The Main Goal:
Well if you’re browsing this subreddit then much like me, you were alone this weekend and I’m sure you’d like to change that as much as me. I won’t lie, I am going through a rough part of my life right now. It’s difficult for me to find the energy for anything at the moment and I’m just really seeking affection in general, anything that will give me a push. I don’t want to be that person who brings everyone down but I could really use someone to talk to right now. I’d really like to find someone who’s similar to me so much to the point that we do everything together and talk about everything while not having to pretend to be interested. I want someone with whom we can mutually spew our emotions onto and have those feelings reciprocated. Not an emotional punching bag, but an emotional teddy bear to hug and cuddle until everything feels better as many times as we need. There’s people who I’m sure have told you the same, they’ll be there no matter how many times you need the support, no matter how many times the insecurities and bad thoughts come back but they don’t mean it. I will be the exception, I’m not so ignorant to think some nice words and tales of relating to you will magically forever heal whatever ails you then get mad when you seek the same support again. Mental ailments are rarely temporary and I don’t care about someone because they’re perfect, caring about someone means being there no matter how many times they need you to be. It doesn’t feel like a chore, it doesn’t get old, and it never will.

(2.a)
What I'm Seeking:
I will upfront let you know if I’m clicking better with someone else or if you’re the one, I’m not here to tread the sea of fish or keep my options open, I’m here for one singular person.
(2.b)
Relationship:
A relationship is difficult for me right now, it’s been nearly half a year since I got out of my last relationship and the reasons for it ending are partially responsible for how I’ve been feeling and why it’s so hard for me to seek the comfort I so desperately crave. I will tell you about it but for the sake of not treating the entirety of the internet as my therapist, it’ll be in private. I really need the comfort of intimacy and the warmth of someone who cares. I'm not going to feel better if I just sulk and don’t move on. This is my attempt to get better, I’ll admit I’m not great right now and I don’t expect you to be either. If we can help each other heal, then I’d be more than happy :) A relationship isn’t just being there for when someone’s at their best. Even if a relationship is hard at the moment, I do want a life partner and I don’t want to be alone. Things aren’t going to get easier without you so I don’t want to hesitate. I view my other as an equal, I don’t like categorizing us into specific roles. We take care of each other and treat each other how we like to be treated, whatever that is, it's as simple as that. I don't care if you're "successful" or not, living simple lives with our days filled with love is the ultimate measure of success to me.
(3)
Personality:
(3.a)
On the Surface:
As you can tell I can be rather… stoic but that’s largely due to my current stressors, I truthfully am goofy and fun loving but I just can’t find it in me right now. I want to return to that but without someone to light up my world it’s been difficult to just have fun and enjoy stuff. I’m definitely more introverted, you won’t catch me at any parties or really outside at all. I definitely prefer being home though the occasional outing is not out of the question and one day I’d like to travel to other countries because I think that kind of perspective is important.
(3.b)
The Core of My Being:
I like being a spectator to it all and if we bear witness to humanity burning or its miraculous recovery, I want to watch it with you. I enjoy watching humanity advance, less so when it devolves but I want to watch it to the end nonetheless. I’m both a realist and someone who lives with my head in the clouds dreaming of scenarios or worlds that don’t exist. I’m saying that I enjoy a good narrative and can suspend my disbelief to enjoy something but you won’t catch me refusing vaccines or ignoring blatant facts for the sake of some pseudo science or witch doctor’s remedy. I’m an atheist but I do not rule out existence after death, not because I’m agnostic but because due to the nature of potentially infinite time at some point after how many googol years with a googol amount of 0s after that, something’s bound to replicate your consciousness perfectly at some point. It’s actually a really fascinating topic I like talking about. If infinite time and infinite possibilities exist, does non existence exist? Though that’s an awfully existentially dreadful thought process considering the ramifications of infinite existence and infinite possibilities during said infinite existence. I would say I’m confidently left leaning and I don’t think I could truly get along with anyone right leaning, at least America’s definition of right leaning. Left and right seems to have just become; do people deserve to suffer or do they deserve to live good lives? Being political is not something I expected to become but how can you not be when crimes against human rights are being passed on a daily basis and at the end of the day, everything’s political. Oftentimes I imagine the perfect moment as relaxing with my significant other playing games or cuddling in a cold room under blankets.
I value that special someone above all of the existential thoughts, the bad of the world, the good of the world, they practically become my world. So many worries wash away when I’m with them. I don’t know if that’s the defense mechanism my brain created to not feel bad 24/7 but if it is, I’m currently without it.
(3.c)
Insecurities:
I talk of philosophy and politics here but really I spend most of my time just playing games, watching stuff, and trying to not be sleep deprived. I’m also nowhere near as well spoken, heck sometimes I feel like my speech is broken. I won’t claim to be something I’m not, I sit at home while I complain about the world doing nothing about it wishing I had someone here with me. I’m not noble nor do I really want to be, I have morals I uphold but much like most other hypocrites I acknowledge that my comfortable life is built on the suffering of others without doing anything about it. Why? My sleep problems? Am I depressed? Is that why I have no energy to do anything? Do I just think nothing I could do could help? I can’t nail it down myself, maybe it’s a mix of everything, maybe I’m just a bad person. I have always told myself that if I had wealth I would help people but if I get that kind of wealth will I just become a wealth hoarder who tries to justify my riches as something I earned rather than something given to me through incredibly lucky circumstances? If I do help people is it because I’m a good person or out of guilt? Will I die alone? I feel like I drive everyone away with my clinginess, I get paranoid often and need reassurance often. It’s something I want to work on, something I’ve been trying to work on. Hearing that someone cares about me just never gets old. I value self awareness even if it’s painful.
(3.d)
Socializing:
I’m definitely a socially anxious/awkward mess, especially around strangers. I do feel a large amount of anxiety in public, people can’t tell by looking at my face since I kind of go stone faced in an attempt to block everything out but yeah you’ll notice that if we go out in public. Growing up my pediatrician said I was probably autistic, never got a formal diagnosis so that’s just great. But yeah that explains why I can’t make eye contact with people, I kinda just stare at the ground and avoid their gaze at all costs. A lot of these social struggles go away to a great degree once I know you for a bit but yeah I apologize for how terrible I am at socializing at first. Don’t let my social struggles fool you though, I love cuddling and being close with my person.
(3.e)
Sexuality:
I am a heterosexual male, though I’m not very masculine like at all. I may even be a bit feminine sometimes. Not that I believe any activity or manner of acting belongs to a gender but I don’t know how else to describe it. I’m definitely super affectionate and love it when my partner is too. I am open to dating demi people but I do have a libido so I don't think asexual would work out.
(4)
Interests:
(4.a)
Video Games:
As stated before, I do spend a lot of my time playing video games. It’s been hard lately with me having no energy but I really do want to play more games and have a good time playing them with you! I primarily play on PC though I do have a switch. I’m primarily into platform fighters, roguelikes, open world, survival, and sandbox games. As for single player story games, I enjoy watching them through twitch or youtube but for the most part I don’t play them myself. I’d watch you play them though!
Here’s a list of games we can play:
-Minecraft (Java)
-Risk of Rain 2
-Gunfire Reborn
-Roboquest
-7 Days to Die
-Phasmophobia
-Rust
-Unturned
-Bloons TD 6
-Platform fighters: Super Smash Bros. Melee, Slap City, Multiversus, Flash Party, Fraymakers
Whatever you want to play I’ll give it a shot! I will say that League bores me to death but I’ll play it for you :) I try to avoid MMOs, not because I don’t like them but because of how addicted I can get to them. I enjoy learning games in-depth so MMOs can be a fast track to addiction.
I recently got Kerbal Space Program 2 and ehhh not really worth it right now but hopefully later it will be? I’m super excited for Tears of the Kingdom! In the far off future I’m excited for Rivals of Aether 2 which is a platform fighter releasing in 2024, let me know of your most anticipated releases and I’ll see if I could play them with you!
Also I never got into FPS games but I could totally see myself playing like CoD with you or Escape From Tarkov. Any FPS really, I’m down.
I am a fan of Pokemon but with how things have been lately I don’t know how long that will last. Pixelmon is a common Pokemon mod I play for Minecraft if you want to play that! Also if I say I want to play something with you I mean it but there are often times when no matter how much I want to I'm just drained and can do little more than lay in bed so please don't think I'm making an excuse.
(4.b)
Science:
I really enjoy keeping up with the latest advances in pretty much everything, it could be biology, technology, astronomy, anything! I love seeing progression and I love talking about it! Really I could go on and on about what I’m obsessing about that day. I particularly love technology, ask me for my laptop specs I dare you. When I was little I always wanted to be a scientist of any kind but then insomnia and fear of college stuff hit me like a truck aaaand that’s the end of that dream.
(4.c)
Anime:
You got me, I like anime but I’d like to think my tastes are benign.
Here’s some of my favorites I can list from the top of my head:
- To Your Eternity
- Vinland Saga
- Spice and Wolf
- Re:Zero
- Mob Psycho
- Dr. Stone
- Attack on Titan
- Spy x Family
- My Hero Academia
- Ranking of Kings
- Demon Slayer
Okay I can go on and on but I will say I don’t like pointless fan service and the spamming of cliche anime moments. I mostly enjoy action and anything well animated if it doesn’t have a potato story. Heck Demon Slayer could be my top 3 out of season 2’s animation alone. I don’t watch slice of life often or romance but I would with you!
(4.d)
Misc:
I’m not going to go on and on about the tiniest little things when the main ones are covered but I’ll watch pretty much any show with you and anything really. I like random youtube videos that explain some kind of lore or mystery, sometimes mini documentaries too.
As for food I looove sushi and I’m a sucker for fast food. Okay and candy, definitely candy.
I used to play tennis but haven’t really had the opportunity nor friends to play it with and I’m way too socially anxious to seek it out. Also I will say that when we move to something like discord I type waaaay more casually. I’m not going to expect long paragraphs back and forth like we’re writing English papers for each other, I do enjoy long conversations but seriously don’t worry about having to put the utmost effort into every response, I just like making good first impressions I guess.

