Most of my abuse was during childhood... And I was a bit of a functional (?) alcoholic most of my teenage and young adult years and only recently started being mostly sober.
Alcohol, alongside my own toxic positivity- never really telling anyone about my abuse- seems to have led me to today: where I don't seem to have clear memories of childhood, especially childhood abuse, at all.
Little things will trigger brief memories and painful or nauseating sensations for me.. but I'd just grab a drink and stay busy with work and friends and exercise. I have a good job, friends, partner, etc. It's usually easy to just focus on the present to restore myself. I'd been sent to therapists, counselors, psychiatrists etc before but just talk my way out of it by saying I'm good.
I do sort of regret that approach now. There are things about my life I wish could be better. I still have disturbed sleep. I do feel in my head most days, and end up having to overexercise every day or work or have a drink to stay positive.
I feel like therapy could help. But everytime I think about it, I just feel like it's too late to do therapy. My memories are so clouded. Especially for years I've explained away my injuries and childhoods with half-truths to divert attention away from them.
Really, the only things I seem to actually remember these days is having been kicked a few times very hard. I have a few weirdly shaped ribs... I got a few missing adult teeth. Having boiled water poured on me where the burn marks still are. Getting so hungry I often overate free restaurant mints and now feel nauseous at the scent of mints.
Basically there's some evidence that helps me with my memory but I don't fully remember the entire argument, or how old I was, or what I was even doing.
I am nervous to do therapy because I fear I'll have nothing to really say, nor really understand how to explain myself to another person in a productive way. And all it'd do is reopen wounds that are mostly patched to the point that I'm mostly functional today.
I guess I'm just curious how people deal with therapy so late in life, and whether it's worth it at all

I’m so damn pissed at myself.. I was doing so well not answering my “friends” messages, not taking her calls, unfollowed her on fb and ig, and when I did respond to her messages they were simple no connection one or two word responses…. And then today hit, she suckered me into a full conversation throughout the day, now I’m getting the drunk “heeeyyyy, or hellllooo bbbaaaaby” bullshit messages just like nothing changed. So disappointed in myself that I broke, and I was actually enjoying that connection again until I realized it was just her plan, that I was a sucker for the lovebomb and hoovering!!! Now back to square one, back to the hurt of losing my friend all over again. FML!

I am getting sick and tired of having to hide who I am from my coworkers and not be myself at work. For reference, I'm a genderfluid transfeminine person and I currently work a government job as a heavy equipment operator. It isn't safe to be out at my job with how conservative everyone is and the rampant transphobia that goes on there.
My problem is that I know the whole industry for construction and equipment operators is very conservative leaning and I'm afraid I won't be able to find a job with my skill set that isn't like that. I'm a heavy equipment operator with a class A CDL, if that's helpful for anyone to know.
My question is if anyone knows of a career path or a job that I could be on the lookout for that would be more accepting of me and allow me to be myself at work?

Baby girl is now 9 weeks old and is refusing to take a bottle. I admit this is my fault as I introduced a bottle at around week 2 and she had no problems taking it. I didn’t keep up with giving her bottles though. Now 7 weeks later, she vehemently REFUSES it. We have made some progress. My husband will turn on the TV to distract her and bounce up and down. She will now play with the nipple in her mouth but will not suckle at all. My pediatrician just told us to keep trying new bottles which isn’t working. Does anyone have any tips or have been through this? I’m scared I’m going to lose my job because I can’t go back till we have this fixed.

