2023.03.30 20:41 Roller95 [OC] A look at the players who played for the Dutch NT before playing in the Eredivisie
I stumbled upon a fun idea for a post (at least I think so, lol) when I was about to write a post about something else. So I nixed that idea and instead wrote this!
In total, there have been 9 players who have played for the Dutch national team, without ever having played in the Eredivisie since it's inception in 1956. Additionally, there have been 6 players who had not played in the Eredivsie at the time of their debuts, but who would do so later in their careers. Who are these players and how did their careers pan out? Let's find out! I'll be going in chronological order, from the first player who made their Netherlands debut, to the latest, starting with the list of players who have never played in the Eredivisie.
Players who never played in the Eredivisie - Willi Lippens, debut in 1971 Lippens was born in Germany to a German mother and a Dutch father. He would spend the majority of his career playing in Germany, mainly for Rott-Weiss Essen, where he played from 1965-1976, and later again from 1980-1981. He scored 209 goals for this club in almost 400 matches spread over the Bundesliga, 2. Bundesliga Nort and regional league games. Between 1976 and 1979 he played in the Bundesliga for Borussia Dortmund. Then he left to play for Dallas Tornado in the North American Soccer League. He would stay here for one year until returning to his first club. His debut for the Dutch national team ultimately proved to be his only appearance for the country. It came in a qualification match for the European Championships against Luxembourg, in which he scored the opening goal of a 6-0 win. It is said that he received various invitations to play for the German national team, but his father forbid him. He would have liked to play for the team, but out of respect for his father, and what his parents lived through during the war, he always declined.
- Wim Hofkens, debut in 1983 Wim Hofkens was first scouted by Feyenoord, but he would opt for Willem ll, who had just opened a football boarding school. He would rise through the youth academy and make his debut in 1974 at 16-years old. The team was playing in the second division at this time. He would grow out to become an important player for the club. In 1976 however he would move to Belgium, despite renewed interest from Feyenoord. The 18-year old joined KSK Beveren, from the top tier. Although he was mostly used to playing as a central defender at Willem ll, at the Belgian club he would mostly play as a defensive midfielder. In 1977/78 they won the Belgian cup in a 2-0 victory over Sporting Charleroi. This was their very first prize in the history of the club. This meant that next season they would play Europen football, for the first time in almost a decade. Beveren reached the semi final of the Europacup ll, Ultimately losing to FC Barcelona. in 1979 they won the domestic league for the first time. In 1980, Hofkens left for RSC Anderlecht. A new team meant another position change. In the first season he would mostly play on the left of midfield. In 1981 Anderlecht won the league. His multifunctionality proved very useful for the team, as for the next season he would mostly play on the right side, even as right back occasionally. In total he would play 5 seasons for the club, including a 1-year loan against Beerschot (he had suffered some injuries during the later stages of his time at Anderlecht), and it was during this spell where he made his debut for the Dutch national team. On April 27th 1983 he played the full game in a 0-3 loss against Sweden. He next joined KV Mechelen in 1986. In his first season they immediately won the Belgian cup, and in the subsequent season they even won the Europacup 1 by beating Ajax in the final. Mechelen would develop into the best team in the country, winning the league and eventually also the UEFA Super Cup against PSV. He would play 3 more matches for the Dutch national team as a player for KV Mechelen. Unfortunately the decline set in as succescoach Aad de Mos left for Anderlecht and Mechelen started to get into financial trouble. At 33-years old he made the transfer to KV Kortrijk. The team relegated to the second division and after one season Hofkens returned to the Netherlands, specifically AZ'67 (AZ Alkmaar), playing in the second tier. After a midtable finish Hofkens retired his playing career. He would have a very long career as a coach, mainly in Belgium
- Rob Reekers, debut in 1988 Rob Reekers was born in in Enschede, in 1966. At the age of 16, he joined the FC Twente youth academy. In the 3 years he spent there he would never make his debut for the first team. When he left FC Twente he initially moved to ASC Schöppingen from the Oberliga Westfalen, at the time the 3rd tier in Germany. With this team he became league champions, and the next season he moved to VfL Bochum. His previous team was an amateur team, while VfL Bochum was fully professional. In his time at the club he would become a regular member of the first team and an important player. So much so that during this time he garnered the attention of the national team. In total he would play 4 friendly matches for the Dutch team, with his debut coming in 1988 against Italy, which they unfortunately lost 1-0. The 3 other opponents were Israel (0-2 victory), Denmark (2-2 draw), and Brazil (0-1 loss), with starts coming against Italy and Brazil, while he was substituted into the game against the other 2 opponents. In 1994 Reekers was experiencing back problems, which ultimately saw him be released by Bochum. He would join FC Gütersloh, with which he won promotion to the 2. Bundesliga in his first season at the club. He would stay at the club until it folded in 2000. By this time, he has already received his coaching certificates. He went on to become assistant coach at Rott-Weiss Oberhausen, a 2. Bundesliga club. After 3 seasons he left to become head coach of the newly formed FC Gütersloh. After 2 seasons without promotion from the Oberliga Westfalen, his contract would not be renewed. In 2005 he would return to FC Twente to become the coach of a youth team. The next year he opened a football school, where he and partner Frank Eulderink gave courses in football technique to kids 7-12.
- Jordi Cruijff, debut in 1996 Jordi Cruijff was born on February 19th, 1974, while his father Johan was an FC Barcelona player. As a youth player, Jordi would join the Ajax academy in 1981. In 1988 the family moved to FC Barcelona, where his dad would become the head coach. Jordi made his professional debut for the Barcelona B team. He made his debut for the first team in the 1994-95 season. When Johan was fired at the end of the season in 1996, Jordi also left the Spanish club. He moved to Manchester United. 1996 was also the year in which he made his debut for the Dutch national team. In fact, all of his 9 matches for the national team came in the 1996 calendar year. In 4 years, during which he was loaned to Celta de Vigo for half a season, he came to 34 matches in Manchester. After his unsuccesful stint at Manchester United he went back to Spain, to join Deportive Alavés. At this club he would experience the most success, among which was the UEFA Cup final run, which they ultimately lost 5-4 to Liverpool after extra time. After Alavés relegated in 2003, he moved to Espanyol. During the season he suffered a number of quite serious injuries, which resulted in his contract not being renewed and him leaving. He was a free agent until 2006. At this point he joined Metalurh Donetsk. He arrived at this club after contact with Ángel Alonso, who was the coach of the Ukranian team and a former coach of the Catalan national team. A team which Cruijff also played for. He played here for 2 years and then left to become playeassistant coach for Valletta FC on Malta. A duo role he held for one season, at which point he ended his active playing career. He would coach in Israel, China, Equador, and China again. He would also hold executive positions in Cyprus and Israel. He is currently the sporting director of FC Barcelona.
- Jerrel Hasselbaink, debut in 1998 Jerrel "Jimmy Floyd" Hasselbaink was born in Suriname in 1972. He moved to the Netherlands when he was a child, and started his career in professional football in the youth academy of second tier SC Telstar. His debut season saw him playing a total of 4 matches. However, during this season he made a transfer to AZ Alkmaar, with which he ended 4th in the second tier. He would play 46 matches in Alkmaar and score a total of 5 goals. Initially, he was not able to find a home at another professional club, so he returned to Dutch amateur football for a while. In the 1995/96 season, he moved to Portugal to join Campomaiorense, playing in the top tier. This season he played 31 matches, scoring 12 goals. Unfortunately the club relegated to the second tier. Hasselbaink would not join them though, as he would make a transfer to Boavista FC. He scored 20 goals in 29 leage matches and he won the Portuguese cup. In June 1997 Leeds United bought him for 2 million pounds. Hasselbaink scored 16 goals in his first Premier League season, and the following season he would become joined top scorer with 18 goals (together with Dwight Yorke and Michael Owen). Leeds managed a 4th position Premier League finish. His performances for Leeds saw him getting called up for the national team. The striker made his debut in a 0-0 draw against Cameroon. In total he would play 23 games, scoring 9 goals. After 2 years he left Leeds United, after a disagreement about contract extension. He would join Atletico Madrid. 1999/2000 was Hasselbainks most productive season, scoring 32 goals in 41 matches across all competitions. Unfortunately Atletico would finish 19th and relegate to the second division. Chelsea meant his return to England, for a then club record fee of 24 million pounds. He immediately became topscorer of the Premier league with 23 goals. Equalling that tally the following season, his production slowed down over the following years. Although he did still become the club topscorer in 03/04. After 177 matches and 87 goals, Chelsea let him live on a free transfer, despite an ongoing contract. Next he joined Middelsbrough FC. In the 3 years he played there, the club would play, and lose a UEFA Cup final. In 2006 he signed for Charlton Athletic. This season he would only score 2 goals. This was the first time he scored less than 10 goals in a season since 1995. Charlton relegated and chose not to renew his contract. In 2007 he signed for Championshiop club Cardiff City. In september of 2008 he put an end to his playing career, after disagreements with th club management. He went on to become a coach, mainly in England.
