Remember the rules guys. Do not nut. Also, we discourage you from edging even if it is allowed because we all knw that edging is a high risk thing that could make us nut if we are not careful to prevent the climax. So try not to edge no matter how bad the urges. Anyways, are you "Still IN" or "OUT"?

2023.06.03 03:56 blackbird_sing Negotiating pay and work expectations after trial ends

I'm currently doing a trial for a physical job that is essentially at a startup. I would be a contractor (at least to start).
The bare minimum requirement is that I do about an hour a half of active work a day, and spend the rest of the time monitoring any system alerts. At maximum, I could fill up my entire shift with fairly physically demanding tasks, and there are so many tasks available I can't finish them all.
If I do the bare minimum, I would get paid less than if I fill the whole shift with work. When he wrote the salary in writing, the pay for the more active role was twice as much as the pay for the more passive role.
I am not sure how to negotiate my salary and responsibilities because I have unpredictable health problems. What I'm able to do can change from week to week, and sometimes I have flares for weeks at a time.
I told my supervisor I have health problems that can prevent me from doing substantial work, but that I will probably be able to do the bare minimum regardless. I guessed that I would be able to actively work for about half of the shift. He set my initial salary in the middle of the two wages he had proposed in writing.
During the trial, I have worked hard for entirety of each shift. I don't know if this would be sustainable for me long-term, but I'm enjoying it and doing okay so far.
In an ideal world, I'd like to get paid the higher wage for the number of hours I'm actively doing work above the bare minimum. And if there are days I can only do the bare minimum, I'd like to get paid the lower wage for the whole shift. But that could be somewhat messy.
Thoughts?
I'm not sure how to have a conversation with my supervisor about this. I'm thinking of opening with something like, what are your expectations of me for the wage you proposed?
I also basically have to check in with him outside my official work hours, and am not currently getting paid for it. So I would want to bring that up too.
Thoughts welcome!

2023.06.03 03:43 Drakolf The Lone Knight:

