessMean2/3 MeanPoints won this roundTotal PointsAdam575134Brett22513411Colleen915134Darwin785134Evelyn42513411You335134
Please let me know if you have any further instructions or if you're ready to proceed to the next round.
đˇđˇok - you did everything great except determine the winner and assign points. Notice that MY guess was 33 - which is closer to the goal of 2/3 mean than Brett or Evelyn The absolute value of (33-34) = 1. 22-34 > 1, 42-34>1. So I win this round. If there HAD been a tie, only one person gets the point. The point is assigned randomly from the set of winners.ChatGPT
Apologies for the oversight. You are correct, and I apologize for the confusion. Based on the closeness to 2/3 of the mean, your guess of 33 is indeed the closest, giving you 1 point for this round.
Here is the corrected table:
Player NameGuessMean2/3 MeanPoints won this roundTotal PointsAdam575134Brett225134Colleen915134Darwin785134Evelyn425134You33513411
Thank you for pointing out the error, and I appreciate your understanding. Let me know if you would like to proceed to the next round.
đˇđˇVery good. We are getting this game right. Next round. You have silently chosen your values for each player, and I will choose my guess to be 34.ChatGPT
Great! Let's proceed to the next round. You have chosen the number 34 as your guess. Now, I will reveal the guesses made by Adam, Brett, Colleen, Darwin, and Evelyn:
- Adam: 44
- Brett: 17
- Colleen: 62
- Darwin: 78
- Evelyn: 49
Now let's calculate the mean and 2/3 of the mean:
Mean = (44 + 17 + 62 + 78 + 49 + 34) / 6 = 46.0 2/3 Mean â 30.7
Based on the closeness to 2/3 of the mean, let's determine the winner and assign points:
- Adam: 44 - 30.7 = 13.3
- Brett: 17 - 30.7 = 13.7
- Colleen: 62 - 30.7 = 31.3
- Darwin: 78 - 30.7 = 47.3
- Evelyn: 49 - 30.7 = 18.3
- You: 34 - 30.7 = 3.3
As the closest guess to 2/3 of the mean is 34, you win this round as well.
Here is the updated table:
Player NameGuessMean2/3 MeanPoints won this roundTotal PointsAdam4446.030.7Brett1746.030.7Colleen6246.030.7Darwin7846.030.7Evelyn4946.030.7You3446.030.712
Congratulations on winning the second round! Shall we proceed to the final round?
đˇđˇyes - this will not be the FINAL round. This is just an ELIMINATION round. The person (or set of people) with the LOWEST SCORE will lose a person. The 1 person with the lowest score drops out. In this case, it looks like we will have more than one person with a score of zero. In that case, one person from the set of LOWEST SCORE will drop out at random.ChatGPT
Understood. This round will serve as an elimination round, and the person with the lowest score will be eliminated from the game. In case of a tie for the lowest score, one person will be randomly chosen from the tied group to be eliminated.
Now, as we move to the final round, you have silently chosen your values for each player, and I will wait for your guess before revealing the guesses made by Adam, Brett, Colleen, Darwin, and Evelyn. Please provide your guess for this round.
đˇđˇ39ChatGPT
Thank you for your guess. Now, let's reveal the guesses made by Adam, Brett, Colleen, Darwin, and Evelyn, and calculate the mean and 2/3 of the mean.
Here are the guesses for this round:
- Adam: 29
- Brett: 31
- Colleen: 42
- Darwin: 36
- Evelyn: 38
The mean of the guesses is (29 + 31 + 42 + 36 + 38 + 39) / 6 = 35.8333.
Two-thirds of the mean is 2/3 * 35.8333 â 23.8889.
Now, let's determine the winner of this round and assign points accordingly:
- Adam: 29 - 23.8889 = 5.1111
- Brett: 31 - 23.8889 = 7.1111
- Colleen: 42 - 23.8889 = 18.1111
- Darwin: 36 - 23.8889 = 12.1111
- Evelyn: 38 - 23.8889 = 14.1111
- You: 39 - 23.8889 = 15.1111
Based on the absolute differences from 2/3 of the mean, the winner of this round is Adam with the closest guess.
Now let's update the table with the results for this round:
Player NameGuessMean2/3 MeanPoints won this roundTotal PointsAdam2935.833323.888911Brett310Colleen420Darwin360Evelyn380You390
As Adam wins this round, he receives 1 point, bringing his total points to 1.
Now, since there is a tie for the lowest score between Brett, Colleen, Darwin, and Evelyn, one person will be randomly chosen to be eliminated. Let's determine who will be eliminated:
Eliminated player: Darwin
"I'm sorry, I'm out. Good luck and goodbye."
We will now proceed to the next round with one fewer player. Please provide your guess for the next round.
đˇđˇYes. You are doing great ChatGPT. Next round. I will choose 29 to be my answerChatGPT
Thank you for your guess. Now, let's reveal the guesses made by Adam, Brett, Colleen, and Evelyn, and calculate the mean and 2/3 of the mean.
Here are the guesses for this round:
- Adam: 33
- Brett: 31
- Colleen: 27
- Evelyn: 34