- Nathan Aké, debut in 2017 Nathan Aké was born in Den Haag in 1995. His first professional club was ADO Den Haag. He joined their youth academy in 2003, and left for the Feyenoord youth academy in 2007. In 2011 he made a move to Chelsea, where he was immediately named most promising youth player of the season. He made his debut in London in December 2012 under Rafael Benitez. He replaced Juan Mata in the 91st minute of a game against Norwich City. His first start came in a February 27th FA Cup game versus Middlesbrough. He played 90 minutes and the team won 0-2. In the coming years his games were few and far between, and in 2015 he was loaned out to Reading FC. He only played 5 matches in the Championship. Next season he was loaned out to newly promoted Watford. As a first 11 player, he played 26 matches in the starting line up in the Premier League. In June of 2016 he was loaned out to Bournemouth. They would recall him in January after they were impressed by his performances. They would rarely play him for the rest of the season though. At the end of the season he would make the permanent move to Bournemouth. In 5 years he played 17 matches for Chelsea., who played a club record fee for him. In 3 seasons he played 109 matches. When the team relegated to the Championship, Manchester City bought him for 45 million pounds. Manchester City is his current club. Aké made his debut for the Netherlands in a friendly against Morocco in 2017. So far he has played 36 matches, scoring 5 goals.
- Timothy Fosu-Mensah, debut in 2017 Timothy Fosu-Mensah was born in Amsterdam, and joined the Ajax youth academy. After a good performance at the annual Future Cup, Manchester United expressed interest in the player. He joined the English club in the summer of 2014. He made his first team debut in 2016 against Arsenal, under coach Louis Van Gaal. In the 55th minute he replaced left back Marcos Rojo. In the next match against Watford he was given his starting debut. In 2017 United loaned him out to Crystal Palace for a season, and it was in this period where he made his debut for the Dutch national team. A World Cup qualification match against France was lost 4-0. The following season he was loaned to Fulham. In 2021 he made a transfer to Bayern Leverkusen. Throughout his career he has suffered multiple knee injuries. He has 3 caps on his name so far. 2 starting and one substitute appearance
- Mark Flekken, debut in 2022 Mark Flekken was born in Kerkrade in 1993. He joined the Roda JC Kerkrade youth academy, but left it in 2009 to join Alemannia Aachen. He has spent his entire professional career playing in Germany. In January 2013 he became the first choice goalkeeper for Alemannia Aachen, although in the summer he left the team for SpVgg Greuther Fürth. Here he was the 3rd goalkeeper for the first team. In 2016 he left for MSV Duisburg. For this team he actually scored a goal in an away game against VfL Osnabrück (1-1 end result). They promoted to the 2. Bundesliga in 2017. In 2018 he moved to Bundesliga club SC Freiburg, where he predominantly was the second choice goalkeeper, for the first two seasons. He was set to be the first choice for the 20/21 season, but a long term elbow injury prevented this. The following season he got to play, and he was so good that he was named the second best goalkeeper of the first half of the season by Kicker. These performances saw him called up for the Dutch national team twice, before ultimately making his debut in March 2022 in a friendly match against Denmark. He has played a handful of matches so far.
So, that's the main list! I hope some of you found it interesting, and that it was not *too* long. With that in mind though the second list is going to be a bit shorter so as to not keep you here all day

2023.03.30 20:22 MuvHugginInc Anti-Authoritarian Mental Wellness #001: How Understanding Your Own Core Values Contributes to Positive Mental Wellness and Overall Life Satisfaction
Introduction
Research has consistently demonstrated a strong connection between values, mental health, and overall well-being. By reviewing relevant literature, this article highlights the mechanisms through which the comprehension of core values contributes to greater mental wellness and life satisfaction.
Understanding one's core values has a profound effect on an individual's mental health and overall life satisfaction. Core values are the guiding principles that underpin our actions, decisions, and motivations (Schwartz, 2012). When individuals recognize and align their actions with their core values, they tend to experience greater mental wellness, improved well-being, and increased satisfaction in life. This article reviews the mechanisms that connect the understanding of core values to positive mental health outcomes.
Authenticity and Congruence
Living in alignment with one's core values fosters authenticity, the genuine expression of oneself (Harter, 2002). Research has shown that people who are authentic and congruent with their values experience lower levels of stress, anxiety, and depression (Wood et al., 2008). In addition, authenticity is related to higher levels of self-esteem, emotional intelligence, and psychological well-being (Ryan & Deci, 2001). By understanding and embracing their core values, individuals can cultivate authenticity and reduce psychological distress.
Meaning and Purpose
Understanding one's core values helps in developing a sense of meaning and purpose in life. According to the Self-Determination Theory (Ryan & Deci, 2000), fulfilling the basic psychological needs of autonomy, competence, and relatedness contributes to intrinsic motivation and well-being. When individuals pursue goals that are aligned with their core values, they are more likely to satisfy these psychological needs, leading to a greater sense of purpose and enhanced mental wellness (Deci & Ryan, 2008).
Decision-Making and Goal Setting
Recognizing and incorporating core values into the decision-making process promotes a sense of control and satisfaction in life. Research indicates that individuals who base their decisions on personal values experience less regret, decreased decisional conflict, and increased satisfaction with their choices (Sparks et al., 2011). Furthermore, value-congruent goal setting has been linked to improved motivation, persistence, and achievement (Sheldon & Kasser, 1998). Thus, understanding core values can significantly enhance the quality of decision-making and goal-setting processes.
Resilience and Coping
A strong understanding of core values can also bolster resilience and coping abilities. Studies have demonstrated that individuals who possess a clear sense of their values are better equipped to cope with stress and adversity (Oyserman et al., 2007). This resilience, in turn, is linked to enhanced mental health and life satisfaction (Southwick et al., 2014). By understanding and embracing their core values, individuals can develop effective coping strategies and better navigate life's challenges.
Social Relationships and Support
Finally, understanding one's core values can enhance social relationships and support systems. Individuals who share similar values tend to form stronger connections and experience greater levels of trust, cooperation, and empathy (Stürmer et al., 2006). These high-quality social relationships contribute to improved mental health and life satisfaction (Holt-Lunstad et al., 2010). By comprehending their core values, individuals can cultivate meaningful relationships that foster psychological well-being.
Conclusion
The understanding of one's core values plays a vital role in promoting mental wellness and overall life satisfaction. Through cultivating authenticity, fostering a sense of meaning and purpose, enhancing decision-making and goal setting, bolstering resilience, and strengthening social relationships, individuals can significantly improve their mental health and overall well-being. It is essential for all individuals to recognize the importance of core values in the pursuit of personal growth and fulfillment. By fostering self-awareness and supporting the exploration and alignment of core values, individuals can optimize their mental wellness and experience a greater sense of satisfaction in life.
Future Research Directions
While the current literature provides robust evidence for the role of core values in mental wellness and life satisfaction, there are several avenues for future research. Longitudinal studies can provide deeper insights into the causal relationships between value comprehension and mental health outcomes. Additionally, investigating the effectiveness of values-based interventions in diverse populations and settings could broaden our understanding of the therapeutic potential of understanding core values.