(5.a)
My Physical Characteristics:
I’m 5’8 (172cm), 128 pounds (58kg), with curly brown hair and blue eyes. I like keeping my hair long in the winter and cutting it in the summer. I’m pretty slim in general so if you’re looking for someone large, that’s not me. I don’t work out but my work is pretty physical so at least I’m not totally inactive. I don’t have the urge to work out or gain muscle but I do want to maintain my slim figure so if I start losing control of that I’ll work out. I like to keep my face shaved because I don’t think I look good with a beard/mustache so if you’re into those I apologize. I have an average amount of body hair? I’d prefer to be completely shaved but it’s easy to lose motivation with that battle, if you prefer shaved then I’d have no problem complying. Anyways here’s what I look like:
https://imgur.com/a/MZZgf2t (5.b)
My Physical Preferences:
Having physical preferences makes me feel shallow, if I could make myself not have them I would but unfortunately that’s now how that works. I don’t care if you’re shorter or taller than me and I don’t care if you weigh more or less than me. All I ask is that you’re slim-average weight. I would never ask for someone to be something I’m not. I don’t care about tattoos or piercings.**(6)Expectations of You (Relationship Only):**I am not looking for someone “exciting” or someone to “keep me on my toes” I’m not looking for someone to cater to my every whim or anything like that. I don’t care if you’re “boring” or if you aren’t “successful”. I know it’s a common thing for people to not want a “boring” relationship and to seek something argumentative or something with constant challenges but I just want to be with you. During the exciting times, the boring times, and everything in-between, all of it will be great with you! Maybe we do argue sometimes or maybe there will be challenges but that will never be something I purposefully seek out and I don’t want that to be something you seek out either. I will not play tricks on you and I will not play mind games, I expect the same from you. We all have personal measures of success we may or may not have lived up to but what I care about most is our commitment to each other. If we have each other we can get through tough times, near the ends of our lives I want us to look back and feel that this life together was worth more than anything. That’s not saying I want us to be haphazard, I don’t want us to make poor decisions for the sake of yolo and I want us to always be rational, especially with each other. I want you to be someone I can trust to make decisions and weigh the options with a level head, I’ll try my best to live up to the same for you. Most of all I want empathy, understanding, someone to feel the utmost comfort and trust in.
(7)
Living Situation:
Currently my life is pretty relaxed, I work 3 times a week as a night shift stocker. I currently live in a 2 bedroom apartment with my roommate but we’re looking to move into someplace larger by the end of the year if everything works out. The internet is weirdly great for Ohio too like I have fiber and later this year we’re supposed to be getting dedicated fiber so that’s neat. I’m not attached to Ohio so the ultimate goal living location wise is probably moving to a country that won’t send you into a lifetime of dealing with the repercussions from one medical emergency.
(8)
Deal Breakers:
Might as well make this simple and make it a list.
- Anti-vaxxers
- Unironically believing astrology
- Right wingers
- Hard drugs (occasional 420 and alcohol is fine, may even join you)
- Wanting children, there was a time when I was younger when I wanted children but with the state of the word that’s a definite no and I feel like I wouldn’t be able to handle the stress. I’d love a stress free life with as much time with you as possible.
- Homophobic
- Transphobic
- Racist
- Super Religious
- Don’t be a bigot and don’t deny facts.
(9)
Closing Remarks:
Well you made it, I was thinking that finding someone I’d be willing to put a lifetime of effort into at least required this much effort. If I think of anything more I’ll update the post. Also about timezones, it really doesn’t matter where in the world you are. I don’t have a sleep schedule and I have most of the week off from work so it really doesn’t matter.
I request that in your response you do put effort into it, it doesn’t have to be anywhere near as long as this but at least enough so I know that you read this and enough about you so I know why you saw potential compatibility. I will seriously read all of it and respond the best I can. I do also request a pic included in your response (sfw please) or one soon after we start talking to prove identity, I’ll send identity proving pics too. As long as this post is up, you can send a reply!

