Car rentals for seniors

I have a 2021 Hyundai Venue (in Texas) and I've spent many hours researching but haven't been able to decide on a brand/type. I previously had Nikon's on a Chevy Cruze that worked great until I got rid of the car.
I'm mostly searching for a tire with better grip on highways as I tend to take trips a lot. I never drive in the snow but there's frequently thunderstorms between Texas and the Southeast US coast where I spend a lot of time.
My current budget is around $550 but only for the best tires that I will not regret purchasing.

Am I the only one that really misses Monaco / Côte d'Azur ?? ? Back in the day that was my go to time trail track for all my modded cars haha

My toddler is about to hop on a balance bike for the first time. Was wondering if there are any big flat paved open spaces around here for him to practice on.
I know about the walkway to westpac and will probably head there if I don’t get any better ideas, but was looking for something closer to the eastern suburbs if possible…

Have a 2019 Bolt with a ChargePoint HomeFlex. Location based charging is off.
Scheduled charging thru the EVSE so it turns on at 12am and runs til 6am for time of use electric plan.
I limit the car to 80% and plug it in. It give the error that it can’t charge (normal) because there is no power going into the charger.
When I go back to check the charge limit has reset itself back to 100% charge.
I have tested this as well by turning off the charge schedule on the EVSE and just doing it thru the car. Same thing happens, delayed charging comes up with the correct limit on the dash but if I go back and check it sets itself to 100%
The car was never turned on or messed with during these times
Have no idea why this is happening and would appreciate any feedback

So Firestone said I need to change brake pads on all my tires. The price was around $1000 for front and rear. Anywhere else I can get this done without spending so much? Or is this normal price? My car is a Nissan Rogue SV 2019. Would buying brake pads from Autozone by myself make it any cheaper?

I’m looking for a new map for travelling around the country in the car. Any recommendations on what’s the best large scale map or road atlas that’s available? Would prefer spiral bound too.

This is long so I’m sorry but I need somewhere to vent. For some background, my (37f) middle sister (31f) is diagnosed with narcissistic personality disorder. She has been a strain on my family and is the most ungrateful little leach I’ve ever known. She is manipulative of my parents and will purposefully destroy or steal their stuff. She will throw huge tantrums from not getting her way on the smallest things (like wanting to drive everyone to a location but everyone wanting me to drive because my car has more seats). If she is not the center of attention she ruins everyone’s time by making a huge scene and leaving no matter what guests are there. She never says thank you for the free house our parents gave her, the hundreds of thousands they have paid to keep her out of jail for her TWO DUIs and 3 free cars they have given her. She has the audacity to complain that they got her a Japanese car and not an American car. She paid nothing, she babysits part time for a living and refuses to get a full time job. I feel terrible for even saying this but I wish she would die. Now my bf (39m) and I are very close to his family because I have chosen to distance myself from my own. They have their issues but as a whole it’s much a healthier environment and I get along really well with them. The issue now is with HIS sister (36f). We will call her Ally. Unlike my sister, Ally is a kind person at heart. She definitely has empathy but was dealt a bad hand with severe depression early in life, and now on top of everything has PTSD from the army. I won’t go into detail. She has been on and off various medications since childhood, but since coming home, she has not been able to find stable work due to depressive stints, panic attacks, and random outbursts that border on psychotic episodes. Her parents have been paying for everything and her savings is drained just trying to exist without a job plus a mortgage to pay. She has even started blowing up at my bf for not helping enough which is incredibly out of character, but has started to feel eerily familiar. He is of course heartbroken. His sister and he were very close growing up and when she went to the army they kept in touch but he could tell she was struggling. Now she’s home, refuses to/can’t get a job, and is pushing her family away and blaming them for not being sensitive to her and her needs. This is also eerily familiar. Now my poor bf has given her money, offered to have her stay with us (I have no problem with it) tried getting her jobs, etc but she just lashes out at him. On top of that, since we are both the oldest, our families come to us to fix everything which is stressful as well. His parents call to vent about Ally, she calls to complain about them, etc. I know where this is going and I’m helpless to stop it or help him. I don’t know if she will ever go back to who she was and he may need to make the same decision I did years ago with putting distance between them. I hope she gets better but I don’t see it going that way.

