When Rita Repulsa was trapped within a space dumpster on the moon, so too were several of her loyal followers. Most fearsome of these was Goldar, the general of her armies. While the others would mostly stay on the back lines, or serve only to steal or plant an item while the Power Rangers were distracted by putties, Goldar would face them head-on, giving them a tough fight whether they were fighting in person or in their Zords.

2023.06.03 13:13 as_abuv_so_beloe Leaving My Job of 8 Years for the Better

I (36F) have been trying to figure myself out - who I want to be, what I need in life and for the foreseeable future. Part of this process is this feeling that my current job, which I've been dedicated to for almost 8 years, no longer serves me and that maybe it's time to move on. I can't shake my feeling that my time in the company is drawing to an end in a good way.
I've been trying to practice acceptance and in doing so came to the conclusion that my needs aren't in the best interest of my current employers or even feasible at this time and for a while. A year or two ago, I would have been pissed about it and looked for jobs out of spite. I would have insisted that my bosses owe me and screwed me over or took advantage of my dedication/loyalty. I don't necessarily think that's the case, nor would it do me any good (or matter) to think that way.
My employers are good friends of mine and have always been open to and address my concerns/needs. They offered me my current position a couple of years ago, knowing I wanted to get my foot in the door and back into the system full-time. I am compensated well in my benefits package and my pay is standard for my degree and experience levels in our state. My hours are okay, my work/life balance is great. My team is small and we have been out on our own little island for the most part for years. We support each other and I try to advocate for their needs/issues as much as I can.
I am in a dual patient care and leadership position, which leans more toward the leadership end. It feels more like a customer service gig - especially lately - which pulls me away from clinical practice. I spend a lot of time doing damage control and making sure our providers get their notes done, fix any of their errors, and remember to send in prescriptions/do paperwork. In the past year, one of our office branches has been dealing with quite a few issues which takes up time and resources of upper management and has affected my location to some degree. I didn't get the job transfer I was promised because of it. There's no room for growth unless I get my NP license, which I have no interest in. I haven't been happy here for these reasons plus a few others I left out because you would be reading this post all day otherwise. I have been open with my discontent with my supervisors.
I know upper management is very busy - not just trying to catch things before they hit the floor at our sister branch, trying to get everything back in order there, but also their lives outside of work. I've had a lot of email correspondence with my supervisor about my concerns and frustrations. He gave me plenty of positive feedback and validated my concerns for a while. He is very optimistic that things will work out and our branch will flourish again, and he will make sure what has happened to our sister branch won't happen to us. But his correspondence about these things has started feeling kind of empty or trying to explain himself for not being as present. His problems are pretty big compared to mine and honestly, I feel like I'm just complaining to him more than anything at this point. He always says we need to have a meeting with the other higher ups to figure these things out together, but these meetings never happen. No one has the time.
So, I decided in the last few weeks to start seeking employment elsewhere. A job opening popped up while I was casually looking and it's something I'm really interested in, I qualify for, has good hours, and great benefits. I applied for it. I was notified that my application was forwarded to hiring manager already, which means I may be contacted for an interview. I used my supervisor as a professional reference and let him know he will likely get a call about it. He told me he appreciated the heads up and transparency. Some of my colleagues see this as an opportunity for me to use my potential departure as leverage and asked if supervisor made a counteroffer, but that isn't my intention and he didn't, nor did I expect him to. They have to do what's best for them, I have to do what's best for me. And that's okay.

Defense attorneys completed their closing arguments, labeling the Arvizo family liars and con artists trying to pull “the biggest con of their careers”.
"They are trying to take advantage of Michael Jackson," said impassioned defense attorney Thomas Mesereau. "They are trying to profit from Michael Jackson. They think they have pulled it off. They are just waiting for one thing - your verdict."
"What they are trying to do to Michael Jackson is so harmful, so brutal, so devastating if you have any reasonable doubt about the double-talk, the lies, its over. You must acquit Michael Jackson," he told the 12 jurors.
Mesereau spoke about the American system of justice and said, "We have the best system in the world and ladies and gentlemen I'm begging you to honor the system. You must acquit him."
He accused prosecutors of trying to "dirty up Michael" because they lack the evidence to prove their case.
"The witnesses are preposterous, the perjury is everywhere," Mesereau declared. "None of it works. The only thing they've had is to throw dirt all over the place and hope it sticks."
He added: "If you look in your hearts do you believe Michael Jackson is evil in that way? Is it even possible? It really is not."
Mesereau then played excerpts from a video in which Jackson denies any sexual impropriety and said that he had “never been betrayed or deceived by children.”
The defense attorney conceded that Jackson had been lax with his money and had let the wrong people into his circle. But, he said, the singer was not the “monster” the prosecution were trying to depict and that he was not guilty of any crime.
Afterwards, prosecutor Ron Zonen delivered a brief rebuttal. He sought to answer the question of Jackson’s motivation for the crime asking, "Why would Mr. Jackson do it? Because he could This child was in love with him. This child would do anything he said."
Zonen reminded jurors of the past allegations made against Jackson saying that this was necessary in order to “see the total picture”. He claimed that Jackson was “in love” with his 1993 accuser and added that the current accuser is a “clone” of the boy in that case.
After both sides rested for the last time, Judge Rodney Melville ordered the eight women and four men on the jury to begin their deliberations. He gave them a 98-page book of instructions.
The Judge told Jackson that he could stay at Neverland during the proceedings but requested that the attorneys remain within 10 minutes of the courthouse in case the jurors had any questions.
These deliberations are the final stage of an ordeal that began 14 weeks ago. During this time the jury has heard testimony from over 130 witnesses.
A verdict was expected early next week.

2013 - Jackson v AEG Trial Day 22
No Jackson family member was at the courthouse.
Paul Gongaware
AEG cross
Putnam asked Gongaware if MJ was comfortable with all the show dates. "Yes, I went through all of the dates with him," Gongaware said. Bugzee, the tour manager, had a big calendar on the walls, Gongaware explained, saying they changed the dates of the shows four times. The jury was shown an email in which Gongaware worked with a staffer to create a calendar to show Jackson. He wanted colors changed. He wanted the calendar to be changed so that it reflected Jackson's show dates and off days differently. Gongaware email:
Figure it out so it looks like he's not working so much
As to the email, Putnam asked if he was trying to fool Michael:
"No, I was trying to make it clear, trying to get it just the way I wanted it," Gongaware responded.
After changing 4 show dates Gongaware said Michael was comfortable with it. He would do 8 shows in July, 10 in August, 9 in September. There would be no shows in October, November and December, resuming with 10 shows in January, 10 in February and three in March. No back-to-back shows. Gongaware said the O2 Arena had a previous commitment in Oct-Dec of 2009 and they could not have the concerts.

Putnam: "Was this a rigorous schedule?"
Gongaware: "No, not at all"
Gongaware recalled that on the HIStory tour they did 10-12 shows per month, from country to country, but this one would stay in London only. Gongaware said he wasn't concerned with Michael's age. "He seemed great to me," he said, and this was stationary show, didn't have to travel.
Gongaware:
The reason Michael wanted to delay the 1st show was he wanted more time to rehearse in the O2 Arena where the show would take place.
He said Michael and Kenny Ortega would decide the rehearsal schedule. Gongaware explained Michael didn't have to attend rehearsals, since it was not part of his deal. He said they never require an artist to rehearse. "I didn't have any expectation," Gongaware said regarding Michael rehearsing. He said he's never seen a requirement for a musicial artist to rehearse & that during the HIStory tour, Michael didn't rehearse but nailed it. "When it was game time, he would show up," Gongaware explained. For instance, Gongaware cited an outdoor concert in Bangkok in high heat, humidity.
As to the email Gongaware wrote about calling Michael lazy, he said he used unfortunate choices of words, Michael didn't like to rehearse.
Talking about the elements of the show, Gongaware described what they wanted to do for the opening of the show. He said Michael would be dressed up in a LED suit, like a television, flashing on him brief movie about things that happened in history. Michael would be lowered down onto the stage. He called the LED suit a "Moon man" suit, but Ortega called it "Light man." Putnam showed a presentation of how the LED suit idea would work. Footage is not on This Is It documentary because it was early stages of prep. Gongaware said the 1st idea was to make Michael float from the audience, but they couldn't make it work. So they decided to lower him down onto the stage. Gongaware said the big screen on the back of the stage was 3D capable. The audience would be given glasses when they entered the show. The 3D songs would be Thriller, Earth Song and Smooth Criminal. "He wanted to do biggest, best show ever, live show," Gongaware said
Putnam showed email chain from Ortega to Gongaware asking to make a deal with choreographer Travis Payne. Answer from Gongaware:
This is not AEG money, it's Michael's money so it takes a lot of time to get approvals
Defendants were trying to establish a pattern that all the money spent was actually Michael's money, not AEG's, just like with Dr. Murray
At one point Gongaware said he learned from Michael about a doctor named Murray. "He came to me and said he wanted his personal doctor on the tour". Gongaware said he suggested to Michael to get a licensed doctor in London who would know the lay of the land, in case of need. "This is the machine, we have to take care of the machine. I want Conrad," Gongaware said Michael responded. I think what he meant was his brain could create it but his body had to deliver the show every night

Putnam: "Were you surprised he wanted to take his doctor on tour?"
Gongaware: "No"
Putnam: "Why not?"
Gongaware: "He had doctors before"
Gongaware said other artists take doctors as well, so he was not the only one and it didn't surprise him. Gongaware said he's been on tour before where an artist had chiropractors, but couldn't remember being in one with a doctor
Putnam: "Did you worry Michael might have a health issue?"
Gongaware: "No"
Putnam: "Why not?"
Gongaware: "He seemed fine to me, had a physical and passed"
Gongaware said the suggestion for a London doctor was due to the cost; paying a doctor full time was much more expensive than hiring a local doctor. Gongaware said Dr. Murray treated Michael for about three years before 2009. He knew the doctor was from Las Vegas but said he was in LA. Gongaware said he then called Dr. Murray to work out a deal. Gongaware testified he didn't have Michael's direct phone number, would go through Michael Amir Williams, his personal assistant, to reach him. Gongaware called Murray on behalf of Michael saying the singer wanted to take him to London. "What do you want to be paid for that," Gongaware asked. Gongaware said he thought Dr. Murray was expecting his call and was aware of the desire to take him on tour. "He said he would need $5 million," Gongaware recalled. "He said he has 4 clinics to close, would lay off people, needs $5 million for that." Asked by Putnam if Murray's price was reasonable: "It was ridiculous," Gongaware said about the amount asked. "It was a lot of money for something like that and Michael could not afford it." Gongaware said he responded that it wasn't going to work" He said this was the first time he spoke with Dr. Murray. After that, Gongaware said he told Michael Amir and Randy Phillips what the doctor had asked. He also told Frank DiLeo. Gongaware said a lot of people who wanted to work for MJ asked for huge sums of money, thinking he had a lot.
Putnam: "Would you be doing this if Michael had not asked you?"
Gongaware: "No"
Putnam: "Did you contemplate bringing a doctor on tour?"
Gongaware: "I didn't think he needed one, we didn't have one in History, he was fine"
"He was Michael's doctor, Michael wanted him. That was it," Gongaware said.