2023.05.30 21:41 CallMeVe A look at which Big 10 school has the best athletes
Through my boredom at work I took a look through the standings of each of the B1G's sports standing to answer the question of which B1G school is the most athletic.
My methodology is nothing fancy, I just take the rankings and assign points in reverse order. Last place gets 1 point and first place gets points equal to how ever many schools participate in the sport. This means Ranking first in a sport where every school has a team, like basketball, holds more sway than a sport with only a handful of teams, like hockey. Some sports include Notre Dame and John Hopkins, but I did not include those schools for the sake of this ranking. I included both men's and women's sports as well as took the past 3 rankings for each sport into account. With that out of the way, let's see where the 14 schools stand, starting with last.

2023.05.30 21:40 Asleep-Leader-136 Need a used car that needs to last about 5-6 months
I am going to be staying in Cleveland ohio for about 5 months and I am looking into buying a used car for that period of time and then selling or scrapping it when I leave. I have a pretty modest budget and would prefer not to have to spend any more than 4000$. The car does not need to look good or have a lot of functions it simply needs to be able to get me safely from A to B and preferrably not break down completely in the course of those five months.
So far I have been looking a bit at these contenders:
2002 Toyota Camry LE Sedan (Very high milage)
2002 Honda Odyssey LX (minor damage from an accident)
2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser Touring (pretty low milage but have heard the cars suck)
2006 Ford Focus ZX3 S Do you guys think any of these would be up to the task? I of course know they won't last me a lifetime and won't be good cars for the price range I'm looking at, but all I need is something that will do the job for the next five months.

2023.05.30 21:23 SuccessfulGur4140 Ohio-Grandma died and left everything to me
As the title states, I've inherited my grandma's everything after her death. I'm in Ohio, do I have to go through probate if the house was left to me in a transfer on death designation affidavit? I'm the sole beneficiary named in her will and on the affidavit. I also live out of state and only have less than a week left to handle what I can for the time being.

2023.05.30 21:11 superbomb122 I simulated u/TheGeorgeKelly's Bizarro-verse Super Bowls to see who would really win
Credit goes to
u/TheGeorgeKelly for the
original post. I absolutely loved the alternate history concept, but I found the methodology for the winners and lack of scores a bit unsatisfying. To resolve this for my stat junkie brain, I booted up WhatIfSports simulation and spent the morning simulating every Super Bowl since 1970s with the runner's-up to find out who really comes out on top in Bizarro World. The results and game MVPs are below:
Season | Winner | Loser | Score | MVP |
1970-71 | Oakland Raiders | San Francisco 49ers | 34-17 | OAK WR Fred Biletnikoff: 4 rec, 140 yds, TD |
1971-72 | Baltimore Colts | San Francisco 49ers (2) | 26-15 | BAL RB Norm Bulaich: 15 att, 72 yds, TD, 2 rec, 26 yds, TD |
1972-73 | Dallas Cowboys | Pittsburgh Steelers | 10-6 | PIT CB Mel Blount: 2 tck, 2 INT |
1973-74 | Dallas Cowboys (2) | Oakland Raiders | 21-20 | DAL QB Roger Staubach: 14/22, 165 yds, 2 TD, INT, 5 att, 14 yds |
1974-75 | Oakland Raiders (2) | Los Angeles Rams | 24-23 | OAK QB Ken Stabler: 14/22, 247 yds, 2 TD |
1975-76 | Los Angeles Rams | Oakland Raiders (2) | 23-10 | LAR RB Lawrence McCutcheon: 20 att, 89 yds, 3 rec, 11 yds |
1976-77 | Los Angeles Rams (2) | Pittsburgh Steelers (2) | 17-7 | LAR QB James Harris: 17/28, 297 yds, TD, 4 att, 6 yds |
1977-78 | Minnesota Vikings | Oakland Raiders (3) | 20-17 OT | MIN RB Chuck Foreman: 26 att, 109 yds, 4 rec, 59 yds, TD |
1978-79 | Los Angeles Rams (3) | Houston Oilers | 23-10 | LAR QB Pat Haden: 13/24, 182 yds, 2 TD, 3 att, 25 yds |
1979-80 | Tampa Bay Buccaneers | Houston Oilers | 15-13 | TAM RB Ricky Bell: 20 att, 64 yds, 3 rec, 19 yds, TD |
1980-81 | San Diego Chargers | Dallas Cowboys | 21-17 | SD QB Dan Fouts: 21/32, 307 yds, 2 TD |