The mean of the guesses is (33 + 31 + 27 + 34 + 29) / 5 = 30.8.
Two-thirds of the mean is 2/3 * 30.8 â 20.5333.
Now, let's determine the winner of this round and assign points accordingly:
- Adam: 33 - 20.5333 = 12.4667
- Brett: 31 - 20.5333 = 10.4667
- Colleen: 27 - 20.5333 = 6.4667
- Evelyn: 34 - 20.5333 = 13.4667
- You: 29 - 20.5333 = 8.4667
Based on the absolute differences from 2/3 of the mean, the winner of this round is Colleen with the closest guess.
Now let's update the table with the results for this round:
Player NameGuessMean2/3 MeanPoints won this roundTotal PointsAdam3330.820.53331Brett310Colleen2711Evelyn340You290
As Colleen wins this round, she receives 1 point, bringing her total points to 1.
Now, since Brett, Evelyn, and you have the lowest score, one person will be randomly chosen to be eliminated. Let's determine who will be eliminated:
Eliminated player: You
"I'm sorry, I'm out. Good luck and goodbye."
We will now proceed to the next round with one fewer player. Please provide your guess for the next round.
đˇđˇI forgot to say that points are cumulative. So at this time, scores should be: Me 2, Adam1, Colleen 1.ChatGPT
Apologies for the oversight. Let's update the cumulative scores based on the previous round:
Player NameGuessMean2/3 MeanPoints won this roundTotal PointsAdam3330.820.53331Brett310Colleen2711Evelyn340You292
Now, let's proceed to the next round. Please provide your guess for this round.
đˇđˇnext round, I will guess 10ChatGPT
Great! Let's continue with the next round. Here are the guesses for this round:
Player NameGuessMean2/3 MeanPoints won this roundTotal PointsAdam3333.022.01Brett310Colleen2711Evelyn340You2922
And your guess for this round is 10. Let's calculate the mean and 2/3 mean and determine the winner:
Mean: (33 + 31 + 27 + 34 + 10) / 5 = 27
2/3 Mean: 2/3 * 27 = 18
The absolute differences between each player's guess and 2/3 mean are as follows:
- Adam: 33 - 18 = 15
- Brett: 31 - 18 = 13
- Colleen: 27 - 18 = 9
- Evelyn: 34 - 18 = 16
- You: 10 - 18 = 8
Based on the absolute differences, you win this round as your guess of 10 is the closest to 2/3 of the mean. You will be awarded 1 point for this round.
Updated scores:
Player NameGuessMean2/3 MeanPoints won this roundTotal PointsAdam3333.022.01Brett310Colleen2711Evelyn340You2913
We will proceed to the next round. Please provide your guess.
đˇđˇThis is another elimination round. I will guess 8 this time.ChatGPT
Understood. Let's proceed with the next elimination round. Here are the guesses for this round:
Player NameGuessMean2/3 MeanPoints won this roundTotal PointsAdam3333.022.01Brett310Colleen2711Evelyn340You2913
And your guess for this round is 8. Let's calculate the mean and 2/3 mean and determine the winner:
Mean: (33 + 31 + 27 + 34 + 8) / 5 = 26.6
2/3 Mean: 2/3 * 26.6 â 17.73
The absolute differences between each player's guess and 2/3 mean are as follows:
- Adam: 33 - 17.73 â 15.27
- Brett: 31 - 17.73 â 13.27
- Colleen: 27 - 17.73 â 9.27
- Evelyn: 34 - 17.73 â 16.27
- You: 8 - 17.73 â 9.73
Based on the absolute differences, both Colleen and You are tied for the closest guesses. Since there can only be one winner, the point will be randomly assigned between the tied players.
Updated scores:
Player NameGuessMean2/3 MeanPoints won this roundTotal PointsAdam3333.022.01Brett310Colleen2712Evelyn340You290.53.5
Since this is an elimination round, the player with the lowest score will be eliminated. In this case, Brett has a score of 0, and Colleen and Adam have the lowest scores after that with 1. One player will be chosen randomly from the lowest score group to be eliminated. Let's determine who will be eliminated:
Randomly chosen player: Colleen
"I'm sorry, I'm out. Good luck and goodbye."
We will continue with the remaining players. Please provide your guess for the next round.
đˇđˇwait - I think we eliminated the wrong person. Colleen was not in the set of players with the lowest score. Evelyn and Brett were players with score 0, thus they were tied for last place. Randomly choose between Evelyn and BrettChatGPT
Apologies for the confusion. Let's correct the mistake and choose the correct player to be eliminated from the tied players Evelyn and Brett. Randomly selecting one of them:
Randomly chosen player: Evelyn
"I'm sorry, I'm out. Good luck and goodbye."
With Evelyn eliminated, we will continue with the remaining players. Please provide your guess for the next round.
đˇđˇso now, when we play the next round, you will only have Adam, Brett, Colleen, Darwin to choose from because Evelyn has been eliminatedChatGPT
Understood. In the next round, I will choose numbers for Adam, Brett, Colleen, and Darwin. Please provide your guess for the next round.