Putnam:" Did you think about checking the doctor?"
Gongaware: "No"
Putnam: "Why not?"
Gongaware: "He was Michael's doctor"
" I'm not going to tell Michael Jackson who his doctor should be," Gongaware explained. "It wasn't my place to say who his doctor was going to be," Gongaware said. "It was his decision."
Gongaware said he doesn't think a doctor's financial situation has anything to do with being an ethical doctor. Gongaware said it never crossed his mind to either do a background check on Dr. Murray or to suggest to anyone to do it. "I just expect doctors to be ethical, the financial side of their lives shouldn't have an impact on their medical decision," Gongaware opined.
Gongaware said he never did a background check on anyone he hired and had he done one on Dr. Murray, it would've been out of the ordinary.
He also said he never considered performing background checks on Jackson's makeup artist, a choreographer who worked one-on-one with the singer or Kenny Ortega, the tour's director. "I didn't see the need for it," he said.
Dr. Finkelstein, a friend of Gongaware, said a doctor should charge $10,000 a month for the tour work. But Dr. Finkelstein would've done it for free, since he was on the Dangerous tour before and had a lot of fun
The second call about Dr. Murray came from Michael Amir Williams saying they were going to need to get a deal done for the doctor. Gongaware said he heard Michael in the car saying "offer 150, offer 150." Gongaware understood that to be $150k/month. Gongaware called Dr. Murray, said he was authorized to offer him $150k a month. He said Dr. Murray responded that he couldn't do it for that. Gongaware told him the offer came directly from the artist and Dr. Murray responded: "I'll take it" Gongaware said Michael approved the amount of compensation. "Michael told me offer 150," Gongaware recalled. "And that's what I did." Gongaware inquired from Dr. Murray how he would get a license in London and the doctor told him not to worry about it. They talked about Dr. Murray's request for a house in London, and the doctor said he would need a three bedroom house. Gongaware recalled Dr. Murray saying he would probably need an assistant and some equipment, but no details were given at this point. After the call, Gongaware said he let Michael Amir Williams know what the result was in a May 6th email: Done at 150k per month, per MJ. He needs about 10 days to wind down his practice then he will be full time
Asked why he had negotiated with Murray, the AEG executive replied that he was "instructed to by Michael Jackson." Gongaware said there was no other reason for him to deal with the doctor. Marvin Putnam asked Gongaware why he didn't tell Jackson he couldn't take Murray on tour with him."Because he could if he wanted," Gongaware said.
Gongaware said he passed Dr. Murray on to Timm Wooley, never had any other conversation with Dr. Murray about him possibly going to London.
Putnam: "Do you have any understanding as to whether a contract with Dr. Murray was executed?"
Gongaware: "One never was"
Putnam: "Did AEG pay Dr. Murray any kind of money?"
Gongaware: "No"
Gongaware said Michael was ultimately responsible for his own health:
"I think everyone is responsible for their own health and well being. He was a grown man with the capability to make decisions regarding his health and medical care"
Putnam showed Gongaware a frame from the This Is It film in which Jackson's manager, Frank Dileo, was sitting in on dancer auditions. Dancers auditions took place at the Nokia Theater on April 13, 14 & 15. Michael attended the last day and made the final decision, Gongaware said. He said Ortega wanted to film the audition to use fresh footage on michaeljacksonlive.com. The cost for crew to shoot the audition was very high, so Gongaware bought a couple of cameras and used his own crew to shoot the rehearsals. He said he wasn't sure what he would use the video for, but thought the website would be a good platform.
Gongaware said during the period at Center Staging, Michael was good, engaging, didn't think there were any health issues or was using drugs
Gongaware said the media in the UK was going wild with gossip about Michael Jackson. "They just lie about things." The Sun claimed Michael had skin cancer on his chest. "It was sport over in London," Gongaware said about stories on tabloids. Gongaware testified about emails in which UK press agents working on This Is It sent him tabloid reports on Michael's health. Gongaware said he urged the press agents not to respond. He wanted Jackson's performance to speak for itself & silence skeptics.
Gongaware on 5/27/09:
The Kid is healthy and rehearsing every day. He was still there at dance rehearsals at 9pm last night when I left. Our redemption will be when he does his shows, that makes all of this build up so damn sweet. We don't have to sell tickets, so we can just sit back and prove them wrong by just doing it.
Gongaware said he was not concerned
"If there was something going on, if he had cancer, we would've heard about it."
Michael Jackson rehearsal venues:
  • Mar 28- Center Staging
  • May 27- Forum June 23 - Staples Center
  • July 13 - O2 Arena
Putnam also asked Gongaware about an incident Karen Faye testified about, that she heard him yelling at Michael's assistant one day. The incident occurred while This Is It rehearsals were happening at The Forum in LA. Faye claimed she heard Gongaware yelling about Jackson being late to a rehearsal and told his assistant to get him there. "Never, never happened," Gongaware said, shaking his head.
Putnam went through a chain of emails about tabloid reports in the UK regarding Michael. In one, it said Michael had asked AEG to reduce the number of shows by half. Gongaware said that such a discussion never happened. Gongaware testified he woke up to one gossip headline pretty much every day. His idea was simply to ignore the tabloids. "An amazing show would be the answer", Gongaware said
Gongaware on 6/5/09 in response to Sunday Mirror Query:
"We can only make this work, of course, if MJ puts on the best show of his life. I'm here to tell you that be will. I have seen it for myself. Last night he ran 9 songs with full band, singers and dancers. Sang every one, he was amazing, captivating, riveting. And he's just getting started. Taking it one step further. When people realize that bulls**t the press has been, they will be in receptive mood for the truth Hey look. No skin cancer. He's just a good dad, loving raising his kids. His art and his craft are paramount. A gentle, loving man who does care about people
"The shows were going to be spectacular," Gongaware said. Putnam showed a clip of Michael in front of a green screen with 11 dancers, who would become 11,000. Gongaware said Michael was great at this point
Regarding email Phillips sent Gongaware directing to remove Michael's "skeletal" scenes Gongaware said he didn't take anything out of the movie.
Putnam: "Did you remove anything from the movie?"
Gongaware: "No"
Putnam showed a clip from This Is It with the making of "Thriller 3D" and Jackson wearing red jacket.
Putnam: "Did you try to alter in anyway how Mr. Jackson looked, appeared?"
Gongaware: "No"
Gongaware said he didn't remember any of the footage been removed because of how Michael looked. "We just let the footage speak for itself"
The mini-movie of "Earth Song" a bulldozer would come out from a ramp in center stage.
Putnam: "A real bulldozer?"
Gongaware: "I wish, it would've been cheaper, but it would have crushed our ramps"
Gongaware said they had to build the bulldozer like a prop. It would appear at the end of the song on stage. "I think the live audience would be just captivated by it," Gongaware said about the little girl running after the last plant on Earth song.
End of the show would be 3D animation. An airplane taxis up, door opens, Michael entered the plane. The airplane door closes, Michael would actually take an elevator down and out of the building, but the plane would take off over the audience
Gongaware said he didn't know if anyone was responsible for Michael's nourishment. Tour would be demanding and exhausting
Gongaware said he met Dr. Murray once at MJ's Carolwood house and ran into him at The Forum during rehearsal. There was a meeting scheduled to discuss Michael's nutrition with Randy Phillips, Kenny Ortega, Dr. Murray, Michael, Gongaware and DiLeo.
Putnam: "Do you recall anyone in that meeting ever telling Dr. Murray how he should be treating Michael?"
Gongaware: "No"
Gongaware said he didn't have any medical training and wasn't qualified to tell Conrad Murray how to treat Jackson
Gongaware said neither Dr. Murray nor Michael talked about the treatment he was receiving. The meeting was about nutrition & vitamin therapy. Gongaware said he had no idea Dr. Murray was giving Michael Propofol and first heard of the anesthetic after Michael died. Gongaware said Dr. Murray was really engaged in the meeting, seemed like a very intelligent guy and wanted to take care of Michael very much. This was the first time Gongaware met with Dr. Murray. He said there were no signs of Michael being poorly treated by the doctor. "Michael was engaged in the meeting, attentive, seemed happy we were having this meeting," Gongaware opined. "He's a doctor, he'd know better than anybody how to treat his patient," Gongaware said about Dr. Murray.
As to Gongaware's email saying AEG, not Michael, paid Dr Murray he said he was mistaken. "We wouldn't pay his salary, we'd advance Michael's money". Gongaware said he didn't remember writing/receiving the email, but never denied he did it.
As to Michael being habitually late, Gongaware said the singer worked on his own schedule, did things his way
Gongaware said his understanding was that Michael hired a trainer of his choice, Louis (Lou) Ferrigno: "I made the deal with him (Ferrigno). He was supposed to be paid a certain amount of money per session" He didn't elaborate on fee, how many times he worked with Michael. Putnam showed an email from Travis Payne, he suggested a massage chair to be put in Michael's dressing room.
As to Bugzee's email saying MJ needed cheeseburgers, brats and beers, Gongaware said Bugzee was joking, Bugzee cared very much for Michael. Gongaware testified he didn't recall having any concern about Michael's health/using painkillers as of Monday 6/15/09, 10 days prior to his death
Gongaware was asked about several emails that have been shown before, including messages related to MJ missing rehearsal on June 19, 2009. The executive was on the East Coast for a family wedding, but responded to one message questioning why Murray wasn't at rehearsal. Gongaware email:
Take the doctor with you. Why wasn't he there last night?
He then explained his thinking to the jury. Gongaware:
If his patient is having a problem and he's sick, and he's his only patient, it seemed like he should be there
Gongaware said on 6/19/09, he was out of town. "This is the day Michael had chills at rehearsal and was apparently sick," Gongaware recalled. "If the meeting was going to be about what happened that night, the doctor should be there," Gongaware said.
Gongaware said he believed Michael wanted to go on tour. He said he doesn't remember anyone talking about pulling the plug on the shows.
Putnam: "Did anyone tell you at this point that Michael needed a drug addiction specialist?"
Gongaware: "No"
Putnam: "Did anyone tell you they were concerned with the care Dr. Murray was giving to Michael?"
Gongaware: "No"
Gongaware said that on 6/20/09 he did not think Michael's health was deteriorating.
With last questions of the day, Putnam asked Gongaware if he was concerned about Jackson's well-being. He said "Yes"

2023.06.03 12:55 ValuablePoetry7146 Searching for a manhwa

So there is this manhwa or maybe manhua (not sure could either be Korean or Chinese) I've read it a while ago and don't remember the title it was about this guy who can travel between two worlds the original world is a modern world and he is a normal university (maybe high-school) and there is this girl who he likes (she also likes him) who is form a high statues family and the first time he travels to the other world is when there is this character who hates the Mc (cause he has a crush on the girl and she likes Mc not him) so he gets a gang and kicks him out of the roof to kill him but the Mc ends up traveling to the other world which an ancient world with martial arts he ends up meeting a girl in that world who was injured ( she was shot by an arrow in an ambush I think) and about to die so he saves her and after some stuff happens she makes him choose between marrying her or dying (there some reason for this but I don't remember clearly I think it was something having to do with him forming some form of bond with her while treating her injury) then he accompanies her and apparently she is one of the strongest people of that world (like top 10) and she is the head of her house which is a warrior type household I think which protects their empire)/kingdom anyways after a series of events he enters her household and figures out how to travel between the two worlds he takes ancient medicine from the old world and sells it in the modern world with his university friends and takes modern stuff (torch light, camera and I think a radio or something similar) to the old world to help his wife
There is many more details but that's all I can remember if someone knows about it please let me know

2023.06.03 12:52 Mysterious_Bath P.U.R.E Booking - Booking Ilja Dragunov on the Main Roster - Part 3

Following the events of Elimination Chamber, Dragunov looks persistent on training for his big match against his leader at Wrestlemania for the coveted IC Championship. Following Dragunov's victory, Gunther gets a bit nervous due to Dragunov being one of two people to beat him in WWE. He tries to combat this by ensuring Dragunov isn't able to have matches but he is unsuccessful in doing this. Instead, he forces Dragunov to endure a Open Challenge Gauntlet Match to prove that he is a worthy challenger. Gunther also puts Dragunov's IC Championship opportunity on the line to give him that extra security leading to Wrestlemania. This forced stipulation does not bode well with Dragunov but he still goes ahead with this added torture because HE'S ILJA FUCKING DRAGUNOV!!
With Gunther observing from the outside, Dragunov stands in the ring, awaiting his first opponent who turns out to be Angel Garza. Garza is toyed about with for a few minutes before Dragunov hits him with the Torpedo Moscow to dispatch of the first competitor. Next to come out is Ashante Adonis, much to Gunther's displeasure. Dragunov makes Adonis his bitch, sending him back to catering with the Torpedo Moscow. This continues to happen as more and more jobbers come out just to be smacked out by Dragunov. This leads to Gunther just stopping the match and telling Dragunov he's proved nothing here, so instead, he'll have a 2v1 handicap match next week against Vinci and Kaiser.
The numbers disadvantage does take a toll on Dragunov heading into the start of the bout but he manages to recuperate and take on both men at once. Dragunov eventually lays his stablemates out, ending the match by choking the life out of Vinci with the same submission he beat Gunther with, all while staring a whole through Gunther who for the first time in his career looks to be at unease. As Gunther enters the ring, he and Dragunov butt heads as Dragunov asks him if thats enough, before exiting the ring.
Next week, Imperium bring Dragunov out as it appears Gunther has finally decided Dragunov is worthy challenger, but reveals he has one challenge left. Out of nowhere, Kaiser and Vinci jump Dragunov as Gunther looks down on him, calling him pathetic and saying he'll never be worthy to be a challenger for his title. Gunther then pushes his stablemates away, taking matters into his own hands as he starts choking out Dragunov. Dragunov eventually fades as Gunther hits him with the Last Symphony. Gunther doesn't think this is enough however, and calls for the steel steps in the ring. Kaiser brings them in the ring as Gunther picks Dragunov up on his shoulders and POWERBOMBS HIM ON THE STEPS!! Vinci and Kaiser drag Dragunov's lifeless body out of the ring as they begin tearing the announce table apart. Gunther joins them and puts the final nail in the coffin, POWERBOMBING HIM THROUGH THE TABLE!! Imperium begins backing away, looking proud at the carnage they've produced as Dragunov is stretchered out of the arena.
As the weeks close in, the chances of Dragunov getting his title match look slimmer and slimmer. That is until two weeks before Wrestlemania, during a Tag Team title match between Imperium and Alpha Academy, DRAGUNOV MADE HIS RETURN!!! He comes down to the ring as Vinci and Kaiser look in disbelief. Alpha Academy would begin distracting the referee as the champions come down to attack Dragunov, who lays out both of them. Dragunov would go on to hit Kaiser with a Torpedo Moscow before rolling him back in the ring, allowing Alpha Academy to steal the titles as Dragunov manages to rectify the first of his mistakes in Imperium.
The second mistake? Sticking by Gunther's side. On the RAW before Wrestlemania, Gunther and Dragunov come face to face on last time, and despite Gunther's best efforts over the past month and a bit, he still has to come face to face with his worst nightmare. Imperium walk out with him, clearly fucking pissed after last week's shenanigans but Gunther sends them to the back, insisting he wants to face his biggest demon on his own. Gunther tries getting into Dragunov's head, telling him he respects him after everything he's endured and understands why , but it doesn't work as Dragunov looks to get revenge, attacking Gunther as a form of revenge for last week. He hits him with a Torpedo Moscow as he vows to end Gunther's tyrancy over RAW.
Wrestlemania XL:
This is it. His big shot. Will Dragunov end Gunther's reign of terror, or will the tyrant reign supreme? Things don't look well for Dragunov in the beginning as he is manhandled by Gunther but after an unexpected slip-up from Gunther which Dragunov capitalises upon, he finds himself in the driver's seat, even hitting Gunther with a Torpedo Moscow but only getting a 2 count. Gunther would respond to this with his vicious chops before hitting that Powerbomb which gets a 2 as well. Gunther continues his assault, not letting Dragunov get a touch of offence in with the fear slipping through the cracks. This fear would turn into desperation as Gunther would hit a trifecta of Powerbombs for A 1 COUNT???!! Dragunov would come back to his feet right after this, clearly fired up as he knocks Gunther's head off with a brutal Lariat. This isn't enough as he hits the Torpedo Moscow as the reign looks set to be over BUT GUNTHER KICKS OUT AGAIN!! Dragunov then goes to the move which helped him beat Gunther 3 years prior, but Gunther scouts it and escapes before HITTING A BURNING LARIAT AND THE FINAL SYMPHONY!! 1..2..KICKOUT!!! DRAGUNOV IS NOT HUMAN!! Gunther's desperation picks up as he goes to the final resort, the Gojira Clutch. Dragunov evades it though and OUT OF NOWHERE HITS A TORPEDO MOSCOW!! He goes to the corner and signals for another, WHICH HE HITS!!! 1..2..3!! GUNTHER'S 667 DAY REIGN IS OVER!!!