Some notes:
- Most rings: 49ers, Rams (5)
- Most losses: 49ers (6)
- Most appearances without a win: Browns (3)
- Most appearances without a loss: Jets (4)
- Most appearances: 49ers (11)
- No appearances: Giants, Texans
- In real life, the Giants have not lost a post-merger conference championship game, while the Jets have not won a post-merger championship game. The opposite is true here, with the Jets also having 4 post-merger rings like the Giants IRL. Funny how that worked out
- The Vikings' 1978 Super Bowl win came from their kicker making a 36 yarder as time expired in regulation and then a 46 yarder as time expired in OT. Yep, this is the Bizarro world alright.
- 2 MVPs in losing efforts (Mel Blount and Ricky Watters)
- 4 defensive MVPs (Mel Blount, Fred Dean, LeRoy Irvin, Chris Jones)
- Mark Sanchez has as many rings as Ben Roethlisberger and Brett Favre and more than Aaron Rodgers, John Elway, and Peyton Manning combined. The same goes for Jimmy G, but that's less funny.
- Most wins by a QB: Joe Montana (1983-84, 1990-91, 1993-94), Tom Brady (2012-13, 2013-14, 2015-16)
- The state of California won 8 Super Bowls in 12 years from 1973-74 to 1985-86. This includes the Rams dynasty you never knew existed. Go look up Lawrence McCutcheon. Right now.
- The Lions won a Super Bowl. That is their most recent playoff win.
- The Bucs got a ring in year 4, the Jags got 2 by year 5. Wild performances from expansion teams.
- The Cowboys still haven't made a Super Bowl since the 90s.
- I think I prefer reality to losing 4 Super Bowls in 7 years as a zoomer Packers fan.

2023.05.30 21:04 TheBloodBeard Cap Rates in Small Midwest Towns
Hello all,
I am looking to buy my first rental property in Ohio and want to know of any cap rate observations in smaller Midwest towns. The broker states the cap rate is 10.9% but I have underwritten it closer to a 8.25% cap rate, looking at essentially neutral leverage in today’s interest rate environment.
Some more information on the property: -triplex with 2 Section 8 tenants near market and the other is vacant. -in place property management. -New roof and gutters in 2022. -Built in 1900. -Listed for $175k.
Let me know of what cap rates you are seeing in these markets, any data points are helpful. Thanks!

Avila Energy: A Special Situation Investment with Potential for a 1450% Return Avila Energy: A Special Situation Investment with Potential for a 1450% Return
Penny Queen pick 05.29.2023
TL:DR Avila is a profitable oil and gas company in Canada with preferred, North American rights to the Ener-Twin consumer power plants. This clean technology is projected to generate gross sales of up to $25 million in 2024. Avila has entered into a business combination agreement to uplist to the Nasdaq through the $INAQ SPAC. I place the value of Avila around 30 cents US without the SPAC. Completion of the SPAC could put the share value at 85 cents US.
Because I see the company as being undervalued, and because Avila would also have to pay a penalty to break the agreement, I see this special situation as less risky at this price point. As a reminder, the PQTF peak gains on the prior three special situation stocks have been 146%, 889% and 1370%, but had major issues that if played incorrectly, could have cost people a lot of money. As always, prior performance is not indicative of future performance. I do have a position and intend to do more purchasing and will continue to re-evaluate. As always trading is risky, this is not advice and I am not a financial advisor.
I have done my best to represent the facts as I know them, if you find any errors, please let me know:

Avila Energy (CA: VIK, OTC: PTRVF), an established Canadian oil and gas producer, is on the verge of a potentially transformative merger that could bring immense rewards for its shareholders. The company has agreed to combine with Special Purpose Acquisition Company (SPAC) Insight Acquisition (NYSE: INAQ).
The proposed transaction, as detailed at the link below, will allow for Avila to up-list onto the Nasdaq, enhance its ongoing carbon-neutral business strategy, and further strengthen the capitalization of the company with an expected combined entity market cap of over $190 Million.
This article will discuss the specifics of the deal, Avila's potential to diversify its revenue stream, and how it presents a rare special situation investment opportunity that could potentially lead to a total return of 1450%.
A Breakdown of the Deal
The Avila and Insight Acquisition merger is a complex one, but is potentially extremely lucrative for existing Avila shareholders. Under the agreement, Insight will continue from the State of Delaware to the Province of Alberta and acquire Avila in an amalgamation pursuant to a court-approved plan of arrangement under Alberta law.
According to the agreement, the fully diluted common shares of Avila, currently numbering 150,540,414, will be exchanged for 12,580,000 common shares of Insight Acquisition. This exchange ratio translates to about 11.97 shares of Avila for each share of Insight Acquisition.
Avila shareholders will own the following interest in the post-closing combined company:
100% Redemption (Proceeds retained from trust of US$ 1,250,000) 67.2% by Avila's shareholders;
50% Redemption (Proceeds retained from trust of US$15,781,215) 62.4% by Avila's shareholders;
0% Redemption (Proceeds retained from trust of US$29,062,430) 57.9% by Avila's shareholders.
At present, Avila shares trade at USD $0.0588 (5.88 cents), while Insight Acquisition shares trade at USD $10.23. However, given the merger and based on the exchange ratio, the post-merger price for each Avila share is projected to rise to around $0.855. This implies a staggering potential increase of up to 1450% for Avila shareholders, and forms the basis of the arbitrage opportunity that Avila presents as a special situation investment.
Avila Energy and Its Future
Looking beyond the merger, Avila Energy presents an interesting opportunity as a stand-alone company
Avila's strategic growth plan is divided into three phases:
- Upstream, where it plans to invest towards becoming a low-cost, carbon-neutral energy producer.
- Downstream, diversifying its revenue stream through the development of direct-to-consumer sales, aiming to boost demand, margins, and profitability.
- Providing customers with the option to convert to Avila’s developing hydrogen-fueled solutions, expected to be commercially available in 2027, as part of its Corporate Vision.
The company has a diversified and growing portfolio of 100%-owned and operated wells, three oil and natural gas processing facilities, 150,000 acres of leased exploration rights, and over 300 kms of gathering and sales pipelines.
The P&L displays robust numbers with $3.08 M in net revenue, more than 50% margins, with the majority of the revenue attributable to clean burning natural gas.
Avila currently has a 2P valuation of CAD $30.7 Million and a 1P valuation of CAD $7.8 Million with a current market cap of CAD $8.9 Million. As of year-end 2022, the company also had CAD $6.5 Million of cash, CAD $2.067 Million of Debt, and a positive shareholder equity of CAD $53.17 Million. These third-party audited reserves, as presented below from Deloitte, are a vast value relative to the company’s current market cap.