Implications for Practice
The understanding and alignment of core values hold promise for mental health interventions and overall well-being promotion. Mental health practitioners should consider incorporating values-based approaches, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT; Hayes et al., 2006), into their clinical practice to facilitate the exploration and integration of core values. Additionally, educational institutions can support value comprehension by incorporating values education programs that foster self-awareness, self-reflection, and values-based decision-making.
In conclusion, understanding one's core values is a critical factor in promoting mental wellness and life satisfaction. The mechanisms through which core values contribute to well-being underscore the need for continued research, practice, and education focused on cultivating self-awareness and value alignment in individuals. By embracing the importance of core values, we can foster a more mentally resilient and fulfilled society.
Thank you for reading.

Abstract
Context: In active individuals with femoroacetabular impingement (FAI), the resultant reduction in functional range of motion leads to high impaction loads at terminal ranges. These increased forces result in compensatory effects on bony and soft tissue structures within the hip joint and hemipelvis. An algorithm is useful in evaluating athletes with pre-arthritic, mechanical hip pain and associated compensatory disorders.
Evidence acquisition: A literature search was performed by a review of PubMed articles published from 1976 to 2013.
Level of evidence: Level 4.
Results: Increased stresses across the bony hemipelvis result when athletes with FAI attempt to achieve supraphysiologic, terminal ranges of motion (ROM) through the hip joint required for athletic competition. This can manifest as pain within the pubic joint (osteitis pubis), sacroiliac joint, and lumbosacral spine. Subclinical posterior hip instability may result when attempts to increase hip flexion and internal rotation are not compensated for by increased motion through the hemipelvis. Prominence of the anterior inferior iliac spine (AIIS) at the level of the acetabular rim can result in impingement of the anterior hip joint capsule or iliocapsularis muscle origin against the femoral head-neck junction, resulting in a distinct form of mechanical hip impingement (AIIS subspine impingement). Iliopsoas impingement (IPI) has also been described as an etiology for anterior hip pain. IPI results in a typical 3-o'clock labral tear as well as an inflamed capsule in close proximity to the overlying iliopsoas tendon. Injury in athletic pubalgia occurs during high-energy twisting activities in which abnormal hip ROM and resultant pelvic motion lead to shearing across the pubic symphysis.
Conclusion: Failure to recognize and address concomitant compensatory injury patterns associated with intra-articular hip pathology can result in significant disability and persistent symptoms in athletes with pre-arthritic, mechanical hip pain.

| So I did an IG deep dive. I unfollowed her a long time ago but something just told me to go way back. It’s honestly so sad that this girl has the platform that she does. Her old posts, and I mean like 2018 & earlier, she openly admits that she’s got a problem with eating disorders & her weight (last photo). She’s clearly not healed. Not healthy. Not mentally stable. Shouldn’t be offering any kind of advice to her followers because she is still obsessed with what she does/doesn’t eat. Shame on her mom/family for not getting her the help that she needs. Watch John Wick: Chapter 4 Online Free On 720p, 1080p, and 4k Available.
John Wick 4 is finally here. Find out how to stream the Keanu Reeve’s action franchise movie John Wick: Chapter 4 online for free.
Over the course of three films so far, we’ve seen the consequences of what can happen when one of the world’s greatest hitmen comes out of retirement. John Wick, AKA Baba Yaga or The Boogeyman, is a man who is not to be trifled with under any circumstances, yet criminals can never seem to learn their lesson. This incredibly popular series began with John (Keanu Reeves) seeking revenge on the men that invaded his home, stole his car, and worst of all, killed his puppy, Daisy. From here, endless complications have prevented John from returning to retirement as he has traveled around the world and gone on the run. Now, in John Wick: Chapter 4 (2023), we’ll get to witness the titular hitman’s greatest challenge yet as he seeks revenge on the High Table. A council of highly respected (and feared) crime lords, they run the criminal underworld’s most powerful and notorious organizations; so needless to say, John has a punishing task ahead of him.
Chad Stahelski’s sequel impressively outdoes the critical success of its predecessors, with John Wick: Chapter 4’s positive reviews being the best of the franchise. The movie already holds a Certified Fresh 93% score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, which is higher than the two sequels’ 89% scores and the original’s 86% rating. John Wick: Chapter 4 is also expected to be the franchise’s biggest box office success yet, meaning it’s apt to enjoy a long exclusive theatrical window before releasing on streaming.
If you’re excited to see where this highly anticipated action series goes next, we’ve got good news for you, because the latest installment is clocking in at a massive 169 minutes. It’s also out incredibly soon! Keep reading below to find out when and where you can see John Wick: Chapter 4.
Here’s your guide on how you can watch the highly anticipated action movie John Wick 4 streaming, the latest installment in the John Wick franchise.
When Is John Wick: Chapter 4 Release Date?
John Wick: Chapter 4 will first debut exclusively in theaters on Friday, March 24, 2023. It’s hard to believe that this is nearly two years later than its originally intended release date of May 21, 2021!
If you would rather wait to watch it from the comforts of home, keep reading below, so you can learn more about the movie’s streaming and home media release details.
Where to watch John Wick 4:
As of now, the only way to watch John Wick 4 is to head to a theater when it releases on Friday, March 24. You can find a local showing on Fandango. Otherwise, you’ll just have to wait for it to become available to rent or buy on digital platforms like Vudu, Paramount, Apple and YouTube, or become available to stream on Peacock.
Following its release in theaters, the film will be available to stream on Prime Video. Expect the movie to hit the streamer 45 days after its theatrical run, which should be sometime in May. it’s most likely that Peacock will be the main platform that will stream John Wick: Chapter 4.
Is John Wick 4 Available Streaming on Peacock?
Not Now,Lionsgate struck a massive distribution deal with Peacock that gives the streaming service exclusive rights to its films’ “Pay 2” streaming window (via THR). The agreement means that after Lionsgate’s films have their initial streaming releases on Starz, the movies, like John Wick: Chapter 4, will later be available to stream on Peacock. Since Lionsgate hasn’t even confirmed the official streaming release date for the John Wick sequel on Starz, don’t expect to see the movie land on Peacock until at least winter 2024 after the deal officially kicks in.
Pay 1 windows typically last between a year to 18 months, meaning that if John Wick: Chapter 4 begins streaming on Starz in September 2023, it isn’t likely to join Peacock’s movie library until September 2024 at the earliest. Peacock and Lionsgate’s deal confirmed that releases like John Wick: Chapter 4 would start streaming on the service in 2024, so the latest movie will most likely be on Peacock in fall 2024. By this time, John Wick: Chapter 4 will be available alongside the entire John Wick franchise for streaming on the platform.
Will John Wick 4 be on Netflix?
No, John Wick 4 will not be available on Netflix — at least not anytime soon, since it will be heading straight to Peacock after its theatrical release. In the meantime, you’ll just have to wait for it to become available on the NBCUniversal-owned streaming platform.
Is John Wick 4 streaming on HBO Max?
John Wick 4 is expected to stream on HBO Max at some point after its theatrical run. No official streaming release date for the movie has yet been given, but as it comes from Warner Bros., it will likely arrive on the platform after its cinematic debut barring some unprecedented events or a unique deal.
Is John Wick 4 Available On Hulu?
Viewers are saying that they want to view the new movie John Wick 4 on Hulu. Unfortunately, this is not possible since Hulu currently does not offer any of the free episodes of this series streaming at this time. It will be exclusive to the MTV channel, which you get by subscribing to cable or satellite TV services. You will not be able to watch it on Hulu or any other free streaming service.
Is John Wick 4 streaming on Prime Video?
Amazon Prime Video subscribers might be disappointed because ‘John Wick 4’ is not a part of the streaming giant’s library. Alternatively, you have the option to turn to similar films using your subscription, including ‘Smile,’ ‘Bram Stoker’s Dracula,’ ‘Let the Right One In.’