2023.06.03 12:43 Entity904 World Building Post: The Enili Princedom

Enili is one of the largest southern princedoms, the strength of which is heavily reliant upon the support of the Kawriq Empire. It is ruled by a prince, currently Izevel, who is the head of the princedom senate, overseer of the court of judges, and possesses unquestionable executive power within the nation.
The soil there is of a bright orange to dark brown coloration. Alhough it does not hold many natural resources, it is a treasure in itself, fertile and capable of sustaining great forests and farmlands. Woodwork, harvested crops, livestock meats and furs, woven fabric, pottery and glass, as well as experienced professionals make up most of the country's exports. Metals, spices, alcohols, scrolls of papyrus and many other materials need to be purchased from merchants from the north, east, and west. The people of Enili commonly use clay tablets for writing and notation, but since the nation fell under the influence of the Kawriq Empire papyrus scrolls began to significantly gain on popularity.
The princedom does not possess a large army, and its city lacks in strategic defenses. However, it does maintain a fleet of over fifty state-owned ships to deal with pirates and perform escorts of important individuals and resources, while the city militia is numerous, well-trained, and well-equipped.
The City of Enili, located on the most eastern flank of the Kawriq civilization and easily accessible from land and sea by travelers and merchants from far away, has become a safe stop for those travelers. It allows them to rest in their journey, make repairs to their vessels and equipment, and resupply at a relatively cheap price. Many buildings at the center of the city were built out of white imported marble and sandstone, while on the outskirts wood and orange clay bricks are the most dominant materials.
The city has been expanding both in population and size at an unprecedented pace for the last few years, reaching no less than one hundred thousand citizens, about sixty thousand non-citizens (mostly immigrants from Kawriq, and people from the dry and hot north) and thirty thousand peasants with limited rights. To gain a citizenship and the benefits it grants one has to serve at least twenty four years in the city militia, navy or military (and half as much to become a half-citizen) or be born to a pair of citizens, or one citizen and one half-citizen. Half-citizens are effectively citizens who were born to pairs of a citizen and a non-citizen, however child of a pair of two half-citizens will always be a non-citizen. They can improve their status and become a full citizen by paying a half-citizen tax for twelve years and completing a written test of citizenship.
The city posses a primitive, mostly covered sewage system, making it suprisingly clean and pleasant-smelling for its size.
The faith of the feathered twins has recently become the main religion, and while the cults of most of the lesser gods have died out or been nearly completely abandoned, however their statues and symbols are still understood to attract good spirits. They are still actively prayed to, but more as a group. Those relics of the past can often be seen in public meeting areas and households, bringing luck to the citizens. Similarly, the fossils and bones of long-dead animals have always been understood to protect from tge evil spirits, the fuller and more accurately articulated the skeleton, the better. In accordance with the dominant Enili philosophy known as the "palace of the higher needs," no temples or ancient statues were purposefully demolished. Instead, they were repurposed to serve the feathered twins. The religious conversion was mostly swift and bloodless, thanks to countless public speeches by philosophers, government officials, and public representatives, as well as successful negotiations between interested parties.
There are many skilled craftsmen living within Enili, purchasing raw resources from merchants and selling finished products with profit. Many private, priesthood-owned and state-owned schools exist there, the most well known of which is the Enili School of Craftsmanship and Philosophy, located in a repurposed ancient temple on the western bank of the river Izu. According to many the Enili School represents the highest standard of education in all southern princedoms. A large population of alchemists lives in the eastern part of the city, producing and selling a great number of elixirs of questionable effectiveness, though there are many things they produce that have been proven to function as intended, coloured glass being one of them. The woodwork sector is also strong within the city, producing great art, furniture, and sturdy ships of the Enili pattern. Many poets, artists, sculptors, architects, engineers, and philosophers also live within the city, and their works are the pride of Enili people.
The coinage there is somewhat unusual. The "unicorns" are the very recently introduced coins of the highest value. They are round, made of platinum and iron, and bear the image of the creature on one side and the stylized profile carving of Izevel on the other. They are worth one thousand of the golden coins each. The "envoys" are the second most valuable coin, made of gold, square, and with a hole at the center. They bear the image of two envoy birds on one side and the ruler of the Kawriq Empire on the other. There is also another, older version of this coin still in use called "phoenixes," which has the image of a phoenix on one side and the likeness of either Izevel, Izevel's father, or another old ruler on the other. Each golden coin is worth twelve silver coins. The triangular silver "altars," each with a hole in the middle, bear the images of a fish, a crowhorse, and wheat, respectively in each of the corners, and the panorama of Enili on the other side. Each silver coin is worth twelve of the round coloured glass coins, known as "tokens", which can bear a great variety of state-mandated symbols, and are mostly orange in coloration.
The Morning Mountains Colony is a territory aquired relatively recently by the Princedom of Enili by a threat of force and exchange of many coins. It's a small but growing city located near the source of river Izu, counting around ten thousand non-citizens in population. It is ruled by a council made up of its inhabitants and a governor from the City of Enili. The Colony is relatively prosperous and content with it's current political situation. Trade has significantly increased since it joined the princedom, living conditions have improved and a few schools and roads have been built. It's better fortified than the City of Enili, with a steep cliff protecting it from one side and a palisade from the other. The Colony possesses a military force counting around one hundred armored envoy riders, three hundred crowhorse-riding archers, three hundred infantry and ten ships. The purpose of this very expansive force (maintained mostly from the taxes of the citizens of the City of Enili) is to protect the trade routes, eliminate bandits, maintain peace and protect the north of the Princedom of Enili.

2023.06.03 12:41 JackkSkyline 20 [M4F] #Western Australia # Perth #Online - looking for a duo :)

Hi everyone!
My name is Jack, I'm 20 and I'm studying cyber forensics and internetworking security at uni, I have just started my 3rd year but I hope to go on for a few more years and do post grad studies!
That has to be my biggest long term goal, however some other goals of mine would be to get my dream car (I'm so close!), move out, finish my undergraduate degree, improve my skin and hair care (I'm trying quite a bit of products and I have the hair care okay (not the style lol) and my skin is better but I'd love to have it better) and find a girlfriend, hence why I am here!
For the past few years I've been heavily into formula 1, never missing a race (even the 3am ones and even worse, the 7 am ones!) I also enjoy doing photography and have recently started thinking about more landscape/urban photography. I'd like to do more photography but I don't really feel comfortable being alone when I do it so a partner to do some together would be awesome!
I also do enjoy gaming, my main ones are Destiny 2, and rainbow six siege, (for those wondering my highest rank is diamond 3 (when rank actually meant something lol)) and the new zelda but I play heaps more but I can't think of them off the top of my head. I mentioned before about buying my dream car, I love JDM cars and unfortunately haven't been to a car meet in over a year now. My introduction to photography was through cars so if you'd like to see some of my photos do let me know!
As for what I look like I'm 5"11' brown hair that touches my shoulders and never acts normally. I am 75 ish kg and I have brown eyes. That's a basic description of me but if you want a picture that's not an issue.
I'm not really too good at writing these advertisements or making titles or finishing them off so I'll just say if I sound appealing to you or you wanna know more, feel free to shoot me a message! For those in WA I'm down in the Mandurah area but travelling up to Perth isn't an issue for me!
Thanks for reading! Stay safe people!!

2023.06.03 12:31 JoshAsdvgi The Invisible One

The Invisible One

The Invisible One
Micmac
There was once a large Indian village situated on the border of a lake, --Nameskeek' oodun Kuspemku.
At the end of the place was a lodge, in which dwelt a being who was always invisible.
He had a sister who attended to his wants, and it was known that any girl who could see him might marry him.
Therefore there were indeed few who did not make the trial, but it was long ere one succeeded.
And it passed in this wise.
Towards evening, when the Invisible One was supposed to be returning home, his sister would walk with any girls who came down to the shore of the lake.
She indeed could see her brother, since to her he was always visible, and beholding him she would say to her companions, "Do you see my brother?"
And they would mostly answer, "Yes," though some said, "Nay," -- alt telovejich, aa alttelooejik.
And then the sister would say, "Cogoowa' wiskobooksich?" "Of what is his shoulder-strap made?"
But as some tell the take, she would inquire other things, such as, "What is his moose-runner's haul?" or, "With what does he draw his sled?"
And they would reply, "A strip of rawhide," or "A green withe," or something of the kind. And then she, knowing they had not told the truth, would reply quietly, "Very well, let us return to the wigwam!"
As they entered the place she would bid them not to take a certain seat, for it was his.
After they had helped to cook the supper they would wait with great curiosity to see him eat.
Truly he gave proff that he was a real person, for as he took off his moccasins they became visible, and his sister hung them up; but beyond this they beheld nothing not even when they remained all night, as many did.
There dwelt in the village an old man, a widower, with three daughters.
The youngest of these was very small, weak, and often ill, which did not prevent her sisters, especially the eldest, treating her with great cruelty.
The second daughter was kinder , ans sometimes took the part of the poor abused little girl, but the other would burn her hands and face with hot coals; yes, her whole body was scarred with marks made by torture, so that people called her OOchigeaskw (the rough-faced girl).
And when her father, coming home, asked what it meant that the child was so disfigured, her sister would promptly say that it was the fault of the girl herself, for that, having been forbidden to go near the fire, she had disobeyed and fallen in.
Now it came to pass that it entered the heads of the the two elder sisters of this poor girl that they would go and try their fortune at seeing the Invisible One.
So they clad themselves in their finest and strove to look their fairest; and finding his sister at home when with her to the wonted walk down to the water.
Then when He came, being asked if they saw him, they said, "Certainly," and also replied to the question of the shoulder-strap or sled cord, "A piece of rawhide."
In saying which, they lied, like the rest, for they had seen nothing, and got nothing for their pains.
When their father returned home the next evening, he brought with him many of the pretty little shells from which weiopeskool, or wampum, was made, and they were soon engaged napawejik (stringing them).
That day poor little OOchigeaskw', the burnt-faced gir, who had always run barefoot, got a pair of her father's old moccasins, and put them into water that they might become flexible to wear.
And begging her sissters for a few wampum shells, the eldest did but call her "a lying little pest," but the other gave her a few.
And having no clothes beyond a few pawltry rags, the poor creature went forth and got herself from the woods a few sheets of birch bark, of which she made a dress, putting some figures on the bark.
And this dress she shaped like those worn of old.
So she made a petticoat and a loose gown, a cap, leggins, and handkerchief, and, having put on her father's great old moccasins,--whcih came nearly up to her knees,--she went forth to try her luck.
For even this little thing would see the Invisible One in the great wigwam at the end of the village.
Truly her luck had a most auspicious beginning, for there was one long storm of ridicule and hisses, yells and hoots, from her own door to that of which she went ot seek.
Her sisters tried to shame her, and bade her to stay home, but she would not obey; and all the idlers, seeing this strange little creature in her odd array, cried, "Shame!"
But she went on, for she was greatly resolved; it may be that some spirit inspired her.
Now this poor small wretch in her mad attire, with her hair singed off and her little face as full of burns and scars as there are holes in a sieve, was, for all this, mostly kindly received by the sister of the Invisible One; for this noble girl knew more than the mere outside of thins as the world knows them.
And as the brown of the evening sky became black, she took her down to the lake.
And erelong the girls knew that He had come. Then the sister said, "Do you see him?"
And the other replied in awe, "Truly I do, --and He is wonderful." "And what is his sled string?" "It is," she replied, "the Rainbow."
And great fear was on her. "But, my sister," said the other, "what is his bow-string?" "His bow-string is Ketaksoowowcht: (the Spirit's Road, the Milky Way).
"Thou hast seen him, said the sister.
And, taking the girl home, she bathed her, and as she washed all the scars disappeared from face and body.
Her hair grew again; it was very long, and like a blackbird's wing.
Her eyes were like stars.
In all the world was no such beauty.
Then from her treasures she gave her a wedding garment, and adorned her.
Under the comb, as she combed her, her hair grew. It was a great marvel to behold.
Then, having done this, she bade her take the wife's seat in the wigwam,--that by which her brother sat, the seat next the door.
And when He entered, terrible and beautiful, he smiled and said, "Wajoolkoos!" "So we are found out!" "Alajulaa." "Yes," was her reply. So she became his wife.