Clean Energy Future
Moreover, beyond being a traditional oil company, Avila is set to launch its “Vertically Integrated Energy Business, through its partnership with MTT. Supported by over a decade of R&D, including Avila's equity investment in Micro Turbine Technology (MTT), this venture promises to leverage innovative cleantech. Avila is aiming to deliver its first direct-to-consumer energy sales in North America in 2023. It also is targeting net-zero tier 3 (scope 3) CO2 emission energy for consumers by 2027.
The EnerTwin is a small, environmentally friendly power plant that simultaneously produces heat and electricity using the smallest gas turbine in the world. It runs on natural gas, LPG, biomethane, and hydrogen mixes, and thereby facilitates the energy transition to a low-carbon future in buildings.
Avila Energy says it has purchased a license for the manufacturing and marketing of the EnerTwin in the North American market. Beginning in 2026, Avila plans to sell 50,000 EnerTwin systems in North America as part of an integrated offering that also includes the provision of energy to their end customers.
To achieve this goal, the company has laid out the following timeline:
1) 2nd quarter of 2023 the preparation and filing of the application for the Canadian Standards Association (“CSA”) and Underwriter Laboratories (“UL”) Certifications for the EnerTwin in North America, based on past applications for CSA approval of KIWA certified equipment. The Company has estimated that this process is anticipated to 10-12 months in duration. 1st half of 2023 the commencement of pre-sales and servicing of the EnerTwin that are conditional on the Company attaining CSA and UL approval. In the event that the CSA and UL approval is not attained, the sales would be refunded to customers.
2) The development of the Company’s manufacturing of the EnerTwin, including the assembly or 3rd part manufactured subassemblies and the final testing prior to shipping to the customer. The ramp up of this manufacturing facility is to be completed in parallel to the CSA approval, with the first 100 installations being demonstration installations to be replace by CSA approved equipment within targeted markets in North America utilizing the EnerTwin as KIWA Certified equipment.
3) Initial contracts are anticipated to be executed 3 months after receiving CSA Certification.
The Company’s Vertically Integrated Energy Business is based on the following assumptions:
a) Power, Heat, Cooling and Daily Transportation in one invoice;
b) Reduce Consumers Carbon footprint by 40% and save the consumer money;
c) Mitigates concern for brownouts and protection from increasing transmission fees;
d) Fixed Contract plus only an annual inflation adjustment; and
e) Capacity to transition to Hydrogen in the future.
The Company’s long-term goal is to allocate a portion of its natural gas production to its newly acquired customers as a source of fuel with the cost of energy being billed to the customer at a fixed price plus an annual inflation rate adjustment. The Company’s strategy is to include the delivery of fuel and the maintenance, under long-term contracts that offers price stability. The Company plans to continue to still sell their current suite of customers in addition to the newly acquired customers from the Vertically Integrated Business.
The Company assumes early market development will qualify for government subsidies both in Canada and the United States as an efficient upgrade and or substitute for current heating and cooling. For example, the Company anticipates that the EnerTwin will qualify under the existing Canadian Greener Homes Program which will offer rebates on eligible home retrofits.
Conclusion: A Rare Opportunity
Special situation investments like Avila's proposed SPAC up listing do not come often. They offer a chance for significant potential returns but are also complex and require a deep understanding of the specifics of the deal. For Avila shareholders, the potential upside of 1450% presents a remarkable opportunity. However, potential investors should conduct their own research and due diligence or consult with a financial advisor before making any decisions. With Avila's strong business foundation, ambitious future plans, and the exciting prospect of itsup listing through the merger with Insight Acquisition, the future indeed looks bright.

The Company’s Vertically Integrated Energy Business is based on the following assumptions:
a) Power, Heat, Cooling and Daily Transportation in one invoice;
b) Reduce Consumers Carbon footprint by 40% and save the consumer money;
c) Mitigates concern for brownouts and protection from increasing transmission fees;
d) Fixed Contract plus only an annual inflation adjustment; and
e) Capacity to transition to Hydrogen in the future.

100% Redemption (Proceeds retained from trust of US$ 1,250,000) 67.2% by Avila's shareholders;
50% Redemption (Proceeds retained from trust of US$15,781,215) 62.4% by Avila's shareholders;

2023.05.30 20:35 Slight-Profile4630 Crazy Drug Test Story
So I had to take a drug test for a job that required me to drive delivery trucks. I live in Michigan(a legal state) but the company is based in Ohio(an illegal state). I have been a chronic smoker for the past two years and although I had 20 days being clean before my test, I didn’t want to risk anything so I got one of my clean friends to piss in a bottle for me so I could use his urine instead of mine. I used the thermos method(putting the bottle of urine in a thermos of hot water) to heat the urine to about 98 F and then I strapped it tight to my inner thigh before I went in for my test. I had to wait about 20 minutes before taking my test but I thought everything would be fine and that there was no way it would lose its heat that fast. I was wrong. The temperature was outside of the required range for a urine sample so the guy told me he now had to watch the pee come out and that I would have to pull my pants all the way down and lift my shirt up while going. Luckily, I had peed while pouring the fake urine to make noise and avoid suspicion so I couldn’t piss even a drop. They had me wait in the lobby where I began chugging water and I mean CHUGGING. I couldn’t pee for an hour and when I finally had to, my piss was as clear as water.
I decided to leave in the hands of external powers and just not worry, so that night, and the following day or two, I smoked a LOT of weed including hitting a dab pen. I found out a day after smoking that my test came back dilute(again, extremely lucky) and that I would have to retake the test within the next couple of days.
I panicked pretty hard but got it together enough to go to my local vape shop and purchase Rescue Ice Detox($18 for under 200 lbs and $30 for over). I was barely 48 hours clean(which the drink requires to work) when I started drinking it. It tasted like flavored piss but I was eventually able to get it all down and managed to follow the intense directions I was given(which were don’t eat or drink anything for at least 3 hours before drinking and don’t eat or drink anything after, though, I still hit my vape after drinking it). I pissed 3 times before my test and then held on until I had to go in to take it which, for me, was the hardest part as I have an extremely small bladder. Finally I got to go take it and I pissed for a solid 2 minutes straight. A few days later, my test came back and I PASSED.
I am honestly really shocked that I was able to pass after smoking so close to my test date even with the detox. I would never recommend using fake piss as the margin for error is entirely too big. Just get yourself a detox drink and hold on tight.