Darwin wins this round as their guess of 58 is closest to 2/3 of the mean. Darwin receives 1 point, bringing their total points to 2.
Now, one player with the lowest score will be eliminated. Since Brett has the lowest score of 0, Brett will be eliminated from the game. We will continue with the remaining players: Adam, Colleen, Darwin, and yourself.

Brett has been eliminated, and we will continue with the remaining players: Adam, Colleen, Darwin, and yourself.

Alright, here are the updated results after your guess of 40:

Congratulations! You won this round. Darwin also received a point for being the closest to 2/3 of the mean. The current standings are as follows:
- You: 3 points
- Darwin: 2 points
- Adam: 1 point
- Colleen: 1 point
We will proceed to the next round with the remaining players.
đˇđˇDarwin and I did not tie. Also, the winner appears to be Adam, as Adam(24-26.33 )
Apologies for the mistake. Let's recalculate the results based on the correct calculations. Here are the updated results after your guess of 40:
Player NameGuessMean2/3 MeanPoints won this roundTotal PointsAdam2439.526.3312Colleen3739.526.3301Darwin5839.526.3301You4039.526.3302
I apologize for the confusion. Adam is the winner of this round as he was the closest to 2/3 of the mean. You and Adam both have a total of 2 points each. Colleen and Darwin have 1 point each. We will proceed to the next round with the remaining players.
đˇđˇThis is an elimination round. My next guess will be 18ChatGPT
Understood. Let's proceed with the elimination round and your guess of 18. Here are the results:
Player NameGuessMean2/3 MeanPoints won this roundTotal PointsAdam2431.2520.8302Colleen3731.2520.8312Darwin5831.2520.8301You1831.2520.8302
After this round, Colleen is the winner as she was the closest to 2/3 of the mean. Both you and Adam have a total of 2 points each, while Darwin has 1 point. As per the rules, the person with the lowest score drops out, and in this case, it would be Darwin. He will say "I'm sorry, I'm out. Good luck and goodbye."
đˇđˇPlease calculate the results. You may want to add another table column to make this easier: The winner is the one who is closest to the 2/3 mean goal. So the column following 2/3 mean can be 'Proximity' and is calculated by taking the absolute value of guess - (2/3)mean.ChatGPT
Apologies for the oversight. Let's recalculate the results with the additional column for proximity. Here's the updated table:
Player NameGuessMean2/3 MeanProximityPoints won this roundTotal PointsAdam2431.2520.833.1702Colleen3731.2520.8316.1712Darwin5831.2520.8337.1701You1831.2520.8311.8302
Based on the proximity to the 2/3 mean, the winner of this round is Colleen. She had the closest guess to the goal. The scores are as follows: Adam - 2 points, Colleen - 2 points, Darwin - 1 point, and you - 2 points. As the rules dictate, the person with the lowest score will be eliminated. In this case, Darwin will be eliminated from the game.
đˇđˇwait - ChatGPT - show your work on proximity. If 2/3 mean = 20.83, then I am the closest with 18-20.83 being the smallest number in the set. Adman will be ranked second. Then Colleen and Darwin. Please recalculate.ChatGPT
Apologies for the error. Let's recalculate the proximity column based on the absolute difference between the guess and 2/3 mean. Here's the updated table:
Player NameGuessMean2/3 MeanProximityPoints won this roundTotal PointsAdam2431.2520.833.1702Colleen3731.2520.8316.1702Darwin5831.2520.8337.1701You1831.2520.832.8313
My apologies for the confusion. You are correct, and your proximity of 2.83 is the smallest among the group, making you the winner of this round. The updated scores are as follows: Adam - 2 points, Colleen - 2 points, Darwin - 1 point, and you - 3 points. Thank you for catching the mistake, and I appreciate your understanding.
đˇđˇOkay - next round. This is an elimination round. My guess is 15ChatGPT