They still appeared human, mostly. There was always some clear indication of what they were, fleshy tendrils that quickly sewed their wounds shut, mutations that made them more dangerous, more deadly. Vicious claws that could cut through flesh like a hot knife through butter, the ability to spit acid with little damage to the body, and all of the intelligent cunning that came with it.
It wasn't the military that survived, they were the first to be overwhelmed. The soldiers were the more dangerous of the infected, they had the knowledge and technical know needed to use tactics, to use their guns, to kill. They'd run out of ammo a few years ago, everyone who knew how to make more had been killed, or killed themselves once they realized infection would doom humanity.
It wasn't the rich who outlasted them, if anything, their sense of security only made them easier to infect. They were largely as useful as the average infected, they were just fodder for us to cut down.
It was us who survived. Years of creative anachronism had led to skills that made survival easier on us. It was ironically the more archaic ways of life that stumped the infected. They didn't understand the wooden walls that surrounded our villages, they didn't comprehend the moats that separated them from us, nor did they really know how to deal with the alligators we filled the moats with.
The modern world was dead, left to rot as the infected focused more on infecting us, than maintaining infrastructure.
I was a knight, my armor more than capable of protecting from their claws, my sword more than effective at cutting them apart, since the more damage they sustained, the more the body was allowed to break down, the easier it was to carve through them.
It was my zeal for protecting my people, bordering on a religious obsession, that kept the parasite in my brain from taking command.
Infection was only possible if an infected implanted the parasite into you, I'd been unlucky to be pinned to the ground, to have the parasite shoved into my mouth before I could fight back. The pain as it made its way to my brain was horrendous, yet I held firm to my insistence on protecting them.
The parasite rendered me practically invisible to them, a fact that made dealing with them easier for me. Every once in a while, though, my thoughts twisted on themselves, the desire to share my gift, to give my people greater protection against our enemies, it was all a compulsion meant to turn me against them.
I coughed up the parasite that had gestated within my body, crushing it underfoot in spite of the agony the action caused me. It was all I could do to resist, to cut down as many as I could, even though I was an exile, even though they had threatened to kill me if I so much as tried to return.
The archers still trained their arrows on me, daring me to approach, waiting for the moment I was too far gone to fight.
I would kill as many of the infected as I could if it meant saving my people.
One day, that incessant desire to infect them faded. I knew the parasite hadn't died, it was still actively trying to take me over, rather, I felt urged to just leave, they weren't important enough to waste more resources on.
I stayed, planting my sword in the dirt and resting. They were too much of a threat, too many of us- of them had been killed, it was unsustainable now.
I took in a shuddering breath as the drawbridge was lowered, a small contingent of knights approaching me, their weapons drawn, always wary of me. I reflexively coughed up a parasite, and equally reflexively crushed it under my fist, they had faltered, briefly, uncertain how to proceed.
"It's still me." I said, my voice hoarse for lack of use. "Still me for as long as I can manage."
One of them approached me, the doctor, one of the few people we managed to save who had any form of modern knowledge. "Remove your helmet." She said. I did so, even thought he parasite struggled to prevent me from doing it, struggled to take control and kill her.
"Kill me before I kill you." I spat through gritted teeth. She was quick, as my fellow knights held my arms down, the syringe filled my blood with fire, the parasite screamed through me, taking control finally and thrashing my body around. I vomited up parasite after parasite, all writhing on the ground, all dying.
It still hurt, when I regained control over my body. I no longer felt the parasite trying to take control. It was still there, still part of me, still alive, but it couldn't control me anymore.
I sat up, exhausted, but still awake because the parasite prevented sleep, prevented me from resting.
"Is it dead?" She asked.
"No." I said. "But it stopped trying to take over." I took deep breaths, it hurt to relax, to just flop back down on the ground and let every clenched muscle painfully loosen. "My thoughts are clear for the first time in forever."
"Unexpected, but a good sign." She remarked. She picked up one of the parasites I'd thrown up with a pair of wrought iron tongs, I was surprised when it writhed around, clearly still alive. "I see, it seems because they were inside of you when I injected you, they didn't die, maybe because the solution was diluted."
"Whatever you did made the rest of them think you weren't worth the effort anymore." I blinked, the realization hitting me. "I, uh, I'm one of them now." I said.
"What do you mean?" She asked.
"It took control of me, it's still in control, but I don't really feel that different." I wordlessly removed my right gauntlet and looked at my hand. It effortlessly changed, growing claws more than capable of killing everyone here. I couldn't change it back, it was very much a one-way mutation. "I think whatever you did mixed something up, made it think it's me, or maybe I'm just the parasite piloting a body, thinking it's me."
I could feel within myself more parasites beginning to gestate, a faint desire to infect them that I wasn't particularly keen on following anymore. "Yeah, I'm dead now, I think."
She held her hand out, the one that wouldn't get eviscerated by my claws. "If you think you're safe enough, we'll go back in, I'll study you, and if you're safe, well, you can rejoin us."
I nodded, taking her hand.
This wasn't the end, there wasn't going to be some grand recovery of what he'd lost, it was entirely likely generations in the future, society would not be so different from where we'd been centuries in the past.
All I knew was, it was my zeal to protect my people that kept me from succumbing, and now I saw Humans as something like a god.