2023.06.03 12:30 Baron_Deathtrap1217 [FN] Era Vulgaris

A story I wrote a while back. (To put it more accurately, a year ago.) Submitted it for the college Magazine, and recently uploaded it to Wattpad. But it didn't do much. So I decided to just put it on here. Any kind of feedback would be appreciated.
Being the idiot I am, I'm not sure what genre to place it in. But I'd say it's an action - drama in a somewhat fantastical setting.
The Blurb is as follows:
"Undera night sky lit by two moons, a Witch loses her family, and begins to succumb to the dark, violent side of her powers - Bloodlust.
During this desparate struggle, she comes across a Bishop - a soldier of this city, whose sole purpose is to kill her kind.
Who is this Bishop? Will the Witch survive? And who am I, the being who wants to share this story with you??"
And here's the full story. I hope you enjoy.
Oh, what a beautiful night.
The two moons in an elaborate dance, one in the arms of the other as they glow amidst the darkness. Wouldn't it be a heartbreak, for the king to abandon his queen at the brink of dawn, leaving her alone and defenseless?
Of course, my king already had. Even worse, he might've even let the hunters on my tail. Just the thought sent shudders through my spine. My dear melancholy, I thought, you won't be here for long. "I've cried with you far too long. Perhaps I should send you with my lover, let his blood wrap around you while you sleep. Perhaps I should let his cries wash away all that you weep."
I wanted answers. But, a deeper, more primal part of me needed revenge. But if I wanted either, I needed to act fast. I was being hunted. The people of this world, they call us witches. They call us the spawn of the devil, to be hunted and burned alive. I know this isn't true, I remember my parents' faces as clear as day. Damn it, I wish I just had a normal life. I wanted peace, quiet. I wanted a happy life with my husband.
"You are desecrated by the demon himself!"
"Get out of my sight! Begone!"
The memory of Anton's words, curled in utter disgust.... They hurt. Once, long before this, I could almost see the smile on his face, taste the uninhibited love in his gaze, feel the steady warmth of his embrace...... And now... Why? Why, you.......... Why?
The question turned into a haunting melody, trying to tear its way through my skull with a violent cacophony, only to fade into a whisper drumming in sync with my footsteps, as I tracked him down through the shadows. Was he the answer?
Or just prey? A rat to devour?
That thought worried me. No, I-I didn't want to hurt Anton, but.... But he had done the same, was still doing the same. The streets were quiet, the houses all around closed shut. No doubt, there were hunters, the Bishops, tracking me down. But I had become accustomed to sneaking around without leaving a trace.
I wished, sometimes I could be one of those lucky women hiding in those houses, with nothing to fear but the outside. They could just stay in their homes and live the lives they wanted.
But, the increasingly manic voice from within spoke, you had that. For a while. How long did it even last, until he kicked you out and left you for dead?
My footsteps quickened seemingly running towards my prey. Or maybe, away from whispers that were becoming hard to deny. And then, I found him. Right there, in the darkness, all alone.
Ready to speak.
Or to die.
And all of a sudden, I felt my knife slide home. Blood, sweet and magnificent, rose in the air. Every cell in my body rose towards it, parched for a taste.
Just a taste.
I stumbled under the ferocity of the thirst, my will pushed to its limit to keep it under control. His life was fading out.
I had to... I had to look him in the eye. I turned him around, and it wasn't him. It wasn't him.
Oh god, it wasn't him.
It wasn't him it wasn't him it wasn't----------
"Ophelia, what the heck have you become?"
I slowly turned towards the source of the sound, knowing the horror on his face I'd be forced to see. There it was, but somewhere in the miasma of repulsive emotions.... Was it concern? Did my dear Anton still care? Did he still... still love?
Something fell on my thigh, soft, and warm, disappearing seeping through my dirtied clothes the moment it touched. And it was then I realized - it was blood. It was all over me, across my lips, on my hands, seeping into my fingernails. It was overwhelming me, wrenching sense and sanity away. Was it too late? Was I past the point of no retu------
The next moment, I realize I'm.... falling. Further and further, but I can't find the floor. I can't feel my legs, my arms, my mouth. It's as if every part of me except my soul has disintegrated, vanished into thin air. I look around me. There are so many like me. Witches, humans, the faceless, the feral. The victim and the criminal. They are all the same. WE are one and the same. I don't feel my consciousness fading away, but rather.... It bleeds, it swims around like a drop in an ocean, a single grain of pollen among thousand others flying away. It's coming all together now, fusing and joining and mixing with the others, and into the will of one great being. It's like..... Like the God accepting us into His womb, letting us be a part of His plan, and giving us one last gift- vision, His vision, to see the world as it really is............. And the ones we left behind in this world.
The process seems so painful - I can feel emotions that aren't my own, emanating from within me, while my own emotions are scattered over this pool of collective consciousness. It swirls and splashes around, slowly moving towards a source, rather than away. The closer I get, the lesser I remember about myself. I'd be concerned, unhappy even, weren't it not for the fact that along with myself, I could also feel myself forgetting the world I had lived in like an insect, while I dance around in the memories of others. It's all mine, and what's mine is also others'. There isn't an "I" anymore. There's just...... An ocean. An ocean of serenity. A desert, devoid of pain and suffering. An oasis of peace.
Just......Anton. Look after him, my Savior. And my----------------------
-Era Vulgaris-
Ah...... Another dead one coalescing into me. A woman, full of hopes and dreams soaked and squandered away by sorrow and hatred and envy. Don't fret, little one. You can rest now. Be in peace with yourself, and this broken world. Now, where were we? Ah, the woman finally lost it.
Her self-consciousness faded away the very moment that drop of blood dripped onto her tongue. What was left, was a husk of its former self, hungry for blood and power. I hated watching this, though I'd seen this a million times over. Even the part of me that was once that poor girl was undoubtedly horrified at what she'd become. It's okay, it's okay. It'll work out in the end. Trust me. Your loved ones shall come out whole from the other side.
Especially, I thought, if the Bishop beside him is truly who I think he is.
The word "Bishop" brought a bit of warranted concern to the residual piece of the girl, which meant I had to spend some more of my energy and attention to calm her down. So, I thought. Where were we?
The husk of the woman lunged for her former lover, only to be denied her prey by a sudden tackle to the ground. The assailant swiftly rolled out of harm's way, spinning around and aiming a rather large revolver right at her head.
"Freeze. Or the bullet goes in your head."
She didn't respond in kind. Instead, she... It. It, reminded the small voice that was once part of her, now just in pure disbelief at what she was looking at. It looked him dead in the eye, wailed its vocal cords out and slit its own arm, letting the blood spurt open all around her. The dead carcass beside her became her fuel, swimming towards and into heIt, as its own blood slowly morphed into clones of its own. All contorted and manic, just like the original. All at once, they converged right at the hunter, eager to churn out the flesh. One sneaky little figure, however, sneaked right out of sight and right towards its/ her husband.
Yeah, it was her husband alright. All these bright little memories sparkling from within the dark, right up until everything tore apart- Wait. Oh n-
A hailstorm of gunshots shattered the rain of noise that drenched the night. And just like that, almost all the clones were gone, fading into a cloudburst of blood from which they had risen. The husband, Anton, screamed, "The blood- it'll burn!!" But the hunter rushed through regardless, through the blood.
True to his word, the blood began to boil and corrode away all the protective plates and clothing, but the man himself was strangely unaffected. Rather, he became seemingly faster, as he kicked away the witch, the original form out, just a mere fraction of a second before it could rip out Anton's jugular. My heart was in my throat. Or at least, the newly assimilated soul felt that way.
I was more interested to as to how the Bishop appeared to have changed, as if a limiter on himself had been removed by the blood. As if a blind man had finally been given the path towards light.
By the time it could recover, the Bishop held the previous position once again- only this time, aiming at the creature's belly. That, is what I was worried about. The poor woman was pregnant when she lost control. "Now," he said. "Don't move."
The woman's soul suddenly began to wrench its way out towards her body, trying desperately to save its offspring, its child. Its only ray of hope. It took a considerable effort to keep her in control, much more than what I would once require. Well, I thought, all the more reason to let things go as they should.
Anton went to protect the thing that was once his wife, right up until the Bishop changed his aim towards him.
Anton paled, but understood the message. He returned to his previous position, his crosshairs pointed right at the woman's swollen abdomen, and waited for her to react.
She didn't.
She stilled, almost stuck between her primal urge as a creature of blood, and a maternal urge as a creature of warmth.
The hesitation was enough for the hunter to make a decision.
"Rest in peace."
The gun fired.
A single bullet exploded into a hundred smaller shells, penetrating the witch - not at the abdomen, but straight through the head. The man beside him just puked at the gruesome scene, unable to bear not just the brutality, but the heartbreak of it.
The hunter turned towards him. "Put yourself together. Besides, you put her in this situation."
The remark halted Anton from his state of disgust into a fit of near-violent rage.
"What? What the fuck do you know, you lowlife? You're the ones who kill innocent women for just the smallest suspicion of their nature. You fucker! Die in the womb you lived in you-"But, he couldn't hold on to it. Just couldn't.
Anton broke into tears, his guilt, his pain and his loss flowing down his face and falling at the cold ground below him.
It--It wasn't a nice sight to see. He cried, and cried, and cried, sometimes in reminiscence of the small moments that he'd shared with his loved one, sometimes in despair of the things he'd done. He could blame all he could, curse all he could. At the world. At hunters. At God. Even himself, but that would not bring his love back to life. It wouldn't bring his unbor---
A tiny, yet strong innocent wail interrupted his downward spiral.
"Anton. Your child." With that brief phrase, the Bishop laid a fragile infant in his arms. Crying, with hair barely formed, yet Anton could see it- It was her child. Her and his. THEIR child. But......
"IT's- It's a girl. Won't you-"
"Well, I think it would be rude of me not to turn a blind eye your way. I cannot see, after all. Besides, I think this child deserves a chance. For the mother who, in the throes of death, chose her child over revenge. And," he said, patting down the man's shoulder, "the pathetic man who still wanted to save his wife, even if she was no more. Now go. Get the fuck out of here. I gotta pick up the corpse and collect my payment. Oh, and, uh... What happened here, all of it- you don't remember a thing. Got it?"
He didn't need even the slightest of threats. The guy thanked the Bishop and, with the now smiling babe, walked away.
Another figure appeared from behind the hunter.
"Was that a good decision, Navy?"
A Faceless one. Quite devoted to the Bishop. His question held a tone of concern, but a sense of curiosity dominated his voice as he asked his question.
"Grayson," he said, placing his shotgun onto the floor as a walking stick, "I never overthi-"
"Shut up."
A careless shrug. "Alright. You got me. You want me to be honest? I.....see myself, as weird as it sounds. In that child, in that man. Even in the fuckin' witches. I kill them for a living, Gray. I wake up every morning to load a bullet carrying their name."
"You hate them. Simple as that."
"But a really small part of me..... It- I don't know, Gray. Sometimes all I do is say thanks to this stupid world we live in. A world where everyone wants to fall in love but there's no room for it, in the grand scheme of things. You know, it's times like these that make me glad. Better off believing in a dream world of love and peace, rather than knowing this nightmare of an era. An Era Vulgaris, if you will."
Indeed, in this we might just be kindred spirits. Hm... well, there's definitely a potential in him, to become what I need him to be in the future. I just.....
Well, I'll let this run its course.
After all, it depends on whether she can will herself a future worth salvaging. For there was another one spying on the hunter, another witch whose paths would cross with his. And that path would either fall in place like clockwork, or blow up every plan and contingency I'd made into smoke.
Till then, I guess it best to rest. Kick back and watch this Era Vulgaris consume itself in its vanity, and see if something will come out whole the other side. Rest well, Navidson.
And thank you.
Something settled, and that's when I realized the woman's soul had finally accepted its fate, fading into the primordial soup. Broken, scared and all bled out, and yet she put up a hell of a fight.
The human will is quite extraordinary, is it not?

