2023.06.06 03:53 something-wrong1234 The story that was created in r/pollgames.

You, shmungus, are eating a hamburger on a boat when suddenly, a woman walks up to you. She asks you to help find her child. You told her you would, and she led you to where she last saw her kid. It was the back of the boat. All of a sudden, she pushed you off. You looked for something to grab onto, and you found the anchor. You held on to the chain for dear life. The ship came back to land and you hopped off and swam to shore. People started looking at you strangely. A child walked up to you and asked if you were okay. Offering her hand, the child smiled. You took her hand and she was shining with happiness. Her mom came over and picked her up. The child protested and you heard her say she liked you. You smiled, and sat down on the beach.
Chapter 2: You went to the resturaunt and sat down. A waitress came to your table and you realized that she was the woman who pushed you off the boat. You saw that her name was Kimberly. You decided to order a hamburger and when you finished eating, you exited the resturaunt and called the police. When you explained the situation, they said they'd look into it. Later, you were wandering around the city when you got tired. You had a bit of money. You decide to go to a hotel and rent a room. Later that day, you find out that there is a pool. When you're going down to the pool, you see the girl from the beach and her mom. The girl notices and waves. You wave back. You both go to the pool, and while the girl plays with the other kids, you and her mom begin to talk. You explain that you were walked out on by your wife, who took your son. The woman introduced herself as Kylie, and her daughter's name was Cynthia. The two of you talked about some fun adventures, and you find out that you like her.
Chapter 3: after a few hours of talking, you asked for Kylie's number to stay in touch. To your disbelief, she said yes. You returned to your room, and went to bed. When you woke up, you saw a text message from your son. It says "hey pops. I miss you and am going to a small resturaunt tomorrow. Can we meet?" You went to the resturaunt your son was going to, and you saw him.
Chapter 4: "Hey, champ. How you doing?" You asked. "Good. Finally moved out. Mom desperately wanted to keep me from seeing you but I miss you." Yout son replied "Jeremy, I missed you. Glad you reached out to me." You said. You and Jeremy caught up with eachother. He now has a loving wife who is expecting a baby in 4 months. You smile and look at how much Jeremy's grown. Suddenly, Kylie and Cynthia come in, and notice him. They wave and come to talk. Jeremy flashes you a look, and you shake your head, laughing. The two girls meet Jeremy, and then he goes home to care for his wife. You, Kylie and Cynthia finished eating and walked back to the hotel. It was time for you to be on the move again. You never really had a chance to live somewhere permanently. You accidentally blurted it out and Kylie offered for you to stay at their place. You scratch your neck and smile in embarrasment.
Chapter 5: When the two girls took you to their house, Kylie apologized for it being small. You told her not to be sorry for giving you a place to live. You smile and decide that you are cooking dinner tonight. You went out and bought some groceries, and whipped up some burgers. You, Kylie and Cynthia all dig in. They are joyous with how good it is. It soon became late, and Cynthia was told to get ready for bed. Kylie then asks what led you to wish ashore that day. You decided to tell her that you were pushed off of a boat. Kylie looked at you and you could tell in her gaze that she felt sorry. You told her that she didn't need to be sorry and you were grateful for Cynthia's kindness. You then fell asleep.
Chapter 6: You were having a dream of warmth all around you. No pollution or crime. It was the ideal life. When you woke up, you found Cynthia and Kylie sleeping right next to you. When Kylie woke up, you said good morning and she started apologizing. You said it was okay as long as she slept well. When Cynthia woke up, you decided to make breakfast. Afterwards, you look for a job, and find three to go for. Our of the three choices, you choose to go for welding. After a bit of training and research, you try and get the job, and qualify immediately! You're quite shocked. On your first day of work, you do so well, that the boss wants to promote you! HR doesn't allow it because it's your first day. A week later you get your first pay. You got a good sum of money, and are considering moving out. When you tell Kylie and Cynthia, Cynthia asks you to stay, and Kylie just says it is your choice.