2023.06.03 02:04 Drakolf TftM Lore- Power Struggle

Humans were fucking insane.
Well, that was the popular consensus, regardless of how much time had passed. Eager to leap into violent combat in one moment, advocating for peace the next. They could storm an enemy base with overwhelming firepower and not kill a single combatant, or one lone Human could waltz right in and kill each and every one of the inhabitants.
Between the Canician Councilor mating with a Human- who then subsequently transitioned to match his species- and the Human Councilor pulling insane gambits like legally enslaving an entire species just to force them to agree to not force a faith tax on the rest of the galaxy- they were subsequently released from bondage, marking the shortest enslavement of a species in the entire galaxy- and Humans willingly undergoing various forms of assimilation without so much as a second thought, it was understandable how this perception had come about.
Naturally, this combination of insanity and overwhelming capacity of violence- tempered only by their love of peace, art, and memes- had led to many of the more carnivorous species wanting to acquire one- either as a pet, or in many other cases- as a lover.
The Human-Caniti War had started and ended with Humans and Canicians fighting and bickering- the end result being no less bloody, but more often than not, with the Humans and Canicians being the ones bloodying something else. It had been a rapid shift in perception, Humans and Canicians viewing each other as bitter enemies, to fierce rivals, to practically best friends, especially when an otherwise weak Human doctor took out three Canician hunters on a Murder Planet on live television.
The most common term for Human-Caniti relationships that were non-reproductive was 'Gruufrahk', which was loosely translated as, 'Life mates who do not birth', or as was more common, 'Canician Homosexuality'. Which was ironic, considering Canicians didn't specifically feel the need to have a word for male to male pairings.
These pairings were subsequently some of the most stable, with any polycules forming being equally strong.
The same could not be said of Human-Vagraxi pairings.
Their war had been a long and bloody affair, with many Humans being captured and assimilated for their forces. It was only an overlooked flaw in the assimilation process that had brought the war from outright open conflict to a tense cold war. There were very few places Humans and Vagraxi could gather peacefully, one being a joint space station staffed by Vagraxi and assimilated Humans who had retained their sense of identity.
It wasn't like the Vagraxi could do much more to them, and the Humans were among those who at least found their new bodies more comfortable.
The other was the Hedron, but even there, the Vagraxi kept a tight border. It was for good reason that their respective Sectors were also the farthest away from each other.
Even so, there were Vagraxi who were attracted to the Humans for the same reason the Canicians were- Humans were some of the most efficient killers in the galaxy, especially when spited. The same qualities the Empire had coveted for their army were also the qualities the Vagraxi saw in a mate, and for this reason, those tensions were beginning to thaw, but not completely.
Vagrax Prime still mandated that the only way there would be peace between them and Humanity was if Humanity assimilated and merged with the Empire. The existence of Humans willingly swearing allegiance to them and being assimilated indicated to them that at least the Humans weren't entirely unreasonable.
The Sol System, by contrast, mandated the only way there would be peace between them and the Empire was if the Vagraxi stopped being such dicks and gave up on biological assimilation. The existence of Vagraxi willing to cooperate with Humans within the extent of their homeworld's laws indicated to them that at least the Vagraxi weren't entirely unreasonable.
Nonetheless, it was still a power struggle, one that could only end if by some miracle they got along- or one side was completely subjugated.
As of the present, the political situation is considered balanced, while the cooperation is largely grudging, there is some exchange of debate. Human-Vagraxi debates are among the most heated, and even those otherwise disinterested in philosophy or politics find them fascinating. Moreover, Vagraxi assimilation devices- B.A.D.s- have a small but notable import in certain Human colonies, where some Humans willingly undergo assimilation for a job, and subsequently undergo genetic therapy to revert when done.
Political theorists hypothesize that of the possibilities for peace, the most likely is one culture subsuming the other entirely, but not without significant and permanent changes in the host society.