Gorm's Epic (English Version)
Episode 1 The End of the Exodus A great, huge ship, a real Ark of 130 cubits, was sailing on the flat sea of a blue and sunny afternoon.
-…I still wonder why you gave such a name to our ship…-
Krom-Nav said, as he steered the wheel. The two brothers always had something to say about each other: Krom-Nav was the eldest, always dutiful and precise in his duties, while Yughy, the youngest, was the more reckless one, always ready to experiment. The first had long brown hair that stopped at his shoulders, light and large eyes, a smooth beard that started under the hooked nose, surrounded the mouth, and ended by covering the chin with a point. The second had shorter hair, hazel, darker eyes, a veil of beard on the chin, both tall, athletic bodied, Krom leaner and Yughy Sturdier, dressed, like the rest of their people on that great ship, in animal furs decorated with the symbols of their people: Five symbols that indicated the elements, Water, Earth, Plants, Air, Fire, which all revered and respected. The two had very different characters: Yughy was impulsive, skilled at manual labor, a hothead who often acted on feeling rather than reason. Krom, on the other hand, was more methodical, more thoughtful, didn't talk much unless necessary, loved to read, and always kept a watchful eye on his people and crew.
  • Come on brother! It's been years since we set sail! You should have figured it out! He means “Earth”!- -And I repeat that "Terra", for a ship that sails on water, seems to me a name that is not at all suitable, Yughy…- -AH! BUT YOU DON'T REALLY UNDERSTAND ANYTHING! It's called "Earth" as a good omen! That is to FIND the EARTH, after this very long journey at sea! It's a metaphor, a synonym of Hope!- -Maybe…for me the name Gheos, it still seems strange to me…- -You'll see that you'll get used to it sooner or later…- -Okay! You get used to taking the helm!-
Krom said, walking away, while Yughy looked at him in amazement.
-HEY BUT YOU DUMPING ME LIKE THIS?- -EXACTLY!-
And laughing, he made his way to the large stern. Their relationship had always been like this, since they were children. Bound by a brotherly love that occasionally cracked, but never broke. Even in the darkest moment, in fact, they were together.
10 years earlier, on a very distant coast, on a misty island, stood the village of Missa, a village known for its constant mist. The Missians were a peaceful people, dedicated to agriculture, livestock and fishing, and worshiped the elements of Nature: The Earth, on which they could build their houses, The Plants, which gave them shelter and nourishment, The Air , which moved their mills and relieved them from the heat, Water, which gave them its fish and quenched their thirst, and Fire, which protected and warmed them in the dark nights. Some of them were called Old Sages: They were those who mediated between the Elements of Nature and the material world, holders of ancient powers with which they were born and which they then handed down to their successors. They could blend in and disappear in the eyes of others, use their magic to perform miracles, could increase their strength and speed dramatically, and could read minds and move objects with their thoughts. The title of "Old Sage" referred to the first Village Chief, an old man who helped his people to settle in that place, facing dangers and vicissitudes using his magic to create bridges, drive away beasts and make the land fertile. Since then, individuals with similar powers, even young ones, have received this nomea, a noble title for those who would have been the guides, defenders, or scholars of ancient primordial arts.
There Krom-Nav and Yughy were born. Since they were children they showed innate abilities: Krom spoke with plants and animals, perfectly understanding their moods and intentions without his mouth producing sound, and he was able to exploit the air currents to run faster or make the windmills move, while Yughy was able to manipulate the fire, deflect water in the fields with only the laying on of hands and carried heavy rocks making them float with the power of his mind. Both were in total control of the elements of Nature, and were the most talented of those with their powers. The other villagers respected them, and somewhat feared their power. Krom tried to use his powers to improve life in the village, and was always thinking of his fellow citizens, but Yughi was a much more restless spirit: He composed works of art, sculpting the surrounding hills, but often caused disasters such as landslides and mountain slides, when they pissed him off, he controlled torches to set the pants of troublemakers on fire, and played with water, causing it to float in the air, but when he got distracted, the water fell back, often ruining previously irrigated fields. All pranks that Krom-Nav then had to solve, and the bickering between the two brothers was all too frequent. After a few years, the two grew up, and Krom-Nav was elected full-fledged Sage and head of the village of Missa, while Yughy, also elected Sage, became his trusted second. But not even the time to celebrate, that the tragedy struck the village. A neighboring village, made up of a tribe of hunters and vandals, wanted to take possession of the powers of the Sages of Missa. Thus a war broke out which nearly wiped out the Missians, as the enemies burned houses and destroyed crops. In a last desperate attempt, Krom-Nav defended the survivors of his people, together with other Old Sages and the best Missian warriors, while Yughy shaped with his Psychic power, the metal extracted from the earth, and the wood of the last unburnt forests, a large and stately ship where all the Missians boarded. The few left to defend them sacrificed themselves with honor as Krom-Nav mounted Gheos, and set sail, concentrating his powers and controlling the wind to swell the ship's sails. That terrible night, fortunately, most of the Missians survived, including Yughy, Krom-Nav, and his still infant son, little Lehander.
Lehander was now 10 years old, born with one yellow and one black eye, his hair shimmered in the light and turned dull in the shade, he was an enterprising and playful child, also endowed with powers, like his father. While his uncle steered, and Krom, his father, made sure all was well on the ship, Lehander slept peacefully in the hold, where everyone's dormitories resided. As the ship cradled him in the waves, his dreams came alive with strange visions: Before him loomed an ominous mountain, tall, with spiers that seemed to form a thorny crown of pointed rocks, and the front wall carved as if it were an evil visage. From the "mouth" of the mountain, incandescent lava and magma came out, a real river of death, and from it arose monstrous creatures with red and yellow skin. Then the dream became absurd, moved, strange, many different images of strange creatures fighting against fire demons, until everything suddenly stopped. Lehander saw the Volcano, again, but this time from above, and with it a whole island, huge, with blue seas, green forests, steep mountain ranges and all sorts of natural wonders. Then in front of him, a ball of light. When he tried to touch her, he woke up. It was now full night and beside him was his father.
-DAD…DAD WAKE UP!- Krom-Nav opened his eyes lazily, seeing his son shaken.
-Hey…did you have that nightmare again?- -Yes! But this time it was longer! There was the Volcano, the demons, and then other creatures appeared, and they all lived on this huge and beautiful island in the middle of the sea!-
Krom, listened curious, but disturbed. His son not only had both his and his brother's abilities, but he had developed unusual powers: He often saw how the child, in totally random moments, was able to move his own and the shadows of objects hit by the sun, as if they were solid, and he was able to mold them into any shape. In the same way he was able to "take" the rays of the sun or the moon that shone through the cracks in the wood of the ship to illuminate a totally dark place. He also had the unnerving ability to make small predictions: Krom could not get out of his mind how, one day, Lehander said "I'm going to look for a blanket.", and in that instant the climate, which until then had been scorching, suddenly became cloudy and cold, so much so that he had to interrupt the navigation for two days. So those dreams she told him were hard to ignore. They sounded absurd, but what if they were harbingers of something horrific? He couldn't take this lightly, he had learned over the years that chance was nothing more than a way for the mind to justify natural phenomena and destiny. Krom spoke about this a few nights later with his brother Yughy, after Lehander had a similar vision again, but he kept telling him not to worry, while they were at the bow looking at the sea, that probably the child's immature powers made harmless pranks.
-Krom, you get too worked up…do you remember, when we were kids, I had that dream about a red-hot rock that would hit me on the head?- -Yes, I remember…you were so agitated that when you finally sat down under a tree and a pine cone hit you, you passed out for hours from terror.- -You never remember nice things…anyway if you notice I was a child, and while you already had conversations with blackbirds and lizards, I still had to figure out how to avoid setting fire to the grove behind the house…- -So you want to tell me that Lehander is only very young?- -And also that his powers sometimes go to his head! Then he's always been a kid with a wild imagination, you shouldn't take it too seriously!-
The two continued to converse about it, while the night sky was lit only by moonlight. Krom-Nav continued to be worried about his son's visions, while Yughy continued to reassure him. Krom, however, couldn't get over it, since that wasn't the only thing troubling him.
-Sometimes, when he thinks he's alone, I hear him talking as if he were with someone else...often it almost seems like he's "arguing" with himself.- -Maybe just play, don't you think?- -I know my son, and I distinguish well when he plays and when something is wrong. He's had weird attitudes ever since he started walking on this ship. He has powers unlike ours or any other Sage who have come before us, plus it seems as if he is never fully awake…I think this journey has become too long…our people need a place to call home…and this vessel can no longer be. Far too many people were born and died here, and I think that the continuous wandering in the sea for years is doing as much harm to our body as to our psyche.- -I know brother...I know...-
Yughy said, as he placed a hand on her shoulder.
-…But I'm sure we're almost there. I read the stars yesterday, they seemed to be in the right position, and a few days ago I saw some seagulls in the sky! We are certainly close to the earth!- -You say? What if it was just an islet? A tiny strip of land?- -It will mean that we will replenish the supplies, we could take Lehi and the other children for a walk, and then we will leave again! Where there is a strip of land Often there are others not far away, who knows, maybe after that we won't find a bigger island, or an entire continent!- -…Let's hope so…- -Hey, Hey! Don't make that face. Come on, if I can get that frown out of you, as soon as we stop I'll have Lehander go on a little adventure! As soon as he helps me gather wood, he'll forget about his bad dreams! What are you saying, big brother?- -…Thanks Yughy.-
They continued to converse for a while, Krom-Nav felt more and more reassured by the words of his brother, who had always helped him raise his son: While escaping from Missa, little Lehander's mother, Astreg, was killed by an arrow shot straight to the heart. Krom-Nav had not had time to bury her for years, and kept her remains, mummified so as not to lose them, in a remote room of the ship, waiting for a suitable place for her burial. Since then Krom raised his son alone, with the help of Yughy, who often entertained the child, making him do small jobs on the ship, teaching him some magical techniques, and playing the funny uncle. The two spent a lot of time together, often not even Krom knew where Lehander was, only to later find him with his uncle.
As the two brothers continued to talk, a yell from the watchtower made them whirl around.
-FOG BANK COMING SOON!-
The two brothers ran to the helm, which was being steered by one of their best men, Hagar.
-What happen?- -We are entering a bank of fog, Krom. Looks pretty thick,- -Fog? But how?-
The ship then plunged into fog. All the Missians exited their cabins and made their way to the deck. Lehander reached his father and hugged him tightly, while Krom kept his arm around him. The fog was thick, white, so much so that everyone could feel the steam touching them like a caress, and the salty smell of the sea almost seemed like a sweet aroma. This penetrating fog reminded everyone of the fog of Missa, and caused a sense of nostalgia, serenity, peace in the souls of each of them. Either because of Hagar's caution, or because of the pearly and compact vapor, the mist looked like an infinite Cloud in which the ship was almost swimming. Abruptly, Hagar stopped. Something in the sea was moving. A rumbling was rising from the depths of the sea, and it seemed to get closer and closer. Everyone felt it, and terrified they stood silent, hugging their loved ones. Krom, he looked around, perceived a great, immense force around them. Yughy instead heard only an indecipherable muttering. Then, suddenly, a gasp. The ship began to rock violently, everyone held on to something, the two brothers barely resisted standing. The ship rocked for minutes, until something popped up from the sea: An enormous head, twice the size of the ship, emerged from the water. A gargantuan creature with a reptilian head, mottled and scaly skin, tinged with a brilliant abyssal blue, opened its mouth, emitting a high-pitched dissonant song and displaying thousands of sharp teeth, arranged in a comb, as large as the trees of the ship. His mouth shut, his oil-black eye opened, and he just stood there staring at the ship. Krom-Nav approached the rail, where the eye of the creature scrutinized the ship, while Yughy and Lehander watched the scene amazed together with the rest of the people.
-KROM! COME BACK HERE!- -Keep calm…- -KROM! FOR THE SAKE OF THE ELEMENTS, IT'S NOT A DOLPHIN!- -I said stay calm, Yughy…I feel it…it's powerful…but it's not hostile…- -…HOW SHOULD YOU SAY THAT YOU FEEL IT?-
Krom got as close as possible. He saw the giant pupil turn towards him, narrow and then widen. He feared neither the ship nor Krom. And he didn't seem to want to attack her. Lehander also approached, as if attracted by that magnificent creature. Krom held his son close, and in the process, tried to use his powers to communicate with us. The only thing he heard were strange words in an incomprehensible language.
-Dad...maybe I can understand you...-
Krom wondered for a moment, how could his son already know a language that he didn't know either? But he could not let fear dominate him.
-...Lehe...be careful...and tell us what the beast wants.-
Lehander approached, under the astonished eyes of all. The mighty animal began to make strange noises, but it seemed that somehow, its roaring gurgle and its high-pitched song, resembled words, sentences, a finished speech he was having with the child. Abruptly, he changed, and Lehander turned to face his people.
-…He said his name was Murena. It lives a little further on, in its great lair at the bottom of the sea, near a southward current, and a ditch beyond it. She says that she is one of the guardians of this sea, and that she has a friend with many tentacles, with whom she sometimes fights over the place where she likes to eat. Near her lair is also a large Island. If we ask them please we can live there! There's plenty of room, lots of wood, enough food and water for everyone! We just have to not fish too much and not catch too much. She says she has many other friends on earth, and she doesn't want some of them to get angry.-
The great Moray eel slowly closed and reopened her eye towards the boat, as if it were a sign of assent. Yughy approached his brother.
-…it almost seems that…- -Yes…he understood that Lehander is a “puppy”…and made him understand it easily…- -So, there really is an island…and it's big enough for all the people.- -He also said that there are Beasts like her, if not bigger, that could kill us.- -KROM! HE SAID WE SHOULD NOT DISTURB THEM AS WE ALWAYS HAVE DONE WHEN WORSHIP THE ELEMENTS! YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND! WE ARE ONE STEP AWAY FROM OUR NEW HOME! IF IT'S AS BIG AS IT SAYS WE WOULD NEVER HUNGER! WE WOULD RESIST FOR GENERATIONS AND GENERATIONS! FOR THE FIRST TIME YOUR CHILD WILL TOUCH THE WARM GROUND AND NOT THE COLD WOOD OF THIS SHIP! YOU CAN BURY ASTREG INSTEAD OF ROTTING IT IN THE SEA! IF THIS THING WOULD HAVE WANTED TO EAT YOU IT WOULD ALREADY HAVE DONE IT! LOOK HOW BIG HIS MOUTH IS! THINK WHAT'S UNDER THE SEA! IT'S OUR CHANCE, BROTHER! OUR INVITATION TO A PEACEFUL LIFE FOR US, FOR YOUR PEOPLE! FOR YOUR CHILD!-
Krom was torn: On the one hand there was the risk of a trap by that monster, on the other, his people were tired of travelling, tired of seeing only the sea and having to make do to survive. Krom approached his son.
-Ask her…to show us the way.- -YES!-
Lehander with the most innocent smile he could muster looked at his father and uncle, and turned to the Moray Eel. It remained motionless for an interminable minute, then, its head moved forward, towards the direction of the Gheos ship, its long bluish body began to show itself as it swam towards that direction. It seemed endless, but out of the queue, Krom-Nav realized that his brother was right in his greatness. It was ten times the length of the ship, its serpentine body like a moving mountain range, and the long translucent blue fin that ran along its entire body made it even more imposing to the shocked Missians. The Moray Eel swam ahead of the ship, and began to swim straight ahead to show the way out of the mist. Krom, immediately set to work.
-HAGAR! FULL SPEED! SAILS EXPLAINED! WE NEED TO STAY BEHIND IT! YUGHY! REACH THE LOOKOUT AND CLIMB THE MAIN MAST! ALL ELSE BELOW DECKS!-
And so they did, everyone took their places, the civilians returned, and Krom stood straight in the bow, followed by his son who watched in ecstasy as the gigantic creature guided them towards the unknown. Mist beat against their faces as the ship went at full speed driven by the wind. The creature accelerated more and more as the clouds cleared, they were coming, the salty smell was slowly disappearing. Then, from the top of the watchtower, Yughy screamed together with the other sailor.
-GHEOOOOOOOS! GHEOOOOOOOS! EEEEEARTH!-
Krom still couldn't see it, then the sunlight blinded him, Lehander, and Hagar. As their eyes adjusted, they saw her: A gigantic island loomed before them, a huge layer of land surrounded by cliffs and a sea so blue it looked like fresh water, so clear that you could see all kinds of sea creatures swimming beside the ship, known and unknown. Two huge mountains welcomed them, towering over endless expanses of lush jungles and forests, and surrounded by towering mountain ranges that crowned the entire island. It was their promised land. Their new home
Yughy, he got off, very excited and joined his brother and nephew.
-…Look…WHAT SPLENDOR...- -…Yes…finally…we are home…- -We absolutely have to find a name for her…- -I already have a name for her…- -And what will it be called?- -…it will be our Life from now on…- -Life…you mean..?- -Exactly…GORM…-