The bad news is that the movie is not likely to come to Prime Video. Paramount Pictures movies used to head to Amazon Prime Video about a year after the theatrical release, but that’s changed with a lot of movies recently. Instead of heading to Prime Video, they’ve gone to Paramount+.
Is John Wick 4 Streaming Online?
Well, not right now. In terms of the streaming release, John Wick 4 will most likely follow the 45-day theatrical window before being available to stream online. Due to Peacock’s multi-billion dollar acquisition of Lionsgate (the franchise’s production company), it’s most likely that Peacock will be the main platform that will stream John Wick 4.
How To Watch John Wick Online
Soon to be four entries long, the John Wick franchise continues to deliver crowd-pleasing and action-packed times for audiences. So, with the newest installment being released very soon, now is the perfect time to head back to the beginning and relive John’s journey!
Whether you’re already a superfan of the series or want to watch them all for the very first time, you’re in luck because the films are easy to find. The original John Wick (2014), John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017), and John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum (2019) are all available for streaming right now on Peacock. However, they are all set to leave the service on April 1, 2023. 2023.03.30 19:52 LIS1050010 Smart Ways to Conserve Water During Drought (or Anytime)
Water is life.
All good disaster planning includes water storage for a temporary disruption, but what if a prolonged drought forces you to take extreme measures? What are
ways to conserve water over weeks, months, or even years?
Lessons From Cape Town, South Africa
In 2017, in Cape Town, South Africa,
residents were required to restrict their water use to 50 litres (13 gallons) per person per day during a severe drought.
That included:
- drinking
- flushing
- garden
- hygiene
- dishes
- and laundry
In contrast, most Americans use between 70-100 gallons of water daily!
Residents of Cape Town and other drought survivors devised clever ways to conserve water in extreme drought that we can learn from as many parts of our country dry out. We’ll cover those later in detail.
But first…
We Are Currently Headed Towards Our Own Water Disaster
If you follow the news, you probably heard that
Lake Powell’s water level is so low that its hydroelectric plant is in danger of shutting down.
This is unprecedented.
Lake Powell has sunk to
28% of capacity.
Its sister reservoir, Lake Mead, is down to 26% of capacity. This may be uninteresting to you unless you are one of the
40 million people that receive their water from these reservoirs. That’s 13% of the US population.
If you are one of these unlucky ones, expect unprecedented water restrictions in the coming months and years. Unfortunately, other areas may not be far behind.
Drought Conditions are Widespread
Drought conditions are not restricted to California and Arizona.
40% of the United States, including all western states from Montana down to Texas, is currently experiencing some form of drought. 25% of that is categorized as Extreme or Exceptional Drought. (
See Drought.gov).
Perhaps even more disturbing is the impact of drought on the farms and ranches in the west. California grows over a third of our country’s vegetables and two-thirds of its fruits and nuts. Drought conditions that impair the ability of California farmers to grow the crops needed will only add to our country’s food source instability.
Ultimately, drought conditions will impact all of us directly or indirectly. So what can we as individuals do to conserve this precious resource?
These water conservation tips range from “no brainers” to radical, worst-case-scenario. You may not be prepared to use all of them now, but establishing good practices prepares you in case your water supply diminishes.
Easy Ways to Save Water and Money
We are meant to be good stewards of our planet and resources.
Water doesn’t need to be scarce in your area for you to use it wisely. The following ideas are “low-hanging fruit” that still result in significant water savings. Moreover, these are so simple as to rise to the level of common sense.
Pick one or three and start including them in your daily routine.
- Install low-flow shower heads. This is super easy, and you won’t even notice a difference. Some towns and cities even provide them for free.
- Don’t run the water while you brush your teeth or are shaving. Duh.
- Defrost meat in the microwave or in the fridge overnight instead of in water.
- Put a pitcher of cold water in your fridge so you don’t waste water waiting for it to cool.
- Clean vegetables and fruits in a bowl of water instead of under the faucet.
- Scrape dishes into the garbage or compost and skip using the garbage disposal to save water. Keep a small compost bin in the kitchen to make this easier and more automatic.
- A dishwasher is generally more water-efficient than washing dishes by hand. However, if you need to wash dishes by hand, fill a second sink or container with water for rinsing.
- Make sure dishwashers and clothes washers are full before starting a load.
- When washing clothes, match the water level to the load’s size.
- Take shorter showers. Set a timer to keep everyone in the family aware of water usage.
- Water your lawn at night. This reduces evaporation of water.
- Use a broom to clean your driveway or sidewalk instead of hosing it down.
- Don’t let the hose run when washing your car. Instead, install a spray nozzle or turn it off until done soaping.
- Insulate hot water pipes so you don’t have to wait as long for hot water.
- Check for AND FIX leaks around toilets, sinks, and pipes.
- Even if you don’t suspect a leak, put a couple of drops of food coloring in your toilet tank. If the water in the bowl changes color without flushing, you have a sneaky leak in your toilet.
- Never pour water down the drain when there could be another use for it, like your pet’s water bowl or watering house plants.
Ways to Conserve Water During a Drought
If your region is consistently dry (as mine is) or if conditions cause water levels to be lower than normal, you may need to take more drastic water-saving measures.
Some of these require changes in habits, and some require spending money. However, all of them result in real water savings, especially collectively.
- Install sink aerators. They mix air into your water, so you don’t notice a lower water flow.
- Install water-efficient toilets. You can save literal gallons with each flush with newer models.
- If you have an older toilet and aren’t ready to replace it, you can place a brick, rock, or bottle filled with gravel into your toilet tank. This fools your toilet into using less water to flush. Ingenious!
- Staying with a toilet theme, don’t feel you have to flush every time you tinkle. 🙂
- Cut your showers short. You can install a timer in your shower to remind you to keep it to 5 minutes or less. Depending on your water flow, a shower uses 2-5 gallons a minute, so every minute counts.
- If you absolutely need to take a bath, only partially fill the tub.
- Boil food in as little water as possible. You only need to just cover pasta or potatoes.
- Place a steamer over boiling pasta and steam your vegetables. 2 in 1.
- Save the water from cooking food and recycle it in other cooking or on your garden. That goes the same for water from canned vegetables.
- Designate one water glass for each family member and just use the one for the day to save on washing dishes.
- Plant drought-resistant trees and plants.
- Mulch around your garden, trees, and plants to retain moisture longer. Also, read about ways to garden in droughts.
- Cover pools.
Radical Ways to Conserve Water During Extreme Drought
There may come a time when nearly everything you do is focused around conserving precious water. The following ideas came from the personal experiences of a Cape Town resident and the personal account of long-time prepper, Jim Acosta, during a 2014 drought in California.
- Think every time you open a tap and shut it off as soon as possible.
- Put a bowl in every sink to catch water and then use it to flush toilets or, if it’s clean, in the garden or laundry.
- Put a bucket in your shower to catch the water as it heats up. This is clean water, so you can use it for any purpose.
- Put an instant hot water heater under your sink, so you don’t have to run water to warm it.
- Put a greywater catchment system in your house. This method pumps or pipes water from sinks, showers, and laundry into grey water tanks or directly onto your lawn or plants. This is not safe for gardens but can be used to water trees, plants, and lawns. Greywater can also be used to flush toilets. Here is just one of many ways to build a greywater catchment.
- Turn off the inlet valves on your toilet and use buckets of grey water to flush them.
- Switch to biodegradable soaps and shampoos to make grey water safer for plants.
- Limit showers to 90 seconds (apparently, this can actually be done).
- Use biodegradable wipes, sponge baths, and dry shampoos instead of showers.
- Wash clothes less. Use a soak cycle when you wash them to help clean them.
- Capture rainwater using barrels, tanks, or pools. You can use rainwater for toilets or laundry.