2023.06.03 01:37 Drakolf TftM: David And Grahim's First Date

The hospital always carried a distinct lack of scent, the antiseptics more than doing their duty at sanitizing the building. Most species that relied on scent to navigate found the place disorienting, and the Caniti were no exception. It was only through sheer frequency of visitation that Grahim was able to navigate the halls with any degree of competence, and that was mostly because he visited his mate often.
Around one third of his visits were related to injury, the only time he'd visited another one was when he contracted rabies in the Human sector of the Hedron, and that had been long past by now. It was his first visit to the hospital, in fact, that had been his introduction to his mate, David.
He'd been a candidate for the Council back then, young and hotblooded, proving not only his strength of body against other Caniti who vied for the position, but his strength of personality on the debate floor. It was one debate in particular that had turned bloody, when his opponent, unable to adequately counter his arguments, lunged at him with a knife.
The fight had been short, but bloody, and unfortunately most of it had been Grahim's, not that he particularly minded, since his would-be murderer was dead from a pair of ocular ruptures delivered via thumb claws.
Still, he'd been bleeding out, his intestines sliding out from a gash in his belly, most doctors wrote him off as a lost cause, he'd be dead before long even with some blood transfusions and surgery. The biggest hurdle was that his blood type was one of the rarest in Caniti biology, he could donate all he wanted, but he couldn't receive anything but his blood type. It would take the entire stock of what the hospital had to treat him, and ironically, it was all his blood regardless.
The fact of the matter was, operating on him was career suicide. Even if everything was put back where it needed to be, recovery was going to be long and brutal and just as likely to lead to his untimely demise.
Grahim refused to die, and one doctor refused to let a patient simply die without trying.
David had always been calm and collected, even after he transitioned into a Caniti. Even back then, he was known as the doctor who was only slightly better than death, because he was used to resistant patients trying to take his head off out of sheer fight response.
There were no introductions, simply him being wheeled into the operating room that was only barely put together properly. There was no time, it was do or die, and David was insistent on doing.
Grahim didn't have the luxury of anesthetic, for one, his blood pressure was desperately low and it was all the surgeons could do to pump more into him and staunch the worst of the bloodloss the best they could. For another, he was allergic to most anesthetics, and the one he wasn't allergic to was unfortunately out of stock.
Grahim didn't howl or whimper, he simply bit down on the leather belts placed in his jaw as tightly as he could and stared murder at the ceiling. The sensation of having his viscera moved was unpleasant, alien, they were parts of him that weren't meant to be touched like this, yet David worked quickly.
His intestines weren't tossed in with a hope for the best, David slid them back in along the anatomical route he had memorized, ensuring they hadn't twisted or would cause any blockages later on. He was fortunate none of his organs had been punctured, all things considered.
What happened next could only be described as the worst kind of agony, his belly being sutured shut, then glued so that there was relatively little chance of the stitches popping. Grahim- more out of spite than anything else- remained conscious throughout.
The surgery, although a success, was likened to butchery. It was messy, had kept the patient in agony throughout, and needed intensive followup care that nobody was really willing to risk their careers on.
When accused of violating his Hippocratic Oath, David had simply replied, "My patient is alive right now, so if we are finished here, I intend on keeping him alive."
At the time, Grahim had a fairly low opinion on Humans- even though they had won the war between their species, he had considered them weak-willed and soft. At first, he growled at David, threatening to kill him if he so much as touched him.
"Then make it quick, you'll be dead not long after. Let me treat you, and I'll make sure you live." David's voice had all of the hallmarks of malice, yet was no less kind for what it was. Grahim had been struck with the ferocity of it, the fear it had briefly inspired in him. For the first time, a Human had won his respect, and he complied.
The recovery had been as brutal as the surgery, antibiotics and injections to not only keep him stable, but to ensure he didn't have any infections. It was touch and go, but when Grahim had stepped out of the hospital two months later, none of his opposition believed for a second that he hadn't fought for his life and backed out of the race.
And just as he did today, he visited the hospital specifically to see David. Back then, it had simply been to praise him on his strength, to learn how a Human had managed to be so powerful even among his peers. The more he learned, the more attracted to the Human he became, until one day, he was willing to share as much about himself as David had.
By the end of another two months, they had decided to become a couple, and after two more, Grahim had elected to choose him as his mate, for better or worse.
David was just finishing with another patient, another life-or-death case, another meatgrinder surgery that by some miracle only David seemed capable of, one of many that had been a success.
Though freshly cleaned, David still smelled of blood, Grahim was proud in his mate, knowing that the scent had been well-earned...

2023.06.03 01:37 froginaskinsuit How long do I give a swollen lymph node to settle before seeing someone?