2023.06.03 12:20 2seokdeeznuts13 Two Kakampinks walked into a café

Two Kakampinks walked into a café.
This was after they lost the elections, and they've recovered na from the hard-hitting reality. Mga one year later na 'to.
They were in 12th grade senior high when they chanted along with the pink crusade, now they're both in their first year of college. The first is taking up a course on secondary education, major in English; the second, business administration. Well, dahil unti-unti na silang nagiging busy sa kanya-kanya nilang buhay, minsan na lang sila magkita. That's why these two friends, when they found the time, arranged this date.
The café was a typical modern café. It was one of those minimalist-styled establishments na may maliit na blackboard sa labas with cute chalk doodles to highlight its business hours. The interiors were adorned with overhanging indoor plants. The wooden tables varnished to golden-brown shine. The walls were an of an aesthetic black, designed with white huge calligraphy of optimistic cliches nabbed online. The entire place had a yellow lighting, setting up the ambience, making the entire place worthy to be posted on Instagram.
Waiting naman the tables, is an apron-clad guy with a deep dimple and a bulging Adam's apple, who was handsome enough to be romanticized.
But the two Kakampinks didn't care for him, as they are in love to each of their boyfriend. That's characteristic of women. When they're in love with a guy, the other guys get ignored, no matter how handsome they are.
Anyway, there they were. Sitting side-by-side. In an intimate table for two, catching up with each other's lives, that is, chatting about that funny professor they've had, that campus event in their respective university, that latest episode of that Netflix show they watch, that one fond memory they keep recalling. There was noise, there was glee, there was laughter, there was whispering, and of course, as this was in a café nga, there was eating. Particularly the eating of a creamy carbonara; and of a mushroom soup; and of a red velvet cake; and of a frappe; and of other dishes and beverages and desserts that one has to take a picture of before eating it.
Well, the hours passed and the skies got darker. Without alcohol, they began to get drunk—drunk from the intimacy that only friendship can give. From the honesty that this drunkenness has granted them, things then began to get political, as one said to the other:
"I don't know if you feel it too pero I cringe about being a Kakampink."
This remark came from a train of thought that began with their discussion of the leftist initiatives they've heard in each of their campuses. To this, a reply:
"Oh my god, ikaw din?" with gleaming eyes, the other said. "I feel that too. Takot lang akong i-verbalize sa circle ko as that may be an unpopular opinion today. Ang binary na kasi ng lahat. Any anti-pink rhetoric can suddenly turn you into a pro-red apologist."
"Then, this is a good thing na we share the same sentiments. And I'm glad na it's with you, whom I can finally speak of this." she said, "you know, I keep seeing sa fb feed ko yung fb memories of the pink rallies. My friends keep resharing them ta's sasabihing the best era daw. Well, whenever I see shares like that, I feel this funny feeling of cringe. Primarily from my intellect."
"Same. Probably kasi, we used to belong in there?" she replied, "we used to be one of them, in that pink crusade."
"Probably."
"Pero, I guess, that's okay. A wise man once told me na cringing at your past self is one of the surest sign that you've progressed to maturity."
"I like that. Education through disillusionment." she said with an honest smile. And then, she asked: "well, what led you to your disillusionment?"
"I am not so sure." she said, "wala namang maling ginawa si Leni for me to stop supporting her—pero, i guess the disillusionment came from the closest Kakampink I know, namely my self."
"Yeah, what about your self?"
"I had this episode lang of being moved by the poverty of our people, while I was dining in an eat-all-you-can buffet," she said almost laughing at her self with cynicism, "The restaurant had glass walls, so kita mo yung labas, from the inside. Well, while I was eating nga, may madungis na batang pulubi na dumaan, holding his hand out to me, mouthing something at me. I know na nanghihingi siya ng limos. Pero, I just consciously ignored him, shoving a spoonful of rice na sinabawan ng kare-kare, straight in my mouth. After that epispde, I kept contemplating on the glass walls. Is that not what we're doing? Just the rich and the privileged looking through the glass wall that separates us from the hungry, while we eat and dine and have our fill?"
"You think we're one of the rich and the privileged?"
"Are we not? We think na mga pasistang pulitiko lang yung rich and privileged, yung may subdivision 'gaya ng mga Villar o yung may private jet 'gaya ng mga Marcos," she said, "pero, think about it: don't we belong there, too? As we enjoy all our iPhones Pro's? Our Aquaflask tumblers? Our eat-all-you-can buffets? Our boba teas?"
"Yes, I think we are," the other replied, "If that's how you would put it, we basically are."
"Well, yun," she explained, "I guess, that's the part that doesn't make sense to me. How can I claim to fight for the poor, join them in their plights, while at the same time, enjoy my self in such lavish comfort? I think that would be hypocrisy."
"I'm really glad we're having this conversation," she replied fondly. "cause what you said—it's so aligned with an idea that I've been thinking about since the pink era was over." she sipped from her milk tea, and then continued, "we both joined the rally 'di ba? And we both saw the people there. And we both saw na most of them had an iPhone. I was just thinking, in retrospect, na maybe, we're part of the oppression too?"
"What do you mean?"
"Where does the iPhone user get his prestige?"
"Well, as a user of one, I don't find my iPhone prestigious kasi I'm not that petty." she said, with a laughing pompousity. "pero i could honestly answer that, in behalf of those petty materialists. The prestige of the iPhone comes from the fact na mahal yun and not everyone could afford one."
"Exactly. And yung mga 'di maka-afford ng iPhone, will have to settle with an Android phone." the other remarked, "so the prestige of the iPhone users, is based on the poverty of the Android users. Now, you can apply that to any material object advertised as a social emblem of luxury. Gucci, Jordan shoes, Starbucks, even the Aquaflask tumbler. The prestige of having one, enjoying one, consuming one, is based on its expensiveness, on how Capitalism privileged it on a pedestal, and on the idea na not everyone could afford it."
"So the glory of the havings is based on the lacking of the having-not's"
"Wow, you've put that aptly in a nutshell." the other remarked excitedly, "and yes! That's about right. The reason why our ideas of luxury, prestige, and privilege exist is because of their lacking, their not having, and their poverty. We are rich because they are poor. That's why I posited na we may be part of their oppression, too."
"That indeed makes sense." the other replied, "that's probably why ide-Day ko ang Starbucks ko, kasi alam kong may maiinggit."
"Right." the other said, with a laughter, "You're getting the idea. Pero you're adding your own mean twist. But that's my point: we exist in a social pyramid of lower class, middle class, upper class, where each class is really stepping on the back of the one immediately lower to them to maintain the height they enjoy. Yung lower class yung pinaka-kawawa as two classes are above them. And in this case we're discussing, their oppression is through our idea of luxurious materialism and the prestige we attach to commodified objects."
"Kaya it won't make sense for us to say 'eat the rich' kasi that would mean we have to eat ourselves."
"Exactly." she said, "the pro-red apologist proud of his iPhone, is the same with the pro-pink proud of her iPhone. They're both from the same greed and gluttony, blinded by the same object fetishism espoused by Capitalism. That's why the Kakampink revolution is not really the revolution. It's a revolt against the dominant group of iPhone users, by just another group of iPhone users. A bourgeoisie revolution. And that does not change things, for as long as the same object fetishism exists, as long as the same ideals for luxury exists, as long as Capitalism's definition of what a self is exists—the true proletarian revolution will not happen. We simply replaced the rich with a new set of rich."
"Well, what should be done, then?"
"This may be corny, pero I'll say it anyway," she said, shyly, "what must be done is to follow what Christ said to the rich man: sell your possessions and give them to the poor."
"Yes," she remarked, in-between a laughter, "that is indeed corny."
"Yes," she agreed, and then explained: "pero i think it's the closest thing we have to achieve a truly equal, egalitarian paradise as this Christian advice encourages the complete abolition of self and private property by a complete and genuine charity to the entire community."
With a concerned look, the other then remarked, "And by that you mean, surrendering our iPhones, our Aquaflask tumblers, our eat-all-you-can buffets, our boba teas, our ideals of luxury, of vanity, of prestige— our spectacular self-images, right?"
"Yes."
"Well, that's too ideal." she said, scoffingly, "can you do that?"
"No, I can't," she admitted, with a secret despair, "maski ako, I can't give up those. I can't live without my iPhone, you know? Pero I guess, the important thing here is we have to be honest about that. Self-awareness is as important as social awareness. We have to see na not only are we inside Capitalism, but that Capitalism is also inside us. We are molded by the same greed, the same gluttony that shaped the fat, privileged capitalist we condemn." Then she adds: "kaya siguro i cringe at my past. i envisioned my naive activist-self as a holy hero in the pink crusade—that I was someone noble, fighting a just war. Pero, I can now see much clearer. I'm really just a noisy child with a silver spoon in her mouth, who knows nothing about poverty, and who happens to have read a thread on Twitter. A poser who could courageously scream 'eat the rich' but could not muster enough courage to 'feed the poor.' "
Emphatizing with the melancholia she just voiced out, the other replied, "That reminds me of a lyrics from a song: everybody wants to change the world, but nobody wants to die."
"Yeah, that's about it. That's so true," she said, realizing something. And then, she laughs it off, "grabe. we're on a different level of wokeness here."
"Kaya nga eh. Nagutom tuloy ako." the other assented, a change of mood then took place, "I'm craving for some Samgyup. May alam ka ba na nasa malapit lang?"
"Ay, meron. Walking distance lang from here," the other answered, "madalas kaming mag-date ng boyfriend ko do'n—tara, kain tayo."
They began to pack their things up, grabbing their shoulder bags, clutching their purses. As they walk out of the café, the bell chimes over the doorway signalled their departure. At this, the waiter then makes his move; he cleans up the mess they leave behind.
The two Kakampinks walking out of the café, will now head to that Samgyup resto, to eat and have their fill.