Real-life Examples from Cape Town, South Africa
One Survival Mom reader, Andre, who hails from Cape Town, had this to say in 2018
when Cape Town was experiencing one of the most extreme modern-day droughts in history:
“We need at LEAST 450 million liters of water per day at the lowest possible usage. We are currently at about 540 million liters per day. What people are missing, this coming season is there must be enough rain to not only supply the current need, but enough to fill the dams to cover the 2018/2019 summer period, too. What are the chances of that after three years of the worst possible drought, due to a high-pressure system not budging on the West Coast of Africa, keeping our rains away? Cape Town and its surrounds are a huge contributor to the South African economy so if the rains stay away and we do run out of water, it can trigger an event to bring the entire country down if we cannot sort desalination in bulk, and that takes 2-3 years to put into place.”
Two Ways to Think About Water Conservation During Drought
Ultimately, Cape Town residents banded together and, in the millions, worked toward conserving every drop possible.
Here’s how they did it, according to Andre:
“
There are two ways to think about conserving water in a drought: - WANTS – Throw lots of money at the problem like water tanks for your house, expensive filters, and all that.
- NEEDS – Be very wise financially, buy things secondhand to save money, and think about each liter of water used.
The Biggest Problem During Extreme Drought May Not Be What You Think
The core problem I identified is not drinking water. That’s easy to buy in bulk and store.
The problem is sewage water. If you don’t flush that toilet, you will face some serious problems, not to mention smells.
So, here is what we did: - Rule 1: No baths ever, and shower only when you have to.
- Rule 2: No watering the garden.
- Rule 3: Catch all water used.
- Rule 4: Wear clothes longer. If you sweat a lot, rinse your clothes whilst waiting for the shower to get hot.
- Rule 4: All cisterns can only be filled with buckets. Closed the taps on all of them.
Before you open any tap, think! Then open the tap very small and close it ASAP. Catch that water for toilet use. Every drop adds up during the day.
Use Showers Strategically to Flush the Toilet
Invest in wet wipes and dry shampoo to be able to skip showers. Catch all the shower water in a bucket used for flushing the toilet only.
But, here’s the thing with showering.
You have to use the toilet, right? You can shower as quickly as you can, 90 seconds as advised, BUT
if you run out of toilet water, you defeat saving shower water.
So use just enough shower water so that you can flush your toilet for the days you don’t shower.
Help the Dishwasher Save Water
Ensure your dishwasher uses less than 5 liters (1.32 gallons) per wash for dishwashing.
Strategies like
water-efficient loading, eco-settings, and more can help your dishwasher save water.
The Washing Machine: The Biggest User
In the end, after all the above was done, the washing machine was left being the biggest user. A full load in the washing machine uses about 150-200 liters (39-52 gallons.) Now, you can spend a lot of money and buy one that uses less water, or always use a full load using the soaking cycle so that the clothes can soak properly, or you can wear clothes longer in-between washes.
So, we first caught the rinse water and then re-used it for the next load’s washing water. Then we stopped the rinsing cycle by simply changing the detergent we used. We now could wash more frequently.
We were able to catch a few liters of rain one day, so we started using rainwater for washing clothes. Using that rainwater, we did not use any drinking water for three washes with all that greywater used for toilets.
That was the best day ever!
We add HTH (pool chlorine) to the grey water stored in drums to ensure no smell. It works quite well.
Now, you can add pumps and pipes to transport water from one place to another, or you can get some exercise and fetch the water with a bucket for the toilets. We chose the exercise option.
The Results of Andre’s Family’s Efforts to Conserve Water
Before this drought all started, we used 25 kiloliters (6,604 gallons) per month for six people in our household. When we had to limit our usage to 50 liters (13 gallons) per person per day, through all these efforts,
we dropped to a total of 5000 liters (1,320 gallons) per month for our entire six-person household. Four of us work from home.
Ultimately, the residents of Cape Town lowered their city’s water usage to about 510 million liters per day, down from 1.2 billion liters just three years earlier. As Andre said, “Low-cost changes with a massive impact on our usage.”
Conclusion
Water is a precious resource. And whether you’re experiencing drought conditions or not, there are lifestyle changes you can make right now to be a better steward of our water supply.
A side benefit for us all, especially preppers, is that the water-saving measures necessary during disasters will be second nature to you.
Feel free to comment with your innovative ideas to conserve water during a drought.

2023.03.30 19:52 researcherofstories Religious Coercive Control in the Homeschooling Community
I’m an ex-Homeschooled girl who grew up in fundamentalism and ATI/IBLP/Bill Gothard. I’ve since gone to secular college and graduate school, gotten a masters, gotten married, had children, and worked as a therapist. I have experienced so many changes, but I am still recovering from my homeschool experience.
At present, I’m training to become a Counselling Psychologist and completing my Doctor of Psychology at a secular university. As part of this, I’m researching religious coercive control. I was inspired to do this after sharing my own story of emergence from fundamentalism on a podcast and finding the process very healing. I truly believe these stories need to be told. I’m currently looking for about 10 volunteers to participate in an interview study (via a brief screening call and then via zoom). Any information shared will be anonymised and deidentified in compliance with ethical guidelines.
If you are interested in participating or learning more, please message me. 😊
Official Recruitment Notice:
HAVE YOU EXPERIENCED RELIGIOUS COERCIVE CONTROL IN YOUR FAMILY OF ORIGIN?
This study seeks participants who have experienced religious coercive control in their families of origin under circumstances where religion was used to coercively control or manipulate them in various aspects of their lives. Participants will be adult women aged 18 or over who are Christian or ex-Christian who experienced religious coercive control, and who are no longer living in the environment where they experienced religious coercive control.
As a participant in this study, you will be invited to share your experiences of religious coercive control in an interview expected to last 60-90 minutes. It will involve talking about your experience of religious coercive control and what this means to you.
For the purpose of the study, religious coercive control is a specific type of coercive control applicable to religious communities and settings. It involves the use of religious beliefs, values, and doctrines by those in power to maintain control or coerce others to do things against their will (e.g., by using guilt or shame) and may be subtly disguised as spirituality within religious communities (Adebayo, 2010; Sharp, 2014, p. 1422).
Please note that you will not be selected to participate in this study if: (1) you are under age 18; (2) you identify as male; (3) have not experienced religious coercive control in your family of origin; (4) your emergence from religious coercive control less than five years ago; (5) significant risk factors to participation are identified during a pre-interview screening call.
To take part in this study, or for more information please message directly.

Utopia Has anyone here seen the British TV miniseries
Utopia?
Utopia is a 2013 fictional series aired on Channel 4 about an elite cabal that conspires to sterilize 90 percent of the human population. The members of the cabal believe that human “overpopulation” will cause environmental collapse, endless resource wars and just unimaginable-suffering-in-general, so they decide that the “humane” thing to do is to sterilize most of the human race. The ends justify the means.
The plan is to release a genetically-engineered virus that is a little worse than the common flu, whip the public into a state of terror, then provide the “cure” in the form of a vaccine which will gradually sterilize those who inject it.
There are a number of obvious and eerie parallels with Covid-19.
-It is no secret that some members of the ruling class are pre-occupied with the idea of “over-population.” This has been true since Malthus. There are some really chilling quotes in this regard: eg British Prince Philip, when asked what animal he would like to be reincarnated as, instead of saying a sane thing like "tiger," answered “as a virus, to solve overpopulation.” Bill Gates (whose father was a eugenicist) is pretty open about his desires here too. In his public speeches he stresses the need to provide vaccines and birth control to the “third world.” He also talks about the need to eliminate extreme poverty, though never seems to get around to that particular aspect of his plan. Indeed, during Covid-19, lockdowns drove an estimated 150 million people in the global south into extreme poverty and starvation.
-Poverty and alleged overpopulation are linked in a counter-intuitive way. Materially speaking, children are a “burden,” so one would assume that extremely poor people would try to avoid having them. However academics like Frances Moore Lappe have noted that in the third world, “children are poor people’s source of strength.” Since there is no social security, children are poor people’s version of a social safety net; the children will take care of the parents in their old age.