29 female, 5'4'', 110lbs, caucasian
No medical conditions, no meds
I had COVID in early April. Pretty rough go but mild infection overall - no medical intervention was needed.
3 weeks ago noticed a swollen lymph node in my armpit. It's not huge but definitely bigger than the other side. It has not changed in size in the last 3 weeks as far as I can tell.
My only other symptom is insane fatigue. I felt fine for about 10 days after my initial covid infection and then started feeling like crap. Now, I go from bed to work and back to bed again. It does not worsen with exertion and does not get better with rest. No brain fog, no other funky symptoms.
Barring any new symptoms, how long should I wait before going to my doctor? I live in a small community where resources are stretched thin and don't want to waste a visit.

and the only bar in town is closed on a friday night, sigh.
So here I am again, drinking alone on a Friday and could use a little chat and chatter this weekend. Currently drinking a bastardized margarita: tequila, cointreau, splash of pineapple and mango juice. The limes I bought a week and a bit ago didn't taste right.
What do I want to talk about: whatever is on your mind? Did you have a good a day? Got big weekend plans? Plotting a terrible conspiracy theory? What's your go to meal to cook? When is the next time you'll see your folks and why? Who is that behind you? No, the other shoulder. Must have been nothing, forget about it.

2023.06.03 01:12 InternalInfluence253 How To Deal With Inactive Friendships?

Apologies for the long post, I do not type on Reddit. For background I have been all my life an extremely private and quiet person and I like to keep my circle small to 5-6 close friends that I can meet up with and hang out with online. Most of these friends I am active with and keep up with them as much as I feel is reasonable. This can mean sending posts I know they'll like, attempting to schedule something, and or asking if they want to play video games we have in common. I am by no means overactive or overbearing (at least from my own opinion), I try and match the energy they give me and check in maybe once a week or so.
Everyone I interact with is around my age group (18-21) and all of us are in college. I have always tried to be attentive and listen to advice and feedback closely as I'm not a very confrontational person to try and be the best person and friend I can be to them, as such I don't believe there has ever been a large situation or even very many conflicts that weren't common mistakes from either side that would justify the following thing I seek advice on.
I have 2 friends from this group, J and G (both female, I am Non-Binary) that I considered myself fairly close to, though G had been my best friend for years and we have known each other for longer. Both of them I feel I am no longer close to, and wish to seek advice on how to handle the situation or if communication is the answer to this.
For J, I have known her for about 3 years and we talked very frequently sharing multiple things in common. We went to the same college and met up monthly in person to talk and catch up, and some other events and occasions. I never felt any of these interactions went poorly, and walked away happy with how they went. I'm usually a listener and spend most of my time asking questions and listening, though I never felt things were unbalanced as she did the same thing back. These past 3 months communication has been less than desirable, and whenever I've sent a text it can take her upwards of 3 days to reply, which I wouldn't mind normally but it was every occasion I sent a message, which became less and less frequent. She stopped reaching out and I assumed she was busy with work and school.
I figured Summer would be a good time to try and do something, so I sent her a message and got a response back that she'd love to do something over the duration. I had a busy first week and then sent her a message the next to see if she'd be interested in doing something. She then informed me that she was moving that week halfway across the state which I had no knowledge of. She said that she'd like to play online games when she was moved, this was about 2 weeks after her move and I haven't heard anything. The advice I wish to receive on this matter is if this is an equal friendship. Some online friends have told me that this seems like a very one-sided friendship and I shouldn't keep chasing it, but my father has given me the advice that a good friendship is worth chasing after and spending extra effort on. I'm torn, I feel like I've done my part reaching out on multiple occasions only for the energy to not be reciprocated, but that also I care about her as a person and I don't feel like I can afford to lose a friend of 3 years.
For G the story is much more simple as this is extremely recent event. Me and G watch a show weekly, I usually initiate most conversations with her and we plan a date. She lost her grandfather 2 months ago and we stopped watching for a month, but were texting and talking from time to time and did talk over the phone a couple of times after. Recently she traveled to Europe for a week for school related things and I sent her a text asking how things were going, she said good and that she had pictures to send when she got back. I never heard from her and assumed she was busy or maybe not feeling like talking. That's fine. We missed the date for watching something and I felt that maybe something was off.
I sent her a text asking how she was doing and wanting to catch up and no response. I haven't heard from her in 2 weeks now, though we follow each other on TikTok since we sent videos to each other a lot during it's prime, and it notifies me whenever my friends log in on the application, so I at least know she's alive. This sudden drop in communication feels really sudden to me, and I'm not sure if I should send another text or wait for her to communicate with me as I don't want to be overbearing. I'm not sure if maybe this is grief related or not (her and her grandfather were reasonably close and she helped him from time to time), and that's why I'm treating the situation delicately despite my feelings being hurt at the lack of reaching out.
Really these two incidents have made me feel very insecure, and I'm wondering if inquiring about the state of these two friendships is a good idea, or if I should just attempt to move on or give them time. Thank you for your time and reading, and any and all advice would be very greatly appreciated.