2023.06.03 12:15 matsumurae My hair has always been 1a but looks like now it's going to 1b?

My hair has always been 1a but looks like now it's going to 1b?
I don't know if I should treat it as wavy or keep on straight line. I don't use any straighteners or any product tagged for "straight hair". It's pretty fine, smooth, I would say it's low-med po depending on if you're looking at the roots or the ends. I don't do anything special: no heat, no dying or colors.
If I look at my child pics (and as far as I remember) I've never had any wave. I should say my mom had this hair too: straight on top + some waves if she left it grow. But I've never seen them too much because she always cut her hair till shoulder length. I love long hair, she never NEVER let me had long hair on summer (I still don't get why) and every year she forced me to cut it till shoulder. When I was a teenager, I started letting my hair just be as wanted. I love long hair, sorry. As a note, my dad had kind of curly hair. Do you know Borat movie? He's was like that, really haha
This is my actual routine (2-3 times a week, depending on if I sweat a lot or not):
  1. Conditioner on mid/ends: I alternate between Hair food aloe and Pantene miracles lift n' vol.
  2. Shampoo twice (second time with a scalp massager): Sante orange and coco.
  3. Leave in after shower in my mid/ends: Garnier aloe gel. I'm also using salerm 21 silk but I'm unsure if my hair loves protein or not. Seems to love hydration…
  4. Oil on ends: I'm using squalane because my hair weights down with everything. This is the one that I've found I can use.
I don't use any silicones, oils because it weights down my fine hair. Also, my scalp seems on the oily-normal, exfoliating with scalp massager helps to keep it clean 4-5 days.
The wavy is more prominent because I slept with braids, but it was some waves on the end (not on the roots)

2023.06.03 12:12 spanakopita555 Help! My girlfriend has HPV

So your girlfriend went for a routine doctor's appointment and then you found out it was something called a smear test and they tested for HPV. Wtf - your girlfriend has an STD?!!!
You should read the sticky post here to educate yourself fully, but to present a more concise primer, here are a few things in particular that you should know:
(NB: for ease, have written men and women but please assume people with penises and people with cervixes if you are trans, nb or other. I've also based this mainly on positive smear results rather than warts, because this is a more common incident that we see on this board) .
Having HPV is extremely normal:
- 80% of people will get genital HPV by the age of 45, and after a few sexual partners, your chance is close to 100%.
- Most infections happen within the first few years of sex life, so prevalence in late teens to early 20s is very high - almost half of women of this age will have an active high risk infection right now. For all types of HPV it may be as high as 70% for college-aged women. Note that the figures are probably similar for men.
Most people don't know they have it:
- Most HPV infections are symptomless,
- In most places, cervical smears are only done after a certain age and may only be tested for HPV after a certain age, too (e.g. 25+). This is because it's simply assumed that younger people will have HPV and it will probably go away with no problems. Cervical smears with HPV tests are designed to find those persistent cases that don't clear up, and can therefore pose a potential danger.
HPV can hang around for a while and recur later in life:
- Most infections clear up within a couple of years, but some last longer.
- A small % can come back even after immune suppression
- Therefore, even if you've been in a monogamous relationship for some time, it's still not weird for HPV to come up
Do I have HPV too?
If you've been having regular sex (genital or oral contact), even with condoms (which only mitigate but don't prevent HPV transmission), there's a good chance you share the infection. Maybe it came from her, maybe it came from you. Where it came from is both impossible to know and not very important.
(I've not seen data on dental dams but we know that female/female couples often share infections, too).
You should probably assume that you either have her strain now, or may have already immune suppressed it.
How can I have an STD? I've never had one before
STD panels only test for a small number of possible infections, and even if you have been practising 'safe' sex, it's still very possible and indeed probable to have something (look up the prevalence of HSV, for example). With HPV in the mix, there is a very high chance that you have had, have or will have 'an STD' in future.
In the modern world, because of the aftermath of the AIDs crisis, and our increased scientific knowledge, mixed with toxic purity culture, there is so much stigma around STDs. But HPV is something that's pretty much impossible to avoid - even virgins have a small chance of getting it, and with one lifetime partner the chance is somewhere between 20 and 70%.
If you are stigmatising your gf and/or yourself, just stop. HPV is not something you can ever fully prevent, unless you were to live life in a polythene bubble. No sex is truly safe, but we take the risk because, when consensual, it's a good, fun, natural part of a healthy adult life.
P.S. don't use the word 'clean' - nobody is 'dirty' for living their life, and that includes you!
Should I get tested?
If you have a cervix, you don't need to rush to get a test outside of your regular smear schedule. In fact, they may not allow you to do this. This is because smear tests are a cancer-screening tool, not an STD test. As there's nothing one can do about an HPV infection and most just go away, it's not considered clinically relevant to constantly test for it. Cervical smears are done on a schedule because they want to find those infections that stick around, so the person can be monitored and potentially treated if it becomes necessary.
If you have a penis, in most places, testing is not commonly done. This is because it's both unreliable in commonly used methods, and clinically not very useful.
Will I get warts?
If your girlfriend has been tested via a smear, it's likely that her infection is high risk. This is because most smear tests don't bother looking for the non-oncogenic strains. If you're not sure, she should clarify with her doctor. Most warts are caused by low-risk strains. While high-risk strains can cause warts, this is not hugely common so you should not expect to develop them (although it's perfectly possible to have more than one kind at a time, and in different parts of the genitals).
Can we still have sex?
Yes, regular partners can keep having sex, because you will share the infection already. You may wish to use condoms, which are shown to lower the viral load shared between you and therefore make it easier for the body to deal with the infection.
Can we still have oral sex?
If you're both unvaccinated, there is a risk that you share HPV16. This is the riskiest strain for oral cancer, so you might want to use protection or abstain from oral in that instance to lower the viral load in the mouth. However, if you weigh up the risk and feel that it is low enough to feel comfortable proceeding (e.g. she is vaccinated, or you know she has a strain other than 16) then sure, go ahead.
Should I get vaccinated?
Imo, yes. Gardasil 9 protects you against 9 of the most prevalent and riskiest strains, including 7 cancer-causing types and the 2 that cause 90% of genital warts. Although it's not proven to help a current infection, there's some limited evidence to suggest it *may* help regress more advanced abnormalities and support male bodies to produce antibodies against the included strains. Additionally, it gives you future protection against the included types (and you're unlikely to have had all 9).
Men can get vaccinated, too, and it's licensed up to age 45. You should search for ways to get it in your location - it may be free in some cases (e.g. in the UK, if you have sex with men, or in countries with health insurance if covered by your provider), or you may need to pay.
Am I going to get cancer?
Although high risk strains of HPV can cause cancer, that doesn't mean they will. Relative to the numbers of cases, cancer is not a likely outcome.
Cervical cancer remains the greatest risk of persistent HPV (those infections that hang around for a long time) but keeping up with screening means that anything dangerous is likely to be caught in time and can be treated.
Oral cancer rates are rising and it's the greatest risk for men. That said, only 1% of oral HPV infections become cancerous. At the moment, there's no screening programme, because it's not a useful way to identify those infections that could persist and become dangerous.
The best thing to do at the moment is to go to the dentist regularly and ask them to check you out.
Penile, anal, vulval and vaginal cancers are not very common. You may be able to get an anal smear test, but it's not available everywhere. Otherwise, you should try not to obsessively think about this - many, many things in life give us a risk of cancer and we tend not to worry about them. Just keep a gentle eye on your health and do all the things you already know you should be doing to live a happy and healthy life.
Do I need to go on a crazy health programme?
No. There is some evidence that stopping smoking can help prevent HPV cancers, but you already know that smoking kills so why are you still doing it?! There's currently no data out there on weed or vaping, so you can make your own call on those ones.
Exercise, sleep, eating vegetables - all good things for your health and life. But most people's bodies just deal with HPV naturally anyway, and there's no proven routine or single thing you can do to absolutely guarantee anything.
If it makes you feel better to do something, and you feel like making a change in your life, however, maybe this is your wakeup call.
What about my future in dating?
As above: most HPV infections go within a few months to a couple of years, and almost everyone will have a past or current infection. If you are seeking new partners imminently (i.e. in the next few months), you may want to discuss it with them (e.g. check if they're vaccinated), but beyond this, unless you have a cervix and get a positive test result at your next smear, there's no obligation - it's really up to you (there is a lot of nuance here and different people will have different strong feelings on the matter).
What can I do to support my girlfriend?
Thanks for asking the most important question.
Your girlfriend might be worried, confused or upset. Many doctors are pretty rubbish at dealing with HPV-related stuff. Share any information you learn and make sure you approach HPV together in a non-judgemental way.
Ask if she wants you to accompany her to appointments, and afterwards, make her a nice hot drink, get her a blanket, bring her cookies, kiss the top of her head, you know - all the lovely partner things you can do to make her feel safe and loved.
Some people might feel weird about sex after diagnosis so please be understanding and keep communicating how you both feel. Acting entitled and pissy because someone won't do xyz thing with you is jerk behaviour and if that's your attitude, fuck right off.
Sex is not the only part of a relationship and if you need to pause on some things for a short while, nobody is going to die. Sex toys and masturbation are absolutely a thing.
If you are privileged enough to have a partner and a healthy, happy relationship, that is more important than an infection that almost everyone will get in their lifetime. Lots of us with HPV don't have this luxury, so don't be a fool about this - thanks.

2023.06.03 12:03 wichiepu_too Apartment Floor Vibrations, Shocks, Low Frequency Noise Harassment

I am a top floor apartment tenant currently going through hell. Downstairs neighbors are using a ceiling thumper in addition to some device which causes electrical shock-like sensations AND floor vibrations, as well as low frequency noise harassment. Found a temporary fix for the low frequency noise harassment (playing constant brown noise in the background), but whatever device is causing the vibrations and shocks is insidious because it's silent. No matter what surface you're sitting/sleeping on in your home, the vibrations travel up and into your body. It is painful and literally makes my skin crawl.
Confirmed: checked medically and symptoms are not due to neurological/mental conditions, etc.
Seems it's a comparatively new phenomenon evil neighbors have begun using neighbor vs. neighbor, since not much info is available about it online - YET (evil neighbors who for whatever reason target others to retaliate for whatever sick reasons they’ve concocted in their heads, and then terrorizing others so intensely to the point that there’s no option other than to move out). People who stoop to this level of bullying others are truly sick. Would not want to be them when karma comes around to pay them a visit.
*Update: after more research, it seems that the floor vibrations and shock sensations could be caused by DEWs or direct energy weapons. Floor vibrations, which feel like when you place your feet on the floor, are akin to stepping on a live wire, like an electric current is running through the entire floor throughout the apartment, not just in certain rooms/spots. More physical symptoms include muscle and bone aches, coughing fits, itchiness, stomach pain and nausea, balance problems, general pain and lethargy, brain fog, heart palpitations, and muscle and limb twitching. But the worst symptom of all is sleep deprivation NIGHT AFTER NIGHT. As previously mentioned, the downstairs neighbor ALSO uses a ceiling thumper strategically placed under my sleeping areas.
To be clear, I only experience the thumps, vibrations, shocks, and low vibration noise pollution etc. and symptoms when I am at home! Plus it’s only me living in my apartment. I’ve lived in apartments for 20+ years now and have NEVER experienced anything like this before. I try to always be a quiet and considerate neighbor, wearing slippers around the house and regularly using headphones for music/media so not as to disturb others because, like most apartments, the walls here are paper thin.
Is anyone else also experiencing this? Can anyone else confirm if this is DEW harassment, or what else could be causing these types of floor vibrations and electric shock-like sensations?
Complaints to apartment management and police have been made several times to no avail. Evil neighbors must be able to see when the cops arrive to answer my calls, because of course everything is shut off when they are present in my home -so they can’t confirm that what I am reporting is actually happening because they can’t feel/hear it- and then the thumps, shocks, and noise resume again after police have left. I’m SCARED… and always looking over my shoulder due to this terror I have been living for months now. I am forever scarred. Completely altered.
As bad as the prolonged sleep deprivation has been, another extremely troubling factor of going through these types of harassment is, when you tell management/authorities and even some trusted loved ones, that they look at you and treat you like you are crazy - which only further traumatizes victims (precisely because they’ve never heard of it before). I mean, you CANNOT make this sh*t up!
One's home should be a safe haven -a calm refuge- from the outside world. Mine is no longer safe let alone even habitable. Will be seeking legal assistance, but readers who are electricians/other professionals who might be knowledgeable in this area and/or are experiencing similar to what I am going through: I would really appreciate insight, support, etc. Thank you.
One final thought. If you are the kind of person who is sensitive to normal everyday sounds created by neighbors living around you, you should either make a point to choose a top floor apartment, or select ANY other type of living arrangement other than a multiunit dwelling i.e. multi-story apartment buildings, because people living their everyday normal lives will always generate noise. One day, I believe that neighbors who inflict these types of harassment will, once caught, be held accountable to the full extent of the law. One day.
P.S. And the evil neighbors “win.” I’m moving out soon.