-The problem with eliminating extreme poverty is that it would require a modest reduction in the wealth of the ruling class, and most of them find that idea unacceptable. Prior to Covid-19 there were actually some significant improvements being made, but the overwhelming majority of that came from China (and I'm not a totalitarian communist, in case anyone's wondering). Pro-capitalist ideologues like Jordan Peterson have attempted to argue that capitalism is gradually eliminating poverty, but this is pure bunk. In this
article by Jason Hickel, titled “Exposing the great ‘poverty reduction’ lie,” he notes that stats on alleged “poverty reduction” in capitalist countries are highly misleading; most of them actually stem from statistical trickery:
By shifting the focus to income levels and switching from absolute numbers to proportional ones, the target became much easier to achieve. Given the rate of population growth, the new goal was effectively reduced by 167 million. And that was just the beginning.
After the UN General Assembly adopted MDG-1, the goal was diluted two more times. First, they changed it from halving the proportion of impoverished people in the world to halving the proportion of impoverished people in developing countries, thus taking advantage of an even faster-growing demographic denominator. Second, they moved the baseline of analysis from 2000 back to 1990, thus retroactively including all poverty reduction accomplished by China throughout the 1990s, due in no part whatsoever to the Millennium Campaign.
Much more at link.
I am skeptical of the claim that Bill Gates is a total fanatic on the issue of “overpopulation.” It seems at least as plausible that his alleged concerns about poverty and birth control in the third world are motivated by his desire to make money via vaccines etc., and that for him it’s more like a hobby/PR campaign than an obsession. Nevertheless, it was reported in 2009 that Gates convened a secret plutocrat meeting in NY to address the issue. They even created a name for themselves:
“the Good Club.” “Described as the Good Club by one insider it included David Rockefeller Jr, the patriarch of America’s wealthiest dynasty, Warren Buffett and George Soros, the financiers, Michael Bloomberg, and the media moguls Ted Turner and Oprah Winfrey.”
Returning back to the TV series
Utopia, the single most chilling line occurs in the first episode. One of the head plutocrats organizing the depopulation scheme (in which a mild, genetically-engineered virus is released, the population whipped up into a frenzy, then a vaccine offered as the solution) notes that they will terrorize the public by using
PCR tests with amplified cycle thresholds.
Sound familiar? Recall the breathless reporting of new “Covid cases” by the corporate/state media, all based on PCR tests. The average physician appears to be completely unaware that the creator of PCR, Kary Mullis, suggested that it should not be used for diagnostic purposes. Are we really supposed to believe that the flu simply disappeared for three years because people started wearing masks? Coronaviruses are different than the flu and this can indeed be tested, but how many tests were done for the flu during “Covid-19”, and how reliable is PCR in distinguishing between “Covid-19” and other coronaviruses? There has been a lot of “fact-checks” done on this issue but none of them are convincing, and indeed at the height of the “pandemic” the NY Times even published an article questioning PCR. The fact remains that we’re expected to entertain an absurdity: that the flu simply disappeared. At one point, the health minister of Ontario even stated that “up to 50 percent” of Covid-positives may be false positives. Strangely, the corporate and state media in Canada didn’t bother to follow up on her comment.
Given the total corruption of the World Health Organization and other “health” bodies such as the CDC and NIH, the only way of assessing the lethality of Covid-19 is through excess mortality stats. What do we find? We find that, indeed, “Covid-19” was never anything more than a bad flu season. The more credulous amongst us will claim “but ten gagillian people died from corvid-19!”, however governments around the world have now admitted that they were “over-counting” Covid deaths. That’s an understatement, to put it mildly. Anyone who died within thirty days of testing positive with PCR was labeled a “Covid” death. These insane guidelines apparently came down from the World Health Organization.
Sweden provides us with a control group. There was no significant excess mortality in Sweden during “Covid-19.” Indeed there was higher excess mortality in a number of years in the past two decades than there was during the supposed “pandemic of the century” in Sweden. British Columbia provides us with another control. Although B.C. embraced forced masking and “vaccine” mandates, there were no lockdowns. A FOIA request found that there was also no significant increase in hospitalizations. There WAS a slight uptick, but even that could be explained by the increase in drug overdoses and a heatwave.
One of the cleverest tricks of Covid-19 was to push this idea of “overflowing hospitals.” What they didn’t bother to tell you is that emergency rooms overflow during every flu season, and that there has been a problem with overflowing hospitals for several decades because old people are living longer. One can go back and look at articles from 2019, 2018, 2017 etc. in the Canadian media lamenting lack of hospital beds in emergency. This is a problem with HEALTHCARE FUNDING, not a virus. Instead of demanding universal healthcare, American and Canadian quasi-leftists demanded forced masking (which, in turns out, was a useless enterprise).
We’re left with the very uncomfortable fact that we were driven into a frenzy over nothing. Well, not
nothing — I’m not prepared to say that there was no virus at all — but again, it was basically just a bad flu season. Be honest: if the television had never told you about “Covid-19”, would you have even noticed?
Let us return to the “Utopia” analogy. We now have several striking points of comparison: a billionaire cabal concerned about “overpopulation”; a relatively mild, genetically engineered virus unleashed on the public; the public whipped into a frenzy by the media via PCR tests using amplified cycle thresholds; the only thing missing is the “sterilization” part…
The reason I decided to write this post is because I came across a rather disturbing article the other day (and I made a post about it here on WOTB): “Thousands of jabbed athletes are developing ‘Turbo-testicular cancer.” Dr. William Makes writes:
”As an Oncologist, I ask how and why. Yes, the COVID-19 vaccine spike protein localizes to the testes, according to the Japanese Pfizer Organ bio-distribution study done with rats. But at 48hr, the ovaries get 40x more LNP-mRNA than testes.
Perhaps the more important point is that the mRNA continues to accumulate in the testes with time. How long and to what degree? We don’t know because Pfizer didn’t look beyond 48hr.
More physical activity means more blood flow, with more mRNA delivered to the heart as well as the testes. So if the myocarditis and sudden cardiac death don’t get you…
Truthfully, we have no idea what the COVID-19 vaccine mRNA does after it deposits in the testes, because Pfizer and Moderna did not conduct any carcinogenicity studies to verify safety.
Among the “conspiracy” crowd, the idea is that the jabs were designed to kill off the majority of the population. References are made to the Georgia Guidestones etc. However, what if it’s just like the “Utopia” series? The people who are “dying suddenly” are just casualties of war, collateral damage. The actual goal is sterilization, not overt genocide. The astute reader may remember a nurse in Slovakia claiming that there were four different concoctions being given under the guise of the “vaccine,” one of which was saline. The astute reader may also remember a dozen or so media reports from a dozen or so countries indicating that saline was “accidentally” being given to people instead of the “vaccine.”
Note that in the
Utopia series, the sterilizing effect takes about a decade to manifest itself. Can drugs do that? Well yes, yes they can. In fact prior to Covid-19, Fauci himself stated that the effects of a new vaccine may not manifest themselves for a decade or longer.
Do I believe that this is what’s happening? Well not necessarily. I'm just trying to keep an open mind.
The typical alternate explanation of Covid-19 goes something like this: DARPA and other military agencies were experimenting with gain-of-function research. Because gain-of-function is so dangerous the Americans outsourced it to China. There was a lab leak. Politicians around the world knew full-well that it came from a lab, and overreacted as a result. Once the second lockdown (after China) happened in Italy, politicians seized upon the opportunity to establish more control over their populations and transfer more money to their sponsors: the super-rich. Trillions of dollars were transferred from the middle and lower classes to the super-rich.
“Covid-19” also allowed everything else — ie the perpetual scandals of the ruling class — to take a back seat. No politician wanted to be perceived as “not doing enough,” so they went too far in the other direction in order to cover their asses. Sweden was the exception. Prominent “leftists” bought into the scam because the propaganda campaign was designed to appeal to notions of “social” rather than “individual” health, and to characterize opponents of the new measures as backward-redneck-science-deniers. Mass hysteria overtook the populace. Once politicians got a taste of this power, they had a very difficult time giving it up, until they were (partially) forced to by the Canadian truckers and similar movements springing up around the world. The media went along with all this both because fear sells and because most of their advertising revenue comes from big Pharma. The WEF crowd viewed it as an ideal opportunity to introduce their “Great Reset.” The rest is history.