Chapter 7: You decide to stay because of Cynthia asking. You keep making money to help with rent and you look for houses to buy, because the apartment the three of you are staying in is really loud. You find 5 houses. You choose one with two floors, two bedrooms, and three bathrooms. When you, Kylie and Cynthia moved in, you all stared in amazement. It looked magnificent. After exploring and playing around, night rolls around. You claim a bedroom, and Kylie takes the other one. Cynthia asks to go in with you. You tell her that she should accompany Kylie. She nodded and said goodnight, then you slept like a baby.
Chapter 8: The next morning you are working out and Kylie and Cynthia join. You let Cynthia and Kylie join you, and you teach them stuff from when you were a kid learning fighting. You taught them how to punch properly, throw good kicks, and trained their endurance. Weeks go by, and one day, after a workout session, Kylie and Cynthia walk over to you and give you a hug, thanking you for being there and helping them. You hugged them back, smiling. The three of you stood there for three minutes, and when you all let go, everybody smiled. You got a text from Jeremy, and it was a photo of him, his wife, and their first-born son. Beaming with pleasure, you congratulate him and his wife. He then asks if you want to come down.
Chapter 9: When you came to the hospital, you met Jeremy's wife, Amie. She was a sweet girl with a soothing aura. Amie held the baby and you took a look at it. "It's a boy. We named him Drake." Amie said. You picked up the baby gently, and held it in the air. "This baby will be spoiled rotten." You said enthusiastically. Everyone shared a quick laugh. "Mom was here earlier. She never seems to want to meet you." Jeremy said solemnly. "Never mind that Jeremy. You've got your kid and wife to take care of now." You said, hand on Jeremy's back. When you get back home you get a text from a number. It said "hey. If you're alive, head to the alley between the mall and the office building. I know this is the right number, because Jeremy had it on his phone."
Chapter 10 (finale): You go to the alley with a metal pipe and a kitchen knife. A figure in a hood stands at the other end. The figure whipped out a knife of her own and lunged at you. You blocked with the pipe and jabbed the knife out, catching the mask that the silhouette was wearing. The person jumped back, but you went forward again, underhand slashing at the mask. The mask falls and behind it lies your ex-wife's face. She charges at you, screaming. "I should've made sure you were dead when you were on the boat!" She shouted at you. You kicked the knife out of her hands and tried to go for her again, but she pulled out another knife and stabbed you in the shoulder. You wonder if you should pull the knife out and use it. You decide not to pull out the knife. You take your pipe and lunge, but soon you realize that was a mistake. Kimberly (your ex) slashed your left eye and stabbed you with another knife she had hidden. You wobbled forward and she kicked you into the ground. You lay on the ground, staring at Kimberly. She walks toward you, twirling a butterfly knife she lunges, and then something drives into her. Jeremy stands in front of your Kimberly and Kylie and Cynthia drag you back. "Mother or not, I'll hurt you if you hurt someone I love." Jeremy said, glaring. He leapt forward and kicked Kimberly. She dropped the knife and Jeremy picked it up, slashing her tendons so she can't move. "We saw the text." Kylie said. Jeremy knocked Kimberly to the ground and tied her up with a rope and called the police. They came and arrested Kimberly, and you blacked out. (Two years later...) "Honey get up." Kylie said. In the two years after the incident, you and Kylie got married, and were raising Cynthia together. You, Kylie and Cynthia were going to a meeting with Jeremy, Amie and Drake. The six of you asked someone to take a picture, and you put your arm around Kylie and Cynthia, smiling when the camera took the picture. The end.