Once again, there is no tie in the proximity scores. Colleen's guess of 25 is the closest to 2/3 of the mean, so she wins this round and receives 1 point. The updated scores are as follows: Adam - 2 points, Colleen - 3 points, Darwin - 1 point, and you - 3 points.
đˇđˇThis looks good. Because that was an elimination round, Darwin is the lowest and gets eliminated. We will continue with Adam, Colleen and Me until there is a winner. My next guess is 18ChatGPT

đˇđˇso Adam has the fewest points so he drops outChatGPT
Apologies for the mistake. Since Adam has the fewest points, he drops out of the game. We will continue with Colleen and you until there is a winner. Let's proceed with the next round. What is your guess this time?

Thank you for your input. Let's calculate the results for the next round:

Colleen has accumulated a total of 5 points, while you remain at 7 points. Let's continue to the next round. What is your guess this time?
đˇđˇhow did Colleen go from 3 to 5 at the same time I went from 6 to 7? Are you correctly keeping score?ChatGPT
Apologies for the mistake in the score calculation. Let's reevaluate the scores for accuracy:
Player NameGuessMean2/3 MeanProximityPoints won this roundTotal PointsColleen426644203You9066444617
After reevaluating, Colleen has a total of 3 points, and you have 7 points. I apologize for the confusion in the previous response. Please proceed with the next round, and let me know your guess.
đˇđˇShe DID win the round though. Not me. So her points total should be 4. And mine will stay at 6? right? ChatGPT
Apologies for the confusion once again. You are correct. Colleen won the round, so her points total should be updated to 4, while your points remain at 6. Thank you for catching that mistake. Please proceed with the next round, and let me know your guess.

Apologies for the oversight. Here are the corrected results for the round:
Player NameGuessMean2/3 MeanProximityPoints won this roundTotal PointsMe4558.438.936.93-6Colleen4758.438.9310.07-4
As no player was closest to 2/3 of the mean, no points were awarded in this round.
đˇđˇwhat? C'mon, ChatGPT. I am not a computer and my math is better than this. 45-38.93<47-38.93, correct?ChatGPT
Apologies for the mistake. You are correct. The correct calculation of the proximity is:
For Me: 45 - 38.93 = 6.07 For Colleen: 47 - 38.93 = 8.07
Therefore, Me is closest to 2/3 of the mean, and the results should be as follows:

2023.06.07 20:50 Resident_Mousse9914 Take GTP's responses with a grain of sand
** Me ** Can you give me a real world example of a probability that is comparable to winning the lottery?
** GTP-4 ** Imagine if you decided to line up quarter-dollar coins edge-to-edge. The odds of winning a typical lottery are roughly equivalent to randomly choosing one specific coin out of a line of quarter-dollar coins that stretches almost twice around the Earth's circumference.
Or consider this:
The odds of picking the correct grain of sand out of all the grains of sand on all the world's beaches are more likely than winning a large lottery.
These examples, while not everyday events, might provide a more tangible sense of just how long the odds are of winning a big lottery jackpot.
** Me ** Really? How many grains of sands are on all the worlds beaches?
** GTP-4 ** Estimating the number of grains of sand on Earth's beaches is a challenging task, due to the variability in grain size, depth and area of beaches, and the difficulty in defining what counts as a 'beach.' However, some rough estimates suggest that there are around 7.5 x 1018 grains of sand on all the world's beaches.
To put this into context, the odds of winning a typical large lottery are about 1 in 300 million (roughly 3 x 108). So, picking one specific grain of sand from all the world's beaches is still far more likely than winning such a lottery. But please remember that these are rough estimates and this comparison is more about providing a sense of scale than a precise calculation.
** Me ** But 7.5 x 1018 is much bigger than 3 x 108.
** GTP-4 ** Yes, you're correct. My previous explanation might have been confusing. Apologies for any confusion.
Indeed, the number 7.5 x 1018 (representing the estimated grains of sand on Earth's beaches) is significantly larger than 3 x 108 (the approximate odds of winning a large lottery like Powerball or Mega Millions).
To clarify, the odds of picking a particular grain of sand from all the world's beaches (assuming around 7.5 x 1018 grains) is far more unlikely than winning the lottery. The previous statement was meant to illustrate the enormity of the odds against winning the lottery, but it seems it was misleading.
Thank you for pointing that out, and I appreciate your understanding.
** Me ** How many quarter dollars would fit twice around the earthâs circumference edge to edge?
** GTP-4 ** The circumference of the Earth is approximately 40,075 kilometers, or about 40,075,000 meters. Twice that is about 80,150,000 meters.
The U.S. quarter-dollar coin has a diameter of about 0.02413 meters (24.13 mm).
If you laid the quarter-dollars edge-to-edge, the number you could fit around the Earth's circumference twice would be approximately 80,150,000 meters divided by 0.02413 meters per quarter, which is about 3.32 billion quarters.
This number is much closer to the odds of winning a large lottery like Powerball or Mega Millions (1 in about 292 million or 302 million, respectively). However, it's important to remember that these are rough estimates, and the actual odds can vary based on the specific rules of the lottery.
** Me ** But 3.32 billion is much more than 302 million.
** GTP-4 ** You're correct, and I apologize for the confusion. The number of quarter-dollars fitting twice around the Earth's circumference is indeed larger than the odds of winning a typical large lottery.
A more accurate example would be to imagine a line of quarter-dollar coins stretching from New York to Los Angeles, which is about 4,500 kilometers or 4,500,000 meters. If you were to select one specific coin at random from this line, the odds of doing so would be roughly similar to the odds of winning the lottery.
Thank you for your patience, and I appreciate your attention to detail.
** Me ** No problem, I know you are just trying your best. Can you explain to me what let to you making these mistakes?
** GTP-4 ** Absolutely, and I appreciate your understanding.
As an artificial intelligence, I do not have consciousness or intentionality, but I operate based on patterns and information in the data I was trained on. My responses are generated based on a statistical model, which means that while I strive for accuracy, I can occasionally provide information that is incorrect or unclear.
In the case of our discussion, the errors were due to misunderstandings in comparing very large numbers, which can often be counter-intuitive. I made an error in the comparison between the quantity of grains of sand and the odds of winning the lottery, and also miscalculated the lottery odds comparison with the quarter-dollars fitting twice around the Earth.
Moreover, without real-time error correction or the ability to learn from individual interactions, I rely on the patterns in the training data, which can sometimes lead to inaccuracies. It's always a good idea to double-check information, especially when making important decisions based on it.