I think this narrative does indeed explain most of what happened. But I have certain niggling doubts about sponsorship and end-goals. For example: what about the numerous war games conducted prior to and during Covid-19 by the RockefelleGates etc. Foundations? Why did the President of Belarus claim that the IMF offered him a billion-dollar-loan if he introduced lockdowns? Why did every single world leader who opposed forced “vaccinations” end up dead? Can the desire for profit by big Pharma really explain the most extraordinary propaganda campaign in history? Why do we keep seeing these claims by whistleblowers that the “genetic sequence” to Covid-19 was already known prior to the outbreak?
Interesting questions indeed.
The “sterilization” theory a la
Utopia is not proven, not by a long shot. Most women continue to have babies.
As for the overt depopulation theory, if that was the goal it isn’t working very well. While there is a shocking increase in excess mortality — especially among young people — it’s barely making a dent in human population levels. Perhaps it was just greed and corruption and that’s that. Either way it was the most unethical violation of human rights in history; while figures like the Nazi Dr. Mengele get all the “credit” due to the obscenity and perversity of their hands-on human “experiments,” figures like Fauci kill far, far more people, from a distance, and remain untouched.
If there’s one lesson to be learned, it’s that technocracy doesn’t work. Whether it’s the billionaire freaks at the WEF or your local mad scientist who wants to introduce genetically-modified mosquitos into your environment: it’s all the same
extinction-event-waiting-to-happen. WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE! Yes, but preferably later rather than sooner. And hopefully not on a species level.

(TSXV: AAG) (OTCQB: AAGFF) (the "Company" or "Aftermath Silver") is pleased to announce a new Mineral Resource estimate for the 100% owned Berenguela silver-copper-manganese project in southern Peru ("Berenguela" or the "Project'). The Mineral Resource is reported in accordance with National Instrument 43‐101 ("NI 43‐101") and the estimate was completed by AMC Mining Consultants (Canada) Ltd. ("AMC"). Highlights Publication of this Mineral Resource estimate is a major milestone for the Berenguela project. It represents the culmination of 15 months of work by Aftermath's team in Peru and its consultants. The Mineral Resource Estimate is based on a geological model incorporating data from 386 drill holes including 63 diamond core holes drilled by Aftermath in 2021/2022, and historical drilling data from 32 diamond core and 291 RC holes drilled between 2004 and 2019. The current estimate confirms and expands the previous historical Mineral Resources and is based on the most extensive geological model of the Berenguela deposit to date, which significantly enhances the understanding of the deposit. The company is now proceeding to initiate advanced metallurgical testwork programs on bulk drill core samples from key mineralized domains targeted in its drill program. This testwork will encompass flowsheets for silver, copper and zinc recovery and ultimately identify the potential manganese products including focusing on battery grade manganese sulphate (MnSO4). Ralph Rushton, President of Aftermath Silver, commented: "We're excited to publish this Mineral Resource estimate, with manganese resources now included in addition to substantial silver and copper resources across the Measured, Indicated and Inferred categories. The overall potential value of the resource has been significantly enhanced by the inclusion of manganese. We're now focused on our upcoming metallurgical testwork. We believe that Berenguela may be one of the most significant undeveloped projects in Latin America offering investors exposure to silver and battery metals." Mineral Resource Estimate Table 1. Berenguela Ag-Cu-Mn deposit Mineral Resource as of 31 January 2023 https://preview.redd.it/qva6xldyywqa1.png?width=800&format=png&auto=webp&s=815f42b0512429565327428e5bd613ff933847b5 Notes: - CIM Definition Standards (2014) were used for reporting the Mineral Resources.
- The effective date of the estimate is 31 January 2023.
- The Qualified Person is Dinara Nussipakynova, P.Geo., of AMC Mining Consultants (Canada) Ltd.
- Mineral Resources are constrained by an optimized pit shell using the assumptions in Table 2.
- No dilution or mining recovery applied.
- Silver equivalency (AgEq) formula is AgEq = Ag+ Cu%\121.905+Mn%*22.809+Zn%*41.463 based on the parameters in Table 2.*
- Cut-off grade is 80g/t AgEq.
- Bulk density used was estimated and variable. but averaged 2.30 tonnes/m\*3* for mineralized material and 2.25 tonnes/m\*3* for waste.
- Drilling results up to 13 October 2022.
- Mineral Resources that are not Mineral Reserves do not have demonstrated economic viability.
- The numbers may not compute exactly due to rounding.
- Mineral Resources are depleted for historic mined out material.
- The relative value in the Mineral Resource by metal is as follows, Ag=26% Cu=26%, Mn=44%, Zn=4%.
Source: AMC, (2023). The Mineral Resource estimate used conceptual open pit mining constraints for reporting purposes and is presented in Table 1. Mineral Resources are stated at a cut‐off grade of 80 g/t silver equivalent (AgEq) which equates to a 3.55% manganese equivalent cut-off grade. The relative value in the Mineral Resource by metal is as follows, Ag=26%, Mn=44%, Cu=26%, Zn=4% using metal prices for Agri-MnSO4 which generally trades at a considerable discount to battery grade manganese sulphate. The model is depleted for historical mining activities. The assumptions for the open pit optimization exercise to constrain the Mineral Resource and confirm reasonable prospects for eventual economic extraction are shown in Table 2. Table 2. Assumptions for pit optimization https://preview.redd.it/u94y3mnyywqa1.png?width=800&format=png&auto=webp&s=72d1d642b381d01c89ec48bb09d7af86fce54016 Source: AMC, (2023). Further details supporting the geological model, estimation procedure, sampling and metallurgical testwork will be available in a NI 43-101 technical report. The Technical Report will be posted under the Company's profile at www.sedar.com, the report is well advanced and is expected to be filed on SEDAR within 45 days. Mineral Resource Estimate Details The Mineral Resource estimate is based on a geological model which consisted of data from 386 drillholes including data collected by Aftermath and some from previous drilling. Lithological wireframes were constructed by Rockridge Partnership & Associates (Rockridge) using LeapFrog© software and were used to constrain the interpolation. The five domains were reviewed by the independent Qualified Person ("QP") and were accepted for estimation purposes after minor modification. Rockridge completed an ordinary kriging estimate for the four metals with economic significance: silver, manganese, copper and zinc. Calcium and magnesium, as well as bulk density, were estimated using inverse distance squared. Prior to estimation, drillhole data were composited to an average length of 1.0 m. Capping was evaluated for all variables within each domain and carried out where required. No estimation was carried out outside of the domains. For all domains the parent block size was 10 mE x 10 mN x 5 mRL with sub‐blocking employed. Sub‐blocking resulted in minimum cell dimensions of 2.5 mE x 2.5 mN x 0.05 mRL. Bulk density was based on 509 measurements and was estimated into the block model. The values in the model averaged 2.30 tonnes/m3 for mineralized material and 2.25 tonnes/m3 for waste. Mineral Resource classification was completed by the QP using an assessment of geological and mineralization continuity, data quality and data density. Estimation passes were used as an initial guide for classification. Wireframes were then generated manually to build coherent volumes for the different classes. The block model was classified as Measured, Indicated, and Inferred Mineral Resources as appropriate. The QP has not identified any known legal, political, environmental, or other risks that could materially affect the potential development of the mineral resources. However, it is recognized that there is social unrest in Peru currently. Quality Assurance and Quality Control and Date Verification Aftermath instigated a robust quality assurance/quality control ("QA/QC") program as advised by AMC. The data base for resource estimation consists of historic data as well as data collected by Aftermath. The previous drilling, carried out predominantly by SSR Mining, was validated by twin and replicate holes. Aftermath completed a QA/QC program for their core drilling, covering