I have a dear Friend who moved into our apartment complex after a time of housing insecurity. We advocated for this friend to get them into our close-knit small apartment unit because we knew they would be good for rent and we could support each other by being in the same building. Overall it's been wonderful save for one thing.
Friend has a really sweet senior Shiba Jack Russel terrier mix named Jack. We genuinely love Jack, but since Friend has been going to work in a new job, Jack mournfully howls every. single. time. Friend leave for work- and their bedroom where Jack chills shares a wall with ours. For the past couple of months pretty consistently jack howls for 15-25 minutes when Friend leaves and wakes me up an hour and a half or so before my alarm. I work retail and I'm a designer and really need my sleep to recharge from human interaction lol.
Friend knows this and we have been brainstorming solutions. Friend rides a motorcycle that is parked right outside their window and we discovered that Jack hearing the bike was upsetting him (he loves to ride with Friend) so Friend will push their bike out of the alley to the street before starting and Jack will still bark and howl. Jack is not food motivated so a snuffle treat mat and peanut butter in a Kong have not provided real distraction. We put an audio book on while Friend is gone so it's not quiet and still no luck. Jack obviously is just very distressed by Friend's leaving- previously Friend did not live alone. Friend is very good about walking Jack and getting him outside before and after work.
I feel bad because this is putting a strain on our relationship. Jack has been registered as an emotional support animal which is how he could get in in the first place in our dog-free building. I've noticed lately now that it's warmer and the windows are open Jack is even MORE sensitive to other noises. I've heard him barking at my other neighbors when they are parking, when people come & go in the building, and even at times when I'm playing a podcast through our speaker system in our place. I am growing increasingly worried that our other neighbors (who do not have a friendship with Friend) will start to complain. Since Friend does not have much money and had struggled to get into an apartment, there's been a lot of stress about this.
Can anyone with experience offer some advice? Anyone had a similar situation you were able to resolve? The only thing I can think of is that Friend already wanted a cat... I want to be like GET THE CAT NOW so Jack isn't as lonely lol. Thank you!

I’m currently going through my first ever breakup, coming out of a relationship that lasted more than a year. I was the dumper and my reasons for breaking up were extremely complex. In many ways I didn’t know how to approach or handle a relationship, and since the breakup I’ve been working hard to reflect on the negative patterns that I fell into that impacted the quality of my relationship with my ex as well as the relationship with myself. This process is enlightening and also soul-crushing as I’ve realized that there were so many tools I could have used to set up better lines of communication and increase emotional vulnerability. When I broke up with my ex I crushed them. I stomped on their dreams and hopes for a future between us, I destroyed the trust they had in me, I failed to communicate how much I was struggling and effectively blindsided them; I will never be able to truly know the sort of pain I put them through. Sometimes I forget that I was right to break up with them; that the relationship was never sustainable. They would ignore me when I would talk about my own interests, or what I have been learning about in my studies recently. I mean straight up avoid eye contact and only offer up grunts and one word responses. I stopped standing up for myself and showing up for myself because I was so desperate for their love and attention and I knew I would only get it if I engaged with them in the ways they wanted to be engaged with. I shrank myself to fit into their world and they didn’t bat an eye. All of the ways in which I failed, they also failed. The ways in which I failed to communicate my issues were things that they also fell victim to. Neither of us are bad people with malicious intent, we were just two human beings making human mistakes. It’s important to still be kind to them, to try and see things through their lens, just like I would hope they would do for me. That’s not to be said that everyone is worthy of that kindness, some people are complete assholes! But when you learn to be kinder to your ex and most importantly to yourself, everything will get a little easier. Likely not right now, but the positive impact you can make on the relationship with yourself and with the people around you is priceless and will always outweigh everything bad that resulted from a failed relationship. Maybe you played a big role in the breakup, maybe you played a small one. The only thing for certain is that we can learn from this experience. The one relationship that you will always have is the one with yourself. Life is often messy and unkind and confusing, but that doesn’t mean we should stop trying to be better, however that ends up manifesting. A line that has stuck with me reads, “I let go of what the universe is asking me to release”. You can let go at whatever pace is necessary, but everyday try to breathe out and release some of that hurt, some of that attachment. We make mistakes but we will always still be worthy of love and acceptance. I’ve always hated the idea of focusing your love on yourself after a breakup because I have never felt as if I have a whole lot of love for myself. If you’re struggling to do this, look for that love in the world around you, if you can. It’s in our nature as humans to trip and fall, to stumble or wipe out. Try to find the humor in the world and revel in the absurdity of it. I’ve got a long way to go, but I’m going to make it and you will too. It’s ok to drag your feet or even come to a complete stop, but I hope you learn to skip too. To prance, to dance, to run, to jump, to fly. To whomever has stuck it out this long and read this far, I believe in you. I hope you find your peace.