2023.06.03 01:11 AyitsPapi Nuestra Comunidad Project

Nuestra Comunidad Project
Hi I hope this can be posted here. Trying to find others like me in the community!
As a first generation Salvadoran-American in New York, finding a community that understood all the nuances and complexity of my identity was difficult. Judged by my level of speaking in both English and Spanish, and how I presented, my identity was always questioned. Finding the alternative community that is Emo, Post-hardcore, punk, hardcore, etc. helped create the self confidence and building blocks for self identity. The space created the opportunity to fit in and the reality that we are all the same. The screams from the bands are our sermon, the mosh pit are our rituals and the venues are our cathedrals. This is the community where we’re whole.
My Latin identity is a part of who I am, but for a few hours everyone in the venue, is exactly the same. We all come together to express our daily frustrations by yelling the lyrics, by tossing our bodies into one another, and picking each other up when we fall. It’s the human experience that brings us together. I know many people in the space have felt this therefore; I have been wanting to connect with my community more. To give back and recognize those who have found their home.
For a few months I’ve been wanting to create a series of work based on the fans, specifically Hispanics, Latinos, Latinx, Latine, etc. who are a part of this community. Who also have felt a division within themselves as I have. To those who have struggled to find their identity but have been able to through this community. This is all for you.
To those who fit the description, I’d like to get to know you and create a portrait of you. If you’d like to participate please answer the google form. The link is provided above. I’m hoping to connect with everyone and to know this community on a deeper level. Thank you.

2023.06.03 00:21 bopandrade How likely grade 2 luxating patella evolves into grade 3? Is preventive surgery always better?

Species: Dog
Age: 2.5 years
Sex/Neuter status: Female/spaded
Breed: Shi Tzu
Hi, my dog was diagnosed with grade 2 luxating patella. The vet recommend preventative surgery but i am a skeptic of certain preventative treatments (e.g. i only removed my wisdom teeth after developed pain).
I was wondering what would be the issues if i were to wait until it increased to a level 3 situation (where the dog not always manages to correct the bone position).
Shi Tzus are expected to live ~16 years so this is something weighting on doing the preventative surgery earlier rather than later.

2023.06.03 00:03 _SpiceWeasel_BAM How to handle kid’s birthday party?

How do you handle your kid’s birthday party, specifically balancing the family gathering and the friends playing? We have a small family, and they’re all…pretty socially awkward, but now that my kid’s turning 3 and has actual friends from school I obviously want to invite them too.
But I feel like with him playing with his friends our families will just…sit there and watch them play?
Of course as I’m typing, I realize this is an issue specific to us since our families both have very few social skills… My kid’s the only thing they have in common so if he’s removed and playing with his friends, it’s just a bunch of people with nothing to say to each other standing around.
Okay; this turned into a stream of consciousness mini-rant so I’ll turn it back to a question: how do you more normal folk generally do birthdays?

2023.06.02 23:57 Drakolf TftM- The Taming of the Caniti:

The average Canician was at least twice the size of the average Human. Bristling with flesh-tearing fangs, razor-sharp claws that were capable of rending entire limbs off most denizens of the galaxy, and a libido that allowed them to develop a culture around hunting, killing, and maiming not only their prey, but themselves due to being able to outbreed their own insatiable bloodlust.
First Contact with humanity was the normal affair of declaring war just to have a pretense to see what new dishes their meat would make, they hadn't expected Humanity to hit them as hard as they could, unleashing the most terrible weapons of mass destruction on their people.
The Canicians saw this, and knew this tiny, frail species were kindred, not-meat, and as the atomic dust settled, they reached out for peace, something they only ever did when they had their fun.
The galactic community had been utterly shocked when Humanity accepted the Canicians' surrender, and proved themselves equally politically vicious when it came to settling wars, not only forcing Canicians to abide by their rules of war, but declaring to the Council that if the rest didn't follow suit, they would have zero protection from Humanity or the Canicians if they decided to declare war.
Caniti-Grau was once a barren wasteland. Once a garden world that evolved the galaxy's most insatiable murderballs of death, the Canicians had stripped it of all its natural resources and built the Hedron, originally a Canician death cannon turned into a central trading hub between all of the species of the galaxy.
Humanity was the one that breathed life back into it, seeded it with life, turned it into a world teeming with dangerous flora and fauna. The perfect world for a Canician to hunt, and a much-needed vacation for Grahim.
An ambassador on the Hedron, the past few weeks had taken their toll on the poor guy's mental health, least of all from having to suppress his normally violent nature. For all the benefit that Humanity brought them, they had effectively clipped their claws, made the other species more confident in refusing them.
It frustrated his people to no end, yet they realized this was what they had wanted ever since they took to the stars- Someone willing to fight back, someone willing to say no and mean it, because as humiliating as it was to have one's proposals ignored without consideration, it did mean that Grahim was able to look it over and realize how absolutely stupid it was.
That didn't change the fact that he had the need to fling his entire self at a Vargal and maul it to death before feasting on its entrails.
"How much of that blood is yours?" David asked as his companion dragged the shredded corpse to him. Unflappable, while the Human doctor didn't cringe at the sight of blood, he didn't necessarily like it, nor was he a fan of violence and bloodsport.
Grahim rolled his shoulders, popping a few joints and worsening some of his wounds in the process. He grinned, his eyes full of life. "I'm not dead, that's all that matters, Grrhaf." The Canician replied.
"I'll get the hose." David was good at hiding the worry in his voice. Canicians had evolved to be hard to kill. Humans, omnivorous, physically weak, and as absolutely insane as his own species could be, were the only species universally agreed to be their apex predator. Grahim loved the chills that went down his spine at the thought.
David returned with a hose connected to heated water, the smell of blood was lessened, replaced by the thick musk of wet Canician. He had at least three serious gashes, two bites, and to Grahim's concern, at least one gouge that was actually pretty close to a major artery. David didn't waste time. He took out his surgical tools, cleaned Grahim's injuries, and stitched them up before applying the medical gel that almost instantly healed the wounds.
"The stitches will dissolve in a week." David said, trying his hardest to hide his concern. He looked at his wrist-mounted holodeck, checking the nanites in Grahim's bloodstream for any internal damage. It was all minimal, nothing serious required. "Do you need to hunt some more, or are we good?"
"We're good." Grahim replied before stepping away to shake himself dry. "Though, there is one bit of prey I'd like to conquer." He added with a smirk.
David's brow raised, a coy smile played on his lips. "Are we using the cattle prod, or are we sticking with the spear?" He asked, glancing down.
"Tempting, but spear hunting will have to suffice." Grahim replied. He approached David as menacingly as he could, rested his finger underneath the soft human's chin, and gently pushed it up. "I want a struggle." He said.
David immediately took Grahim's hand and pulled him into their recreational ship.
Euphemisms aside, they both enjoyed their vacation, Grahim was perfectly capable of gentleness, vulnerability, especially under the skilled fingers of the doctor. The Canician led out a contented growl as David lightly ran his fingers through the fur on his head and belly.
David smiled adoringly at his insane murderball of a companion. He was still getting used to their psychology, but for a brief moment, watching him fight the Vargal, he felt a rush of that same excitement.

2023.06.02 23:37 jameagle FIFA giving me opponent's settings?

All year I have been using different camera settings every game, which I assume are my opponent's and I've gotten used to it. But I just played a game which turned off my ground pass assistance and it literally lost me the game. I checked my settings to make sure it the setting was turned on, which it was, so there was literally no way for me to fix it. What is actually happening and how common is this?