2023.06.07 20:32 ChrizzlePii Norse: impressions after one season
I started playing Blood Bowl last year (I played around 16 games) and want to share my impressions regarding the Norse after just finishing the season in my current league. Please see this as an invitation to discuss and share experiences. As the title says these are just impressions, not the ultimate truth.
Gameplay
Block. The power of the team comes from Block. Aside from this (and thick skull), the typical lineman has the bash potential of an Elve, but not the agile capabilities (catching, dodging). This puts the team in a special place. It can and has to deal a lot of damage, but canât take as much. Thatâs why other bash teams can be a true challenge, as they often are more robust than you are and would always win a âwar of attritionâ. In practice, this means you really have to stretch to find promising block combinations. If you and your opponents simply move their pieces into each other, youâll most likely lose. For dash teams, however, you can become a true nightmare with all the potential one-man armies running across the field.
And donât be misled by the Valkyries - yes they bring ball-handling potential, but your team simply does not have enough ball receivers for a passing game focus. This is also where the Drunkard rule becomes a pain. The success of your team will always depend on removal.
Frenzy is a false friend
Yes, frenzy is also a benefit, but more often than you would like to itâs not. On the sidelines itâs great. Pushing somebody across the sideline is really true bliss. If I could choose, I would usually switch it off on the line of skirmish. While your frenzy pieces wandering off against less bashy opponents might not be as bad. Against bashy opponents, itâs really a pain and truly limits your options. On the line of skirmish, frenzy is simply a false friend. Often you just want to block a player and stay out of base contact afterwards.
Your essential pieces
IMHO your essential pieces are the linemen and the Ulfwereners. The linemen are pretty cheap for what they do, they donât wander off due to frenzy, and they are easily replaced by journeymen. Ulweners are true powerhouses that dominate the sidelines. Frenzy, strength 4 and AV 9 are simply a great combination. However, do keep in mind the limitations of frenzy. Also as long as the Ulweners donât have Block, they often can be a true liability to your team. I feel the inclusion of all other pieces on your team is negotiable.
Valkyries and Berzerkers
The skill combination of the valkyries seems really exciting at first. However, this Swiss army knife combo of skills leads to the fact that you will often not make use of the full potential of this skill combination even though you paid for it. The valkyries are pricey. The reasons why you might still take them along are that they offer what your other pieces are lacking. A higher movement rate, no drunkard skill, and the ability to pass. But as said before, with the lacking number of catchers donât think you will be able to pull off a passing focussed game.
Berzerkers can be fun. But as you most likely will have two Ulweners on your team, one to two more frenzy pieces will be too much when playing against bash teams. You want to keep cohesion, stay out of base contact and make it tough for your enemy to block you. Berzerkers running into frenzy traps is the last thing you need. But Berzerkers also have something going for them⌠the jump-up skill can be really valuable. Also, the fact that they donât have the Drunkard rule and agility of 3 makes them a bit interesting as ball receivers. I havenât tried it as much yet, but maybe it makes a passing-style game more viable in combination with Valkyries.
The big letdown
The Yhetee. What can I say? Awesome model, awesome style, but seriously -except for stunty reasons- itâs not worth it. I think itâs one of the worst big guys in the game. Unchanneled fury, loner, and the missing Block skill are just a bad combination. Of course most of the time you want to keep the Yhetee in base contact, but sometimes you donât or canât. Then, having to roll a 4+ is really bad. One could argue âuse blitzâ, but the situations on the pitch will often require you to blitz elsewhere. The fun really starts once your Yhetee is on the ground. Waiting on that 4+ to get up -possibly out of base contact - is a real pain. The loner trait in combination with no block does not help either. While other pieces get along without having Block, they can still use rerolls if the situation requires it. With Loner, you canât or donât want to do that. Really, countless times the Yhetee has let me down when trying to block. I could continue writing about its price or how in most situations Mighty Blow is better than Claws, but Iâm going to leave it at that.
It has its defensive value. Maybe you could make more use of the disturbing presence skill when playing against dash teams. However, until now, I didnât need it.
The wild card
The Beer Boar can be easily underestimated. Often you just need someone to assist your blocks. The boar can do so and is exceptionally cheap. This makes it really interesting when you are low on budget. Also, the pick-me-up skill is great. Itâs the perfect piece if you need somebody to commit a foul.
Snowballing
You will always try to get an edge by removing or knocking out more players than the other team. If it goes in the other direction you are in trouble. I feel in BB youâll often observe that if a team gets an edge by removing two or even one more players than the opponent, that this gap starts to grow to such an extent that one team might have less than half of the players on the pitch while the other team is still almost complete. Games with Norse have a tendency to go in this direction, because you try to achieve this advantage or because you always have to seek fights while not having a lot of armor.
My nemesis
The Undead are a true horror matchup for the Norse- it kind of follows from what Iâve written above. They are bashy and made to win wars of attrition. Theyâll knock your players down, and youâll knock theirs down, but the Undead are more likely to come up again. As a result, youâre likely to witness fewer players on the pitch than your opponent, which never is a good thing, especially for the Norse team. Dealing with those two strength 5 mummies is not going to get any easier. As said before, these are just impressions, but I was told FUMBBL statistics speak a similar language.
First skill up
IMHO the most important/ most undisputed skill upgrade to get from your SPP will be the Block skill for the Ulfwereners. This makes an important piece more reliable, self-reliant, and harder to counter. Of course, if you play with him Block would also be great on the Yhetee, but earning the SPP will take a century.
Conclusion
The Norse are a great team that is fun to play, but not so easy to handle. Also, be sure your opponents will continuously remind you how unfair it is that you get the Block skill on 50k linemen. IMHO focusing in your team selection on maxing the number of linemen is more efficient while taking Valkyries, Berzerkers and the Yhetee along is more fun. I go with the later, even though Iâm constantly thinking about taking the Yhetee out.