This is not a new build
I left the house for 10 mins and when I came home I found my PC was turned off. I powered it on and signed in everything was extremely slow so I restarted it and now it only goes into bios and my SSD is not always detected in there.
My SSD finally did show up (in bios) and it’s at 2000.3GB.
To get my SSD to show up in bios I think went through the boot options and disabled HDD(because at first I did not have one)
I imagine there was some sort of update that pushed me over the edge I knew it was almost full but haven’t checked it in a while.
With it only booting up to bios how do I go about this? I ripped an HHD out of my old PC hooked it up and signed in but it only shows that HDD, a flash drive I tossed in, and no SSD.
I’m having some fun troubleshooting but now I need some professional help

I have a Motorola Razor 2020 and I just recently (finally) got internet data from T-Mobile. I like to watch horror content on YouTube, but ever since I got mobile data, the child lock randomly turns on, so I can't. It won't let me look at anything that is deemed "adult content." I'm on the same plan as my parents, and what my mom explained is that she went to a previous plan when I had data (when I was 11) and that could explain the child locks. But what I don't understand is why it turns off and on. Is there a way to fix this? TMobile said they don't know what I'm talking about and need "parental consent" even though I'm over the age of 18. Is it a Motorola issue or a provider issue? I guess I have a lot of questions, sorry!

Hey, sorry if I have any typos. English is not my primary language. Some time ago, I made a post expressing my lack of confidence and fear of talking to strangers. However, it turns out that wasn't entirely true. While I don't have a problem talking to people in general, when it comes to someone I'm interested in, my brain tends to freeze like an error 404 page.
Recently, I attended an assistant police officer training where I had great interactions with a few girls. One of them caught my attention, and whenever we spoke, it felt like she was genuinely interested in what I had to say. She even mentioned seeing my brother, who works as a police officer, while he was on duty. These signs make me think that she may have done some research and knows that we are brothers, not just random guys with the same last name (which is quite common in my country).
I really want to message her on Messenger, but I find it awkward and cringy. I'm unsure about what to say since the only information I know about her is her age, the city she lives in, and that she is a single mom.
I should also mention that I consider myself introverted (self-diagnosed) and lack confidence, partly because I used to be extremely overweight at around 137 kg about a year ago. Hello there! Hope You all doing better everyday! Since that's gonna be my very first post in here, I already apologise for my poor English skills, as it isn't my first language. A little about me and the anxiety I have: I am a 20 year old guy from Estonia (Baltics), apparently to Your surprise I'm more of an extrovert and working a job at front desk. I smoke cannabis daily (on work-days only before bed), I also use nicotine daily (smokeless nicotine pouches) as well as the caffeine in my morning cup. I suffer under terrible health anxiety, which I haven't really talked about with my doctor. It's become pretty much daily now. Sometimes when I smoke a little too much/or randomly even while sober I'm just, all of a sudden, starting to feel my heart rate going up, getting dizzy, instantly my breathing changes as I'd need more oxygen. When things go really bad, my hands start to shake and I might even have a weird feeling in my chest for a while. And every God-damn time, I'm afraid I'm just about to have some heart-related episode. The fear of death kicks in as my thoughts are rushing faster than the speed of sound. I just hate it all so much. I'm about to go and see my doctor soon, since I already sent her a letter that I wanna check out what's up exactly. I wanna do all the blood tests, ECG for sure (to make sure my heart functions right), spirography in case it should be asthma/something lung related. Does anybody feel me?