Lewis announced his commitment surrounded by Tennessee staff, current commits, and future Vols during the '865 Live' recruiting event in Knoxville over the weekend (last year was called RockyTopalooza). This event was jam packed with other blue chip recruits and included a scavenger hunt, a putt putt golf contest, and a talent show. The Salem, VA native gives Heupel's staff their TWELFTH commitment in the 2024 class choosing Tennessee over Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina. Lewis was offered by the Vols in February 2023 and "always had aspirations of playing at Tennessee" so the commitment came just a few short months afterwards.
Tennessee anchors itself inside the Top 10 at #8 sandwiched between Florida State (#9) and Penn State (#7). See the other commitments below:

2023.05.30 20:22 seannestor Following departure of controversial pastor, Epworth United Methodist tries to rebuild - Toledo Blade 5/28/23
https://www.toledoblade.com/news/religion/2023/05/28/controversial-pastor-epworth-united-methodist-rebuild/stories/20230514024 A church doesn’t just implode overnight.
At Epworth United Methodist Church, founded in Toledo in 1894, members felt they lost power to their pastor years ago.
The sudden March closure of Epworth Preschool was the boiling point for concerns that had been simmering since the first formal complaint against then-pastor Stephen Swisher was filed in 2021.
Two years and a wave of recent filings later, Mr. Swisher left the church on May 1. Bishop Gregory Palmer of the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church confirmed that Mr. Swisher voluntarily withdrew from ministry in the UMC and is no longer a United Methodist pastor.
The Ottawa Hills church is the largest United Methodist congregation in the Toledo area, though members said regular attendance has declined in light of recent disputes surrounding the preschool and church leadership.
Mr. Swisher
said in an April 23 interview that his decision was not related to the divisions within the church surrounding the preschool. He did not return phone calls and emails requesting additional comment.
Parents and congregants, however, say they see a correlation.
“Technically he's voluntarily leaving because the other option is he had to go to trial,” said Chase Peavy, a former Epworth Preschool parent.
Under the UMC Book of Discipline, if a formal complaint is filed for a chargeable offense, the bishop must conduct a review and implement a resolution.
“If a clergy person chooses, at any point, to withdraw from The United Methodist Ministry, the authority of the church ceases,” the bishop said in an email. That means the UMC can no longer adjudicate the complaints.
Formal complaints In 2021, a group of members sent a formal complaint backed by 98 signatures to Bishop Palmer, alleging “misconduct or unsatisfactory performance of ministerial duties” of Mr. Swisher. He arrived at Epworth in April, 2020, and restructured church leadership that November.
One complaint, sent on Nov. 10, 2021, “challenge[s] the legitimacy” of a Nov. 12, 2020, meeting that served as a charge conference.
The United Methodist Church instructs that churches hold an annual charge conference, which directs the church mission, budgets, and elects council members. Church members are to be notified of the time and place of a charge conference at least 10 days in advance through at least two means of communication, according to the Book of Discipline.
The complaint states that many church members were unaware of the charge conference because it “had not been announced in the Tower [newsletter], weekly bulletin, or by mail.”
Cindy Franklin, a former office staff member of 13 years, was acting communications manager during the fall of 2020.
“I am the sole person that wrote, printed, and published all publications and I was told specifically to REMOVE ANY WORDING of ‘Charge Conference’ from all publications,” Ms. Franklin wrote in an April 10 formal complaint to Bishop Palmer.
The meeting was instead marketed as a Thursday evening service with then-district superintendent Scot Ocke as the guest speaker, according to the
November, 2020, issue of the church newsletter. The
December issue offers a “charge conference update,” listing issues that were voted on, including “Lay Leadership Teams/Action teams alignment and assignments.”
Ms. Franklin said Mr. Swisher dismantled a few volunteer committees and rebranded the remaining ones as action teams. She was one of an estimated 50 individuals who had been removed from a committee position. Mr. Swisher also handpicked his personal leadership team, narrowing a 54-person administrative council to a 13-person leadership team, Ms. Franklin said, noting that “every change since then is null and void because the way he got his leadership is inappropriate.”
Epworth staff declined to comment on the record.
“The November 2021 complaint was dismissed after a plan was implemented,” Bishop Palmer wrote in a statement. “The concerns in the complaint were addressed. They included but were not limited to deploying Annual Conference staff with particular skills to assist Epworth staff and congregation in dealing effectively with some internal matters.”
Lynne Saunders, who’s been an Epworth member for around 15 years, said the conference’s response was to “send in a team to coach [Mr. Swisher] and leadership on how to treat people.”
In August, 2022, letters were sent to District Superintendent Amy Haines with concerns related to Epworth Preschool finances and leadership.
The silence from UMC leadership in response to these messages, Ms. Saunders wrote in a Nov. 20, 2022, email to Ms. Haines, was “deafening.”
A number of letters and formal complaints, one of which attached 90 additional documents and exhibits, were again sent to the conference in March and April, following the sudden March 9 firing of director Jane Lyon and March 10 closure of Epworth Preschool.
Two complaints have been filed with the Ohio Attorney General, dated March 24 and April 27, alleging potential fraud and potential solicitation, according to the obtained documents. The office could neither confirm nor deny whether an investigation is or could be underway.
The United Methodist Church requires an annual audit of each of its churches. Bishop Palmer said in his joint statement with Ms. Haines that a 2022 audit is in the process of being conducted by an outside firm.
Epworth Preschool Former members of the preschool board, which was abruptly disbanded in August, 2022, say $110,000 of preschool money is unaccounted for. They shared some financial documents with The Blade.
“It’s always been about the money, control, and power of the money,” said Ms. Saunders, who was preschool board chair.
Multiple members of Epworth’s staff declined to comment on the situation at the preschool.
Records show that the school’s account balance at the end of calendar year 2021 was just more than $63,000. Melinda Davis, former school board treasurer, said statements not provided to the board until the summer showed a starting balance of $0 for January, 2022. The account balance at the end of 2022 was $47,000, she said, with a starting balance of $0 in January, 2023.
Not seeing the money in the preschool account indicated it had been absorbed by the church, Ms. Davis said. For 40 years, the preschool had had a separate bank account from the church.
Surplus money would typically carry over to the next year, Ms. Davis said. The surplus was higher than usual these years because of federal COVID relief grant money that Epworth Preschool received through the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services. She said the grants were $22,500 in 2020, $13,000 in 2021, and nearly $23,000 in 2022.
“It is a CRIME to use federal educational grant money (which the director secured for use in the preschool) for anything but education,” a former church member wrote in the March 24 complaint to the attorney general.
In the summer of 2022, board members needed to see the school’s finances in order to make the budget for the coming school year. Ms. Saunders said she “demanded” the church turn over the records, which board members hadn’t received from the church since that January. A staff member informed Ms. Saunders and Ms. Lyon over the phone that the preschool monies were being absorbed into the church money, Ms. Saunders recalled, noting that it was never communicated in writing.
On Aug. 16, preschool board members received an email stating that Epworth’s leadership team had voted the night before “to dissolve and disband the Epworth Preschool Board, effective immediately.”
Because the board was dismantled, the email stated, Ms. Lyon was elevated to report directly to Mr. Swisher. Epworth memos to the parents state Mr. Swisher did not fire Ms. Lyon, and parents have received inconsistent messages regarding why Ms. Lyon was fired.
Ms. Lyon could not be reached for comment.
The church confirmed it is working toward reopening the preschool for the fall.
Parents confirmed they have received refunds for the remainder of the spring as well as their deposits for the coming fall.
Many former Epworth families are turning to Olivet Lutheran Church’s preschool in Sylvania, which is opening a new class for the fall to fill a need it saw in the community.
“We had people on a waitlist and then when [Epworth] families started calling, we saw the greater need for the whole community to open up another class,” said Olivet Christian Nursery School director Jennifer Crooks. “We're here to support them as new Olivet families.”
Epworth Preschool’s closure has allowed familiar faces to become friends, as parents came together both to seek truth and to plan daytime activities for their kids.
“This has been something in the right direction,” parent Christina Gondol said while one of her two sons and several other kids were in a group tutoring session.
Good has also come out of this, she added, in preventing a similar situation from happening in another community.
“If they would have gotten [Mr. Swisher] removed two years ago, they would have pushed him to another church,” Ms. Gondol said. “It had to come to this to get him all the way out.”
Healing and looking ahead Members who had stepped away from Epworth started to come back on May 7, the first Sunday since Mr. Swisher left, according to the Rev. Stephen Bennett, who will serve as interim pastor through the end of June. He’s been attending and volunteering with the church for four years.
Pastor Bennett said there’s new excitement and positivity.
Epworth will augment its leadership teams with additional members, Pastor Bennett said, and is looking to rebuild some of the “previous committees that had been dissolved.”
He added that transparency is a “major goal” and acknowledged that “it’s been pretty opaque.”
Ms. Saunders said Epworth leadership must disclose information from the past three years in order to regain individuals’ faith in the church.
“The future of Epworth will be determined by what is revealed of the time Epworth was led by [Stephen] Swisher and the actions of those around him who had the power and responsibility to stop his misdeeds,” she wrote in an email. “Anything less will be fateful.”
As communication opens up, Pastor Bennett said, the congregation can begin to heal.
“Healing means coming back together,” Pastor Bennett said. “We’re going to get to work, and I think as people see their church returning to what they experienced previously that brought them there, that healing will begin to take place.”