Best adults only, all inclusive resort? Breathless was my top choice but its a tad over my budget at $2800 for 3 nights, Hard Rock is fine at $1700. Really want 5 nice hotel, with good entertainment and a good pool. Swimmable beach would be great but can live without. Thank u!

2023.06.06 03:05 Groovy-Tony Southern Italy and Spain Itinerary for 3 Mo

I'm planning my Euro trip this and looking at creating an itinerary that allows me to explore hidden gems while staying within my budget. I've done some research and discovered that smaller, lesser-known cities and towns just an hour or so outside of larger metropolitan areas tend to be significantly more affordable. I'll be working a lot so not really concerned with doing anything really touristy, but open if i have an opportunity. I'm interested in food, wine, art, culture, beaches, and language learning.
So far i'm considering starting in Italy in Naples or Sorrento, staying in each location for a month, then traveling to Spain and heading to Valencia for a month. Background: From August to October, I'll be in Europe, primarily to obtain my passport via Jure Sanguinis and continue my personal project on researching my family history. As my family hails from the Campania region in Avellino, Italy, and Sicily, I aim to explore these areas extensively. Italy will be my main focus, with a two-month stay, followed by one month in Spain. Since I'll be working remotely during my trip, I'd prefer to stay in each location for at least a month and venture out on day trips or weekend excursions. So, I'm wondering what will be the best way to structure my trip logistically, whether to start in Spain or Italy and ideal locations to stay a month at a time. Important Trip Criteria: Coastal Access: As August and September are prime beach months, I'm keen to find a city or a location close enough to beaches, ideally the closer the better, but at least within an hour or so distance in the summer months Hidden Gems: I'm eager to explore lesser-known, off-the-beaten-path cities and towns that offer more unique experiences and fit well within my budget. These hidden gems just outside larger metropolitan areas tend to be more affordable Walkability and Public Transportation: Since I won't have a car, it's essential for me to choose cities that are highly walkable and provide reliable public transportation options. Renting a car for short trips is a possibility if needed. Social Opportunities: While working remotely, I'd love to be in a location that allows me to meet people, make friends, and experience the local social scene. Therefore, I'm inclined to avoid extremely small or remote towns that may lack such opportunities. Reliable Internet: Staying connected is crucial for my remote work. Access to reliable internet is a must to ensure I can be productive and enjoy a smooth digital experience throughout my trip Access to a gym, yoga ++ Also considering taking some lessons in Italian at a local school or with a tutor. Budget: I always try and keep my budget around $1,000/Mo for accommodations. Typically i'm staying in Airbnb's, and also have worked direct renting short term stays. I have been living in South America though mainly, so not sure if this will still be realistic in Spain/Italy. Willing to pay a little more if need be, but hoping not to exceed 1200-1300/ mo for my place.

2023.06.06 02:26 bie716 Singapore experts of r/bangtan! What advice and recommendations do you have for ARMY visiting Singapore for the SUGA Agust D Concert? (16 - 18 June 2023)

In just under two weeks, ARMYs will descend upon Singapore to see SUGA! Help an ARMY out and let them know about safety, how to get around, where to eat, tourist attractions, BTS-related things to do, or anything else that you think someone should know when they visit! (Special thanks to the mods for your input and feedback for this guide!)

BTS' Past Visits

Red Bullet Tour (2014 BTS Live Trilogy Episode II) at the The Star Performing Arts Centre (13 Dec 2014)
Music Bank performance (4 Aug 2017) at the Suntec Convention Centre
Love Yourself World Tour (19 Jan 2019) at the National Stadium
This made history as the first time a K-pop group held a concert at the venue (largest concert venue in the country) and tickets sold out in about 3.5 hours! (45,000 audience)

Concert Venue

Do note that it’s currently the June school holidays too (26 May-26 Jun), so the Sports Hub and surrounding areas may be crowded with many other visitors besides the concert-goers. Please be mindful!

Sightseeing/Activities

Non-exhaustive list (all prices are in SGD)
(Note: You may want to check out Klook for discount tickets/passes)

Dining

Singapore is a food paradise with various cuisines from the local ethnic groups, as well as international ones. For Muslims, there are a lot of Muslim-owned or Halal-certified options around (look for this certificate, or the label “Muslim-owned”), including most of the fast food chains like McDonald’s/KFC/Burger King/Subway.
Carrying some cash with you (~$10 per pax) is a good idea, especially if you’re venturing out to hawker centres; while many places now have an electronic payment system in place, cash is still king in terms of versatility, and anecdotally most stores prefer cash or will charge a credit-card payment surcharge.

Where to eat?

What to eat?

Breakfast (These are generally very affordable options that should cost you below $10 per person, particularly if you go to food courts/hawker centres)
Lunch & dinner
Snacks

Getting Around

Singapore has a great public transport system. It’s really easy & cheap to get around on the MRT (mass rapid transit trains) and buses. Use Google Maps or the City Mapper app to navigate yourself and get route recommendations (the latter also has transport arrival timings and fare estimates. It also works in many cities globally, so is very useful for tourists). Various transport passes are available for tourists, but you can also use your contactless credit cards (Visa and Mastercard) to pay for the fares (no registration required).
In general, using the Circle Line (yellow) or Downtown Line (blue) should get you to most tourist attractions. Orchard Road (main shopping belt) can be accessed via the North South Line (red), between Orchard and Somerset MRT stations. Map for reference, with links to versions in Chinese/Malay/Tamil available for download.
Taxis and ride-hailing cars: We have Grab and Gojek in place of Uber.
General navigation
All signs are in English, and the locals - esp the younger generation - are able to speak English fluently. If you’re really lost, feel free to approach others to ask for help! People are generally friendly and helpful despite initial appearances :)
As a side note: in general, if Google Maps is asking you to circle around a building to get somewhere - don’t. You can cut through most places on the ground floor quite easily, even the residential buildings (unless they’re private properties like condominiums/landed housing). MRT stations are connected to a good number of places via sheltered corridors if they’re nearby enough. Enjoy the aircon & shade instead of walking outside in the heat if you can.