2023.06.03 11:56 Competitive-Pick-673 What we didn't notice in AvA 6? part 4

We ended up at the moment where the gang jumps into the hole.
P.S. In this part there will be our new stickmans. Here are their names:
CGP Gray- a stickman with glasses.
Sign- a stickman of toilet signs.
Pixel- pixel stickman.
Cave- a stickman similar to ancient drawings.
Continue...
We are immediately transported to the place of the hole in the sky. TCO emerges from it, still subtracting. He notices those riders who are either looking for him or wanted to discuss something. (By the way, Sign is the only one who moved in a flying transport. ) TCO has failed again. Then TSC's hands appear, and then his head. He notices them too. Then TCO looks at him and takes his hand, and then flies away, using his left hand to create fire. And he does it. And when he got stuck again, a rainbow gang fell out of the hole. Then he accelerated. And after flying over the riders, they notice him. And he, in turn, waves his hand at them. (After that, I had a question. What was between them before these events that he gives himself away like that? ) Then SPZ Gray showed to follow him. They started chasing him. (In the background, you can see the crater that TSC left. I also noticed that the forest is further from the house.) TCO decides to fly to the clearing. (She looks rather strange. A smooth circle without a single tree. ) Having flown up, he stops flying and immediately flies into the greenery. The riders noticed where he stopped, and CGP Gray gives the command to land. (He's probably the main one giving out commands to everyone. ) They flew by train. The first was Pixel. Behind him is the Cave. Behind him is CGP Gray. And the last one was Sign. But when they land, the order is changed to: 1: CGP Gray 2: Sign 3: Cave 4: Pixel. Their landing is noticed by TSC and TCO. The first one gets out of the transport is a stickman with glasses (CGP Gray), and takes out a weapon with paralyzed cartridges from a drawer under the seat. Then we see the Animate interface on his hand. There were 7 tools visible (Selection, Lasso, Free Transformation, Line, Eraser, Rectangle, Scale.) And a pause icon. He starts with the first tool and somehow moves it up to the "Scale" Tool. (When he selects, holograms of the tool that is highlighted appear above the interface.) Then Sign lands. And when he gets out of the flying machine, I laughed. He has the strangest animation. Then Cave comes out. After warming up a little, he takes out a bow and 2 arrows from his back (or from himself). The last Pixel comes out. He had already drawn his weapon. And after charging, he either had a mouth, or it's like with mechanical spheres. (When the "mouth" appeared, pixel steam was coming out of it.) Then we are switched to TCO and TSC. They first look at the riders, and then crouching down, TCO shows him to fight them. To which TSC refuses. Then he holds him by the shoulder and throws him out of the bushes. And he hid himself. (And the sound was very funny.) The riders notice the TSC and set their sights on it. He waved his hand in turn. Then CGP Gray uses an instinct. The standard was 150%. After the increase in TSC became 200%. And noticing the TCO and bringing it closer became 350%. Then they started shooting. He, in turn, could dodge. Then it hits a tree. the same stunner, and a spark appears. He decides that it is most dangerous for him, he grabs the TSC, and they fly away. Then CGP Gray selects "Scale" again. (Why, if he has already chosen it. It's unclear.) Then he puts it on his glasses. (And then you can understand that the glasses are somehow connected with his powers.) He makes 3 shots. And as always, the last one will be decisive. He gets into the hand where he created the fire. And after spinning a little, this thing still paralyzed TCO. So much so that he couldn't stand up during the fight. And after landing, (in a rather strange way) a pencil falls out of the TSC. He took it and protected TCO.
The last part will be the final one!

Damn ...... just damn. I can hardly believe Shin actually meant this to both enemy and ally and said, " Your hopes, your dreams, everything that drives you, we will inherit it from you and carry it upon our shoulders .. " for the sake of a ever-lasting peace. This is definetely a dream anyone has been hoping for, once in his lifetime.
That statetement hits differently tbf. No wonder Hi Shin unit wish to die for his Shins cause .... and Houken vs Shin is on the way after this. This arc has been amazing ( Western Zhao invasion arc ; chapter 618 ).
In the end, Riboku ( who will - according to history - be executed by his king whom Riboku swore loyalty to ) had to lose a great man like Kinmou and many more, because he is so hot-headed. That will cost his life in the end. He never understand what Ei Sei is actually fighting for, unlike his deceased Generals.
Hopefully his talk with Kanki will suffice, if not anything.

2023.06.03 11:46 Koralani My (F27) RSD is kicking my ass like never before and my boyfriend (M28) completely shuts down if I'm even slightly irritated. How to navigate this dynamic? *Long post*

Hi, I've been thinking about writing this post for a long time now. At this point I have nowhere else to turn, so here I am asking for your advice.
For context. Me (F27), my partner (F28) and my daughter from previous marriage (F4) are living abroad. Our therapy options are limited to say the least, because of the language barrier.
About me: I have ADHD. I was diagnosed in January and take medication for it. The meds help with most of the symptoms, but the worst one for my relationship is still very much there. I have self esteem issues (commonly called daddy issues, I always felt alone and abandoned, last priority for everyone in my life) and also RSD, so I am extremely sensitive and vulnerable when it comes to feeling rejected. Also, no one in my life ever apologized or took any accountability for hurting me. So the feelings of injustice and hurt have festered for a long time. The reason can be the smallest thing, but it hurts like being backstabbed everytime.
About my boyfriend: He's always had anxiety problems. He's the kind of guy who always criticises himself, even for things that are not his fault. He's really conflicted, because deep inside, he was this introverted, sensitive child, who always envied the "real men" who seemed tough for him, and he always hated himself for not being able to be like them. Always felt less than because of that, and in previous relationships he was also mocked because of it. Let me say that his sensitivity and emotional intelligence was the very thing that made me fall for him and I love that about him immensely.
When I met my boyfriend, everything was amazing, of course. He is very caring, loving and was the first person to accept me and love me unconditionally. He gave me all the affection I always craved. Most importantly, if he hurt my feelings in any way, he always apologized, which was also something I've been waiting my entire life for. I was over the moon.
But a couple of months ago it turned out my boyfriend had lied about himself. He has a lot of issues that he didn't tell me about at the beginning. These issues were actually the reason for this. He has terrible self esteem too, he was sure that if he told me, i would've never given him a chance. And after some over a year of our relationship, the honeymoon phase being over, my ADHD starting to really shine through, everything kind of shifted. I got back on my feet, got my diagnosis and my meds and I'm much better now. But the problem is, he isn't.
He became very avoidant and not in the way you would think. He just shuts down. Whenever there is anything wrong with me, it can be regular day to day life frustration, he just runs away, literally avoids me in our house, he's silent, like completely silent. I asked him for support many times in those situations, cause I know his hug and some kind words would calm me down really quickly, but he's just silent, blaming himself for everything and being unable to say a word. We talked many times about it, he tells me that for him it feels like he's paralyzed, like his voice just gets stuck in his throat. It gets worse if he does something wrong and is aware that I'm frustrated because of his behavior.
These days I try to be very calm and not blaming him when I'm frustrated, I know my RSD exaggerates my feelings and reactions. But at the beginning of these problems, I was more direct, more... angry when approaching him and if I pushed him to reply, at some point he would snap and start yelling, usually along the lines of "I can't do ANYTHING right, I'm never good enough for you, I did this and that so you can't feel this way" it's like a mixture of self shaming, defensiveness and desperation. Even when I tell him what exactly he can do in these situations (like hug me, tell me something nice, with examples) he just doesn't know what he's "supposed to" do. He's just stuck in his head overthinking all the possible outcomes and consequences of what he might say and ends up saying nothing. It's not a knowledge thing. When you love someone, you have empathy and you know your partner, it comes naturally, as it did to him for a long time before. Now it feels like he forgot it all.
I told him that I could see he's not coming from a place of love or compassion anymore, now it's just sheer panic, that's why he finds himself unable to do or say anything, he is aware of that, but it's stronger than him. He always apologizes later, when he thinks everything through without me being there (usually when he's at work).
I tried reassuring him and showing him that it's okay if you hurt someone's feelings, that's normal, it happens, as long as it wasn't intentional and you take accountability. I reasurred him many times that it won't make me break up with him or something.
I mentioned at the beginning that if my boyfriend knows I'm frustrated with him, it makes it easier for him to shut down. Recently he started to shut down when I get frustrated/pissed at literally ANYTHING. It can be something completely unrelated to our relationship, something "from the outside". He just gets quiet and leaves the room.
A couple of times I even tried begging for his help (before he went silent) and support, a hug or something and right when I said it, he went silent again.
I read articles about this dynamic of one person shutting down and the other getting frustrated and feeling worthless because of it. I tried all the methods. It just seems like it doesn't matter how gently I approach, I tried using "I" statements, insted of "you" statements, but it doesn't make a difference, he gets the same conclusion anyway and still shuts down. I also tried to offer him texting as a solution, writing me a message, so it's less overwhelming, but it also doesn't work. He shuts down completely. I could literally ask him if he wants to break up and he wouldn't reply.
I know it's not his fault, but it's just so exhausting for me. He doesn't look for solutions, compromise or any systems that might help us communicate. I have to be the one to do all emotional work here, if I don't, the problems just don't get resolved I guess. I tried to give him as much time as he needs, but the longest I managed to wait was two days. For me it was two days of agony, the fact that we live together does not help. My RSD is kicking my ass recently and I get little to none reassurance or simple words of affirmation from him. I feel worthless and unappreciated most of the time. Also, because he's so fragile recently, I have this pressure to control my behaviour, to stay 200% composed and calm. It's my responsibility now to not get even a little bit irritated, I can't stop thinking that if I do, if I slip, I'll be "punished" by his silence. If I calmly and gently start that conversation, he just shuts down again, making me feel even worse and also very very alone.
I tried to fight and hide my hurt feelings, push them down, but unfortunately, as for many others with ADHD, it's impossible, I'm an open book whether I want it or not. I also tried to rationalize, remind myself that it's not his fault, that he's having mental health issues that I need to support him with, but it only works with the smallest "offences", especially now, since after those last months of this issue going on and escalating, my RSD doesn't accept any justifications anymore. I feel like I'm too hurt "long-term" at this point to be the rock that he needs.
I feel like I'm walking on eggshells, I'm also a gentle parent to my daughter and IT IS HARD. It's sometimes impossible to stay calm when my kid also pushes my buttons and I know it's my responsibility as an adult to stay collected. I feel like our entire family's wellbeing is solely on my shoulders.
I told about all of this to my boyfriend, he gets as much time as he needs to think everything through and when we reapproach, he seems to understand everything and promises to try to communicate better, but it's only until the next time (and how fast this next time is going to be, is my responsibility).
Are there any other methods to get him to talk? He has a psychiatrist, but we're still looking for the right meds. Right now him getting better is my only hope, otherwise I feel like this dynamic is going to drain me completely.
Oh, and sorry for the longest post 😅

2023.06.03 11:37 WormgodKieffer Back from the hairdressers with questions

So my hairdresser said that the hair framing my face is curly and the rest is wavy. She was saying that I have a lot of hair that weights down the waves/curls Been told I should get Maria Nila Pink Pop if my pink hair starts to fade. With that in mind was some shampoos and conditioners I can pair with this to keep the colour and help make my hair more wavy? I tried wrapping my hair in a cotton shirt before going to be and for the first time, I didn't wake up with matted hair so yay! However, there are some frizzy bits on the top of my head near where my hair parts any tips on reducing frizz there? I am on the lookout for ways to tie back short hair when you have a lot of hair without damaging it. Hairbands often snap on me and now I have short hair there's hardly any room for hairbands to get a grip. I might try using ribbons/bows and see how that works. Lastly does washing your hair with cold water affect how the hair-washing methods on here work?