2023.05.30 19:48 List_Man_3849 ListMan38 May/June 2023 Modmaking Status
1812: Madison side is 100% done and playtested (I have a personal rule that I will only release mods with all intended sides, so sorry), and Clinton is nearly done. It has taken long because my previous college semester was very demanding, and Lotrfan has been frequently rewriting their work (particularly after the 1948IW debacle). Notably, I managed to replicate the Maryland voting system of 1789-1832.
1804: Jefferson side is complete, and Pinckney's writing is coming along. Due to the tipping point being Ohio (Jefferson +75) assuming a sweep of the State Leg-EV states, or Virginia (Jefferson +99) assuming Pinckney's IRL State Leg-EV states, it will basically be a "how far you can get" game, broadly similar to 1972d.
1840: Managed to assemble a team of AngryGandhi and Stockdale to pick up 1840, which should hopefully turn out well.
Other mods I'm interested in: Looking into 1816 and find it interesting, and also have an idea in mind for a 30s-50s alt history series. Both aren't even in the writing stage yet, though both seem like compelling ideas.

2023.05.30 19:03 scottdrumm2010 HOA Question in Ohio
I’m looking for resources for my legal rights to protect myself from my HOA in the state of Ohio. What are some good sources for current consumer protections laws?
My scenario. I received today (5/28)a notice that my annual dues are going up from $250 to $500 and I have have to pay them by 6/1. I am upset about the increase as it is vague and has no itemized reasoning for the increase and more upset about the 3 day notice.
What can a person do to protect themselves? Thanks in advance!