Shopping

Weathewhat to wear

The weather is especially hot these days (max temp of up to 35 degrees celsius, or 95 Fahrenheit), with possible spurts of heavy rain at certain times of day, so dress light and carry an umbrella (most places do have sheltered walkways between buildings and bus-stops/MRT stations though, so don’t worry too much about getting around in the rain). Mall air-conditioning can be cold, so hv another layer (e.g. cardigan/wrap/scarf) on hand. Remember to hydrate frequently & avoid staying outdoors for too long!

Airport

We’ve tried to achieve a balance between being succinct and informative, but certainly the above info is not exhaustive. So do feel free to ask in the comments below if the info you need is not here! Fellow SG ARMY, or those familiar with Singapore, feel free to chime in!

Looking to holiday in Penang at the end of the month. Any hotels, hostels, Airbnb? with beach access?
I'm going with parents, so it's just a jalan jalan cari makan trip but I would love one with beach access so I can enjoy some sea breeze and get some jogging in. Tired of living in land locked KL.

2023.06.05 23:55 ThrowRA-rlt Bf (29M) told a friend he is planning to breakup with me (27F) but acts lovely in real life still

TLDR: Found out bf texted a friend about breaking up with me, but continues to act nicely in real life, and even is planning for trips and booking hotels for later in the year.
Bf (29M) and I (27F) have been together for 5 years and lived together for 3 years. We’ve met each others parents, both have stable and high paying jobs, and own two cats together. We had a convo about marriage a few months ago and he admitted that he was not ready but would like to stay together and reassess end of this year (2023).
Yesterday I was working and his computer was making notification sounds nonstop so I went to turn off the notification. I then saw his text history with his friend on the computer. It pretty much says he doesn’t feel loved and the friend suggested that he breaks up this month and he agreed. This text happened a few days ago. I admit it was my bad snooping but the friend was sending inappropriate content so I scrolled up to read more.
I was in shock because there was no indication at all. Bf is very sweet and loving in person. Yesterday he went all the way out to get my favorite food and snacks and surprised me with it. He is helping me with my small business and providing great ideas. He talked about planning a summer vacation with me and was looking at tickets last night. We also have a trip planned with his extended family to a beach in a month. We hug, kiss, cuddle, joke around at home as always.
Now I’m not sure what to think - if he’s planning to break up, why has he acted the same and even wants to make plans? Should I confront him? Or bring up the topic without admitting that I looked at the texts? I’m just shocked that someone could be so two-faced. I know that he is the type that has decision paralysis and always has cold feet and second thoughts when trying out a new thing (school, job, even buying an expensive device). I think I’d like to have an honest conversation but I am now feeling very insecure and betrayed.

2023.06.05 23:12 Dramatic-Today399 Just got back from Grace Bay, here is my rundown and reqs