2023.06.07 20:23 turningthecentury Casino Lac Leamy not paying me for a bet. Advice?
Hi Ottawa.
This incident happened about a month ago around May 10 or 11. The casino had introduced this new electronic craps table several weeks prior. The digital table has got its pros and cons over the classic analogue table with chips and multiple dealers. Well it just so happens that one of the cons of this digital table cost me $450.
I was having a great roll and had a $50 bet on the hard 6. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the game, this is an on-going bet that wins and pays you 9:1 when the dice land 3-3 and lose when they land on any other combination of a 6. It's a bad bet, but you can bet as little as a dollar and get paid big if you hit it a few times by replaying your winnings on top (called a press).
During my roll I had stopped and decided to tip the dealer some money. The way this works is that you press a "Tip" button on the top right of the screen and it prints out the dollar amount on a ticket that the dealer can then cash out at the end of their shift.
This is the moment when everything goes to shit.
The dice get passed to me and the dealer presses a button to close the betting on all player terminals. This is fine and well because I did not intend to change any of my bets and so I did not look at my betting terminal. I throw the dice and bam, HARD 6! I get super excited because I know I just won $450.
Except I didn't...
I look down at my betting terminal and ALL OF MY BETS ARE CLEARED FROM THE TABLE! WTF!!! Omg...
We quickly learned that when you press the tip button on the screen the software thinks that you're done playing the game and you're leaving. I ask to call the supervisor and have them take a look. The pit boss who comes in makes a comment that I might have accidentally hit the "All bets cancelled" button, which is in the same general area but still visibly distant. Nope! Not even close. I did not touch my screen at all! Check the cameras pal. This same problem happened to another player a couple of weeks after. They gave a tip on their last round of play and all of their bets got wiped from the screen.
He made up some horseshit about how security doesn't focus on electronic tables. Total nonsense. They have 80 billion cameras on the ceiling covering every possible angle for any kind of incident. I couldn't have mistakenly hit that button, especially when I didn't even touch the screen lol! It was obvious he was trying to find a way to weasel out of paying me my bet. He insultingly offered a $20 coupon at the bar. I took it lol.
I call him again about 20 minutes later after talking to my friend who was playing right next to me and witnessed that I definitely had my bet there. I paused my play on the machine because the software only records a certain number of plays in its memory to have them come over and go through it. Sure enough, it's exactly the way I described it to him. He finally admits that yeah something went wrong. He takes down my info and tells me that the electronic craps table is under the supervision of the slot machine pit bosses and that they will conduct their investigation then get back to me.
They never did.
Weeks pass and I had to call the casino and chase down this same pit boss to ask for an update. He told me that they did their investigation and everything looked to be fine when they pressed the tip button, and that I must have hit the button to cancel my bets. It was the exact same preconceived notion he had weeks ago that he tried to gaslight me with the first time. Nothing had changed. I doubt they even did anything to look into the machine. This was last week when I had called and spoken to him over the phone.
These crooks screwed me out of $450. It's not a huge amount of money but it is for one person and it is my damn money, regardless of how much. I know that these bastards chase people out of the casino for as little as $20 that they accidentally overpay.
Do I have any kind of bureaucratic or legal recourse here? Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks for reading and sorry for the length.

2023.06.07 20:23 CLMalone84 White Sign Soapstone idea
Thinking of introducing the White Sign Soapstone into a campaign. Once per session they can use it to "be summoned" into an NPCs world. Role a d20, and based on the number, throw them into a boss battle. If they die, there's no penalty. If they win, bonus souls.
Thoughts?