2023.05.30 19:00 Future_Vehicle_8307 22 Blue in 2022: 'THE QUICK LIST'
22 Blue in 2022: 'THE LIST'
Build Supermajorities of Democrats in the US House and US Senate
Here’s “22 Blue in 2022: ‘A Quick List’”:
- Florida 2. Ohio 3. Kansas 4. North Carolina 5. Kentucky 6. Arizona7. South Carolina 8. Georgia 9. Texas 10. Michigan 11. Nevada 12. Pennsylvania13. Missouri 14. Wisconsin 15. Iowa 16. Arkansas 17. Oklahoma 18. Indiana19. Colorado 20. Alabama 21. South Dakota 22. North Dakota
The 2022 Midterm Election is the most important midterm of our lifetime.Democrats must behave as if our lives depend on this midterm, because our future depends on the outcome.
”We the people” must deny the Republican party political power at every level of government for decades to come “in order to create a more perfect union.” With 48 States having some statewide contest(s), November 8th, 2022 is our best chance the Democrats will get to do that for the rest of this decade, at least.
”The List” encourages the election of a Democratic Supermajority in the US Senate in 2022. This is the best chance we will have to create a Democratic Supermajority in both Chambers of Congress for the remainder of this decade. This midterm could be a devastating loss for the democrats if good patriots ignore this election. If Americans of good conscience band together instead, we could could begin the exile of the Republican party from power, not for years, but for decades to come.
“The List” is a set of suggestions about where to focus collective activism today.
The election of Democratic Supermajorities to both chambers of the US Congress is the best outcome we can strive towards in the 2022 Midterm Election for many reasons. Among them: breaking the decade of gridlock in Congress, supporting President Biden’s agenda, and his re-election in 2024. My personal favorite is that this could commence the decades-long political banishment of the GOP from power, which the Republican Party so richly deserves.
The Republican party has proved itself treasonous on many levels. They are traitors to Humanity by supporting Trump. Traitors to the Nation for supporting Putin. Traitors to the government and betrayers of the constitution through their apologies for the 1/6/21 insurrection. To safeguard our country and the world, we must block the Republicans from power at the ballot box, at all levels of government, for at least a generation.
Political game playing may be inevitable among humans. Change the numbers, and then change the rules, if not the game. Cynical refusal to play at this time in history cedes power to NAZIs manipulated by Active Measures. That is a surrender to crypto fascism, not radical thinking, mere cynicism, or hipsterism.
In 2022, Patriots must unify to crush the Republican Party at the ballot box. We can defeat them in every State, at every level. We need the biggest turnout at the voting booth of any Midterm ever. We need to raise more money for candidates and organizations than we did during the entire 2020 campaign season if we are to accomplish this. We need to do this in the next six months.
This is what a “Blue Tsunami” REALLY looks like.
Electing a Democratic Supermajority in Congress is our hope for the future and retribution for America’s enemies. “22 Blue in 2022” is a roadmap to the beginning of that journey. “22 Blue in 2022” is our war plan. ”22 Blue in 2022” is our electoral battle cry. “22 Blue in 2022” is a way forward out of gridlock, a way to non-violently thwart those who would poison the body politic with their hate.
If we don’t try this hard in 2022, Trump will go unpunished and metastasize by 2024.
Resist In Power, my sisters, my brothers, and my others.
Resist Together, and elect a Congressional Supermajority in 2022!

2023.05.30 19:00 London-Roma-1980 [Fantasy] Great Naismith Project Week 3 Summary
As part of my project (available at
BestOfDivI), I've added (read: made up) a few extra tidbits for history's sake. For example, it's been a decade since Michigan State crashed the national title game before losing to Duke. I bring this up because in the nine seasons between then and this one, only UCLA (six times), Kentucky (five times), North Carolina (four times), Kansas (twice), and Duke (once) have been in the NIBL National Championship game.
This season doesn't seem to be trending any differently. On to non-conference play!
MATCHDAY 7 The Super Five re-asserted their dominance over the rest of the NIBL. Wilt Chamberlain not only scored 21 points but held Red Kerr scoreless as
Kansas knocked off Illinois. In an outside vs inside battle, outside won as Grant Hill and JJ Redick helped
Duke pull one out against Houston. Michael Jordan may have taken the UCLA loss personally as he went off for 38 in
North Carolina's rout of Arizona State. Kansas was one of three remaining unbeatens. In the other meetings, Chris Webber scored 31 as
Michigan routed Louisville. In the main event, with all the big men playing evenly with each other, it was Reggie Miller who was the difference as
UCLA took out Kentucky to stake a claim at the #1 spot. (In the other Top 25 matchup, Kevin Durant put up 25 as
Texas beat Minnesota.)
MATCHDAY 8 Anyone hoping for a disturbance in the usual order was in for a rude awakening this day. UCLA became the only unbeaten remaining -- building off of their 37-0 season last year -- by getting both Joel Embiid and Wilt Chamberlain in foul trouble as
UCLA knocked off Kansas. There was a chance for a second... hypothetically, but the That Was Out Of Bounds Revenge Tour continued as
North Carolina routed Michigan with all 15 players getting in. A rivalry game saw a showcase for Dave Bing, who proved to be the difference as
Syracuse upended Connecticut. What seemed like the NIBL's most glamorous chess match was won by Mike Krzyzewski over Bobby Knight as Grant Hill running the point was the secret to
Duke's rout of Indiana. (For those asking, the other Five Star team licked their wounds and recovered as
Kentucky destroyed Florida State.)
Things were much closer outside of this bubble. Junior Bridgeman's buzzer beater proved the difference in overtime as
Louisville took out Maryland. Jason Richardson and Aaron Gordon traded baskets, but Magic Johnson found the answers as
Michigan State held off Arizona. A defensive swarm put Kevin Durant off his game as Adrian Dantley took over, leading
Notre Dame to a laugher over Texas. A Rose Bowl broke out on the hardwood, and as has been the case several times,
Southern Cal held off Ohio State. And for those hoping for a mid-major resurgence, that looks unlikely as
Georgetown took out UNLV and showed the dominance of the Power Six conferences.
MATCHDAY 9 The big story, again, was the dominance of the top 3 teams in the poll. The presumptive new #1 showed off their depth when Kiki Vandeweghe of all people led the scoring and
UCLA shut down Michigan State. The Michael Jordan Took That Loss Personally Tour raged on as MJ's triple-double fueled
North Carolina's rout of Alabama. In what was supposed to be a rivalry game, one team shut down the other without much trouble as
Kentucky put up 100 on Louisville. And while it wasn't a Top 25 game yet -- the two teams are ranked now -- a huge reality check hammered down as
Duke took care of Iowa easily. Elsewhere, the Top 25 matchups were a lot calmer. The Orange continued their display of dominance as
Syracuse defeated Illinois to raise the question of whether someone could compete with the Tobacco Road crew. "We Want Kansas" rang through the home crowd while
Michigan dropped the hammer on Notre Dame to move to 8-1 on the season. Kansas' "Big 3" of Paul Pierce, Wilt Chamberlain, and Joel Embiid each had 16 as
the Jayhawks took out Southern Cal. Isiah Thomas' 19-5-11 game was enough as
Indiana recovered to defeat Arizona State. And in a huge surprise, the Forty Minutes of Hell was too much for Elvin Hayes and Damon Jones as
Arkansas upset Houston, knocking the Cougars out of the Top 25.
LOOKING AHEAD With the NIBL Media Poll soon to debut alongside the on-running NIBL Coaches' Poll, the differences between the two will be interesting to see. But before that, we have one more week to get through. UCLA has three games to prove they are going for another perfect season. North Carolina and Kentucky drew each other, while Michigan wants to crack into the blue-blood zone against Duke at home. On top of that, two newly-ranked teams will be tested early, as Iowa faces Arkansas while Florida takes on California.