2013 Buick Verano.. First time doing a oil change myself on this car since I'd usually go to the stealership to keep up with my engine warranty. So after I topped it off with 4.5 quarts.. lowered from the ramps.. leveled.. ran the car for a minute.. Checked the dipstick and its bone dry.. added the other .5 quart.. barely anything on the dip.. ended up having to add a whole extra quart to top it off.. What's up with that?

I’ve seen a few positive reviews on here for the FlexTail TinyPump 2X, but I’m curious if anyone has used them for towable tubes? Would be awesome to have that on the boat for too-offs, or even as a replacement for the 12v one I use now and plug into the car before launching.

My current car has been a bit of a lemon for me, and after a repair quote of a minimum of $8k, I've decided to move on while it still holds value.
With how damn expensive cars are, I'm kind of having a hard time deciding on anything. I do expect to be in whatever I buy for 10+ years, but I also want to enjoy whatever I buy, if that makes sense.
I'm strongly considering a Subaru WRX. I'd likely go for the Premium with the package upgrade, but could get talked into a Limited for the right amount.
My two biggest "issues" are 1) I don't know that I really want a sedan long-term, and 2) I don't know if I'd enjoy the WRX enough to justify the immediate price tag.
I'm considering leasing instead, and buying it if I decide I still like it in 3 years. I know that I'd be paying more long-term, but I'd also have a maintenance and use history, which is more valuable to me anyway.
(I anticipate life being different for us in 3-5 years, which is why I have some hesitation)
I've never leased before and have heard some horror stories, but also very few examples of people leasing something they intend to buy later. It seems like it's mostly geared towards people who want a new car every couple of years, and that is not me. I'd only want something new if I decided it didn't really suit my needs.
Thoughts? Opinions?

I know about the guideline saying that rent should not exceed 1/3 of the annual gross salary (not actually sure if net or gross salary, but for example if I have a salary of 57k a year, my rent must not exceed 19k per year, so ~1583 chf per month) but what do you think is the best ratio to be able to save some money? I am single, I don’t have a car and I have a monthly net salary of 4k (I live in Tessin) and I pay 1200 chf for rent for a small 2.5. Removing rent, health insurance, food and other expenses, I save about 2k every month. Has anyone of you found the perfect “formula” to save the most without having a particular lifestyle (going out often, spending etc…) ?

okay so i recently found out about a position with hawk pest control that is NOT d2d (their Pest control division is d2d) but this is for termite sales (a new division where you get set up with about 8-10 appointments a day and you basically just go close) you get housing and a rental car(they are in several markets in the south) and at minimum KPIs the guy said you should bring in 12 a month (commission is 20 percent of revenue, need to be selling 60k a month). has anyone hear worked with them, know if its too good to be true? ive read mixed reviews about hawk online but am interested. ive sold solar and insurance but know nothing about pest control/termites/bugs

Does anyone know if ANYONE has been accepted into FSU or UCF (summer) with an 1100 SAT score? I’m not sure if I should even consider applying. (I know, it’s low)

High school senior this year, w female My talent is art (2 local art awards, and art magazine awards) First generation 30th percentile for my class (I know, it’s mediocre, hoping to bump it up senior year a little but my class is a super competitive group) 3.85 unweighted 5.5 weighted Will have 11 college courses by graduation (4 APs, 7 dual enrollments) *Making my senior schedule rigorous Will have close to 400 volunteer hours by fall of senior year. NHS, Key club, Art club, church summer counselor, library systems volunteer Photography intern for local photographer Babysitting Reading tutor for middle schooler.
Should I try for summer at either? Does anyone know if art majors stand a slim chance with talents that exceeds SAT score?