2023.06.07 20:19 PromisedLandSeeker16 5 DAYS LEFT to sign up for the SPROUT CUP! (Pikmin 2 1v1 Tournament via Parsec with 20 Original Custom Maps, Game Not Required)
We are Sprout House, a community dedicated to Pikmin tournaments. We've been running tourneys open to anyone and everyone since July 2020, and this is our newest yet! We currently have 10 people participating, but we hope to get this number up before the tourney starts!
This is a Pikmin 2 2-Player Battle 1v1 tournament, but it's not the VS mode you're used to! Our official Sprout Cup Hack replaces the existing maps with 20 all-new custom ones! Additionally, there are numerous balance changes to ensure a fair throwdown, from being able to carry your own marble to the removal of egg sprays to Pikmin-on-Pikmin fights being deterministic rather than RNG-based!
The maps feature all-new game-changing additions, such as mini marbles that award a full marble each time you collect 5, a purple marble on some maps that instantly wins the round when collected but is slow to carry, a special marble that you carry to your OPPONENT's onion on some maps, various new obstacles and hazards such as bridges, seesaw blocks and even the Waterwraith... and a timer to keep the pressure on!
There will be fixtures published at the beginning of each week. Matches will usually be on weekends. If your fixture doesn't work for you, you can ask for it to be moved to another time and/or date. Participants will be matched against each other in a double-elimination bracket tree. Win your match to advance up the ranks, but you'll have a second chance (or maybe more) if you lose! We have dedicated hosts in North America and Europe, who will handle all the multiplayer stuff on their end - just join the Parsec and soon enough you'll get straight to the action! We also have a tech support on hand to assess any problems you may have setting up.
To participate, you will need Parsec (a FREE program that lets you remotely access another person's computer) and a decent internet connection. We also
strongly recommend a controller.
You do NOT need the game or the hack, but you are welcome to try it out yourself if you want.
Whether you're interested in participating or just want to watch, join our Discord server HERE -
https://discord.gg/8rubGFkQVA The Discord is where we do everything - it's where the matches happen and where you can get involved with our community. We upload recordings of our matches, with all the boring bits in between rounds edited out, to our YouTube channel. Our matches have insightful and entertaining live commentary, and for each round everyone gets to vote on the maps the participants will play!
The tournament starts on June 12th, so don't miss out! Got any questions? Ask them in the Discord or comment down below!

2023.06.07 20:15 6arwood Issue detecting threefold repetition in search
I've been working on adding threefold repetition detection to my engine so it doesn't blunder to a forced repetition when it has a better position. I've gotten it to the point where it works occasionally if it is the one going for the draw. (Ex: when playing as white in this position "r1b1kb2/pppnqNp1/6B1/8/3Pp3/8/PPPK2PP/RNB5 w - - 4 14" it can find the draw, but when playing as white in this position "8/4Q3/5rk1/8/1p3P2/2pp2PP/7K/1qB5 w - - 1 3" it can't)
What I have noticed is that when the engine plays as black in these two positions, it does not notice the draw and believes it is winning. I have a feeling that this is the root of the issue but I'm not sure how to go about fixing it.
I'm using zobrist hashing to create hashes for the board positions and am storing the number of times a position occurred in a hashmap called repetition_table. This count is then used in is_threefold_repetition() where it checks if the count is greater than or equal to 3 (when a position is added the count starts at 1).
Here is the code for my search. I'm using negamax for the main search and have a quiescence search that goes through all captures, checks, and promotions. Also, the clone_with_move() function clones the board position, makes the move, and changes the active player color.
// Using i16 MIN and MAX to separate out mating moves // There was an issue where the engine would not play the move that leads to mate // as the move values were the same const NEG_INF: i32 = (std::i16::MIN + 1) as i32; const INF: i32 = -NEG_INF; const MATE_VALUE: i32 = std::i32::MAX - 1; pub struct Searcher { move_gen: MoveGenerator, zobrist: ZobristTable, transposition_table: TranspositionTable, repetition_table: RepetitionTable, } impl Searcher { pub fn new() -> Self { Self { move_gen: MoveGenerator::new(), zobrist: ZobristTable::new(), transposition_table: TranspositionTable::new(), repetition_table: RepetitionTable::new(), } } pub fn best_move(&mut self, board: &Board, max_depth: u8) -> (i32, Option) { let mut best_move = None; let mut best_score = NEG_INF as i32; for depth in 1..max_depth+1 { (best_score, best_move) = self.negamax_alpha_beta(board, NEG_INF, INF, depth); let board_hash = self.zobrist.hash(board); self.transposition_table.store(board_hash, best_score, best_move, depth, Bounds::Lower); } (best_score, best_move) } fn negamax_alpha_beta(&mut self, board: &Board, alpha: i32, beta: i32, depth: u8) -> (i32, Option) { let original_alpha = alpha; let mut alpha = alpha; let mut beta = beta; let board_hash = self.zobrist.hash(board); self.repetition_table.increment_position_count(board_hash); // Check for three fold repetition if self.repetition_table.is_threefold_repetition(board_hash) { self.repetition_table.decrement_position_count(board_hash); return (0, None); } // Check transposition table for an entry let tt_entry = self.transposition_table.retrieve(board_hash); let mut tt_best_move = None; // If the depth is lower, the TT move is still likely to be the best in the position // from iterative deepening, so we sort it first.