My husband and I just got back from a 5-day vacation in Grace Bay. I spent a lot of time on this sub before our trip and posted asking for recommendations about our itinerary, so figured I would follow up with my thoughts if they are useful to anyone who is planning on visiting there as well!
Accommodations: We stayed at Grace Bay Club. Honestly I can’t say enough good things about this place. Yes it is pricey, but IMO worth the splurge for proximity to the beach, amenities and service. We booked through the hotel and had breakfast included every day, which was delicious and had a lot of variety. The service was amazing. All the staff were super friendly and accommodating the entire time we were there. Lastly, I thought out of the other hotels on the beach that GBC had the best beach setup. There is only one row of chairs, so you have an unobstructed view / access to the ocean. All in all, 10/10!
Food / Restaurants: Since we were staying on resort we ate out for all our meals (if you are planning to do the same, be prepared for how pricey it is!) Here’s a list of where we ate with my two cents: - Coco Bistro: Our favorite meal by far! Everything was delicious. We didn’t have a reservation but were able to get a spot by the bar. Coco van (the airstream bar / food truck on the property) was also a fun spot with more casual vibes. - Infinity Restaurant: This is Grace Bay Club’s on-resort restaurant. It’s nice because it’s right on the beach and very romantic. Food was good, definitely pricey. We didn’t have any but we heard the sushi was good. Might be fun for a splurge! - Provence: French-fusion cuisine, located in-town in sort of a strip mall area. We made reservations here because it got great reviews, but honestly I would skip. It was very expensive and not really worth the price tag IMO. I would pick one of the resort restaurants instead for a splurgy night out so you can be on the water. - Da Conch Shack: a close second favorite! Depending on where you’re staying you need a car or taxi to get there, but I think it’s worth the trip. Right on the beach and great views / vibes. Staff were super friendly and food was great. - Omar’s: We probably did ourselves a disservice by stopping here on the way to the airport since it’s close to it, so we didn’t have a ton of time to hang out. A lot of people recommend this place and it is in a cool location right on the water, and it’s probably a great lunch / day trip spot if you have the time.
Excursions / Transport: - As others have said, RENT A CAR! It’s only about $30/40 per day and so worth it. We rented from Grace Bay Car Rentals and the process was easy. Just be prepared to drive on the left side of the road. - We only had one excursion planned which was a half-day snorkel trip through Lady Grace (a charter that I think is run by the Ritz). I’d recommend looking at Lady Grace’s tours, the boat was super nice, has a full bar and great staff. Snorkeling was fun and we made a stop at Iguana Island afterwards which was nice to see. - My husband also did a dive trip off-resort (I stayed on the beach :)). I don’t have a ton of info but I know he really liked it and it was reasonably priced. I can ask him for details if anyone is interested!
Final thoughts: This was one of the BEST vacations we’ve ever had, we’re already making plans to go back. Usually we pack our trips with tours and excursions, but I was perfectly happy to sit on the beach most days because the water and sand are so beautiful. It’s a perfect spot for a low-key / relaxing vacation (probably not so much if you’re looking for a party destination).
Let me know if I can elaborate on anything!

2023.06.05 21:36 rdc0168 Platinum.. Almost a no-brainer

Booked a Hilton Resort Hotel originally was booking online for $280/night for King Studio room, but called before booking to ask a few questions. They ended up just booking the reservation on the phone, and while doing so applied a Hilton Honors Discount for my Gold Status that is given with a Platinum Card. $200 for the room instead, so already saved $80.
Upon arrival with Gold, I am eligible for room upgrade if available. I simply ask and receive a top floor King Suite with Balcony over the beach for no charge. Hard to put the upgrade into $, but $695 id say has gotten me $150-$200 in one stay in what I would have paid for the same room. The 5x on flights and hotels is only scratching the surface of this card!

2023.06.05 21:19 the_tral Is gilli Air worth visiting post CoVID?

Hey everyone, i’ve been to Bali and the gili Islands a few years back and loved it. I just bookes an 16 day trip to september, and i’m currently booking hotels and planning the trip.
I’m traveling with my wife and one year old daughter, so I plan on a just one hotel change, 8 days ubud, and 8 days gili air. We're probably using a good bit of time at the hotels so it matters.
Trying to find a good hotel on gili air in the 100-200 eur range pr night, i’ve come across nothing but bad reviews for 2023. Hotels filled with Mold, angry managers because losses from year's of being closed off, dirty pools, overdue renovations, and beached filled with trash.
Does anyone know if this is representative of the current state of gili islands? I wanna go back, but if it’s too impacted by lockdowns I suppose sanur, ahmed or other places might be better?
Please help put some color on this if you’ve visited gili reasontly :-)

2023.06.05 20:40 oliverccash Hotel Recommendations & Things to do?

Hi all,
Myself and partner are looking to take a trip to LA late September / Early October for 10 nights and we'd really appreciate some recommendations on hotels, areas to stay and things to do that might not be obvious to the typical tourist.
To give some context, we are based in the UK, both 30y/o. We're big foodies, not huge drinkers but we appreciate a nice bar. We're looking to hire a car for the duration. Our budget per night would be around $400-$500, but we're open to suggestions.
On the list so far is:
What would you recommend?

2023.06.05 20:23 Aztalez What would be a good area to get an airbnb for a couple of weeks in Cancun?

I'm considering a couple of weeks here since I have been most other places in the Yucatan and only a night in Cancun when I first arrived. I am travelling cheap so the hotel zone is a no go for me. But a place with quick access to the beach (is that possible to be walking distance?) and with good food around would be ideal.
I've looked at the map but not sure which areas are good/relatively safe to stay in. When I arrived I stayed at Mex hotels near the roundabout by the ado bus station...