the period 6 December 2021 to 17 May 2022. In addition, a selection of pulps and coarse rejects from the drilling campaigns managed by previous owners of the Property were re-assayed. The re-assaying programs also included the submission of QA/QC samples. In the QA/QC program certified reference materials ("CRMs"), blanks, and duplicate samples were monitored for Ag, Mn, Cu, and Zn; insertion rates were generally between 5% and 10%. The QP, Dinara Nussipakynova, P.Geo. considers sample preparation, analytical, and security protocols employed by Aftermath Silver to be acceptable. The QP has reviewed the QA/QC procedures used by Aftermath Silver including the use of certified reference materials, blank, duplicate, and umpire data, and considers the assay database to be adequate for Mineral Resource estimation. The QP also carried out data verification both on site and on the database. This included a review of the assay database and collar locations. The QP considers the assay database to be acceptable for Mineral Resource estimation. Geology Mineralization at Berenguela is hosted principally in thickly bedded, folded limestones and dolomitized limestones of mid-Cretaceous age. Several large bodies of black massive, patchy, and fracture-controlled manganese oxide replacement mineralization occur, with associated silver, copper, and zinc enrichment. Mineralisation is stratigraphically localised above a regional detachment zone particularly where footwall horsts coincide with more intense folding of the carbonate hosts. The bulk of the mineralisation is typically preserved as eroded synform remnants, usually exposed at surface and trending 105-120 degrees. Mapping and resource modelling shows the mineralisation to extend for roughly 1,300 m along strike (including a 100 m discontinuity) with a width of 200 to 400 m. Drilling has shown the mineralisation to extend to up to 80 m below surface where preserved. Berenguela is interpreted as a carbonate replacement deposit (CRD) of an unusual hypogene Mn-oxide style localised above a regional detachment zone in a low temperature, oxidising setting. Qualified Person The Mineral Resource estimate, QA/QC review and data verification was completed by Ms Dinara Nussipakynova, P.Geo., Principal Geologist with AMC who is the QP for the purpose of NI 43‐101 for all technical information pertaining to the current Mineral Resource. Aftermath's quality assurance and quality control program was reviewed by the QP who has also reviewed the technical content of this news release for Berenguela and has approved its dissemination. Further details supporting the geological model, estimation procedure and metallurgical testwork will be available in an NI 43‐101 Technical Report disclosing the results of the PEA which will be posted under the Company's profile at www.sedar.com within 45 days. Michael Parker, a Fellow of the AusIMM and a non-independent director of Aftermath, is a non-independent qualified person, as defined by NI 43-101. Mr. Parker has reviewed the technical content of this news release and consents to the information provided in the form and context in which it appears. About Aftermath Silver Ltd. 2023.03.30 19:28 Bruhmangoddman STOP SUCKING T&T's VAGINA! DESPAIR AS I UNVEIL THE GAME'S MOST GLARING FLAW THAT IT SHARES WITH GARBAJ!
In AA3 and AA4, two great games, there is a persistent problem that hampers each of the games' protagonists.
The mentor. Mia Fey for Phoenix Wright, and Phoenix Wright for Apollo Justice. Why this is a problem: Because WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN THE PLAYER CHARACTER IS SIDELINED AND ROBBED OF AGENCY ! Mia is very much equivalent to Phoenix's training wheels. And it's not just T&T, it's the BLOODY TRILOGY! Almost every instance Nick is cornered - boom! Spirit mentor dressed in fanservice attire to da RESCUE! Screw that. We beat White because of her. We prolonged trials because of her. We got Kudo to testify because of her. We got Atmey to spill the beans because of her. We got Diego to acknowledge Nick as a competent person BECAUSE OF HER.Not only that, but Mia having such an important role in the NARRATIVE also sidelines Nick. Who saved Nick and persuaded him to pursue the badge? Edgeworth? WAHAHAHAHAHAA! No, SUCKERS! It was Mia, who saved his a$$ in 2014, when he was one foot in the artistic career, and he seemed like he'd forgotten about Miles. That makes for a technically sweet story and stronger dynamic between the two... But I don't really like it. Also because Nick doesn't get to have his true nemesis, his archenemy in the trilogy. No, Diego is not the man. Neither is Dahlia. No. You wanna know who has a nemesis here? Miles Edgeworth and Mia Fey. INSTEAD OF HAVING NICK DEAL WITH MISGUIDED AFFECTION FOR DOLLIE, THEY SUGARCOATED HIS ERRONEOUS JUDGEMENT and GAVE HIM HER SISTER AS THE TRUE DATE, UNDERMINING ANY CONNECTION BETWEEN THEM! THIS IS UNFORGIVABLE!
Nick doesn't bring Dahlia down, it's Mia! TWICE! Dahlia hates him only because Iris tells her he's an idealist and because he holds a potentially incriminating piece of evidence. That's as arbitrary as the reasons she took down Diego and Valerie for. There's no deeper connection, narrative plotline here. Diego hates Nick and forgives him because of Mia. And because of the retcons, Turnabout Memories has made Phoenix's interactions with Payne and Grossberg post 2014 quite weird.
Nick fails to be a fully competent attorney as well as a person who perseveres against their adversaries and defeats them.Which leads us into Apollo Justice.I'm sure most of you know Takumi never wanted Wright in the game. But upon coercion from Capcom, he did the best and only logical thing he could: Fix Nick and give him a proper, personal story. Whilst sacrificing Apollo!!!
NDWIWD#IDNIRNFNQOWWOEWOEOEWO!!!!!!!
The Horned Head is completely out of his depth here. (He just like me fr fr) Wrighto suddenly takes over his first trial (being the bloody defendant, not even 2014 Phoenix had such a nerve) and just handholds Apollo through Turnabout Trump, doing almost all of the work for him. His Honor, Kristoph and Winston are rightfully losing their freaking minds. Then Nick peaces out and returns for 4-4. Apollo does nothing, really. Nick just does all the investigations for him, obtains vital testimony and evidence, to finally connect all the dots himself. Polly feels like a keyboard Pianist Wright used to type his manifesto of righteous vengeance into Word and then cement it with a seal of Ends Justify the Means. Apollo never learns of his connection to the Gramaryes. He never talks to Drew, Valant, Klavier or Winston about the case because he never meets them or doesn't go to them or never knows what to ask. I don't even know what his relations with Kristoph are. Which game is more excusable in its sin: AJ. Apollo is a rookie, even younger than PW at the start of his path. Meanwhile, 34-year old Nick is a based sigma gigachad with superior logic, rizz and drip. He's such a fantastic piece of visuals and writing mixed together to create the perfect hidden protagonist. The game sins by letting him hijack the plot, but his character and story are the best he's ever been and going to be. Meanwhile, while I like Mia in 3-1 and 3-4, I don't know who she really is. No mentions of her family in her cases, no thoughts on her mentors, zero. Where's the usual great inner monologue? Just the mindset - CATCH DAHLIA. DEFEND CLIENTO. And when she's Phoenix's channeled training wheels, she has cringe and even shady moments, especially in Reunion and Turnabout.
FUCK 2-2 FUCK THIS CASE
That's why Yamazaki based. He brings back the good ol' proactive protagonist, mostly in the flesh of Miles and Apollo. They usually have to work on their own and have an active stake and nemesis in the story. Prosecutor's Path and Spirit of Justice do so many wonders to their characters.

2023.03.30 19:24 Bruhmangoddman Trials and Tribulations vs Apollo Justice: The mentor problem
In AA3 and AA4, two great games, there is a persistent problem that hampers each of the games' protagonists.
The mentor. Mia Fey for Phoenix Wright, and Phoenix Wright for Apollo Justice.
Why this is a problem: Because both Nick and Apollo are both player characters and actual narrative agents within the scope of their respective stories. And so we're presented with a two-fold issue. 1. The overbearing presence of the mentor tends to have the player's hand be held by the game and not let them figure stuff out on their own. 2. The mentor's overly expanded role robs the main character of their agency, development and progression.
Mia is very much equivalent to Phoenix's training wheels. And it's not just T&T, it's the BLOODY TRILOGY! Almost every instance Nick is cornered - boom!
